Idris Elba: The First Man to Cover Maxim Magazine

Idris Elba is making history as the first man to cover Maxim magazine. The actor and his dreamy eyes are trying to seduce the ladies on the mag’s September 2015 issue.

Maxim is a men’s monthly magazine that is famous for showing off scantily clad women on the cover, but their new female editor-in-chief says they’re trying to reach women. And women LOOOOVE themselves some Idris Elba, so, naturally he was the perfect choice, says EIC Kate Lanphear.

“We’ve never in US Maxim history had a man on the cover solo,” Lanphear told Racked. “This is the very first time, and there was no one else in the world more badass than Idris.”

She continued to drool over him, saying:

“For me, he was really the perfect embodiment of what I think the new Maxim man is. He’s multi-dimensional, he’s complex, he’s sophisticated, but he’s down to earth. It was funny when on set, I was like, ‘Is there anything this guy can’t do?’ He’s an award-winning actor, he’s a DJ, his capsule clothing line for Superdry is about to hit stores. The guy broke the [British] land speed record which hasn’t been touched since like 1928. He’s sort of a living, breathing superhero.”

Wow. Idris Elba is a “living, breathing superhero.”

Ladies, do you agree?

Meek Mill’s Alleged Ghostwriter: “I Don’t F**k With Him, Drake Won.”

Meek Mill has been taking numerous L’s (in public and on social media) over his beef with Drake, which Meek sparked when he called Drizzy out for using the assistance of ghostwriters to create hit songs.

Not only did Drake essentially dance all over Meek’s grave at OVO Fest by putting memes mocking Meek’s defeat on the big screen behind him during his highly anticipated headlining performance, but now it sounds like a rapper claiming to be a ghostwriter for Meek Mill is trying to make things go from bad to worse for Mill.

Bossip reports that a rapper named Louie V Gutta “has a bone to pick with Meek” and is putting the Philly native on blast for using his services as a ghostwriter — which is big because Meek accused Drake of using ghostwriters, and now he’s a pot calling a kettle black.

Earlier this week on Twitter, Louie V (@LouieVGutta) hosted an impromptu Q&A session after someone asked him if he had really wrote for Meek Mill. He confirmed their inquiry, telling them to look for “V. Robinson” in Meek’s album/mixtape credits.

Asked how many songs he’d written for Meek, he told another user “a lot.” He also confirmed to someone else that he wrote “a few tracks” for Meek’s first album.

Another person asked him if he had beef with Meek, and he replied, “no beef but I still don’t f**k wit him cuz of the lies he spread.”

Someone else asked him if he would write a diss track against Drake for Meek and he told them “f**k no he on his own [laugh crying emoji].”

And he explained to another Twitter user that he wouldn’t write a rebuttal for Meek because “the 6 god [prayer hands emoji]” is his “fav rapper.”

He also said “Drake won,” in regards to the beef and revealed he would love to work with the Canadian rapper if given the opportunity, because, “who wouldn’t?”

Check out the tweets below:

For what it’s worth, the Dreams and Nightmares credits listed on Wikipedia mentions a “Vincent Robinson” (Louie V Gutta’s real name) as a writer on a song called “Rich & Famous,” which Gutta features on as a guest performer.

However, that’s the only song we could find with his name on it. “V. Robinson” was nowhere to be found.

In related news, Gutta addressed his alleged ghostwriting for Meek on a freestyle over Drake’s “Back to Back” beat he released Thursday (Aug 6). He hints that he once helped his former Dream Chasers Records boss with his lyrics.

“Ain’t about who wrote this or who wrote that. I’m just happy my contribution earned a n**ga a plaque,” Gutta raps.

According to All Hip Hop, Gutta and Meek’s issues go back as far as last years when the rappers had a public falling out over Gutta apparently tweeting support for Slowbucks’ chain being snatched at Hot 97’s Summer Jam concert. At the time, both Gutta and Meek fired shots at each other over freestyles to Drake’s “0 to 100.”

Earlier this summer it was rumored that Gutta was pistol-whipped at a Meek Mill video shoot in Philly, but Gutta later denied being involved in an incident that day.

“Comedic Rock Star” Kevin Hart Covers Rolling Stone Magazine

Kevin Hart has been doing his thing for a while now, but he is literally at the top of his game at this very moment, and it’s no surprise because he’s put in a lot of work to get there.

Whether or not you find his brand of comedy funny, you can’t dispute the fact that he’s one of the hottest comedians in the country, his stand-up shows sell out and the DVD-releases do extremely well too.

Every time you turn around, this guy is either in a new movie (he’s shooting at least 3 right now, including “Ride Along 2,” and he’s also touring for another stand-up show to be released on DVD) or working on a TV show (i.e. “Real Husbands of Hollywood”).

kevin-hart-rolling-stone-cover

At this point, it’s safe to call Kevin Hart a “comedic rock star,” and he made that title official by gracing the August 13th 2015 cover of Rolling Stone — a magazine only reserved for rock stars.

