Four Students Shot During Block Party Near Clark Atlanta University

At least four college students were wounded in a shooting at a block party near the campus of Clark Atlanta University Tuesday night (Aug. 20).

ABC News reports an unidentified shooter opened fire into a crowd of 200 people attending a block party in front of the Robert W. Woodruff Library—a shared facility used by Clark Atlanta University, Spelman and Morehouse students.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found four female students, aged 17 through 19, with gunshot wounds. They were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and were listed in stable condition, according to WSBTV.

The women were identified as 18-year-old Erin Ennis, 18-year-old Maia Williams-McLaren, 18-year-old Elyse Spencer and 19-year-old Kia Thomas.

One girl was shot in the chest, another was hit in the leg, and the other two were grazed by bullets.

School officials said two of the women are Clark Atlanta students and the other two are from Spelman College.

Both schools, along with Morehouse, are a part of the Atlanta University Center, the world’s largest and oldest association of black colleges of and university.

Atlanta police said the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. after an argument between two groups at the party, and the women who were hit were not intended targets.

“It appears there were two separate groups that were targeting each other and the students in the crossfire,” Atlanta Police Capt. William Rucker said.

The gunman—who isn’t believed to be a student—hasn’t been caught, however, police are working to identify him via surveillance video.

Tee Grizzley’s Car Shot Up in Detroit, Rapper’s Manager & Aunt Killed

Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley was involved in a shooting last night that resulted in the death of his manager and aunt.

TMZ reports via law enforcement sources that a gunman opened fire on Tee Grizzley’s Cadillac Escalade Tuesday night (Aug. 20) in Detroit.

The “First Day Out” rapper’s aunt, 41-year-old Jobina Brown, who is also his manager, was sitting in the back seat and was struck.

Our sources say the SUV had stopped and Tee Grizzley was getting out of the front passenger seat as the shooter approached on foot and pulled the trigger … hitting Jobina in her left side.

The driver of the SUV told cops he heard Jobina scream right before 3 to 4 shots were fired.

Tee Grizzley reportedly stayed behind at the scene while the driver called the police and an ambulance rushed his aunt to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

It’s unclear whether Tee was the intended target, however, neither he nor the driver were hit.

The shooting happened just days after Tee Grizzley and Sada Baby released their new song “Next Up.”

Tee Grizzley and his aunt were incredibly close. He wrote about their relationship in a Facebook post back in 2017, in which he revealed that she was managing his career.

“My manager My Aunty My Big Homie if you die I can’t tell the story cause I’m dying wit u,” the rapper wrote.

Hazel-E & New Boyfriend Devon D Throw Hands With Willie Taylor & Shanda Denyce While Filming “Marriage Boot Camp,” Causing Production to Shut Down

Former Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood stars Hazel-E and Shanda Denyce are making their reality TV comebacks. And they’re already causing quite the ruckus, even causing production to completely shut down.

Hazel and her new boyfriend Devon D and Shanda and her husband Willie Taylor of Day26 are filming the upcoming season of Marriage Boot Camp.

Sources tell TMZ that Shanda confronted Hazel about the 2017 social media post in which she insulted dark skin women, compared them to monkeys, and claimed they hate on her because of her light skin.

Of course, all hell broke loose.

The two women reportedly began physically fighting. At some point, Devon and Taylor also began fighting each other. Several security guards and crew members have to intervene in order to break up the brawl.

In the aftermath, drapes were torn down, a marble table was cracked, and several chairs were destroyed.

Producers made the decision to shut down production and place the entire cast on lockdown. There was then an emergency producers-only meeting to discuss how to handle the situation.

Once everything calmed down, production resumed and both couples remain on the show…for now.

Young Thug Says He’s Far From Gay: “I’m the Straightest Man in the World … I Hate Guys!”

Young Thug might wear women’s clothing (because they fit his slim body size better, he says) … but don’t get it twisted. He is NOT into men.

Rumors about Young Thug’s sexuality have been floating around for years, but the “London” rapper wants it to be known that he is not gay. In fact, he’s VERY far from it because he hates guys, he says.

