Philando Castile’s Girlfriend Diamond Reynolds Settles Defamation Suit, Receives Apology from Mayor: “Forgive Me for Those Ignorant Words”

Diamond Reynolds has settled her defamation suit against a Minnesota mayor who claimed she would blow her settlement money from Philando Castile’s death on crack cocaine.

Because the defamation case was settled out of court, details have not yet been disclosed. However, Reynolds did receive a public apology from Elysian mayor Tom McBroom.

McBroom stated:

“I want to apologize to you for my remarks I made when you were awarded money for the loss of … Mr. Castile. From everything I have read since, he was a good person and well liked within his community and school. You lost a loved one and your daughter witnessed a violent act that no young child should ever have to witness.

“My comments were hurtful towards someone I did not know and should never have been written. I hope one day you will forgive me for those ignorant words. I am not the person who has hate for anyone. I hope, pray, and wish nothing but the best for you and your daughter moving forward.”

Reynolds—Castile’s girlfriend—was in the passenger seat when he was shot and killed by then St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez while reaching for his ID.

Reynolds recorded the incident with her 4-year-old daughter in the backseat, and received an $800,000 settlement.

When details of the settlement became public in 2017, McBroom—then a sheriff’s sergeant—attacked Reynold’s character in a tweet.

McBroom tweeted:

“She needs to come off County and State Aid now that she has some cash. It’ll be gone in 6 months on crack cocaine.”

Reynolds—who has no history of drug use—sued McBroom for defamation and emotional distress, and claimed the tweet was racially motivated. She was seeking $50,000 in damages.

It’s unclear if Reynolds received a financial settlement with McBroom in addition to the public apology.

Nicki Minaj “Overflowing With Excitement & Gratitude” As She Confirms She’s Pregnant With Her First Child

Congratulations are in order for Mr. and Mrs. Petty. Nicki Minaj is pregnant with her first child!

The rapper made the announcement on Monday (Jul. 20) on Instagram with a series of photos from a pregnancy photoshoot.

Minaj wrote:

“Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”

This is the first child for Minaj, 37, and her husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, 41. The two tied the knot in October 2019.

They previously dated when Minaj was 16 years old and reconnected in 2018.

“Nicki is absolutely head over heels in love with Kenny,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time.

“She fell hard and fast. She hasn’t smiled this much in a long time.”

It’s unclear how far along Minaj is in her pregnancy, but she hinted that she was pregnant in May during a quarantine Q&A Twitter session with her fans.

While sharing what she had been cooking while in quarantine, Minaj revealed that she was having cravings for red meat and extra jalapenos.

She then added that she had been experiencing nausea and urinating a lot.

A fan directly asked if we would see a baby bump anytime soon, but Minaj said “the world ain’t ready yet.”

Minaj has long-expressed her desire to have children.

“I do not want to work all my life and never experience the joys of a family,” she told Vogue Italia in 2014.

And in 2015, she told Cosmopolitan that she hoped to have two or three children in the next 10 years wanted to spend as much time at home with her family.

“I want to be able to cook for my children, bake cookies for them, and watch them grow up. I just want to be mommy. Take them to school, go to the parent-teacher conference, help them with their homework, and put their work on the refrigerator.”

Nicki Minaj’s due date or the gender of her baby has yet to be revealed.

Cops Think Megan Thee Stallion Was Targeted in Shooting, Tory Lanez Could Be Charged With Assault With a Deadly Weapon

The Los Angeles Police Department is looking into the allegation that Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion, and TMZ is reporting that the rapper/singer could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon if it is determined that he was the triggerman.

As was previously reported, sources say Tory shot Megan in the feet as she exited his SUV following an argument that erupted in the vehicle.

The incident happened early Sunday morning (Jul. 12) just before cops pulled over Tory’s chauffer-driven SUV in Hollywood Hills.

Tory was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed weapon after police found a handgun in the SUV.

While Tory hasn’t been explicitly named as a suspect in their assault with a deadly weapon investigation, he is the focus of the investigation.

Sources close to Tory say he didn’t shoot Meg on purpose, which explains the “assault with a deadly weapon” charge vs. attempted homicide.

Police say they’re still having trouble getting witnesses to cooperate with the investigation, however, which could make it difficult for them to prosecute Tory.

Earlier today, The Shade Room reported that Megan is no longer following Tory on Instagram … a sure sign that their friendship is definitely on the rocks in light of the shooting.

