The Rock’s Dad, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson, Dead at 75

Longtime WWE superstar Rocky “Soul Man” Johnson, the father of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has died.

The WWE announced the sad news of Johnson’s passing Wednesday evening (Jan. 15). He was 75 years old.

Rocky Johnson, born Wayde Douglas Bowles, made his fighting debut in 1966. He competed in the National Wrestling Alliance throughout the 1970s, and also earned several regional singles and tag team titles in those years.

In 1983, he joined the WWE and won the World Tag Team Championship alongside Tony Atlas after beating The Wild Samoans that same year, a feat that made them the first African-Americans to win the wrestling title.

Johnson was also known for having several notable rivalries with Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Don Muraco and Adrian Adonis.

Johnson officially retired from wrestling in 1991, but remained in the game by helping train severable notable fighters in the years since, including his own son Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—who competed in the WWE before his acting career took off.

In 2008, Johnson’s illustrious career was capped off by his induction into the the WWE Hall of Fame by his son.

The NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) released the following statement regarding Johnson’s passing today:

“The National Wrestling Alliance is saddened to hear of the passing of Rocky Johnson. His legacy stretches across every promotion. He was a champion everywhere he went including holding the NWA Georgia Championship. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.”

Cam Newton & Kia Proctor, Mother of His 4 Children, Reportedly Split After NFL Star Had Secret Baby With IG Model

Cam Newton and Kia Proctor, his longtime girlfriend and the mother of his four children, reportedly split up a few months ago. And now we may know the reason why.

According to Sports Gossip, the Carolina Panthers quarterback had a secret baby with Instagram model La Reina Shaw over the summer.

Mind you, Newton and Proctor just welcomed their fourth child together in October, meaning the two women would have been pregnant at the same time.

Though Shaw has not posted any photos of her alleged child, there is some evidence that she does have a baby. A possible baby bump was cropped out of one of her photos last year and baby bottles were spotted in her kitchen in a later post.

Sources also say that Shaw is currently living in an apartment above Newton’s Atlanta restaurant, Fellaship. She even spent her New Year’s Eve in the restaurant, where Newton was also in attendance.

There are mixed reports on whether Newton and Shaw are currently in a relationship.

It also has not been confirmed that Newton and Proctor have split. However, they have not been seen in public or on social media together since October, shortly after their son Cashmere Saint was born.

Newton and Proctor began dating in 2013 and have four children together.

Just last month, a video resurfaced of Newton telling his teammates earlier in the football season that he was never getting married.

Boosie Says He Did NOT Beat Up George Zimmerman at Miami Walmart: I Don’t Even Know That Man!

Boosie Badazz wants you to know that he did NOT “beat up” George Zimmerman … and he has no idea where that fake news story even came from because he’s never even met the guy!

The rapper took to Instagram to deny a social media rumor that spread like wildfire saying that he and Zimmerman recently got into an altercation at a Walmart in Florida.

According to the rumor, which has been denounced as fake news, Boosie was said to have confronted the man who got away with murdering a black teenager outside a Miami-area Walmart and said to him: “Hey, you that fat a** n***a who killed Trayvon?!”

The fake news story, originally posted on social media January 13th from Instagram blog MyMixTapez (known for their faux news stories) posted a side-by-side photo of Boosie and Zimmerman with the caption:

“It’s being reported that Boosie saw Zimmerman outside of a Miami Walmart. According to witnesses, Boosie saw Zimmerman and said, ‘Hey, you that fat a** n***a who killed Trayvon right?’ Boosie violently approached Zimmerman. Zimmerman appeared to be ‘reaching for his gun,’ according to witnesses.

“Although, Zimmerman is being hospitalized, Boosie suffered injuries as well, including a busted lip and nose. Boosie is currently in custody and will appear before a judge on assault charges this week.”

As the news spread all over social media (with some of the less credible blog sites picking it up), Boosie posted a video on Instagram denying that the story was real.

Boosie said in part: “Aye, service announcement from Boosie. I never seen George in my life, but on TV. This is a lie. Leave me alone! I never seen George Zimmerman in my life. George don’t know me. Talkin’ ’bout I did something to him in Walmart. That is a lie!”

Boosie then plugged his new spicy chicken flavor of Master P’s Rap Noodles that will be available at Walmart starting this Friday (Jan. 17).

“Let’s talk the truth,” he said. “My noodles drop at Walmart Friday … the best noodles you’ve ever tasted in the world.”

In 2013, 36-year-old George Zimmerman was acquitted of the 2012 killing of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.

Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, said he’d been attacked by Martin and was simply defending himself when he shot and killed the 17-year-old in a gated community in Sanford, Florida in February 2012.

While the story of Boosie opening a can of whoop-ass on Zimmerman is beyond fake, what’s real is the fact that Zimmerman recently made headlines after he filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit last month against Trayvon Martin’s family, their attorneys, prosecutors and the state of Florida on allegations that the prosecution’s key witness in his 2013 murder trial was “fake.”

Zimmerman’s lawsuit also names HarperCollins Publishers, accusing them of defamation in a book Martin’s family’s attorney Benjamin Crump published in October 2019 called Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People.

According to the lawsuit, the book was published “with actual malice knowing the untruth or at a minimum a reckless disregard for the truth,” and its title “creates the false implication that Plaintiff Zimmerman participated and participates in the genocide of colored people.”

Yung Joc Says He’s Driving for Rideshare Company Pull Up N Go to “Lead By Example” for the Next Generation

Earlier this week, rapper and Love & Hip-Hop star Yung Joc went viral after being spotted driving for a rideshare company in Atlanta, but he’s not doing it for the reason you may think.

While sporting his Pull Up N Go hat and with a passenger in the backseat, Joc explained to TMZ that he’s been working with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization for several years and recently chose to drive for the rideshare company in order to “lead by example” for the younger generation.

“A lot of times when we talking to these kids you gotta lead by example,” he said. “You have to show people you not too big.”

“You have to show them what humility is and you not too big to do the right thing by making an honest living. I think a lot of times that’s why our kids, and even adults, go astray because they’re too ashamed, too prideful to do something.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8aPb7RiJZs

The internet immediately thought Joc had fallen on hard times when the driving video went viral.

But he tells TMZ the gig was initially something to check off his bucket list, and he has been surprised by the amount of support he’s received.

“The most phenomenal part of this whole experience of going viral is the amount of support…A lot of celebrities have reached out. People hitting my phone. Snoop said something like, ‘hustlers hustle.’ I just realized that maybe people are beginning to be a little more mature.”

He also made it clear that he’s definitely not hard up for cash. He’s a radio personality in Atlanta, stars on Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta, and just opened up another club.

Joc didn’t state how long he’d be driving for Pull Up N Go, so if you’re in the Atlanta area, catch a ride before it’s too late.

Lori Harvey Facing 1 Year in Prison in Hit & Run Case, Doesn’t Seem Bothered While Getting Very Close With Future

Lori Harvey’s birthday weekend did not end the way she planned. The freshly turned 23-year-old is now facing a year-long stint in jail due to her hit and run accident last year.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office confirmed on Monday (Jan. 13) that Harvey has been charged with two misdemeanors: One count of resisting, delaying, obstructing an officer and one count of hit and run resulting in property damage.

Harvey has an arraignment scheduled on January 21st. If convicted of the charges, she could be sentenced up to one year behind bars.

The charges are related to a car accident Harvey had in Los Angeles last October. She hit a parked car which left her Mercedes G-Wagon on its side.

Harvey attempted to flee the scene, but was caught by the police as she walked down the street a short distance from the accident.

Though alcohol wasn’t involved, witnesses said they saw Harvey texting before the crash. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Harvey has not commented on the charges.

However, she does continue to fuel speculation she’s dating Future.

R. Kelly’s Ex Azriel Clary Seeking Therapy, Shares Joyous Reunion With Family: “Let the Healing Process Begin”

Azriel Clary has reunited with her family and they couldn’t be happier.

R. Kelly’s former live-in girlfriend shared several photos with her parents and family on social media on Monday (Jan. 13). The matching outfits, dancing, and big smiles on everyone’s faces speak for themselves.

“Surprise. Let the healing process begin,” she captioned the photo series.

Azriel thanked all of her supporters in the post’s caption and even gave her  family a shoutout, asking her followers to follow them as well.

“Love yall and thank y’all. I even thank everyone who follows me.. because you all believed in me when I could not believe for myself,” she wrote.

The 22-year-old left home to live with Kelly when she was just 17. Her parents, Angelo and Alice Clary, tried to reach her, but Azriel had cut off contact—until now. They are overjoyed to have her back.

“We are just enjoying these moments right now … enjoying being reunited as the Clarys,” Angelo told TMZ.

TMZ is also reporting that Azriel will be seeking professional help to recover from the alleged abuse and trauma she suffered while living with Kelly.

Sources tell the site Azriel feels she was “brainwashed, manipulated and mistreated by Kelly.” Her parents are now helping her look for qualified therapists and counselors to help heal.

