UPDATE: Kodak Black Released From Jail on $20K Cash Bond

Original story: Just hours after it was reported that Kodak Black was a no-show at a concert Wednesday night (Apr. 17) at the House of Blues in Boston, it was revealed that the Florida rapper had been arrested by U.S. Customs Agents for weapons and drugs charges at the U.S.-Canada border earlier that day.

According to Buffalo’s WKBW News, New York State Police said Kodak (whose real name is “Bill Kapri”) was with three other men attempting to enter the United States via the Lewiston-Queenston International Bridge when they were detained at the border for weapon and drug possession.

Police said Kodak had marijuana and a Glock 9mm pistol that he didn’t declare inside the Cadillac Escalade he was driving.

According to TMZ, there was also a Porsche traveling with Kodak’s team with 3 other people, and the driver of that vehicle declared two loaded handguns, but didn’t declare a third that was found by police in the trunk.

Police said they also found more marijuana in the Porsche, and arrested 22-year-old Jeantony Saintmelus (the driver) for criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana. Stetson President and Madarrow Smith (the passengers) were also arrested for criminal possession of a weapon.

A spokesman for Customs and Border Protection said in a statement:

“On Wednesday, two vehicles occupied by U.S. Citizens were encountered at the Lewiston-Queenston Port of Entry. During the initial inspection, the U.S. citizens admitted to being in possession of marijuana and firearms.

“During a secondary inspection, it was revealed that the weapons were possessed unlawfully in New York State and subsequently the marijuana, firearms and subjects were turned over to the New York State Police for further processing.

“U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations continuously works in collaboration with our law enforcement partners, which include federal, state and local agencies.”

All four men were arraigned in Lewiston Town Court and taken to the Niagara County Jail to be booked on their charges. They’re all due back in court in May.

Though Kodak never made it to his Boston show, his tour bus did, and it was surrounded by angry fans after being told that the rapper wasn’t performing.

TMZ reported that Kodak’s fans waited outside for several hours before his team canceled the gig.

This has been an especially busy week for Kodak Black, who has been beefing with damn near the entire Hip Hop industry after making disrespectful comments about Lauren London following the death of Nipsey Hussle.