Tamar Braxton Rushed to Hospital After Possible Suicide Attempt, Boyfriend Found Her “Unresponsive”

Tamar Braxton was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital late Thursday night (Jul. 16) after she was found unresponsive, and sources are saying it was a possible suicide attempt.

The Blast reports:

According to sources, Tamar was staying at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles, near LA Live, with her boyfriend David Adefeso.

We’re told David found Tamar “unresponsive” and called 911 to report his girlfriend had been drinking and taken an unknown amount of prescription pills. Sources say he believed it was a possible suicide attempt.

Sources say ambulances arrived at the hotel and have transported the reality star to California hospital in Downtown L.A.

LAPD confirmed to The Blast, they received a call around 9:45 P.M. in regard to a 43-year-old female who had a medical emergency listed as a “possible overdose.” Officers are following the woman to the hospital for further investigation.

Sources say Tamar’s condition is unclear at the moment. We’re told Tamar has been extremely emotional due to an ongoing contract dispute with We TV.

The singer has been attempting to get out of her contract believing she has been screwed over for years. Things got worse this week when the trailer for Tamar’s new We TV reality show “Get Ya Life” was released. We’re told Tamar felt blindsided by it and hated the way it portrayed her.

Tamar and David do a live YouTube show called “Coupled & Quarantined” which was scheduled to air tonight. Instead, a message was posted reading, “Hello Ya’ll Unfortunately, Your girl Tamar is under the weather today and not feeling well so we need to postpone today’s show (Don’t worry it’s not Covid) We’re sad because we had a great show lined up for you today, but next week’s show is going to be even bigger and better. so sorry for the inconvenience, we know many of you look forward to the show every week. we’ll make it up to you next week.”

A spokesperson for the reality star tells The Blast, “Tamar has had a very tough and emotional day — more information will be coming in the next few days. Please pray for her.”

The last video Tamar posted on Instagram was of her son Logan. She wrote, “I just want to know if ANYONE else besides me need a vacation … Logan wasn’t haven’t it then OR now … all i need to see is water and some sun … It’s only 1:30 and I wanna go to bed right now

Earlier in the week, Tamar vented her frustrations about her “Braxton Family Values” contract on Twitter.

Prayers up for Tamar! We will keep you posted.

Tory Lanez Allegedly Shot Megan Thee Stallion While She Was “Trying to Leave” & There’s Reportedly Video to Prove It

The Megan Thee Stallion shooting situation just took a very strange twist as it has been revealed that Tory Lanez may have been the person who shot her following a dispute inside his vehicle.

“Tory fired the shots from within the vehicle while Megan was outside trying to leave,” a source told Page Six on Thursday. “There is video and the police are investigating. This is a case of a man physically harming and abusing a woman.”

More via Page Six:

A spokesperson for LAPD would not confirm whether there was video submitted to the investigation, adding that any videos would “not be released until the case goes to court in order to protect the integrity of the case.”

“The detectives are seeking information regarding the shooting involving Daystar Peterson, and the investigation is still ongoing. I’m not privilege to what the detectives have right now,” the spokesperson added. Police would not say whether Lanez is a suspect.

On Saturday night, Megan, 25, shared on Instagram Live that she was hanging out with Kylie Jenner and Lanez, 27, in a pool, just hours before police responded to a “shots fired” call outside of a Hollywood Hills home at around 4:30 a.m.

LAPD has requested more information about the incident via an online press release. Police arrested Lanez Sunday morning when they pulled over his SUV, moments after the incident, on gun possession charges.

The rapper posted $35,000 bail and was released at 10:05 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 13.

Megan’s best friend Kelsey Nicole, who was also in the vehicle, denied that she was the one who shot Megan.

“I WASN’T the one with the gun and would never do something like that,” she wrote on social media, in screenshots obtained by The Shade Room. “However I was present.”

Megan’s music producer, Lil Ju, has sent out a series of tweets that appear to condemn Lanez’s role in the incident.

In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote, “@torylanez count your f—king days.”

The “Suga” producer added in a separate tweet, “I care about my people being straight! Give a damn about some clout.”

Lil Ju also blasted reports that the “Luv” rapper was “defending” Megan, calling it a “bulls-t story.”

On Wednesday, Megan confirmed on Instagram that she had suffered gunshot wounds during the incident Sunday morning.

“The police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets,” the “Savage” rapper shared. “I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.” She did not name who shot her or mention Lanez.

TMZ released footage of Megan exiting Lanez’s SUV with what appears to be blood dripping from her feet. A spokesperson for LAPD confirmed, “One person was transported to the hospital for a foot injury.”

