Keke Palmer Called Out By Black Twitter for Supporting “All Lives Matter” Statement

The recent police shootings Alton Sterling and Philando Castile have brought out some emotional and heartfelt messages from many celebrities. However, the “All Lives Matter” crowd is speaking loudly as well. The crowd even includes people you never would have thought of, like Keke Palmer.

After a Twitter user asked the actress how she felt about the “#AllLivesMatter” statement, Palmer agreed.

Of course Black Twitter jumped on her response and proceeded to do what Black Twitter does best. Still missing the point, Palmer doubled down on her sentiment and began responding the dragging.

Three years after #BlackLivesMatter appeared on Twitter and two years since the social movement gained traction, and yet people are still confused of what it actually symbolizes.

We all know that all lives matter, but history has shown that some lives seem to be valued more than others. The “Black Lives Matter Movement” specifically is trying to help end police brutality and systemic racism against the black community. “Only Black Lives Matter” is not the cause’s slogan or mantra; those who interpret it as such are completely wrong and misinformed.

Keke Palmer is sadly missing this point, though. I understand that she is trying to stand up for equality for all — unlike the white “All Lives Matter” crowd who just feel threatened by outspoken black people — but her approach could have been better. She instead, opted to dismiss a rightfully fed up community and suffered the Black Twitter consequences in doing so.

Jesse Williams Still Making White People Mad, Continues to Dismiss Petition to Get Him Fired From Grey’s Anatomy

It’s been evident over the past two weeks that Jesse Williams is not one to sit back and be quiet. The actor is still responding to a petition calling to get him fired from the ABC medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy.

After Williams gave a powerful speech about race at the BET Awards, several hurt white people cried “reverse racism” and took to social media to express their concerns. A Change.org petition to get the black actor fired soon appeared.

Though it initially only had a few signatures, support quadrupled within 24 hours after media began reporting on the petition. It currently has over 25,000 signatures. The coverage has caused the creator to add to her grievances. She’s also asking others to boycott all ABC shows and unfollow all its social media pages.

Williams dropped this tweet once he got word of the growing numbers.

Williams had previously responded to the controversy by telling his followers not to promote or engage in the negativity. Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s creator) and Ellen Pompeo (Grey’s titular star) have both praised Williams’ speech, with Rhimes assuring fans the actor isn’t going anywhere.

A closer look into the petition has also discovered there’s more support for Williams than for those crying “white tears.” Reportedly there are 78 petitions to keep Williams on the ABC show compared to the single one calling for his firing.

These haters are just going to have to stay mad. Not only is Jesse staying on the hit show he joined in 2009, but he’s also not going to stop being an advocate for black people. Soon after his tweet regarding the petition, he addressed the recent shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

Kendall Jenner and Jordan Clarkson “Casually Dating,” Allowed to See Other People

It’s time for another Kardashian/Jenner relationship update.

Kendall Jenner has a new boo in her life, or at least that’s what it looks like. Throughout the Fourth of July weekend, Jenner was seen getting very close with Los Angeles Lakers player Jordan Clarkson.

The two were spotted hanging out at several L.A. locations. They stayed at a Malibu home near the beach with friends, attended the “Red White and Bootsy” party and the Bootsy Bellows nightclub, and were seen at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

However, a source says the couple is keeping it casual, even allowing each other to see other people. We also shouldn’t expect any PDA photos. The source said the two are “on the down-low in public.”

“Kendall was really mellow. Kendall and Jordan didn’t seem flirty,” an eyewitness told E! News after the couple was recently spotted in Nobu.

This coupling news comes after we’ve learned Khloe Kardashian and Trey Songz are most likely getting it in and Kendall Jenner and Tyga have clearly reconnected.

Jaden Smith Explains Why He Chooses to Break Gender Norms & Wear Skirts

Jaden Smith says all ya’ll can stay mad if you don’t like the fact that he wears skirts. The 17-year-old actor appears on the August cover of Nylon magazine (looking just like his sister Willow Smith) and is opening up about his gender-bending fashion choices.

Incorporating his MSFTsrep clothing/lifestyle brand, Jaden explains to the magazine that his willing to break boundaries for similar people and future misfits in the world.

“I’m going to take most of the blows for my fellow MSFTS. So, you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him. It just doesn’t matter,” he says. “I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time.”

He also doesn’t care how anyone feels about his gender nonconformity. However, he does admit that it takes a lot of confidence to step outside the box.

