The Kardashian-Jenner clan is forever expanding, but there’s one sibling who’s taking a hilarious precaution to ensure she’s not the next one to sire an heir.
Kris Jenner and the five KarJenner sisters gathered for Travis Scott’s birthday and posed for a quick family photo.
Sitting on the couch, squished between her sisters and all of her nieces and nephews, Kendall Jenner shared the pic on Instagram.
John Singleton’s daughter is disputing her grandmother’s claims that the legendary filmmaker is in a coma after suffering a stroke last week and she also wants her petition to be named his temporary conservator to be denied.
Cleopatra Singleton recently filed court documents claiming that, contrary to previous reports, her father is NOT in a coma and is actually getting better every day.
She said her dad is now breathing on his own, but is currently medically sedated. She said his condition is improving so well that he could be out of the ICU in 5 days.
Cleopatra’s update on her father’s condition starkly contrasts the legal docs John’s mom, Sheila (Cleopatra’s grandmother) filed yesterday claiming that Singleton was in a coma after suffering a “major stroke.”
Sheila filed the documents because she’s looking to be named John’s temporary conservator while he’s incapacitated.
But Cleopatra says her grandmother is not looking out for her father’s best interests, claiming there’s a conflict of interest and she has repeatedly “abused” her position as John’s personal and business manager, especially when it comes to supporting his four children.
Cleopatra, who is a college sophomore, says that Sheila has previously stated that she intends to liquidate John’s assets immediately and leave his kids with nothing.
Cleopatra says in the docs: “My father’s allowed his mother to stay in that position out of fear and obligation to her as she’s bullied and abandoned my father since he was a small child, leaving him emotionally defenseless.”
Cleopatra believes that there should be different and separate conservators for each aspect of her dad’s life and she suggested her grandfather and brother hold that position instead of her grandmother.
John Singleton, 51, suffered a stroke last week while he was being treated at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after experiencing pain in his legs.
Police are becoming a regular presence at Wendy Williams’ New Jersey home. We’re learning cops were called to the talk show host’s home just a few days ago due to a disagreement with her estranged husband, Kevin Hunter.
Police arrived at the property in Livingston, NJ on Saturday, April 20 at 10:15 a.m. Hunter had called the cops on Williams after she unexpectedly showed up with a moving truck and started packing up belongings to move to a “new location.”
According to the police report, Hunter “demanded the items be left alone” and demanded the moving company “vacate the premises.”
Williams and Hunter were able to reach an understanding, thanks to police intervention and the assistance of a male friend Williams brought along to “keep the peace.”
The police report states: “Mr. and Mrs. Hunter mutually agreed to these terms, and further agreed that the remaining furnishings were to be undisturbed, inventoried, and valued at a later date.”
Williams was able to take clothes, shoes, personal paintings and spare bedroom furniture from the New Jersey home.
It’s being reported that Williams—who filed for divorce earlier this month—has recently signed a lease for a Manhattan apartment and has checked out of her sober living facility.
The police report also states that the ex-couple’s 18-year-old son was present for the tense situation and was “involved in the conversation relating to the removal of property.”
As we reported earlier, Hunter called the police to the home on April 18th claiming that a new van parked on the street wouldn’t leave him alone.
And earlier this week, we learned cops conducted a welfare check on Williams back in January after an anonymous tip alleged that Hunter was poisoning Williams. She became tearful while talking to the police, but assured them that she was okay.
Whew! It sounds like this divorce is going to get real messy. Buckle up.
XXXTentacion’s baby mama Jenesis Sanchez is trying to establish paternity for her son, and the late rapper’s mother is trying her best to stop it.
Cleopatra Bernard, XXX’s mother, reportedly went to court this week and demanded that a petition filed by Sanchez to request a sample of the rapper’s DNA be dismissed.
Bernard made the filing weeks after Sanchez went to court trying to establish paternity for baby Gekyume in XXX’s estate. Sanchez is also asking the court to allow her to get a DNA sample to help prove her case.
It’s unclear why XXX’s mom is against Sanchez’ petition, and she also had her court filings sealed to keep the battle under wraps.
In her petition, first reported by The Blast, Sanchez explained she and XXX lived together and had “sexual relations during the time that Gekyume was conceived from February 19 through June 18, 2018, the day of the Decedent’s death.” As a result, she became pregnant.