Hart gushed about the honor to his 20 million Instagram followers:

God is truly amazing….I can officially check a major goal off of my list….That goal was to one day grace the cover of “Rolling Stone” Magazine….And damn it that day has come people!!!!!

WOOOOOW I am blown away by this….Make sure y’all pick up a copy and read this amazing article….Or go to Rollingstone.com to read it…Just make sure you read it….The title of “Comedic Rockstar” is now OFFICIAL!!!!!

#ComedicRockstarShit #DressedInRockstarAttire #RollingStone #HardWorkPaysOff #iStillGotaLotOfWorkToDo #Motivation

kevin-hart-rolling-stone

Inside, Kevin strips down for a photo spread and talks about learning to channel his pain into laughter for his stand-up routines, and how he has become the household name that he is today.

Kevin says he laid the groundwork for that by performing at just about anywhere just to get his name out there:

“I’ve been to some of the damnedest places for comedy. I performed in a place in Atlantic City called Sweet Cheeks. It was a male strip night, and some nights a female strip night, and in the middle they would stop the stripper show and have intermission, where as comedians it was our job to go up and make the people laugh.

“I performed at family dinners, family functions, like where you get there and you’re the entertainment for a household. You name it: All shots to my pride have been taken.”

Hart grew up sleeping in a bunk bed squeezed in the hallways of a small one-bedroom apartment he lived in with his single mom and older brother.

But now, the 36-year-old calls a massive mansion that resides in a gated community in a Los Angeles suburb his home, and it was there that the “Get Hard” actor sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss his life and his meteoric his rise to fame over the past few years.

One major subject he tackled was the issue of homophobia. If you’ll recall, during a skit from his 2010 “Seriously Funny” comedy tour, Kevin told a joke about how he would be devastated if son turned out to be gay. The bit goes like this:

“One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay. That’s a fear. Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic…?Be happy. Do what you want to do. But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.”

Today, Hart says he wouldn’t even think about telling the joke because folks are a bit more “sensitive” about topics of homosexuality and homophobia. But he says when he made the joke, it had nothing to do with his son, it was more about him dealing with his own issues of homophobia.

“It’s about my fear. I’m thinking about what I did as a dad, did I do something wrong, and if I did, what was it? Not that I’m not gonna love my son or think about him any differently. The funny thing within that joke is it’s me getting mad at my son because of my own insecurities — I panicked.

“It has nothing to do with him, it’s about me. That’s the difference between bringing a joke across that’s well thought-out and saying something just to ruffle feathers.

“I wouldn’t tell that joke today, because when I said it, the times weren’t as sensitive as they are now. I think we love to make big deals out of things that aren’t necessarily big deals, because we can. These things become public spectacles. So why set yourself up for failure?”

Hart also touched on the issue of race America, saying that while he doesn’t joke much about race or address race issues in his stand-up shows, behind the scenes and off-stage, those issues “infuriate” him.

“It’s not my style of comedy. It angers me, but not onstage,” he said. “Onstage, my job is to take away whatever problems are in the world, for that brief moment of time.”

He continued:

“A guy in the hood with two nickel bags of weed gets five years in jail, because they say they want to make an example of him, but I haven’t seen one judge make an example out of one of these police officers that killed one of these young black men.

“When I see videos of children being shot dead by police, I don’t talk about it because it’s something that scares me. Because I have kids. At that point, it’s not a joking matter. There is no joking there. I would not touch it.”

He added:

“[I want to be seen as] a motivational figure. I won’t acknowledge what I won’t let beat me. Have I experienced racism? Of course. But will I make you feel superior by saying I’ve felt trumped at times? No. I’ll beat you by succeeding.

“I want to show my generation that a man of color, despite the roadblocks, can still make it. There’s moments when I took to social media and said things, but it’s always been on the positive side.

“I gave a message to Baltimore: At the end of the day, we’re only hurting ourselves by destroying what we have. We have to go back and live there. We’re torching, firebombing, looting our stuff. We need that CVS! Be smarter than this!”

As Kevin Hart continues to sell out arenas (like Madison Square Garden, TWICE) and bring in the big numbers at the box office, he is also working on numerous other projects, including his viral comedy site “Laugh Out Loud,” which he hopes will rival sites like Funny or Die, and he also has plans to get into the lucrative fitness sector.

“At this point, I’m competing against Kevin Hart,” he said.

Meek Mill Compares Himself & Nicki Minaj to Jay Z & Beyoncé

Meek Mill is currently dealing with the death of his rap career after opening a can of worms on himself by dissing Drake, but before that, the Philly native sat down with Billboard for an interview.

