Chicago Rapper EBE Bandz Still Missing, Coroner Says He Was NOT Found Dead in the Trunk of His Car (UPDATE!)

UPDATE: EBE Bandz aka Billy Da Kid Found Dead in Winnebago County, 2 Men Arrested For His Murder

Original story: A Chicago rapper known as EBE Bandz was reported missing last week and internet reports ran rampant that he had been found dead in the trunk of his car. But according to the county coroner, the rapper was not found dead and there was not a body in the vehicle.

Last Wednesday (May 29), EBE Bandz’ manager “Big C” posted an alarming message on the rapper’s Instagram page, saying that Bandz (real name: William Pickering) hadn’t been heard from for several days. Also, his car was found in his garage and his house had been trashed, Big C said.

He wrote: “The last people I know he talked to him Sunday in the early AM when he was driving home.”

On Friday (May 31), EBE Bandz’ team revealed to VladTV that the 23-year-old rapper’s mother had officially filed a missing person report with the police.

And on Monday (Jun 3), police in Rockford, Illinois revealed that they were investigating a missing person report connected to what they called “suspicious activity” in regards to EBE Bandz’ disappearance.

Via Rockford’s WREX News:

Police say they are investigating a missing person by the name of William Pickering, who also happens to go by his rap name, EBE Bandz.

Police started investigating in a garage at the Valencia apartments in the 500 block of Fisher Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Police confirm they are still investigating that incident and that it is connected to the missing person report of William Pickering.

A number of officers were seen at Bandz’ apartment complex. The area was covered with yellow tap and Bandz’ Dodge Challenger could be seen in his garage.

According to the Rockford Star, police spokeswoman Christie Castillo said investigators were aware of social media posts claiming that the rapper was dead and this body had been found in a car in a garage in Rockford, or in the trunk of a car in Indiana or Chicago … however, Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hints says none of that is true.

As far as the investigation is concerned, EBE Bandz is still considered a missing person at this time.

Sorry Diddy and Dr. Dre, But Jay-Z is Hip-Hop’s First Billionaire

According to Forbes magazine, Jay-Z is the richest man in Hip-Hop, beating out other notable contenders such as Diddy and Dr. Dre.

Forbes reports that “Mr. Beyoncé Knowles,” as CNN hilariously referred to him, is worth a whopping $1 billion, making hip Hip-Hop’s first ever billionaire.

For the sake of comparison, Dr. Dre’s current personal net worth is $850 million and Diddy’s is $825 million, which are both very close to the Big B, but no cigar.

Even more impressive, Forbes says Jay-Z has earned more than $500 million in cash the past decade alone (at least $50 million per year) proving that he’s really not just a businessman, he’s a business, man.

Of course, the rapper turned billionaire has hands in a lot of companies, as Forbes notes that his investment portfolio includes liquor and fashion brands, his music streaming service TIDAL, his art collection, real estate, stakes in tech companies like Uber, and more.

And all of that is on top of the money he makes as an entertainer. For instance, in 2017, he signed a $200 million touring deal with Live Nation.

Mr. Shawn Carter also heads a record label and talent management company called Roc Nation that features a roster of major artists like Rihanna, Kanye West, J. Cole, Meek Mill, D.J. Khaled, T.I., Alicia Keys and more.

Roc Nation also has a sports division with Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant, Andre Ward, Jalen Rose and many others on its roster.

As for exactly how everything factors into his billion-dollar net worth, Forbes has the whole breakdown right here.

West Virginia Official Who Called Michelle Obama an “Ape in Heels” is Going to Jail for Defrauding FEMA of $18,000

A former West Virginia county official who referred to Michelle Obama as an “ape in heels” in 2016 is going to prison for defrauding the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

A federal judge sentenced Pamela Taylor to 10 months in prison and a $10,000 fine after she pled guilty to embezzling more than $18,000 of FEMA disaster benefits.

Following her release, she will have two months of home confinement and three years of supervised release.

In June 2016, the 57-year-old falsely registered for FEMA assistance, claiming that her primary residence was damaged by the deadly floods that had ravaged the state and killed 23 people. She also claimed she was staying in a rental unit.

