Lena Waithe on Accusations She Stole Concept of New Show: “I Would Never Steal Another Artist’s Work”

Lena Waithe is finally addressing an accusation that she stole the idea of her upcoming show from a rising screenwriter.

“I have never seen Nina Lee’s work nor would I ever steal another artist’s work,” Waithe stated emphatically in a statement she released on Wednesday (Feb. 26).

In a series of tweets (with compelling support), up and coming screenwriter, Nina Lee claimed that Waithe’s new show Girls Room is actually a rip-off of her shelved 2017 project, The Girls Room.

Lee found much support from Twitter, prompting Waithe to eventually respond to the heavy backlash she was receiving and address Lee’s claim.

Waithe says that she had no prior knowledge of Lee’s work when partnering with Dove in 2019 and joining their project which the company started working on in 2017.

She claims Dove already had a title and concept, and only brought her onboard to write scripts and help produce the show.

“As a fellow creative myself, I can only imagine how [Lee] must be feeling and I look to #Dove to give us more clarity on the situation,” Waithe wrote.

Following a personal phone call with Waithe and the Girls Room director, Lee also gave an update on the situation via Twitter on Thursday (Feb. 27).

“I spoke to Lena Waithe this morning and she and the director both assured me they would never steal, copy, or mimic another Black woman’s work. They also told me about supportive they are of Black women in film,” she wrote.

However, Lee was sure to highlight the crux of the entire issue.

“Black artists have historically struggled with having our work taken from us against our will and without permission. Therefore, I am not surprised to see what feels like a commodified version of my art being co-opted by a major corporation.”

As for Dove, the company released a statement defending the originality of their show despite striking similarities between their show and Lee’s project that include title, concept, and even aesthetic.

“Dove started working on Girls Room with our partners in early 2017, and we’re proud to have teamed up with ATTN: and Lena Waithe to bring the vision to life. The name of the series was developed before Lena or ATTN: were added to the project and was selected because our scenes mainly take place in the ‘Girls Room,’ any similarity to other creative projects is entirely unintentional.”

Dove/Waithe’s Girls Room is expected to be released later this year.

Love & Hip-Hop’s Sierra Gates Facing Up to 5 Years in Prison for Allegedly Assaulting Pregnant Woman

A 2017 incident with a pregnant woman may lead Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta‘s Sierra Gates to jail.

According to court documents obtained by Bossip, Sierra has been charged with two counts of battery and one count of battery against a pregnant woman.

The documents do not name the alleged victim, nor do they state how or if she or the unborn baby was harmed. However, the incident is described as a crime of “high and aggravated nature.”

If convicted, Sierra could face up to 5 years in prison from the battery charge alone.

The incident occurred in 2017, but Sierra wasn’t charged until the summer of 2019.

She was scheduled for a final plea hearing in December 2019. However, it was canceled after her lawyer, Adamma McKimmon, argued that the state had not turned over evidence so that she could build a defense for her client.

Sierra may have alluded to the case in a recent 30-second teaser for the upcoming season of LHHATL.

“I might be going to jail,” Sierra cries.

Love & Hip-Hop cameras had requested to film the court proceedings, but the shoot was canceled when the hearing did not take place

We last reported on Sierra and lawyer McKimmon just last month after Sierra’s daughter was attacked by a student and her mom in her high school’s bathroom. McKimmon is advising her client in that case as well.

Sierra’s daughter has now been enrolled in a private school.

After Little Women: Atlanta completed its lackluster fifth season last summer, it was unknown if the show would even return. But we now have video proof that these little women are still bringing big drama.

TMZ has released a video of several members of the cast in a bar brawl, complete with hands and drinks being thrown.

According to sources, Ms. Juicy held a launch party for her new eyewear line at Nouveau Bar & Grill when chaos broke out between a few of the other women.

Twins Amanda and Andrea Salinas got into an argument with Abira, and things got physical after Abira threw a drink at them. Punches were thrown and Ms. Juicy even got caught in the middle of the melee.

Security as well as the Salinas’ twins’ respective (average size) significant others had to intervene in an attempt to calm the situation.

TMZ does not report what caused the bar brawl, but viewers can recall that The Twins and Abira have had a turbulent relationship since Abira joined the show a few seasons ago.

Little Women: Atlanta has become one of the more popular incarnations of the Little Women franchise.

However, the most recent season received criticism after producers revamped the show and shifted its focus from messy life drama to documenting the supposed rap/music management aspirations several of the cast members were trying to fulfill, à la Love & Hip-Hop.

