Sister of Ahmaud Arbery’s Killer Posted Graphic Photo of Arbery’s Dead Body on Snapchat Because She’s a “Huge Fan of True Crime”

The sister of the man charged with hunting down and fatally shooting Ahmaud Arbery admitted to posting photos of Arbery’s body on social media after the killing because she’s a fan of “true-crime,” a new report says.

30-year-old Lindsay McMichael, Travis McMichael’s sister, said she posted a graphic, unedited photo of Arbery’s blood-soaked body lying in the middle of the street in Brunswick, Georgia on Snapchat, but said she didn’t mean any harm when she did it.

“I had no nefarious or malicious intent when I posted that picture,” she told UK newspaper The Sun Monday (May 18). “The thing is I’m a huge fan of true crime—I listen to four or five podcasts a week—I’m constantly watching that sort of thing.”

She added: “It was more of a, ‘Holy sh**, I can’ believe this has happened. It was absolutely poor judgment.”

Though Lindsay McMichael says she had no ill-intent when she shared the image, an attorney for Arbery’s family called the photo “deeply disturbing.”

“The picture Lindsay McMichael posted was very disturbing and very disturbing to the family,” S. Lee Merritt told The Sun.

“It also highlights that there are probably more video and more images of before, during and after Ahmaud’s murder – these images aren’t meant for public consumption in this way. It actually fits the pattern of the McMichael family engaging in a weird, violent form of voyeurism.”

Former cop Gregory McMichael, 64, and his 34-year-old son Travis McMichael—Lindsay’s father and brother—were arrested and charged with murder in Arbery’s February 23rd shooting death.

Mugshots: Gregory & Travis McDaniel

Police said the white father-son duo chased 25-year-old Arbery after seeing him at a construction site in the Satilla Shores neighborhood where the McMichaels reside.

After confronting Arbery, who was black and unarmed, Travis McMichael shot him twice with a shotgun at close range during a brief struggle, which was captured on video.

The McMichaels weren’t charged in Arbery’s shooting death until a video of the fatal incident leaked online earlier this month once the Georgia Bureau of Investigation took over the case.

Ironically, Gregory McMichael was the one who leaked the footage to a local radio station because he thought it would exonerate him and his son.

“First you have (Gregory) McMichael sharing with a news station a video of the murder, then you have his daughter sharing an image of Ahmaud’s bullet-ridden body on Snapchat,” Merritt said. “It’s deeply disturbing behavior.”

Lindsay defended her father and brother, saying that they never “meant to kill anybody” and always “loved” her boyfriends who weren’t white.

“I’ve never dated anyone of the same race since I was 19, and my dad and my brother loved everyone I’ve ever dated as if they were their own son or brother,” she said. “These are the people I brought home with what my dear mama cooked for and gave everything to.”

She said she was watching a movie at home in her PJs when the fatal shooting happened, and pointed out how her brother looked “desperate” when she saw him after the killing.

“I’ve seen my brother in his happiest moments—I was there when his child was born and I’ve seen him in distress and I know that look,” she told The Sun. “It wasn’t like some glory thing, like, ‘I stalked and then got the kill that I was hoping for.'”

She added: “It was absolute f***king panic … I really do believe that things just escalated so fast. I will until the day that I die believe that he had no intention of malice like that.”

Lindsay McMichael told The Sun that she feels sorry for Ahmaud’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, who she said she “thinks about every day” along with all of Arbery’s family and loved ones.

“His poor mama, I’m not a mother but I couldn’t imagine losing my child. I think about her every day and the grief and despair she must be feeling,” she said.

“The words that I would love to say to his family would not even touch the amount of sorrow that I feel. I can’t say I’m sorry enough.”

Lindsay said she hasn’t spoken to her brother or father since their arrest, however, her family has received threats of violence and rape since the shooting made national headlines.

“We’re not the ones on trial here—my dad and my brother are and yes, I don’t think that they were beating the hood of the truck and saying, ‘Let’s go get this person,'” she told the UK newspaper. “I think that things just really escalated. I just want people to realize we’re not monsters.”

Former Bachelorette Faces Fiery Backlash, Apologizes After Saying N-Word While Singing DaBaby Song: “There is No Excuse … I Am Terribly Sorry”

Former Bachelorette star Hannah Brown is apologizing after saying the N-word during a recent Instagram Live session.

Brown was broadcasting live to her 2.8 million followers on Saturday (May 16), and was attempting to sing the lyrics to DaBaby’s “Rockstar” when she said the racial slur.

The 25-year-old seemingly did not realize she had said the word until moments later when her followers began to call her out.

“I did? I’m so sorry,” she said at the time. “I was singing a song, I’m so sorry.”

“I don’t think I said that word, but now I’m like… Oh God. I’ve never used that word,” she continued. “I’ve never called anybody that…You can think I’m something that I’m not, but I’m not that.”

However, the quick remorse was not enough to stop the backlash that came from social media and stars within the Bachelor Nation.

Brown deleted the video that contained the slur and issued a written official apology on Sunday on Instagram Stories.

“I owe you all a major apology. There is no excuse and I will not justify what I said. I have read your messages and seen the hurt I have caused. I own it all. I am terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private, this language is unacceptable. I promise to do better.”

Rachel Lindsay—the first black Bachelorette—personally reached out to Brown and was incensed over the situation, especially after Brown chose to issue a written apology and not a video following their private conversation.

“I’m personally offended by what was done,” Lindsay began in a video response of her own.

“You know, it’s easy to make a statement. It’s easy to hide behind words…[But] when you’re bold enough to say the word on your platform, then you need to be bold enough to use your face on camera and apologize the same way you said the word.”