In addition to opening up about why he’s “scared to be political” (“You get too powerful and more people try to take you out … My son ain’t trying to hear that his dad got put away because he was fighting for the country.”), Meek also defended his relationship with Nicki Minaj against the haters, comparing what they have to what Jay Z & Beyoncé have.

“You can’t be hard all the time, man,” he says of critics — such as rapper Joe Budden and, now, Drake — who suggest his romance is at odds with his hard-edged music. “There’s both sides to everything. What’s wrong with it? Jay Z was a street rapper and he had a girlfriend.”

Drake threw some major shade at “Omeeka” (particularly at Meek though) in his “Back to Back” diss track, basically saying that Meek plays the submissive role in his relationship with Nicki:

You love her, then you gotta give the world to her
Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?

I know that you gotta be a thug for her
This ain’t what she meant when she told you to open up more

I’m not the type of nigga that’ll type to niggas
And shout-out to all my boss bitches wifin’ niggas

Make sure you hit him with the prenup
Then tell that man to ease up

I don’t wanna hear about this ever again
Not even when she tell him that they better as friends
Not even when you sayin’, “Drizzy, tell ’em again”

Based on these lyrics (especially the bolded lines), Drake doesn’t sound like he would agree with Meek’s “Bey-Z” comparison, likely because Jay Z never plays second fiddle to Beyoncé, like how Meek is forced to do with Nicki.

beyonce-jay-z-on-the-run-tour

nicki-minaj-meek-mill-pinkprint-tour

“Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?” — Drake

Nicki Minaj may be on a “Beyoncé-like” level, but Meek Mill is certainly no Jay Z.

Meek even admitted that Nicki’s verse on their collaboration single “All Eyes On You” (ft. Chris Brown) was better than his, and how there was a power struggle (which she won, btw) over the track’s release.

“She wanted it to be my single, and I didn’t,” he told Billboard. “It turned into an ego argument.”

“She killed me on that song,” Meek admitted, “but I don’t really care. When my girl do better than me, I still win. When I do better than her, she still wins.”

Sounds like Nicki Minaj is the only winner in that relationship, and if that’s the case, they can never be the next Beyoncé and Jay Z … because Mr. AND Mrs. Carter are BOTH winning.

Drake vs Meek Mill Beef: Chick-Fil-A, Burger King, Rosetta Stone React on Social Media

In case you didn’t already know, Drake and Meek Mill are beefing.

It all started when Meek got mad at Drizzy for not promoting his new album Dreams Worth More Than Money on Twitter, an album that Drake is featured on. (BTW, Drake did, however, promote Future’s album Dirty Sprite 2, which he is also featured on.)

Meek responded to the apparent slight by tweeting that Drake uses ghostwriters, even going so far as naming the alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller.

https://twitter.com/MeekMill/status/623703382675460096

https://twitter.com/MeekMill/status/623727782279843842

Drake fired back by releasing two diss tracks (“Charged Up” and “Back to Back“), which were well received by the public.

Meek, however, was railed on for his tardy for the party ass diss track “Wanna Know,” which took him nine days (NINE DAYS) to release. In it, he reveals that one time Drake got peed on in a movie theater.

Social media erupted with memes and funny jokes on Twitter, which wasn’t surprising at all because that happens all the time.

What was surprising though was when the big brands and food chains like Chick Fil-A, Burger King, White Castle, Whataburger, Rosetta Stone, Cinepelex, etc. chimed in with their hilarious responses.

https://twitter.com/GAFollowers/status/628268550042554368

Damn. It’s bad enough getting roasted by social media, but how many people can say they’ve been dissed by Hamburger Helper?

Drake Slaughters Meek Mill with Memes at OVO Fest, Laughs with Kanye West & Will Smith Backstage

Drake is still killing Meek Mill in every way possible.

Just when we thought the humiliation couldn’t get any worse, Drake opened up the final night of his OVO Festival on Monday (Aug. 3) performing his Meek diss tracks Charged Up and Back to Back.”

As Drake rapped to the songs, memes making fun of Meek Mill appeared on a huge screen behind him.

Drake was also spotted earlier in the day rocking a “Free Meek” t-shirt during the warm-up for the show — the same shirt he wore during a concert while Meek was locked up.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s footage of Drizzy hilariously laughing backstage (at Meek Mill memes, perhaps?) with Kanye West and Will Smith.

https://twitter.com/itsbizkit/status/628434777113296896

Looks like Meek Mill can officially kiss his career (or any bit of respect he had in the rap game) goodbye.

R.I.P Meek Mill. At least he’s keeping his teeth clean though:

Lil Kim Claims Baby Daddy Mr. Papers Beat Her Up in Lawsuit, Then Quickly Backpedals

Lil Kim is currently embroiled in a nasty custody battle for her daughter Royal Reign with her baby daddy Mr. Papers, and the pint-sized Brooklyn femcee had reportedly taken things to the next level by filing a domestic abuse lawsuit against Papers, claiming that the aspiring rapper beat her up.