Terry Crews: I Never Feared the KKK, I Feared Black People Who Thought I Was “Acting White”

Terry Crews is back with another hot take about racism.

In response to Nick Cannon going viral for the comments he made on his podcast that were deemed “anti-Semitic” and resulted in him being dropped by ViacomCBS, Crews took to Twitter to basically say “toldja so!”

If you’ll remember, Crews caught backlash last month after he said: “defeating White supremacy without White people creates Black supremacy.”

In response to the backlash, Crews posted at the time: “I was not saying Black supremacy exists because it doesn’t. I am saying if both Black and Whites don’t continue to work together—bad attitudes and resentments can create a dangerous self-righteousness. That’s all.”

Crews also reiterated his tweets during his appearance on the daytime talk show The Talk and noted that he’s been shamed and called an “Uncle Tom” for having a different outlook on race and the Black Lives Matter movement.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJnkP33j7rA

“I’ve been called all kinds of things, like an Uncle Tom,” he said. “Simply because I’m successful, simply because I worked my way out of Flint, Michigan.”

Now, he’s circling back to his original statement about “Black supremacy” in response to Nick Cannon’s comments.

Using his own words, Crews captioned a clip of Nick Cannon’s controversial podcast interview, which Crews said was rooted in the “Black supremacy” ideology he warned against.

“We have to include this white voice, this Hispanic voice, this Asian voice. We have to include it RIGHT NOW, because if we don’t … it’s going to slip into something we are really not prepared for,” Crews posted, quoting himself. “Terry Crews ‘THE TALK interview’ June 16th, 2020,'” he added.

In reaction to Crews’ tweet, one Twitter user told the actor: “You going so hard against Nick Cannon, but when you fall, NO BLACK PERSON will have your back. Watch.”

Crews’ response?

“When I was young, I was never afraid of the KKK… It was people like you. The threats, the intimidation, discouraging free thought, and ‘the insult of acting white.’ My heart breaks because your behavior only reveals you don’t know how powerful you are.”

In other words:

Crews’ comments echo a similar statement he made during an appearance Roland Martin Unfiltered following another controversial tweet in which he said: “We must ensure #blacklivesmatter doesn’t morph into #blacklivesbetter.”

On RMU, Crews said that while he loves Black people and actually supports the Black Lives Matter movement (Ed. Note: We can’t tell!), he’s allowed to have his own opinion.

He also argued that progress has to include all people, not just Black Americans, despite the fact that BLM protests all over the world have largely consisted of people of color along with white allies.

Even so, Crews insisted: “This is like a third reconstruction, and this reconstruction has to include every voice in America. Everybody has to be included.”

He added: “It should be okay for Black people to be different and have other views. In our community, you have to be one way, swinging, fighting, and punching, and I am not that dude.”

He went on: “First of all, I was never scared of the KKK growing up. You know who I was scared of? I was scared of that gang member. I was scared of that drug dealer that I had to walk through to get my school through everyday.”

Quality Control CEO “Pee” Calls Out Migos on Instagram Over Malpractice Lawsuit

Pictured: Migos with Pierre "Pee" Thomas and Capitol Records CEO Steve Barnett

Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas has responded via Instagram to Migos’ malpractice lawsuit against his label, calling the suit “unfortunate” and expressing his disappointment over the allegations.

Migos filed a lawsuit against their attorney Damien Granderson early Wednesday (Jul. 15) claiming that he “cheated” the group out of millions of dollars and did not represent their best interests in a number of contractual negotiations.

Variety reports that the Atlanta trio’s lawsuit specifically says Granderson—who is also a longtime attorney for Quality Control Music (aka QC), the label Migos are signed to—”abused his position of trust as fiduciary from the moment he was retained as Migos’ lawyer” and “cheated [the group] out of millions of dollars” due to “glaring conflicts of interest” in favor of QC.

Migos say Granderson also hid key details regarding the exclusive distribution deal QC has with Capitol Records.

According to the complaint, the deal “would allow Capitol to distribute all albums that QCM produced and that QCM was actually profiting far more handsomely than was apparent from the face of the documents that Granderson personally presented” to the group.

QC CEO “Pee” Thomas took to Instagram Wednesday evening and posted a lengthy response to the lawsuit, writing in part: “It is unfortunate that the same people that we have worked hard, provided opportunities for, and championed for are now alleging that we have participated in any kind of immoral or unfair business practices or took advantage of them and their careers, especially while we are dealing with the death of an artist on our label that was dear to us.”