Former Bachelor contestant Bekah Martinez was also upset that Brown cavalierly said the N-word, noting that Brown had no issue self-censoring the F-words in the song.

Martinez wrote on her IG Stories:

“How are people still gonna defend CELEBS with access to SOOO much privilege, knowledge, and education saying the N-word…even if it’s ‘just the lyrics to a song’…especially when that person had the wherewithal to skip over the F-word lyrics first.

“We’ve GOT to hold people accountable to do better otherwise we’re continuing to prioritize the feelings of white people (and someone we ‘stan’) over ending our country’s loooong history of casual racism and flippant anti-blackness.”

Brown did have some people come to her defense, including rumored ex, Tyler Cameron.

“HB is not racist. I know,” he wrote on social media. “We need to lift HB up from this. She is learning and growing just like every single one of us.”

WATCH: Impromptu Block Party in Myrtle Beach Stops Traffic on Busy Street, ZERO Social Distancing & No Masks!

South Carolina is among a number of states that have recently lifted lockdown restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic … and people are already flocking to Myrtle Beach in droves. And judging by video footage that went viral, there isn’t a lot of social distancing being practiced and people are NOT wearing masks.

The video, which was originally shared on Facebook Sunday evening (May 17), shows a large group of people on mopeds, motorcycles and golf carts gathering in the middle of the street and playing loud music, putting a complete stop to traffic for SEVERAL minutes along Ocean Boulevard (aka “The Strip”) right in front of Beach House Bar & Grill.

It’s a wild scene … the revelers are standing on top of golf carts and partying it up with absolutely no regard to proper social distancing guidelines and not a mask in sight.

Then, about three minutes into the footage, the crowd scatters like roaches after someone yells “Police coming! Police coming!”

https://www.facebook.com/Yarields/videos/10158644086101454/

It was also reported a few hours later that there was a shooting in the area that left several injuries and resulted in four suspects being detained.

If you didn’t know any better, the way folks are out here turning up in public … you would think the coronavirus pandemic is officially over and there’s nothing to worry about.

And while we all wish that were true, the sad reality is that the pandemic isn’t even CLOSE to being over with, and videos like this prove that these states are opening up way too quickly.

People have been bored in the house and in the house bored for so long, they don’t even know how to act in public during a global pandemic.

All of this comes after local and state officials lifted restrictions in an effort to boost South Carolina’s economy following a nearly two-month shutdown caused by the coronavirus.

The city had an order restricting hotels from accepting new reservations, but that expired last Thursday (May 14), which allowed tourists from all over the country to travel to and stay in Myrtle Beach.

Last Monday (May 11), S.C. Governor Henry McMaster eased restrictions on indoor dining, allowing restaurants to operate with limited capacity.

Even though they’ve lifted the restrictions, state officials are still urging people to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Black Delivery Driver Prevented From Leaving Gated Community for An Hour While Questioned By HOA President

A delivery driver in Oklahoma City who was just trying to do his job was stopped and questioned inside of a gated community by the HOA president on Monday (May 11), according to reports.

Travis Miller, who is a black man, was making a delivery for the home appliance and furniture store he works for along with his African American co-worker.

When the duo attempted to leave the community after the drop-off, David Stewart, who is white, took it upon himself to block the two from leaving with his car.

The incident was captured on Miller’s Facebook Live video, in which Stewart can be heard saying, “I want to know where you’re going,” to Miller and his co-worker.

https://www.facebook.com/tjmiller63/videos/10163890984630604/?t=95

“It’s none of your business. I’m going out, that’s where I’m going,” Miller responded.

Stewart then continued to prevent the two from leaving, continuing his line of questioning and demanding to know how Miller got the access code to the gated community.

After thirty minutes, another homeowner joined Stewart and also began questioning the driver.

“All we want to know is why you’re here and who gave you the gate code. That’s all we need to know,” he can be heard saying in the video.

At one point, the two men claimed to have called the police, but no authorities showed up at the scene. However, the move prompted Miller to call 911 himself, according to reports.

“He said that he called the cops back and let them know that everything was clear, but I didn’t want to leave and have it seem like I was fleeing the scene or anything like that,” Miller explained to the dispatcher.

The incident was especially tense for Miller because troubles in his personal life already had him on edge.

“I just know that emotionally, it was hard to maintain restraint, especially when I’m dealing with death in the family, two family members within two days of each other,” he told KFOR. “I just did the best I could to make sure I didn’t make a bad situation worse.”

Miller managed to maintain his cool and just gripped the steering, kept his seat belt on, and locked the doors so as not to escalate the situation.

“I knew if I get out this truck, no matter what happened, I would have been in the wrong,” he said. “I always say to myself, ‘I’m going to go home to my wife and my kids,'” Miller said.

After about an hour, the two community residents finally relented, but only after the customer who Miller delivered items to finally stepped up and let them know of the situation.

Amid Global Pandemic, Jeff Bezos on Track to Become World’s First Trillionaire & Twitter is NOT Here For It

As the world economy struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic and people across the world face financial hardships, Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon and the world’s third-richest human being, continues to thrive.

According to Comparisum, a company that allows businesses to compare different products, Bezos is on pace to become the world’s first trillionaire, reports say.

Their calculations say if Amazon continues at the rate of growth it’s seeing, Bezos, who Forbes lists as currently having over $143 billion, will reach the be the first member of the four comma club by the year 2026.

As the news spread, it drew severe backlash on social media from people who point out the financial disparity between the world’s richest individuals and the majority of us who are struggling to make ends meet as unemployment continues to be on the rise.

