Original story: Remy Ma has surrendered to the custody of New York police to face an assault charge for allegedly punching her Love & Hip Hop co-star in the face.

TMZ reports that the rapper, accompanied by her attorney, turned herself in to police Wednesday (May 1) and was booked for misdemeanor assault.

As we previously reported, Remy’s fellow LHHNY castmate Brittney Taylor posted a video on Instagram showing off a black eye she said was given to her by Remy.

Taylor claimed Remy punched her in the eye backstage during a concert at Irving Plaza near Union Square on April 16th. Taylor went to Mt. Sinai Hospital and reported the punch to police the next day.

“So, here am I on my way to a very important meeting and it’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night,” Taylor wrote in her now-deleted IG post. “I didn’t wanna bring it to social media because It’s pretty embarrassing and not a good look tbh. I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this?”

Taylor later told the New York Daily News that a misunderstanding between her and Remy led to the alleged assault.

According to Taylor, she was telling Remy about how she “defended” her stepdaughter Dejanae (Remy’s husband Papoose’s daughter) from an abusive man who was physically assaulting her.

“What happened with me and Dej in Miami is I saved her—I saved her life, and [Remy] got aggressive [when Brittany told her at Irving],” she said. “She was like, ‘That’s not what I heard,’ and she punched me in the face.”

Brittney said she feels like the incident set a bad example for young girls looking up to them.

“I just don’t feel like it’s okay for people to put their hands on someone that’s not being malicious to them, that’s being genuine,” Taylor said. “She’s supposed to be someone with the status and power that she can use for good or bad.

“She shouldn’t be punching someone—punching someone so hard in the face to the point that here we are four days later and my eye’s only getting worse. It really hurts.”

Remy Ma, whose real name is Reminisce Mackie (née Smith), served six years in prison for shooting her former friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, in the stomach outside a Manhattan nightclub in 2007 after Remy accused Joseph of stealing $1,000 from her purse.

Remy was released from prison in 2014 and was still on parole until August 1st when she allegedly punched Taylor last month.

It’s possible Remy—who just welcomed a daughter with her husband Papoose in December—could be sent back to prison if she’s convicted of assaulting Taylor.

Last week, Remy was spotted wearing an ankle monitor in a series of photos she shared on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Taylor is reportedly preparing to file a civil lawsuit against Remy, claiming she suffered serious personal injuries, and Taylor has asked police to preserve all evidence of the alleged assault, including surveillance footage.

Brittney’s attorney, Sanford Rubenstein, said Brittney is a victim, and “this is real life, not reality TV,” according to TMZ.

Rubenstein also reportedly stressed that Taylor “has confidence in our system of justice and will continue to fully cooperate with the authorities.”

Teairra Mari Trolls 50 Cent By Sending Him $0.50 of the $30K She Owes Him Via Western Union

It looks like Teairra Mari just put herself on a payment plan to pay 50 Cent the $30K she’s legally obligated to pay him.

In an Instagram video she posted on Monday, Teairra walked into a check cashing store to wire Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson some money via Western Union. Emptying out her pockets and purse, Teairra was able to scrape together $0.50!

Since Teairra and 50 have been trolling each other for the past few months, you know the G-Unit rapper had to respond.

“Is this Teairra … didn’t recognize her with out spunk on her face,” Fitty wrote in a now-deleted IG post. “This is a blatant disrespect to the court. The Law, is The Law.”

The “spunk” remark was definitely a low (FYI: “spunk” is British slang for semen), given this beef between them all started after 50 Cent shared images from her leaked sex tape in 2017.

Teairra had named 50 in her revenge porn lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad. However, the case was ultimately dropped and a judged ruled that Teairra must pay $30K worth of 50’s legal fees.

The Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood star has repeatedly said that she doesn’t have the money to pay Fitty, even dropping a diss track “I Ain’t Got It.”

50 retaliated by trademarking her catchphrase and releasing his own line of “I Ain’t Got It” merch.

An arrest warrant was also reportedly issued for Teairra after publicly refusing to comply with the judge’s ruling by not paying the money. However, she recently denied this (as well as his claims that he trademarked her “I Ain’t Got” catchphrase) reporting in an IG post:

Geto Boys Rapper Bushwick Bill Diagnosed With Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Bushwick Bill, one of the founding members of the legendary rap group Geto Boys, has revealed that he’s battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The 52-year-old told TMZ he was diagnosed with the disease back in February and has been undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments, but he says it’s too early to know how his body has been responding to the chemo.

The rapper said his diagnosis was a shocker because he was getting tested for months for a mass on his pancreas that doctors originally said was benign.

