Bow Wow tragically overstepped his boundaries while interacting with 50 Cent on Instagram and instantly became the latest target of The Petty King’s infamous social media trolling.

Early Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 6), 50 Cent posted this photo on Instagram of himself sitting in a bubble bath. “No caption necessary,” he wrote.

Trey Songz responded in the comments, joking: “Damn 5, gon make a ni**a block you mane.”

50 Cent joked back: “No @treysongz you can’t have all the b**ches fool. LMAO TYCOON weekend we gone go crazy in NY.”

Then Bow Wow hopped into the mix, responding to Trey Songz’ comment with the crying laughing emoji.

50 replied, telling Trey not to bring Bow Wow to his Power premiere concert in Madison Square Garden later this month.

“Hey @treysongz don’t be bringing this ni**a to the [parties] man,” 50 wrote about Bow Wow. “This lil ni**a crazy, playing wit the money.”

Bow Wow clapped back in the comments: “Bro out here thirst trapping to get girls to show up at the party. Ima be in London anyway. Yall gone be on a boat with all my old work. Good luck.”

Doctors in Tampa Have Developed a Cancer Vaccine and Will Begin Clinical Trials Soon

A Tampa-based company has reportedly developed a cancer vaccine that is designed to target specific parts of the disease in patients, bringing us one huge step closer to an overall cure.

Morphogenesis says their mission is “to change the way chronic diseases are treated by engaging the innate intelligence of the body,” and they’re starting with skin cancer.

“This is a therapeutic cancer vaccine, so it’s not preventative that we normally think of for an infectious disease. So this is actually a therapy to treat many different types of cancer,” Morphogenesis CEO Patricia Lawman told Tampa’s WFLA News Channel 8.

As for how the vaccine works, Lawman explained:

“So basically we’re taking all of the smarts of the immune system, of the body, and bringing it to bear on a person’s tumor. So what we do is basically put a bacterial gene, it’s not a bacteria, it’s not a live bacteria, it’s a single gene that we put into a patient’s tumor cells.

“This is expressed as a protein on the surface of the tumor cells, like a beacon, if you will, and it brings in the immune system. And once the immune system sees our bacterial beacon it can then expose all of the patient’s tumor antigens that are in that person’’ tumor.”

Morphogenesis says the vaccine is still a few years away from being made available to the public and will first need to go through clinical trials, which are coming soon.

“So we’re starting out small. First in-human is six patients. This will be testing our vaccine alone in melanoma. And then our next study will be…that will be 20 patients testing our vaccine alone,” Lawman said. “And starting next year we’ll be having a phase two study which will be then 160 patients and we’ll be testing all three of those diseases, our vaccine plus probably a checkpoint inhibitor.”

Lawman said companion animals with naturally-occurring diseases were successfully treated with the vaccine. “So we’re confident that the safety profile of this vaccine will carry over into humans,” she said.

Innocent Bystander Shot at Walmart in Baton Rouge, Louisiana During Fight Between Two Other Men

An argument between two men at a Walmart in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Tuesday (Aug. 6) escalated into a shooting that left an innocent bystander injured.

According to Baton Rouge’s WAFB News, the shooting happened around 11:45 a.m.

Deputies with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office arrested one suspect, but the other fled the scene in a light-colored sedan and is still at large.

The suspect on the run is described as a thin black male with a slight build and he was wearing shorts and a black shirt with a short haircut.

East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid J. Gautreaux said a dispute between the two suspects erupted to the point where they both pulled guns on each other. Authorities were able to recover one of the handguns.

“I want to let everybody know that this was not an active shooter,” Gautreaux said in a news conference at the crime scene. “Thank God this was nothing like anywhere near what they faced in El Paso or anything like this.”

Officials said the man who was shot was in line buying a lunchbox.

“It’s unfortunate that the one subject got struck,” Gautreaux said. “He was an innocent shopper at the store. He was standing in the line.”