Thomas continued: “We have always practiced honest business and complete transparency from the beginning when we started Quality Control Music.

“We built this business on family values, which has been so hard to do when you are dealing with so much pride and ego.

“The problem that I have been struggling with in this business as a black man is jealousy, hate, division, and lack of communication.

“I was a millionaire before I got in the music business and for me to know the sacrifices I have made for the people that I have invested in and put every dollar, blood, sweat, and tears into is nonsense.”

He went on: “I will not stand by and let Quality Control Music’s reputation and everything we have built and sacrificed be tarnished by allegations of unfair and unjust business practices.

“I am a student of this game and I have watched several black record label owner’s get destroyed by the same things that I am facing right now. This is why majority of the people in this business end up in financial turmoil and ultimately failing to reach their full potential.

“It is hard enough to be fighting and battling with corporations and the powers that be, I am not doing it with those who I consider family. I love my artists and I love my team. Everyone has their own lawyers.

Thomas concluded: “I understand in this business that you are not always going to end with the people you started with.

“I say that to say, I am not forcing anybody to be in business with us that has a problem and cannot communicate and does not want to work as a unit.

“Everything is negotiable. I wish my whole team more money, more blessings, and continued success. #LongLiveMarlo”

Diddy Invites Nick Cannon to Join His “Black Owned” Revolt TV Network After Being Fired From ViacomCBS

After Nick Cannon was fired from ViacomCBS after he was accused of making anti-Semitic remarks during his podcast, Diddy is offering him a new home at his 100% Black-owned TV network Revolt.

“@NickCannon come home to @REVOLTTV truly BLACK OWNED!!!” the 50-year-old hip-hop mogul tweeted. “We got your back and love you and what you have done for the culture. We are for our people first!!! For us! By US! Let’s go!!!”

ViacomCBS announced Tuesday (Jul. 14) that they were ending their long-running relationship with the Wild ‘N Out creator after his comments about Black people being the true Hebrews and white people being “animals” and “savages” went viral.

“ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism,” the media company said in a statement.

“We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.”

The statement continued: “While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him.

“We are committed to doing better in our response to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism and bigotry. ViacomCBS will have further announcements on our efforts to combat hate of all kinds.”

Cannon has since released a statement demanding full ownership of his billion-dollar Wild ‘N Out brand as well as an apology from ViacomCBS for using this moment to “make an example out of an outspoken Black men.”

Nick Cannon Demands Apology & Full Ownership of Wild ‘N Out After Being Fired by ViacomCBS: “They Wanted to Put the Young Negro in His Place”

After being fired by ViacomCBS for making anti-Semitic remarks, Nick Cannon is not walking away quietly.

Viacom fired Cannon from hosting Wild ‘N Out, and from the company as a whole on Tuesday (Jul. 14) for making comments that “promote hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories” during a recent episode of his “Cannon’s Class” podcast.

On Wednesday (Jul. 15), Cannon—who has had professionally worked with ViacomCBS for over 20 years—posted a lengthy and scathing letter on Facebook accusing the company of trying to keep him silent and calling out the company for not supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

He also demanded full ownership of Wild ‘N Out, which he claims is a billion-dollar brand, and even demanded an apology from ViacomCBS for how they have portrayed his comments in the media.

Cannon wrote in part:

“I am deeply saddened in a moment so close to reconciliation that the powers that be, misused an important moment for us to all grow closer together and learn more about one another. Instead the moment was stolen and highjacked to make an example of an outspoken black man.

“I will not be bullied, silenced, or continuously oppressed by any organization, group, or corporation. I am disappointed that Viacom does not understand or respect the power of the black community.”

Cannon says he reached out to Viacom owner Shari Redstone “to have a conversation of reconciliation and actually apologize,” but his calls were not returned.

“[T]hat’s when I realized they don’t want a conversation or growth, they wanted to put the young negro in his place,” Cannon added.

“They wanted to show me who is boss, hang me out to dry and make an example of anyone who says something they don’t agree with,” he continued.

However, representatives for Viacom and Redstone say that it is “absolutely untrue” that cannon reached out to Redstone.

To conclude his letter, Cannon is demanding ownership of Wild ‘N Out and apology from ViacomCBS.

“I demand full ownership of my billion dollar ‘Wild ‘N Out’ brand that I created, and they will continue to misuse and destroy without my leadership! I demand that the hate and back door bullying cease and while we are at it, now that the truth is out, I demand the Apology!”

As we previously reported, Cannon faced backlash for comments he made about white people and Jewish people.