She gave birth to the late rapper’s son, Gekyume Onfroy, on January 26, 2019.
The two were not married at the time, but the late hip-hop star’s mother appeared to take Sanchez under her wing and celebrated the birth of the baby. She even shared photos of Sanchez while announcing that XXX had left behind an unborn son.
Sanchez requested the court allow scientific testing of biological samples of both XXXTentacion and Gekyume in the hopes of legally establishing him as the father.
Further, she asked the court to order the Office of the Broward County Medical Examiner and Trauma Services to provide DNA samples of XXX to the scientific testing lab. Samples of the star’s DNA have been kept on file due to the ongoing investigation into his murder.
It’s possible XXX’s mother is worried about Sanchez trying to stake a large financial claim to the late rapper’s estate, but she has not yet addressed the situation to his fans.
A judge has not yet ruled on either request, but it’s clear a fight may be brewing between the two parties, and XXX’s son may be caught in the middle.
We could be wrong, but it sounds like XXXTentacion’s mom is up to something shady and doesn’t want to share control of his estate with her own grandson.
Cleo also deleted everything from her Instagram, including her recent posts about Baby Gekyume, so something’s definitely going on between her and Jenesis.
Antoinette Love, a senior at International High School of New Orleans with a 3.7 GPA, has reportedly received more acceptance letters and scholarship money than any other college-bound student in the country.
“I started applying in September, and just kept applying and applying until my tiny mailbox at home was suddenly overflowing with letter after letter and dozens of scholarship offers,” Love told Fox 8 news in New Orleans.
Love, who wants to be an elementary school teacher, told CNN that she didn’t keep count of many schools she had applied to, but wanted to see just how many she could get into. She was not prepared for the response.
“At first I didn’t think I was going to get this many, but then they just kept coming and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,'” she said.
The 18-year-old had much to draw from for those application essays.
Her parents were just teenagers when she was born prematurely at 4.4 pounds. She’s the oldest of five kids, was mauled by a dog when she was two-years-old, and her 15-year-old brother has cystic fibrosis.
She also works part-time at a shopping center in order to help raise her siblings and contribute to the household.
Despite the challenges, Love was committed to her academics. She’s been inducted to the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Senior Beta Club, and Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society.
When she’s not studying, Love explores her creative side through acrylic art and photography and is a member of her school’s anime and video game clubs.
And guess what—she’s still waiting to hear back from 12 other colleges.
Love has yet to choose which of the 115 schools she will attend in the fall, but Fisk University, Louisiana State University, University of North Texas, and Mississippi State University are all among her top choices.
She plans to visit several colleges and make her final decision by May 1.
A Houston high school principal is facing national backlash after implementing a dress code for parents which some say is discriminatory and targets black moms.
Earlier this month, parents of James Madison High School were sent a letter that banned them from wearing items such as bonnets, satin caps, hair rollers, shower caps, pajamas, and revealing jeans, tops and dresses.
“Parents…You are your child’s first teacher,” Principal Carlotta Outley Brown wrote in the letter. “We must have high standards.”
Any parent not compliant with the new parental dress code will not be allowed on the school’s premises.
“I really think it was discriminatory, the language that was used. It was demeaning,” Parent Tomiko Miller told the Houston Chronicle. “And I’m African American—and if it’s misty outside and I have a hair bonnet on, I don’t see how that’s anyone’s business.”
Brown implemented the dress code after Joselyn Lewis attempted to enroll her daughter into Madison High while wearing a head scarf and a t-shirt dress (pictured above).
Lewis was asked to leave by an administrator and even had the police called on her when she asked to see a hard copy of the parental dress code—there wasn’t one.
“I can see if it’s a student, yes, they have a dress code,” Lewis told KPRC-TV. “But I’m not a student…Who are you to tell me how to dress?”
Lewis was wearing a headwrap because she was in the process of getting her done wanted to keep it protected.
“I’m not saying that it’s a part of my religion, but it could have been, but I just wanted to have it up. Who are you to say that I can’t wear my hair up? In a scarf?” she continued.
Lewis also says her t-shirt dress passed the finger-length test.
Another parent was stunned when she became aware of the policy for parents.