Bossip reported that Papers (real name: Jeremy Neil) has made several attempts to see the daughter he shares with rapstress Lil Kim — 1-year-old Royal Reign Jones Neil — ever since the former couple broke up over cheating claims last year when Royal Reign was only two months old.

27-year-old Papers had filed for visitation rights, saying that Kim is blocking him from seeing their baby, and asking the family courts for at least one day a week to parent Royal Reign. He’s even reportedly agreed to have a court-approved monitor supervise the visits.

In response to Papers’ court filing, Lil Kim (real name: Kimberly Jones) not only failed to attend his court hearing, but the 41-year-old also fired back with a domestic abuse lawsuit accusing him of beating her.

Mr. Papers insists that things never got physical during their relationship, and he believes Kim’s domestic abuse lawsuit against him is simply a ploy to further prevent him from seeing their child.

“She’s playing really dirty now with the domestic situation,” Papers’ publicist Tasha Hilton told Bossip. “There has never been any domestic violence.”

About the former couple’s daughter Royal Reign and the custody battle, Hilton added, “He’s not trying to take custody, he’s not trying to take her. He is literally just trying to see her. He’s been trying to do it very quietly.”

Kim has since backtracked on her claims that Papers beat her up. According to a follow-up report from Bossip, the femcee’s lawyer told a Family Court judge last Wednesday (Jul 29) during a hearing that the two were working to settle their case.

More via Bossip:

The diminutive diva, real name Kimberly Jones, had earlier asked a judge to issue a permanent restraining order against Mr. Papers, aka Jeremy Neil, after she claimed in court papers that he beat her up.

Kim made the allegations shortly after Papers filed for visitation of the tot, who he hasn’t seen in eight months. A permanent restraining order would’ve affected the child custody case.

“We are working towards an amicable solution,” Papers’ lawyer Ronald Bar told Bossip.

Kim showed up five hours late for the hearing, and arrived in full makeup, dressed in a floral print dress, jean jacket, long blond wig with studded stilettos. She, along with Papers and their lawyers, spoke animatedly together for about 45 minutes before they saw the judge.

There seemed to be no love lost between Papers, 27, and Kim, 41, who complained loudly before the hearing began of her disdain for her one time lover. “I hate him,” Kim told a companion. “I don’t understand why people like him exist.”

Outside court, Kim became hysterical when a reporter asked her about her feelings on the case. “Don’t do that! I am telling you – don’t do that!” Kim screamed before calling the reporter a “b***h.”

“Are you a mother?” Kim said. “When you’re a mother, you’ll understand!”

Mr. Papers’ publicist said the pair met when three years ago when he was 24 and she was 38, and they struggled with issues such as infidelity throughout their relationship.

“They had a lot of challenges with regard to being faithful and infidelity,” Hilton said.

But regardless of where his relationship with Lil Kim stands, Mr. Papers has made it clear that he will be there for his daughter no matter what.

“He doesn’t want his daughter to grow up and think her father didn’t care about her,” Hilton said. “The one thing that does matter to him is having his daughter in his life.”

And all the man is asking for is just ONE day a week. You can’t let this man see his child ONE day out of SEVEN, Kim?

Most women have to fight for their baby daddy(ies) to even acknowledge their children, and here she is fighting to keep a father away from his kid. What kinda mess is that?

Just in case you haven’t seen Baby Royal Reign, here are a few photos proud mom Lil Kim posted on Instagram on the tiny tot’s first birthday:

Italian Police Seized Over $200k from Snoop Dogg Following Airport Security Check

Snoop Dogg just can’t catch a break.

Just a little bit over a week after Uncle Snoop was detained in Sweden on suspicion of drug possession (“They didn’t find shit!” Snoop says), the rapper has had yet another run in with the law, but this time it cost him some major bucks.

During a security check, Snoop was stopped at Lamezia Terme airport in Italy this past weekend after he was found with over $400 grand ($422,820 to be exact!) in cold, hard U.S. cash.

According to CNN, Police seized half of the money from Snoop and left his pockets “$205,000 lighter.”

The maximum amount of cash that passengers traveling through Italy can carry without declaring it is €10,000 ($11,010.25). The rules were put in place to prevent money laundering.

Snoop performed a show earlier in the week in the village of Montepaone. He told police that the cash was to pay his bands for concerts in Italy and elsewhere.

Snoop Dogg then left for London. The finance police will open an investigation into the Italian concert and how the rapper was paid.

Obviously whatever weed Snoop has been smoking lately had him too high to think straight because everyone knows you can’t take that type of cash on a plane. Like, really dude?

T.I.’s Childhood Friend Cap is the One Who Peed on Drake in a Movie Theater

So apparently Meek Mill wasn’t lying when he said Drake received the “R.Kelly treatment” a few years back.

