Tina Turner’s Firstborn Son Craig Dead From Suicide

Tina Turner’s eldest son Craig has died after committing suicide.

According to TMZ, Craig Raymond Turner died at his home in Studio City, California from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities reportedly pronounced him dead after arriving at his place around noon.

Tina gave birth to Craig when she was just 18 years old before she got married to Ike Turner. Ike adopted Craig after he and Tina married. Craig’s biological father was a saxophonist named Raymond Hill, who performed with Ike’s band.

The sad news of Craig’s death comes as Tina—who lives in Switzerland—was attending Paris Fashion Week events. Craig was in the real estate business in California’s San Fernando Valley.

He was 59 years old.

DeMarcus Cousins Joins Golden State Warriors With 1-Year $5.3 Million Deal

DeMarcus Cousins must really want a ring because, in a surprise move, the free agent center has taken a massive pay cut to sign with the Golden State Warriors.

According to ESPN, Cousin’s new contract with the Warriors is only for a year and is worth $5.3 million—which is much less than the nearly $18 million he got in the 2017-18 season for playing with the New Orleans Pelicans. So it looks like Cousins, who has battled injury issues and has played in less than 70 games combined over the past two seasons, values winning a championship over making money. For the Warriors, already with a staggering lineup of All-NBA talent, the addition of Cousins gives him even more time to comfortably recover from his injury prior to returning to the court next season.

Sources told ESPN’s Chris Haynes that Cousins had narrowed his choices down to Golden State and Boston.

News of Cousins joining the Warriors comes barely 24 hours after news broke that LeBron James had signed with the Lakers for a four-year $154 million contract.

Steph Curry seems pretty excited, as does Andre Iguodala, who both welcomed Cousins to the team with open arms.

LeBron may be regretting joining the Lakers now though, because not only does his team have to play the Warriors four times per season, but they could also end up meeting in the Western Conference Finals. If he doesn’t round up enough key players to take on the Warriors, he might miss out on playing in the Finals for the first time since 2010.

Cousins is expected to start back playing by December/January, which gives him more than enough time to prepare for the 2019 NBA Playoffs

Rumor Control: XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Dedrick Williams Was NOT Raped & Assaulted in Jail

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, reports that XXXTentacion’s murder suspect was raped in a Florida jail are NOT true.

TMZ says that law enforcement officials at BSO told them the story floating around the internet over the past few days saying that 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams was raped in the Broward County jail facility is “flat-out false.”

The report from the website Hip Hop Overload cited someone claiming to work in the Dade County Jail system who said that Williams was “getting a shower when he was ambushed with an attempted rape.”

BSO’s Public Information Officer Veda Coleman-Wright said the story was “unfounded” and that none of what was said didn’t happen. Basically, Williams was NOT physically assaulted nor was he raped.

Two weeks ago today (Mon, Jun. 18), XXXTentacion was shot to death outside of RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Police were able to track Williams down and arrest him because he was seen wearing the same orange sandals he had on when he allegedly took part in the shooting death of the 20-year-old rapper on Instagram. He’s being held without bail.

Police have reportedly identified a second person of interest in XXX’s murder case, a 22-year-old man named Robert Allen, who was captured on surveillance video at the same motorcycle shop where X was gunned down. Investigators haven’t released the name of the third person involved, who they’re still looking for.

Last week, XXX’s family, friends, and fans celebrated his life with two separate services—a public memorial service held Wednesday (Jun. 27) at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL, which was attended by thousands of the rapper’s fans, and a private funeral held the next day.

“Power” Season 5 Premiere Recap (Episode 1): Rest in Peace Raina, Hopefully Dre & Tariq Will Be Joining You Soon

After “Power” Season 4 ended on a tragic note, “Power” Season 5 focuses on the St. Patrick family trying to put the pieces back together and heal from the untimely death of their teenage daughter Raina.

Raina’s twin Tariq, who is the most responsible for her death after his encounters with crooked police officer Raymond Jones a.k.a. Ray Ray, hasn’t learned anything from her passing and is still playing with fire.

The only good thing that has come from Raina’s death is it ended up bringing Ghost, Tommy and Kanan back together on the same team to take out their one common enemy Dre. Tasha, on the other hand, is still struggling with Raina’s death and is trying to keep enough strength to be the backbone of the family, while balancing her relationship with Ghost’s new lawyer, Terry Silver.

This new season definitely seems like it’s going to have a lot of twists and turns and hopefully for everyone’s sake will end with Dre being killed for his disloyalty and backstabbing.

Power‘s Season 5 premiere episode opens with Angela having flashbacks and almost going into a panic attack at the crime scene of officer Raymond Jones a.k.a. “Ray Ray” because she thinks Ghost is responsible for his death.

Last season, Angela helped Tasha find Tariq’s whereabouts after he went missing, which makes her believe she may have unintentionally given away Ray Ray’s location to Ghost and Tasha. In reality, we know Tariq is the one who actually killed Ray Ray to avenge his sister’s death in the Season 4 finale, but at this moment Angela is unaware of that. Angela knows that if she did give Ray Ray’s location to Ghost and Tasha, she can be in a whole heap of trouble.

While Angela is trying to keep her involvement with Tasha on the hush, a new character named Blanca Rodriguez, who is a member of NYPD’s Internal Affairs, is introduced to the show. Rodriguez is working on the Raymond Jones case and happens to notice Angela at the crime scene. She later goes to Angela’s office to confront her about being at the crime scene and questions her about not putting her name on the sign-out sheet, which is a violation of NYPD protocol.

Angela tells Rodriguez that she slipped up and forget to sign the form and didn’t personally know Officer Jones, but he came on her radar shortly before he went missing. Rodriguez can tell Angela is lying and is up to no good, and we can already tell that she is going to be watching Ms. Valdes very closely throughout this season.

Dre is back on on the BS and early on in the episode, he notices Angela leaving the building where Ray Ray stays at with a load of cops cars. This causes Dre to get nervous and he calls Tariq to find out what happened, but Tariq tells him he can’t talk at the moment. Dre then calls Cristobal and tells him they have a problem and need to meet up.

The scene shifts to Tasha returning home (we’re guessing this is not too long after Tariq shot Ray Ray) and LaKeisha is there waiting on her. Tasha tells LaKeisha she needs her to say that she and Tariq were at the house the whole night if anybody asks. LaKeisha is confused as to why Tasha is asking her to give an alibi and wants more answers, but Tasha is unwilling to say too much.

Meanwhile, Ghost, Tommy, and Kanan hang out together and devise a plan to take out Dre. Ghost is somewhat hesitant to have Kanan around and asks him how can they trust him, to which Kanan reminds Ghost he is the one who set him on fire and if he wanted to, he could have shot him and Tommy long ago. Ghost seems to agree and keeps Kanan along for the ride.