Thug sat down for an interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood today and directly the rumors, saying:

“People judge me, and people say, ‘gay,’ but n***a, at one point I probably had more hoes… it’s serious. So it’s like, if people think that I’m gay … they already misjudged. I’m the straightest man in the world. I hate guys. F**k are you talking about? I’m not even having a threesome with no n***a.“

Thug’s statement follows years of speculation surrounding the Atlanta rapper’s sexuality, and he’s done nothing to help the situation by doing things like wearing a dress on an album cover or rocking women’s purses or calling other guys bae, hubby and lover.

Granted, none of that means he’s actually sexually attracted to the same gender, which is the very definition of “homosexual,” which, again, Young Thug says he is not.

Lizzo Teases “Truth Hurts” Remix Featuring DaBaby

Lizzo and DaBaby are up to something!

2019 has been VERY good to both Lizzo and DaBaby … so it’s only right that the two artists team up for a collaboration.

Lizzo teased the collab, a remix to her hit single “Truth Hurts,” on Instagram Wednesday afternoon.

“Why u come fa me like that lmaoooooo,” she wrote along with a photo of an MP3 file titled “TRUTH HRTS FT DABABY.”

DaBaby responded on his own IG with a screenshot of Lizzo’s post, writing: “Uh-oh” with the two eyes emoji.

He also commented on Lizzo’s original post, writing: “Cuz you my boo” with a kissy face and crying laughing emoji.

While they are both rising Hip-Hop artists, Lizzo and Dababy also have two totally different styles, so it would be interesting to hear how they sound together on one song.

“Truth Hurts” was originally released in 2017, but has recently reemerged since the release of Lizzo’s highly successful third studio album Cuz I Love You, which peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

DaBaby is still riding the wave from his hit single “Suge” from his equally successful debut studio album Baby on Baby, which was released back in March and peaked at No. 7.

No word when the “Truth Hurts” remix will drop, but new singles are typically released on Fridays, so we’ll definitely be on the lookout for it!

20-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide After Being Bullied for Dating a Transgender Woman

A Philadelphia man who was bullied in a viral video for dating a transgender woman has committed suicide, his friends say.

20-year-old Maurice “Reese Him Daddie” Willoughby reportedly took his own life after battling depression and constantly defending his relationship with a transgender woman named Faith. Aazios was the first to report the story.

Willoughby—who tattooed Faith’s name on his forehead—publicly defended the relationship and praised his girlfriend in a Facebook post shortly before his death. He wrote:

“Y’all can say whatever about faith I really don’t care if she not passable I don’t care if she wasn’t born a woman she is a woman to me & I love her flaws that’s what makes her faith if you heard her story it’s motivating….. I’m happy you should be happy for me”

Earlier this year, Willoughby was bullied by a group of men. They called him names and shamed him for dating Faith. The video went viral on social media.

“That was my friend and everyone who took part in [bullying] him need to be in jail,” Amethyst Jade Lee, one of Willoughby’s friends wrote on Facebook after learning of his passing.

Friends say Willoughby was constantly bullied over the relationship which took a toll on the 20-year-old, leading to depression and adding to his history of mental health issues.

An friend who chose to be anonymous told Aazios:

“He was getting picked on and joked on all the time. Where we are from, if you like trans woman, and you black, the streets will talk about you, fight you, even try to kill you. He was dealing with a lot.”

“The black community has to stop shaming people for who they choose to love,” another friend wrote in an Instagram message sharing Willoughby’s story.

Aazios notes that studies have shown that men who are attracted to transwomen often deal with issues regarding the attraction as well as the backlash they may receive from others.

North Carolina Dad Walks Into Sheriff’s Office & Admits to Slitting 15-Year-Old Daughter’s Throat, Killing Her

A North Carolina man walked into the local sheriff’s office and confessed to slitting his teenage daughter’s throat, killing her.

Joshua Burgess entered the Union County Sheriff’s office just before 9:30 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 18) and told the dispatcher that he was there to turn himself in.

The dispatcher asked for his name and began to search for his arrest warrant. Burgess stopped her and told her that she wouldn’t find his name because “he had just killed someone.”