“I never thought me and victim would ever be in the same sentence because I was too in denial.. but once you realize, you realize,” Azriel said last week.

Azriel’s reunion with her family and her decision to seek treatment comes days after she got into a physical fight with Kelly’s other girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage.

The fight was caught on video and Azriel was overheard accusing Savage of having sex with her when she was a minor.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o64anf6RY7M

Savage was charged with battery.

Sources say Azriel is contemplating cooperating with the federal cases against Kelly, but has some trepidation because she’s repeatedly lied to the feds and has signed NDAs with Kelly.

Teen Obsessed With Social Media Kills Herself After Not Getting Enough Likes & Followers

A British teenager with an unhealthy addiction to social media took her own life after she was unable to gain a sizable following or get enough likes on her posts.

According to news reports, 19-year-old Chloe Davison was taking selfies and was active on social media just moments before she was found dead in her bedroom after hanging herself.

Davison’s 20-year-old sister Jade, who recently got engaged and gave birth to her first child, said Davison struggled with social anxiety and believes social media played a “big part” in her sister’s tragic death.

“I’m absolutely devastated. I don’t even have the words to describe the pain. I’ve recently just had a baby, only nine weeks ago, which Chloe adored. Chloe was my best friend and I don’t know what I’m going to do without her,” Jade said, according to the UK newspaper The Sun.

Jade said her sister was an aspiring model who, unfortunately, relied way too heavily on social media to feel good about herself.

Jade added:

“Chloe was the type of person who, if she put a picture on Facebook, would ask the whole family to like her picture or would sit with me and ask which one I thought was the best before she would post it.

“She thought she wasn’t good enough unless she was getting likes and comments. If she didn’t get enough likes, she didn’t feel accepted.

“Social media isn’t 100 percent the cause [for her death] but it was a big part because it’s too easy for people to sit behind a phone or computer and send nasty messages with no consequences.

“I sat with Chloe many nights when she was crying because someone had said something horrible. Chloe didn’t see what we saw. She was so beautiful inside and out and would have done absolutely anything for me, her baby niece and the rest of her family.”

After Chloe started using social media several years ago, “all she would talk about was how many likes she got,” her mom, 44-year-old Clair Reynolds, said.

Chloe Davison pictured with her sister, Jade (L) and her mother, Claire Reynolds (R)

“She was addicted to apps like Instagram and Snapchat,” said family friend Nick Coombs, 55, who’d known Chloe since she was young.

“She would spend hours taking the perfect photo, but would delete it later if it didn’t get popular enough,” Coombs added.

Those close to Chloe said she struggled socially at school, typically keeping to herself and rarely hanging out with friends.

As a result of her self-imposed isolation, Chloe was often bullied online by internet trolls who would send her nasty messages and make fun of her pictures.

When Jade and her mother returned home the night of Friday, January 3rd around 11:30 p.m., after spending the evening at a bar, they found Chloe hanging in her bedroom.

“When we took her body down, her hair and makeup were still perfect,” said Coombs, who was at the house when Chloe was found dead. “She was wearing some new lingerie that she’d been excited to model.”

Coombs also said that too many people felt as though they could say whatever they wanted to Chloe because it wasn’t face-to-face.

“She’d get hundreds of messages each day, mostly men asking her for sexual stuff,” said Coombs. “Sometimes they were nice, but other times they told Chloe they wanted to hurt her.”

Clair Reynolds, Chloe’s mom, blames social media for what happened to her daughter.

“Social media took over Chloe’s life, whether that be Snapchat or Facebook.”

Reynolds added: “Chloe was beautiful, but she didn’t see that. She cared too much about how other people saw her.”

Trick Daddy’s Horrifying Mugshot is Because of His Lupus, Rapper Slams Social Media for Making Fun of Him

When Trick Daddy was arrested Saturday morning (Jan. 11) for DUI and cocaine possession, everyone who saw his mugshot had the same exact question: WTF WAS UP WITH HIS FACE & HAIRLINE?!

Well, apparently, it’s the result of an incurable illness he suffers from called Lupus.

According to Healthline:

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that causes fatigue, joint pain, joint stiffness, and a butterfly-shaped rash on the face. In addition, some people with lupus experience hair loss.

Not everyone with lupus experiences hair loss. But many people living with this condition notice gradual thinning or breakage along their hairline. Sometimes the hair grows back, and sometimes it doesn’t.

In Trick Daddy’s case, his Lupus has caused his face to appear “swollen” or “fat,” and it’s also caused him to lose the hair along his hairline.