The revamp resulted in a contrived and underwhelming season, leaving many to wonder if the reality series had reached its end.

There still hasn’t been any info released regarding a new season. But cameras were on site to capture the group’s latest event (and fight), which means new content is at least being shot.

Fifth Grade Student Airlifted to Hospital & Receives 6 Stitches After Teacher Physically Assaults Him Over Juice Box

An 11-year-old elementary student had to be airlifted to a hospital and received six stitches following an incident with a teacher.

Last week, Kamauri Williamson, a fifth-grader at Post Elementary School in Houston, Texas, was left waiting at school with a large gash just above his eyebrow until his mother arrived.

Kiana Randolph rushed to the school after receiving a phone call saying that her son had been injured. But she was shocked to find her son with a wound so serious that he was airlifted to a nearby hospital and treated with multiple stitches.

Randolph was even more shocked when she saw footage of the incident that caused the large wound Williamson suffered.

According to surveillance footage, Williamson was injured after a teacher confronted him about a juice box during lunch.

The footage shows the male teacher grabbing the 11-year-old by the hood of his sweatshirt and slamming his head against a counter.

“You see him at one point, my son’s feet lift up off the ground and he is basically being choked,” Randolph told ABC affiliate, KTRK.

“They’re supposed to be in a safe place while you’re at work, and to get this type of reaction of a head being busted open, especially over a juice box,” she continued.

“Nobody deserves this, especially my son. I would never had thought that would have happened to my kid.”

The teacher involved in the incident has been placed on administrative leave and the school district has launched an investigation into the matter. He has not been named, nor charged with a crime.

Randolph strongly feels more consequences are needed than administrative leave.

“[That teacher] needs to not be able to work with children again. Just, not at all,” she said.

“That was just very, very upsetting to watch as a mother. It is very hurtful. No one’s child should be treated like that in any manner.”

Randolph has obtained legal counsel the family’s lawyer is hoping for the teacher to be prosecuted for his actions.

“I have a lot of trust in the justice system, so I hope this guy is going to be prosecuted for doing something he shouldn’t have,” said Adam Ramji, the family’s attorney.

“More so, other teachers need to be aware that if you’re around children, there are certain ways to manage it and definitely certain ways not to manage it.”

Williamson has returned to school while the teacher remains on leave.

Lena Waithe Accused of Stealing TV Show Concept from Rising Screenwriter

The trailer to Lena Waithe’s new show, Girls Room, was just released. But a rising filmmaker was more than shocked when she watched it and Waithe is now facing accusations that she stole the project.

According to Deadline, Waithe’s Girls Room is an anthology series that “will explore the pain and power of female adolescence as told through the eyes of an inter-connected group of girls.”

The project was greenlit in May 2019 through the Emmy winner’s production company. It’s one of the first scripted projects for media company ATTN: and it’s also partnering with Dove’s self-esteem campaign for young girls.

While the show sounds well-intentioned and poised to make a positive impact, it’s now being surrounded by controversy after screenwriter Nina Lee accused Waithe of stealing her idea.

After viewing the trailer, Lee was not impressed and believes Waithe’s show is a rip-off of her 2017 project, The Girls Room.

“This looks awful,” she tweeted.

In a follow-up tweet, Lee included the poster art for her project The Girls Room which looks very similar to Waithe’s show.

“Even the way her show is colored is oddly similar, I have to laugh,” she added in another tweet.

Lee eventually explains that her 2017 project was shelved after losing most of their footage on the last day of shooting. She tried to crowdfund and hoped others within the industry would offer help, but the efforts were unsuccessful.

Many on Twitter sympathized with Lee and dragged Waithe for stealing another black woman’s art.

Some even criticized her for naming the Girls Room characters after the Little Rock Nine, the group of black teenagers who integrated Little Rock Central High School in 1957.

Waithe has not responded to Lee’s accusations.

Lee has received much support and even job opportunities since sharing her story on Twitter.

High School Basketball Announcer Under Fire After Describing Black Players’ Names as “Disgusting”

A veteran high school sports announcer is Oklahoma is facing backlash after making a racist comment while introducing players of a basketball team.

The Crooked Oak High School girls’ basketball team was shocked as they took the court for their game against Newkirk High School on Friday (Feb. 21) due to the announcer’s insensitive comment about some of the black players’ names.

“The Crooked Oak Lady Ruff Necks, now their names are pretty disgusting.“

He was replaced during the game’s halftime break.