Maria Suarez, the woman who was blindfolded while her fiance was murdered by Ghost in the series pilot, sits down and speaks with Detective Saxe and Tameika Robinson (the new U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District) about identifying James St. Patrick as Ghost. Suarez became aware of St. Patrick being Ghost after hearing his voice during an interview he did on TV in Season 4.

While Suarez actually knows what she is talking about, assistant U.S. Attorney John Mak reminds Saxe and Robinson that Suarez never saw Ghost and they can’t prove anything by her simply hearing a voice. Robinson agrees with Mak and refuses to move forward with Suarez’s statement until Angela weighs in, but Saxe wants to keep all things related to Ghost away from Angela.

While Saxe is busy throwing Angela under the bus, Angela meets up with Tasha to confront her about Ray Ray’s death. Angela tells Tasha she believes she tricked her into giving Ray Ray’s location away and that she thinks Tasha told Ghost to kill him.

When Angela threatens to turn Tasha and Ghost in and testify against them, Tasha finally reveals to Angela that Tariq stole her gun and killed Ray Ray. Angela is more than shocked to hear this news and informs Tasha that she just came from the crime scene, where a bullet was pulled from the wall. This is really bad news for Tasha and Angela because it can get them both caught up.

Angela asks Tasha where the gun is, and Tasha tells her it’s gone and to just report the gun as stolen. But, the problem is, when Angela executed a search warrant last season to go through Ghost and Tasha’s home, Tasha’s gun was taken by the police and a ballistics test was run on it, putting it in the system. This leads Tasha to ask Angela the biggest favor she has ever asked her: to delete the records of the gun, in order to save everybody (including herself) from going down. She’s already lost one child and doesn’t want to lose another one. Can you blame her?

Tommy is really stepping up so far this season and proving his loyalty to Ghost ever since he decided to put the blow down and stop questioning Ghost’s every move. He quickly checks Kanan about his involvement with Tariq and advises him to stay away from his nephew or else. He even manages to keep his cool after Councilman Tate threw shade on him at Raina’s funeral and told Ghost to not let him sit with the family because he could mess up his image.

Tariq, on the other hand… boy boy boy, he hasn’t changed not one. Damn. Bit. He is still f-boy of the century, and, besides Dre, is probably the worst person on the show. I mean, he basically was responsible for his twin sister’s murder, after all. And honestly, if Tariq got killed tomorrow, I don’t think anybody would shed a tear or give one single f***.

His nonchalant, emotionless, and uninterested attitude when questioned by Ghost and Tasha about his involvement with Ray Ray is just downright disrespectful. One of the best scenes in this episode is when Ghost finally got enough and jacked Tariq’s wannabe thug azz up and pinned him against the wall in the hallway of their house.

And the nerve of Tariq to stare Ghost in the eyes like he’s really about that life and acting like he wasn’t about to just catch the fade made it even harder to care for, like, or rock with Tariq’s campaign.

Tariq pissed Ghost off so bad that he went off on Tasha for not watching him and letting him just roam the streets with Kanan and drink lean all day. But if that was enough to hate Tariq, the mess he pulled at the funeral was a point of no return.

After Tommy went through the trouble of hiring the Italians to kill Dre and Kanan getting his boys to join in on the fun as well, Tariq warns Dre about the hits put out on him and saves Dre from getting a hot piece of lead put in his head. And not only did Tariq warn Dre, but he fake cried while giving the eulogy at Rain’s funeral to save a f*** n**** who all this time is plotting to take his father’s spot and was also just in a shootout with his father as well. If this is not enough to write Tariq out of your heart, I don’t know what the hell is.

Speaking of the shootout, which was one of the most exciting and nerve-wracking scenes of the episode, Dre really thought he took Ghost out with that weak azz gunshot. Even Tommy joked about how Dre can’t shoot worth a damn. Even though Kanan came through just in the nick of time and fired back at Dre, Cristobal and their goons with his big azz gun, at the same time, it makes you wonder did he miss them on purpose? Or was he just trying to get them to back off? Only time will tell.

Ghost crying in the shower over Raina’s death after being shot was a quick tear-jerker. Anytime Ghost cries, it makes you feel bad because Ghost is probably the strongest person on the show and never shows his weak side, but every now and then in rare moments like this.

Even though Tasha and Ghost are far from being a couple ever again, Tasha still cares about him dearly and warned him if he gets killed fooling around with Dre she will never forgive him for leaving her and their two kids (Tariq’s punk azz and the other baby girl we barely see) behind. It’s good to see Tasha and Ghost putting their differences aside and trying to remain strong for their family following Raina’s death.

Besides Raina’s funeral and Tariq saving Dre, perhaps the most upsetting part of the episode comes at the very end when Dre shows up to Raina’s gravesite while Ghost is grieving over the fact that he just had to put his child in the ground.

Dre, who is fresh from almost losing his life and luckily being able to escape from Kanan’s goons and the Italians, tells Ghost he is protected by the Jimenez cartel and threatens to kill Ghost and his family if he doesn’t back off. Dre goes so far to put a La Araña card in Ghost’s shirt pocket as he stands there. This only angers Ghost, who happened to not be strapped at the time (Dre is lucky) even more and he rips the whole card in half.

Elsewhere, Tommy returns to his home to find a La Araña card at his door and Kanan finds one on his car once he leaves the club with a chick. The only thing that made the ending not so bad was when Angela finally deleted the evidence of Tasha’s gun out of the system. But, then at the same time, it’s hard not to feel bad for D. Gaines, whose name Angela logged in under in the system. She might get this person caught up bad!

Extras:

  • Rodriguez finds Angela’s card when she goes to meet with Officer Raymond Jones’ cousin Destiny and this is definitely going to be an issue later on because Ray Ray’s cousin lied about meeting with her. Angela’s new boss Tameika Robinson also didn’t buy Angela’s alibi about her being asleep the night she called her. Angela better watch her back because everybody is on to her.
  • Tommy is going to have to answer to Vincent about the Italians getting shot after he hired them behind his back.
  • Just like Dre, Councilman Tate isn’t going to be around for too much longer. He is sneaky and conniving and everything he does is to use Ghost for his own political gain.
  • Tasha’s mother was not happy seeing her kissing Ghost’s lawyer Terry Silver. They’re lucky Ghost wasn’t the one who caught them.

LeBron James Signs 4-Year $154 Million Deal With Los Angeles Lakers

He really did it. LeBron James is taking his talents out West to play for the Los Angeles Lakers after signing a 4-year deal with the team worth $154 million.

Bron’s agency, Klutch Sports Group, made the big announcement Sunday evening (Jul. 1) via Twitter.

The news should come as no surprise to anyone who’s been following James the past few months. And after the Cleveland Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals for the second year in the row (and the third time over the past four seasons), the writing was pretty much on the wall.

James officially became an unrestricted free agent Friday after opting out of his contract with the Cavaliers Friday and declining a $35.6 million contract option for next season.

Magic Johnson, who is currently the president of basketball operations of the Lakers, is said to have engaged in immediate talks with LeBron as soon as he landed in Los Angeles on Saturday.