“You just have to believe in yourself, you know. The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do, and I’m going to keep not caring. I’m going to keep doing the same things—I’m going to keep doing more things.”

Jaden is currently one of the newest faces of Louis Vuitton. However, people were stunned when he appeared in the luxury brand’s 2016 spring/summer campaign for women’s wear earlier this year. His latest Vuitton campaign features him wearing a patterned skirt and crocheted shirt.

Personally, I have never understood the fashion concept that “men wear this” or “only women wear that.” It’s probably just as confusing to me as it is for those who don’t understand Jaden’s gender-bending style. Louis Vuitton and Jaden’s partnership is definitely pushing the envelope. Although, I don’t see attitudes changing in the near future, I’m feeling what that are standing for.

How Sas from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Ended Up Getting Shot in the Head

Sas is truly a “walking miracle.” The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star is on the road to recovery after being shot in the head. However, we now know more details about the shooting.

The TV star was shot by unknown male that falsely accused him of stealing a safe filled with cash during a mansion party in Paradise Valley, AZ. Sas was being paid to host “The Official Independence Day Weekend Mansion Party,” but was shot before he even got into the house.

The gunman was shooting at anyone he thought was involved, including Sas. However, Sas was not involved in the robbery and was shot while either sitting in his Range Rover. The shooter had left the premises by the time police arrived.

So basically @sas_nbl was shot for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The #LHHATL star was shot in Paradise Valley, Arizona after pulling up to a mansion party that was already ending in fights & gunshots. The owners who threw the mansion got robbed for their safe & someone pointed out Sas’s car and said that Sas took the safe which was not true. The shooter shot at Sas’s Range Rover and Sas took off.

Unfortunately, a case of mistaken identity and being at the right place at the wrong time led to such a scary injury. Sas has since thanked a woman who helped during the ordeal.

Multiple Police Officers Shot & Killed by Snipers During Protest in Dallas

In the wake of the officer-involved shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, multiple cops were shot and killed during a rally in downtown Dallas Thursday night (Jul 7).

According to Dallas police, 11 officers were shot in total, 4 are dead and several others are critically injured. Two snipers standing from “elevated positions” are said to be the alleged shooters.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown said in a statement, “Tonight it appears that two snipers shot ten police officers from elevated positions during the protest/rally… An intensive search for suspects is currently underway. No suspects are in custody at this time. We ask that any citizen with information regarding the shootings tonight call 214-671-3482. We will provide more information once it is available. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers tonight.”

Dallas police released a photo of a man who they believed was a “person of interest.”

The rally took place in response to the recent police killings of black men.

Witnesses say the rally was about to end when they heard multiple gunshots and saw protesters running in fear of their lives. Videos posted online show people freaking out after hearing random pops.

Police are also reporting that the snipers may have planted a bomb in the area.

UPDATE #1: The man in the photo has turned himself in to police, and another person of interest is also in custody. The Dallas PD also recovered the reported suspicious package, which is being inspected by the DPD bomb squad.

No Plug Admits to Killing Bankroll Fresh in Self Defense, Claims Slain Rapper Shot First

Four months after the death of rapper Bankroll Fresh, his accused murderer No Plug (aka Skully) has finally come forward and admitted he was involved in the shooting that took the 28-year-old rapper’s life.

No Plug recently sat down and did a tell-all interview with VladTV, in which he claims self-defense and accuses Bankroll of being the one who shot first.

PREVIOUSLY: Is No Plug (aka Skully) the Guy Who Killed Bankroll Fresh?

According to No Plug, he and Bankroll grew up together and had been friends since the age 10 or 11, but their relationship became strained once Bankroll started to become famous.

No Plug says the shooting at Street Execs Studios on March 4th stemmed from an incident that occurred last Thanksgiving where Bankroll tried to come to the 9th Ward neighborhood, which is No Plug’s hood. No Plug’s crew didn’t want Bankroll there, so No Plug says he escorted him out of the area.

No Plug also says Bankroll became jealous of him over women they were both messing around with.

On the night Bankroll was murdered, No Plug says he was at the studio with a friend when Bankroll confronted him about the 9th Ward situation. No Plug says he tried to avoid any altercation, but Bankroll wouldn’t let it go and attacked him.