When Lois Oglesby was shot in the head during the massacre in Dayton, Ohio, the first thing she did was call the father of her children. It was also tragically the last thing she did because she died not long after.

27-year-old Lois Oglesby, who went by the nickname “Lola,” was among the nine victims shot and killed after gunman Conner Betts opened fire on innocent people in downtown Dayton early Sunday morning (Aug. 4) just after 1 a.m.

Betts, who also killed his own sister and injured her boyfriend, was shot dead by police just seconds after his first shot was fired.

Oglesby’s partner and her children’s father, Daryl Lee, shared on Facebook that she called him on FaceTime just moments after taking a bullet to the head.

“She FaceTimed me and said ‘Babe I just got shot in my head, I need to get to my kids,” he recalled, marveling at his girlfriend’s strength.

“Like that’s strong as f**k to hold off to call me,” he added. “She was letting me know she loved me and to take care of these kids… I got you babe. I can’t stop crying.”

Lois Oglesby had just given birth two months ago when she was killed. She leaves behind her newborn daughter Reign and a 6-year-old daughter named Hannah.

Oglesby worked at a children’s daycare center, was in nursing school and was looking forward to a career that would make the most of her love of kids, her cousin Derasha Merrett said.

Merrett told the Dayton Daily News she was feeding her own newborn when a friend called her at 3 a.m. Sunday morning crying, telling her that Oglesby had died in the Dayton shooting.

“She was a wonderful mother, a wonderful person,” Merrett said. “I have cried so much, I can’t cry anymore.”

Merrett said she and her cousin grew up together. They went to the same church and were also on the same drill team in high school.

“We all grew up in this little town,” Merrett said. “We’re all family.”

The Miami Valley Community Action Partnership, which is where Oglesby’s mother works, has established a fundraiser on Facebook to help cover Oglesby’s funeral costs and to support her children.

Mariah Carey Wrote & Performed Theme Song for New “black-ish” Spin-Off “mixed-ish”

Mixed-ish, the second spin-off to black-ish, is set to premiere next month and it’s already got one superstar fan: Mariah Carey!

The show is about black-ish character Rainbow Johnson’s experience as a biracial child in the 80s. Identifying with the show, Mariah has announced that she has written and performs the show’s theme song entitled “In the Mix.”

“As a biracial woman in the entertainment industry, there was no way I did not want to be a part of mixed-ish, especially after seeing the pilot, which I loved,” Mariah said in a statement. “I could not be more honored and proud to be writing and performing ‘In the Mix’ for Kenya [Barris] and the show.”

Mariah stated that she is also a fan of black-ish and grown-ish. She felt inspired and personally reached out to creator Kenya Barris to discuss how she be part of Mixed-ish when she learned of the spin-off.

Toni Morrison, “Beloved” Author and Nobel Prize Winner, Dies at 88

Toni Morrison, a critically acclaimed novelist and the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature, has died, according to a number of confirmed media reports. She was 88 years old.

Morris—known for her unique literary voice in novels such as Beloved, Song of Solomon, Sula and The Bluest Eye—died Monday (Aug. 5) in New York following a short illness, her family and publisher said.

Morrison’s family issued the following statement via her publisher:

“It is with profound sadness we share that, following a short illness, our adored mother and grandmother, Toni Morrison, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by family and friends.

“She was an extremely devoted mother, grandmother and aunt who reveled in being with her family and friends. The consummate writer who treasured the written word, whether her own, her students or others, she read voraciously and was most at home when writing.

Although her passing represents a tremendous loss, we are grateful she had a long, well lived life.”

The Morrison family also asked for privacy as they “mourn this loss to our family” and said they will “share information in the near future about how we will celebrate Toni’s incredible life.”

Morrison’s 1987 novel, Beloved, is probably her most famous work.

Set after the American Civil War, the book is inspired by the story of an African-American slave, Margaret Garner, who escaped slavery in Kentucky in 1856 by fleeing to Ohio, a free state.