“We see a mass on your pancreas and we can’t understand it,” the 52-year-old rapper recalled doctors telling him. “It’s not alcohol, it’s not sugar, it’s not diabetes. They went through all kinds of stuff. And finally, by February 8, they said it was stage 4 [pancreatic] cancer.”

Bushwick said he initially kept his diagnosis private, only telling those closest to him, but he’s now ready to tell the world.

“I figure keeping it to myself is not really helping nobody, and I’m not really afraid of dying because if anyone knows anything about me from [his 1992 song] ‘Ever So Clear,’ I died and came back already in June 1991, so I know what it’s like on the other side,” he said, referencing the time he accidentally shot himself in the eye.

Bushwick said he’s working on new music so that in case he does lose his battle, he can leave a legacy behind for his children.

“The reason why I’m doing three albums right now is because I notice when most celebrities pass, they really don’t have nothing set up for their children and everything’s in disarray,” he said.

“So, I figure old music will sell, yes, but if I have new music for them and I have a book and I have a documentary and I have any other endeavors that I get into now, at least they’ll have residual income from those things instead of just knowing that I’m their dad and my old records are selling. I’d rather just know for sure that I did my part.”

Well, this is quite the shocker. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Eva Marcille is pregnant with baby number three!

Eva is currently 17 weeks pregnant with her third child, her second with husband Michael Sterlin.

The couple exclusively revealed the news to People magazine with a cute photoshoot showing Eva drinking from a smoothie glass in bed while her baby bump, complete with a drawn-on face, “sips” from its own straw, using her belly button for its mouth.

“Michael and I couldn’t be more excited to announce baby No. 3 is on board!” Marcille said about her new bundle of joy, who will join the couple’s 1-year-old son Michael Todd Jr. and Marcille’s 5-year-old daughter Marley Rae from her previous relationship with singer/professional psycho Kevin McCall.

“Looks like little Michael Jr. is going from the baby to the middle child, and Marley will be the boss of them all!” Eva joked.

“It’s amazing that God shared his most amazing superpower with us: the power to create and give life,” Sterling said. “I count it a great blessing to grow our family with the love of my life, Eva Marcille Sterling, and we look forward to welcoming another generation of hope into this world.”

Eva and Michael welcomed Michael Jr. in April 2018 and wed the following October in a private ceremony in Atlanta. The wedding, which was attended by all of Eva’s RHOA cast mates, later aired on television.

Casting rumors suggest Eva will return to RHOA for Season 12, so it looks like she already has a storyline to work with.

Raz B Arrested for Domestic Assault & Held Without Bail After Allegedly Strangling His Girlfriend

Raz B is facing a domestic violence charge in Minneapolis after he was arrested early Wednesday morning (May 1).

TMZ reports that the B2K singer was booked on a single charge of domestic assault by strangulation Wednesday after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend.

Cops reportedly took photos of the woman’s alleged injuries as evidence.

#FortheDChallenge Creator GameOva Reedy Put Her 5-Year-Old in a Lyft by Himself & Was Arrested for Child Desertion

One of the big viral trends of 2017 was something called #ForTheDChallenge (For the D Challenge) which went viral when various celebrities joined in on the fun.

To keep it mildly PG, the D that is being referenced is the male sex organ, aka the DICK, and the viral challenge had people rhyming about the absurd things they would do for the D or, if they had a penis, the absurd things people have done for their D.

Call me tardy for the party, but I never knew who the originator of this challenge was, but apparently, it was GameOva Reedy, a New Orleans-based bounce rapper.

But now, we know her full government name, which is Reiona Oliver, thanks to the fact that she was arrested and charged with child desertion after she put her 5-year-old son, Riley, in a Lyft by himself.

According to Sheriff James Pohlmann through CBS News 4 WWL-TV, the driver said he went to the residence and the woman, who was later identified as Reiona “GameOva Reedy” Oliver, placed the child in the vehicle and said the child would be riding alone.

When the driver told Oliver he couldn’t transport the child without an adult, Ms. Oliver allegedly walked back inside of the house and would not come back out.

Supposedly, GameOva tried to justify her decision by saying that she was “sick” and couldn’t take her son to school, but that doesn’t add up. If you’re sick, ride in the Lyft with your son, drop him off and go back home. Or if you’re that damn sick, ask a friend to ride with him. Or keep him home with you!

Luckily for Reedy, the judge took pity on her and ended up letting her off the hook with a warning, which we found out via her Instagram posts, which updated us on the case.

The scary thing is that GameOva Reedy has an infant son named Euro under her care in addition to her 5-year-old son Riley.