It isn’t clear who else might be joining LeBron, but the word on the curb is that the Lakers are trying to get Kawhi Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs to sign with them, which shouldn’t be too hard after snagging King James.

Now that LeBron is playing for a Western team, it’ll be interesting to see which squad will land in the 2019 NBA Finals—between the Lakers, the Warriors and the Houston Rockets.

LeBron is expected to make an official announcement about his new team on Tuesday.

XXXTentacion Left Everything to His Mom & Brothers in Will Drafted Months Before Tragic Shooting Death

Though XXXTentacion had no idea when he was going to die, he definitely was prepared for the worse, because months before he was shot to death, at the young age of 19 years old, he took the time to write out a last will and testament.

The Blast obtained court records showing that the rapper’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, filed the probate case for his estate on June 25th. The probate filing included an 11-page will that was signed and executed on November 17th, 2017, roughly 7 months before he died.

TMZ was able to get ahold of the actual document, which revealed that XXX left all of his property in a trust, with his mom as the trustee. The will, which was drafted long before X’s girlfriend became pregnant with his child (as revealed by his mom via Instagram), doesn’t list any children, leaving everything to his mom and two brothers. X’s mother also requested to be the administrator of his estate.

XXXTentacion was laid to rest Thursday following a private funeral service attended by close friends and family. The day before, thousands of XXX fans traveled to Sunrise, FL to say their last goodbyes at an open casket public memorial at the BB&T Center.

XXX was murdered June 18th, 2018 in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Within days, one of the three men responsible for his shooting death, 22-year-old South Florida tattoo artist Dedrick Williams, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Broward County Jail with no bond. Police are still looking for the other two suspects, one of whom is a 22-year-old man named Robert Allen.

Woman Who Riled Up Twitter With “33 Abortions” Tweet Says She Was Just Joking

A woman who set social media on fire this weekend with a tweet celebrating her engagement “after being a side hoe for 6 years” and having “33 abortions” says she was just joking.

On Thursday (Jun. 28), Twitter user @empyreall went viral on the internet after she tweeted a photo of her hand with an engagement ring, and wrote: “After being the side hoe for 6 years, 33 abortions, and putting his mama in the hospital after running her over in a jeep Cherokee after she called me by his actual girflriends name, he proposed and I said YES!!!”

Upon first glance, anyone with common sense should be able to tell that she wasn’t being serious, because, aside from the “side hoe for 6 years” comment, 1.) who brags about getting 33 abortions? And 2.) why would she boast about running over her future mother-in-law and putting her in the hospital?

Folks didn’t even take the time to visit her profile either, which says “screenwriter, sports enthusiast, movie fanatic, sarcastic a**hole, Lebron stan, gap toothed goddess & avid bat bitch.”

And besides that, 33 abortions over six years? That would equal to at least 5 abortions per year, which is about one every other month. I believe that at some point the abortion clinic(s) she was going to would look at her like, “GIRL… Do you need some birth control or Plan B or something? Because abortions are not supposed to be used as contraceptives.”

A number of websites also ran with the story, which also gave it legs and made people believe it even more. And while some were able to understand right off the bat she was joking, others were not amused.

The tweet gained so much traction that @empyreall had to follow-up and let people know that she was JK: “so….y’all do know this is a joke right? LMAOOOOO.” She added, “I laid the sarcasm on thick and people still believing me.”

“So let me make this PERFECTLY clear. I have NOT been a side chick for 6 years,” she said in another tweet. “Nor have I had 33 abortions. NOR am I engaged. IDK why y’all take dark humor from twitter and run with it. But if you gone make articles about it, put the tweet that said it was a joke too.”

She also updated her bio with this: “I DID NOT HAVE 33 ABORTIONS I WAS TROLLIN.”

Twitter seemed relieved that the whole thing was just a joke, with some expressing shock that they didn’t know that from the jump:

Life comes at you fast! The word on the street is that the man who was arrested for his alleged involvement in XXXTentacion’s murder was attacked in prison, and it doesn’t sound too good.

According to reports floating around the internet, Dedrick Williams—one of three men who robbed and shot XXXTentacion to death—was raped in Broward County Jail, and the word is that incarcerated Florida rapper Kodak Black had something to do with it.

The website Hip-Hop Overload quotes a reliable source who works in the Dade County Jail system. According to them, the alleged rape and assault happened Wednesday, the same day a public memorial was held for XXXTentacion at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL.

Word we got from our informant is that he was told Dedrick was getting a shower when he was ambushed with an attempted rape, which in jail is the ultimate sign of disrespect. We are told that Kodak Black people may have had something to do with it. This makes total sense because XXXTentacion and Kodak Black are extremely tight friends like brothers.

One has to think if the assault was calculated to happen the day of XXXTentacion’s memorial which was held at the BB&T Center in Broward County today [Wed, Jun. 28]. We are currently trying to get pictures of the assault once we do we will be sure to share them all. As you see we are told Dedrick was beaten down pretty bad.

HHO also provided screenshots from a text message exchange with their informant. “They got him today! XXXTentacion’s killer, [they] got him in [the] shower! Got him pretty bad. Rape and all,” reads the thread. “Word I got is [Kodak Black’s] people [did it]. Had to move Dedrick to PC [Protective Custody]. It was bad.”

What’s surprising is that Williams, 22, wasn’t already in protective custody, considering how high profile his case is. There are no credible reports to back HHO’s story up, but, then again, the mainstream media doesn’t usually report on prison violence anyway, especially rape.

Police are still looking for the other two men responsible for XXXTentacion’s shooting death.

Welp, Here They Are: The FIRST PHOTOS of Drake’s Newborn Son Adonis!

Thanks to the release of Drake’s latest album Scorpion, the mystery behind whether Drake was hiding a child has officially been solved. In not just one, not two, but THREE songs from the project, Drake confirms that yes, he IS the father of Baby Adonis, and even though he doesn’t outright mention neither Adonis nor his former porn star baby mama Sophie Brussaux’s name, we know exactly who he’s talking about.

In “Emotionless”—a song featured on the “A Side” of Scorpion, Drake raps, “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world/I was hidin’ the world from my kid/From empty souls who just wake up and looked to debate/Until you starin’ at your seed, you can never relate.”

He adds, “Breakin’ news in my life, I don’t run to the blogs/The only ones I wanna tell are the ones I can call/They always ask, ‘Why let the story run if it’s false?’ You know a wise man once said nothin’ at all.”

Drake is basically saying that by not revealing that he has a son, he was protecting Adonis from the scrutiny from the world that comes along with being the lovechild of the biggest rapper alive. He also explains why he never confirmed set the record straight on the reports that he denied the child and was a deadbeat father, which were perpetuated by Pusha T’s “Story of Adidon” diss track.

Drizzy also addresses his relationship with his now 8-month-old son Adonis’ mother by referencing Michael Jackson’s hit “Billie Jean” in the song “March 14″—which is the last track on the album and is featured on the “B Side.”