Rosemary Young was wearing a satin cap when she rushed to the school after her younger child broke his arm. She was handed a hard copy of the policy when she arrived.
“This is a failing school. You have other things to worry about than my attire,” Miller told CBS News.
The parental dress code is only a Madison High policy implemented by Brown, who is a former graduate of the school. Her policy is not a district-wide policy.
Neither Principal Brown nor the Houston Independent School District have commented on the controversial policy.
First, it was Kim Zolciak, then Cynthia Bailey, and now it seems Porsha Williams’ friendship with NeNe Leakes is over.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star says she doesn’t think the bond she shared with Leakes being repaired anytime soon.
Williams recently spoke to Hollywood Life to give an update on the state of her relationship with Leakes after an alleged off-camera physical altercation in Leakes’ closet and their blowout during the RHOA season 11 reunion.
The new mom dropped the bombshell that she has not spoken to Leakes to since giving birth to her first child last month. “I haven’t heard from her at all,” she said.
RHOA fans may also recall that Leakes admitted to not sending Williams a baby shower gift during the reunion. Williams was still pregnant at the time of the taping and told Leakes that she was hurt by her unsupportive friend.
Williams then unloaded on Leakes for her nonchalant attitude on the reunion.
“That makes me feel like any experience I have ever had with you was fake. For you to sit here and say, ‘No, I didn’t get you a gift,’ and ‘No, you’re not my friend’,” she said. “[T]hat sh*t f**king hurts.”
In March, the two frenemies had a heated text exchange and Williams shared screenshots on social media.
“You lying ass big fat hungry bitch! You know I never put my hands on you!” Leakes allegedly wrote to Williams.
Hollywood Life directly asked Williams if she felt the friendship could be saved. “Not necessarily,” she responded.
Williams explained that she’s choosing to focus on the many blessing in her left that dwell on the what’s gone down between her and Leakes.
“Right now, I’m still concentrating on being a new mom and my fiancé. I haven’t really thought about it. When you’re busy like this as a new mom, you really appreciate the support that is shown to you. If someone’s not calling them, you’re really not thinking about them.”
Meanwhile, NeNe’s own fans are calling her out for how she has been treating Porsha and Cynthia as her friendships with the two women crumble.
“You can never WIN when you play DIRTY! Stay woke #istaywinning,” she captioned an Instagram post that was not well-received by her followers.
Though Williams isn’t pressed to rekindle anything with Leakes, she does say that being a new mother has taught her patience.
She may extend that patience to her RHOA co-star … but maybe not until after her wedding to Dennis McKinley, which she revealed will be on New Year’s Eve.
“I’m super excited to start that!” she said about planning the event.
A Tennessee man is facing a first-degree murder charge after he beat a 4-month-old baby boy to death after finding out the infant wasn’t his son.
33-year-old Jose Avila-Agurcia was charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse in the April 12th death of Alexander Lizondro-Chacon, who he initially thought was his biological son, Commercial Appeal reported.
According to the arrest affidavit, police were called to a Memphis house on April 12th and found the 4-month-old baby unresponsive.
The newborn’s mother, Mercy Lizondro-Chacon, told officers her son was having trouble breathing.
The infant was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide due to blunt-force trauma to the head and also noted that the baby sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured skull and fractured rib.
The baby also was suffering from a serious case of pneumonia, the medical examiner said.
Mercy Lizondro-Chacon and Jose Avila-Agurcia, Lizandro-Chacon’s boyfriend, originally told investigators that they didn’t know how the four-month-old had been injured.
But about a week later, Lizondro-Chacon met with investigators and told them that Avila-Agurcia had confessed to her that he had struck the baby multiple times because he was angry when he found out he wasn’t the boy’s biological father.
A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesperson said in a statement that Jose Avila-Agurcia is an alias for Carlos Zuniga Aviles, an illegal alien from Honduras who has previously been deported five times.
BuzzFeed News reports that ICE officials have submitted an immigration detainer against the man and will continue to reinstate his removal after he faces the murder charge.
He’s being held in the Shelby County Jail without bond.
Remy Ma made headlines last week after she allegedly punched her Love & Hip Hop co-star Brittney Taylor in the face, and now she’s wearing an ankle monitor, as evidenced by a series of new photos she shared on Instagram today.