No word if the boys share the same father, and my heart goes out to single mothers struggling, but it’s clear that Reedy is not equipped to handle these two kids and make the wisest decisions when it comes to their welfare.

Also, Lyft/Uber are not your babysitters so please stop putting your babies in cars with strangers when you ain’t in the damn vehicle with them. This is not a game. Some girl got KILLED while riding in a car that she thought was an Uber just this year. Stop playing.

Young Buck’s Alleged Transgender Ex Releases Diss Track While 50 Cent Points & Laughs on Instagram

Forgive us for not paying attention to the activity surrounding the former members of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew, but who knew that Young Buck was out here getting his Bobby V on last year?

Apparently, in September last year, there was some video of a man that was allegedly Young Buck receiving oral sex from a transgender woman who is also an aspiring rapper who goes by the name of Glamour Purfek.

Young Buck vehemently denied he was the one in the video, but more embarrassingly, Purfek released audio of Buck calling her and begging her to take the post down.

Now, I’m gonna say that the fact that Young Buck was able to contact Purfek and tell her that he was willing to pay her off to take the post down points to the fact that the hookup between Purfek and Buck was real.

Cause if it wasn’t real, how the hell would he have gotten in contact with her and why (and how) would you pay her to take it down?

In the audio clip, Buck vehemently and emphatically says “I ain’t f**kin’ gay!”

Well, I don’t know if the check didn’t clear, or if Purfek wants to draw more money out of Buck, but Purfek has dropped a diss track blasting Young Buck to the tune of his G-Unit smash “Shorty Wanna Ride With Me.”

In the diss track, Purfek claims she was the one who gave Buck the idea to do his Valentine’s Day mixtape, Box of Chocolates. I’m not sure why Purfek is bragging on that. No one cared about that mixtape and it didn’t shake the internet’s table in any way, shape or form.

But here’s another scintillating tidbit from Purfek’s Young Buck diss track:

Look. It goes without saying that Glamour Purfek’s rap game is absolute trash. So, as far as her aspirations of being a rapper, she should let that go ASAP.

But Young Buck is gonna have to come up with a much better explanation for why this transgender woman has so much dirt and so many recordings of him if he wasn’t in a romantic or sexual relationship with her.

Of course, the main thing holding Buck back from admitting his truth is hip-hop culture at large, which is steeped in homophobia and transphobia.

None of which is more personified than in the form of his G-Unit boss 50 Cent, who has been mercilessly mocking Buck about the embarrassing situation with Glamour Purfek since last year.

Now if you’re wondering, ‘Wait, why is 50 Cent firing at his own guy?’ Well, it’s cause 50 Cent is petty and beefs with every damn body who dares to get close to him.

When the transgender accusations hit the web in the fall of last year, 50 started clowning Buck, unfollowed him and blocked him. By January, Buck began to accuse 50 of stealing his money, and as of February, Buck was openly questioning whether he was still under contract with G-Unit Records, given his strained relationship with 50.

So, you know when Purfek’s new diss track dropped, Curtis had to give his two (or fifty) cents, and he didn’t disappoint.

The shooting at UNCC was first reported around 6:50 p.m. EST on Tuesday, April 30th. Authorities believe there’s only one suspect and no ongoing threat.

A witness who live-tweeted during the shooting described the situation as a “very chaotic scene, everyone terrified, classrooms are locked, students are inside.”

The witness said one of the wounded students was from Saudi Arabia but “I have to tell you it has nothing to do with Muslim or immigrants, it was a random shooting like many other school shootings.” He added that the gunman was apprehended after running out of bullets.

Another witness told said she was in class listening to presentation when “someone opened a door and started firing.”

Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade & Other Celebs Donate Money for Bullied Gay Teen Nigel Shelby’s Funeral

Celebrities have come to the aid of the mother whose 15-year-old son recently committed suicide after being bullied.

TMZ is reporting the Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Ludacris, and Janelle Monae are among a group of celebrities that have donated money to help cover the funeral of LGBTQ teen Nigel Shelby.

Though TMZ’s source did not reveal exactly how much the celebs donated, the source stated that it was enough to cover Nigel’s funeral, tombstone, and a separate amount for his mother, Camika Shelby.

The donations were organized by Lena Waithe and Atlanta restaurateur Pinky Cole, who enlisted their famous friends for help.

Nigel’s heartbreaking story rocked his Alabama community and the nation.

The openly gay teen took his own life earlier this month after enduring anti-gay bullying at his high school. His mother says the bullying and the struggle to accept himself led to long bouts of depression.