Bezos’ trek to a trillion comes as his company faces criticisms of how it’s treating its workforce.

Protestors organized as recently as May 1st to express dissatisfaction over “continuing failure to provide adequate protection in the workplace,” news reports say.

Amazon responded to the protests with a released statement claiming they are doing everything to provide safe working conditions for their employees:

“Since the early days of this situation, we have worked closely with health authorities to respond proactively, ensuring we can continue to serve communities while taking care of our associates and teams. We have also implemented proactive measures at our facilities to protect employees including increased cleaning at all facilities, maintaining social distance in our sites, and adding distance between drivers and customers when making deliveries.”

The news of Bezos’ fortunate influx of money also follows a recent announcement that Amazon would be ending wage increases and double overtime pay next month.

Love & Hip Hop’s Maurice “Mo” Fayne Arrested for Fraud After Spending COVID-19 Relief Loan on Rolls-Royce, Jewelry & Child Support

Maurice “Mo” Fayne is in big trouble with the feds and federal government. The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star and former fiancée of Karlie Redd was arrested for fraud after misusing Paycheck Protection Program funds for personal use.

Fayne was charged with federal bank fraud after allegedly spending the majority of a $2 million PPP loan—intended for business purposes—on expensive jewelry, a Rolls-Royce, and even child support payments.

As part of the government’s COVID-19 relief effort for small businesses, Fayne applied for a forgivable $3,750,500 PPE loan for his Flame Trucking company in April.

He was ultimately granted $2,045,800 and the loan is only to be used to maintain payroll, make mortgage payments, lease payments, and utility payments.

However, federal agents discovered Fayne has misappropriated nearly $1.5 million of the loan.

Within days of receiving the money, the reality star bought $85,000 worth of jewelry, which included a Rolex watch, a 5-carat diamond ring, and a diamond bracelet—all for himself.

He also leased a $503,000 Rolls-Royce, paid $40,000 in child support, and made other loan payments.

Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta Chris Hacker said in a statement:

“At a time when small businesses are struggling for survival, we cannot tolerate anyone driven by personal greed, who misdirects federal emergency assistance earmarked for keeping businesses afloat.”

Fayne told federal agents last week that he only used the PPP loan to “pay payroll and other business expenses.”

The court document also states that “Fayne expressly denied that he used any of the PPP loan proceeds to pay his personal debts.”

However, when agents arrived at  his home on Monday (May 11), Fayne admitted that he used the loan money to buy the new jewelry and “kinda, sorta, not really” used it to lease the Rolls-Royce.

Agents also found $80,000 in cash at the home and $9,400 in Fayne’s pockets.

The document states: “Fayne told the agents that he believed he had the right to use part of the PPP loan proceeds for ‘other business purposes’ and for ‘working capital.'”

Fayne’s attorney Tanya Miller called the situation “considerable confusion” in a statement.

“There has been considerable confusion among small business owners about PPP guidelines—particularly around the question of whether and how business owners are permitted to pay themselves a salary or take an owner’s draw. I hope these issues to be better fleshed out in the weeks and months to come.”

Fayne was released on a $10,000 bond on Wednesday.

The investigation into Fayne’s loan usage is part of the Trump administration reviewing all COVID-19 related PPP loans over $2 million after it was revealed that large companies like Shake Shack and the Los Angeles Lakers had also received loans through the program.

Sixth Trans Woman Murdered in U.S. Within Weeks, Arrested Suspect Says He Was Sent by God to Kill Her

The alarming number of trans women murdered in the United States this year continues to rise.

20-year-old Helle Jae O’Regan was stabbed to death last week inside a San Antonio, Texas barbershop. O’Regan becomes the sixth trans woman to be killed in just five weeks, and the 11th for the year.

On Wednesday (May 6), O’Regan was working in Diesel Barbershop to prepare for its Friday reopening.

Though the shop was closed, another employee allowed Damion Campbell to enter the shop after he claimed he wanted to schedule an appointment.

Surveillance video shows Campbell, 42, exiting the shop and returning with a gun and knife. He forced the three employees into the back of the shop, claiming that God had sent him to kill them.

He placed O’Regan into a chokehold, causing her to go unconscious and stabbed her to death.

Campbell also stabbed another employee several times. However, she was able to escape with an unharmed co-worker and call for help.

Campbell was arrested on the same day as the stabbing and was charged with murder.

Police do NOT believe Campbell targeted O’Regan because of her gender identity at this time, but the trans woman’s death is counted among the disturbing rise in violence against trans women.

CEO of Diesel Barbershop Shayne Brown wrote on Facebook that Campbell’s attack was not motivated by money.

“Attempts were made to give the man whatever he wanted cash, equipment, or whatever it took to get him out of the shop. The man made it clear that he wasn’t there for money.

“He then began asking the employees: ‘What have you done wrong? What have you done wrong? God sent me here to kill you because you have done something wrong! What have you done wrong?’ over and over again while forcing them to the back of the shop.”

Tori Cooper, a Human Rights Campaign director, said in a statement the recent string of trans women murders across the U.S. and Puerto Rico is “an epidemic of violence that can no longer be ignored.”

“We must all ask ourselves today: ‘What am I doing to ensure a world where a person’s gender identity is not a potential death sentence?'”

In a tweet earlier this week, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said “it is our moral obligation” to end violence against the trans community, specifically transgender people of color who are attacked at higher rates.

Republican Official Defends Racist Meme of Black Kids Cheering “We Gon’ Get Free Money” During COVID-19 Pandemic

A Republican Indiana representative is facing backlash and calls to resign after posting a racist meme of black children cheering for free money from the government.

