Is This Your King?! Chadwick Boseman Confused Elijah Cummings for John Lewis in Social Media Tribute

It’s one thing for racist white folks to say that all black people look alike, but for the man who played the Black Panther himself, T’Challa, it’s a real slap in the face that he can’t tell Elijah Cummings and John Lewis apart.

Elijah Cummings, the longstanding Congressman from Maryland who was among the representatives in the House leading the impeachment charge against President Trump, died unexpectedly on Thursday (Oct. 17).

The internet swelled with tributes, and celebrities and average Americans alike took to social media to pay their respects to the distinguished politician.

Chadwick Boseman was among them, but there was something wrong with his post.

Two of the three photos he posted were not of Elijah Cummings, but were instead of John Lewis, the Congressman from Georgia who is famous for his role in the Civil Rights Movement and for marching alongside MLK Jr.

The internet took notice and promptly let King T’Challa know that he needed to check his Vibranium and come again.

For the record, THIS is Elijah Cummings:

This is NOT Elijah Cummings, but John Lewis:

This is also John Lewis:

Thankfully, after Twitter got him together, Chadwick deleted his tweet and posted a correct tweet that featured only a photo of Elijah Cummings.

Nivea Says She & Lauren London Became BFFs After Finding Out They Were Pregnant By Lil Wayne at the Same Time

Youth is wasted on the young and sometimes, aging is not kind to people. Nivea, the urban R&B pop star from the early 2000s, is one of those people who time seems to have worn out like a Converse sneaker.

In a multi-part interview with VladTV, Nivea recounted her LONG history, including how she parted with ways with Jive Records after she got pregnant, dated and partnered with The-Dream, and then how she reunited with Lil’ Wayne and ended up pregnant with his child at the same time as Lauren London, one of his other baby mamas.

Vlad, asked with shock and awe, “How did you take him having two other kids outside of the relationship?”

“If this occurred before us and we’re just now gettin’ back to it, why wouldn’t I accept that son if you’re telling me you wanna marry me? So, that was that,” said Nivea.

“The next one though, which is why the relationship ended while I was carrying our son cause I couldn’t take that….I thought I could! I’m a different type of woman. I was like you know what? You love me, f**k it! But I realized that’s not what I wanted, so I let it go.”

Vlad, who was determined to be messy, pressed Nivea to clarify if Lauren London’s pregnancy was the straw that broke the camel’s back for her.

“It was very crushing. Then she and I became very close ironically,” she said. “We were two people going through something that was along the lines of humiliating.

“And it felt like who else could you share this oddly unique situation with? So we called each other to get information cause she and I were both previous relationships of his in our younger years as well.”

In some twisted way, Nivea still manages to praise Wayne by saying the fact that all of his baby mamas get along is some kind of “testament” to the kind of man he is. What kind of man is that exactly? A rolling stone?

You can watch Nivea’s rambling, uncomfortable interview with Vlad where she addresses this and more below.

Sas From “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” Jailed for Allegedly Trying to Pimp Underage Girls

If you haven’t kept up with the heart-breaking case of Cyntoia Brown, who was recently freed from prison after she killed one of her johns in self-defense, then you’re missing out on the most recent and popular stories on the horrors and struggles of sex-trafficked women in America.

It appears that Sas, better known as Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Karen “KK” King’s son and Scrapp DeLeon’s half-brother, was not moved by Cyntoia’s plight though as he decided to try his hand at pimping teenaged girls, according to a report from 11 Alive.

Sas, whose real name is Lyndon Smith, along with his co-conspirator, James Ruffin, was busted and charged by DeKalb County Police with attempting to travel with two teenaged girls out of state “for the purpose of prostitution.”

Ruffin was hit with a slew of other serious charges, including keeping a place of prostitution, interference with custody and violation of computer porn and child exploitation act.

Reports from police say the two teenage girls were safely recovered from Sas and Ruffin’s clutches.

Family of 6 Found Living in Farmhouse Basement With Mysterious Old Man Waiting for the World to End

RTV Drenthe, a Netherlands newspaper, reported that a farmhouse was hiding away a family of six (five siblings aged 18-25 plus their father) and a 58-year old mystery man living in a basement waiting for the “end of times” to come.

The family believed the rest of humanity had died off and they’d been simply waiting for their turn since 2010, police said.

Neighbors had no idea anyone else but the mysterious old man lived on the property in Buitenhuizerweg in Ruinerworld.

This all came to light Sunday evening (Oct. 15) shortly after the eldest sibling, aged 25, escaped and managed to find a nearby bar to get help.

Bar owner Chris Westerbeek described the young man as having “long hair” and “a dirty beard.” He said the man was wearing “old clothes” and “looked confused.”

“He said he’d never been to school and hadn’t been to the barber for nine years,” Westberbeek told local news reporters.

“He ordered 5 beers and drank them. Then I had a chat with him and he revealed he had run away and needed help… Then we called the police. He said he had brothers and sisters who lived at the farm. He said he was the oldest and wanted to end the way they were living.”

Local authorities were immediately notified of the situation, and while searching the secluded farm, police found a hidden staircase that led to the basement where the family had been living.

That’s also when police also found the 58-year-old man, who was in bed and appeared to have suffered a stroke years ago.

Police eventually discovered the mystery man (known as “Josef B the Austrian” by locals) was in no way related to the family of six nor did he own the farmhouse.

“Josef B the Austrian” was later arrested after he allegedly refused to cooperate with the police investigation, however, it wasn’t clear what crime(s) he was charged with.

Sources said the family didn’t have any contact with the outside world and lived off a vegetable garden and farm animals; and if needed, Josef would go into town for supplies in his Volvo.

Mayor Roger de Groot said during a press conference that investigators believe that the siblings’ mother died years ago before they moved into the farmhouse.

“For the moment, the police have a lot of unanswered questions,” he said, adding that most of the family had no legal documentation and didn’t appear to be registered anywhere.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mayor de Groot told local reporters. He said that the siblings were in “a safe place” now.

According to the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper, the farmhouse was being rented by a man.

