Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” Makes History As Longest-Running #1 Single on Billboard Hot 100 After 17 Weeks

Lil Nas X has officially made history now that his song “Old Town Road” (feat. Billy Ray Cyrus) is the longest-running No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 after spending 17 weeks at the top of the chart.

The big news comes after Nas X released not just one, but two remixes of the song in the past few weeks, with the first featuring the yodeling kid Mason Ramsey and rap superstar Young Thug, followed by a new version featuring BTS frontman RM.

The 20-year-old also upped his celebrity a bit by coming out as gay on the last day of Pride Month, almost one month ago today (even though Young Thug said he shouldn’t have).

Nas X first appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart when “Old Town Road” debuted at No. 83 back in March. In April, it was already topping the chart. He celebrated his 20th birthday that same month on April 9th.

Old Town Road’s 17-week reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 demolished a decades-long record set by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s 1995 song “One Sweet Day” (and shared with Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s “Despacito”) as the longest-running song to stay on top of the chart ever, which was, until Lil Nas X came long, 16 weeks.

The song also impressively remained at the top of the chart even as more established artists like Taylor Swift, Drake and Ariana Grande released singles over the past few months.

Lil Nas X’s rapid ascension to the forefront of social media and pop culture as a whole is a remarkable feat for someone who just turned 20 years old a few months ago.

And get this: he didn’t even think about pursuing a music career until a few years ago when his Nicki Minaj fan account was suspended from Twitter.

“Music literally came along after that account got suspended, like two, three, two years ago maybe,” Nas X told XXL back in April. “When I started my new account, it was more authentically me just being me, which is how I used that to my advantage to blow up.

“The music came along, and at first I didn’t incorporate my online personality with music. I was just trying to be me online, but musically, [I was] just whatever I thought people wanted to hear from me. Later on I just started to do whatever felt right.”

Porsha Williams’ Ex-Fiancé Dennis McKinley Handcuffed After Officer Accused Him of Stealing $4 Hospital Sandwich

Dennis McKinley was handcuffed after a police officer accused of him of stealing a sandwich from a hospital cafeteria. He says the incident was another unfortunate example of racial profiling.

On Friday (Jul. 26), Porsha Williams’ ex-fiancé had a routine doctor’s visit at Emory Healthcare.

While in the cafeteria following the appointment, McKinley was detained, handcuffed, and questioned by an “aggressive” police officer for allegedly stealing a $4 sandwich.

“Yesterday I was accosted by a super aggressive Emory police officer #BethWalsh badge #215 who racially profiled me and falsely accused me of stealing a $4 sandwich,” McKinley wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. “I had a receipt which could have easily ended her inquiry.”

McKinley further explained the situation in the IG post, which also included video footage, The clip shows him sitting with his hands cuffed behind his back and the officer is overheard saying McKinley has “escalated” the situation.

“There were a number of easy resolutions that could have deescalated the unnecessary racial profiling,” he wrote.

“Instead, this Emory police officer chose to abuse her power. She chose aggression over common sense. She put her hands on her weapon, she put her hands on me.”

The 39-year-old says the officer cuffed his wrists too tight, which caused injuries. He included pictures of his red and bruised wrists.

“I was profiled. She was wrong. No apology. Just more vitriol,” he continued on Instagram. “She blamed me for the entire situation. It was disgusting. I could have been the next hashtag because she was that aggressive.”

The Emory Police Department released a short statement to Us Weekly. It simply read that “an Emory Police Department officer detained an individual suspected of not paying for an item. Once the officer learned the individual had purchased it, he was released.”

This minimalized version of events did not sit well with McKinley. His reps released a scathing, lengthy response:

“Emory’s response is clearly the response of privilege. The privilege of someone completely out of touch with the reality of what that harrowing experience was like for Dennis.

“It is a response that does not recognize the pain and anguish of being profiled, despite your personal accomplishments and standing in society; they don’t understand what it’s like to be viewed as a criminal for no reason at all, except how you look; they don’t understand what it’s like to falsely accused of something you did not do; publicly humiliated for no reason at all; handcuffed like a criminal; detained without provocation; and completely frightened to death that you could be shot by an overly aggressive police officer over a $4 sandwich.

“Are you kidding me, Emory. This type of indifference by Emory just made the experience all the more painful. This is shameful.”