The comment, which many perceived as racist, was caught on video and shared on Facebook where it went viral.

A few of the Crooked Oak players and parents shared their reactions to the incident with local news station KFOR.

“We all looked at each other like, did he just say, is that real? Like did he really just say that?” Iyana Freeman said.

“I was just trying to make sure my teammates were okay. Because I knew, I could tell they were affected by how that was said,” Freeman continued.

KFOR reports that several members were unable to really process what had just at the time, while others were left feeling uncomfortable and unsafe.

“I was actually kind of scared on the court. I was like watching every move that I did,” revealed Jaiana Wiggins.

A friend of the announcer wrote in an email to KFOR that the announcer had intended to say “difficult,” instead of “disgusting,” stating that their friend simply “mixed up his words.

However, in a statement by the superintendent for Newkirk Public schools, the announcer is described as the “district’s long-time announcer” who has “around 20 years” of experience announcing Newkirk games.

It’s a safe bet the veteran announcer has pronounced his share of “difficult” names throughout the years.

With that in mind, Crooked Oak parent Tremekkia White is not buying the “mixed up his words” excuse.

“He never paused. He never said, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, I meant difficult, my apologies ladies,'” she said.

The statement by the Newkirk School’s superintendent reads in part:

To the Newkirk and Crooked Oak communities at large, I would like to say that this unfortunate comment does not represent the Newkirk Public Schools or its beliefs. We sincerely apologize for any pain or affront our announcer’s comment has caused Crooked Oak players, parents, patrons, and school employees.

Tremekkia White, however, doesn’t think the explanation and apology wasn’t enough.

“The girls should have been given a public apology, the same way they were demeaned publicly,” she said.

Another Crooked Oak parent, Lorna Pollard agreed, because the basketball team was never given an update of the situation during Friday’s game.

“They never relayed that to the girls. The girls didn’t hear anything from the school system on either side,” she said.

The name of the announcer has not been revealed, nor have any disciplinary actions been reported.

Boosie Tells Son’s Friend He’s Going to Teach Him How to Eat P***y Because His Lips Are “Nice & Fluffy” (VIDEO)

Just last week, Boosie was admonishing Dwyane Wade for accepting his own child’s gender identity, and now, he’s making some highly questionable comments about his son’s friend’s facial features, saying that his lips are perfect for performing oral sex on a woman because they are “nice and fluffy.”

During a recent Instagram Live session, Boosie can be heard telling his teenage son, off-camera: “I’m gonna teach your friend how to eat p***y. You gotta give him about eight more months, mayne. I’ma teach him. About nine more months, mayne. Wait ’til he get in the 11th grade or something, dawg. For real, mayne. He don’t need to be munching yet, mayne. For real … that boy got a nice set of lips on his sh*t too.”

Boosie then turned to his son’s friend, who could not also be seen on camera: “Boy you gotta nice pair on you, boy!” in a tone reminiscent of a white slave master talking to a black mandingo.

He added: “Them bitches curl up and everythang! You got a nice pair of lips for a teenager! Them bitches nice! Them bitches nice and fluffy! All you gotta do is put them bitches on the p***y!”

As you can imagine, the Twitter responses are exactly what they should be. Disgust, shock, outrage, etc. with some reminding folks that this isn’t the first time Boosie (or “Bussy,” his new Twitter nickname) has proudly displayed homosexual tendencies.

Remember that time he said this time last year, in regards to the Jussie Smollett debacle: “d**k make you do some crazy shit?”

Then there was that one time he told that vivid story of walking in on two men having sex while he was in prison.

So, in this instance, his infatuation with a young male’s lips should definitely be questioned, but he’s Boosie and is apparently uncheckable on a much grander scale (besides Planet Fitness of course).

3-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted by 34-Year-Old Man in McDonald’s Bathroom While Her Dad Was in the Next Stall

Accused of one of the most horrifying and repulsive crimes, a Chicago man has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl in a McDonald’s bathroom stall right next to the girl’s father.

Christopher Puente, 34, was charged with one count of felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 on Wednesday (Feb 19).

According to prosecutors, on Monday (Feb. 17), Puente lured the 3-year-old into a bathroom stall and placed her on his lap. He then pulled down her pants and underwear and touched her inappropriately.

Puente even admitted to detectives that his penis “touched the victim’s vagina because her vagina was right there, but it didn’t go in.”

And when the little girl began to whimper and say “Daddy, Daddy,” who was in the next stall, Puente covered her mouth with his hand.