Last week after much delay, Meek Mill finally released a diss song titled “Wanna Know” in response to Drake’s latest pair of diss tracks “Charged Up” and “Back to Back”.

On the track, Meek called Drake out for being peed on by a childhood friend of T.I.’s in a crowded movie theater. Yikes.

“You let Tip homie piss on you in a movie theater nigga, we ain’t forget,” Meek raps in the outro.

While we thought Nicki Minaj’s boyfriend was simply talking out the side of his neck, the incident did indeed take place.

Hip Hop journalist Julia Beverly (founder of Ozone magazine) says T.I.’s friend Cap, who had just gotten out of prison, btw, was drunk at the premiere of Tip’s movie “Takers” in Hollywood and peed “in the aisle” and his urine somehow landed on Drake.

https://twitter.com/JuliaBeverly/status/626988012468047872

https://twitter.com/JuliaBeverly/status/626989341059977217

The jury is out on whether it was on purpose or a mistake, but according to other Hip Hop insiders, it really did happen. Peep this tweet from another one of T.I.’s friends, comedian Lil Duval:

Fans of Drake have of course come to the rapper’s defense, claiming the line is actually aimed at Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels … but unfortunately for them, it’s definitely directed at Drake.

TMZ sources have backed up Meek’s claims, too. Evidently, T.I.’s “heavily intoxicated friend” peed himself and the piss “unintentionally” splashed on Drake’s shoe.

It all went down in 2010, during a private screening of “Takers” on the Sony lot … a movie in which Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Chris Brown and T.I. all starred in.

Drake attended the screening and, 30 minutes in, jumped up screaming and ran out of the theater.

We’re told a dispute erupted over who was sitting where … apparently Drake and one of T.I.’s childhood friends got into it. The friend got pissed, and pissed on Drake. We’re told Drake ran out of the theater, screaming “motherf*****.”

And sources told us the obvious … intoxicants were involved.

Well, damn.

Drake may be killing Meek right now in their current rap feud, but he still has some ‘splaining to do about this one.

Julia Beverly has a theory on why Drake didn’t do anything in retaliation though.

Meek Mill Should’ve Let This Rapper Ghostwrite His Drake Diss Track

It didn’t take long for Drake to release not just one, but TWO diss tracks aimed at Meek Mill, who had previously called the Canadian rapper out for not writing his own lyrics and using the services of ghostwriters.

But it took Meek more than a week to release his diss track, which was met with extreme disappointment from the Internet, who responded in their usual no chill manner with a flurry of memes making fun of Meek.

It took Meek Mill so long to release his underwhelming diss track that his fans started taking to social media and writing their own disses.

One fan in particular (@SchamaNoel) actually wrote a scathing Drake diss track using Meek’s signature style and flow and posted it on Twitter.

“Since this nigga wanna take forever to reply I did it myself [laugh cry emoji x2],” he tweeted.

#RapLike Meek Mill

Little wheel chair jimmy’s having a golden year

Stop with the tough guy act Aubrey, you not gon’ win
This nigga fruity no wonder APPLE sponsored him

Now, what did the Internet think of Schama Noel’s Drake diss? Let’s take a quick look:

Looks like the general consensus is that Meek Mill should enlist this rapper’s services as a ghostwriter. But then that would make him the world’s biggest hypocrite, wouldn’t it?

Poor Meek. You can’t feel TOO sorry for him though, considering he did bring this on himself.

Birdman’s Angie Martinez Interview Shows He’s Having Trouble Understanding How Serious This Lil Wayne Feud Is

Birdman thinks the media is making his issues with Lil Wayne bigger than what they really are.

Despite spending 48 hours in Miami with Power 105.1 host Angie Martinez for an exclusive interview, Birdman failed to reveal hardly anything about his current feud and legal battle with Lil Wayne.

For the majority of the interview, Birdman avoided answering most of Angie’s questions and instead talked about his love for his son Wayne and how much he supports him, despite Wayne’s claims that Birdman is holding him prisoner in his contract with Cash Money and owes him millions of dollars.

According to Birdman, he and Wayne still talk on a regular basis and Wayne hasn’t verbally told him he wants out of his deal. He also said that Drake and Nicki aren’t going anywhere and denied reports he threw a drink at Wayne during a club appearance or plotted along with Young Thug to have him killed.

Drake’s Reference Tracks from Alleged Ghostwriter Quentin Miller

Ever since Meek Mill called Drake out for using “ghostwriters” (which is something literally all rappers do, including Meek Mill), folks have been looking for ways to question Drake’s credibility as a rapper.

Enter Funkmaster Flex, who added tons of fuel to the fire last week by releasing a reference track for Drake’s 10 Bands from the man believed to be Drake’s ghostwriter Quentin Miller.