Indiana state Rep. Jim Lucas is defending a meme he recently posted on Facebook featuring a stock photo of dancing black kids with the caption “We gon’ get free money!”

Despite being called racist and a push from politicians and constituents to resign or be removed, Lucas told the IndyStar that he “doesn’t see color” and he sees nothing wrong with what he posted.

Via IndyStar:

Lucas said he doesn’t see color and doesn’t believe his post was racist. He’s said he created the meme Monday night to protest federal bailouts that have created more debt for future generations.

He happened to find a picture of black kids dancing in the meme generator, he said, but could have just as easily chosen a photo with white kids.

“People who want to find racism are going to find racism in anything,” he added.

A statement adding credence that people who want to be racist will find a way to continuously be racist.

Jeannine Lee Lake—a black Democrat currently running for office in Indiana—was among those outraged by Lucas’ racist post.

“It makes me want to cry…and it’s sickening,” she told IndyStar.

“He should know how that hearkens back to blackface .. that kind of heralding of mocking one’s race,” Lake continued.

“I’m sorry I don’t think it’s a mistake. I think he knew exactly what he was doing and I hope people express their outrage on his page.”

On Tuesday, Lucas continued to defend the post by keeping the caption but changing the photo to photos of toothless white kids, and another image of him wearing a cowboy hat.

“THIS is the kind of garbage that divides us,” he wrote on Facebook referencing the backlash.

“I don’t see nor look at the color of a person’s skin and I find it repugnant of those that do. I apologize for nothing and the meme stays.”

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3559820534033201&set=a.486381138043838&type=3&theater

Probably unsurprisingly, Rep. Lucas has a history of sharing racist and problematic posts on social media.

Lucas faced backlash last year when he posted a photo of a noose attached to story about a black man pleading guilty of rape.

On the issue of rape, he was accused of victim-blaming after writing on Facebook that women could defend themselves against rape if they just carried guns.

He also posted images of women being pepper-sprayed by police at the 2017 Women’s March with the caption “Participation trophies, now in liquid form.”

And he posted a meme of a woman and a dog being locked in a car trunk by a man in order to prove which is happier to see the man once he lets them out. The meme was denounced by domestic violence groups.

Lucas said all of these problematic posts were blown out proportion.

Breonna Taylor: 26-Year-Old Louisville EMT Killed in Her Own Home by Police Serving Warrant at Wrong Address, Lawsuit Says

The family of a young aspiring nurse working as an EMT who was shot and killed by police in her own home in Louisville, Kentucky back in March has filed a lawsuit against the city’s police department, claiming she did “nothing to deserve to die at their hands.”

26-year-old Breonna Taylor, who’d been working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, was fatally shot around 1 a.m. on March 13th by Louisville Metro Police Department officers who came into her apartment to execute a drug warrant.

According to the lawsuit, the officers burst into the home without knocking and “blindly fired” into it, spraying at least 22 bullets all over Taylor’s apartment and neighboring units “with a total disregard for the value of human life.”

Taylor was struck eight times in the hail of police gunfire.

Her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, a licensed gun owner, thinking they were being robbed, fired shots at the police when they rushed in, hitting LMPD Sgt. John Mattingly in the leg, according to an attorney for the 27-year-old.

Attorneys said it turned out the police had the wrong address, and the suspect they were looking for had already been arrested at his home just moments before the raid at Taylor’s apartment. On top of that, nothing illegal was found inside Taylor’s home.

The suit from Taylor’s family names Sgt. Mattingly and officers Brett Hankinson and Myles Cosgrove as defendants. The officers are currently on administrative reassignment

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Taylor’s senseless death received little to no media attention outside of Louisville, however, details are now beginning to surface because of other news regarding Black Americans and police violence.

Walker was initially arrested and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and first-degree assault, but has since been released from jail and placed on home incarceration. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Police initially called Taylor a “suspect,” but haven’t talked much about the case since, saying that it’s currently under investigation, however, LMPD Chief Steve Conrad and the police union both criticized a judge for releasing Walker.

“I certainly understand the need to make sure we are releasing those people who don’t pose a risk to our community from the jail, especially as we face the outbreak of COVID-19,” Chief Conrad said in an e-mail.

“However, it’s hard for me to see how a man accused of shooting a police officer falls into that low-risk category and I am very frustrated by Mr. Walker’s release to home incarceration.”

River City FOP president Ryan Nichols wrote in a Facebook post Friday, saying of Walker: “Not only is he a threat to the men and women of law enforcement, but he also poses a significant danger to the community we protect! Home incarceration was not designed for the most violent offenders! I call on the public to condemn the actions of Judge Olu Stevens.”

Given the number of shots that were fired by LMPD officers, Walker’s defense attorney said “it was incredible that Ms. Taylor was the only one killed” and questioned why the officers have not been charged in her death.

“Had Breonna Taylor been killed by anyone except police, the person or persons responsible for her death would have been charged with a homicide,” Eggert said in a court document. He also said his client, Walker, is a “victim of police misconduct.”

Eggert said police did NOT announce themselves as they burst through Taylor’s apartment door while the couple was sleeping.

Eggert acknowledged that Walker fired a single shot, which hit Sgt. Mattingly in the leg, but claimed that Walker had no idea he was opening fire on police, who then returned fire.

Eggert said that Walker, had he known the police were outside, would have let them in.

Police, however, tell a different story and say that they knocked on the door repeatedly and announced their presence, but were eventually forced to bust through a door, where they were met with gunfire.

A next-door neighbor of Taylor’s said she awoke to the sound of gunfire and heard Walker yelling for help, but she said she never heard the police announce themselves, according to an affidavit filed in court records.