He called white people “true savages” and “animals” and also promoted anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the Rothschild banking family.

Nick Cannon Fired From ViacomCBS for Promoting Hate Speech by Calling White People “Animals” & “True Savages”

ViacomCBS has ended their decades-long relationship with Nick Cannon after he made anti-Semitic comments on his podcast.

Cannon came under fire Tuesday (Jul. 14) after a recent episode of his “Cannon’s Class” podcast resurfaced on social media in which he—during an interview with former Public Enemy rapper Professor Griff—called white people “true savages” and “animals” and also promoting about anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about the Rothschild banking family.

Griff is infamous for being kicked out of Public Enemy (or leaving, depending on who you ask) back in 1988 after he said “Jews are responsible for the majority of the wickedness in the world.”

“There’s no place for gays. When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was for that sort of behavior,” Griff also said at the time, adding: “If the Palestinians took up arms, went into Israel and killed all the Jews, it’d be alright.”

During the June 30th episode of his podcast, Cannon praised Griff and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan (also infamous for his anti-Semitic rhetoric), saying: “It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”

Cannon also talked about his theory about why white people have over the years displayed a lack of compassion towards people of color.

According to Nick, due to white folks’ lack of melanin, it creates an inferiority complex that causes them to act “out of a deficiency so the only way they can act is evil.” In other words, they’re afraid of people who have melanin (i.e. Black people).

Cannon added that because of how white people have treated people of color throughout history (i.e. slavery and integration), that makes them “closer to animals” and “actually the true savages.”

Just hours after clips from the interview went viral on social media, ViacomCBS announced that their relationship with Cannon had been terminated.

“ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism,” the company said in a statement to Variety.

“We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

“While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him

“We are committed to doing better in our response to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism, and bigotry. ViacomCBS will have further announcements on our efforts to combat hate of all kinds.”

Cannon, on Monday, said via Twitter and Facebook that he has “no hate” in his heart “nor malice intentions” and doesn’t condone hate speech “nor the spread of hateful rhetoric.”

He also said he holds himself “accountable for this moment” and takes “full responsibility for his actions.

https://www.facebook.com/NickCannon/posts/4319830701367947

“There’s no malice or negative intent, but in a time like 2020 we got to have these conversations,” he added in a separate statement to Fast Company. “And if there’s an assumption that is perceived as ignorant, let’s debunk it right away.”

While Nick acknowledged what he said, he refused to apologize.

“To me apologies are empty,” the 39-year-old said. “What we need is healing. What we need is discussion. Correct me. I don’t tell my children to say, ‘I’m sorry.’ I want them to understand where they need to be corrected. And then that’s how we grow.”

Nick Cannon’s relationship with Viacom dates back to the 1990’s when he was a Nickelodeon actor.

His sketch comedy show “Wild ‘n Out” has also aired on MTV and VH1 since 2005, and more recently, he’s been the host of The Masked Singer on Fox. He also hosted NBC’s America’s Got Talent from 2009 to 2016.

North Carolina Woman Who Went Viral for Racist Rants & Assaulting Black Teen Dies After Getting Hit by Fire Truck

A North Carolina woman who went viral recently after going on multiple vile, racist rants died Tuesday (Jul. 14) after she stepped out in front of traffic and was hit by a fire truck on Monday afternoon.

Rachel Dawn Ruit was initially said to be in the hospital in critical condition and “suffering from life-threatening injuries” after she was struck by an Asheville Fire Department pickup truck, but has since died.

Ruit is best known for appearing in multiple videos around Asheville spewing hateful and racist rhetoric to anyone who would listen.

In some of the videos, she can be heard emphatically saying the N-word with the hard “R.” In one particular video, she called a man a homophobic slur.

According to TMZ, she was arrested on July 4th for allegedly attacking a woman in a hijab and a Black teenager.

Ruit allegedly ripped off the woman’s head covering and grabbed the teenager in the groin. She was arrested and charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and second-degree trespassing.

Before her arrest, Ruit made news after people posted videos of her from June 13 and July 1 going on racist tirades. During the July 1 incident, witnesses claim she tried to attack a child and cops were called several times … but never showed up.

We’re not saying she deserved to die … but God’s timing is always right.

Big Sean Facing Backlash Over “IDFWU” Song Allegedly About Naya Rivera Following Her Tragic Death

Big Sean is currently on the receiving end of backlash over his 2014 hit single “I Don’t F**k With You (IDFWU),” which he allegedly wrote about Naya Rivera after their breakup earlier that year.