From there, No Plug says a fight broke out between him and Bankroll, but was eventually broken up by a childhood friend. No Plug says he left the studio after the fight, however returned shortly later once he realized he had dropped both of his cellphones.

Once he pulled back up, No Plug alleges he asked a few people if they had seen his phones when Bankroll and a group of men came outside with guns. No Plug says Bankroll fired shots first, shots were fired back, and somehow Bankroll was struck by a ricochet bullet.

“He came out with the gun and sh*t happened. He fired a shot and sh*t happened. We pulled out and he ended up dead. It’s that simple,” No Plug said.

After the shooting, No Plug hired Gucci Mane’s lawyer and turned himself in to authorities. He says he was interrogated for 10 minutes before he was allowed to leave. No charges were filed against him.

Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard Sells Out First Rap Concert in Portland

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard is a beast on the court. The sixth overall pick in the 2012 draft and an NBA All-Star dominated the 2015-16 season, averaging 25.1 points and 6.8 assists per games. But the court isn’t the only place the 25-year-old shines. Turns out, dude can spit bars with the best of them.

Lillard, or Dame D.O.L.L.A., is a legit rapper in his free time, racking up over 4.5 million plays on his Soundcloud page and popularizing the #4BarFriday hashtag. He’s even gotten the attention of several major labels, according to his agent, Aaron Goodwin.

And it’s easy to see why. His skills in the studio rival his on the court play. Dame D.O.L.L.A. is ready to take his rap game to the next level, though, as he recently announced that he will put on his first concert in Portland next week (Jul. 15).

Tickets for the Crystal Ballroom concert went on sale for less than $20 on Wednesday, but those interested in going are out of luck if they didn’t act quickly enough. The concert has already sold out.

One of the biggest issues athletes face is what to do after retiring. Most have spent their entire lives playing the sport they love, so once that’s over, they find themselves with a large void to fill. Lillard, it seems, won’t have that problem. At 25, he’s already got a nice backup once his illustrious NBA career comes to an end.

And regardless of what his NBA legacy turns out to be as a player, one thing’s for sure. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest NBA rappers of all time. Even if his competition isn’t that tough.

How Do You Replace Someone Like D-Rose? Pick Up D-Wade.

After the Heat lowballed veteran and Miami staple Dwyane Wade with a paltry $10 million offer, it was no surprise that the NBA All-Star was going to be shopping around. Despite his years of loyalty to the town he calls home, a talent of that caliber knows he can do better.

For a minute there, rumors speculated that he’d be joining his buddy LeBron James in Cleveland, but on Wednesday night (Jul. 6) Wade announced that he will be replacing Derrick Rose and joining the Chicago Bulls. With a two year, $47.5 million offer, D-Wade will finally leave the Heat and join a diminished roster in Chicago.

Dwayne Wade is as synonymous with Miami as peanut butter is to jelly. The thought of number 3 playing for anyone besides the Heat would have been considered ludicrous a couple of years ago. The love for Wade in South Beach is so strong that even fans were pissed at the low-ball offer to the NBA Champ.

They even set up a GoFundMe page to help raise the money for the superstar in hopes of keeping him there (it has already been suspended). Despite their best efforts, they had only been able to raise $55 as of last Saturday — hardly enough to cover the $10 million loss Wade would suffer from his previous year’s contract.

Wade didn’t take the decision lightly. After making his choice to leave Miami, Wade penned a letter to the fans of the Heat in which he said, “this has been an extremely emotional and tough decision to come to. After 13 years, I have decided to embark on a new journey with the Chicago Bulls. This was not an easy decision, but I feel I have made the right choice for myself and my family.”

Edward Snowden Ain’t Too Happy About Hillary Clinton Getting Off Easy in Email Scandal

On Tuesday (Jul. 5) the FBI finally came to a conclusion regarding Hillary Clinton and her infamous “email scandal.” The result? Largely underwhelming. In what Trevor Noah of the Daily Show described as a very “Ryan Seacrest” moment, FBI director James Comey announced that Clinton’s actions were “extremely careless” but not malicious in intent — which is enough, apparently, to not warrant any further action.

Just mark it up to, ‘whoops, I goofed. Sorry everybody.’

Later that day, Clinton appeared in North Carolina with President Obama later in the day and no mention was made of the scandal. For her, it’s time to move on to bigger issues, i.e. her presidential rival Donald Trump (that still sounds weird to say).