Police said there’s no body camera footage of the shooting because the officers involved were members of the department’s Criminal Interdiction division, and they don’t wear body cameras.

The lawsuit from Taylor’s family against the LMPD was filed late last month by local attorney Sam Aguiar.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump—best known for representing the families of Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and most recently, Georgia jogger Ahmaud Arbery—joined the legal team on Monday (May 11).

Aguiar said in an interview Monday that he hoped the litigation would spark a federal investigation of the incident and force LMPD officials, who have been less than forthcoming regarding the case, to provide more answers.

“I think that when the city and the mayor’s office and the administration in the police department go out and flaunt transparency, it is incredibly hypocritical,” Aguiar said.

“Whether it’s the mayor or Chief Conrad or somebody, an effort needs to be made to bring in the (Department of Justice) into situations like this to come in with an impartial eye and investigate these officers.”

According to the suit: “The officers failed to use any sound reasonable judgment whatsoever when firing more than 25 blind shots into multiple homes and causing the wrongful death of Breonna.”

The suit, which is seeking a jury trial and unspecified monetary damages, also argues that police unlawfully entered Taylor’s home, used excessive force and committed assault.

“We stand with the family of this young woman in demanding answers from the Louisville Police Department,” Crump said.

“Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding her death, the Department has not provided any answers regarding the facts and circumstances of how this tragedy occurred, nor have they taken responsibility for her senseless killing.”

Breonna Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, spoke to the Washington Post about her daughter’s shooting death at the hands of LMPD officers.

“Not one person has talked to me. Not one person has explained anything to me,” Palmer said. “I want justice for her. I want them to say her name. There’s no reason Breonna should be dead at all.”

Palmer added: “She was an essential worker. She had to go to work. She didn’t have a problem with that. … To not be able to sleep in her own bed without someone busting down her door and taking her life. … I was just like, ‘Make sure you wash your hands!'”

Donald Trump on Ahmaud Arbery Killing: “I Saw the Picture of Him in His Tuxedo, It Was So Beautiful, He Looks Like a Wonderful Young Guy”

President Donald Trump called Ahmaud Arbery’s shooting death at the hands of two white men who hunted him down after suspecting him of committing burglaries in the area a “horrible thing,” but said he’s waiting on the results of investigations to provide him with more context.

Trump was asked on Monday (May 11) about the video showing Arbery being shot to death as he jogged along a tree-lined street in Brunswick, Georgia. The question came near the end of a briefing on the coronavirus pandemic in the White House’s Rose Garden.

“I think it’s horrible and it’s certainly being looked at by many people. I’m speaking to many people about it,” Trump said of the footage that surfaced online last Tuesday two months after the February 23rd shooting.

The men who chased down and killed Arbery, 64-year-old Gregory McMichael and 34-year-old Travis McMichael, hadn’t been arrested or charged for more than two months, but the pair were finally taken into custody last Thursday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation after the video leaked online. They were denied bond by a judge the next day.

Travis was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault, while his father, Gregory, was hit with party to felony murder and aggravated assault charges.

During Monday’s briefing, Trump also praised Arbery’s appearance in a photo released by his family that showed him wearing a tuxedo.

“He looked, I saw the picture of him in his tuxedo and it was so beautiful and he looks like a wonderful young guy. Would have been a wonderful … just a wonderful guy,” Trump said.

“I think it’s a horrible thing. Now, with that being said, as you know they’re studying the case carefully, they’re interviewing everybody involved and we’ll see what happens. To me it’s a very sad thing … It breaks your heart to watch it.”

Trump faced a bit of criticism over the weekend after he suggested that something could’ve happened off-camera that contributed to the shooting.

“You know, it could be something that we didn’t see on tape,” Trump said during a Fox News interview Friday (May 8) on what would have been Arbery’s 26th birthday.

When asked about those comments during Monday’s briefing at the White House, Trump said: “Well, I saw the tape and when they moved left, I don’t believe when they moved left outside of the tape – nobody saw what was going on. It’s an empty spot on the tape, I guess. I will say that it’s something that, based on what I saw, doesn’t look good.”

Federal officials have said that they’re looking at the possibility of hate crime charges being brought against the McMichaels for Arbery’s death. They’re also looking into the way local officials handled the case.

Protests have erupted over the killing as well as the botched investigation.

Two district attorneys had to recuse themselves from the case because of their ties to Gregory McMichael—a former investigator for the DA’s office.

On top of that, before recusing herself, D.A. Jackie Johnson’s office refused to allow the Glynn County Police Department to arrest the McMichaels “to protect her friend.”

After picking up the case, the second D.A., George E. Barnhill, wrote in a letter that he saw “no grounds” to arrest the McMichaels on because they were “following in hot pursuit of a burglary suspect with solid first-hand probably cause” and “Arbery instigated the fight.”

However, a police lieutenant told CNN that the string of burglaries the McMichaels said was their reason for stalking and murdering Arbery never happened.

The Department of Justice said Monday it would consider a request from Georgia’s attorney general to review Arbery’s shooting death and see whether federal hate crime charges should be pursued, though the state doesn’t have a hate crime law.

“We will continue to assess all information, and we will take any appropriate action that is warranted by the facts and the law,” DOJ spokeswoman Kerri Kupec said.

A third man, William Bryant (a neighbor of the McMichaels’), is also under investigation for his role in making the video and helping to corner Arbery during the incident, state investigators said.

“We are committed to a complete and transparent review of how the Ahmaud Arbery case was handled from the outset,” Carr said Sunday.