The novel won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 and was a finalist for the National Book Award in 1987.

It was adapted into a movie of the same name starring Oprah Winfrey in 1998, and a NY Times survey of writers and literary critics ranked it the best work of American fiction from 1981 to 2006.

Pregnant Yung Miami of City Girls Shot At While Driving Away From Miami Recording Studio

Yung Miami has survived a very frightening experience. The rapper was apparently shot at while driving her new red G Wagon Mercedes.

The pregnant City Girls rapper—whose real name is Caresha Brownlee—was leaving a studio session at Circle House Studios late Monday night (Aug. 5) in Miami when the shooting took place.

Though there are few details at the moment, a witness posted video footage from the scene on Instagram. Police lights and Yung Miami’s car can be seen.

“I Got The Story First Because I Was Standing Right There,” the witness wrote in the caption. They continued:

“Caresha New G Wagon Was Shot At Leaving Circle House.. YALL Need To Give Her Better Security! Poor Baby Was Running Across The Street Tryna Run B4 Police Came”

In another video, Caresha is heard giving details to the police.

“I don’t know where they came from,” she said of the bullets. However, she believes they originated from behind her car.

The shooting happened barely a week after rapper Kodak Black threatened to punch a pregnant Yung Miami in a freestyle. He faced heavy backlash for the disturbing lyrics.

Yung Miami is currently several months pregnant with her second child. We certainly hope she is OK after this horrifying experience.

R. Kelly Charged With Sex Crimes in Minnesota for Allegedly Molesting Teen & Paying Her $200

R. Kelly has been hit with two more sex crime charges, this time in Minnesota, where the disgraced singer allegedly paid a young girl to have sexual contact with him in his hotel room.

Prosecutors say the alleged incident happened on July 11th, 2001 in Minneapolis, and the alleged victim was between the ages of 16 and 17.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman, whose name hasn’t been released, says she first met Kelly when she approached him for an autograph after a concert. The woman said in addition to his signature, Kelly also gave her his phone number.

After calling the number, the girl was invited to Kelly’s hotel room, where she was offered $200 to “dance” for the singer, the complaint said.

Kelly then helped the girl remove her clothing and “took his clothes off as well,” the complaint stated.

As the teen danced over him in his bed, Kelly touched her over her body, including her vagina and her breasts, the complaint alleged.

When it was over, the girl said Kelly gave her tickets to an 18+ concert and put her on the VIP list so that she could watch the show very close to the stage. The woman’s testimony was corroborated by her brother.

Police in Minnesota were first alerted to the alleged incident in January 2019, when the woman called a law enforcement hotline, according to the criminal complaint.

Prosecutors are charging Kelly with two sex crimes: engaging in prostitution with a person under the age of 18, and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact.

R. Kelly—whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly—is currently in custody in New York, where he pleaded not guilty to five federal criminal charges including kidnapping and racketeering.

The troubled star is also facing child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice charges in Illinois federal court following a 13-count indictment. He’s also fighting 10 aggravated sexual abuse charges in Cook County, Illinois.

It’s unclear when Kelly will face these new charges in Minnesota, however, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said it will happen in due time.

“It is despicable that Mr. Kelly used his fame in order to prey on underage girls,” Freeman said in a news conference Monday.

“While there are more numerous charges in the Illinois and federal cases, we wanted to make sure that our victim here in Minneapolis also receives a measure of justice. We fully expect that at some future date, Mr. Kelly will have to account for his actions in Hennepin County.”

Lauryn Hill Shows Up Extremely Late to Concert in Scotland, Complains About Missing Son’s Birthday and Later Apologizes

At this point, no one should blame Lauryn Hill anymore when she shows up late to concerts, performs abbreviated sets and gets the house lights cut off on her.

The reclusive singer has been on this modus operandi for years. Lauryn Hill’s tardiness is so bad that it makes regular-ass CP time seem punctual.

And yet, somehow, promoters still feel confident in booking her and even more surprising, fans purchase tickets for concerts with her name on it expecting Lauryn to show up on time.