As was previously reported, the former Glee actress’ body was found Monday (Jul. 13) in Lake Piru in California after she went missing last week.

Now, folks are leaving comments on social media slamming Big Sean for making “IDFWU” about Naya Rivera and their public break-up.

Naya and Sean reportedly met on Twitter back in 2013 through Twitter DMs and started dating not long after.

“I had followed him, and he sent me a little message like, ‘I’m a fan,'” Rivera told Access Hollywood in 2013. “We went to dinner and the rest is history.”

The actress and the rapper made their relationship official in spring 2013 and announced that they were engaged to be married in October of that same year.

However, in April 2014, Big Sean called off the engagement amid rumors that he’d cheated on Rivera, though he denied the cheating allegations, saying that the relationship ended due to constant arguing and disagreements.

Sources also claimed to TMZ that the actress always wanted to know the rapper’s whereabouts and would say things like: “If you don’t listen to what I say, I’ll ruin your career.”

Insiders also said Naya would raise a side-eye whenever Sean was with other women, and she would go into a jealous rage, even once breaking an expensive lamp during a rampage in his home.

In September 2014, just five months after their break-up, Big Sean released a song produced by DJ Mustard called “IDFWU,” and fans speculated that the song was about Naya Rivera.

Sean later confirmed that while the entire song wasn’t about Naya, he did say that there was one part of the song in particular that he wrote about their break-up.

He told Complex in a 2015 interview: “I wrote the last verse and [the line] ‘and everyday I wake up celebrating sh*t, why? ‘Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy b*tch.”

Big Sean went on to date Ariana Grande and Naya moved on as well, dating and later marrying Ryan Dorsey, whom she shared a 4-year-old son with.

Sean and Ariana have since broken up (in 2015) and Rivera and Dorsey finalized their divorce in the summer of 2018.

Fast forward to today … and folks are rehashing Big Sean and Naya Rivera’s short-lived relationship in the wake of her death.

Naya went missing on Wednesday, July 8th after she went for a swim at Lake Piru and never returned to the boat she rented with her son. Her body was recovered nearly a week later on Monday morning (Jul. 13).

Just hours after the announcement about Naya’s tragic death and six years after the release of “IDFWU,” some social media users are slamming Big Sean for making the song about her.

Although Big Sean’s latest post on Instagram (which was about #BlackLivesMatter) was on June 1st, users are flooding his comments with messages about the song.

“I really hope you feel like the awful person you are for making that horrid song about her,” one user wrote. “IDFWY sounds way different now,” commented another.

“I wouldn’t even feel right listening to that song anymore! Seriously,” another fan wrote.

“You should delete from every platform that SONG yoo! For respect,” one fan suggested.

Another fan agreed: “You should retire the song I don’t f*** with you.”

Among the comments calling Sean out over the song, there were comments from fans defending him.

“Don’t act like y’all wasn’t bumping ‘IDFWU’ knowing who and what it was about,” one fan shared. “Disgusted that people actually coming at this man for a song he made 6-7 years ago instead of mourning her,” another fan said.

“Why y’all on his page? Leave him alone wtf. People are weird istg [i swear to god],” said another.

Another fan defending Big Sean wrote: “Y’all. LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! They were on good terms. Just because he’s written songs about their breakup doesn’t mean he’s a bad person. You act like he’s the only one who has roasted his ex in a song. He’s probably hurting and grieving too and all these comments shaming him aren’t helping. Sorry for your loss.”

While Big Sean hasn’t publicly commented on the death of his ex-fiancée (aside from initially liking posts on Twitter after she went missing praying for her safe return), his current girlfriend Jhene Aiko posted “rest in peace Naya” on Twitter Monday night.

For what it’s worth … though Naya Rivera fans may be pissed at Big Sean over “IDFWU,” the actress herself seemed to be OK with the song when she put her own spin on it during her 2018 appearance on the TV show Lip Sync Battle.

Tamera Mowry Announces Surprise Exit from ‘The Real’ After 6 Seasons: “All Good Things Must Come to an End”

Ahead of its seventh season, The Real is losing an original co-host. Tamera Mowry-Housley has just announced that she is exiting the popular talk show.

Housley made the unexpected announcement on Monday (Jul. 13) via Instagram after Daily Mail broke the news of her departure.

“For seven years, my home and heart has been at The Real. The friendships that I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better.

“I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy. However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s with a bittersweet smile that I announced that I am moving on from The Real.”

It has not been revealed why Housley decided to leave the show. However, the veteran actress did share that she wanted to spend more time with her family and is excited about her new chapter.