As we previously reported, Remy and Taylor were both attending an event in New York last Tuesday (Apr. 16) where Remy was scheduled to perform when a verbal argument between the two LHHNY rivals allegedly became physical.
Taylor took to Instagram the next day, showing off her black eye to her followers and calling Remy out for giving it to her.
“It’s hard to even focus because of what occurred last night,” she wrote in a now-deleted post. “I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn’t work. My Question is @remyma why did you really do this?
Now, any other time, someone from Love & Hip Hop assaulting a fellow cast member wouldn’t be a big deal. But Remy’s case is especially unique, considering she’s still on parole for shooting her friend in the stomach for allegedly stealing $1,000 from her purse years ago.
After going to the hospital, Taylor filed a police report, and though Remy has yet to be charged with anything (that we know of), police confirmed that they were investigating the altercation.
Fast forward about a week, and now Remy is out here showing off a brand spankin’ new ankle monitor on Instagram.

Singer Tony Sunshine also posted a couple of photos yesterday of him, Remy and Fat Joe at Yankee Stadium … and Remy’s wearing the same outfit as well as the ankle monitor.

Remy Ma has yet to talk about the alleged incident between her and Brittney Taylor, and police haven’t released any details about their “investigation,” but it’s clear that something’s going on because Remy wasn’t wearing the device in previous full-body photos posted on IG.

Is there something you would like to tell us, Reminisce?
Coachella is no doubt an unforgettable experience, but some attendees left the festival with a lot more than memories of good music and fun with friends.
TMZ reports that there was a “huge spike” in the number of people seeking treatment for herpes in the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas after the music festival kicked off on April 12th.
According to honchos at HerpAlert — an online diagnosis and treatment website for the STD — there’s been a huge spike in folks looking to get treated for herpes in the communities surrounding the famous music festival.
HerpAlert’s been in business for 2 years now, with doctors issuing prescriptions to pharmacies after people submit photos of their, umm … situation, for medical pros to review. The turnaround time is blazing fast, it only takes about 2 hours.
We’re told the site has seen a massive surge in folks seeking prescriptions for herpes since Day 1 at Coachella. A whopping 1,105 cases have been reported in Indio, Palm Desert and Coachella Valley — and also L.A., Orange and San Diego counties where most of the concertgoers live.
HerpAlert tells us they typically handle 12 cases a day in Southern Cali … but during the first 2 days of Coachella, the site serviced almost 250 patients!!! The biggest previous spike was during Oscars weekend 2018, when they got a mere 60 cases a day.
Harvard is calling BS on Blac Chyna’s claims that she was accepted into the university’s prestigious business school.
Earlier today, TMZ reported that Chyna had sent them an acceptance letter from Harvard Business School Online inviting her to take a course called Business Analytics, which teaches students how to interpret data and make smart business decisions. The 40-hour course spans over an eight-week period.
The news came after Chyna posted a note on Instagram Monday (Apr. 22) talking about how she’s been trying to make better decisions for herself, her children and her loved ones.
“Looking back on a lot of my actions, I’m reflecting and realizing that confusion is a serious thing,” she wrote. “Of course I’m not proud of some of the pain I have caused and I’m working to be the best me…I don’t talk on things often, but I promise to give you guys more of me.”
Regarding her alleged admission to Harvard Business School Online, Chyna said to TMZ in a statement:
“Where I’m at now is a stage of realization and growth! I want to be great for myself and my kids. School is going to help me take things up a couple of notches. People are always talking about me, might as well talk about the good. I’m excited for the next chapter.”
This would be great news … if it were true.
According to a statement from Harvard University, Chyna (real name: Angela White) is either lying about being accepted to their online business school or she was gravely mistaken.
“Harvard Business School Online has not admitted nor provided an acceptance letter to a person named Angela White,” the school told TMZ.
Before Harvard called Chyna out, TMZ reported that a self-described “Social Media Renaissance Man” named Christian Emiliano reached out to Chyna offering to do her schoolwork for her for $3,250—$2,250 for the course and $1,000 for his team to complete the entire course for her.