Trick bonded himself out of jail Saturday and was spotted at his Miami restaurant the following Sunday interacting with fans.

After spending the weekend as the butt of many jokes on social media and the face of countless memes, the rapper took to his verified Facebook page to share a post he wrote on his personal page the day of his arrest calling out internet bullies for making fun of his illness.

https://www.facebook.com/gossiponthis/posts/10157977031517300

“Let me get this right .. you lie on me .. make fun of the fact that I Have lupus … and all this just for likes,” the 45-year-old rapper (real name: Maurice Young) said.

“Thank God I’m strong .. everything is funny until it hits close to home .. my feelings don’t hurt easily I’m too worried about waking up tomorrow”

Justin Bieber Congratulates Roddy Ricch After “The Box” Beats “Yummy” to #1 on Billboard Hot 100

Billboard confirmed Monday (Jan. 13) that Roddy Ricch’s new single “The Box” is officially the No. 1 song in the country!

Which is already great news in and of itself, but even more impressive is the fact that it beat Justin Bieber’s new single “Yummy,” despite facing stiff competition against the Beliebers.

Following the news, Justin Bieber took to Twitter to congratulate Roddy on his first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single.

“Thanks everyone. So thankful. #yummy,” Bieber tweeted. “@RoddyRicch You had to go and make a banger smh! Haha ur the man!! Love the song!! congrats on your first #1!! Everyone go stream #thebox.”

“Yummy” serves as Justin Bieber’s first single since his hiatus. And the pop star has been doing the absolute MOST to promote the song … including begging his fans to constantly stream it, and suggesting fans in other countries use VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) while streaming so that their plays count towards Billboard’s tally in the U.S.

Roddy even got in on the friendly competition, tweeting on Saturday (Jan. 11): “stream yummy by justin bieber.” (Ed. Note: FWIW, Justin Bieber has more than 100M followers on Twitter, while Roddy currently has just over 650K.)

The massive momentum “The Box” gained was mostly due to the fact that fans on social video platforms like TikTok and Triller have been making countless memes.

“The Box” also blocked “Yummy” from reaching No. 1 on Spotify’s U.S. top 50 chart earlier this month, which was perhaps a precursor of things to come.

The news follows another major accomplishment for Roddy, whose debut album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial just landed back in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the first debut rap album to return to No. 1 in nearly two decades, according to XXL.

WATCH: Young Joc Spotted Driving for Uber-Like Rideshare App in Atlanta, Fan Tells Him “You Must’ve Fell Off”

Is Yung Joc broke? That’s a question fans are asking after the rapper was recently spotted driving for a rideshare service similar to Uber and Lyft.

Video footage surfaced late Sunday afternoon (Jan. 12) showing the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star behind the wheel of a Nissan.

In the video, which, according to The Shade Room, was filmed on Thursday (Jan. 9), passengers in the vehicle instantly recognized Joc and questioned him about why he was driving around people for money, while also telling him that he looked and sounded familiar.

“You sound like somebody I know,” one of the passengers said.

“I just wanna ask a question. Are you Young Joc?” Can you turn around?” the other passenger asked.

“I think y’all already put that part together,” Joc said as he pulled back his hoodie.

After Joc finally reveals/confirms his identity, one of the passengers, named J’Koni, tells him: “Oh, so you must’ve fell off or something.”

Joc also admitted that he had been driving people around for about 30 to 40 days now, to which both passengers clowned him about being a celebrity who has to make ends meet by working for a rideshare app.

“How you Young Joc and you [driving] for PullUpnGo?” J’Koni said to him, condescendingly.

Joc, appearing to take a little offense to J’Koni’s statement, went on to say that it’s an easy way for him to get easy money, and he gets to meet a lot of new people in the process.

“I gotta fall off? I just felt like it was an easy way to get some easy money downtown. I meet people.”

For what it’s worth, the whole thing sounds like a huge publicity stunt that obviously worked because here we are.

Also, let’s not forget that Yung Joc is a whole reality show star out here, and Love & Hip Hop Atlanta is probably already filming for their next season.

So it’s safe to say Yung Joc is far from broke. In fact, he’s probably being paid  big bucks to do this.

Black Woman With Chest Pain Died After Waiting in the ER for Almost 3 Hours

A Milwaukee woman suffering from chest pains and shortness of breath died while trying to find a doctor to help her, and now her family is searching for answers as to why she wasn’t seen sooner.

Tashonna Ward, a 25-year-old daycare worker, went to the emergency room of Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee and complained of having severe chest pains and trouble breathing.