McKinley says Emory did not let him file a formal complaint so he has retained legal counsel. He’s being represented by Mike Sterling, Eva Marcille’s husband.

Lil Nas X Says He’s Releasing a Porno on Pornhub, Twitter Reacts

Lil Nas X has worked with Billy Ray Cyrus, Mason Ramsey, Young Thug, RM from BTS, and now … Pornhub?

The 20-year-old rapper, who has been killing the charts the past few months ever since the release of his hit single “Old Town Road” and came out as gay just a month ago, appears to be working with Pornhub on a project that he says is “coming soon.”

Pornhub tweeted about the news on their Twitter account. Lil Nas X retweeted the message and added “coming soon” with the purple demon emoji and a horse emoji.

Fans were quick to tweet about the possible porno collaboration, with many of them using lyrics from “Old Town Road” to joke about the news.

“‘I’m gonna ride till I can’t no more’ will have an entire new meaning,” one fan tweeted.

“Cowboys in the back, gags are attached, straps are matte black got the leather boots to match,” another user tweeted.

Other than revealing that the hit single inspired porno is on the way, neither Lil Nas X nor Pornhub have given any real details on the adult film and who all will be in it.

16-Year-Old Wins $3 Million in Fortnite World Cup Video Game Championship

A Pennsylvania teen became a multi-millionaire overnight after winning Fortnite’s first-ever gaming tournament.

According to CNN, 16-year-old Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf brought home the $3 million grand prize for individual players, beating out a number of other pros and famous streamers.

It’s the largest payout EVER for a single player in an esports tournament.

 

“Words can’t really explain it. I’m so happy,” Giersdorf said after the event, which was held in New York’s Arthur Ashe tennis stadium. “Everything I’ve done in the grind has all paid off and it’s just insane.”

Second through fourth place winners also took home 7-figure cash sums.

Bronx Dad Screamed “I Killed My Babies!” After Realizing He Left Infant Twins in Hot Car for 8 Hours

New York police said the father charged in the death of his twin son and daughter after accidentally leaving them in the back of a hot car for hours while he was at work was visibly distraught when he realized what he had done.

“I killed my babies! I left them in the car!” 39-year-old Juan Rodriguez screamed, according to witnesses, as he stood on a Bronx street Friday (Jul. 26) beside his Honda Accord.

Inside the vehicle in the backseat, his 1-year-old twins, Luna and Phoenix, were lifeless in their car seats and foaming at the mouths. They had been left in the car for nearly eight hours.

Police said Rodriguez arrived at his job at the James J. Peters VA Hospital in the Bronx around 8:30 a.m. Friday morning and forgot the babies were in the car.

He returned to the car at 4 p.m. and drove a short distance before noticing the babies in the backseat. Someone who heard Rodriguez screaming on the side of the road called the police.

First responders arrived to find the children unresponsive with their mouths covered in foam. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Rodriguez, who is married with three other children, was arrested and is facing two felony manslaughter charges as well as two counts negligent homicide in the babies’ deaths.

A neighbor of Rodriguez said the children were supposed to be at daycare and apparently Rodriguez forgot to take them there on his way to work.

According to Accuweather.com, NYC temperatures Friday reached nearly 90 degrees, but as Consumer Reports points out, an outdoor temperature of just 61 degrees Fahrenheit can cause fatal conditions inside a closed vehicle, where the temperature can reach well over 100 degrees in just one hour.

An average of 38 children die every year due to being left in hot cars. According to the National Safety Council, a record high of 52 children died in hot cars just last year alone.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was on the receiving end of a grand marriage proposal from her boyfriend, sportscaster Mike Hill, and according to People, she said yes!

The magazine reports that Hill proposed to Bailey Friday (Jul. 26) in Atlanta at the grand opening of her new business, The Bailey WineCeller.

The surprise proposal was attended by Bailey’s 19-year-old daughter Noelle Robinson as well as Hill’s teen daughters—Kayla, 17, and Ashlee, 19—along with a crowd of the couple’s closest friends and Bailey’s RHOA castmates.

Then, he told Noelle that he needed her help to open the bottle and she passed him the ring box, helping him open that before he dropped to one knee and professed his love.

As he did, Noelle, Kayla and Ashlee all gathered behind him with a hand-made puzzle piece sign that real, “Can we be a family?”