I should amend that: It’s only white folks who are getting got by Lauryn at this point because black folks been caught on to Lauryn’s little game.

Case in point: Over the weekend, Lauryn was slated to headline The Playground Festival in Glasgow in Scotland.

In typical Lauryn Hill fashion, she was an hour late. That meant she only had time to play a roughly 30-minute set before curfew was called and the festival was over. People, as you might expect, were pissed.

Apparently, while Lauryn was on stage, she whined to the crowd that they should be grateful she was even playing the concert because she was there instead of with her son, who was celebrating his 22nd birthday, according to Glasgow Live.

Uhm, so Lauryn didn’t know it was her son’s birthday when she booked the gig?

Also, he’s turning 22, not 2. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t need to celebrate his birthday with his mother in the late evening hours, as most 22-year-olds prefer to celebrate their birthdays at a bar or club or house party with their friends … not their parents.

After pissing a whole bunch of white Scottish people off, Lauryn took to her Facebook page to offer yet another apology as she promised to make it up to Glasgow fans.

“My sincere apologies Glasgow for the late show and shorter set,” she wrote. “I appreciate the energy and support I did receive from the great crowd, and the patience of the promoters.

“I hope to come back and make it up to the Glasgow audience. It is only with great respect and Love for my art and the audience that I take the stage every performance.”

She concluded: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Europe, the crowds have been great and incredibly receptive. I look forward to my upcoming shows in Poland, Italy, Denmark, and the UK. Again, thank you, and my sincerest apologies for that shorter set.”

Reginae Carter Dumps YFN Lucci After Cucumber Party: “I’ve Made Myself Look Like a Fool For This Man”

Social media users called Reginae Carter out for attending a cucumber-themed party after previously speaking out against the Cucumber Challenge, but she says she had a good reason for being there.

Reginae was among the many celebrities who attended a pool party Sunday (Aug. 4) hosted by Atlanta rapper Trouble. The party had a cucumber theme, and as you may have heard, things got really wild.

Alexis Skyy made headlines after a video was widely shared online showing her penetrating a woman with the vegetable before sticking it in the woman’s mouth and repeating the graphic sex act multiple times.

“I went to the party to spy on ray(lucci). Females, don’t act like you never did it,” she wrote. “But when I heard about the cucumber activities, I left. Tbh, I’ve made myself look like a fool for this man and I apologize for allowing you guys to see it.

She continued: “I’m young and still learning. Unfortunately, every move I make is publicized. I can’t control it. Imma try to be more private for now on. It’s hard because I’ve always been so open and honest. But I gotta learn how to deal with my problems alone and in private.”

Petty Tyrese Tries to Rain on The Rock’s Parade With Shady Post-and-Delete Instagram Assault

Y’all remember back in 2017 when Tyrese lost his whole damn mind on Instagram and had dramatic outbursts and cursed out The Rock for pursuing a spinoff?

Tyrese, didn’t, even though you’d think someone who claimed his erratic behavior was the by-product of stress and prescription drugs, would rather not shed a light on unflattering remarks he made about a beloved Hollywood star such as Dwayne Johnson, which have in turn made him pretty much persona non-grata.

So if you bought Tyrese’s “I wasn’t in my right state of mind” act, jokes on you because Tyrese remembers damn well what he said about The Rock and his Hobbs and Shaw spinoff from The Fast and the Furious film franchise and he used the movie’s first weekend box office receipts to gloat that he was “right” to go hard against it in the first place.

Because Tyrese probably has an agent who hopes to collect his percentage at some point in this lifetime, Tyrese’s original post was deleted from his Instagram account, but The Shade Room saves everything.

In the post, Tyrese shares a screenshot of a write-up from a Malaysian news site called Lowyat with a headline that reads: “Hobbs & Shaw Has Lowest Fast & Furious Box Office Opening Since Tokyo Drift.”