“She’s not my lover like Billie Jean but the kid is mine / Sandi used to tell me all it takes is one time, and all it took was one time / Sh**, we only met two times, two times,” he raps. Here, he’s saying that his mother, Sandi Graham, warned him that it only took one instance of unprotected sex to make a baby, and in his case, it was two.

He continues, “Now it’s rough times, I’m out here on front lines / Just tryin’ to make sure that I see him sometimes / It’s breakin’ my spirit / Single father, I hate when I hear it / I used to challenge my parents on every album / Now I’m embarrassed to tell them I ended up as a co-parent / Always promised the family unit / I wanted it to be different because I’ve been through it.”

Drake’s saying that he always wanted to have a family, but because he grew up in a single-parent household, he’s never wanted that for his children. Instead, he wanted to do things the so-called “right way” by fathering children with his wife. He also talks about how his busy schedule doesn’t allow him to see his son as much as he would like.

On “March 14,” Drake confirms that Adonis was born on October 11th, just two weeks before his own birthday on October 24th, and he says he celebrated in Miami when the DNA test confirmed that he was the boy’s father on March 14th, hence the track’s title.

Drake also reveals that he while he rushed out and bought a crib for his son, he’s only met him once at Christmas time, confirming reports that he flew Adonis and Sophia out via private jet for the Holidays last year. “I only met you one time, introduced you to Saint Nick / I think he musta brought you like 20 gifts / Your mother say you growin’ so fast that they don’t even really fit / But man, you know / I still had to get it for my boy though.”

The rapper goes on to say that he’s looking forward to another visit and he hopes that his relationship with Sophie improves: “They said that in two weeks you’re supposed to come in town / Hopefully by the time you hear this / Me and your mother will have come around/Instead of always cuttin’ each other down.”

Drake addresses the topic for a third time on the track “8 Out of 10,” which is also what fans believe is a direct response to the Pusha T diss track: “The only deadbeats is whatever beats I been rappin’ to,”he raps, followed by “Never a matter of ‘could I?’ or ‘should I?’ / Kiss my son on the forehead then kiss your ass goodbye.”

The song concludes with audio from a viral Plies video in which the rapper talks about refusing to argue with people: “I can’t argue wit you. You mad … I don’t get paid to argue with you… who is you? You ain’t nobody. You mad!”

Who knows whether Drake would have even mentioned Adonis if Pusha T hadn’t forced his hand, but the good thing is that Drake is definitely stepping up and at least trying to be a father to the kid.

That being said, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the child. Hell, we don’t even know if his name is really Adonis, but thanks to some new photos shared online, we do have a first glimpse at what Drake’s firstborn looks like.

Though Sophie has declined to show off her child to the rest of the world, the internet will always internet and pull out those receipts. The photos posted here don’t reveal a whole lot, but it’s the only real first look we have of Adonis and shows more of his face than the original photos Sophie posted on her Instagram.

It looks like these photos were taken shortly after Sophie gave birth, as she can be seen wearing a hospital bracelet in one of the pics. Adonis is now 8 months old and probably looks very different.

Nearly three months after the Cleveland Cavaliers player blocked the reality star on the Instagram amid his cheating scandal drama, Kim and Tristan have called a digital truce.

Kim and Tristan were celebrating Khloe Kardashian’s 34th birthday Wednesday in Los Angeles, and Kim used that moment as an opportunity to ask Tristan to unblock her on Instagram.

“Alright, guys, so what do you think? It’s Khloe’s birthday—do you think I should ask this guy to unblock me?” Kim asked her followers in an Instagram Stories video pointing at Tristan in the background. “For Khloe’s birthday, I think it’s only right,” the 27-year-old NBA player responded as they both laughed. “So, uh, was that a yes?” Kim asked.

Thompson gave the camera two thumbs up and proceeded to go through the motions of unblocking Kim while she filmed it. “There’s no going back,” she told him. “Now, the question is: Should I follow you again?”

Making matters even more awkward was when Kim noticed Tristan had also blocked Khloe’s friends Khadijah and Malika Haqq and she shouted to them, “You guys! Did you know that he blocked you also?!”

Tristan blocked Kim on IG several months back after Kim addressed Tristan’s cheating allegations on an April episode of The Ellen Degeneres show. Just a few days after the TV appearance, the two unfollowed each other, with Kim hinting at their social media drama no too long after when she was asked about the cheating scandal on Live With Kelly and Ryan.

“Last time I went on TV and answered some questions about her, I got blocked on social media so…” she told the co-hosts. “Not from Khloe,” she clarified.

Now, months later, it looks like Tristan Thompson is back in the Kardashian family’s good graces.

XXXTentacion Laid to Rest in Private Funeral Service Attended by Friends & Family

XXXTentacion’s friends and family said their finals goodbyes to the rapper Thursday (Jun. 29) during a private funeral service in Florida.

Unlike the public memorial service that was attended by fans the day before, Thursday’s service was just for the “SAD!” rapper’s close friends and family. Among those in attendance included Erykah Badu and “Cash Me Ousside Girl” Danielle Bregoli (also known by her rap name Bhad Bhabie).

“LONG LIVE XXX,” Badu wrote along with a heart emoji while showing the funeral program. “‘They may try to erase your face But millions spring up in your place.’ -e.b.”

Bregoli, who made headlines last week after she broke down crying while talking to TMZ about her late friend, apparently took the service pretty hard. “Out of this short 15 years I’ve been alive watching that casket close today was the hardest thing I have ever had to watch,” she wrote on Snapchat. “I finally feel a little better that I got to say goodbye and tell you I love you for the last time.”

Nima Etminan, Vice President of EMPIRE, the record label XXX was signed to, recalled a quote the rapper’s great-grandmother said during the private funeral service. “In life, you can wait for storms to pass, or instead you can learn to dance in the rain,” she shared with the crowd. “Jah danced in the rain.”

XXXTentacion’s mom, Cleopatra Bernard, also posted about her son’s funeral on Instagram. “Goodbye my love, until we meet again,” she wrote.

The day before the private service, XXX was memorialized in a 6-hour open casket public service attended by thousands of his biggest fans at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida.

According to reports, mourners traveled from all over the country to pay their last respects to the rapper (real name: Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy) who was shot and killed last Monday in Deerfield Beach. The turnout was so large that many people opted to arrive as early as 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, about five hours before doors opened. Many were pictured breaking down in tears.

A number of celebrities were spotted at the public service, including rappers Lil Uzi Vert, PNB Rock, Lil Yachty and more. During the memorial, DJ Scheme, XXX’s producer and personal DJ, played the rapper’s music, and in between tracks, fans were treated to motivational words from his past viral videos.

A video montage of his performances played on two giant screens on the stage and the scoreboard in the middle of the arena. Two large photos of the rapper were placed on each end of the stage where his casket was.