It all turned Bailey into a ball of emotions. Though she was confused at first, Bailey broke down in tears when she saw Hill get down on one knee and ask her the big question. She quickly said yes.

The crowd quickly erupted in applause, the source tells PEOPLE, chanting “Congratulations Chill!” — the nickname Bailey and Hill have adapted on social media.

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill, who currently works from Los Angeles at Fox Sports 1, have been dating for 14 months and this will be the second marriage for both of them.

Bailey was previously married to Peter Thomas between 2010 and 2017.

Despite her divorce being so recent, Bailey has said that she would gladly walk down the aisle again, as long as it’s Mike.

“I had no desire to marry again after my divorce, none whatsoever,” she told Ebony magazine last November.

“Then I had to change that narrative to be more open because I don’t know what God has in store for me. If it’s God’s will, if it happens, it happens, but I still was not looking for that.”

Bailey added: “When I met Mike, I didn’t get the feeling that I had to get married, I just have to be with him, whatever that looks like.

“I’m hoping a proposal will happen soon, if not before the end of this year, then hopefully next. I’ve certainly been dropping enough hints! But God has a plan, so I’m just letting it go.”

Bailey expressed similar sentiments during an appearance on The Real back in March, saying that she knew she would be marrying Mike “sometime next year.”

“Well, I want to marry this man. I love this man. We have time. When Mike is ready and when God is ready, that’s when we will get married. However, I do predict that Mike and God will be ready sometime next year. Praise God!” she said as Mike laughed from the audience.

“You know it’s crazy, we talk about it all the time. I’ve been married before, Mike has been married before. We have kids already, we’re enjoying the process.”

Later that same month, Mike himself confirmed his fiancée-to-be’s premonition, telling Access Hollywood Live: “I’m actually prepared for a wedding next year.”

Cynthia is currently filming RHOA Season 12, which is expected to premiere in the fall, and it looks like her storyline is already set for the next two seasons.

Kendrick Lamar & Fiancée Whitney Alford Welcome Baby Girl, Couple’s First Child Together

A Friday surprise: Kendrick Lamar is a daddy!

A source confirms to Us Weekly that Lamar and his fiancée Whitney Alford welcomed a baby girl on Friday (Jul. 26), their first child. The baby’s name or any other info has yet to be announced.

The news is a happy surprise because we didn’t even know the couple was expecting. Lamar is extremely private about his personal life and rarely talks about his relationship with Alford, his high school sweetheart.

During a Breakfast Club interview in 2015, he confirmed he and make-up artist Alford were engaged after 10 years of dating. “I’m loyal to the soil,” he said.

The couple began dating while attending Centennial High School in Compton, California together.

“I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” the Grammy winner said of their high school romance in a 2015 Billboard interview.

“That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion—she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”

Alford is a licensed aesthetician who has styled Lamar’s hair for many performances and photoshoots. She received a degree in accounting from California State University.

Though the couple nor Lamar’s reps commented on the birth of the baby girl, several fans have already wished the couple congratulations on social media.

Woman Orders Food From Sonic & Tells Server “This One’s on God” Before Fleeing on Her Bicycle

Police in New Mexico said a woman is facing charges after ordering food from a Sonic, then telling a server, “This one’s on God,” before fleeing the scene on her bicycle.

According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, 30-year-old Delila Hernandez was arrested Monday (Jul. 22) for felony robbery.

Police said Hernandez rode her bicycle to a Sonic in Las Cruces Monday and placed an order. When the server asked for payment, the woman allegedly told him “This one’s on God.”

Police said the server told Hernandez, “That’s not how this works,” and tried to keep the food from her, but she allegedly threatened him and came at him for the meal.

The server, afraid of being harmed by the woman, told police he gave her the meal and ran back into the restaurant and called 911.

Police later found Hernandez in a park eating the allegedly stolen meal.

She told police she knew what she’d done was wrong, and didn’t want to eat the meal at first because she knew it was wrong, but she decided to eat it anyway because she was “starving.”

Authorities said Hernandez’s felony robbery charge may be reduced or dropped altogether.

She’ll most likely end up charged with a petty misdemeanor of under $250 and be made to pay back the restaurant, and possibly fined a small amount, officials said.

North Carolina Man Accused of Killing Mother of 5 in Front of Her Kids Arrested in South Carolina After 2 Weeks on the Run

A wanted fugitive of North Carolina accused of killing a mother in front of her five children was captured in South Carolina after spending two weeks on the run from police.

Deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina said 25-year-old Byron Blair Watkins was taken into custody around 1 a.m. early Friday morning (Jul. 26) by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office without incident.

Multiple police agencies spent the past couple of weeks searching for Watkins, who they said was considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Watkins is one of two men charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lucero Sosa Capote—a mother of five from Monroe, North Carolina.

The Monroe North Carolina Police Department said Watkins and an accomplice broke into Capote’s home on July 12th at 4:40 a.m. demanding money.

During an altercation, Capote was shot to death in front of her five children, and police said two of the children received minor injuries during the incident. Capote’s children were all under the age of 13.

“The last words she said to me were ‘I love you,'”Capote’s oldest child, her 12-year-old son Leonardo Sosa told Charlotte’s WBTV in Charlotte.

Leonardo said after the two men broke into their home, his mom died trying to fight them off.

“It was wrong, for someone to do that, to my own mother,” Sosa told the news station with tears in his eyes. “I always told her, I’d say that me and my dad would always protect her.”

Capote’s husband, Rafael Vargas, told Fox 46 in Charlotte he was at work during the violent incident and said his wife “gave her life” for their children.

Byron Watkins has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling, and assault and a child under the age of 12.

Watkins’ alleged accomplice, 19-year-old Antwan David Sturdivant (pictured with Watkins above), was arrested Wednesday (Jul. 24). He was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault on a female.

“Insecure” Update: Issa Rae Says Season 4 Starts Filming in September & Will Have More Episodes

Issa Rae just gave an update of Insecure news and it’s all good news.

During a Television Critics Association (TCA) panel Wednesday (Jul. 24) for the upcoming HBO sketch show, A Black Lady Sketch Show—of which Rae serves as an executive producer—Rae revealed a few bits of info about season 4 of Insecure.

Rae said Insecure writers have been working hard fleshing out storylines for the new season. The show is set to start filming in September.

And to top it all off, we’re finally getting an extended season. The fourth season will feature 10 episodes.

All previous seasons have only had eight, 30-minute episodes and fans have long wanted either longer episodes, or more episodes per season.

Season 4 is expected to premiere in 2020, two years after season 3 concluded.

In April, HBO announced the decision to postpone the season due to Rae’s busy schedule. Rae has transitioned into film and has explored other career opportunities.

Mo’Nique Cries & Feels Hurt by Whoopi Goldberg’s ‘The View’ Salary: “You Accept Them Paying You That?”

Mo’Nique has made waves fighting for black female comedians to be paid what they deserved. And recalling Whoopi Goldberg’s salary at The View recently brought her to tears, especially since Whoopi has not been supportive of Mo’Nique’s pay equity crusade.

In a recent Comedy Hype interview, Mo’Nique became emotional when revealing that a backstage conversation with Whoopi about her View salary left her hurt. She was shocked to learn an icon like Whoopi Goldberg was being paid so little.

“When I get Whoopi Goldberg on the flip saying, ‘F**k them little ones coming behind you. You better give a damn about you,’ that crushed me that day in her dressing room,” she said.

“Because Whoopi Goldberg told me the salary she makes from The View, and that hurt my feelings. You’ve been there for 10 years and you accept them paying you that?

“And you’re telling me, ‘Don’t worry about the little ones coming up?’ God damn if I ain’t gotta be worried about you too. Because you accept that salary, it makes it hard for me. And how hard do you think it’s gonna make for the one who ain’t here yet, because you accept that salary?”

It has been reported that Whoopi earns between $5 million and $6 million a year as the moderator for the ABC talk show. She joined the show in 2007.

Mo’Nique and Whoopi Goldberg clashed on-air last year over Mo’Nique’s call for a Netflix boycott after the network only offered her $500,000 for a comedy special. In comparison, Amy Schumer earned $13 million and Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock both earned $20 million.

The comedian initiated the boycott in an effort to stand up for her and other female comedians’ worth. But Mo’Nique said that she was uncomfortable by Whoopi telling her not to be concerned about the pay for upcoming black female comedians.

“To stand in my sister’s dressing room, and she says to me, ‘You can’t be worried about the one coming up.’ What if Moms Mabley didn’t worry about you? What if those ones didn’t make it better for us? So, I tried not to take it personal, but it’s personal.