“Nigel was a sweetheart. He loved everybody, he would help anybody. He was an angel,” Camika told ABC News. “I just wish people could’ve seen how special he was while he was still here.”

“I’m truly blessed that I got to spend 15 years with this child, but it also makes me so sad to know that he’s no longer with me,” Camika added. “He was my motivation to keep going. He always kept me lifted up, so to not have that anymore is heartbreaking.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up in Nigel’s honor. It has received nearly $40K in just 11 days, exceeding its initial $26K goal.

As TMZ notes, Nigel died just 10 days after Dwyane Wade’s 11-year-old son Zion attended his first pride festival. Stepmom Gabrielle Union accompanied him.

Waka Flocka Flame Cancels Concert at UNC Charlotte After Mass Shooting on Campus

Waka Flocka Flame’s free concert for students at UNC Charlotte has been canceled following a deadly shooting on campus.

Waka was scheduled to perform Tuesday night (Apr. 30) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’ Jerry Richardson Stadium, but the concert was scrapped after a student opened fire on campus, killing two students and injuring four others. The campus remains on lockdown after the shooting.

2 Dead, 4 Injured in Shooting at UNC Charlotte; Suspected Shooter in Custody

Two people were killed and four others were injured Tuesday (Apr. 20) in a shooting on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The suspected shooter, believed to be a student, is in police custody, WSOC reports.

The school’s alert system warned students on Twitter that reports of shots fired began just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Fantasia Confirms Song With Brandy & Jazmine Sullivan Will Be on Her New Album

New music is on the way from Fantasia, Brandy and Jazmine Sullivan. And, guess what? it’s all going to be on one album!

Fantasia is gearing up for the release of her upcoming single, “Enough.”

When she hopped on Instagram Live to talk with fans about the single, IG user @Team_Fantasia got the singer to share a few details about her forthcoming album, and that’s when she dropped Brandy and Sullivan’s names.

Tasia explained that she will collaborate with the two amazing vocalists and that she “had to” get them on the album.

“They are both my favorites. I turn into a little groupie when I see Jazmine. I love her and I love Bran,” she said.

“Empire” Renewed for Season 6, Fox Says “No Plans” for Jussie Smollett to Return

Fox has announced that they are renewing Empire for Season 6, but Jussie Smollett won’t be coming back to the show next season … at least not at first.

Via Entertainment Weekly:

“By mutual agreement, the studio has negotiated an extension to Jussie Smollett’s option for season 6, but at this time there are no plans for the character of Jamal to return to Empire,” Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV said in a statement.

Still one of the network’s signature and highest-rated series, Empire was experiencing a bit of a creative rebound when the news shifted to Smollett, who, back in January, claimed to be the victim of a racial and homophobic attack.

The next few months featured numerous twists and turns to the case, with Smollett being arrested for filing a false police report, only for the charges to eventually be dropped.

During all of this, Fox made the decision to remove from Smollett from the final two episodes of season 5. In what now looks to officially be Smollett’s swan song, his character Jamal was given a possible happy ending with his wedding to Kai.

If it was up to his castmates, then Smollett would return. Empire stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P Henson, Bryshere Y. Gray, Trai Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, and Nicole Ari Parker recently penned a letter to Fox and the show’s creative team asking that their costar be reinstated.

Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Doesn’t Think His Baby Mama is Capable of Taking Care of His Daughter Emani

Nipsey Hussle’s sister has reportedly filed paperwork to obtain legal custody of the rapper’s daughter Emani.

According to TMZ, Samantha Smith filed legal docs in L.A. County Superior court seeking legal guardianship of 10-year-old Emani Asghedom.

Sources close to the family say that Samantha doesn’t think her niece’s mother—Nipsey’s first baby mama, Tanisha Asghedom—is capable of caring for her.

Nipsey was reportedly Emani’s primary caregiver before his tragic death, and Samantha said she helped take care of Emani and wants “to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with Nipsey’s family.

Nipsey fathered another child, his 2-year-old son Kross, with his girlfriend Lauren London, however, Kross isn’t the subject of the conservatorship as he lives with his mother.

Emani’s mom, Tanisha Asghedom, has been on the blogs a lot following Nipsey’s passing.

After his funeral, fans wondered why she wasn’t invited on stage to pay tribute like everyone else in the family. And when she posted her own tribute on Instagram, trolls slammed her, saying she was just clout chasing.

Nipsey died March 31st after he was gunned down outside his The Marathon clothing store in Crenshaw.

On April 2nd, Samantha posted a tribute to Nipsey on Instagram and wrote: “I got Lauren. I got Emani. I got Kross.”