The caption that went along with the screenshot opened like this:

I have to show my respects for one thing…He tried……Folks called me a hater…And attacked me for speaking out…..Breaking up the family clearly doesn’t have the value that one would assume it does….

Now, here’s the thing. Is it true that Hobbs & Shaw didn’t open as big as any of F&F movies? Yes. But who the hell said it was expected to?

According to Deadline, the film hit the studio’s expectations. Also, the movie has yet to open in China, as it’s slated for release there on August 23rd.

China is one of the F&F‘s biggest markets, so this Hobbs & Shaw spinoff is just getting started with its box office run.

But again, if your goal is to drop a shit in the middle of The Rock’s red carpet, then you can frame the $180 million global opening weekend receipts for Hobbs & Shaw as a “disappointment.”

Speaking of disappointing, the shady post-and-delete move Tyrese pulled wasn’t the end of his shenanigans. After he pulled down his DIRECT hit on The Rock, he opted to replace that post with shady posts that ALLUDE to The Rock.

Texas Police Department Under Fire Over Photo Showing Officers Walking a Black Man on a Leash

The Galveston Police Department in Texas is in the hot seat over a photo showing their officers walking a Black man down the street on a leash.

According to ABC 13 Eyewitness News, 43-year-old Donald Neely was arrested by Galveston police on Saturday (Aug. 3) after being accused of criminal trespass. Police said they warned him several times before taking him into custody.

A photo of Neely being walked on a leash by the police officers, who were riding on horseback, quickly went viral on social media, with many pointing out how the image is eerily reminiscent of a slave owner walking his slave down a road … in 2019, mind you.

“THIS IS WRONG!!!! #noexcuse #InterruptRacism #ConfrontBigotry” wrote Erin Toberman, the woman who originally shared the photo on Facebook early Monday afternoon (Aug. 5).

Galveston PD officials said the officers were leading him around the corner, where a mounted patrol unit was staging when the picture was snapped, but members of the community ain’t trying to hear all of that.

“You don’t even do a dog like that,” said Sherri Kelly, visiting the island from Spring. “I don’t care. That’s inhumane.”

“Where were they walking him to and why did they rope him if he was handcuffed? I don’t think it’s right,” Cynthia Orise of Galveston said.

Some commenters online said it looked like the rope was tied to Neely’s hands, but police say he was handcuffed and the rope was attached to the handcuffs.

Galveston Police Department Chief Vernon L. Hale, III released a statement, saying that his officers weren’t being “malicious” while arresting Neely, however, he did admit that the cops did show “poor judgment.”

He said in part: “Although this is a trained technique and best practice in some scenarios, I believe our officers showed poor judgment in this instance and could have waited for a transport unit at the location of arrest.

“My officers did not have any malicious intent at the time of the arrest, but we have immediately changed the policy to prevent the use of this technique and will review all mounted training and procedures for more appropriate methods.”

The Galveston Police Dept. identified the officers in the photo as P. Brosch and A. Smith, ABC 13 reported.

The cops were wearing body cameras, which were turned on at the time of the incident, police said, adding that the officers will not face any discipline.

Neely’s sister said he’s mentally ill and homeless, and she was upset when she saw the photo online.

Queen Latifah and Shaggy Cast As Ursula and Sebastian in “The Little Mermaid” Live-Action Musical

In honor of the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid, Disney will be airing a live-action musical starring Moana actress Auli’i Cravalho as the titular character, Queen Latifah as Ursula and Shaggy as Sebastian.

The live musical event is set to air November 5th on ABC as part of its “The Wonderful World of Disney” franchise, and according to the network, the TV special will “take viewers on a magical adventure under the sea as live musical performances by a star-studded cast will be interwoven into the broadcast of the original feature film.”

ABC added in its press release: “This never-before-seen hybrid format will feature beautifully intricate sets and costumes, with music from the original animated film and the Tony Award-winning Broadway stage version.”