The property’s owners, Klaas and Alida Rooze, claimed to be shocked by the disturbing discovery.

“We knew absolutely nothing of this. We had rented the house for years to an individual and now we learn that a man was living there with children. We have no idea who this can be,” they told the local outlet.

Police said their investigation is focusing on keeping the family safe and gathering more information about what exactly happened. They said they’re also working to determine if the family had been held against their will.

A video that (allegedly) shows Texas Pastor David E. Wilson of BibleWay Ministries & World Out Reach, Inc. (or at the very least someone who strongly resembles him) going down on a woman who doesn’t appear to be his wife has gone viral on social media.

We’re not sure if the video was edited or what, but the man goes on for damn near a full minute without taking even taking a breath, taking the phrase “speaking in tongues” to a whole new level.

At one point, the guy even briefly looks up to the camera, which means he knows he was being recorded. (Not a good look, Pastuh!)

The clip, accompanied by the caption “Pastor Wilson out here doing the lords work,” was originally shared on Twitter Monday afternoon (Oct. 16) and has since been re-posted all over the internet.

Of course, we’re NOT going to re-post the EXTREMELY NSFW footage here, but it’s out there if you’re willing to look for it.

Meanwhile, Twitter has been having a field day with the footage as #PastorWilson trends worldwide.

“The Pastor out here speaking in tongues,” one Twitter user joked.

“Pastor bout to have every woman coming to church next Sunday to see him,” joked another.

“Dam what church is this how do I become a member ASAP pastor knows what he’s doing tho amen,” a woman responded. “Like I’m so freakin serious if anybody knows this pastaaaaaaaaaa tell him look me up I need a healing ASAP”

For what it’s worth, we have no idea whether or not this is really Pastor David E. Wilson in the video, but after nearly two days, he has yet come out to say it’s not him, so take with that what you will.

Also, we don’t know if the woman in the video is the man’s wife or not, but if it is Pastor Wilson, we hope the First Lady ain’t out here playing with fire by filming herself getting her kitty licked on internet-capable devices.

Elijah Cummings’ Wife Says the Late Congressman Worked Tirelessly “Until His Last Breath”

The wife of Rep. Elijah Cummings says her husband worked tirelessly to represent his people, even up until his very “last breath” when he succumbed to longtime health complications at 68 years old.

Cummings not only represented Maryland’s 7th District for more than two decades, but he also lived in the inner-city district impacted by poverty and crime up until his death early Thursday morning (Oct. 17).

He was hospitalized last month and underwent some sort of medical procedure.

According to a statement from his office, the Congressman passed away from “complications concerning longstanding health challenges.”

Cummings’ wife and chairwoman of the Maryland Democratic Party, Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, released her own statement praising her husband for faithfully serving his people.

“Congressman Cummings was an honorable man who proudly served his district and the nation with dignity, integrity, compassion and humility,” Mrs. Cummings said of her late husband.

“He worked until his last breath because he believed our democracy was the highest and best expression of our collective humanity and that our nation’s diversity was our promise, not our problem. It’s been an honor to walk by his side on this incredible journey. I loved him deeply and will miss him dearly.”

In addition to passionately representing the district he was born and raised in, Cummings was also chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and used his role to defend the Obama administration against Republicans.

He also launched his own investigation into the Trump administration after the Democrats won the majority of the House of Representatives last year and was a fierce opponent of Trump’s immigration policies, especially the one that’s separating children from families, calling it inhumane.

Trump and Cummings publicly clashed back in July when the President called him a “brutal bully” and attacked the City of Baltimore, referring to it as a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess” and a “dangerous and filthy place.”

Trump also tweeted: “Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!”

Cummings, being the man of poise that he is, calmly responded to Trump directly, pointing out that Trump has largely ignored the Congressman’s efforts to improve that very same district he called “filthy” and “disgusting.”

“Mr. President, I go home to my district daily. Each morning, I wake up, and I go and fight for my neighbors. It is my constitutional duty to conduct oversight of the Executive Branch. But, it is my moral duty to fight for my constituents,” Cummings tweeted.

“Just yesterday, I held a hearing on the skyrocketing prices of prescription drugs and the financial hardships that families across the nation, and in Baltimore, are facing.

“Mr. President, we can address this together. Two years ago, I went to the White House to ask you to endorse my bill to let the government negotiate directly for lower drug prices.

“You told me then that you supported the legislation and that you would work with me to make it happen. I took you at your word.”

After spending most of the summer attacking Cummings, Trump took the time to honor the Congressman Thursday morning after his death.

“My warmest condolences to the family and many friends of Congressman Elijah Cummings,” he tweeted. “I got to see first hand the strength, passion and wisdom of this highly respected political leader. His work and voice on so many fronts will be very hard, if not impossible, to replace!”

Cuba Gooding Jr. Allegedly Asked a Woman He’d Just Met to Sit on His Face & Pee in His Mouth

After 14 women accused Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexual misconduct, prosecutors revealed details of an alleged encounter between the actor and one of his victims.

In new court papers filed on Tuesday (Oct. 15), prosecutors said Gooding boldly asked a woman he’d never met before to sit on his face and urinate in his mouth.

According to the docs, the film star approached a female stranger at a bar in Los Angeles in February 2011 and grabbed her arm as she walked past him to go to the bathroom.

The papers say Gooding “then placed his hand inside the woman’s blouse and squeezed her bare breast while he stated, in substance, ‘Sit on my face, pee in my mouth.”

After pushing Gooding away and telling him that he was “nasty,” the woman claims the actor grabbed her arm a second time when she walked past him again.

The docs say when Gooding grabbed the woman’s arm again, someone told him to leave her alone, and he said, once again: “I want her to sit on my face and pee in my mouth.”

Prosecutors said this allegation is one of many against the actor dating back as far as 2011 and spanning across four states: New York, California, Texas and Mexico.

In 2013, Gooding allegedly grabbed a woman’s butt and licked her neck without consent at the Chatwal Hotel in Manhattan.

The following year, at Cafe Havana in Malibu, California, the movie star walked up to a female stranger, reached under her skirt and touched her vagina over her underwear, court documents state.