In reality, Taylor’s home suffered no damage and she was living at the residence when she applied for assistance.

Taylor has already repaid the $18,149.04 she stole from FEMA, per her plea agreement.

“Stealing critical FEMA dollars is a crime – literally and figuratively,” U.S. Attorney Mike Stuart said when Taylor pled guilty in February. “Taylor’s fraud scheme diverted disaster benefits from our most desperate and vulnerable, those most in need of help.”

Just months after knowingly defrauding the federal government, Taylor was dragged online for a racist Facebook post about then-First Lady Michelle Obama.

“It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House. I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels,” she wrote in November 2016 after Trump was elected.

Taylor was eventually fired from her position and the West Virginia mayor who agreed with the racist comment resigned.

Houston Police Confirm Remains Found in Arkansas Belong to Missing Girl Maleah Davis

The month-long search for Maleah Davis is officially over as Houston police have confirmed that the medical examiner on Monday (Jun 3) positively identified the human remains found in Arkansas over the weekend as the missing 4-year-old.

Via Click2Houston:

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences said the 4-year-old girl’s cause and manner of death are pending further tests and investigation.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said in a written statement that his office will continue to work with prosecutors to ensure those responsible for Maleah’s death are brought to justice.

“The Houston Police Department will continue to work diligently with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and other partners to ensure the person(s) responsible for her death, and the attempted cover-up of her death, are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” Acevedo said in the statement. “HPD will not rest until justice is served in this case.”

Maleah Davis was reported missing May 4 by her stepfather, Derion Vence. He was arrested seven days later on a charge of tampering with evidence.

According to community activist Quanell X, Vence confessed to him that he dumped Maleah’s body in Arkansas and that her death was the result of an accident.

Vence has been held in jail since his arrest.

Earlier today, we reported that a man who helped search for Maleah Davis said that her body was left in a plastic bag that had been run over by mowers. He said the child’s remains were in such a terrible state that it will likely be “impossible” for the medical examiner to determine an official cause of death.

“It was a gruesome sight. It was a terrible sight to see. It took hours gathering up body parts and evidence,” said Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller.

One image Miller said he couldn’t shake was seeing a little pink barrette among the remains thrown out like trash on the side of the road. He said he was “99.9 percent” certain that the remains belonged to Maleah.

While Miller hoped that this story would have a much happier ending, he said can at least find solace in knowing that they were able to bring the little girl home so that she can finally be laid to rest.

“I don’t regret one minute of one day that we searched,” said Miller.

Houston community activist Quanell X said Derion Vence, the former fiancée of Maleah’s mother, Brittany Bowens, and the last person who was with Maleah when she was alive, told him that he killed her on accident and also admitted to dumping her body off a road in Arkansas.

According to Quanell, Vence and Bowens had gotten into an argument while Maleah was in his care, and when Bowens allegedly called Vence gay, he “snapped” and took his anger out on Maleah.

Quanell said Vence told him he put Maleah’s body in a trash bag, put the trash bag in the trunk of his car, and then drove to Arkansas before dumping the bag in a wooded area.

Vence was seen on security cameras leaving the family’s apartment with a laundry basket with a black trash bag inside just one day before reporting Maleah missing and a few days after the last time she was seen alive.

On Friday (May 31), police found a black garbage bag “with a foul odor” and containing bones and blood off I-30 in Fulton in Hempstead County, in the southwest part of Arkansas. They confirmed that the remains belong to a child, but couldn’t confirm the child’s identity, pending an autopsy.

Derion Vence was arrested and charged with tampering with a human corpse in connection with Maleah’s disappearance and remains in jail.

Man Who Helped Look for Maleah Davis Says Child’s Remains Were Run Over By Mowers & It Will Be “Impossible” to Determine Cause of Death

UPDATE (06/03/18): Houston Police Confirm Remains Found in Arkansas Belong to Missing Girl Maleah Davis

While we wait for a medical examiner to confirm whether the remains of a child found in Arkansas belong to Maleah Davis, one man who helped search for the missing 4-year-old Texas girl says he’s sure the body is Maleah’s.