She waited for over two hours in the ER before leaving to find faster help and, not long afterward, collapsed and died.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t determined an official cause of death, and its report doesn’t state whether Ward was admitted or seen by a doctor at Froedtert before she left.

Ward’s family said she was kept in the waiting room of the ER and wasn’t under any monitoring when she decided to leave.

“How can you triage someone with shortness of breath and chest pain and stick them in the lobby?” said Ward’s cousin, Andrea Ward. “Froedtert needs to change their policy.”

According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s report, Ward started having chest pain and trouble breathing while she was working on the afternoon of Thursday, January 2nd at L&M Links child care center. Her sister drove her to the hospital, where they checked in just before 5 p.m., the report states.

Hospital staff checked Ward’s heartbeat with an electrocardiogram, and it appeared normal, according to the report. An x-ray of her chest revealed that she suffered from cardiomegaly: an enlarged heart.

This wasn’t the first time Ward had heard this. Back in March, when her baby died after the umbilical cord wrapped around its neck, Ward was told she’d developed an enlarged heart during the pregnancy, according to the medical examiner’s report.

The report didn’t state whether Ward retained an enlarged heart after the pregnancy, or if it was the result of a recent flare-up.

Cardiomegaly can be both temporary or permanent, and in either case, it can put people at a much greater risk for blood clots, cardiac arrest and other serious heart problems.

After the tests, Ward’s family said she was asked to remain in the waiting room until she could be admitted and seen by a doctor.

Ward posted on Facebook at 5:45 p.m.: “I really hope I’m not in this emergency room all night.”

https://www.facebook.com/LachellesupunfaithfulWard/posts/10219024290176014

About 10 minutes later, her mother called to check on her, and she told her that she’d been given tests, was waiting to see a doctor, and had gone back to the front desk multiple times asking to be seen.

She texted her family at 6:35 p.m. and said that she was still in the waiting room.

An hour after that, she wrote on Facebook that she’d been told that she might have to wait anywhere between two and six hours before she would be able to see a doctor.

“Idk what they can do about the emergency system at freodert (sic) but they damn sure need to do something,” Ward wrote. “I been here since 4:30 something for shortness of breath, and chest pains for them to just say it’s a two to SIX hour wait to see a dr.”

https://www.facebook.com/LachellesupunfaithfulWard/posts/10219024600743778

https://www.facebook.com/LachellesupunfaithfulWard/posts/10219025048234965

Not long afterward, Ward left Froedtert Hospital’s ER because she felt she’d been waiting too long and decided to go to an urgent care clinic. According to the medical examiner’s report, it had been about two-and-a-half hours since she arrived at Froedtert.

The ME’s report states that at 8:39 p.m., a Froedtert staffer called Ward’s cellphone and her sister picked up, but by that point, Ward had collapsed and was already in an ambulance on her way back to Froedtert.

The ambulance arrived at 9:07 p.m., the report says. By then, Ward was unresponsive, and not long after, was pronounced dead.

Her cousin, Andrew Ward, said she found out what happened from her aunt (Ward’s mother), Yolanda.

“She called me and said, ‘My baby stopped breathing,'” Andrea told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “And I zoomed over. And she was swearing and she said she was just at the freaking hospital and they kept her waiting.”

Due to implicit bias in the American healthcare system, it’s said that women, especially black women, often go ignored and/or unseen, which can sometimes have fatal consequences, like in Tashonna Ward’s case.

Ward’s story has since gone viral on Facebook, where many people shared their own stories of waiting for several hours in emergency rooms.

“I went in with a massive headache and told them that I needed to see someone right away and they said it was ten ppl ahead [of] me,” Alexis Walton, also a black woman, wrote. “I said I couldn’t wait that long. I went home and came back at 5 am and I had a stroke.”

Andrea Ward said she was “shocked to see the comments” from others who have experienced treatment similar to her sister at ERs. “What that means is people don’t know how to advocate for themselves,” she said.

After reviewing the medical examiner’s reports at the request of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Martha Gulati, chief of cardiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, said patients with chest pain and trouble breathing—which are both classic symptoms of heart problems—should be seen by a doctor within minutes in order to determine the cause and to consider treatment options.

Gulati, whose studies focus on heart problems in women, said Ward’s story is “far too common” because the aforementioned symptoms are less likely to be taken seriously in women, especially younger women. (Ed. Note: And ESPECIALLY black women.)

“Sadly she chalks up to another statistic but she was somebody’s sister, somebody’s potential mother, somebody’s daughter,” Gulati said. “We need to start listening to women and taking them seriously.”