Funk Flex followed up Thursday (Jul 30) by dropping THREE more reference tracks from Miller, this time for “Know Yourself” (which shows up in that awful Meek Mill diss track), “Used To” and “R.I.C.O.,” Drake’s collaboration with Meek Mill, which Meek said was ghostwritten by Miller in his rant against Drake.

Listen here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPxqppEkSrI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiRAI9vdvQs

Quentin has said on Tumblr that he is “not and never will be a ‘ghostwriter’ for Drake.”

“I’m proud to say that we’ve collaborated,” he continued, “but I could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together.”

Quentin may not have written Drake’s lyrics, but based on the reference tracks, it does sound like he essentially laid the foundation for the songs (the hook, the composition, etc). Drake just added his “Midas touch.”

The reference tracks honestly sound like nothing more than two artists collaborating with each other.

A lot of folks with the “Drake uses ghostwriters” argument seem to believe that this man actually has people write all of his lyrics for him and he just hops on the mic and raps them. That is the furthest from the truth.

People tend to forget that Drake is a songwriter and has written hits for other artists. Hell, he could have helped Kendrick Lamar write his verse on Poetic Justice for all we know. And Kendrick could have helped him on his as well.

The point is, Meek Mill got himself into a mess by accusing Drake of having someone else write his lyrics, and all he’s doing right now is proving that he probably needs to use more ghostwriters himself.

Like the old saying goes, “Don’t start what you can’t finish.”

Drake Amused by Meek Mill’s Poor Attempt at a Diss Track

Not too long after Meek Mill released “Wanna Know,” his highly anticipated Drake diss track, Drizzy took his Instagram page to share his thoughts on the song.

The general consensus is that Meek Mill should have come waaaay harder — considering Drake released not just one, but TWO diss tracks aimed at him.

But since all he did was make a fool of himself with this poor attempt at a “diss track,” all he gets from Drizzy is laughs.

And Twitter has been going in on poor Meek all night long:

Meek Mill Finally Released That Drake Diss Track: “Wanna Know” ft. Quentin Miller

After what seems like forever, Meek Mill has finally responded to Drake’s diss tracks “Charged Up” and “Back to Back” with his own song aimed at the Canadian rapper he sparked a beef with.

The song is called “Wanna Know,” and it features Drake’s alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller rapping Drizzy’s “Know Yourself” in what sounds like yet another reference track.

“If you ain’t write that runnin’ through the 6 shit / Tell us who the fuck was Quentin runnin’ through the 6 with?” Meek raps.

Take a listen here:

Cute, but Meek Mill going to have to come a lot harder than that.

Drake put out not just one, but TWO diss tracks in less than a week, and this is what you came up with, Meek? REALLY?

It took you a week to come up with this bruh? REALLY? Maybe you should have let Nicki help you, or something.

Nicki Minaj Goes in on Ex Boyfriend Safaree: You’re a “Bitch Ass N*gga” With “No Intellect”

While her boyfriend Meek Mill is being bodied by Drake over diss tracks, Nicki Minaj is releasing her wrath on her ex Safaree “SB” Samuels.

Safaree recently dropped a diss track titled “Lifeline” about Meek and Nicki, in which he says he ghostwrote for Nicki on The Pinkprint.

“My bars on The PinkPrint, no one’ll ever match. My dickprint, lil nigga you can never match,” Safaree raps in the song.

Listen to the whole song (if you care) here:

Apparently this didn’t sit so well with Nicki, who during her Toronto stop for The Pinkprint Tour fired shots right back at her ex Safaree.

Not only did Nicki refute Safaree’s claims that he wrote for her album, she also said he’s not even smart enough to write her rhymes.

“A bitch ass nigga can’t write my raps. You know why? You don’t have the heart, or the mind frame, or the motherfuckin’ intellect. Don’t even know how pronounce these motherfuckin’ words in my rap, bitch,” Nick told the crowd.

Terrence Howard Sued by Ex-Wife Michelle Ghent for Alleged Beating

Terrence Howard‘s ex wife Michelle Ghent has filed a lawsuit over an incident in which she says he violently beat her within an inch of her life in 2013.

TMZ reports:

Michelle Ghent claims she and Terrence were at a rental house in Costa Rica in 2013 when they began arguing and he grabbed her by the neck, pushed her against the bathroom wall and began strangling her. She says he threatened to kill her and then mule kicked her.

Ghent filed the lawsuit just 1 day before the statute of limitations ran. Terrence has said it was mutual combat, claiming Ghent pepper spayed him during the fight.

If you can recall, Terrence has a strong history of domestic violence.

He was arrested in 2001 for assaulting his estranged wife Lori McCommas. Howard pleaded guilty in 2002 to disorderly conduct.

In 2010, Howard married Michelle Ghent, but their marriage only lasted a year after Ghent filed for divorce in 2011. In the divorce documents, Ghent detailed her relationship with Howard as being very abusive and accused him of physically attacking, stalking, and threatening to kill her on multiple occasions.