Gooding appeared in court Tuesday after turning himself in to New York police to face a four-count indictment, including a forcible touching charge and a charge of sexual abuse in the third degree from a woman who said he pinched her buttocks without content at a Las Vegas nightclub in October 2018.

When the woman confronted him about it on the spot, she said Cuba told her he’d only pinched her on the back. She also claims the actor made a “sexually suggestive remark” to her earlier that same night.

The indictment also includes 12 allegations, however, Cuba’s not being charged for those. Prosecutors just want to show a pattern of his bad behavior.

Among the 12 allegations includes one from a woman who says Cuba, while at a restaurant in Long Beach, California, squeezed her butt and told her “You’ve got a good piece of ass.”

Another woman said back in 2006, the actor bit her shoulder a couple of times at a bar in Hollywood. She said he also humped her leg and tried to lift up her shirt.

The Oscar-winning Jerry Maguire actor pleaded not guilty to the charges and denies all of the allegations.

“This is a typical scenario in which random people come out of the woodwork to accuse a celebrity who has already been charged,” Gooding’s attorney, Mark Heller, said in response to women’s claims.

“They have no credibility because Cuba was not charged with any of those allegations.”

Gooding’s legal woes began earlier this year after he was accused of groping an unidentified woman on June 9th at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge atop the Moxy NYC Times Square Hotel.

Grainy surveillance footage from the night in question appears to show Cuba reaching over his girlfriend and touching the woman’s chest area.

However, Cuba and his people are adamant that he touched her hand and NOT her breasts.

For what it’s worth, Cuba’s girlfriend, Claudine De Niro (the estranged wife of Robert De Niro’s son) backs his account of the incident.

Prosecutors have asked the courts to allow the new accusations to be considered at trial.

“Defendant’s past behavior shows that he routinely approaches women while at bars or nightclubs with whom he has had limited or no prior interaction, and touches them inappropriately,” prosecutors argued in court documents.

“Looking at these instances, it is clear that the defendant’s actions are intentional, rather than accidental, that he does not mistakenly believe the acts are consensual.”

Nipsey Hussle’s Family Granted Guardianship of His Daughter Emani Over “Unfit” Mom Tanisha Foster

Nipsey Hussle’s immediate family members are now officially the legal guardians to the slain rapper’s 10-year-old daughter Emani following a monthslong custody battle

A Los Angeles judge granted Hussle’s family’s request to obtain legal guardianship of Emani Tuesday (Oct. 15) over her birth other, Tanisha Foster, who the family said was unfit to raise Emani on her own.

RELATED: Nipsey Hussle’s Family Says Tanisha Foster is an Unfit Mom Who Doesn’t Deserve Custody of ANY of Her Children, Especially Emani

The courts said Nipsey’s family provided “sufficient evidence” for their petition, and as a result, his sister Samantha Smith, brother Sam Asghedom, and mother Angelique Smith, have been appointed as Emani’s legal guardians.

Additionally, Lauren London was given the approval to manage the finances of her 3-year-old son Kross, who is reported to inherit half of Nipsey’s $2 million estate, while Kross’ sister Emani will get the other half. (FYI: There was never an issue between Lauren and Nipsey’s family; this is just a formality.)

Back in April, Nipsey’s sister Samantha filed paperwork to obtain legal custody of Emani, saying that she’d been taking care of her niece since her brother’s murder the month prior.

Samantha noted in her petition that Nipsey was Emani’s primary caregiver before his March 31st shooting death, and she helped take care of Emani.

Samantha said that giving her family primary custody would “ensure the continued stability for Emani,” unlike her mother, Tanisha, who she referred to as negligent.

In July, Nip and Samantha’s brother, Samiel Asghedom (aka “Blacc Sam”), as well as their mother, Angelique Smith, joined the petition as proposed co-guardians, saying there were a “constant and strong presence in Emani’s life.”

Days later, Foster filed court documents “strongly” opposing the guardianship petitions from Nipsey’s family.

“I am the mother of Emani Asghedom and there is no good reason my rights as her mother should be taken away from me,” Foster wrote.

“Emani and I are inseparable. I am and will always be her mother,” she said. “I love her with all my heart. I know that she misses me and is wondering why I am not there.”

Tanisha claimed that she and Nipsey shared parenting responsibilities, and he always made sure she was taken care of by doing things like setting her up in an apartment and giving her money to cover other necessities.

But after he died, she said she was forced to rely on “the goodwill of family and friends” for food, clothing, shelter and transportation.

“No one seems to care about the impact Ermias’ death has had upon me and Emani,” she said in the legal docs. “I have been maligned as being an unfit mother, a golddigger, and someone not worthy of any voice in the matter of my daughter and her future.”

Tanisha claimed she had “no financial means of my own to care for myself or Emani” and that she was “was dependent upon” Nipsey to get by.

“When he suddenly died, I came home one day to discover that the locks had been changed,” she said. “His family is not willing to pay the rent. I am still in the process of putting all of my personal belongings into a storage facility.”

Tanisha added, referring to the rapper by his birth name, Ermias Asghedom: “I realize that my previous lifestyle with Ermias is no longer how things will be for Emani and l. Because of the various challenges I face, I will need time to get things together for the two of us.”

Foster’s lawyer told the court in August that she had two monitored visits with Emani that went “very well,” and he said they also attended grief counseling.

“She is making progress towards gainful employment and establishing a stable residence,” the attorney, Larry Lewellyn, told the judge of Foster.

Boxer Patrick Day Dead at 27 From Brain Injuries He Suffered After Brutal Knockout Loss

Professional boxer Patrick Day died Wednesday (Oct. 16) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, four days after he was violently knocked out in a boxing match with Charles Conwell over the weekend. He was 27 years old.

Day (whose record was 17-4-1) was knocked down a total of three times—once in the fourth round, again in the eighth and also in the tenth (the KO)—by the currently unbeaten 21-year-old Conwell during Saturday’s bout at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.