“It was the most perfect thing for Jah,” Scheme told Billboard. “It described everything he was perfectly. These fans are our family so it’s nothing to show them his body. He would want that. I promise Jah was looking down at that event today with a huge smile.”

Cameras and cell phones were not allowed into the building, but those who attended were able to describe what XXX was wearing in his casket—a denim button down jacket and burgundy pants, with his signature locks braided.

Lil Uzi Vert and Lil Yachty stood by the casket with X’s mother, who would periodically pause the line so that X’s famous friends could have their own private time with him. Ugly God was “visibly heartbroken” as he walked up to the casket and eventually became “inconsolable,” according to Billboard.

Tiurakh$ushii—a rapper form Lauderhill, FL and childhood friend of X—spoke to reporters outside the venue, saying that he didn’t want to go in and look at his friend inside his casket. “I don’t want to see my boy like that,” he told the Sun-Sentinel.

The official video for XXXTentacion’s single “SAD!” was released Thursday morning. The video, written and creative directed by X, shows him attending his own funeral and fighting with his resurrected body. The song recently became the first posthumous No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 for a lead solo artist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.

Of the three men allegedly responsible for XXXTentacion’s shooting death, one was arrested last Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder. Dedrick Williams is being held in the Broward County Jail without bond, while his accomplices have warrants out for their arrest.

JAY-Z Wonders Why XXXTentacion Was Killed & George Zimmerman Wasn’t in New Drake Collab “Talk Up”

According to JAY-Z, when a group of masked men shot and killed rapper XXXTentacion last week in Florida, they got the wrong guy. It should have been George Zimmerman, JAY-Z raps in a new song with Drake on the latter’s newly released album Scorpion.

Drake released his new album Scorpion last night, and social media LOVED it. Drizzy is definitely spitting bars throughout the project, but one standout line actually comes from his friendly rival JAY-Z on the song “Talk Up.”

On the DJ Paul-produced track, Jay namedrops rapper XXXTentacion and Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman, wondering why the former isn’t alive and the latter still is. He also mentions how he’ll never sit down with that orange motherf***er who’s currently the POTUS.

“I got your president tweeting / I won’t even met with him / Y’all killed X and let Zimmerman live, Streets is done,” JAY-Z raps, referencing how XXXTentacion was killed in broad daylight by his own people, while Zimmerman, who unjustly killed a young black boy, is able to while around here free as a bird and bragging about how he basically got away with murder in between run-ins with the law.

The line was such a big hit with social media that the name “Zimmerman” was a trending topic for a few hours:

This wouldn’t be the first time Hov has mentioned George Zimmerman either. After Zimmerman threatened to “beat” the Brooklyn rapper back in 2017, Jay responded on “Top Off,” featuring his wife Beyoncé, Future and DJ Khaled.

John McNamara: Remembering the Slain Capital Gazette Sports Writer

John McNamara, a widely regarded and respected veteran reporter at The Capital Gazette newspaper and editor of other local papers, was among the five people killed Thursday (Jun. 28) when a gunman opened fire in the paper’s newsroom.

Born and raised in Maryland, John McNamara, who went by the nickname “Mac,” graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1983, and spent the next few decades of his life in journalism, contributing to local newspapers with a particular focus in sports reporting.

A former colleague of McNamara described him as an old-school reporter.

“Definitely a pen and paper guy,” said David Elfin, who co-wrote a book on University of Maryland basketball with McNamara. “He didn’t wear a fedora, but maybe he should have.”

On social media, McNamara was an advocate for gun control and regularly spoke out against President Donald Trump. He was remembered for his love of sports reporting, his wit and his versatility.

“At a small paper like that, you have to be versatile,” former Capital Gazette editor Gerry Jackson said. “He could write. He could edit. He could design pages. He was just a jack of all trades and a fantastic person.”

A profile on McNamara in the Baltimore Sun described how he switched from a copy editor to a sports reporter, which was his dream job. According to the Sun, he was “remembered by his colleagues for his flexibility, concise writing and extensive knowledge of regional sports. He had a razor wit.”

McNamara enjoyed playing sports as much as he enjoyed writing about them, Jackson said. He was a part of a group who played basketball on Thursdays at the Annapolis Recreation Center. “He had this sneaky left-handed shot,” said Jackson, now an editor at The Baltimore Sun.

Reporter Claudia Rosenbaum wrote on Twitter: “I worked with John McNamara at a small local Maryland paper when I was starting out. He was the sports editor. I remember speaking to him about becoming a sports writer, even though I had no knowledge or interest in sports. Despite all that, he still encouraged me. Very sad.”

Another wrote, “John McNamara was the true essence of journalism—unbiased, strictly to inform the public type of storyteller. He was a really good guy. This is devastating. Prayers to his family, friends and loved ones. But it feels like prayers are just not enough.”

Marc Carig, Senior MLB writer for subscription-based sports website The Athletic, said, “John McNamara is one of the kindest people I’ve met in this biz. We’ve been friends since I was a young journalist covering Terps basketball. I had no idea what I was doing. He showed me the ropes. Please keep John and the other #CapitalGazette victims in your thoughts tonight.” He added, “John McNamara is one of the best people I’ve met in journalism. He was a great friend. I’m heartbroken. My thoughts are with his family and the rest of the victims of his horrible tragedy in Annapolis … Just so f***ing senseless.

McNamara discussed current events on Facebook, writing recently, “To anyone reading this: I cannot urge you strongly enough to see the two documentaries now out featuring Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Mr. Rogers. Seeing these two films will do you some serious good. Both are marvelous and moving. And, in these troubled times, when the forces of darkness seem to have gained the upper hand, it’s nice to be reminded that there is still justice and kindness in the world. You can thank me later…”

A post on June 19th, 2018 read: “Are we not all God’s children?”

Earlier this month, on June 4th, 2018, he quoted Theodore Roosevelt, writing: “No man is above the law and no man is below it: nor do we ask any man’s permission when we ask him to obey it.”

He also quoted Robert F. Kennedy in a 2017 post, writing, “What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but is love, and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black.”

On some posts, he would get political. “Trump’s next move in his quest to erase Obama’s legacy: Declaring Hawaii’s no longer a state,” he shared on May 8th, 2018. And sometimes he would write about his life as a journalist. One post from March 2018 read, “Writing for a newspaper is like having a paper due every day of your life.”

His last post on Facebook, written on Tuesday morning (Jun. 26), quoted an African proverb that states “Where there is no shame, there is no honor.”

According to his biography on The Capital Gazette’s website, McNamara—who edited the Bowie Blade-News and the Crofton-West County Gazette—”worked in various capacities” for the newspaper “for more than 20 years.” His LinkedIn page said he was a sports writer for The Capital Gazette.

In addition to sportswriting and reporting, McNamara also authored several books about Maryland sports, namely Maryland basketball and football. The books are for sale on Amazon. According to his Facebook page, he was working on his third book at the time of his death.

John McNamara was 56 years old.