The girl was saved by her father after he heard her cries. He was unable to unlock the stall door and looked under and above the stall. The father pulled her by legs from underneath the door and immediately returned her to her mother who was in the dining area.

When the father returned to the bathroom, Puente was no longer there.

The 3-year-old had accompanied her father to the bathroom after her brother had an accident. Her father and brother were in a stall, while she waited. Puente was then able to lure the unattended toddler.

Puente fled the McDonald’s before being apprehended, but police released surveillance images of him leaving the bathroom.

Puente was arrested two days later for trespassing when he refused to leave a business location. While in custody, police realized he was the suspect from the McDonald’s surveillance footage. He was even wearing the same clothes.

Puente has confessed to assaulting the child and says he knew it was wrong. He also admits to being high during the incident.

“The Defendant said that he was f****d up and thinking dirty,” prosecutors said. “He said he was paranoid and looking around as he left the bathroom because he knew what he did was wrong.”

Court documents show Puente has a criminal record dating back to 2006 which includes domestic battery, burglary, and forgery.

Puente is scheduled to appear in court for the sexual assault on March 10th. He is being held without bail.

Boosie Badazz Banned From Planet Fitness Over Transphobic Comments About Dwyane Wade’s 12-Year-Old & Homophobic Past

Boosie Badazz is starting to face the consequences of spewing hate, making transphobic statements, and just being an overall trash person.

The rapper claims he was denied entry into a Georgia Planet Fitness gym due to his recent deplorable transphobic comments about Dwyane Wade’s 12-year-old transgender daughter, Zaya.

“Do not go to Planet Fitness. They racist. They haters,” Boosie said in a video rant he recorded in his car and posted on Instagram on Thursday (Feb. 20).

“They just put me out Planet Fitness because of what I said about Dwyane Wade’s son. And they said I said in a video one of they employees was f*****s or some sh*t.

“They championing for Dwyane Wade’s son, so don’t go to Planet Fitness no more. Nobody go to Planet Fitness — they got roaches in that bitch!”

Listing the gym’s actual address in his caption, Boosie went on to claim that the gym’s manager was gay and in his feelings.

“Manager who was gay refused to let me in Planet Fitness because of my past actions on social media about gender etc,” he wrote. “Get out ya feelings lil bitch,” he continued.

Boosie has a history of making extremely homophobic and transphobic statements. But for someone who claims to be so utterly disgusted by all things LGBTQ, he definitely spends a lot of time thinking about it in order to formulate his ignorant thoughts and opinions on the matter.

His son also shares the same transphobic views. In a post defending his dad, he repeatedly misgendered Zaya Wade and inappropriately said that he knows a “chick that will do sum thangs” to the 12-year-old “that will make that boy back str8.”

Again, this is just another example of someone being loud and wrong on a subject they know absolutely nothing about.

The father/son pair (and others who share their ignorant views) can’t even show that child enough respect to properly gender her or call her by her new name.

Instead, they have chosen to attack the child and spew hate simply because they don’t have the capacity to grasp the complexities of gender identity and self-awareness like she does at just 12.

Planet Fitness has released a statement regarding the incident with Boosie, stating that he was harassing staff and citing their policies against harassment and discrimination.

“Planet Fitness does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind. In this instance, a guest was asked to leave after refusing to comply with gym policies and harassing club staff. We are the home of the Judgement Free Zone and as such, we have policies in place to ensure that we maintain a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for all of our members where everyone feels accepted.”

Police Believe Pop Smoke Murder Was a Targeted Hit, Not a Robbery As Initially Reported

The murder of up and coming rapper Pop Smoke may not have been a robbery gone wrong as initially believed, but in fact, a targeted hit.

According to TMZ, police now believe the 20-year-old rapper was intentionally murdered in his Hollywood Hills, California Airbnb on Wednesday (Feb. 19) morning.

Police began to believe the murder was a targeted hit after reviewing surveillance footage from the rented home.

The footage shows four men entering the home around 4:30 am and exiting with no stolen items.

TMZ reports:

People who have seen the surveillance footage from outside the Hollywood Hills home where Pop was killed Wednesday morning tell us … you see 4 men approach the home at around 4:30 AM and sneak around back.

A couple minutes pass before 3 of the 4 walk back up the side of the home to the front. The 4th apparently walked in the backdoor but no camera was trained on it. The next time you see the man, he exits through the front door of the house.