Via ESPN:

Although Conwell was clearly winning the fight, Day was competitive in many of the rounds. However, in the 10th round, Conwell landed two rights and a left hook that knocked out Day.

When Day went down, the back of his head slammed onto the canvas, and referee Celestino Ruiz immediately stopped the bout without a count at 1 minute, 46 seconds.

Day was immediately surrounded by medical personnel and within minutes was taken out of the ring on a stretcher and to an ambulance.

Day never regained consciousness. At one point he had a seizure and then lapsed into a coma before undergoing emergency brain surgery.

Members of Day’s family flew to Chicago on Sunday morning to join manager/trainer Joe Higgins and Alex Dombroff, who works for DiBella, in keeping vigil, but the situation was dire and doctors gave Day little chance for survival.

On Wednesday, surrounded his parents, other family members, Higgins and close friends, Day was disconnected from the machines that had been keeping him alive.

Day’s promoter, Lou DiBella, issued a statement that read in part: “He was a son, brother, and good friend to many. Pat’s kindness, positivity, and generosity of spirit made a lasting impression with everyone he met.

“Patrick Day didn’t need to box. He came from a good family, he was smart, educated, had good values and had other avenues available to him to earn a living.

“He chose to box, knowing the inherent risks that every fighter faces when he or she walks into a boxing ring. Boxing is what Pat loved to do. It’s how he inspired people and it was something that made him feel alive.”

“Many people live much longer than Patrick’s 27 years, wondering if they made a difference or positively affected their world. This was not the case for Patrick Day when he left us. Rest in peace and power, Pat, with the angels.”

Two days before Day’s death, his last opponent Charles Conwell expressed his remorse over the situation in a heartfelt letter he shared via Instagram.

“I never meant for this to happen to you,” Conwell wrote. “All I ever wanted to do was win. If I could take it all back I would. No one deserves for this to happen to them.

“I replay the fight over and over in my head thinking what if this never happened and why did it happen to you. I can’t stop thinking about it myself.

“I prayed for you so many times and shedded so many tears because I couldn’t even imagine how my family and friends would feel. I see you everywhere I go and all I hear is wonderful things about you.

“I thought about quitting boxing but I know that’s not what you would want I know that you were a fighter at heart so I decided not to but to fight and win a world title because that’s what you wanted and [that’s] what I want so I’ll use you as motivation every day and make sure I always leave it all in the ring every time. #ChampPatrickDay”

Dwyane Wade Called His 12-Year-Old Son Zion a “Girl” & Social Media Has Thoughts (and Gabrielle Union Isn’t Here for Them)

Dwyane Wade took to Instagram earlier this week to share a photo of his wife, Gabrielle Union, their 11-month-old daughter Kaavia and Wade’s 12-year-old son Zion.

The retired NBA player captioned the picture “My Girls” with a black and red heart emoji, seemingly calling his son as a girl as well.

While most social media users were appreciative of Wade’s apparent support of his child as they explore their identity, some took issue with Wade referring to a male child as a “girl.”

“What y’all think about this?” one Twitter user asked Monday (Oct. 14) with a screenshot of Wade’s IG post.

Most of the responses on Twitter were positive.

“Am I supposed to raise my eyebrow at parents loving their kids?” asked one user. “I don’t care long as everyone is happy and healthy,” said another.

Another Twitter user wrote: “I don’t think anything is wrong with it. I actually like the fact [that] he’s treating his son the way he wants too and isn’t disowning / bashing him and etc.”

A lot of responses on Facebook, however, weren’t as positive.

“He can support his child. But call that lil n***a what he is. A BOY,” opined one Facebook user in the comments of a viral re-post of the photo.

“Absolutely disgusting,” said another.

Others pointed out that maybe Wade wasn’t even referring to Zion as a “girl” and was simply talking about Gabrielle Union and their daughter (hence the two hearts on the photo—also, Zion isn’t looking at the camera).

“What if he was literally only talking about Gabby and the baby,” chimed in one user on Twitter.

Gabrielle Union caught wind of the viral tweet and shared her own thoughts.

“Looks like love to me,” she tweeted. “I truly hope that everyone gets the love, support and hugs they deserve. Also Kaav ain’t with the dumb shit. Peace & Blessings good people.”

Zion is Dwyane’s son with his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches. The former Miami Heat shooting guard and Union showed their support for Zion back in April when he attended the Miami Pride parade.

“We support each other with pride!” Wade wrote on a photo of Zion and Gabby on his Instagram Stories.

Wade and Union’s public support of Zion wasn’t well-received by all, and Wade clapped back at the haters in an interview with Variety a couple of months later, reminding folks that his number one job as a father is to support his child.

“I don’t really talk about it much because it’s Zion’s story to tell. I think as a family, we should support each other. That’s our job,” he told the magazine.

“And my job as a father is to facilitate their lives and to support them and be behind them in whatever they want to do. My role is to support my kids and love my kids.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/By1QegzHoJI/

Wade said that he was surprised by the backlash, considering the fact that he was doing what he thought every parent should do.

“I’m very uneasy about accolades that come from supporting my kids or the negativity that comes with it. I’m doing what every parent should do,” he said.

“Once you bring kids into this world, you have to become unselfish. You’re not important anymore. Your kids become the most important thing. Your family becomes the most important thing.”

Dwyane Wade and his family after he played his final home game with the Miami Heat in April 2019.

Wade added: “It’s my job to be their role model, to be the voice in my kids’ lives to let them know that you can conquer the world and you have the support of your father and the support of your family every step of the way, so go and be your amazing self and we’re going to sit back and support you all the way.”

Uganda Announces Plans for “Kill the Gays” Law Imposing Death Penalty for Gay Sex

Having sexual intercourse with the person of the same sex could be a crime worthy death if a group of Ugandan officials have their way.

Uganda recently announced plans for a bill that would impose the death penalty on homosexuals, hoping that the legislation curbs a rise in gay sex in the East African nation.

The bill, which has been nicknamed “Kill the Gays,” was canceled five years ago due to a technicality, however, the government says it plans to revive it within the next few weeks.

Under current law, gay sex is punishable with up to life imprisonment, but the new law will make it a crime punishable by death.