In 2012, Howard’s girlfriend/mistress May Seng Yang called cops to his Pennsylvania home after the two had an argument that led to a scuffle. Yang told police that Howard choked her, threw her to the ground, and punched her in the eye. Howard fired back by filing assault charges and later resolved the matter with a financial settlement.

A year later in 2013, Ghent and Howard made a final attempt at reconciliation during a trip in Costa Rica, only for the trip to turn into a total nightmare. Ghent alleges that Howard punched her in the face and that she pepper-sprayed him in self-defense. Photos of Ghent after the incident made the story even more convincing. Ghent was granted a temporary restraining order for the second time against Howard.

Howard was also arrested on other occasions such as in 2000 when he assaulted a flight attendant on Continental airlines, but the charges were later dropped. Also in 2005, Howard got into a fight with a couple at a restaurant and was charged with disorderly conduct.

We all love us some Terrence Howard…but could he, in a way, be the next Bill Cosby? He may not be date-raping women by slipping them quaaludes and benadryl, but being a habitual woman beater isn’t any better.

Get your shit together, Lucious!

Cara Delevingne Battles Morning Show Hosts in Awkward Interview

On the promo trail for her new movie “Paper Towns,” British actress Cara Delevingne sat down for a guest appearance on “Good Day Sacramento” the morning after the final premiere for the film, but she and the morning show hosts just could not play nice with each other.

Things likely got off to a bad start when one of the anchors mistakenly called her “Carla,” and everything just went downhill from there.

Delevingne was asked if she’d ever read the book the movie is based on, and she snarkily replied, “No, I never read the book or the script. I just winged it.”

Another co-host interrupted to ask if she had a problem, or if just was “just exhausted” from the premiere the night before.

The anchors then commented on how she was clearly unenthused to be in their presence, which was a stark comparison to other interviews she’s conducted.

“Maybe I had a bit more energy. It’s the morning,” Cara quipped, adding that this particular interview was being done right after the movie’s final premiere, which she described as “emotional.”

Another anchor told Cara that she seemed “irritated” and said “Perhaps it’s just us,” to which Delevingne replied, “No, I think it’s just you.”

Seemingly feeling offended, at that point, the same woman that said Cara seemed irritated said, “Well, on that note, we’ll let you go then. How about that? We’ll let you go take a little nap and maybe get a Red Bull, how about that?” as her co-anchors laughed with her.

A clearly annoyed Cara basically scoffed at them with her eyes and then the producers cut her live feed.

After the interview was cut short, the hosts made several comments expressing their frustration with the actress and her “attitude.”

But, honestly? It really seemed like they were baiting her to get those reactions, and they ganged up on her because they felt like her energy level wasn’t up to their standards.

“You make $5 million for six weeks’ worth of work, you can pretend to talk to Good Day Sacramento with some oomph,” one of the anchors said.

Cara Delevingne later took to Twitter defending herself, saying that her British sense of humor and sarcasm were misunderstood by the American TV hosts.

“Paper Towns” is a teen romance film based on the novel by John Green. Here’s a synopsis for the movie:

Young and shy Quentin (Nat Wolff) is in for the night of his life when Margo (Cara Delevingne), the most popular student in high school, recruits him to help her play mischievous pranks on the friends who betrayed her.

The next day, however, the mysterious Margo is nowhere to be found. With help from a few buddies and some cryptic clues that she left behind, Quentin embarks on an obsessive mission to find the girl who stole his heart and made him feel truly alive.

Chris Brown is a Third Wheel to Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill in “All Eyes On You” Video

Days after sparking a beef with Drake, Meek Mill released the video for his new single “All Eyes On You,” which features his girlfriend Nicki Minaj and their third wheel Chris Brown, who sings the song’s hook.

Directed by Benny Boom, the video is filled with scenes of Nicki and Meek showing off major PDA (making out in the bathroom, getting frisky in the bed, taking selfies together as she licks his ear, etc.) while Chris Brown is just off in the cut like a third wheel singing to himself.

“All Eyes On You” is the first single from Meek’s new album Dreams Worth More Than Money.

Hot 97’s Ebro Darden Trolls the Internet, Says Nas Isn’t a Lyricist

In what can only seen as a clever attempt to troll fans of Hip Hop, Ebro Darden of Hot 97 fame made a ridiculously bold statement on Twitter last Friday (Jul 24).