…But, here’s the thing. The folks who have seen the surveillance video tell us the person inside the house — presumably the shooter — did not carry anything out. Given that he shot someone, it’s doubtful he would take the time to stuff items in his pocket.

Multiple shots were fired in the home and they only hit Pop Smoke. The rapper was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

It was initially reported that the shooting was the result of an attempted robbery after two men wearing hoodies and ski masks entered the home.

Adding to the initial robbery angle, earlier in the day, Pop Smoke had posted a photo of several gifts with his address on them. He had also posted a photo of himself and his friend holding a large amount of cash.

Police also say the rapper had thrown a party at the home one day before the shooting.

The investigation into the murder is ongoing. Police have not named or arrested any suspects.

Pop Smoke, known for his hit single “Welcome to the Party,” was a rising rapper whose mixtape Meet the Woo, V.2 debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 this week.

Raven-Symone Addresses Rumors That She’s Transgender After Instagram Post Sparks Speculation

Raven-Symone wants everyone to know that she is NOT transgender, nor is she transitioning to become male.

Speculation that the actress was transgender began last week for the most asinine reason: She posted photos wearing baggy clothes.

And for those of you struggling to keep up, that’s not how it works.

Raven shared photos over herself wearing an oversized sweatshirt and sweatpants on Instagram. And known for her eccentric hairstyles, her hair happened to braided in cornrows in the photos.

There must have been several comments perpetuating the rumor, because Raven actually addressed them in a now-deleted post.

“Wow since people think I’m turning into a man because I’m braided up for my wig, and was feelin myself for a min, guess I gotta show off just the shoes and a sneak of the fit. They obviously can’t handle me on an everyday.”

Again, Raven deleted the post addressing the wild rumor, but the post that started it all remains on her account.

The Disney star first addressed her sexual orientation in 2013 when she said she identifies as a lesbian. She was in a public relationship with female model AzMarie Livingston for several years.

The rumors and interest surrounding Raven may have been a ripple effect caused by Dwyane Wade sharing that his 12-year-old daughter Zaya is transgender just days prior to Raven’s otherwise innocuous post.

Former Texas Pastor Murdered Wife & 11-Year-Old Son, Tried to Strangle Adult Daughter Before Killing Himself

A small community outside of Houston, Texas is reeling following a tragic double murder-suicide committed by a former pastor and non-profit founder and CEO.

On Tuesday, February 11th, the 53-year-old Sugar Land, TX resident, Richard Logan, was found dead 160 miles away from his hometown outside of an environmental consulting company.

Authorities were notified of the presence of the dead body, and upon arrival, they discovered the deceased Logan along with the gun he used to kill himself.

After discovering the body, San Marcos police reached out to officers in Sugar Land to perform a welfare check at Logan’s house. When no one responded to their requests for entry, the officers forced their way into the home.

It was there that they found the dead bodies of Logan’s wife, 48-year-old Diana Logan, as well as their 11-year-old son, Aaron. Both died of gunshot wounds from the same gun Richard Logan used to take his own life.

The deceased are survived by the couple’s daughter, Ambrielle, who is currently in her final year at Texas State University in San Marcos.

In a statement released by the Sugar Land Police Department, it was later revealed that after shooting his wife and son, Logan traveled to San Marcos where he assaulted his adult daughter by choking her out.

It is unknown why he ended the attack, but it was shortly after that he took his own life.

Authorities confirmed that Logan murdered his wife and son sometime over the weekend of February 8th-9th. The family’s pastor at River Pointe Church said he last saw them alive on Saturday around 5 p.m.

Officials believe Logan tried strangling Ambrielle Monday evening (Feb. 10), and then sometime between that night and Tuesday morning around 8 a.m. is when he fatally shot himself.

The news has shocked anyone familiar with Logan and his family.

Logan is still listed as the Founder, President & CEO on Attack Poverty’s website, a non-profit he created to develop under-resourced communities.

The site also has the company’s official statement following the tragedy:

“The Attack Poverty family is in shock to learn of the tragedy involving our Chief Executive Officer, Richard Logan and his family. We are cooperating with investigators and waiting for more information as we try to process this loss with our staff, volunteers, and community.”

Many mirror the company’s reaction. A fellow area pastor, Patrick Kelley, was a friend of the family for 15 years.

“We knew the Logans very, very well,” Kelley told KHOU. “I stand here in shock with everyone else who knew these precious people. I think the healing part and the direction we’ll give is to be together and voice your grief, because we have a shared grief in this case.”