Ethics and Integrity Minister Simon Lokodo said current laws aren’t tough enough.

“Homosexuality is not natural to Ugandans, but there has been a massive recruitment by gay people in schools, and especially among the youth, where they are promoting the falsehood that people are born like that,” Lokodo told Reuters.

“Our current penal law is limited. It only criminalizes the act. We want it made clear that anyone who is even involved in promotion and recruitment has to be criminalized. Those that do grave acts will be given the death sentence.”

Countries in Africa are home to some of the world’s most prohibitive laws against homosexuality.

Across the majority of the content, same-sex relationships are considered taboo, and gay sex is a crime punishable by either imprisonment or death in most countries.

Earlier this year, Brunei—a small country located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia—sparked international outcry after announcing plans to impose the death penalty for gay sex, but backtracked after intense criticism.

Now Uganda wants to try their hands at an extreme anti-gay law.

Simon Lokodo said the bill, which is supported by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, will be re-introduced in parliament in the coming weeks and is expected to be voted on before the year ends.

Lokodo said a number of legislators “are supportive” of the bill and he’s very optimistic that it will pass with the necessary number of votes.

However, the Uganda Media Center released a statement saying that the government “does not intend to introduce any new law with regards to the regulation of #LGBTQ activities in Uganda because the current provisions in the #PenalCode are sufficient.”

Meanwhile, Ugandan activists are worried that moves to restrict LGBT+ rights and criminalize gay sex will promote violence against affected community members.

Pepe Julian Onziema from Sexual Minorities Uganda, an alliance of several LGBT+ organizations, said its members are fearful of what the legislation will bring to their community.

“When the law was introduced last time, it whipped up homophobic sentiment and hate crimes,” Onziema said.

“Hundreds of LGBT+ people have been forced to leave the country as refugees and more will follow if this law is enacted. It will criminalise us from even advocated for LGBT+ rights, let alone supporting and protecting sexual minorities.”

Onziema said three gay men and one transgender woman had been murdered in homophobic attacks in Uganda this year. The latest happened earlier this month when Brian Wasswa, a young gay paralegal, was bludgeoned to death at his home.

“We are concerned about the current political environment and homophobic comments being made by government personnel,” said Justine Balya of the Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF). “All this is feeding the homophobia and violence against LGBT people.”

White Cop Who Shot & Killed Black Woman in Her Own Home Arrested & Charged With Murder

The white police officer in Fort Worth, Texas who fatally shot a black woman in her home own while she was babysitting her nephew over the weekend has been arrested and charged with murder.

Jail records show that former officer Aaron York Dean is being held on $200,000 bond at the Tarrant County Correction Center for the shooting death of Atatiana Jefferson.

His arrest comes just hours after he resigned from the Fort Worth Police Department before he could be formally charged.

“Had the officer not resigned, I would have fired him for violations for several policies, including our use of force policy, our de-escalation policy and unprofessional conduct,” Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus said at a press conference Monday.

Dean still could face further criminal charges as well as possible civil rights violations, Kraus added.

Fort Worth Cop Who Shot & Killed Atatiana Jefferson in Her Own Home Resigns, Still Faces Criminal Charges

The white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed, innocent black woman while she was minding her own business in her own home in Fort Worth, Texas over the weekend has resigned from his job amid calls from the woman’s family for him to be fired and charged as a criminal.

The Fort Worth Police Department identified the cop in question as 35-year-old Aaron York Dean during a press conference Monday afternoon (Oct. 14) noting that he had resigned but would still be facing criminal charges for the shooting death of 28-year-old Atatiana Jefferson.

The Fort Worth Police Dept. said officers responded around 2:25 a.m. early Saturday morning (Oct. 12) after a concerned neighbor called a non-emergency line to report that the front door to Jefferson’s home had been left open all night, which was unusual.

Aaron Dean, one of the responding officers, shot through a window, killing Jefferson in her bedroom.

Fort Worth police said in a statement that officers saw someone near a window inside the home, and after “perceiving a threat,” Dean drew his service weapon and fired one shot.

At a press conference on Sunday, police officials couldn’t comment on what the “perceived threat” was.

As shown in recently released bodycam footage, the responding officers did not announce themselves nor did they knock when they arrived at the home.

Fort Worth police later said they were investigating why the cops didn’t say they were with the police.

The edited bodycam footage shows the officers passing two open doors without announcing themselves before walking through a closed gate in the backyard and shining flashlights.

After seeing someone through a window of the house, Officer Aaron Dean yelled “Put your hands up! Show me your hands!” and, without hesitation, shot through the window.

Attorney Lee Merritt—who represented the family of Botham Jean and investigated Joshua Brown’s shooting death—is now representing Jefferson’s family.

He said on Twitter that Atatiana Jefferson was playing video games with her 8-year-old nephew Zion when the welfare call was made.

Merritt said Jefferson thought she heard a noise in her backyard and was shot when she went to investigate. Fort Worth police confirmed that Jefferson’s nephew was with her when she was killed.

In a family press conference on Monday, Merritt said Zion remembers much of what happened and was in the room with Jefferson was shot.

“He never left the room. He saw her when she fell,” Merritt said, adding that Zion wanted to be the one who looked out the window but Atatiana (also known by her nickname “Tay”) wouldn’t let him.

Family members also demanded that Officer Aaron Dean be fired and criminally charged.

Ashley Carr said her sister was killed by Dean’s “reckless act,” and suggested that the federal government take over the investigation.

“She was enjoying a life in her home, where no one would have expected her life to be in harm’s way, especially not at the hands of a civil servant who has taken an oath to serve and protect,” Carr said.

“There is simply no justification for his actions,” she added. “We demand justice for Atatiana through an independent and thorough investigation.”

Jefferson’s brother, Adarius Carr, said: “This man murdered someone. He should be arrested.”

“Why this man is not in handcuffs is a source of continued agitation for this family and for this community,” family attorney Lee Merritt said.

Community activists also voiced their frustration and pledged their support for Jefferson’s family.