The 32-year-old revealed to the dispatcher that he had slit his 15-year-old daughter’s throat earlier that morning while she was visiting him for the weekend. Police rushed to the man’s home and found Zaria Burgess dead inside.

Burgess was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He’s being held without bond. He has not entered a plea and his next court appearance is scheduled for next month.

Upon further investigation, Burgess has also been charged with one count of statutory rape of a person 15 years of age or younger, first-degree statutory sex offense, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

WSOC reports that there was a “collective gasp” in the courtroom on Monday when officials detailed the horrific crime on Monday, including revealing that Burgess strangled his daughter before cutting her throat.

A motive for the murder has not been revealed, but Zaria’s family has been left devastated by the tragic loss

“She was the type of kid to come in a room come or in a house and say, ‘Hey everybody’—just wanting to make everybody smile,” her cousin Dytaysha Wadsworth, told WSCO.

“She was so young and nobody deserves to leave this world like that, especially by someone they thought was gonna protect them and be there for them,” Wadsworth continued.

“This is just a case where it’s pure evil,” Tony Underwood, chief communications officer for the UCSO told WSCO.

“The details of this murder are indescribable,” Sheriff Eddie Cathey added. “There is no logical answer to explain why this man did what he is accused of doing. Our hearts and prayers are with Zaria’s mom and her family.”

Jinx explained how all of the screaming from Nicki was off-putting to him, and before he could finish, Remy jumped in to defend Nicki confronting Joe, basically saying that she can do whatever she wants on her platform, and honestly, she should have done the same thing in that same position.

“Well, it’s her show,” Remy started. “And if I can get somebody that has been pissing me off for the last couple of years to sit there and tell them to shut the f**k up, and make sure that they are shutting the f**k up and turn their f**king mic off … and know nothing is gonna happen … I’m gonna wile on you. And I got Pap standing right there, like, what we doing? Absolutely!”

Remy went on to say that she actually understood Nicki’s position and where she was coming from.

“I got some of the things she was saying,” Remy explained. “Because I know how that feels. To feel like people that was supposed to be your friends or people you thought was cool with you, and then they say some left-field shit. You be like, damn I thought we was alright. It’s upsetting, it makes you angry. It makes you want to come for them. I know how that feels.”

Remy’s comments defending Nicki Minaj are interesting, to say the least, considering that just two years ago the two were making headlines after going back and forth on wax with “ShETHER” (Remy going at Nicki) and “No Frauds” (Nicki’s response to Remy).

So, it was very surprising to hear Remy seemingly taking her arch-nemesis’ side.

Of course that doesn’t mean that they’re friends now, but maybe one day we can witness these two making up and hopping on a track together (a la Meek Mill and Drake).

Police Transport Kenya Moore’s Ex Matt Jordan to Rehab Facility After Punching Girlfriend in the Face

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Matt Jordan has entered rehab following a recent arrest after he punched his girlfriend in the face.

A spokesperson for the Pinal County Jail in Arizona exclusively confirmed to Radar Online that Jordan was released from their custody on July 27 and transported to rehab facility Horizon Health and Wellness.

The treatment facility provides inpatient and outpatient services for domestic violence, behavioral health, psychiatric, and substance abuse.

As we previously reported, Jordan was arrested last month after punching his girlfriend Valerie Bell in the face during an altercation in a Denny’s parking lot.

According to the police report, he punched her with a “closed fist.” The victim had injuries “to the bridge of her nose, bruising, redness, and swelling.” Police also observed blood on her clothes.

A second woman witnessed the incident. She said Jordan also “snatched” a cigarette from her mouth and attempted to throw her cigarette pack on the Denny’s rooftop.

Jordan was also arrested that same night for outstanding warrants stemming from other incidents.

Jordan appeared on a few seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta while dating Kenya Moore.

The relationship was tumultuous. Moore was candid about Jordan’s violent behavior and was eventually granted a temporary restraining order against him.

Actress Who Used Billboard to Get Tyler Perry’s Attention Lands Role in One of His Shows

The actress who commanded Tyler Perry’s attention with a billboard just had her dreams come true.