Because these are the women I look to. So, I don’t want the little girl who’s not here yet… or a little girl down the street at the juice bar… I don’t want her to walk away and say, ‘That ain’t who I thought she was.'”

During the Comedy Hype interview, Mo’Nique also elaborated on her issues with Oprah Winfrey, which mostly stem from her feeling exploited after Oprah hosted Mo’Nique’s mother, father, and brother on her talk show.

A white woman is defending calling two black women the N-word while dining in a North Carolina restaurant. In fact, the racist white lady says she would call them the racial slur again.

Friends Lakesha Shaw and Chanda Stewart were having a good time at a Raleigh Bonefish Grill earlier this week until a racist bitter Becky (real name Nancy Goodman) went to their table and complained that they were being too loud and rude.

As Goodman–who says she has black friends–walked away from the table, she called Shaw a “stupid n***er.”

Stewart recorded part of the encounter and posted it on Facebook. The post went viral and caught the attention of news media.

Goodman spoke to local news outlet WRAL on Wednesday and defended her use of the slur. She refused to apologize to the black women and even stated that she would say the N-word again.

“I’m not going to say I’m sorry to them because they kept pushing at it…I would say it again to them. They are the rudest individuals I have ever seen.”

Goodman told the reporter that she has extreme anxiety (of black people?) and blamed Shaw and Stewart for “forcing” her to use such language.

“I used that word because they forced me into it,” she said. The reporter then asked if Goodman knew how the word is incredibly offensive. “Yes, I do. That’s why I said it,” Goodman responded.

Shaw and Stewart also spoke with WRAL. Shaw said that, regardless of the situation, nothing justified Goodman’s actions. Both women were shocked to learn Goodman said she would use the slur again.

“The fact that you’re willing to say you will repeat that again shows me the hate that you harbor in your heart for the black African-American race. I don’t care what color I am. Give me the respect of being a human being, just like everyone else deserves.”

The Raleigh Bonefish Grill establishment has banned Goodman. “We do not condone hate speech or derogatory issues between our guests,” the restaurant’s manager told the NY Daily News.

A spokesperson for the restaurant chain’s parent company, Bloomin’ Brands Inc. also released a statement.

“We do not tolerate hate speech or disrespect in our restaurants. We are reviewing the incident to see how we can do better at de-escalating something like this in the future,” the statement read in part.

Georgia Woman Charged With Murder of Pregnant Mother Trying to Save Her 3-Year-Old From Gunfire

A Georgia woman is facing a felony murder charge after she shot and killed an innocent bystander, a pregnant woman, while engaged in gunfire with an opposing group.

27-year-old Kiresa Cooper was arrested Wednesday night (Jul. 24) for the murder of 24-year-old Auriel Callaway.

Athens-Clarke County police said a fight between two groups in the Clarke Garden Apartments in Athens broke out Tuesday night (Jul. 23).

The fight then escalated into gunfire, and as Callaway, a resident of the complex, was trying to move her 3-year-old son to safety, she was struck by a stray bullet.

When ACCPD officers arrived on the scene, they began performing life-saving procedures on Callaway, who was four months pregnant, until EMS arrived. She was then taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The child with Callaway was uninjured in the shooting, however, her unborn child did not survive, WSB-TV reported.

Cooper was arrested the next day in Cobb County and transported to Athens-Clarke County Jail where she was booked on one count of aggravated assault and one count of felony murder.

A neighbor told Fox 5 News Callaway was simply in the wrong place at the time and was protecting her son from the gunfire when she was hit by a bullet that was not intended for her.

Callaway’s sister, Shandria Walker, was there, and told news reporters exactly how everything went down.

“Some kids were fighting and then it turned into some adults getting into it, and then the next thing you know gunshots start firing,” Walker said.

Walker said her sister was preparing to go in the house at the exact moment fight erupted into gunfire.

“She said, ‘I’m fixing to go, y’all. I’m taking my baby in the house,” Walker told WSB-TV.

Callaway was hit by a bullet and collapsed near her apartment, Walker said.

“She got hit with her son in her arms, and she’s pregnant. That’s my only sister. They took our baby away from us.”

Walker described her sister as “beautiful” and said she “had a heart of gold.”

“She would give when she didn’t have it,” Walker said of her sister. “All she cared about was her son. I want y’all to know you took away a mother, a sister, a daughter.”