“Our team will complete all the course work for you, all you have to do is take one test (we will provide you the study guide) and then take credit for the program,” Emiliano told her in an e-mail. “You can go on the Harvard campus and take a picture with a Harvard hoodie on / you can post updates on your snapchat and Instagram Story,” he added.
So, at this point, it’s looking like Blac Chyna was scammed by the Social Media Renaissance Man … because that admissions letter she received was clearly fake.
John Singleton’s stroke was initially described by his family as “mild,” but now, sources are saying that the legendary filmmaker’s stroke was a lot more serious.
According to TMZ, Singleton suffered a “major” stroke and is currently in a coma. And while he’s recovering in the hospital, his family is reportedly in the process of establishing a conservatorship for him.
As we previously reported, Singleton had a stroke last week after returning from Costa Rica and experiencing problems with his legs.
He checked himself into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and suffered a stroke Wednesday (Apr. 17) while at the hospital.
His family released a statement Saturday saying that he’s “currently in the ICU and under great medical care.”
Legal documents obtained by TMZ reveal that John’s mother, Sheila Ward, has asked a judge to appoint her temporary conservator because he is “unable to properly provide for his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing, or shelter.”
According to Singleton’s mother, at the time he suffered the stroke, he was working on a number of business deals and was in the process of signing a lucrative settlement agreement.
Ms. Ward says she wants to handle those affairs and execute the settlement agreement, and because her 51-year-old son did not have any medical directives, he’s in need of a conservatorship.
Nipsey Hussle’s mother is speaking out about what a psychic medium told her Hussle did right after he passed away.
In a new video making the rounds on social media, Angelique Smith revealed she’s been communicating with her son Ermias Asghedom, best known as Nipsey Hussle, through a psychic medium.
Smith said Nipsey told her after he was shot, his spirit rose out of his body and chased down his killer Eric Holder “like a superhero.”
“His spirit came up out of his body, immediately,” Smith said. “The medium told me that he told her that he chased Eric Holder. His spirit, his spirit chased after him, like a superhero, you know? He came out of his body, he said, ‘quickly,’ and there was especially no pain.
“And like a superhero, he was already chasing, you know? But what did he do at first? He shook his hand. He was a gentleman. My son was a gentleman.”
Smith has tried her best to comfort Nipsey’s fans after his untimely death.
Just a day before his celebration of life, she shared an inspirational message offering hope and peace to those mourning the late rapper.
“I want you to know I am so happy and that Ermias is here with me right now,” she said. “I feel him. His spirit is right here with me. And I want you to know that death is not to be feared. I want you to know that we are spiritual beings first and we’re having a physical experience, which only lasts for a moment in time.”
Smith added that Nipsey’s life was really just beginning in an eternal sense.
“When you die, as they call it, you are just becoming a baby in your spirit,” she said. “You are just beginning to live your eternal life that never dies. Ermias will never die. You have him in your hearts. Every time you think of Ermias, he lives. His spirit is everywhere now.”
Smith also said that Nipsey looked at peace when she viewed his body before his public memorial service.
“I don’t want you to be traumatized. Ermias was more beautiful in death than he was in life,” Smith said. “Ermias didn’t have any marks on him when I viewed him. His hair was perfect; there was not one strand of hair that was out of place. All of the love and all of the compassion and all of the caring and the truthfulness and the generosity and the honesty … just all of the good things that were inside of Ermias’ heart, it’s as if they lifted off of his heart and they transferred to his face.”
Smith continued: “When you walk this earth and you do good deeds for people, and you are loving and kind, those are the things that will show on your face. You will look more beautiful. Death is just the beginning of a wonderful world. And I tell myself, Ermias liked thrilling things. And now my son knows the mystery—the secret, rather, to the mystery of life.”
Angelique Smith also had a similarly positive attitude while speaking about Nipsey at his celebration of life at the Staples Center earlier this month.
“I have perfect peace. I am happy. I am complete. I am strong. And if I can feel this way, you can, too,” she told the thousands of mourners at the service.
“We call on the energies who guide and protect us as we make our way in life. We call on our ancestors to join us at this service,” she said before naming deceased family members. “I would ask that all of our ancestors guide and protect us.”
Smith talked about how she felt the moment she learned her son had been shot and killed, saying that she sensed something bad was going to happen for weeks.