Tim Miller, founder of Texas EquuSearch—a search and rescue organization dedicated to finding missing persons—was among the many volunteers who spent the past month searching for Maleah Davis all over Houston, hoping to find the little girl alive before sadly pivoting to locating her body to bring her back home for a proper burial.

When Miller got word that the remains of a child were found in Arkansas, possibly belonging to Maleah, he went straight to the scene where he was met with what he described as a “gruesome sight.”

“It was a terrible sight to see,” he told Houston’s KHOU 11 News. “It took hours gathering up body parts and evidence.”

Miller, who chartered a private plane to get Houston investigators to Arkansas as quickly as possible, said the child’s body was left in a plastic bag that had been run over by mowers.

Now Harris County medical examiners are testing what was left of the remains to determine a positive identity and a cause of death, the latter of which Miller says will likely be “impossible” based on what he saw.

One image Miller said he can’t shake is seeing a little pink barrette among the remains thrown out like trash on the side of the road. He said he’s “99.9 percent” certain that the remains belong to Maleah.

“I think it’s going to match some clothing and some other things there that were found,” he said.

“Derion snapped, and I believe he punched that child in the head because that’s what he had done before,” Quanell told ABC 13 Eyewitness News.

“The mother admitted to me that he had done it before … He was angry with Brittany and he was very agitated with Brittany about her discovering him, sending these pictures of his private parts to another man and she calling him gay and saying that she was giving a ring back to him and that drove him over the edge.”

Quanell said Vence told him he put Maleah’s body in a trash bag, put the trash bag in the trunk of his car, and then drove to Arkansas before dumping the bad in a wooded area.

Officials with the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office said it could be a while before they’re able to identify the remains.

Good News! Baby Cut From Murdered Mother’s Womb in Sadistic Attack Takes First Breath Without Machines After 6 Weeks in the NICU

A six-week-old Chicago baby ripped from his mother’s stomach in a “womb raider” attack has reached a miraculous milestone in his recovery. He breathed on his own for the first time without a ventilator.

“It’s still a long way to go for the baby, but the baby is fighting and surviving,” Frank Avila, an attorney for infant Yovani Lopez’s family said in a statement on Friday (May 31).

Baby Yovani was not expected to live long after being cut out of his murdered mother’s stomach in April. And just last month, his family said Yovani exhibited signs of “zero brain function.” However, the family refused to turn off life-support and the baby continued to fight to survive.

On April 23rd, Yovani’s mother, 19-year-old Marlen Ochoa-Lopez was strangled to death by Clarisa Figueroa, 46, and her daughter, Desiree, 24. The mother-daughter pair then used a butcher knife to take the unborn baby from Ochoa-Lopez’s womb and Figueroa posed as the infant’s mother.

Pictured (L to R): Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, Desiree Figueroa, Clarisa Figueroa and Piotr Bobak

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the baby blue and dying. They transported him and Figueroa to the Christ Medical Center where he was immediately placed in intensive care.

Though doctors found “no signs consistent with a woman who had just delivered a baby” and Figueroa was covered in Ochoa-Lopez’s blood, Figueroa was able to pose as baby Yovani’s mother for nearly three weeks.

All the while, Ochoa-Lopez’s body was decomposing in a trash can beside Figueroa’s garage, with the cord used to strangle her still wrapped around her neck.

Christ Medical Center is now under investigation for failing to alert authorities or the Department of Children and Families after examining Figueroa.

Figueroa and her daughter, Desiree, were charged with first-degree murder in the death of Ochoa-Lopez last month and held without bond.

Figueroa’s boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, was also charged with concealment of a homicide.

Detroit Man Shoots 18-Year-Old Taking Prom Photos in Front of His House

A Detroit man who was upset about a group of teens taking photos in front of his house pulled out a gun and opened fire on the high schoolers, striking and seriously injuring an 18-year-old.

Police said the teens were standing in front of a home for a prom send-off on Friday (May 31) when the homeowner came outside and started complaining about the crowd that had gathered in his front yard.

Police said the homeowner, whose identity hasn’t been released, then pulled out a gun and fired several shots into the crowd, hitting an 18-year-old.