Racquel Bailey just shot an episode on Perry’s upcoming BET show, Sistas. She plays a police officer who had a relationship with one of the main characters. She only appears in the season 1 finale—which Perry directed—but her character may return in season 2.

Bailey’s story went viral earlier this year after she paid $2,000 to have a billboard hoisted outside of Perry’s Atlanta studios. The billboard included her headshot and contact information.

It read: “Attention Mr. Perry, Racquel Bailey is your next leading lady.”

The billboard did catch Perry’s attention, but he wasn’t too pleased about it, especially given that he was already familiar with Bailey’s work.

“Auhhh…. soooooo…… here’s the deal. This is not the way to get my attention if you’re looking for a role in one of my shows,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I love that you want to work with me, and I love that you invest in yourself. But when you do things like this it puts my team on high alert and makes me look at you sideways,” he continued.

Though she wasn’t the first, he advised others not to copy Bailey’s stunt and reminded hopefuls that it’s free to audition.

“Tyler Perry is one of the greatest filmmakers that ever will be,” Bailey told TMZ after Perry’s initial response.

“As an actress, when he speaks, I should listen, and I would be a fool if I didn’t. But this was my leap of faith, my choice, something I felt that I needed to do to stand out.”

And she did stand out. According to TMZ, the billboard led to several casting directors reaching out to her, leading to 20 other auditions. She has landed two more acting gigs, and has a few more auditions scheduled.

Sistas is about a group of black women from different walks of life who share the common bond of being single. It’s set to premiere on BET this fall.

Black Woman Says Donald Trump’s Racist Rhetoric is Making Her White Husband Hate Her

A series of tweets from a Black woman confessing that Donald Trump’s racist rhetoric was ruining her interracial marriage went viral over the weekend.

“My white Republican husband is starting to hate me because the longer we live through this administration the ‘BLACKER’ I become,” wrote a heartbroken Mississippi woman on Twitter.

“Any interracially and opposing politically affiliated couples going through this?” she asked. “Like … I have NO idea how to balance who we are..or are becoming.”

 

Under the username Glass Butterfly, the woman went on to share the many challenges she’s going through within her marriage, thanks to Trump emboldening racism.

“I fake dreaded my hair…I wear African garb….I talk about the GOOD FIGHT,” she said. “I’m the LAST person he wants to be involved with. If this is a test…HE is failing miserably.”

The woman continued: “What’s weird…everything I do for him and our household is starting to be followed by derogatory comments towards me and I’m starting to feel like I’m sucking MASSA’S d**k so I won’t get 40 lashings. And I start to think is it the right media or has this always been who he is”

Glass Butterfly’s initial tweet (which has since been deleted) spawned thousands of retweets and hundreds of comments from a variety of people, ranging from those sympathetic to her dilemma to those who basically told her she knew what she was getting into when she married a conservative white man.

“You married a white Republican. What did you expect?” wrote one Twitter user.

Another user commented: “Excuse me sis? You’re still with him? I’m confused, where’s [your] self worth?”

Another wrote: “Okay first thought. Why did you marry a white republican? Second thought he was a racist regardless of Trump. Perhaps he just wanted to own a black wife. Crude I’m sure but something to think about.”

The various Twitter responses prompted Glass Butterfly to come back the next day and continue her thoughts.

“I didn’t realize this tweet would get this much attention…” she wrote. “Thank you all for your advice and love. It made me cry. I’m trying to come to terms with who my husband really is and it hurts, it’s hard and I’m confused.”

She continued: “The hate is REALLY REAL out here..so is the LOVE. I said my ‘White Republican Husband’ didn’t call him a MAGAT! But complicity to me is the same thing.

“Until the GOP constituents take their head out the sand and stop believing 45s lives he’s gonna continue to separate not only Children at the border…but also American families who identify as Dems and Republicans.

She concluded: “According to this tweet I’m not the only one going through having a divisive home. I don’t think my husband hates me but it’s how he makes me feel when he says certain things and because He’s not the greatest communicator…I’m left with just my feelings.