Soulja Boy Sentenced to 240 Days in Jail for Violating Probation

Soulja Boy will spend the next 8 months behind bars after a judge ordered him to serve jail time for violating his probation.

Soulja appeared in court Tuesday (Apr. 30) and a judge determined that he violated his probation by getting caught with gun ammo at his home during a police raid.

The judge reportedly told Soulja he considered giving him two years in state prison, but decided to go easy on him, acknowledging that he’s missed out on business opportunities while behind bars.

As punishment for not sticking to the terms of his probation, the judge sentenced him to 240 days in jail and 265 days of community service once he gets out. He’ll get credit for time served.

Soulja was arrested earlier this month and held without bail after a judge said he failed to complete his court-ordered community service and conspired to falsify evidence that showed that he had completed it.

On top of that, his house in Agoura Hills, California was raided by police in February to investigate a claim by an ex-girlfriend that he’d tied her up and held her hostage in his garage.

During the raid, police found ammo, which was bad news because Soulja’s currently on probation for a 2014 weapons case and isn’t allowed to have guns or ammunition in his possession.

Unless something changes (sometimes California inmates are released early due to overcrowding), Soulja will be released sometime in December 2019.

K. Michelle Crashes Country Concert, Says She Sings “Better Than Any White Motherfking Country Singer” & She’s “The Next Motherfking Taylor Swift”

In a world where Lil Nas X has subverted norms about genres and teamed up with Billy Ray Cyrus to top the Billboard Hot 100, it’s understandable that other black musicians would see the country music genre as ripe fruit, fresh for the picking.

And that kind of genre experimentation is fantastic. The idea that black musicians can ONLY do hip-hop or R&B is stifling, racist and limiting. But K. Michelle, who is Tennessee-born and raised, has decided that the best way for her to make her mark on the country music industry is by pulling a drive-by rant during country musician Tyler Ryan’s set.

In her rant, K. Michelle proclaimed that her talents as a country singer would not go undenied.

“I am here in Nashville, I just got done sitting down with Mr. Chris Stapleton, you guys can pull it up… And I am a Black girl who sings better than any white mother*cking country singer in Nashville right now. I have a ton of your favorite people behind me. So when I say I am the next motherf*cking Taylor Swift, it’s not a motherf**king joke.”

So… Kimberly. Name dropping people and cursing at them is not gonna get you anywhere near a country music chart.

And while I’m no Taylor Swift fan, one thing that girl is is very successful and you’re gonna have to put WAAAAAAYYY more respeck on Taylor’s name before you run around calling yourself the Next Great Swift.

Comparing yourself to Taylor, who is decidedly far more of a pop singer than a country singer these days, is setting yourself up for failure.

Surprisingly, Tyler Ryan had K. Michelle’s back though, even though it was his set she rudely interrupted.

Call me old school, but rather than fussing at folks, wouldn’t K. Michelle be better off putting a decent country song out and allow the music to do the talking?

After all, it’s not like Lil Nas X sought anyone’s permission to do a country song and its success proved the so-called gatekeepers of country music don’t have the power they thought they had.

Kandi Confirms She Will Leave RHOA If Phaedra Comes Back: “I Just Won’t Be A Part of That”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta may have one less housewife for season 12. Kandi Burruss remains adamant that she will leave the show if her ex-buddy returns.

Burruss appeared on People Now on Monday (Apr. 29) and gave a flat out “No” when asked if she’d be okay if Phaedra Parks came back to the RHOA.

“For me, it’s like, if that’s what they want to do, that’s fine. But I just won’t be a part of that,” she said.

Kandi went on to explain that she’d be glad to step away from RHOA if producers really want Phaedra for another season.

“I don’t have problem with her being a part [of the show], I just don’t want us to have to deal with each other,” she said. “I would take my break and let her do it if that’s what it is. It’s no big deal.”

As we recently reported, rumors suggest Phaedra is in talks to rejoin the show after having her peach snatched once season 10 wrapped.

Kandi and Phaedra were once close reality show friends, but fell out after Phaedra admitted to lying on her and spreading a rumor that Kandi and husband, Todd Tucker, had attempted to date rape fellow housewife Porsha Williams in their “sex dungeon.”

NeNe Leakes is also reportedly lobbying for Phaedra to return in order to have an ally against returning housewife Kenya Moore.

Kandi also let it be known on People Now that she’s also not checking for NeNe at the moment.

“She’s the last person I look at to validate me,” she said when referencing the moment NeNe claimed Kandi was “not important” during the season 11 reunion. “What [NeNe] says is not really important to me, either.”