“The family, the community and the state of Georgia deserve answers, and we will work with others in law enforcement at the state and federal level to find those answers.”

DNA Test Confirms Future IS the Father of Eliza Reign’s 1-Year-Old Daughter Reign Wilburn

Welp, it looks like Future now has SEVEN “official” baby mamas … because a DNA test has confirmed that he IS the father of Eliza Reign’s 1-year-old daughter Reign Wilburn, also bringing his total number of confirmed children to seven.

According to The Shade Room (via On Site), the DNA tests were announced during a court appearance Monday (May 11).

After going back and forth in the courts for months, a judge finally ordered Future to take a DNA test back in February, and after dragging his feet for two months, the fertile rapper FINALLY took the test, and the results came back with 99.99999% accuracy that Future is the baby’s daddy.

As was previously reported, Eliza sued Future for paternity, child support and custody last year on claims that he was the father of her then-infant daughter. She believed he should pay $53,000 in child support based on his income.

Future responded to the lawsuit by pleading for an injunction.

While he admitted to having a sexual relationship with Eliza between 2016 and 2018, he claimed she started harassing him after she found out she was pregnant with his child.

He went on to file a separate lawsuit accusing Eliza of defamation for speaking publicly about their sex life, his genitalia and other personal matters, which he said was distressing and damaging to his reputation, however, a judge dismissed his claims in court.

Baby Reign just celebrated her 1st birthday last month.

Future responded to the news of him officially fathering a seventh child with his seventh baby mama with a series of cryptic posts on Twitter.

Over the weekend, Future wished six of his other baby mamas, including singer Ciara, a Happy Mother’s Day on Twitter, though he failed to mention Eliza.

Another woman he left out of the Mother’s Day wishes was Cindy Parker, who sued him for paternity, child support and custody last year.

Cindy and Eliza, at one point, joined forces to have their kids take DNA tests and posted the results showing that the tots had a 99.9% probability of being half siblings.

Earlier this year, however, Cindy quietly dismissed her paternity lawsuit, likely due to a settlement being reached between parties outside of court.

Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj Both Score First #1 Single on Billboard Hot 100 With “Say So” Remix

Congrats are certainly in order for Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj … who both earned their first No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 with the remix to “Say So!”

The song, which was No. 6 last week, received a huge boost thanks to its new remix featuring Nicki Minaj.

Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s “Savage” remix trails right behind the “Say So” remix at No. 2, marking the first time two female rappers have held both the No. 1 AND No. 2 spots.

The feat also marks the first time ever two female rappers have occupied the top spot.

“Say So” remix is also Nicki’s 109th charted title, which gives her the record for longest wait ever for a first Hot 100 No. 1 by total career entries.

Congrats ladies!!!

Future Says Happy Mother’s Day to 6 Baby Mamas, Leaves Other 3 Alleged Baby Mamas Out

Rapper and professional baby maker Future took to Twitter Sunday night (May 10) to individually wish all six of his confirmed baby mamas a Happy Mother’s Day, including his ex-fiancée Ciara.

Noticeably absent from Future’s Happy Mother’s Day wishes were his new alleged baby mamas—Eliza Reign (Reign Wilburn’s mom), Cindy Parker (mom to Legend Wilburn) and a ninth one whose name is unknown.

For what it’s worth, Future has repeatedly denied Eliza’s paternity claim, and Parker dropped her suit in 2020.

Swizz Beatz’ Ex-Wife Mashonda Sends Alicia Keys Heartfelt Mother’s Day Message: “I Want to Show Extreme Gratitude to My Baby’s Other Mother”

They really are a blended family.

Mashonda Tifrere—Swizz Beatz’s ex-wife and mother of his son Kassem Jr.—gave Alicia Keys a special Mother’s Day shoutout.

“Before this glorious day ends, I want to show extreme gratitude to my baby’s other mother,” Tifrere began her heartfelt Instagram message.

“@aliciakeys thank you so much for holding this child close to your heart and supporting him with his homeschooling and emotional needs over the course of these past 2 crazy months. Even though my heart ached due to his absence, I found great peace knowing that you were the woman holding his hand and putting him to sleep at night. THANK YOU!”

Based on the post, it seems Tifrere has been unable able quarantine with her son who has been with his musical father and step-mother.

The Tifrere, Beatz, and Keys triangle has been a popular topic of discussion for a decade now. Beatz left his wife to be with Keys.

By the time their divorce was finalized in May 2010, Beatz was already engaged to Keys who was also pregnant with their first child together.

In 2016, Keys released the song “Blended Family (What You Do for Love),” which explained Keys’ relationship with Beatz, Tifrere and her step-son.

Four years later, Tifrere’s genuine message is proof that the blended family is still making it work for the sake of the kids and their modern family.

Legendary R&B/Soul Singer Betty Wright Dead at 66

R&B/Soul legend Betty Wright has died at the age of 66.

Wright’s niece confirmed her passing on Sunday morning (May 10), however, a cause of death has not been revealed.

Wright’s death comes a week after Chaka Khan took to Twitter to ask fans to pray for the Florida legend’s health.

“Calling all my #PrayWarriors | My beloved sister, Betty Wright @MsBettyWright, is now in need of all your [prayers],” Chaka tweeted. “‘Que Sera, Sera | Whatever Will Be, Will Be.’ In Jesus Name We Pray for Sister Betty
All My Love Chaka.”

A March 2020 feature on Wright’s music in People magazine referred to Chaka Khan as a “dear friend” of Wright’s.

Wright, whom some in the music industry considered one of the most underrated singers of her time, was recently featured on TV One’s Unsung.