“I love him…I know he loves me and for the black delegation with all the hate spewing…shame on you and I’ll be praying goodness eventually find your heart. This world is filled with too much hate already!”

Judging by most of the Twitter reactions on Glass Butterfly’s thread, her message was received loud and clear by those in situations similar to hers.

“Thank you for this truth, sis,” wrote one fellow Black woman married to a White Republican man. “From us. For real, even the fact that you said something… wow. I want you to know I get it.

“We’re newlyweds and really are enjoying every part of each other [except] politically,” Desiree Muffin shared. “And it’s still not that bad. But there are definitely parts I think neither one of us planned on. The current culture is forcing everyone’s hand.”

“Thank you sis!!” Glass Butterfly replied. “All relationships are hard…takes work. This is just one arena where it takes a lil overtime. Blessings to you and your union.”

Eva Marcille Legally Changes Daughter’s Last Name to Sterling, Severing Last Connection to Biological Father Kevin McCall

Eva Marcille’s family just made a major change and its all in an effort to completely leave her ex-boyfriend in her past.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star married Georgia lawyer Michael Sterling last year. The couple shares a son and Marcille is currently pregnant with their second child.

However, Marcille also has a 5-year-old daughter, Marley Rae, from a previous relationship with musician Kevin McCall.

During her segment on The Ricky Smiley Show, Marcille just announced that she has legally changed Marley’s last name to Sterling.

“Long story short, we all have the name Sterling, and Marley is the only one with her biological father’s name and I saw it necessary and Mike saw it necessary to change her name,” she explained.

“[As of] yesterday I can say that thank you for the honorable Judge Manning here in Fulton County court granted me a name change for Marley. She is now officially and legally Marley Rae Sterling.”

She explained the judge ordered the name change to be applied to Marley’s birth certificate, social security card, health records, and all other vital records.

The legal name change announcement comes just one day after McCall shared a post about co-parenting that also included a throwback photo of himself and Marcille.

Marcille and McCall have had a tumultuous relationship and have struggled to co-parent. She has often referred to McCall as a “sperm donor” and states that Sterling is Marley’s dad.

Back in 2017, McCall basically disowned Marley after Marcille posted photos of Sterling and the little girl. McCall deleted all photos of Marley from his Instagram and wrote in an IG story:

“Out of sight out of mind. Erased from my memory. Go play games with another person it’s not working anymore she’s yours. Forever and you can keep her.”

Marcille has stated that she keeps Marley away from her father because of his abusive behavior, even revealing during an RHOA episode that she often has to move in order to protect her family from McCall finding them.

Steph Curry Makes 7-Figure Donation to Howard University to Bring Back Golf Program

Basketball phenom Steph Curry has pledged a 7-figure donation to help fund a new golf program at University that will roll out over the next six years.

Via CBS Sports:

At a press conference on Monday in Washington, D.C., Curry pledged to make a donation that is reportedly in the seven figures to help support the university’s quest to bring back the sport, which had been absent for 40 years.

Not only will it help get the sport off the ground after its dormancy, but it comes at a time when Howard is positioned to jump to Division I in golf—the first Division I program at the school.

“Golf is a sport that has changed my life in ways that are less tangible, but just as impactful,” Curry said about the imminent donation in a press release.

“It’s a discipline that challenges your mental wherewithal from patience to focus, and is impossible to truly master, so when you hear about these passionate student athletes who have the talent but don’t have a fair shot at the game, it’s tough. I feel really honored to play a small role in the rich history of Howard University.”

Curry, a six-time All-Star and two-time MVP winner, plays for the Warriors on the west coast. In college, he starred at Davidson in Davidson, North Carolina.

So what’s the connection between him and a small college in D.C., you ask? Well, Curry met a Howard student named Otis Ferguson while he was viewing a documentary in January about the 2015 shooting of nine black worshippers in a South Carolina-based church.

Ferguson brought up how he had to pass up golf to attend Howard—which, at the time, did not have a golf program. Curry sparked an idea from there to resurrect the program.