Jarrod Ramos: Fast Facts About Capital Gazette Newspaper Shooting Suspect

Police said a 38-year-old man has been identified as the suspected gunman who opened fire at the Capital Gazette Newspaper office in Maryland Thursday (Jun. 28), killing at least five people and injuring several others in a “targeted attack” on the news organization.

The suspected gunman, identified by NBC News as Jarrod Ramos, is in police custody, but has not yet been charged. Police were executing search warrants at his home in Laurel, Maryland.

“Multiple Casualties” Reported in Shooting at Capital Gazette Newspaper Building in Maryland

According to NBC News, Ramos had a history with the paper, and had previously filed a defamation lawsuit against it in 2012. The suit was dismissed the following year and was upheld in 2015 by a Maryland appellate court.

Acting Anne Arundel County Police Chief William Krampf said at a press briefing that Ramos “was prepared to shoot people. His intent was to cause harm.” Krampf said it would take time to determine Ramos’ motive and to complete the investigation.

Prior to the shooting, Threats were made to the Capital Gazette via social media, but police are working to find out if they were sent by Ramos, Krampf said, adding that authorities don’t believe Ramos was specifically targeting anyone at the newspaper, just the newsroom itself.

Authorities said the suspect has not been “forthcoming” with interrogators. “The investigation has just started,” Krampf said. “We’re going to be quite a while in determining what occurred, why it occurred, how it occurred.”

The shooting occurred around 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Capital Gazette newsroom just outside of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Officials declined to provide details about the weapon that was used, other than saying it was a “long gun.”

Law enforcement also identified that they believed was an explosive device on the scene. More than 170 people were evacuated from the building after the shooting, Anne Arundel County Executive Steve Schuh told reporters at a briefing following the shooting.

According to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, law enforcement responded to the incident within 60 seconds. A crime reporter at the Gazette provided horrific details about the shooting via his Twitter account in the moments after it occurred.

“Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad,” crime reporter Phil Davis tweeted. “There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”

President Donald Trump tweeted that he had briefed on the shooting and that his thoughts and prayers were with the victims and their families.

The Capital Gazette has been around since 1884 and is a daily newspaper that serves the city of Annapolis Maryland. Its sister newspaper, the Maryland Gazette, which was founded in 1727, is one of the newspapers in the United States.

The Capital Gazette building is home to several publications, including The Capital, the Maryland Gazette, the Bowie Blade-News, the Crofton-West County Gazette and Capital Style Magazine, along with CapitalGazette.com. Other businesses, including a medical office, are also located in the building.

The Capital Gazette and the Maryland Gazette are both owned by the Baltimore Sun Media Group, which is owned by Tribune Publishing. Police also responded to check the Baltimore Sun newsrooms as a precautionary measure in the wake of the shooting.

Capital reporter Chase Cook tweeted after the shooting: “I can tell you this: We are putting out a damn paper tomorrow.”

Here’s what you need to know about Jarrod Ramos and the Capital Gazette Newspaper shooting:

1Witnesses said the gunman shot through a glass door and opened fire on people inside the newsroom.

Police said the suspected gunman, Jarrod Ramos, used smoke grenades when he entered the building armed with a shotgun.

Around 2:40 p.m. Thursday, an intern at the newspaper, Anthony Messenger, tweeted: “Active shooter 888 Bestgate please help us.” Messenger is okay, according to a co-worker, who also said that John McNamara, a writer for the Capital Gazette, had been shot. McNamara was confirmed as one of the five victims fatally shot.

Reporter Phil Davis confirmed to the Baltimore Sun, which owns the Capital Gazette, that there was a shooting and multiple people had been shot.

Davis told the Baltimore Sun it was “like a war zone,” and the situation is something that will be “hard to describe for a while.” He added, “I”’m a police reporter. I write about this stuff—not necessarily to this extent, but shootings and death—all the time … But as much as I’m going to try to articulate how traumatizing it is to be hiding under your desk, you don’t know until you’re there and you feel helpless.”

Davis told the newspaper the shooter stopped on his own and police then arrived and surrounded him. “I don’t know why. I don’t know why he stopped,” he said.

Joshua McKerrow, a photojournalist for the Baltimore Sun and the Capital Gazette tweeted along with photos from the scene: “Massive police response to shooting in my newsroom in Annapolis.”

According to Ann Arundel County radio traffic scanner audio, the suspect was described as a “white male with a ponytail.” CBS News added that the suspect wasn’t carrying an ID at the time of the shooting, and initially refused to identify himself to officials. He was reportedly ID’d via facial recognition software.

Anne Arundel Police Lieutenant Ryan Frashure told reporters, “This is going to be a long, long, long investigation.” Frashure said that officers responded to active shooter reports very quickly, in about 60 to 90 seconds of the first call. He said they engaged the suspected shooter and took him into custody. “At this point he’s the only suspect, we have one suspect,” Frashure said.

2Jarrod Ramon sued the Capital Gazette in 2012 over a column written by a now-former staffer about him pleading guilty to criminal harassment. The victim of Ramos’ harassment called him a “f**king nut job” and had previously warned police that he “will be your next mass shooter.”

According to court records, Jarrod Ramos was convicted of harassment in January 2011 in a case that stemmed from a March 2nd, 2010 incident. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 18 months supervised probation. Ramos was also ordered to continue therapy and refrain from contact with the harassment victim and her family.

In 2012, Ramos filed a defamation lawsuit against Capital-Gazette Communications, its then-staff-writer Eric Hartley and the paper’s publisher at the time, Thomas Marquardt. Ramos sued the paper, Hartley, and Marquardt over a column written by Hartley in 2011 about Ramos’ guilty plea to criminal harassment.

Hartley’s article, titled “Jarrod wants to be your friend,” which was reproduced in court documents, said that in 2011 Ramos had spent a year stalking and harassing a woman he had known in high school, but with whom he had recently reconnected via Facebook.

According to Hartley’s article, even though Ramos and the woman hadn’t seen each other in person since high school and didn’t meet again until a court appearance, Ramos made vulgar comments about her online, told her to “go hang yourself” and sent an email to her boss at a local bank attempting to get her fired.

The article, which said that Ramos was “a federal employee,” also said that he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor harassment charge.

Ramos’ defamation lawsuit was dismissed in 2013 by Prince George Circuit Judge Maureen M. Lamasney because the article was based on public records and Ramos had no evidence that it contained inaccurate information.

“A lawyer would almost certainly have told him not to proceed with this case,” the court wrote in the opinion, according to The Capital. “It reveals a fundamental failure to understand what defamation law is and, more particularly, what defamation law is not.”

In September 2015, the second-highest court in Maryland upheld a 2013 ruling in favor of Capital-Gazette Communications dismissing Ramos’ defamation lawsuit.

After the Capital Gazette shooting, the woman who had been harassed by Ramos told WBAL-TV “he’s a f**king nut job.” She told reporter Jayne Miller that years ago she had warned a police official that Ramos “will be your next mass shooter.”