A Froedtert Hospital spokesperson released the following statement regarding Tashonna Ward’s death: “The family is in our thoughts and has our deepest sympathy. We cannot comment further at this time.”

Mugshot Madness: Trick Daddy Arrested for DUI & Cocaine Possession

Trick Daddy just put the “madness” in “mugshot madness” with his latest arrest and mugshot.

The Miami rapper, whose real name is Maurice Samuel Young, was busted early this morning for possession of cocaine and driving under the influence.

Per the arrest report (via the Miami Herald), a Miami-Dade officer responded to a report of a driver in a dark-colored Range Rover hitting signs and running red lights on the area of Southwest 128th Avenue and 42nd Street around 3:20 a.m.

When the officer approached the driver’s side, he noticed that the driver (Trick Daddy) “appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.”

After being awakened by a knock at the window, Trick told the officer he was on his way home after just dropping someone off following a night out at the club.

When asked if he’d had anything to drink that night, Trick said he’d had about five drinks hours ago.

The cops said they saw him with bloodshot eyes and using slurred speech, so they asked him to perform a series of field sobriety tests.

The rapper was then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

He refused to provide a breath sample once he got to the jail, police said, and upon searching his belongings, they found a dollar bill with what appeared to be cocaine residue on the inside.

At that point, he was booked for DUI and coke possession. His bond for the cocaine charge was $5,000 and another $1,000 for DUI.

As the Miami Herald notes, this is far from Trick Daddy’s first coke possession arrest.

He was arrested back in 2014 when police went to his house and found a gram of cocaine on his nightstand and a 9mm handgun under his pillow.

In that case, he was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, and driving with a suspended license.

He was also arrested way back in 1991 on a cocaine possession charge, as well as carrying a concealed firearm and violating probation, which caused him to serve more than two years in prison.

In 2003, he was arrested on assault charges for threatening to kill a man over a street basketball game.

Now, with all that being said … WTF IS GOING ON WITH HIS HAIRLINE IN THAT MUGSHOT?!?

Apryl Jones Confirms Breakup With Fizz: “My Focus is on My Children”

Just last month, we saw Apryl Jones take on the entire cast of Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood in defense of her relationship with Fizz. Now, she’s indirectly confirming their split.

Apryl stopped by Out Loud with Claudia Jordan on Friday (Jan. 10) for an exclusive interview. She had nothing to but kind words to say about Fizz, whose real name is Dreux Frédéric.

But when asked if they were still together, she hesitated and chose her words wisely.

“Dreux is a great man. His focus is on Kam, my focus is on my children and we are where we are. I kind of want to leave it there.”

Apryl seemed to still be processing the situation, and though it’s not an explicit confirmation of a split, she clearly didn’t deny the rumors.

Rumors began to spread earlier this week that Apryl and Fizz had quietly broken up. The rumor was sparked after a fan realized that the couple no longer followed each other on social media, and neither had posted a photo of them together since November.

Despite the complicated relationship status, Apryl didn’t say anything negative about Fizz and thanked him for being a strong support system during a difficult time in her personal life.

She also resented accusations that she broke B2K and was the sole reason a second reunion tour fell apart.

“The group was broken up before I came into the picture,” she said. “The group was already done … so I couldn’t have broken up anything that really wasn’t going to be again.”

Fizz has yet to comment on the rumors or where his relationship with Apryl currently stands.

Azriel Clary Ready to Flip on R. Kelly & Expose All the Secrets, But Terrified to Talk to Feds

Days after a heated confrontation that left Joycelyn Savage facing battery charges, R. Kelly’s once-loyal girlfriend, Azriel Clary, is back in contact with her family and even considering helping the feds in their cases against Kelly.

Clary, 22, recently moved out of Kelly’s Trump Tower condo she shared with Savage in Chicago. And now that she is slowly excommunicating herself from Kelly’s circle, it’s being reported that she wants to cooperate with law enforcement, but fears the repercussions.

Sources tell TMZ that Clary has recently “come to a realization that Kelly played mind games and manipulated her.”

As Kelly sits in jail awaiting trial for alleged sexual misconduct with underage girls, Clary wants to help with the case, but she’s hesitant because she has given several false statements to federal agents on Kelly’s behalf.

Clary has also signed NDA agreements with Kelly and is scared that he and his legal team will come after for turning against him.

During the fight with Savage—which was caught on Clary’s Instagram Live—Clary accused both Savage and Kelly of having sex with her when she was a minor. She told Savage that she was going to jail because of it.