“The idea around re-creating Howard’s golf team and turning it into a Division I program for men and women was born on that specific night,” Curry said. “Now, seven and a half or eight months later, we’re here.”

While Curry is best-known for his performances on the hardwood, he’s no slouch on the course, either. He played on his high school golf team and has made numerous appearances as an amateur and celebrity golfer in various tournaments over the last decade.

Because Howard is starting from scratch, it will take time to hire coaches, recruit players and relaunch the program. The university is targeting its official foray back into the sport for the 2020-21 academic year.

Jamie Foxx & Katie Holmes Break Up After He’s Spotted Partying With Singer Sela Vave

After pictures emerged showing the Oscar winner partying in Los Angeles on Friday night with much-younger singer Sela Vave, news outlets speculated that Foxx, 51, was cheating on Holmes, 40.

But a spy at La Esquina overheard the actress — who was having dinner with girlfriends at the Kenmore Street restaurant — tell a pal, “What Jamie does is his business — we haven’t been together for months.”

When we called another Holmes pal to check it out, they confirmed that the pair split in late May, a few weeks after their much-heralded first red-carpet appearance at the Met Gala.

They’d been together since 2013 — about a year after Holmes divorced Tom Cruise. The pair were highly secretive about their early trysts, meeting up late at night at hotels and sneaking out back entrances to avoid tattletales.

After that, the relationship became Hollywood’s worst-kept secret for many years.

They finally appeared together in public for the first time at Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammys Gala in New York in 2018, and they walked a red carpet together for the first time at the Met Ball this May.

As for Jamie’s new “friend,” apparently they’ve been hanging out since at least June, judging by the numerous pics and videos she’s posted with him on Instagram.

Texas Mom Faces 20 Years in Prison for Faking Son’s Illnesses & Making Him Have 13 Unneeded Surgeries

A Texas mom is facing up to 20 years in prison after she admitted to medically abusing her son over a several-year period.

Authorities said 35-year-old Kaylene Bowen put her healthy son through a number of unneeded and painful medical tests and procedures over the boy’s lifetime.

According to prosecutors, Bowen started taking her son, Christopher, to the doctor when he was just 11 days old even though nothing was wrong with him.

By the time the boy was 8 years old, he had undergone 13 major surgeries, had been doctors offices and hospitals more than 320 times, and was forced to by his mother to be confined to a wheelchair. Mind you, most of this happened between the years of 2009 and 2016.

Bowen also launched several fundraisers claiming her son was dying from a rare genetic disorder and later changed her story to him having cancer.

Additionally, officials said Kaylene had Christopher fitted with a feeding tube in his small intestines that led to multiple life-threatening blood infections. They said she also tried to get her son on a lung transplant list and had him placed in hospice care at one point.

Authorities said Bowen committed crimes that fit the description of a disorder called “Munchausen syndrome by proxy,” where caregivers (usually mothers) lie, exaggerate or create medical symptoms in a child in order to gain attention.

In turn, doctors, who depend on parent’s description of what’s going on with their children, end up performing unnecessary and often painful tests, procedures and surgeries.

For years, Christopher’s dad, Ryan Crawford, tried to convince Dallas family court judges that his son wasn’t sick, but they believed Bowen and punished Crawford by not allowing him to see his own son, who was three years old at the time.

Christopher was finally removed from Bowen’s care in 2017 after Dallas hospital workers reported to Child Protective Services that the boy didn’t have cancer or many of the other systems his mother insisted he had.

On Thursday (Aug. 15) in a Dallas courtroom, Kaylene Bowen pleaded guilty to recklessly causing injury to her child. Her sentencing is scheduled for October.

Ryan Crawford said his son is now a happy and healthy 10-year-old boy who only needs to go to the doctor for annual check-ups. Christopher is also doing well academically and is very athletic, Crawford said.

Crawford now has sole custody of Christopher, while Bowen is allowed supervised visits.

“I am happy that she decided to do the right thing. Eventually, the lies had to stop,” Crawford told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Friday following Bowen’s guilty plea.

“Now hopefully those who thought a mother could never do this to their child will see evil does exist.”