Diana Logan was the sister of a WHO-TV news anchor, Dan Winters, who also expressed his sadness and shock via a Facebook post.

As of now, there is no clear indication of what caused Logan to take these actions, but police officers are continuing their ongoing investigation into the matter.

Model Slick Woods Suffers Another Severe Seizure That Left Her Face Swollen As She Battles Cancer

Model Slick Woods is still struggling with health complications stemming from her cancer diagnosis.

In an Instagram post of Tuesday (Feb. 18), Woods shared with her fans that she had suffered yet another seizure.

The seizure must have been severe because it left the model with a bruised and swollen face and swollen lips.

“Man another seizure f**k the bulls**t I’m going vegan #faceplant,” she captioned the post.

Celebrities and fans offered words of encouragement and suggestions to help with the seizures in the comment section.

“F**k slick, let us know if there’s anything you need out here. Literally just started seeing a specialist for new allergic reactions,” singer Miguel wrote.

“Babe you ok?! What do you need? Can I help in anyway? Wishing you well love,” Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo asked.

Fans also encouraged the model to go vegan or change her diet, among other recommendations.

“Have you tried CBD oil? My daughter has seizures and it really helps,” one fan suggested.

Woods—who recently appeared on Love & Hip-Hop—revealed in November that she was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma and had begun chemotherapy.

She suffered her first seizure in January in her sleep, which left her hospitalized. She had also previously shared that she had lost feeling in her legs and one of her hands and was briefly confined to a wheelchair.

Our thoughts are with Woods as she continues to fight cancer and recovery from other health setbacks.

Pop Smoke, an up and coming rapper out of New York, was murdered Wednesday morning (Feb. 19) in an apparent home invasion robbery at a house he was renting in Hollywood Hills, California.

The Los Angeles Police Department said a shooting was reported around 4:30 a.m. PST at a home in Hollywood Hills.

Officials said the home is an Airbnb owned by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and her husband, and Pop Smoke was renting the property at the time of the shooting.

The LAPD said two men wearing hoodies and ski masks broke into the home and opened fire on Pop smoke, critically wounding the rapper before fleeing on foot.

LAPD officials didn’t immediately identify the victim, however, TMZ broke the news that the man killed in the shooting was Pop Smoke.

Pop Smoke was rushed to nearby Cedars-Sinai hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The shooting suspects are reportedly still at large and have so far not been identified.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ there was a party/gathering at the house prior to the shooting and they are currently unaware of a motive.

The New York rapper, whose real name is Bashar Barakah Jackson, released his hit single “Welcome to the Party” in April 2019. He was only 20 years old.

An Indianapolis woman was allegedly shot and killed for exposing a man she knew as being gay on social media.

The victim, who went by the name Jane TheMayor Waughfield on Facebook, was involved in a car crash Tuesday morning (Feb. 18) where police found her suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to social media, Jane’s death was over a beef she had with a man who she knew personally.

Here are some things to know about Jane and the investigation involving her death:

Jane exposed a man she used to mess around with as a homosexual on Facebook Live.

Days before her death, Jane went on Facebook Live and told her followers she caught a man she used to have relations with having sex with another man.

Jane said she accidentally walked in on the men, catching them in the act, and the accused the men of threatening to kill her.

Jane also revealed that she threatened to out the man (whose name has not been released at this time) she used to mess around with on social media if he did not pay her $5,000.

Jane accused the man she exposed of having sex with his male cousin.

In addition to the Facebook Live video of her exposing the man, Jane also posted a picture of the guy on her Facebook page.

In the post, Jane wrote that the man she caught him having sex with was his cousin.

“I walked in on this Haughville nigga f**king his own cousin in the a**! On my momma!” she said.

Jane also wrote in one of her last Facebook posts: “Keep acting like u don’t know.”

Social media is calling out the man Jane exposed as the shooting suspect, though police haven’t released any details about her death.

Although police have not revealed a suspect or motive for the shooting, a number of social media users believe the man Jane exposed on Facebook is responsible.

“That man need to own up to the fact he a doo doo pusher my bros that are real men like p***y yall n***as out here bad,” one Facebook user wrote.

Another Facebook user said: “Let’s keep it a 100 ladies how many of us have gay friends that tell us about f**king ‘Straight niggas’ we put our ppl on and keep it moving she executed this wrong? but definitely didn’t deserve to die for it!”

Other users felt like Jane got what she deserved for exposing the man.