She also expressed her support for the remaining co-hosts, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne Bailon Houghton, calling them her sisters.

“To my fellow hosts, I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me and loving all of me. Sisters forever.”

“I’m so happy for you, sis,” Mai commented on Housley’s post. “I can’t wait for all that awaits you ahead.”

Housley is the second Real co-host to quit in recent months.

Amanda Seales—who joined the talk show in January—announced in June that she decided not to renew her contract because she felt her pro-Black voice was not valued by executives.

Fans also remember that original host Tamar Braxton was controversially fired from the show back in 2016.

Housley was hesitant to talk about her departure following the tragic passing of Naya Rivera, who she has known for over 20 years.

Tory Lanez Arrested on Felony Gun Charge, Megan Thee Stallion Listed as “Victim” & Taken to Hospital With Injuries

Tory Lanez was arrested on a gun charge following an altercation early Sunday morning (Jul. 12) that took place outside his Hollywood Hills home … and Megan Thee Stallion just so happened to be with him at the time and was taken to the hospital with injuries to her foot.

According to TMZ, police received a call about a disturbance outside a residence in Hollywood Hills around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, and when they arrived, witnesses said people were arguing in an SUV before shots were fired into the air and the vehicle took off.

Cops reportedly got a description of the vehicle and located it shortly afterward, and found Tory inside with Megan Thee Stallion and another woman.

Law enforcement sources said Megan had a cut on her foot believed to be from broken glass on the floor of the vehicle. After police searched the car, that’s when they found the gun.

Tory was taken to jail and booked for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, which is a felony charge.

Megan was reportedly listed as a “victim” in the incident and was taken to the hospital immediately following Tory’s arrest to be treated for the wounds to her foot.

Police said four shell casings were also recovered from the scene outside Tory’s home.

The timing of the incident is very interesting considering the fact that Tory and Megan were seen together on Instagram Live with Kylie Jenner at what looked like a pool party.

“Empire” Star Bryshere Gray Arrested After Wife Tells Police He Beat Her for Hours & Strangled Her

Empire star Bryshere Gray has been arrested on domestic violence charges after his wife ran to a gan station for help and told police that he beat her for hours and at one point strangled her.

Police in Goodyear, Arizona said they arrived at the scene of a Circle K gas station near McDowell Road and Pebble Creek Parkway Sunday night around 10:15 p.m. local time to help a woman in distress.

According to the police report:

“The woman had flagged down a citizen for help moments earlier at another nearby gas station stating that she had been assaulted at her Goodyear home for the last several hours by her husband.

“The citizen then drove the victim to the Circle K and called 911. The victim told police her husband was Bryshere Gray, an actor on the TV series ‘Empire.'”

Police said the woman had several visible injuries on her body and they told her she temporarily lost consciousness when he strangled her.

When police went to the couple’s home to question Gray, he refused to exit the residence, barricading himself inside and forcing police to call in Goodyear SWAT and Crisis Negotiations to assist.

The 26-year-old was eventually taken into custody shortly after 7 a.m. Monday morning without incident, police said.

He was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and is facing charges of aggravated assault (strangulation), assault (domestic violence) and disorderly conduct.

Gray’s wife, whose name wasn’t released, was treated for her injuries at a hospital and has since been released.

This isn’t Bryshere Gray’s first time behind bars, as he was arrested last year in Chicago on suspicion of driving without a license or insurance.

August Alsina Shaded the Fawk Out of KeKe Palmer Over This Old Photo of Them Together

Is August Alsina OK? Because he just shaded the absolute FAWK out of Keke Palmer after she responded to a fan’s question about their relationship status.

As we’re sure you’re aware by now, Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith finally sat down on Red Table Talk and addressed August’s recent claim that he and Jada were in a romantic relationship with Will’s blessing.

See what had happened was … Jada said she and August became very close friends just as she and Will started having issues within their marriage.

After Jada and Will separated, she and August hooked up and their relationship turned romantic. Jada and Will both said that her friendship with August was, at first, all about August’s health and trying to help him heal.

“Yes, it was a relationship, absolutely,” Jada said. “I was in a lot of pain, I was broken and in the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself. And luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner.”

“I just wanted to feel good … It had been so long since I felt good,” Jada added, saying that it was also a “joy to help heal somebody,” referring to August.

While August has yet to speak out about Jada and Will’s RTT interview, he did respond to what he felt was a slight towards him from another female friend of his … Keke Palmer.