Crawford said he’s working to bring more attention to cases like this.

“Medical abuse is under-reported every day,” he said. “Now it’s time to move forward and make sure no child has to suffer the abuse my son endured.”

50 Cent Tried to Ban Wendy Williams From His Party, But She Got in Anyway & Took a Pic With Snoop Dogg

An unplanned meeting of foes was quickly foiled last night after Wendy Williams was reportedly denied entry into 50 Cent’s party.

Williams and her 19-year-old son popped up at Fifty’s Tycoon party at BarCode in New Jersey on Sunday night (Aug. 18).

However, in video footage a bystander a captured the daytime host loitering outside of the venue and claims Williams was not allowed in the party.

50 Cent, of course, shared the video on Instagram. He wrote:

“You can’t just show up to my PARTY if you been talking about me. B*TCH wait out side.”

While it does seem 50 placed Williams on a blacklist for the event, she was able to briefly get inside and take a picture with Snoop Dogg, who also headlined the party.

Sources tell TMZ that Williams’ only reason for showing up at the party was to introduce her son to Snoop. The mother/son pair was celebrating his 19th birthday and he also happens to be a huge snoop fan.

Williams—a New Jersey native—used her connections with the local police and was escorted directly to Snoop’s VIP section. She was only at the party for about 20 minutes.

In addition to 50 and Snoop, the Tycoon party was also headlined by Jacquees, Fabolous, and Trey Songz.

The beef between Williams and Fifty dates backs years. The host is often critical of the rapper and makes shady comments about him on her show and, in return, he fires back with his own shade on social media or in interviews.

Chick-fil-A and Popeyes Are Beefing on Twitter Over Who Has the Best Chicken Sandwich

Chick-fil-A and Popeyes traded quick jabs on social media Monday (Aug. 19) over who has the best chicken sandwich.

Of course, Chick-fil-A says they invented the chicken sandwich, but Popeyes recently added a chicken sandwich to its menu, which has been met with some pretty favorable reviews.

Damon Young from The Root’s Very Smart Brothas said: “Popeyes has the best fast food fried chicken sandwich and it ain’t even close.”

Kevin Pang of The Takeout opined: “The rumors are true: Popeyes’ fried chicken sandwich is better than Chick-fil-A’s.”

Business Insider‘s Irene Jiang wrote: “Popeyes’ new chicken sandwich convinced us that we never need to go back to Chick-fil-A.”

People on Twitter also have been raving about Popeyes’ new sandwich:

So, as you can imagine, Chick-fil-A ain’t too happy about all the newfound Popeyes chicken sandwich hype, and has apparently responded via social media.

“Bun + Chicken + Pickles = all the [heart emoji] for the original,” Chick-fil-A tweeted.

Many took the message as a subtweet about Popeyes, considering the fact that everyone has been comparing chicken sandwiches from both restaurants all month.

Not long after Chick-fil-A’s tweet, Popeyes fired back with a quote-tweet saying: “… y’all good?”

Looks like the year’s biggest beef is going to end up being between two chicken restaurants. Go figure.

90-Year-Old South Carolina Man Charged With Murder After Shooting & Killing 83-Year-Old Wife

A 90-year-old man in South Carolina has been charged with murder after he shot and killed his 83-year-old wife over the weekend.

According to police, Edwin Nelson Jr. gunned down his wife, Sarah Nelson, around 5:20 a.m. inside their home on Highway 61 in Ridgeville, South Carolina.

Authorities arrived at the home in Dorchester County after receiving a 911 call from Nelson saying that he shot his wife.

Police said they found Sarah Nelson dead on the floor with a gunshot wound to the chest and her husband alive, lying beside her, WCBD reported. Deputies also recovered a .38-caliber revolver on the scene.

Edwin Nelson was arrested and taken to jail, where he was charged with murder and is being held without bond. His wife’s body was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for an autopsy.

Officials didn’t reveal a motive for the shooting, but a neighbor and longtime friend of the Nelsons said the pair seemed like a normal couple who enjoyed each other’s company.