“I had not slept for two weeks leading up to this event on Sunday. When I went there I was not at perfect peace,” she recalled about arriving at Hussle’s Marathon Clothing Store the day he was killed.
Smith also urged her son’s fans and members of her community to embrace peace and a healthy lifestyle.
“I want to encourage you to choose a vegan lifestyle,” she said. “I want to encourage you to let [go of] your use of alcoholic beverages and narcotic substances. I want to tell you that we come from royalty and regality. I want to tell you that we are very loving and kind and a spiritual race of people. I want to tell you that we are very traumatized and pressurized people.”
Smith added: “We have to be the light of change that we want in the world. I’m very proud of my son. My son, Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was a great man.”
Nipsey Hussle was gunned down outside his The Marathon clothing store in Crenshaw, Los Angeles on March 31st. He was 33 years old.
Three Alabama friends have a new outlook on life after a chance encounter with an elderly woman in a restaurant and an act of kindness.
“The point in this is always be kind and be nice to people,” Jamario Howard wrote in a Facebook post that has gone viral. “You never know what they are going through.”
Howard and his two friends, JaMychol Baker and Tae Knight, were waiting for their food at an Oxford, Alabama eatery named Brad’s when they saw an elderly woman eating by herself.
“My exact thought was, ‘Dang I’d hate to have to eat alone,'” Howard wrote.
Howard decided to briefly sit with the woman and began a conversation with her. She revealed that the following day was her 60th wedding anniversary. Sadly, her husband had passed away. Howard was touched by the widow’s story.
“I instantly gave my condolences and asked her to come eat with us, which she was excited to do,” he continued in the post.
The window, Howard, Baker and Knight all shared a meal together at the same table and captured the moment in a picture.
Howard was profoundly moved by the encounter and felt compelled to share it on Facebook. The heartwarming post went viral and has been shared more than 50K times over 200K reactions.
He ended the post with a simple message for everyone, but always a helpful reminder:
“[I] can’t stress this enough. GO SEE YOUR MOM AND YOUR GRANDPARENTS. They miss you!!”
Jordyn Woods has spent most of her life in a Kardashian-Jenner world as Kylie Jenner’s best friend. But it took being shunned by the famous family and “bullied by the world” for Woods to fully the understand the plight of the black woman.
Woods spoke on a panel on Sunday (Apr. 21) during the Homecoming Festival in Nigeria. She discussed how being dragged on social media by Kardashian-Jenner fans following accusations she hooked up with Khloe Kardashian’s baby daddy, Tristan Thompson, helped her set an example for her sister.
“My little sister was bullied in school and I wanted to show her that if I was bullied by the world you can [get through it],” she said.
No longer protected by the Kar-Jenner bubble, the 21-year-old went on to say that experiencing the massive social media bullying was the first time she felt just how cruel society can be to black women.
“I understood for the first time what it’s like being a black woman in society, and how we can be so disrespected and nobody can really understand to that extent until you have to live it.”
While weathering the storm, it was also black women that had her back. Woods told her side of the cheating scandal on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk, revealing that she and Thompson kissed, but nothing more happened.
Her appearance on Red Table was well-received and Woods was embraced by black women who defended her against the trolls.
The tides slowly began to turn in Woods’ favor and Khloe eventually publicly apologized for solely blaming Woods for the breakup of her family.
Jordyn and Kylie still have not repaired their relationship, but it seems Jordyn is beginning to become the strong black woman she was meant to be.
A tour bus parked outside a Washington, D.C. venue hosting a Kodak Black concert was raided by the FBI and local police Wednesday night (Apr. 24) while the rapper was inside performing.
Photos obtained by TMZ show a number of FBI agents standing outside the bus. Those inside the bus were placed in handcuffs and brought outside the vehicle.
It wasn’t clear whether the bus belonged to Kodak, a crew member or someone else on the tour.
The feds reportedly roped off the area surrounding the bus and searched the luggage underneath the bus and everything inside.
Sources said the FBI agents tried to enter The Anthem (the venue where Kodak was performing) but promoters didn’t let them inside the building.
Kodak’s “Dying to Live” tour has been marred with issues, including an incident last week when his team was forced to cancel a show after he was arrested earlier in the day on weapons and gun charges at the U.S.-Canada border.