“It’s completely wrong killing anyone But that really wasn’t her place to tell somebody’s personal business then try make them pay her YALL STAY SAYING STOP SNITCHING YALL LIVE BY THAT SO MUCH NOW everyone switching up Black people so dumb I hope she Rest In Peace it wS [sic[ so not worth.”

According to local news reports, police are still investigating the crash and shooting, but they believe it is an isolated incident.

Another man was badly injured in the car crash Jane was involved in.

When police arrived at the scene of the crime, Jane’s car and three other vehicles were found involved in a car crash. One man involved in the wreck was hospitalized and was listed in serious condition.

Police also reported hearing gunshots and a loud crash prior to arriving at the scene. Jane was found suffering from a gunshot wound in her car and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

It has not been confirmed if Jane died from the car crash or the gunshot wound, however, eyewitnesses claim the driver of a yellow Chevrolet Camaro was speeding and crashed into another car.

Investigators believe the woman driving the Camaro had been shot before the crash.

“The Camaro came 90 to 100 miles per hour down the road and hit the blue car and spun it three times,” witness Mike Smith said, according to Fox 59.

“The guy surprisingly got out of his car in one piece and went to the Camaro and opened the door and realized she was unconscious or dead,” Smith added.

An Iowa man did the absolute most in an extreme attempt to call out a white woman’s racism during this Black History Month.

Robert Noye of Cedar Rapids was arrested on Monday (Feb. 17) for allegedly holding a woman hostage and forcing her to watch the 1977 mini-series Roots in its entirety.

According to a criminal complaint, Noye forced the women to watch the 9-hour series “so she could better understand her racism.”

Police also say that when the woman tried to move or stand up, the 52-year-old threatened her life, stating he “would kill her and spread her body parts across Interstate 380 on the way to Chicago.”

Noye was charged with false imprisonment and first-degree harassment.

The acclaimed miniseries chronicles the late author Alex Haley’s ancestry from the capture and enslavement of Kunta Kinte and his descendants. It received 27 Emmy nominations and remains one of the highest-rated programs in TV history.

Roots was remade in 2016.

“Good Times” Star Ja’net Dubois Died Unexpectedly in Her Sleep, Family Says

Ja’net DuBois, the actress who played Willona Woods on the classic sitcom Good Times, was found dead in her home Tuesday (Feb. 18). She was 74 years old.

DuBois’ family told TMZ she died unexpectedly in her sleep overnight at her home in Glendale, California.

According to family members, DuBois wasn’t suffering from any illnesses, hadn’t complained of any specific ailments recently and appeared to be in good health in the days leading up to her passing.

In fact, her last public appearance was just a little over two weeks ago on February 1st at an autograph signing in Hollywood with her Good Times co-stars Ralph Carter, Jimmie Walker, BernNadette Stanis, and Johnny Brown.

Dubois was seen smiling alongside her former cast members in a number of photos from the event.

In addition to her role on Good Times, DuBois was also known for co-writing and singing “Movin’ On Up,” the theme song for the long-running sitcom The Jeffersons, which aired on CBS from 1975 to 1985.

DuBois won two Emmy Awards for her voiceover work on the Eddie Murphy animated series The PJs, which aired on FOX between 1999 and 2001.

Her other TV credits included guest-starring roles on episodes of ER, The Love Boat, Everybody Loves Raymond, A Different World, The Facts of Life, Home Improvement, Moesha, Touched By an Angel and Cold Case.

She also appeared in a few movies over the years, including I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988), Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003) and Tropic Thunder (2008).

Ja’net Dubois is survived by her three children: Yovanne DuBois, Burghardt DuBois, and Rani DuBois, who had roles on Good Times and What’s Happening!!

Genuine or Shady? Loni Love Gives Tamar Braxton a Special Shout-Out While Celebrating The Real’s 1,000th Episode

One of daytime’s biggest gambles has proven they are here to say. The Real celebrated its 1,000th show, an important milestone for any daytime program.

On Monday (Feb. 17), Loni Love, Tamera Mowry, Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai and newest co-host Amanda Seales, celebrated The Real‘s 1,000th show with champagne, confetti, and retrospective packages.

“We really are the show that people doubted for a really long time,” Bailon said.

“They never thought that a show like ours that represents women of color and women in general, that a show like ours would make it to the thousandth episode.”

Mai tearfully added that their vulnerability is what has resonated with their audience before Love interjected to give a special shout out.

“We also want to say something. I want to say Tamar Braxton, you are still our sister. This is your 1,000th episode too.”