“Knowing how he loved her, they were always walking hand in hand,” Bunny Igoe said. “I think the medication that they [gave him] changed him, or something had altered his mind in order for him to come to this.”

R. Kelly Wants to Hire Michael Jackson’s Lawyer to Fight Sex Abuse Allegations, But His Bank Account Won’t Let Him

R. Kelly is reportedly seeking the services of Michael Jackson’s former lawyer to help him beat his own sex crimes cases. The only problem is that the disgraced singer can’t afford it because he’s broke.

According to TMZ, Kelly recently had a meeting with Tom Mesereau—one of the most in-demand criminal attorneys in the business who is best known for successfully defending Michael Jackson during his child molestation trial in 2005. Mesereau was also responsible for getting Robert Blake acquitted on charges he murdered his ex-wife.

TMZ reported that Kelly’s meeting with Mesereau lasted about four hours, and Kelly expressed deep interest in hiring the high-powered attorney.

However, Kelly’s finances are in such a dire condition that he’s having trouble coming up with the funds to pay Mesereau … thanks to a number of issues, including him having to shell out a six-figure child support settlement to his ex-wife Andrea Kelly (which someone reportedly paid for him) just to get out of jail back in March, and let’s not forget that he had to rely on a donation from a “friend” to afford his $100K bond after his arrest in February.

On top of that, he’s still on the hook for $21,000 a month in child support and he’s not currently not making any money.

As for why Kelly wants to get rid of his current legal team, including attorney Steve Greenberg, TMZ’s sources say the singer believes they’re more worried about getting media attention than getting him off on these charges.

For his part, Greenberg calls the rumors that he’s being replaced “a complete load of crap.”

Whoever helps Kelly fight his multiple sex crime cases moving forward will have their work cut out for them though.

Kelly is currently incarcerated in New York under a federal charge for sex trafficking, and in Illinois, he faces sex trafficking, sexual assault and sexual abuse charges, as well as two counts of underage prostitution in Minnesota.

Former NFL Player Cedric Benson Dies at 36 in Motorcycle Crash

Former NFL player Cedric Benson, who rose to fame as a Texas Longhorn legend, died in a tragic motorcycle accident Saturday night (Aug. 17) in Austin, Texas. He was 36 years old.

Austin police said a minivan was trying to cross an intersection when it collided with Benson’s motorcycle.

Both Benson and a woman riding on the motorcycle with him were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened on Mount Bonnell Road in West Austin just after 10 p.m. Saturday, according to the Austin American-Statesmen.

Police on the scene said one of the vehicles caught on fire after the crash and was put out quickly.

Police said poor visibility and speed were significant factors in the crash.

“Unfortunately this area has really poor visibility so if you aren’t really careful or you are going slightly over the speed limit, it is very difficult to stop,” Austin police Sgt. Eric Wilson told the newspaper.

Wilson said two people in the van weren’t seriously injured. “Just more shocked,” he said.

Hours before the crash, Benson posted a photo of a BMW motorcycle to his Instagram stories, writing: “My Saturday evening” with a heart emoji.

Benson holds the record for second-most rushing yards in Texas Longhorns history with 5,540 yards over four seasons, and his 64 rushing touchdowns are also the second-most rushing touchdowns in the history of the program.

Back in 2004, when Benson was a senior at the University of Texas, he won the Doak Walker Award as the top running back in college football and ended up becoming the No. 4 pick by Chicago Bears in 2005 NFL Draft.

Benson joined the Cincinnati Bengals in 2008, and played with them until 2011. He played with the Green Bay Packers in 2012.

Over his eight-year NFL career, he rushed more than 1,000 yards once with all three of the teams he played for, finishing with 6,017 career rushing yards and 32 touchdowns.

“Our condolences to the friends and family of former Bears running back Cedric Benson, our 4th overall Draft pick in 2005 and member of the 2006 NFC Champions team,” the Chicago Bears tweeted Sunday.

“Cedric was a fine football player for us,” Cincinnati Bengals President Mike Brown said. “Our organization is deeply saddened by his sudden and tragic passing. The Bengals extend our deepest condolences to Cedric’s family.”