The news comes as Disney gears up to start production in 2020 on the live-action feature film adaptation of the 1999 animated movie, starring singer Halle Bailey as Ariel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, One Direction singer Harry Styles is in talks to play Ariel’s love interest, Prince Eric, and Melissa McCarthy is reportedly in the running to take on the role of Ursula.

ABC’s president of entertainment Karey Burke said the network isn’t worried about the TV musical overshadowing the upcoming movie because of timing and “distinct” differences in both projects.

Burke said the live musical—which will combine live-action, animation and puppetry—is “unlike anything that any network has done before in terms of live-action musical,” adding that the vision is “kind of mind-blowing.”

Wendy Williams disappointed fans this weekend when she abruptly ditched dates of tour to party with friends in NYC.

And sources now say Williams is seriously considering reuniting with her cheating ex, Kevin Hunter—but only as her business partner—to help get her “messy” business back in order.

Williams canceled two dates of her much-hyped “For the Record…Umm Hmm!” tour at the very last minute, citing “scheduling issues.” The dates have been rescheduled for September and October.

Despite the official explanation for the delay, a source tells Page Six: “The tour is shaping up to be a disaster.”

Shortly after Williams’ tour disaster, sources tell Daily Mail the daytime diva is preparing to announce she has rehired Hunter as her business manager, after firing him along with serving him divorce papers back in April.

“Wendy and Kevin’s marriage might be over but they still have love for one another and she realizes that when it comes to business they had a great partnership, there was definitely magic there,” the source says.

Daily Mail reports Williams and Hunter have already drafted a joint press release announcing plans NOT to dissolve neither their production company, publishing house nor their charitable foundation in order to preserve the “legacy” they have worked hard to create.

The new business agreement would be part of their divorce settlement in which Hunter agrees not to fight for alimony. Their lawyers are reportedly close to settling the divorce.

Hunter is open to the arrangement but wants to make sure Wendy won’t eventually fire him after he’s agreed to the divorce concessions.

Daily Mail‘s source says Williams came out fighting when it was revealed Hunter father outside of their 22-year marriage.

However, she has since “softened” after a series of heart-to-heart conversations and wants an amicable divorce that will allow them both to do what’s best for their family and business.

In June, Williams told an audience of women that she was going to take control over her career because Hunter had often left her out of major business deals. She advised the women to always be in control of their business affairs.

Disturbing Video Shows Alexis Skyy “Using” Cucumber on Woman at Her New Boyfriend Trouble’s Pool Party

Alexis Skyy became the talk of Twitter early this morning after a video widely shared on social media showed the Love & Hip Hop star “using” a cucumber to perform a sex act on another woman at what looked like the most ratchet party on earth.

Alexis Skyy, who shares a daughter with rapper Fetty Wap, is now dating Atlanta rapper Trouble, who hosted a big pool party Sunday (Aug 4). alongside Skyy and fellow ATL rapper YFN Lucci called the “Winner’s Only Pool Party.”

The party apparently had a cucumber theme in honor of the so-called #CucumberChallenge (click that link at your own risk, preferably not on your employer’s WiFi) that was reportedly started by Trouble.

As day turned into night, the freaks started to come out, and that’s when Alexis thought it would be OK to insert a whole entire cucumber into another woman’s nether regions and put it into said woman’s mouth … multiple times.

Boosie Badazz was also in attendance at the ratchet event and was especially excited about what he witnessed, because he posted not just one, but two videos on his IG.

Reginae Carter, Lil Wayne and Toya’s daughter, was there too, despite her posting a video last month denouncing the Cucumber Challenge, calling it “degrading” and “dirty” and “not cute” after her boyfriend YFN Lucci was seen on video cheering on a woman sucking on a cucumber.

An IG live video filmed by Trouble showed the disturbing moment Alexis did unspeakable things with a cucumber apparently in a desperate effort to win some sort of competition.

Skyy and the woman both appear to both be willing participants in the Cucumber Challenge as the crowd cheers them on. And just in case you were wondering, yes, they won.