Police Chief Cleveland Spruill called the shooting a “reckless act of violence [that] took the life a young mother in her prime as well as her unborn child.”

He added: “Such senseless violence shall not be tolerated and all our investigative resources and tools were brought to bear to locate and apprehend the suspect.”

Karesa Cooper remains in Athens-Clarke County Jail without bond.

LisaRaye Goes Off on Nicole Murphy After Confirming She Cheated With Her Ex-Husband: “You Don’t Do That Amongst Friends” (VIDEO)

LisaRaye McCoy is no longer insinuating that Nicole Murphy went after her ex-husband while they were married, she straight up confirmed it.

The actress did not hold back when TMZ caught up with her on Wednesday (Jul. 24) to ask about the cryptic social media comment she posted after seeing an article about Murphy kissing married director Antoine Fuqua on the lips.

The comment led to speculation that LisaRaye and Murphy had a past run-in, and her sister, Da Brat confirmed that Murphy tried to shoot her shot at LisaRaye’s then-husband Michael Misick.

“That’s true. Absolutely true,” LisaRaye told TMZ. “She messed around with my husband.”

LisaRaye and Misick were married between 2006-2008. Misick was the Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands at the time. The cheating, which Murphy was complicit in, contributed to their divorce.

The actress told TMZ that she absolutely confronted Murphy about messing with her husband.

Murphy issued a public apology for kissing a married man of 20 years. “I would never intentionally undermine another woman,” she said in part.

However, LisaRaye wasn’t buying any of it. She admitted that we’ve all made mistakes that we regret, but says Murphy took betrayal to another level when she hooked up with a “family friend.”

“How does a family kiss turn into a ‘I’m sorry” apology? What do you mean, you didn’t know he was married?

We all know that she [Lela Rochon] was married. And that was 20 years, that’s history. You don’t do that amongst friends. Because there’s no loyalty.”

LisaRaye didn’t go as far to call Murphy a homewrecker, but she made one thing perfectly clear: “I know that what she’s doing in people’s homes is just wrecking it.”

A$AP Rocky Officially Charged With Assault in Stockholm Brawl, Could Face Up to 2 Years in Prison

Swedish prosecutors have officially charged A$AP Rocky with assault following a street fight in Stockholm. The trial is expected to begin next week.

Prosecutors charged the rapper with assault causing actual bodily harm on Thursday (Jul. 25). The charge carries a 2-year maximum prison sentence. However, prosecutors have already stated they will NOT recommend the full sentence.

A$AP Rocky—whose real name is Rakim Mayers—will remain in jail until the trial begins on Tuesday and continues Thursday and Friday.

Four judges will hear the case. At least three are needed for a conviction. And in case of a tie, prosecutors can request a new trial.

Swedish public prosecutor Daniel Suneson says they rejected Rocky’s self-defense claim in the matter after reviewing video footage that has not been released online, witness statements, as well as other evidence.

This led them to charge Rocky and his two companions with assault for their part in a June 30th brawl with two fans.

According to the prosecutors’ evidence/investigation, Rocky and his crew beat one of the fans by taking him to the ground, kicking him, hitting him, and beating him with a glass bottle.

Court documents show Rocky admitted his role in the fight. “I got him down on the ground. I hit and kicked,” he reportedly told police.

Despite Rocky’s role, it’s believed the two fans—who prosecutors call “victims”—followed and harassed Rocky for several blocks despite the rapper repeatedly telling them to leave him and his crew alone. He even attempted to deescalate the situation saying no one wants to go to jail.

One of the fans threw a pair of headphones at Rocky’s bodyguard, cutting his head, which caused Rocky and his crew to finally snap.

However, prosecutors allege the brawl was prompted after the bodyguard pushed the fan and lifted him back the neck. Interestingly, the bodyguard has already been cleared and was not charged.

The “victim” who threw the headphones was detained, but prosecutors chose not to charge him either.

Rocky’s detainment in a Swedish prison for nearly three weeks without charge and in “inhumane conditions” has sparked outrage from the hip-hop community, many celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, and even President Trump.

Trump said he “personally vouched” for Rocky in a phone call with Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven. However, Löfven informed the president that he has little influence in the Swedish justice system.

“I will explain that the Swedish judicial system is independent,” Löfven said prior to the call. “In Sweden, everyone is equal before the law, and this includes visitors from other countries.”