Born Bessie Regina Norris in Miami Florida in December 1953, Wright began her career singing Gospel music with her family and later became a star in her own right with the release of her most famous song “Clean Up Woman” in 1971 when she was only 18 years old.

She went on to record a number of hits, including “Let Me Be Your Lovermaker,” “Shoorah Shoorah,” “Tonight is the Night” and “Where is the Love.”

Betty made history in the 1980’s when she launched her own independent label, which, before her, had never been done before by a female artist. That’s when she recorded the song “No Pain (No Gain),” which popularized the phrase.

She later recorded “Mother Wit,” and the song went gold, which also made history because she was the first African-American singer to go gold on her own record label.

Wright went on to become an inspiration to many singers, including Mary J. Blige, who sampled “Clean Up Woman” for her own hit single “Real Love.” Wright’s “Girls Can’t Do What the Guys Do” was also sampled for Beyoncé’s 2006 single “Upgrade U.”

Back in 2011, Wright said of working with younger artists: “I believe in legacy. And I believe in making the radio sound better. If I gotta listen to it, I want it to sound good. So I’m tired of people disturbing the peace, getting on the radio and sounding a hot mess.

“If I can tell what the note really is, why let them go to the note they think it is? I’ve got that mama vibe. I don’t look at it with an ego.”

Wright had five children—Aisha, Patrice, Patrick, Chaka (named after her BFF), and Asher. However, on Christmas Day 2005, Wright’s family was struck with tragedy when her son, Patrick Parker, was shot to death at a holiday party in South Florida at the age of 21. No arrests were ever made in the killing.

Wright recorded the song “Dry Well” to pay tribute to her son, and in 2012, she performed it at a rally in support of the arrest of George Zimmerman.

“And if I can lend a celebrity voice to it, because when my son died, the way I got through it was through the power of family and the power of prayer,” she said at the time. “And I began to write it out, as I have always done the pain in my life.”

Wright’s death on Mother’s Day came at the end of a particularly difficult weekend for the music industry following the loss of industry vet Andre Harrell and Rock ‘N’ Roll legend Little Richard.

It Was All A Lie: String of Burglaries Gregory & Travis McMichael Said Was the Reason for Stalking & Murdering Ahmaud Arbery Never Happened

Gregory and Travis McMichael, the white father and son who were arrested and charged in the shooting death of Ahmaud Arbery, told police they believed the 25-year-old black man was a suspect in a string of burglaries in the area, and that’s why they chased him down and killed him while trying to detain him for questioning in a citizen’s arrest.

Well, as it turns out … and this may or may not surprise you … that was a whole entire lie.

A police lieutenant told CNN that there was just ONE burglary incident—not several, as the McMichaels said—reported in the Brunswick, Georgia, and that was on January 1st, nearly two months before the shooting.

Greg, 64, and his 34-year-old son Travis were arrested in Brunswick on Thursday (May 7) and face charges of murder and aggravated assault in Arbery’s death.

Many in the South Georgia community (and all over the country) were angry that it took over two months for the McMichaels’ arrests, which came two days after video footage surfaced showing the deadly confrontation, sparking outrage and calls for justice.

Immediately after the fatal shooting, according to a Glynn County Police report, Greg McMichael—a former investigator for the District Attorney’s office—said he thought Arbery resembled a suspect in a series of recent break-ins in the Satilla Shores neighborhood.

However, Glynn County Police Lieutenant Cheri Bashlor said there was just one automobile burglary in the neighborhood reported after a 9mm pistol was stolen on January 1st from an unlocked truck outside the McMichaels’ home.

Arbery was out for a jog in the Satilla Shores neighborhood on February 23rd when Gregory McMichael and his son chased him down, police said.

Arbery and Travis McMichael struggled over the latter’s shotgun, and Gregory McMichael told police that his son shot Arbery after Arbery attacked him, the police report stated.

The McMichaels briefly appeared in court Friday and the judge denied bond for the father-son duo.

“I just want justice for my son,” Ahmaud’s father, Marcus Arbery Sr., told CNN Friday on what would have been Ahmaud’s 26th birthday. ” I just want them to pay the price for the crime they did.”

Marcus Arbery Sr. compared his son’s killing to a modern-day lynching.

“Anytime you pursue a young man, go jump in a truck with shotguns and a pistol … and you follow him and slaughter him like that, that’s lynching,” he said.

Because Georgia is one of a few states that doesn’t have a hate crime statute, the McMichaels will not face any hate crime charges for Arbery’s shooting death.

When asked why the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested the McMichaels so quickly when local authorities failed to do so for 74 days, GBI Director Vic Reynolds said he couldn’t speak on the actions of other agencies.

But, he did say that he was “very comfortable in telling you that there’s more than sufficient probable cause in this case for felony murder.”

Rock ‘N’ Roll Legend Little Richard Dead at 87

Little Richard, the flamboyant Rock ‘N’ Roll pioneer, has died at the age of 87.

His death was first announced on his official Facebook Saturday morning (May 9), and his son, Danny Jones Penniman, confirmed the sad news to Rolling Stone. A cause of death was not revealed.

Little Richard was reportedly suffering from a few health problems over the past several years, and had suffered from a stroke and a heart attack, along with hip problems.

His bass guitarist, Charles Glenn, told TMZ that he’d been sick for the past two months and passed away Saturday at his home in Tennessee surrounded by close family members, including his brother, sister and son.

Glenn said he last spoke with Richard back in March and the singer asked him to come over and visit, but he couldn’t due to the pandemic.

Glenn said Richard was like a father to him and would sometimes tell him: “Not to take anything away from your dad, but you’re my son.”