In separate parts of the video, she also claimed that Kelly had been lying to the public about his innocence and said that he often had her and Savage to lie for him as well, including during the explosive interview with Gayle King.

TMZ reports that federal agents are not currently involved in the battery case between Clary and Savage, but agents may interview Clary if deemed necessary.

As of now, Clary is back in contact with her family.

“The battle is won because she’s still here, she’s still alive, she’s still breathing and though she lost a few years of her life, she’s still here to tell her story,” Azriel’s mother, Alice Clary, told People magazine.

“Because I chose not to keep her secluded in her life, she’s here now and we’re able to say the victory is won because she finally came to her senses,” Alice added.

Drake & Future Are the Littiest Blue Collar Workers Ever in “Life is Good” Video

Fans have been looking for new music from Drizzy and Few-cha as a collective for some time now, ever since they let us all witness the greatness that was What A Time To Be Alive, and now it looks like we’ll get to relive that era all over again.

On Friday (Jan. 10), Drake and Future released a new single and an accompanying music video called “Life Is Good.”

The video sees the duo working various odd jobs, including “Apple” store employees, garbage collectors, fast food workers, mechanics, pastry chefs, and IT workers.

The middle of the video also features a hilarious skit, in which Drake and Future are taking a quick smoke break at their fast food job and discussing things they want to do outside of work.

”You can’t spit,” Drake tells Future after the latter informs the former that he wants to become a big rapper. “I got bars fool,” Future tells Drake before asking him to help him direct his music video.

If you watch closely, you’ll also quick cameos from folks like Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Mike WiLL Made It, and others.

If rap somehow never worked out for Drake and Future, they would probably be great coworkers. Possibly, the littiest blue collar workers ever.

I would like to work with Drake and Future. Wouldn’t you like to work with Drake and Future?

“Life is Good” is likely the first single from the duo’s WATTBA follow-up, which should be released soon.

Lil Baby Ain’t Tryna Have No Babies (Right Now), Advocates for Safe Sex in “Sum 2 Prove”

Lil Baby’s name might be Lil Baby, but he ain’t trying to have no babies. At least not right now.

The rapper and father of at least one (possibly two) babies comes through on a promise of releasing another single from his highly anticipated sophomore album My Turn by dropping “Sum 2 Prove” Friday morning at the stroke of midnight.

Right off the bat, Lil Baby is letting you hoes know he’s keeping his “lil babies” (i.e. his semen/sperm, in case you didn’t catch the reference) to himself.

And in order to do that, he’s making sure that he’s using condoms. Safe sex for the win!

“You know they say that’s my nigga, I made him a millionaire / Now, fuck it, we?all?rich / I ain’t tryna?have babies right now, so we?fuck with the rubber / But I got a raw bitch.”

“Sum 2 Prove” serves as the follow-up single to “Woah.”

Both songs will appear on My Turn, which now has an album cover but still no release date. Lil Baby says it will be out sometime this year, so patience seems like a pretty necessary asset at the moment.

21-Year-Old Mom of 2 Shot in the Head & Killed by Baby Daddy’s Girlfriend During Gas Station Fight in Washington, D.C.

A tragic shooting in Washington D.C. has left two young girls without a mother.

21-year-old Tia Carey was shot twice—at least once in the head—outside of a gas station on Monday (Jan. 6). Carey was transported to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Tierra Posey, also 21, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

According to witnesses and a released affidavit of the shooting, Carey had just picked up her 5-year-old daughter from school and had her 2-month old daughter in the car when she requested the person she was riding with to pull over at the gas station.

Carey had seen the father of one of her children at the pump and confronted him. His current girlfriend (Posey) was sitting in the passenger seat of his car and the two began to verbally argue.

Carey forced her way into that car and allegedly spit on and hit Posey. Posey exited the car and they began to physically fight, while the boyfriend/baby daddy attempted to separate them.

He was able to pull Carey back, which Posey took as the opportunity to retrieve a handgun from the car. She fired two shots.

Video of the altercation has been posted online. While only audio of the shooting is heard, be warned the footage is still disturbing and triggering.

Posey tried to flee the scene in her boyfriend’s car, but witnesses physically sat on her to prevent her from leaving before police arrived. Posey was arrested on the scene.

After the shooting, a witness noted that they overheard Posey say she “didn’t mean to do it.”

Meanwhile, the boyfriend fled in the car that Carey had arrived in at the gas station with four minors in the vehicle, one being his own child. Witnesses assumed this was to take the children away from the murder scene.