The suspect then got into a blue or gray Hyundai vehicle and fled the scene, police said.

The teen who was shot was privately taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in serious condition.

The gunman was described as a black man in his 40’s, about 6-feet tall, stocky build, wearing eyeglasses, a baseball cap and braids.

Detroit police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them as their investigation continues.

Family of YNW Melly’s Alleged Murder Victim “Fully” Supports Death Penalty, Says Rapper Deserves to Die

As YNW Melly remains in jail on Florida while awaiting the trial for allegedly murdering his two friends, the family of one the shooting victims has announced that they “100% fully support” Florida prosecutor’s decision to seek the death penalty, essentially saying that the rapper deserves to die for (allegedly) taking their loved one away from them.

The family of Anthony Williams (aka YNW Sakchaser), through their attorneys at Steinger, Greene & Feiner, told TMZ: “If the state of Florida feels the death penalty is warranted in this case then we 100% fully support it.”

The family added: “YNW Melly should feel the exact fear and panic he so viciously and consciously brought upon his innocent victims.”

According to TMZ, the case is “tragically complicated” for the Williams family because, prior to Anthony’s murder, they were very close with the Florida rapper and treated him like he was a member of the family, at one point even opening their home to him.

The rapper even has the name “Jana” tattooed on his neck in honor of Anthony’s mother, as seen below in his mugshot.

But none of that matters to the State of Florida because they believe they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Melly (real name: Jamell Demons) and an accomplice, Cortlen Henry (aka YNW Bortlen) shot and killed Williams and another man named Christopher Thomas (YNW Juvy)—both members of the rapper’s “YNW” crew. (FYI: “YNW” stands for “Young N***a World.”)

Florida prosecutors also say Demons and Henry drove around with Williams and Thomas’ dead bodies as they tried to come up with a story to tell police before dropping the two shooting victims off at the ER.

Demons and Henry told police that the four of them had been attacked in a drive-by shooting, and prosecutors said the men staged the crime scene to look that way.

Demons and Henry were both charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and have both pleaded guilty.

Melly filed legal docs Friday (May 31) requesting the judge to release him on bail because he doesn’t think it’s fair that he has to await trial in jail since he voluntarily surrendered himself into police custody immediately after his arrest warrant was issued. The judge has yet to rule.

Maryland Couple Found Dead Inside Hotel Room at Luxury Dominican Republic Resort Days After Sharing Happy Vacation Photos on Facebook

A Maryland couple was found dead in their hotel room at a luxury resort while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

According to family members, 50-year-old Cynthia Day and 63-year-old Nathaniel Holmes checked in to the Bahía Príncipe Playa Nueva Romana hotel at the Playa Nueva Romana resort on Tuesday (May 28) and were scheduled to leave Thursday, the same day their bodies were discovered in their room by a hotel worker.

Officials for the U.S. State Department said there were “no signs of violence” and bottles of heart medication were found near the couple, though they didn’t specify where or not the bottles were empty.

DR newspaper Diario Libre reported that police said Holmes had called for a hotel doctor Thursday morning complaining that he didn’t feel well, however, the man reportedly refused medical care when the doctor showed up.

Holmes’ sister said her brother “was having a great time” when she talked to him a couple of days prior to the couple’s death. And a series of photos shared to Facebook Tuesday by Holmes indicated that he was having such a great time that he didn’t want to come home.

Holmes’ daughter, Dajuan Holmes-Hamilton, wants to know exactly what happened to her father.

“It should have never happened,” Holmes-Hamilton told NBC4, adding that Holmes was a grandfather who was looking forward to seeing her daughter.

Cynthia Day and Nathaniel Holmes—who, according to family members, had recently gotten engaged—are the second American couple to die while on vacation in the Caribbean country since March.

In April, the bodies of 43-year-old Orlando Moore and 42-year-old Portia Ravenelle were found in a vehicle submerged in water not too far away from a road where the couple was driving from their hotel to the airport.

Portia Ravenelle and Orlando Moore

Ravenelle and Moore were due to leave the island country on March 26th and had checked out of their room, but never made it to the airport.