“We are not looking for a slap on the wrist,” community activist Cory Hughes said. “We are demanding that he be charged like the criminal he is.”

Brotherhood Movement member Malikk Ed said: “We will not stand down on this one. There’s no Kumbaya for this one. There’s no forgiveness for this one. There’s no judge-hugging-officer for this one.”

Jefferson, a 2014 premed graduate of Xavier University, worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative, her family said.

Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus said Monday that Dean was not cooperative in the initial investigation, and turned in his resignation before he was able to fire the rookie cop.

“He resigned before his opportunity to cooperate,” Kraus said. “Had the officer not resigned I would have fired him for violations of several policies, including our use of force policy, our de-escalation policy, and unprofessional conduct.”

Kraus said that Dean was stripped of his badge and firearm on Sunday.

Dean was hired by the FWPD in August 2017 and was commissioned in April 2018. Kraus said the only thing on his record was a traffic accident and nothing else.

Fort Worth police officials said that despite Dean’s resignation, his record and separation paperwork will show that he was dishonorably discharged.

Kraus also said during Monday’s press conference that Dean will still face criminal charges, and noted that a preliminary case had also been presented to the FBI as a possible civil rights violation.

“We take these incidents seriously,” Kraus said.

James Smith, the neighbor who made the call, told WFAA that he called the non-emergency line to ask for a welfare check because he was concerned that the lights were on, the front door was open and he didn’t see any movement inside the house.

Atatiana Jefferson’s mother was in the hospital and Atatiana was staying at her house at the time so that she could take care of her.

Smith said that he was worried because he thought that Atatiana’s mom had returned home from the hospital and was having medical issues again.

“I called for a welfare check. No domestic violence, no arguing, nothing that they should have been concerned with as far as them coming with guns drawn to my neighbor’s house,” Smith said. “I don’t know what went on in the house but I know that she wasn’t a threat.”

Jeremy Renner’s Ex-Wife Claims He Threatened to Kill Her in a Murder-Suicide While High on Cocaine

Jeremy Renner’s custody battle with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco is getting really ugly. Pacheco is now alleging Renner once put a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill her while high on cocaine.

Pacheco is requesting full custody of their 6-year-old daughter Ava with monitored visitation for Renner. They currently have joint custody.

In court documents for the custody change, Pacheco makes serious allegations of drug abuse and threatening behaviors against the Avengers star.

She claims Renner once placed a gun in his mouth and threatened to kill himself. He then fired the gun into the ceiling while Ava was asleep in her room.

Last November, while drunk and high on coke at a club, he allegedly told someone he wanted to kill Pacheco because he “could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted her gone.”

She says that wasn’t the first time he threatened to kill her. She alleges the nanny also once overhead Renner contemplating killing Pacheco and himself, stating: “It was better that Ava had no parents than to have [Sonni] as a mother.”

Pacheco states in the documents that Renner has a long history of substance abuse and verbal and physical abuse.

She claims while keeping Ava, he once left coke on the bathroom counter where it was possible for the little one to reach the substance.

Ava herself also once told her om that her dad has several women in and out of the house including: “Tayler, Kelley, Natalie, Summer, Faith, Christina, Naz and Jessica.”

A rep for Renner released a statement to TMZ in response to Pacheco’s shocking allegations. It reads:

“The well-being of his daughter Ava has always been and continues to be the primary focus for Jeremy. This is a matter for the court to decide. It’s important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind.”

Renner and Pacheco were married in January 2014. Pacheco filed for divorce in December of that year.

Botham Jean’s Lawyer Lee Merritt Reads Nicki Minaj for Trashing Botham’s Brother for Hugging Amber Guyger

While a whole lot of (white) people were touched and moved by that moment when Brandt Jean, the late Botham Jean’s brother, announced that he not only forgave Amber Guyger, his brother’s killer, but he also wanted to hug her while he was on the stand, many on Black Twitter were pissed.

Nicki Minaj was one of those people who found the display distasteful, but she kept her mouth shut. But then the primary witness in the case, Joshua Brown, was snuffed out shortly after.

At that point, under the assumption that Brown was murdered for speaking on behalf of Jean against officer Guyger, Nicki unloaded her frustrations on the hug, Judge Tammy Kemp, the Jean family and the brutal murder of Brown.

“I wonder if they were hugging on him after he got off that stand the way they were all boo hoo cryin, hugging on the murderer. Talk about a slap in the face. Go hug on his fatherless child now. He should’ve let y’all suffer & minded his business. This is heartbreaking. RIP”

What Nicki said, as harsh as it might’ve seemed, was what a lot of black people felt.

Among those who supported Nicki’s sentiments was Joshua Brown’s baby mama. She tweeted in response to the rapper’s now-deleted statement:

“Omg, Nicki! Thank you so much for speaking out for my son’s father. I’m trying to be as strong as I can for Our son. There are so many things that are unjustified. Please keep Our son & Joshua’s other children in your prayers! Much Love”

One person who did NOT appreciate the Head Barb weighing in on the Botham Jean/Joshua Brown cases though was Lee Merritt, who was the lawyer for the Jean family and subsequently, Joshua Brown’s family.

Merritt put out a scathing statement that condemned Nicki for judging the Jean family and simultaneously praised Nicki’s rivals/peers (Cardi B and Rihanna) for being better celebrity social justice champions than her.

“@nickiminaj decided to shame the 18 year old brother of #BothamJean for forgiving and embracing #AmberGuyger after she was convicted and sentenced for the murder of his brother. First, I have to welcome Nicki to the conversation.

“To date artist like @badgalriri, @iamcardib and a whole host of her colleagues have helped me advocate for justice for Botham and other victims of police brutality. Nicki has stood silent. But now she decides to take her huge platform and use it to attack a teenager grappling with the murder of his brother and the tenets of his faith.

“The Jean family has suffered. This beautiful, regal, proud, pious family has endured more pain and suffering than anyone deserves. They have reacted in a myriad of ways. His mom says she almost lost her faith. Botham’s sister has spent the past year almost constantly choked with anger. For his part Brandt has become reclusive and silent.