Carey’s mother, Demaris Carey, is mourning the loss of her daughter and now raising her two grandchildren.

“She was only 21. So young. She didn’t even get to see her baby grow up,” Demaris told NBC News 4.

Demaris says the shooting was senseless violence.

“Senseless violence. I mean, you know, we encountered things every day… situations, but this was just an act of senseless violence.”

Mom of Atatiana Jefferson, Woman Killed by Dallas Cop in Her Own Home, Dies 2 Months After Jefferson’s Dad

Yolanda Carr—the mother of Atatiana Jefferson, the Texas woman who was shot and killed by a Dallas-Fort Worth area police officer in her own home last October—has died.

Lee Merritt, an attorney and social justice activist representing Jefferson’s family, confirmed the sad news in a statement on Twitter Thursday afternoon (Jan. 9), saying that Carr passed away in her home. She was 55 years old.

Yolanda Carr’s death comes just two months after the death of Atatiana’s father, 58-year-old Marquis Jefferson, who passed away on November 9th, about two weeks after Jefferson’s funeral.

The Tarrant County medical examiner hasn’t released a cause of death for Carr, however, it is known that she was battling an illness.

Back in October when Atiana Jefferson was fatally shot, she had recently moved in to care for her sick mother.

Aaron Dean and another officer responded to a call from a neighbor for a wellness check around 2:30 a.m. on October 12th, 2019 because the doors to Jefferson’s mother’s home were open and the lights were on.

Jefferson was playing a video game with her 8-year-old nephew when police arrived, and was shot by Dean, who did not announce his presence at the home.

Bodycam footage showed Dean shooting through a window just seconds after yelling at Jefferson to put her hands up.

Jefferson’s nephew later told officials that his aunt had grabbed a handgun and pointed it towards the window because she’d heard noises coming from outside.

Dean resigned from the police department just two days later, on October 14th, and was arrested and charged with murder the same day. He was indicted on that charge by a grand jury in December.

Carr wasn’t able to attend Jefferson’s funeral, but she did write a tribute for her daughter that was read during the services.

“Like everyone in life, your path was filled with joy and pain,” Carr wrote. “However, you balanced the two with grace, faith, confidence and competence. You often said you were going to change the world, which I believe you still will.”

Family attorney Lee Merritt said the last few months have been incredibly difficult for the family, who has gone “from one tragedy to the next.”

Merritt refused to speculate on Carr’s exact cause of death, however, he did mention that things like this tend to happen with families of victims of police shooting.

“Unfortunately, as a civil-rights attorney dealing with wrongful death, I see this often where families have medical issues usually related to the trauma experienced due to police brutality,” he told the Dallas Morning News.

Merritt also said that the recent holiday season was particularly rough for Jefferson’s family, especially Carr. “She lost her support system when Atatiana was killed,” he said.

R. Kelly Girlfriend Joycelyn Savage Charged with Domestic Battery After Fight With Azriel Clary

One of R. Kelly’s loyal girlfriends has turned herself in to authorities following a fight with another one of Kelly’s girlfriends.

Joycelyn Savage, 24, turned herself in at the Chicago Police Department late Wednesday night (Jan. 8). She was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic battery.

She will meet with a judge Thursday to learn the terms of her release will. Her next court date to face the charges is scheduled for February 6th.

Savage was charged after a physical altercation on Wednesday with Azriel Clary, 22, in the Trump Tower apartment they shared in Chicago until Clary recently moved out. The fight was captured on video via Clary’s Instagram Live session.

The verbal altercation turned physical and Savage hit Clary. Clary later told police that Savage punched her with a closed fist, hit her wither her phone, and attempted to kick her. They were separated by other people in the apartment.

Clary also repeatedly claimed that Savage was going to jail for the assault as well as for having sex with her when she was underage—the same crime and charges currently against Kelly.

Savage fled the scene before police arrived. Clary was taken to a hospital and treated for redness and swelling of her left eye.

In Atlanta, TMZ briefly spoke with Savage’s parents, who have been desperately trying to get her to leave Kelly’s circle for years.

“We just have to keep praying,” her father, Timothy, said of the situation. He added that they are going to contact their attorney to see what legal action can be taken.

Mr. Savage noted that the video of the altercation—which only captured audio—was “sketchy.” However, he continued to blame Kelly for his daughter’s predicament.

“None of us want this to happen,” Mr. Savage said. “We should always blame it on the predator himself, R. Kelly.”

He also revealed that they have still have had no contact with their daughter, who has been refusing to speak with them.