Dominican Republic police concluded that a deadly combination of alcohol, speeding and dark roads may have contributed to the deaths of the New York couple who stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa hotel in Samana.

Earlier this week, a Delaware woman recalled a January attack at a DR resort in which she was brutally beaten for hours and left for dead.

51-year-old Tammy Lawrence-Daley had been on vacation with her husband at the Majestic Elegance resort in Punta Cana when she says she went out alone to grab a quick snack around 10:30 p.m.

She said a man wearing a resort uniform pushed her from behind and she tried to fight him off, but lost consciousness as he beat her nearly to death.

Lawrence-Daley claimed her attacker dragged her down concrete stairs to an underground wastewater area in what she said was a deliberate attempt to hide her body and make it so that no one could hear her screaming for help.

She recalled telling her husband she would be back to their room in five minutes, but she ended up being missing for eight hours.

The woman said the resort claimed no responsibility for the attack since she couldn’t identify her attacker “even though he was wearing a uniform with the resort logo and hit me directly in front of the unlocked maintenance room and dragged me down concrete stairs to a basement so that no one could hear or find me.”

The State Department raised the threat level in the Dominican Republic in April and urged travelers to be cautious due to the country’s high crime rates, which include armed robbery, homicide and sexual assault.

Mugshot Madness: Lil Durk Denied Bond After Turning Himself in to Police for Attempted Murder

Lil Durk will remain in jail after being arrested for attempted murder because a judge refuses to grant him bond … at least for now.

The rapper, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, turned himself in to police in Atlanta Thursday night (May 30) after an arrest warrant was issued related to his alleged involvement in a shooting at the city’s world-famous The Varsity restaurant.

Durk was booked in the Fulton County Jail on several felony charges, including criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

He appeared in court Friday (May 31) and was denied bond, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.

Atlanta police say Durk shot a man outside the midtown restaurant on February 5th after an argument broke out.

Investigators said the victim, a man whose name hasn’t been released, was found by police outside the popular Atlanta landmark suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Police said they also found several shell casings in the restaurant’s parking lot.

The unidentified man was taken to Atlanta Medical Center in serious condition, but has since recovered.

Lil Durk was on tour prior to his arrest, and canceled a string of shows so that he could travel to Georgia to surrender to police.

The Chicago rapper’s attorney said he plans on continuing the tour once he’s released.

YNW Melly Begs Judge to Release Him on Bail in Double Murder Case, Says He’s Not a Flight Risk

YNW Melly doesn’t think that it’s fair that he has to stay in jail while he awaits trial for allegedly murdering his two friends, and he’s asking a judge to allow him to post bond.

TMZ reports that the rapper filed legal documents requesting a judge to grant him bond so that he can be a free man until his trial for the double murder case.

Melly (real name: Jamell Demons) says that the fact that he voluntarily turns himself in should prove that he’s not a flight risk because if he was going to go on the run, he would have done so when he was first hit with the capital murder charges earlier this year.

As for the case, in which he is accused of shooting and killing his friends and staging the murder scene to look like a drive-by, Melly doesn’t think they have enough evidence to tie him to the shooting because there’s no murder weapon, no witnesses, no DNA evidence implicating him and no motive.

The State of Florida, however, doesn’t agree with Melly’s claims of innocence, and is seeking the death penalty if he’s convicted.

Prosecutors say they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Melly and Cortlen Henry (aka YNW Bortlen) murdered Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) in cold blood, then shot up their own car to make it look like they were attacked in a drive-by before leaving the victims at the ER, even though cops say the men were already dead.

John Witherspoon Confirms “The Boondocks” is Coming Back for Season 5!

The Boondocks fans rejoice … because the best cartoon series of all time is coming back! Or at least that’s what John Witherspoon is saying.

It’s been almost five years since the fourth and final season of The Boondocks ended, but the voice of Granddad Robert Freeman says that the show is headed back to television for a fifth season.

The 77-year-old actor revealed the news during a recent interview on comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast. He was explaining how he stays true to himself with every role that he plays when he announced that The Boondocks would be returning to the small screen very soon.