Considered a founding father of Rock & Roll, Little Richard—born Richard Wayne Penniman in 1932—landed his first record deal back in 1951 with RCA.

He didn’t become successful until after 1955 when he signed with Specialty Records, where he quickly rose to fame with hits like “Tutti Frutti,” “Long Tall Sally,” “Lucille,” “Good Golly Miss Molly” and more.

Richard’s influence was so huge that The Beatles have credited him as being one of their biggest inspirations. The legendary group even re-recorded his hit “Long Tall Sally,” which was a huge success.

Bob Dylan also said he played the rock icon’s song on his piano as a kid.

“I heard Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, and that was it,” Elton John told Rolling Stone back in 1973. “I didn’t ever want to be anything else. I’m more of a Little Richard stylist than a Jerry Lee Lewis, I think. Jerry Lee is a very intricate piano player and very skillful, but Little Richard is more of a pounder.”

Little Richard was also one of the 10 original inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and was honored at the 1993 Grammys with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He also received the Pioneer Award from the Rhythm & Blues Foundation.

Andre Harrell, Legendary Music Exec & Founder of Uptown Records, Dead at 59

Andre Harrell, the veteran music exec who founded Uptown Records, has died at the age of 59.

The sad news was first announced by DJ D-Nice early Saturday morning (May 9) during his nightly set on Instagram Live.

Industry sources confirmed to All Hip Hop that Harrell died suddenly, however, a cause of death was not immediately revealed.

Harrell founded Uptown Records back in 1986. The label, which went on to become one of the most popular R&B/Hip-Hop labels of the late 80’s and early 90’s, was responsible for launching the careers of Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs (now known as Diddy), Mary J. Blige, Heavy D & The Boyz, Teddy Riley, Jodeci, Al B. Sure! and many others.

Fans of rap culture know that Harrell also infamously fired Sean “Diddy” Combs back when he worked for Uptown Records, which inspired him to launch Bad Boy Records, the label that made Combs into the mogul that he is today.

Harrell would go on to be a mentor for Diddy and ended up regularly working with him in various capacities over the last few decades.

Harrell also served as the President & CEO of Motown Records for a time and was the Vice Chairman of Revolt, Diddy’s multi-platform music network.

During his time at Revolt, he was instrumental in launching the Revolt Music Conference, which is held annually in Miami.

As news of Harrell’s passing spread, members of the R&B and Hip-Hop communities quickly took to social media to share their condolences.

“So many can say they are successful because Andre Harrell gave them their start,” Russell Simmons wrote on Instagram. “He was so beloved because he made his living uplifting others… We celebrate him in his passing because we were so blessed for his presence… He gave everything he had. God makes the best plans R.I.P”

Nicki Minaj Hints at Pregnancy During Fan Q&A, Reveals Cravings & Says “The World Ain’t Ready” for Her Baby Bump Just Yet

Nicki Minaj is bout to a mama! Or so we think.

Though it has not been confirmed, many of the Barbz believe their fave is pregnant after she strongly hinted that she is with child during a Q&A session on Twitter.

Minaj hosted the session with her fans on Thursday (May 7).

And when discussing what she’s been cooking while in quarantine, the rapper revealed that she’s been having cravings for red meat and extra jalapenos.

Following up on the “cravings,” someone asked if Minaj also happened to be experiencing morning sickness.

Minaj shared that she hadn’t been throwing up, but had nausea and was using the bathroom a lot.

All the hints led to a fan asking when will we get to see the baby bump. “In a couple of months,” Minaj teased again. “The world ain’t ready yet.”

Minaj married childhood friend Kenneth Petty last year and has long expressed her desire to have children.

“I do not want to work all my life and never experience the joys of a family,” she told Vogue Italia in 2014.

She elaborated on her domestic plans in 2015 Cosmopolitan interview:

“Ten years from now, I will have two children, unless my husband wants three. I will be into my fitness a lot more, I will stop yo-yo dieting, and I’ll be a housewife with careers that I can run from home.

“I want to be able to cook for my children, bake cookies for them, and watch them grow up. I just want to be mommy. Take them to school, go to the parent-teacher conference, help them with their homework, and put their work on the refrigerator.”

Again, nothing has been confirmed.

Plus, this is far from the first time Minaj has teased us with pregnancy innuendos.

Last fall, she stated that she was retiring to start a family and most recently she jokingly claimed that she was pregnant during one of her Queen Radio broadcasts.

“They really gon’ believe me—my manager’s face! He was about to die!” she laughed off the statement.

Princess Love Files for Divorce From Ray J After Living Apart for Several Months

Princess Love has reached the end of the road with her relationship with husband Ray J and has filed for divorce.

Several outlets confirm Princess filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (May 5), just months after she gave birth to the couple’s second child.

A rep for the couple told People:

“It’s a very difficult time for both Princess and Ray J and we are asking that we just let them have their privacy as they work through and deal with this very trying situation.”

The Love and Hip-Hop stars have been living separately for several months now.

The breakdown of their relationship played out publicly and on social media after Princess claimed Ray left her and their 2-year-old daughter stranded in Las Vegas while he partied back in November. Princess was also 8 months pregnant at the time.

With tensions running high, both threatened divorce and Ray J was seen without his wedding ring in December.

Ray J made several public pleas to his wife and tried to make amends. They spent Thanksgiving together and he even made a grand gesture for Valentine’s Day by covering his apartment with 2,000 roses for Princess and their daughter.

The two also confronted each other for a three-part special on Zeus in an effort to save their marriage. But the conversation went all the way left, exposing more cracks in the relationship than fixing them.

Ray J and Princess got married in 2016 after dating for three years. They have two children together.