“When he chose to speak to the source of his family’s distress— he had the right to say and do whatever he needed to in order to get past this unthinkable tragedy.

“Nicki’s statement ‘he should have let y’all suffer and minded his business’ is chilling. To direct your anger at this family is at best misguided. I represent both families. They don’t blame each other. They share in each other’s suffering in a way only they could fully appreciate.

“Nicki has no place speaking on this family’s suffering or saying someone should have added to it. There was no causal relationship between Brandt’s show of mercy and the murder of Joshua.

“There is a lot of righteous anger about the facts surrounding the murder of Joshua Brown. You could use your huge platform to address the protocol violations of the judge or instructing your millions of followers to demand DPD recuse itself from the investigation. Instead you belittle and shame a family that has suffered more than any of us.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B3cU31wpDS_/

As if that scathing commentary was enough, Merritt further clapped back at the Barbz who criticized him for going in on Nicki publicly by branding her actions as an “evil” that he had to combat.

“Her statement hurt a family that I care very much about. I have a platform. I get to use it to address the evil people put out in the world.”

And I Oop GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Now, Nicki definitely jumped out the window in judging the Jean family the way that she did, but Merritt also put a little too much sauce on that.

Mentioning Cardi B (her archnemesis) and Rihanna (who she no longer seems to be friendly with) was a petty move on his part and calling her actions “evil” was a bit much.

But hey, Nicki set herself up inserting herself into legal matters that she doesn’t have all the information on.

It’s especially surprising she waded into this case considering she has remained ABSOLUTELY tight-lipped about the horrendous legal case her brother Jelani Maraj is going through for allegedly raping his underaged stepdaughter.

So if you can keep your mouth shut for your brother’s case, maybe follow that same protocol for other folks’ business, Nick?

Kanye West’s Pastor Says His Devout Christian Transition is So Real That He Doesn’t Allow Cussing Around Him

Kanye West hosts "Sunday Service" at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Georgia (near Atlanta) on September 15th, 2019.

While it’s no secret that Kanye West has long been one of the most expressive, genre-breaking creatives in the music game, many didn’t expect the man who swore he WAS a God to pull a Ma$e and turn his life over completely to God.

But if Kanye’s white, Californian pastor is to be believed, Ye’s transition to a purely Christ-filled life and purpose is the real deal.

Pastor Adam Tyson recently appeared on the Pure Flix Podcast, where he spilled the beans on Kanye’s latest walk with Jesus Christ.

Adam Tyson (Kanye West’s pastor)

“The fruit that I’m seeing is he’s no longer continuing in some of the sin patterns that he was before he came to Christ,” Tyson said. “Right now, every day, he is living and walking with God, so from what I can tell, there’s no reason for me not to encourage that and be a part of that…I’ve spent enough hours with this man to know God is at work.”

As part of Ye’s transformation, he’s apparently no longer going to be using profane language in his music.

That means Taylor Swift can breathe a bit easier now as this means he definitely won’t be referring to her as a bitch again on his next album as he did back on “Famous.”

“If somebody cusses in his presence, I’ve heard him say a couple of times, ‘Hey, man, you can’t cuss when you’re with me. I’m a born-again Christian,'” said Tyson.

“Who’s gonna say that if they’re not meaning that they want Christ to be exalted in all that they do? [He told me], ‘From now on, all I want to do is serve Christ. I want every song that I sang, to have part of my testimony, to include the gospel, and to include the element of worship to our great God. That’s what I want to do.'”

Supposedly, Kanye has relocated to Wyoming and is living in the wilderness with nothing but his thoughts, prayers, music and Pastor Tyson’s advice during their weekly Bible studies.

While it’s possible that Ye’s change of heart is permanent, after all, once Prince found God he ditched much of his raunchy, explicit catalog as well, I have a feeling this is going to be yet another phase in the amazingly fantastical life of Kanye West.

Nicki Minaj’s Brother Jelani Maraj Loses Attempt to Appeal Child Rape Conviction Over Juror Misconduct

It seems like forever ago when Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj was frog-marched into court and charged and convicted with raping his underaged stepdaughter, but in reality, it’s been roughly two years.

But two years after the case was seemingly closed, Jelani is still awaiting his sentencing, and he and his mother, Carol Maraj, are diligently denying the criminal actions he’s been convicted of.

Newsday reports that Jelani’s legal team attempted to toss out his conviction on the basis that the jurors who found him guilty were compromised.

Evidence was found that the jurors were reading news stories and blog posts about the case, which undermines their ability to be fair-minded, and the fact that Jelani had a famous sister had a profound impact on one juror who decided that if Nicki didn’t show up to testify on her brother’s behalf, then he must be guilty.

But the judge wasn’t here for it and he decided that while the jurors might have behaved improperly, it wasn’t enough justification to overturn the conviction.

From Newsday:

State Supreme Court Justice Robert McDonald said in announcing his ruling Tuesday in Nassau County Court that “not every misstep by a juror rises to the inherent and prejudicial level at which reversal is required.”

Maraj, the judge said, failed to meet the “burden of proof that any misconduct here created a significant risk that a substantial right of the defendant was prejudiced.”

Maraj is now facing up to life in prison following his convictions on charges of predatory sexual assault on a child and child endangerment. He’s scheduled for sentencing on Nov. 18.

Nassau District Attorney’s Office spokesman Brendan Brosh said prosecutors would “reserve comment for sentencing.”

But Maraj’s trial attorney, David Schwartz, said “there was clear jury misconduct.” He added that “outside influences,” including social media posts and news articles, “affected that verdict” of “at least a few” jurors.

Attorney Stephen Scaring, who will handle an appeal for Maraj, said jurors “seem not to be able to resist” turning on their cellphones.

“The problem, of course, is that the information they’re getting is so damaging to one side or the other that once it happens, it really in my view precludes a fair trial,” Scaring said.

The defendant’s mother, Carol Maraj, called the decision “unfair” after leaving court.

As always, Nicki has remained completely silent on the case.