When asked if Rocky had any response to Trump’s support, the rapper’s lawyer gave a generalized response.

“There has been a lot of support from a lot of different people,” his attorney said, “and [he] is of course very thankful for everybody that has reached out.”

A break-up can change a person. And it’s not uncommon for a woman to chop off all of her hair or dye it a drastically different color when she leaves a man.

So I guess that A1 Bentley is going through the male equivalent of whatever that process is, because now that he and his wife Lyrica Anderson are done, A1 is out here looking like Elton John (his words, not mine). In my opinion, he looks more like Ellen DeGeneres but hey, what do I know?

The blond part of this look isn’t really new as A1 has had blond dreadlocks and twists for years. What is new is the relaxed or pressed look he’s adopted and the lack of locks or twists.

Mo’Nique Says Her Beef With Oprah Stems From Her Bringing Her Parents on Her Show Without Telling Her First

It’s difficult to keep up with the laundry list of people who Mo’Nique is mad at, but one of the names that has been consistently at the top of that list for some time is none other than Oprah Winfrey’s.

Oprah and Mo’Nique famously worked together on the film that won Mo’Nique her Oscar: Precious.

While there were lots of details revealed about the pay discrepancies and what Mo’Nique feels like she was owed, her beef with Oprah stems in part from something else entirely.

Mo’Nique offered clarity in a sitdown interview with Comedy Hype, where she detailed how hurt and furious she was that her parents appeared on Oprah’s show without her knowledge and consent.

Long story short: Back in 2010, Oprah called Mo’Nique to give her a heads up that her brother, Gerald Imes, who’d molested her when they were kids, would be appearing on Oprah’s show to do a tell-all.

Mo’Nique did NOT want to appear on the show with him, but she gave Oprah her blessing to move forward with the show without her.

What Mo’Nique claims Oprah didn’t do is alert her to the fact that her mother, father and another brother would be appearing on the show alongside Gerald.

Apparently, this fact would’ve moved her to tell Oprah NOT to move ahead with the show as her strife with her parents is too raw for her to have aired out publicly.

“Now I begin to see commercials with my mother, with my brother, my father and my other brother.

“Now the reason why that means so much is because in the conversation we had about my brother, we then went deeper and we began to talk about our relationships with our mothers and our fathers, and I shared my relationship with her about my mother.

“I shared with her that me and my mother were not talking. I shared with her that we were in a really bad place. I shared with her that I was hurt and trying to figure this thing out.

“She never said my mother was coming on the show, because had she, Oprah Winfrey, said ‘I’m going to have your mother,’ I would have said, ‘Shut it down. I don’t need the world seeing how greedy my mother is. Shut that down.'”

At the time, Mo’Nique didn’t confront Oprah about her true feelings about the episode in which she had Mo’s family on. But Mo’Nique got her chance in 2015 at an Oscars event in honor of Lupita Nyong’o.

In front of other stars such as Alfre Woodard, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Lynn Whitfield, and Kerry Washington, Mo’Nique recounted how she confronted Oprah about her decision to do a show with her mother and father on it.

“You don’t understand what position you put me in by doing that, so now this is my moment to talk to you. And what she did was take the cowardly way out. She said, ‘If you think I did something wrong, I want to apologize.’

“And what my husband taught me a long time ago is an apology is not something you think you think you need to give if somebody else thinks you need to give it, it’s what you feel.'”

As for how long Mo’Nique plans on holding on to this beef with Oprah, it’s not changing anytime soon for her.

“Until that woman says ‘Let me apologize to you publicly,’ it will be ’til the day that I leave this earth, because what you did was malicious, and it was intentional, and it was ugly.”

On the one hand, I can see why Mo is upset. If she truly has a strained, toxic relationship with her parents, then I can see how putting her parents on a platform like The Oprah Winfrey Show exacerbated that situation.

But, at the same time, if you were cool with Oprah having your brother on as long as you weren’t involved in it, it’s not that far-fetched for Oprah to think that you’d be cool with your parents being involved too.

But still, if Oprah was less than transparent on purpose, then Mo’Nique’s hostility is somewhat understandable.

This is kind of messy, but what do y’all think? Did Oprah do something really dirty to Mo or is Mo’Nique blowing a misunderstanding way out of proportion?