“I’m on the cartoon—what is it? The Boondocks? I didn’t change my voice for The Boondocks,” Witherspoon said. “And they coming back. The Boondocks is coming back … It’s one of the best cartoons I’ve ever been on.”

There aren’t any details on when the show will return or where they are production-wise, and we have no idea if creator Aaron McGruder even will be a part of it.

McGruder famously parted ways with the series prior to season 4 after he and network execs at Adult Swim couldn’t come to an agreement on the show’s production and creative process.

Earlier this year, however, McGruder shared a series of The Boondocks comic strips (via Charlamagne tha God’s Instagram) addressing current hot topics like the Russia investigation, Trump’s Border Wall, the #MuteRKelly movement and more.

“Did these for fun (and to see if I still could). More to come… exactly how much more is tough to say,” McGruder said. “These strips were only possible due to the enormous talent of my good friend Seung Kim, who did the animation for the old show – and he’s a busy guy. Thanks to him and thanks to Charlamagne for putting these out for me while I get my instagram act together.”

With everything going on in the worlds of Pop Culture and Politics (and sometimes with someone like Donald Trump in office, those lines are incredibly blurred), something like The Boondocks is certainly needed today.

Looking forward to Season 5 and HOPEFULLY, Aaron McGruder will be a part of it so that it won’t end up being a big ole pile of trash like Season 4 (which never happened and was all a bad dream as far as we’re concerned).

One huge question though: Can they afford Regina King?

Maleah Davis’ Stepdad Reportedly “Snapped” & Punched Her in the Head After Maleah’s Mother Called Him Gay

UPDATE (06/03/18): Houston Police Confirm Remains Found in Arkansas Belong to Missing Girl Maleah Davis

Houston community activist Quanell X has provided a shocking revelation regarding the month-long disappearance of 4-year-old Maleah Davis.

Earlier today, Quanell said that he has talked with Maleah’s “stepfather” Derion Vence, who is the prime suspect in the Houston girl’s disappearance, and he said Vence told him that Maleah is dead and her body was dumped off a road in Arkansas.

Hours after revealing that shocking news, Quanell spoke with Houston’s ABC 13 (KTRK) Eyewitness News and told them what Vence said happened prior to Maleah’s disappearance.

Quanell said Vince told him he felt overwhelmed because he took care of Maleah and his other kids most of the time, and Maleah’s mother, his fiancée (at the time), Brittany Bowens, wasn’t there to help.

According to Quanell, Vence said around the time Bowens left town to attend her father’s funeral, she called home and they got into an argument, and she accused him of being gay, which Quanell said set Vence off.

“Derion snapped, and I believe he punched that child in the head because that’s what he had done before,” Quanell told ABC 13 anchor Chauncy Glover.

“The mother admitted to me that he had done it before … He was angry with Brittany and he was very agitated with Brittany about her discovering him, sending these pictures of his private parts to another man and she calling him gay and saying that she was giving a ring back to him and that drove him over the edge.”

Quanell said Vence told him he put Maleah’s body in a trash bag, put the trash back in the trunk of his car, and then drove to Arkansas and dumped the bag in a wooded area.

Earlier today, police confirmed that a black garbage bag “with a foul odor” and containing bones and blood was found off I-30 in Fulton in Hempstead County, in the southwest part of Arkansas.

Investigators are still working to identify the remains in the bag.

Houston police have confirmed that the remains belong to a child, but they wouldn’t confirm the child’s identity.

Vence, who was arrested and has been charged with tampering with a human corpse in connection with Maleah’s disappearance, remains in jail at this time.

Bowens has denied claims of knowing about any prior abuse at the hands of Vence or covering it up.

Amid the search for Maleah Davis, police confirmed that a black garbage bag with remains found in Fulton, Arkansas were those of a child.

The news comes not long after it was revealed that Maleah’s stepfather, Derion Vence, had allegedly confessed to dumping Maleah’s body remains in Arkansas after she died by accident.