If Jelani and his legal team are hoping to try another Hail Mary, they don’t have much time as his November 18th sentencing is just around the corner.

Amber Rose & Boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards Welcome Son Slash Electric Alexander Edwards

Amber Rose is officially a “MUVA” of two after finally giving birth to her second child late Thursday night (Oct. 10), a son she and her music executive boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards decided to name Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.

Edwards announced the happy news himself via Instagram, writing alongside a photo of him holding his newborn son:

“Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.. the world is urs now thank u @amberrose for loving me so much that u put ur body thru it 2 bring my sun in2 the world. I could never be as strong as u. Slash a rockstar”

Amber Rose had been pregnant for approximately 12 months before giving birth.

We’re joking, but seriously, it feels like Amber had been pregnant forever, and she even joked about it herself recently on Instagram, writing: “Yes I’m still Pregnant.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/B3XeT57BSWb/

Amber and Alex, who have been dating since last September, first announced Amber’s pregnancy back in April on Instagram.

“@ae4president and I are SUPER excited to announce that we have a Sweet little Baby Boy on the way!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “P.S Sebastian is soooooo Happy to be a big brother!”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BvzwwNInbQv/

“Thank u baby 4 my greatest gift. sh*t wild!” Alex shared in his own post. “I love you … I can’t wait to thug it out w my baby boy.”

While this is AE’s first child, this is Amber’s second, as she’s already a mother to her 6-year-old son, Sebastian Taylor, from her previous marriage to rapper Wiz Khalifa.

Rose recently shared that being pregnant is hell for her, as she has suffered from hyperemesis—an extreme form of morning sickness—in both pregnancies.

“I said I was going to document this pregnancy a little bit more than I did with Sebastian, ’cause with Sebastian I had hyperemesis, and I have hyperemesis again with this baby,” she said in a video on Instagram.

Amber added that despite having to be hospitalized and given IV treatments after losing weight due to her constantly vomiting in the early weeks of her pregnancy, it was all “totally worth it.”

Judge Tammy Kemp Cries, Says “I Wouldn’t Be Getting This Criticism” If Amber Guyger Were Black

Judge Tammy Kemp is still out here trying to get sympathy after she came under fire for hugging former Dallas cop Amber Guyger and giving her a Bible after Guyger was convicted of murdering an unarmed black man last year as he was minding his own business inside his own home.

Judge Kemp, a Black woman, recently sat down with CNN as a part of her media rounds after sentencing Guyger, who is White, to 10 years in prison for shooting and killing Botham Jean back in September 2018.

Kemp said she hugged Jean’s family and thought it would be “rude” if she didn’t hug Guyger as well, especially considering the fact that Guyger practically begged her for one.

“I think people are taken aback that I would reach out to Amber Guyger because the act that she committed was so horrific, and the victim was such a good person,” Kemp told CNN.

“But I try to look beyond the horrific act, and see the person behind it, realizing that that person would rejoin our society … It’s my hope that she’ll become a productive member of society.”

Kemp recalled that she told Guyger: “‘Ms. Guyger — Mr. Jean has forgiven you. Please forgive yourself, so you can have a purposeful life.’ And she asked me, ‘Do you think my life can still have a purpose?’ And I said, ‘I know it can.'”

Kemp claims Guyger then asked her: “Do you think God will forgive me?” to which Kemp says she replied yes, and according to the judge, Guyger told her she didn’t have a Bible and didn’t “know where to begin” in regards to seeking forgiveness from the big man upstairs.

“And that’s when I went to retrieve my Bible and gave it to her,” Kemp explained, adding that Guyger told her she’d return her Bible “in 10 years.”

Kemp—who became visibly emotional during a separate interview, grabbing a tissue and wiping tears from her eyes at one point—also responded to the backlash she’s received from social media and legal experts for being so compassionate towards a convicted murderer and essentially pulled her own version of the race card (but in reverse).

“Frankly, I don’t think I would be getting this criticism if Miss Guyger were a Black woman,” Kemp said. “I hate that we limit our compassion to one race.”

Judge Denies Evelyn Lozada’s Restraining Order Request Against “Basketball Wives” Co-Star OG Chijindu

Not long after Evelyn Lozada filed a lawsuit against her “Basketball Wives” co-star Ogom “OG” Chijindu for defamation, she tried to up the ante a bit by requesting a temporary restraining order against OG, but the judge basically told her “nah fam, we good.”

According to TMZ, a judge denied the restraining order request, saying that the matter would be “more appropriately handled through the lawsuit Evelyn already filed.”

In other words, you doing way too much Evelyn. Also: You played yourself.

Evelyn and OG’s beef has been well-documented on the latest season of “Basketball Wives.”

In one episode, in particular, the ladies argued over screenshots of text messages and DMs between OG and Lozada’s ex-husband Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson that were supposedly sent back and forth the year before they got married.

The beef has also spilled over into social media, which eventually led to Evelyn’s defamation lawsuit accusing OG of tarnishing her reputation by calling her a “racist bigot” on Twitter.

OG’s post was in response to a cryptic message Evelyn wrote on her Instagram Stories.

Evelyn’s message read: “Nobody watches you harder than the people that can’t stand you” and the post was accompanied by a picture of a laughing monkey.

“And there it is.. show your true colors you racist bigot,” OG tweeted. “You called Cece ‘Ling ling,’ Jackie a ‘cockroach’ and now me a ‘monkey.’ May God take care of you well well..Evelyn Lozada @VH1 NOT OK.”

In her lawsuit, Evelyn says she’s far from a racist because she’s of Hispanic descent and “her 2 children are African and Hispanic descent.”

Evelyn also points out that she’s the chairperson of her foundation that raises money for abused women, and she’s also raised thousands of dollars for the Sauti Yeti Center for African Women.

“These are the actions of a person that is not racist,” Evelyn claims.

Evelyn said due to OG calling her a racist on social media, which was eventually picked up by the blogs and celebrity gossip sites, she lost a number of brand deal endorsements, so she’s suing for defamation and “infliction of emotional distress.”

The amount of money Evelyn is requesting in her lawsuit hasn’t been revealed.