We won’t be re-sharing the extremely graphic footage here (because we are classy, thankyouverymuch) but it’s really not that hard to find on social media.

He Tried It: Brazil Gang Leader Caught Attempting to Escape Prison Dressed Up Like His Daughter

Jail has to be like one of the worst places in the world a person can go. Nothing about it is good and I wouldn’t wish it on a soul.

So it comes as no surprise when you hear stories about inmates trying to escape from jail and their successful and unsuccessful attempts at it.

However, a recent report about a Brazil gang leader who dressed up as his own daughter when she came to visit him and planned on leaving his daughter behind in the jail is one of the craziest things I’ve heard thus far.

According to ABC News, Clauvino da Silva (who is also known as “Shorty”) was caught by authorities trying to break out of the Gericinó prison in Rio de Janeiro dressed like a woman.

“The reputed crime boss was allegedly wearing a pink t-shirt with a cartoon image of donuts, a black wig, silicon mask and tight jeans to conceal his identity. A video released by authorities appears to show him removing the mask and some of the clothes and saying his full name.”

Authorities said Silva’s daughter came to visit him at the prison and Silva dressed himself to look identical to his daughter.

Silva’s plan was to trick guards to think he was his daughter and to leave his daughter at the prison.

His escape attempt was almost successful until authorities noticed him acting extremely nervous, which immediately gave away his disguise.

The convicted drug dealer’s amazing get-up was so convincing prison staff only stopped him at the end of visiting time because he started acting too nervously, authorities told the New York Post.

Now authorities are investigating if Silva’s daughter was an accomplice in his escape attempt.

Silva is said to be a part of the leadership of the Red Command, one of the most powerful criminal groups in Brazil that controlled drug trafficking in a large part of Rio.

Since the incident, Silva was transferred to a special unit of a maximum-security prison and will face disciplinary action.

Neil deGrasse Tyson Dragged to the Other Side of the Universe After Downplaying Mass Shootings With Tone Deaf Tweet

Neil deGrasse Tyson is being dragged to the other side of the universe and back over a callous tweet in which he basically said two mass shootings over a 48-hour period isn’t really that bad when you consider the many other ways people can die in that same time frame.

The famous astrophysicist bizarrely tweeted out some statistics Sunday following back-to-back mass shootings in Ohio and Texas—which has claimed the lives of 29 innocent people so far and injured dozens more—saying that mass shootings are simply a minor blip on the death radar.

His words exactly:

“In the past 48hrs, the USA horrifically lost 34 people to mass shootings. On average, across any 48hrs, we also lose…500 to Medical errors; 300 to the Flu; 250 to Suicide; 200 to Car Accidents; 40 to Homicide via Handgun.

“Often our emotions respond more to spectacle than to data.”

Unsurprisingly, Twitter gave him the BIZNESS for his ridiculously tone-deaf tweet downplaying mass shootings and gun violence in general:

Dayton, Ohio Gunman Connor Betts Killed His Own Sister & Injured Her Boyfriend in Mass Shooting

Police have identified 24-year-old Connor Betts as the lone gunman dressed in body armor who opened fire early Sunday morning (Aug 4.) in a Dayton, Ohio entertainment district, killing at least nine people and injuring more than two dozen others before being fatally shot by police seconds later.

Among the nine killed was the shooter’s 22-year-old sister Megan Kathleen Betts. Her boyfriend was also shot, but he survived, police said.

Initial reports stating that Megan and her boyfriend were found shot to death in a car were inaccurate, officials said. Megan was found in a similar location to the other victims and her “companion” was among the wounded, but not killed.

Police didn’t confirm whether the gunman targeted his sister or whether she was just in the area. A motive has not yet been determined.

The home in Bellbrook, Ohio where the Betts siblings lived with their parents was searched by the FBI and police officers Sunday.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said in an early morning press conference that the gunman used a .223-caliber high-capacity magazine rifle in the shooting and he wore a mask covering his face.