In response to a series of tweets Keke posted seemingly about August’s “entanglement” with Jada (above), a fan shared a throwback photo of Keke riding in a car with August, which Keke had posted herself on Instagram (and eventually deleted) back in 2015 and hit her with the “This you?”

“Yes girl,” Keke responded. “August was never my man lol. That’s why you’re still reaching to this day to figure out nothing.”

Well, apparently, August felt some type of way about Keke’s response, so he clapped back with this:

“U absolutely right. I was NEVER ur man. You could possibly never shortie. It seems u mad u got curved, but ur ‘friends’ r the reason 4 that. Dey showed me an endless thread of txt/pics of me dat u sent, wrry’d about who i date & BEGGED me 2 not further disturb ur mental instability.”

He continued: “Imagine not knowing how to mind the business that pay you. I catch all the subliminals. (Not just about today) & you can call me whatever you like, Mess is constantly inserting yourself in topics you have nun to do w/. Go play w/ ya MAMMY! Not me!”

Then he added: “If you have something to say, say it w/ ya CHEST kids. It’s always very perplexing cause I real deal be showing people genuine love. Whole time that envy eating ya lil heart. Anyway, NEXT!!”

Now, folks are saying that August is hurt and needs to direct his anger towards Jada:

Whew, chile … the entanglement!

Jada Pinkett & Will Smith Admit to Her Relationship With August Alsina on Red Table Talk: “I Just Wanted to Feel Good”

On a new episode of Red Tabe Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith has finally responded directly to recent claims from August Alsina that her husband Will Smith gave him “his blessing” to have an intimate, romantic relationship with her.

During the episode, which was done alongside Will, Jada admitted that she and August did, in fact, have a relationship, but it happened while she and Will were amicably separated.

Though reps for the couple said Alsina’s allegations were “absolutely not true,” Jada and Will both clarified that those released statements did not come from them personally.

“At the end of the day, I don’t like how all of this came to be. That doesn’t matter, it’s all love, honestly,” Jada said. “That would be something I wouldn’t comment on at all. I feel like it’s a situation I consider private.”

“But now Black Twitter has claimed it as their business,” Will said with a laugh.

Jada went on to explain that she started a “friendship” with August four and a half years ago, and they eventually became “really, really good friends.”

Jada admitted that she and Will’s marriage was going through a rough patch at that time, with Will saying: “I was done with you.”

Jada said it was during that time that she and August started dating, or in her words, “got into a different kind of entanglement.” She added that their relationship, at first, was all about August’s health and trying to help him heal.

As for Will giving August “permission” to have a romantic relationship with his wife, Jada scoffed at that notion, saying that “the only person who could give permission in that particular circumstance is myself.”

Jada added: “What August was probably trying to communicate, because I could see how he could see it as permission because we were separated amicably, and I think he wanted to make it clear he’s not a home-wrecker because he’s not.”

Smith then asked her to clarify what she meant by “entanglement,” to which she said: “Yes, it was a relationship, absolutely. I was in a lot of pain, I was broken and in the process of that relationship, I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself. And luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process of healing in a much different manner.”

“I just wanted to feel good … It had been so long since I felt good,” Jada said, adding that it was also a “joy to help heal somebody,” referring to August, who she repeatedly called “Aug” throughout the interview.

Will joked that being at the Table made him feel like a husband at “the press conference” while she told “the world about her transgressions.” Jada, however, said she didn’t see it that way because the relationship taught her about her own emotional security, “and I was really able to do some deep healing.”

Jada said August eventually decided to “break all communication” with her once she “started to realize certain things” about her marriage with Will, “which was totally understandable,” she added.

“I let that be and hadn’t talked to him since,” Jada said, “so it is a little weird all this stuff is coming out now since this was several [years ago].” Added Will, “Our experiences of working through it, fighting through it, talking through it and therapizing through it, I think the why now is weird.”

She added: “Aug and I haven’t talked in so long, so this all seemed very strange.” (FYI: August appeared on “Red Table Talk” in 2018, though it isn’t clear when they actually stopped talking.)

Will and Jada also said that they’ve never had secrets between them.

“We have really got to that new place of unconditional love,” Jada explained, as Will added that he wasn’t sure whether or not they would ever speak again after they separated. “It ain’t for the weak at heart … there are just certain things we have to go through,” Will said.

“You gotta go through some sh*t to get the answers,” Jada said. “I definitely believe you and I, we never thought we would make it back.”

After pointing out that they’ve been together for 25 years, they both joked in unison: “We ride together, we die together, Bad Marriage for life.”