According to Old Man Ebro — a … “purveyor” of Hip Hop, if you will — Nas, in comparison to rappers like 2Pac, Biggie and even Jay Z, is NOT considered a lyricist; he’s just a rapper who has clever “word choice” and not “word play.”

https://twitter.com/oldmanebro/status/624636004989861888

Hip Hop DX explains Nas’ rap style very well here:

Nas dabbles in a number of different styles, but his penchant is streetwise first-person narratives. Sometimes they come in the form of a story (“One Love”; “Rewind”), and other times it’s just bars on bars (“It Ain’t Hard To Tell”; “If I Ruled The World”). He is a master of the craft and inspiration for dozens of today’s artists. On the other hand, he doesn’t frequent the puns or double entendres like Jay does. Nas, like Raekwon and Ghostface, touts an impressive vocabulary of SAT words and criminal slang (“Verbal Intercourse”). However, according to Ebro’s definitions, this makes Nas “lyrical,” which is not to be confused with being a “lyricist.”

Nas gets discredited here for not having concrete punchlines in his bars. He doesn’t abandon the style completely, though. Tracks like “Queens Get The Money” are loaded with wordplay: ““Nasty Nasdaq / Y’all going to bow holmes, it’s Dow Jones.” Rhymes like these aren’t what made him famous (“When I was 12, I went to hell for snuffin’ Jesus), but he’s still capable. In the end, Nas’s ability to articulate a message or story with descriptive imagery and word choice should qualify him as a lyricist.

The wordplay and word choice dichotomy, however, is an important outlier to this discussion. Ebro is right when he says Nas and Tupac are great with their choice of words. Towards the end of his life, Tupac was increasingly prophetic with his rhymes. He spoke bluntly and spiritually about good and evil, but his rhymes were never loaded with metaphors. They were, however, profound and poetic: “Institutionalized, I live my life a product made to crumble / But too hardened for a smile, we’re too crazy to be humble.” In making The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, Tupac utilized numerous biblical undertones and themes in his rhymes to convey a vibe. It worked. The album went Platinum five times and we’re still validating Tupac’s prophecy years after his death.

Perhaps the most controversial element of this debate is that according to Ebro, metaphors and wordplay fall under the umbrella of lyricism, while storytelling and delivery do not. The fact of the matter is, they are all of equal importance; different ends of the same totem pole. Lyricism should encompass each of the aforementioned facets, regardless of personal preference.

Of course Ebro’s comments sent Twitter into a frenzy:

Ebro’s response? Keep trolling.

Drake Really Sent Charlamagne 6 Bottles of Dom Pérignon Champagne

Hold up, did Drake really just send the Breakfast Club’s Charlamagne Tha God six bottles of Dom Pérignon champagne? According to Charlamagne’s own Instagram account, the answer to that question is YES!

Drake is apparently a man of his word, because in his new Meek Mill diss track Back to Back (the second diss track he’s released in one week) he rapped about buying bottles of champagne for Charlamagne, and he followed through by actually buying the bottles.

You gon’ make me step out of my fuckin’ frame
You gon’ make me buy bottles for Charlamagne
You gon’ make me go out of my fuckin’ way

“Look at this y’all, Drake really sent the bottles,” Charlamagne told his IG followers. He then read a note that was sent along with the bottles: “Let’s be friends, Aubrey Graham.”

In case you missed it, Charlamagne declared Hot 97 radio personality Funkmaster Flex was the “Donkey of the Day” after he failed to deliver on a promise to listeners that he would be releasing a diss track from Meek Mill.

It turned out the whole thing was just a ruse and Meek was trolling Drake fans, which ultimately made Funkmaster Flex look bad for taking Meek’s side in the beef.

“I want to thank you all for coming to celebrate the life of Aston George Taylor aka Pump Faker Flex aka Flex Hogan aka Funkmaster Flex,” Charlamagne said on the Breakfast Club Tuesday morning (Jul 28). “Our childhood has been ruined because another ’80s icon has proved that he’s not who we thought he was all these years.”

Drake has never been a fan of Charlamagne because of comments the infamous shock jock has made about him on the his popular Power 105.1 morning radio show, the “Breakfast Club.” And Charlamagne has made it clear on numerous occasions that Drake just isn’t his cup of tea.

Regarding Drake and their purported “beef,” Charlamagne told Noisey in an interview earlier this year:

“I don’t even know this guy. I’ve never met the guy. I saw him for the first time in person at Kanye West’s fashion show a couple weeks ago, I was actually standing right by him.

“I’m just not a fan. Listen, do I respect his talent? Absolutely. I think when he raps he’s one of the best, but I don’t like his singing. When he sings it sounds just Sondra from The Cosby Show. Whenever I express that it’s like ‘oh my god you’re a Drake hater. You don’t like Drake.’ I’m like, ‘that’s fine. I have the right not to like him.’

“I don’t care if he likes me or not, and I don’t have to like him. That’s the beauty of life. The beauty of life is that everybody has an opinion. I think he’s dope as a rapper, but I’m just not into it.”

Now it looks like Charlamagne and Drake are showing signs of solidarity.

Meek Mill? Funkmaster Flex? The balls are in your respective courts at this point.