The shooter was also wearing body armor and had extra magazines on him when he was killed.

The mayor added: “If the Dayton police had not gotten to the shooter in under a minute, hundreds of people in the Oregon District would be dead today. This is the 250th mass shooting in America. It’s sad that it’s in the city of Dayton.”

Graphic and disturbing video footage from the scene circulated on social media. In one video, you can clearly hear the repeated sounds of heavy gunfire.

Another video shows the aftermath, with the man behind the camera describing seeing “dead people on the road everywhere.”

Authorities have released the names, ages and demographics of the nine deceased victims, who include black and white individuals, both male and female

In addition to Megan Betts, they are 27-year-old Lois Oglesby (a Black female), 38-year-old Saeed Saleh (Black male), 30-year-old Logan Turner (White male), 25-year-old Nicholas Cummer (White male), 25-year-old Thomas McNichols (Black male), 26-year-old Beatrice Warren Curtis (Black female), 39-year-old Monica Brickhouse (Black female), and 57-year-old Derrick Fudge (Black male).

Assistant Dayton Police Chief Matt Carper said it was “hard to imagine that there was much discrimination in the shooting” because “it happened in a very short period of time.”

Carper declined to say whether the Betts family was cooperating with the investigation, however, Bellbrook Police Chief Doug Doherty told reporters the Betts family was thankful for the work police were doing, saying: “They’re victims too.”

Dana Raber, a woman who identified herself as a friend of Megan Betts, told local news station WRGT that Megan was “sweet and strange” in a good way.

At Least 10 Dead, Dozens Injured in Mass Shooting in Dayton, Ohio Hours After Texas Walmart Massacre

At least 10 people are confirmed dead and more than two dozen were wounded after a gunman opened fire in Dayton, Ohio just hours after a mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

The gunman, who was later identified as 24-year-old Connor Betts, was also killed in the shooting.

Among the nine victims was the shooter’s 22-year-old sister Megan Kathleen Betts and her boyfriend, who were found shot to death in a car near the crime scene.

The shooting took place in Dayton’s Oregon District, which is a collection of bars, restaurants and local businesses in the city’s downtown area.

Police said the entire shooting took place outside and the shooter was firing multiple rounds at victims from a “long gun.”

Initial reports stated at least 24 people were injured in the senseless attack, which was first reported at 1:22 a.m., police said.

Witnesses said there were “casualties everywhere” and described the shooter as a “white man dressed in all black.”

One eyewitness, James Williams, wrote on Facebook:

“Sad people are not right. I’m safe. Happened right in front of the patio where I was sitting in front of Neds.

“The guy in front of Ned Peppers’ door is the active shooter. He tried to go into the bar but did not make it through the door. Someone took the gun from him and he got shot and is dead.

“There are at least eight people dead right by the picnic table where I was on the street. A bunch of people taken to the hospital. I don’t know how any… this place is a disaster.”

Williams took to Facebook Live to describe the chaos. He said the shooter “came up with an AR-15, had a vest on, earmuffs, just started blowing bullets everywhere … There’s casualties everywhere.”

A Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson told ABC News they’d received 16 victims, but didn’t provide any further details about their conditions or their injuries.

The shooting in Dayton, Ohio comes just 12 hours after a gunman killed at least 20 people and injured more than two dozen others at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.

The suspect in that shooting, a 21-year-old man, is in police custody.

The Dayton, Ohio shooting also marks the third mass shooting in the U.S. in less than a week.

Last Sunday (Jul. 28) a gunman opened fire at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California, killing three people, including a 6-year-old boy. 12 others were injured and the shooter killed himself.

According to the Mass Shooting Tracker, this year alone, there have been 291 mass shootings in the United States, resulting in more than 1,400 people being shot. Of those 1,400+ people, more than 300 have died.

The website’s 2018 report states there were a total of 426 mass shootings that year, resulting in more than 1,500 injured victims and over 500 fatalities.