Braxton was an original co-host when the show premiered in 2013. She was then abruptly and controversially fired in 2016, which lead to a public fallout between her and her former co-hosts.

Love has consistently been the most outspoken of Braxton’s firing and has attempted to make peace with Braxton.

She even invited Braxton back on the show as a guest last year, which led to another public spat between the two because the singer felt she was being used as a “marketing tool” and declined the invite.

So given Love and Braxton’s sordid history, was the host’s shout-out a genuine acknowledgment of Braxton’s contributions to The Real or a thinly veiled shady comment for the host that’s no longer at the table?

Boosie Goes Off on Dwyane Wade for Supporting 12-Year-Old Transgender Daughter: “You’ve Gone Too F**king Far, Don’t Cut His D**k Off!”

Boosie Badazz wants the world to know that he is NOT here for Dwyane Wade’s public support of his transgender daughter.

Wade made headlines last week when he spoke out in support of his 12-year-old transgender daughter Zaya on Ellen.

And while most celebrities have applauded the retired NBA star for showing the world what unconditional love for your children looks like, Boosie wants Wade to know that he is all the way on the other side of the fence.

The Louisiana rapper took to Instagram Tuesday (Feb. 18) to share his opinion on the matter, writing in the caption of the video he posted: “IM GO SAY IT SINCE THIS P***Y A** WORLD AINT GO SAY SH*T ??U TRIPPIN N***A #period”

12-Year-Old Beaten, Tortured to Death by Grandparents & Teen Uncle Who Recorded Repeated Abuse on Their Phones

Three relatives have been charged in the death of a 12-year-old boy who police believe was brutally tortured and abused for at the least the past several months.

James Hurley, 12, was found dead in his grandparents’ living room on February 3rd in a small Montana town. He had multiple wounds and contusions on his entire body, including a large gash in the back of his head.

Police found his death suspicious and launched an investigation.

A preliminary autopsy report shows that Hurley died from blunt force trauma. However, the medical examiner is also waiting on a toxicology report to make an official determination.

Hurley’s grandparents, James Sasser Jr. and Patricia Batts, and the boy’s 14-year-old uncle, James Sasser III, have all been charged with felony deliberate homicide for the death of the young boy.

“I believe the systematic torture and beatings are perpetrated on the victim in this case that led to his death,” deputy county attorney Bjorn Boyer said during their court appearance last week.

One day before Hurley’s death, Sasser III searched “concussion symptoms,” “symptoms of sleep deprivation” and “what are the symptoms of brain injury?” on his phone.

Police believe an altercation between Hurley and Sasser III led to Hurley’s death.

The uncle—who is 6 feet tall and 300 pounds—says he saw Hurley standing over Batts with a knife and tackled the 100-pound 12-year-old and repeatedly hit him with a paddle.

Though he says he never hit Hurley in the head during this particular altercation, he did repeatedly kick Hurley in the head 24-36 hours before his death.

And Batts called a January 27th incident between the two a “blood bath,” in which Sasser III punched Hurley in the face.

Police obtained video footage dating back to December 2019 documenting the abuse Hurley suffered at the hands of his grandparents and uncle.

The footage shows the three choking, slapping, and hitting Hurley with a paddle and executing other forms of torture.

In one video, Batts can be seen choking and slapping her grandson against a wall.

In another, Hurley is seen forced to walk outside in a t-shirt while his family wears heavy coats.

“Dad said don’t let him pass out from hypothermia,” Sasser III wrote in a text message to Batts the day after this incident was recorded.

A criminal complaint offers more details of the abuse, as reported by Fox59:

Instances of the abuse included James being forced to do exercises — jumping jacks and wall squats — along with standing in front of a fan with no clothing but his underwear, according to the complaint.

Videos reviewed by detectives also showed the suspects spraying James in the face with an unknown substance that burned him and choking him, the complaint said.

Police also say the food in the house was locked up and Hurley had no access to it.

The three charged with his death initially told investigators that Hurley had been hearing voices and tried to harm himself and others.

However, they have since walked back that claim and detectives have found no evidence of the family seeking any medical or psychiatric treatment for the boy.

Hurley had lived with his grandparents and their three children, including Sasser III, for the past two years, following the death of his father in 2018. They took him out of school in September.

Hurley’s mother—who lives in Texas—says she tried to call her son multiple times, but Batts prevented her from speaking with him.

A fourth person, family friend Gage Roush, has also been arrested for felony assault in the tragic case. The 18-year-old was also captured on video beating Hurley with a paddle.