Police said they found weed and a gun in the car Kodak was driving. The rapper was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana and was released on $20,000 bail.
Following Kodak’s arrest, Live Nation announced that upcoming shows in Canada (Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver) were canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
Kashala Francis, a 13-year-old girl from Texas, died Wednesday morning (Apr. 24), just days after slipping into a coma after she was jumped by a group of teenage girls.
Kashala Francis was walking home from school one day last week and made it just a block from Attucks Middle School in Houston when she was attacked by two teenage girls, according to her mother.
A third girl joined in and kicked Kashala in the head while she was being held on the ground.
Kashala’s mother, Mamie Jackson, said that when Kashala came home from school Thursday afternoon (Apr. 18), she had bruises on her face, but said she was fine.
On Saturday, while spending the night at a family member’s house, Kashala started acting delusional, and on Sunday, she said she felt weak and called her mom complaining of a painful headache.
“I drove over and I told her to get up. I said, ‘Get up, Kashala.’ She kept saying, ‘Mama, my head hurts,’ so she laid down,” Mamie Jackson said.
Within moments, Kashala lost consciousness and Jackson called 911.
Kashala was rushed to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where she slipped into a coma.
Jackson said doctors treating her daughter at the hospital found a tumor in the back of her head that may have been exacerbated by the fight.
“We found out she has a large tumor in the back of her head, and she had fluid buildup in her brain,” Jackson said.
It remains unclear and pending an autopsy if Kashala died from the fight or the tumor, or whether it was a combination of the two, police said.
“Until the autopsy is finished, we won’t know,” Victor Senties—a spokesman for the Houston Police Department—told ABC News.
The case is currently being investigated as a homicide, Senties said.
He said no arrests have been made and declined to give any further details about the investigation.
Jackson cried as she described a video of the fight showing her daughter being kicked and punched. “I can see these girls kicking her in the head while other children are laughing at her,” she said.
Houston Independent School District officials released a statement saying they were aware of the “off-campus altercation” and cooperating with the Houston Police Department’s investigation.
Britney Spears is speaking out for the first time since entering a mental health facility after a bizarre conspiracy theory that she is being held against her will by her team and family gained traction.
The singer took to Instagram on Tuesday (Apr. 23) to tell her fans, and the world, that “all is well” in a short video message.
“Hi guys, just checking in with all of you who are concerned about me. All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.”
It seems Spears recorded the message from within the California mental health facility where she’s currently seeking treatment.
Though the video was short, it was accompanied by a longer written message in which she directly addresses speculation that she was involuntarily committed and is being held against her will.
She writes that the rumors have “gotten out control” and have led to death threats of her family and team. She assured fans that she made the choice to seek help and that the current rumors aren’t helping.
“My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment. You may not know this about me, but I am strong, and stand up for what I want!” she wrote in part.
“What I need right now is a little bit of privacy to deal with all the hard things that life is throwing my way.”
Spears announced that she was voluntarily entering a 30-day program earlier this month due to emotional distress caused by her father’s current health issues.
However, last week, hosts of the “Britney’s Gram” podcast speculated that it was not Spears’ choice to seek treatment and that she’s being held against her will by her father and those in charge of her court-approved conservatorship, which manages Spears’ wellbeing and financial affairs.
The podcast was tipped off by an anonymous source who claimed to be a paralegal and knew inside knowledge regarding Spears’ conservatorship.
The conspiracy theory gained traction and sparked the #FreeBritney hashtag, which celebrities like Eve and Paris Hilton used. Spears’ own mother even “liked” some of the posts, adding fuel to conspiracy.

On Monday (Apr. 22), several Spears fans staged a protest in Los Angeles in an effort to “free” Spears.

TMZ also released a detailed report explaining that Spears’ conservatorship does not allow her father or anyone else serving as a conservator to force Spears on medication or into a mental health facility.
However, the outlet noted that Spears’ stay in the facility was triggered by her medication and not by emotional stress of her father’s health.
Spears made her first public appearance since entering treatment on Easter Sunday. She received a day pass for the holiday and some felt she looked “disheveled.”
Interestingly, earlier today, Spears posted one more video in an attempt to quell the wild rumors and put fans at ease. The performer is seen exercising and then dancing as “I Like It” by Cardi, Bad Bunny and J Balvin plays.