ABC 13 reports:

Community activist Quanell X, who advocated for Maleah’s mother, Brittany Bowens, told ABC13 Eyewitness News of the discovery. Hours earlier, Quanell told reporters that the suspect in the disappearance, Derion Vence, confessed that the girl died by accident and her body was dumped in Arkansas.

Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton added a road crew in Fulton, Arkansas, located the bag with a foul odor.

It’s not yet confirmed whether the remains belong to the little girl. Houston police said they were sending officers to the area.

On Friday, Quanell, told reporters about the new information he claimed to have received from Derion Vence, the suspect in Maleah’s disappearance.

Quanell said he met earlier in the day with Vence, who has been behind bars since May 11. Among the key details shared with reporters, Quanell said Maleah is dead as a result of an accident. He did not specify how she died.

“All I can say is he told me it was an accident, and that she is dead and where he dumped her body,” Quanell said.

Quanell met with reporters in a southwest Houston parking lot where he also met with Texas EquuSearch and detectives about what Vence told him.

Quanell withheld where he was told the body was dumped, only to say it was somewhere in Arkansas. He added that Vence was specific about the “distance and time” of the body’s location.

“He said he pulled over in Arkansas, got out of the car, walked off the side of the road, and dumped her body off the side of the road,” Quanell said.

Quanell also revealed that Maleah’s body was dumped there “early on,” possibly indicating shortly after when the girl was first reported missing. The time of her death was not indicated.

Pressed on whether he believed Vence’s latest story, Quannell was confident this is truthful. “I think it’s the truth. I don’t think he was lying to me. I think he was telling the truth. Many men have confessed to this type of crime,” he said.

Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch added that he thinks the details are true enough to move the search to Arkansas. He added he didn’t believe many searchers would be needed based on their information.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg weighed on the new developments, adding there has not been a plea deal in the case. Ogg’s office released this statement:

“Let’s let search teams do what search teams do. We have spoken with the defendant’s lawyer and there is no agreement. We continue to work with the Houston Police Department to bring justice for Maleah Davis.”

Maleah was last seen alive on the morning of April 30th, the same day her mother left town for a funeral. Surveillance cameras captured Vence bringing Maleah to the apartment (below left) around 8 a.m.

Maleah was never seen leaving the apartment and Vence was never seen with her after that morning. Later that same day, Vence was seen on surveillance video recorded by a neighbor walking through the apartment complex alone.

Surveillance cameras also captured Vence leaving the family’s apartment alone around 1:40 p.m. on May 3rd (above) carrying a laundry basket with a black trash bag inside.

Another surveillance photo from May 3rd shows Vence and his 1-year-old son leaving the apartment at 6:47 p.m. (above), around the same time Vence said he left for the airport to pick up Maleah’s mother from the airport. Maleah isn’t seen in the image, and Vence appears to be carrying a bottle of bleach.

Investigators said after searching the family’s home, they found blood that matched Maleah’s DNA that was taken from her toothbrush. Houston police also said they later found the laundry basket and a can of gas in the trunk of the Nissan Altima Vence had reported stolen.

Police said two canine officers trained to sniff out the scent of dead bodies were brought to the car, and both dogs reacted to the trunk, indicating that they sensed human decomposition inside the vehicle.

When Vence and the kids didn’t arrive at the airport on time, Bowens had another family to pick her up from the airport. After not hearing from Vence, she filed a police report the morning of Saturday, May 4th, and an Amber Alert was issued for Maleah on May 5th.

Community activist Quanell X previously said, while speaking on behalf of Maleah’s family, that Vence “dismembered” the 4-year-old girl.

“Many people did not know that he had dismembered this beautiful baby,” Quanell X told KHOU. “There was blood spatter evidence around the drainage area of the house. Why would human body tissue be in the drain system?”

“The Real World: Gentrifiers”: Black Twitter is NOT Impressed With Mostly White ‘Real World Atlanta’ Cast, Which Features ZERO Black Women

After a few years off the air, the groundbreaking reality series, The Real World, is back and headed to Atlanta. But after seeing the cast, not everyone is happy about it.

The revamped MTV staple will exclusively stream on Facebook Watch, beginning in June, and the first trailer just dropped.