3The Capital Gazette’s former publisher, Thomas Marquardt, said he thought Ramos “was crazy enough to come in and blow us all away.”

Thomas Marquardt, who retired as The Capital’s publisher in 2012 and was named in Ramos’ defamation lawsuit against the paper, told the Los Angeles Times that Ramos “waged a one-person attack on anything he could muster in court against the Capital.”

Marquardt said he and other newspaper officials had been worried over how to stop Ramos’ harassment against them. “I said during that time, ‘This guy is crazy enough to come in and blow us all away.”

Marquardt said police couldn’t arrest Ramos for his behavior toward the newspaper, and the paper was reluctant to sue him in court.

“The theory back then was, ‘Let’s not infuriate him more than I have to… The more you agitate this guy, the worse it’s gonna get,” said Marquardt. “If it’s him, I’m gonna feel … responsible for this. I pray it’s not him.”

4Jarrod Ramos was apparently a Donald Trump supporter and appeared to threaten the Capital Gazette in a Twitter post that referring to Trump as “unqualified” could “end badly” for the paper. He also tweeted that he would like to see Hartley and Marquardt “cease breathing.”

Jarrod Ramos had a Twitter account (@EricHartleyFrnd) that showed no tweets since January 2016—until Thursday, the day of the shooting, when he posted a single line message that read simply, “F*** you, leave me alone @judgemoylanfrnd.” The @judgemoylanfrnd account appeared to have been created by Ramos to ridicule a Maryland judge.

Ramos used his Twitter account for several years to talk about his lawsuit against The Capital Gazette and one of its former reporters, Eric Hartley—the man who wrote the article about his harassment charges. The account also included a bunch of rambling posts about conspiracy theories. Ramos used a photo of Hartley for the account’s profile picture.

Ramos wrote in his Twitter bio, “Dear reader: I created this page to defend myself. Now I’m suing the sh*t out of half of AA County and making corpses of corrupt careers and corporate entities.”

Ramos never tweeted from the Judge Moyland account, but the profile states: “This is a war. There are no grandstands on the battlefield. One does not die royalty, a nobleman, or a commoner. You die as the loser.”

A third Twitter account, under the name Judge James Lombardi (@judgelingJJL) also appears to have been created by Ramos. The bio on that account states: “Not James J. Lombardi, the most disgraceful #judgeling I’ve seen. He wants to censor me in absentia, but he can eat my sh*t. Very truly yours, Jarrod W. Ramos.”

In September 2015, Ramos used his Twitter account to criticize and apparently threaten a Capital Gazette columnist for calling President Donald Trump, then a candidate, “unqualified.” He wrote, “referring to @realDonaldTrump as ‘unqualified’ @capgaznews could end badly (again).” He linked to a Wall Street Journal article about Trump’s $500 million lawsuit against Univision.

Months before that, in February 2015, Ramos tweeted that he would like to see the Capitol Gazette shut down, but it would “be nicer” to see Hartley and Marquardt “cease breathing.”

5Ramos also wrote on an old website that Thomas Marquardt (the paper’s publisher) used The Capital as a “shotgun” and news subjects as “targets.”

In addition to his multiple Twitter profile, Jarrod Ramos also had a website where he published documents from his defamation case and e-mails with the Capital Gazette, ironically accusing them of harassment and defamation.

Ramos wrote on the website: “Mr. Marquardt views news subjects as targets, and The Capital is his shotgun. He fills with glee when he strikes down another a**hole … Some targets are easy and some targets unclear. ‘Shoot it anyway,’ he says, ‘I want it dead!’ He hates it when civility and decency get in the way of his fun. He does it for the victims, even when ‘She wants to be alone.’ He’d tell you his ‘personal animosity’ has nothing to do with it, though he doesn’t even know what that is. So don’t be a killjoy.”

In an email published on his website, Ramos wrote, “Dear Reader: If you’re here now, you probably just Googled my name. If this story caught you off guard, there’s something you should know. While I did commit the offense of harassment, the victim’s version of events is a gross misrepresentation of what actually occurred. Mr. Hartley has here further distorted the truth. Upon reconsideration this afternoon, Judge Jonas D. Legum has overturned my conviction despite continued opposition by the victim. At hearing she showed her true colors and the court was unpersuaded by her attempted manipulation. If you know me, ask me. I certainly did a bad thing, but don’t shun me for how it was portrayed by this newspaper.”

Though Ramos mentions the courts overturned his harassment conviction, there is no official documentation proving that.

He added in a message to Hartley: “This is your written notice the conditions I provided to you are hereby withdrawn. You have chosen to ignore my letter, but your response was not invisible. The ground you tried digging was solid, as my integrity. Say the same to me and you’ve lied once more. You can expect my lawsuit in July. Get your people ready, because I will be.”

In a tweet from 2014, Ramos said to then-Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin Davis, “Mass shootings cannot happen anywhere, @ChiefKevinDavis. For example: 2000 Capital Drive. No one left there to shoot.” 2000 Capital Drive in Annapolis, MD is the former home of the Capital-Gazette Communications offices.

On Ramos’ website, he titled a section “Open Season.” He wrote under that headline: “That’s the life at 2000 Capital Drive, from one generation to the next. They’re so sure their own sh*t doesn’t stink, they feel their sewage bill should be paid by the people of Annapolis. When their guilty consciences catch up to them, the people pay for that too. They call themselves an important watchdog, but who watches the watchers? The authority that permits their power also stands poised to punish its abuse. Even kings must answer to God, and a modern day Inquisition is at hand. Thmce potential judgement is no less severe; the carnage differs only in literal terms. “Multiple Casualties” Reported in Shooting at Capital Gazette Newspaper Building in Maryland

Multiple people have been shot and killed following a mass shooting Thursday afternoon (Jun. 28) at the headquarters of Maryland’s Capital Gazette newspaper, and the suspected gunman is currently in custody.

According to CBS News, at least five people are dead and several others were injured. Gazette reporter Phil Davis confirmed that multiple people had been shot. Davis, who covers courts and crimes for the paper, tweeted, “A single shooter shot multiple people at my office, some of whom are dead.”

He added, “Gunman shot through the glass door to the office and opened fire on multiple employees. Can’t say much more and don’t want to declare anyone dead, but it’s bad … There is nothing more terrifying than hearing multiple people get shot while you’re under your desk and then hear the gunman reload.”

Davis said he was waiting to be interviewed by police.

John McNamara, who has worked for the Gazette and is the editor of the Bowie Blad-News and the Crofton-West County Gazette, has been confirmed as one of the shooting victims. He was in critical condition when he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

Joshua McKerrow, a photojournalist for the Baltimore Sun and the Capital Gazette tweeted along with photos from the scene: “Massive police response to shooting in my newsroom in Annapolis.”

An intern with the Capital Gazette, Anthony Messenger, tweeted that there was an “active shooter” and to “please help us” at around 2:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police responded to reports of an active shooter just before 3 p.m. and several vehicles could be seen heading toward the building, according to news reporters and witnesses. People could be seen exiting the building with their hands up.