“Who knew stress would be a great 5 pound weight loss,” she wrote.
Prior to the three April IG posts regarding her mental health status, Spears had not posted on social media since January when she abruptly cancelled her upcoming Las Vegas residency and announced an “indefinite work hiatus” to focus on her father’s health.
Writer’s Note: I have been a huge Britney Spears fan since her now-iconic 1998 debut single. Spears’ mental stability has obviously been a concern of mine (and fans) since her 2007/08 breakdown. Her health is of extreme importance and we wish her well as she takes the necessary actions to get better.
The white supremacist behind one of the late 20th century’s most notorious hate crimes has been put to death by legal injection in Texas.
John William King—a proud racist who orchestrated the brutal murder of James Byrd Jr. in Jasper, Texas in 1998—was executed Wednesday (Apr. 24) at the Texas State Penitentiary and was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m., a corrections spokesperson said.
Asked whether he had a final statement, King said, “No,” and then wrote out a single-sentence statement reading: “capital punishment: Them without the capital get the punishment,” the spokesman said.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito denied a last-minute application for a stay of execution, which delayed the execution by about an hour.
King was the ringleader of a group that chained Byrd, 49, who was African American, to the back of a 1992 Ford pickup truck and dragged him to his death over nearly three miles in the woods outside Jasper, Texas, on June 7, 1998. The killers left Byrd’s mangled body by a roadside.
Byrd’s murder shocked the nation and put a harsh light on race relations in the small town on the Louisiana border.
“I hope people remember him not as a hate crime statistic. This was a real person. A family man, a father, a brother and a son,” Mylinda Byrd Washington, one of Byrd’s sisters, said recently.
King, who has never shied from his racist beliefs, has hateful tattoos on his body, including one with a black person hanging by a noose from a tree, Nazi symbols and the words “Aryan Pride.”
Louvon Byrd Harris, one of Byrd’s sisters, had planned to attend Wednesday’s execution.
“I think it will be a message to the world that when you do something horrible like that, that you have to pay the high penalty,” she said.
Harris said King’s death at the end of a syringe paled in comparison to the unspeakable terror and pain her brother felt as he was being killed.
“All they are going to do is go to sleep. But half the things they did to James, all the suffering he had to go through, they still get an easy way out to me,” she said.
King, who said Byrd’s death was a drug deal gone awry and not a hate-fueled murder, was the second man to be put to death in the case following the 2011 execution of Lawrence Russell Brewer.
The third person convicted in Byrd’s murder, Shawn Allen Berry, was sentenced to life in prison.
Rapper Bun B was involved in a shooting inside his home in Houston, Texas Tuesday evening (Apr. 23) after a masked intruder held his wife at gunpoint and tried to steal her car.
According to Houston’s Fox 26 News, Queenie Freeman (Bun B’s wife) told police she heard the doorbell ring and answered it, thinking it was a delivery man dropping off a package she was expecting.
Instead, Queenie was met with an armed introducer who forced his way into the home and demanded money and valuables. Queenie said she told the man to go in the garage and take her Audi.
Bun B, whose real name is Bernard Freeman, heard the commotion going on from upstairs, so he grabbed his pistol and confronted the intruder in the garage as he was getting into the car.
A shootout between Bun B and the intruder ensued, and the man ran away, leaving his gun behind. Bun B chased the suspect down and pulled off his mask, revealing his identity. Police said the suspect broke free from Bun B and ran away.
The suspect, who has since been identified as 20-year-old DeMonte Jackson, later showed up at Pearland Medical Center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his left shoulder several hours later, police said.
Bun B and his wife Queenie were unharmed in the incident, but their attorney said Queenie is especially upset because Jackson pointed his gun at her head.
Jackson was charged with three felonies—two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary with intent to commit another felony.
Police said Bun B identified Jackson as the suspect in a lineup.
Jackson appeared in court Wednesday (Apr. 24) wearing a sling on his left arm and stood motionless as his charges were read aloud. His bond was set at $90,000 for all three charges.
Bun B is best known as one half of the southern rap duo UGK (UnderGround Kingz), a group he formed in the late 1980s with Pimp C.
He also teaches a class called “Religion and Hip Hop Culture” at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