“This is the next true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a house and have their hookups, screw-ups, apologies, honesty, voices, opinions, fights, tears, lives streamed exclusively on Facebook Watch,” the clip opens.

Staying true to its premise, seven strangers will live together for three months and controversial topics such as sexuality, race, immigration and teen parenthood will all be addressed by the housemates.

The cast includes a black Trump-supporting “proud Republican” from Texas (who also identifies as pansexual), a black activist working on his master’s in African American Studies, a conservative farmer, a religious virgin, a DACA recipient, and a liberal pansexual woman with Christian and Muslim parents.

However, with the 33rd season being filmed in Atlanta—the second largest majority black metro area in the country–many were quick to notice that the cast of seven featured no black women and only two black men.

And, naturally, Black Twitter went in.

Some users did point out that The Real World is about bringing seven people from around the country to one location, and is not intended to represent the demographics of the city in which the season is filmed.

The Real World: Atlanta premieres June 13th on Facebook Watch and full episodes will air every Thursday. Extra digital content, including scenes and Facebook Stories by the cast, will become available throughout the week.

‘Star’ Officially Cancelled After Lee Daniels Failed to Find Another Network: “I Tried My Best, Guys”

Sorry for those who were hoping Star would make a come back next season. Creator Lee Daniels says the show is officially canceled after failing to find another home for the Fox series.

“OK, so I’ve got some bad news: It ain’t happening,” Daniels said in an Instagram video to fans. “I tried my best, guys…But in a nutshell, it ain’t happening. I did my best.”

Daniels had been shopping the show to other networks in hopes it would be picked up for another season. Fox canceled the show earlier this month after three seasons due to low ratings.

And according to a TVline.com poll, fans voted Star as one of this season’s many canceled shows they wanted to be “un-canceled.”

Though Daniels was unable to work out a deal, he assures fans that the essence of Star will live on in his future projects.

“Just know that, like with Precious or with EmpireThe Butler, Monster’s Ball, the next thing I do is going to be Star,” he said. “It will exist in all of my work. I love you, all of the fans that have supported us.”

Fox renewed Daniels’ other show, Empire, for a sixth and final season.

“American Gangster” Drug Kingpin Frank Lucas Dead at 88

Former drug kingpin Frank Lucas has died at the age of 88.

Sources close to Lucas confirmed to VladTV that he passed away Thursday (May 30).

Lucas’ brother told TMZ that he was being taken to a hospital from his New Jersey home for an unknown health issue and died on the way.

Frank Lucas was best known as an American former drug trafficker who dealt heroin in Harlem during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Lucas bragged about cutting out middlemen by buying his product directly from Southeast Asia and then smuggling the drugs back to America using the coffins of dead U.S. soldiers.

His life and career as perhaps the most famous drug kingpin in U.S. history was depicted in the 2007 film “American Gangster,” in which he was portrayed by Denzel Washington.

Frank was born and raised in North Carolina during the Great Depression. He claimed that witnessing his 12-year-old cousin’s death at the hands of Ku Klux Klan members for “reckless eyeballing” (i.e. looking at) at a Caucasian woman in Greensboro, N.C. sparked his motivation to embark on a life of crime.

After moving to New York City, Frank eventually got into the drug trade, cutting into the Italian mafia’s business and making a name for himself. He bragged that his heroin was among the purest on the street and infamously called his product “Blue Magic.”

While at the top of the NYC drug trade, Frank rubbed shoulders with elites from entertainment, politics and the business world.

When Frank’s New Jersey home was raided by the DEA in 1975, agents discovered nearly $600,000 in cash. He was later convicted of federal and state drug violations and sentenced to 70 years in prison.

While incarcerated, Lucas cooperated with the police and snitched on other drug dealers, forcing him and his family to enter into a witness protection program.

After 5 years behind bars, Frank had his sentence reduced to time served plus lifetime parole, and was released in 1981. But he was busted again for dealing drugs not too long afterward, and following a 1984 conviction, he spent another seven years in prison before being released for the last time in 1991.

Frank Lucas is survived by his wife of more than 40 years, former Puerto Rican beauty queen Julianna Farrait, as well as his seven children.