Roads near the shooting were shut down and people have been told to avoid the area.

WJLA-TV reporter Brad Bell said that the suspect, who was reportedly taken into custody alive, is believed to have used a shotgun in the shooting.

The Capital Gazette has been published since 1884 and is a daily newspaper that serves the city of Annapolis Maryland. Its sister newspaper, the Maryland Gazette, which was founded in 1727, is one of the oldest American newspapers.

The Capital Gazette building is home to several publications, including The Capital newspaper, the Maryland Gazette, the Bowie Blade-News, the Crofton-West County Gazette and Capital Style Magazine, along with CapitalGazette.com. Other businesses, including a medical office, are also located in the building.

The Capital Gazette and the Maryland Gazette are both owned by the Baltimore Sun Media Group, which is owned by Tribune Publishing. Police have also responded to check the Baltimore Sun newsrooms as a precautionary measure in the wake of the shooting.

Yesterday, it was announced through XXXTentacion’s Instagram story that he would be posthumously releasing the music video for his hit single “SAD!” And this morning, as promised, the video hit YouTube at 9 a.m. sharp.

With the rapper’s public memorial taking place Wednesday (Jun. 27) in Sunrise, Florida, which was attended by thousands of fans, it looks like during the filming of this music video, XXX may have been foreshadowing his own death.

The visuals were written and creative-directed by X himself and could easily be compared to Tupac’s “I Aint Mad Atcha” video.

The haunting, thought-provoking and captivating JMP-directed visuals find the rapper presented with the task of battling himself as a means to end the negative energy in the world and spread positivity.

At the beginning of the video, the viewer is asked a series of questions in text-form relating to themselves, with one of the questions including: “Why do you love?” When the rapper appears on screen, he’s seen attending his own funeral, and when he walks up to his casket, his body—laying with his iconic half-blonde half-black locks—jumps up and attacks him.

Throughout the video, XXX can be seen sitting hunched over in a dark room clearly avoiding eye contact with a robed, masked figure, who we find out was the one asking all of the questions and making the statements about changing the world by spreading positivity. “The world is in need of change, humans must learn to love and compromise rather than destroy,” the shadowy figure says. “The world will soon be more loving, you will see.”

The song plays as XXX fights himself while onlookers watch, which is likely a visual representation of him “battling his old self” in front of the world. After winning the fight, XXX sits on the ground and uses supernatural powers to control his alter ego’s body, dragging it across the ground and throwing it up against the wall.

The video ends with XXX laying his old self to rest—a powerful representation of what the rapper was facing and thinking during his last months on earth.

The video for “SAD!” comes just a few days after the single skyrocketed from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the first posthumous No. 1 single by a lead solo artist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” in 1997.

Police have continued to make progress with the investigation into XXXTentacion’s murder. Just one week after the first suspect, 22-year-old Dedrick D. Williams, was arrested near Broward County, a second person of interest, 22-year-old Robert Allen, has been named in the case. U.S. Marshalls are said to be assisting in the search for Allen, as well as a third unnamed suspect.

Dedrick Williams appeared in court Monday and pleaded not guilty, with his lawyer maintaining his innocence. His attorney, Mauricio Padilla, said: “It’s difficult when you’re dealing with media cases because as you know they take a life of their own nowadays with social media. But we’re really focused on trying this case in a court of law and not in the court of public opinion.”

In addition to the “SAD!” video, X’s team also gave fans the opportunity to see the rapper one last time in a public memorial held Wednesday at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, where thousands of fans gathered for a six-hour open casket viewing.

Joe Jackson Dead at 89 Years Old

Joe Jackson, the patriarch of the world-famous Jackson family, has died at the age of 89 years old.

TMZ reports via family sources that Jackson passed away at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning (Jun. 27) in Los Angeles. How did Joe die? What was his cause of death?

Last week, we reported that Joe had been hospitalized with terminal cancer earlier this month and was in the final stages of the disease. His wife, Katherine Jackson, as well as some of their children and grandchildren, had been at his bedside.

According to TMZ, Jackson had been dealing with health issues for a while now. He was hospitalized back in 2016 after coming down with a high fever, but he recovered and was seen partying in Vegas not long after. His health had also been declining after suffering a stroke and three heart attacks back in 2015 and had a pacemaker implanted.

Joe Jackson was best known as the father of some of the most successful entertainers in the world: The Jackson 5, then as solo artists, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson, whose careers he managed at young ages.

His controversial parenting methods—including abuse and strict management practices—were scrutinized by his children and the media. Joe admitted to the physical abuse and being a very strict parent, but never apologized, instead saying that his methods turned his children into successful adults and kept them out of jail.

Joe stood by Michael during his molestation trial, and after Michael’s death in 2009, Joe was criticized for trying to make money from his son’s memory.

Joe and Katherine were married for more than 60 years and had 10 children together, though more recently, they didn’t live together as their relationship was strained for the last years of his life.

During Migos’ performance of their hit single “Stir Fry,” the camera panned to the audience and caught Gospel queen Yolanda Adams not only enjoying the performance, but also spitting the lyrics, which, unsurprisingly, had Twitter in shambles.

For what it’s worth, “Stir Fry” is an undeniably catchy tune that has been all over the radio for months, but who knew that Gospel’s biggest act was out here listening to rap songs about cooking crack? Twitter sure didn’t!

Dame Dash wants Lee Daniels to run him his money … NOW!

Years ago, Damon Dash lent Lee Daniels $2 million to produce the 2004 movie “The Woodsman.” In return for the money, Dame says he received a written agreement from Daniels that promised him executive producer credits, 50 percents of the film’s rights, and a guarantee that the $2M investment would be repaid in full with interest. Apparently, that never happened and Dame filed a lawsuit in 2014.

In 2015, Dash and Daniels settled the suit, with Dame’s attorney Natraj Bhushan calling it a “creative, fair” settlement that “calls for them to work together in the not-so-distant future.” It looks like that never happened, and Dame wants his money back not now, but RIGHT NOW.

Earlier today, the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder shared a video on Instagram showing him confronting Daniels in what appears to be a church service, telling him that he needs his money and he’s willing to file another lawsuit to get it if need be. He captioned the clip:

It’s clear from this video that Dame is NOT playing about his coins, and could you honestly blame him? $2 million (that’s MILLION, with an M) is no small amount. And if someone who clearly has the money (Daniels’ net worth is significantly higher than $2 million, especially when you consider he’s the creator of hit shows like “Empire” and “Star”) is holding out, then you have to do what you have to do, even if that means taking them to court.

According to Deadline, Dame Dash has filed another lawsuit—this time for $5 million—claiming Lee Daniels promised to try to get him an executive producer credit for a Richard Pryor biopic, along with 5 percent of Daniels’ backend profits and didn’t hold up to his end of the agreement.