But for many, the issue is not done just yet. Many people pointed to the secret meeting between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch prior to the FBI’s announcement as proof positive that Hillary is receiving unjust treatment due to her position.

One of those people who thinks something’s up isEdward Snowden. You may remember Snowden as the former NSA member who secretly snuck out of the United States and proceeded to release caches of files regarding the nefarious methods the government uses in the name of security.

If you don’t know about him, watch his movie coming out later this year. It actually looks really good.

Following the FBI’s announcement, Snowden shared a Tweet showing his perplexed outlook on the ruling.

And this isn’t the first time he’s weighed in on the issue.

For Clinton, this was kind of a no-win scenario. Either she’s charged by the FBI and must undergo criminal charges, or she is found not to be in fault and everyone screams corruption.

Whatever the truth is behind the matter (and let’s be honest, we’ll never know) one thing is for sure: Snowden, who is barred from returning to U.S. soil for fear of facing espionage charges, ain’t too happy.

Black Man Shot Dead by Minnesota Cop During Traffic Stop, Girlfriend’s Facebook Live Video Shows Aftermath

A man is dead following an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night (Jul 6) in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, and the moments immediately following the shooting were all captured on video.

St. Anthony’s police confirmed that the man, who was identified as 32-year-old Philando Castile, was shot and killed by an officer during a traffic stop.

In video footage uploaded to Facebook through the popular social network’s “Live” feature, a woman (identified as Diamond Reynolds, Castile’s girlfriend) can be heard saying to Castile, “Stay with me” before she addresses the camera. “We got pulled over for a busted tail light in the back,” she said. “And the police… he’s covered [in blood]. They killed my boyfriend.”

Reynolds goes on to say that Castile was shot at least four or five times by a police officer as he was pulling out his wallet so that he could show the cop his ID. The woman added that her boyfriend told the officer that he had a firearm but was licensed to carry it.

“He let the officer know he had a firearm, and he was reaching for his wallet, and the officer just shot him,” Diamond said to the camera. “He just shot his arm off.” As Reynolds continued recording the video on Facebook Live, the cop could be seen with his firearm pointing at the couple through the vehicle’s window.

“Keep your hands on the wheel!” the cop shouts to Reynolds. “F*ck! I told him not to reach for it, I told him to get his hand off of it!

The man can be heard moaning in the video and his T-shirt is soaked with blood. You can also hear a baby, presumably sitting in the backseat, crying in the background.

“Oh, God, please don’t tell me he’s dead, please don’t tell me my boyfriend just went like that,” Reynolds says. “Please don’t tell me that he’s gone. Please, officer, don’t tell me that you just did that to him. You shot four bullets into him, sir. He was just getting his license and registration, sir.”

At that point, the officer yells to “get the female passenger out” and another cop tells her to step out of the vehicle with her hands up. Reynolds is then placed in handcuffs and told she’s being detained until they get “this is all sorted out.”

The Facebook Live video continues for another 8 minutes as the woman can be heard off camera praying and becoming more hysterical over the incident as time passes.

One of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire ordeal happens near the end of the clip when Reynolds is in the backseat of a police car and her 4-year-old daughter says, “It’s OK mommy… It’s OK, I’m right here with you.

It didn’t take long for news of the police shooting and the accompanying Facebook Live video to hit Twitter under the hashtags #FalconHeightsShooting and #PhilandoCastile, with users outraged over the death of yet another black man at the hands of police — less than 48 hours after the police shooting of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Wendy Williams Dragged on Twitter for Dissing Jesse Williams, HBCUs and the NAACP

Wendy Williams, what you doin’?

The talk show host is known to make some shady and/or controversial statements. However, her take on the petition to get Jesse Williams fired was so wrong, she became a trending topic on Twitter.

There is currently a petition to get Jesse fired from Grey’s Anatomy due to his BET Awards Speech. While Wendy didn’t agree he should be fired, she attempted to co-sign some of the arguments outraged white people have made against Jesse. She also completely dissed HBCUs and the NAACP by pulling a Stacey Dash and questioning their existence.

“I must say to you, [Jesse Williams] was on BET. His speech was very poignant,” she said. “On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically Black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP.”

Watching the episode live, I stopped listening as soon as she said “historically white college” because I had no clue what road she was about to take. And she went down that road alone as even her own audience was looking at her with a collective side eye.

How the black host doesn’t realize that historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and organizations like the NAACP developed as a result of black people being excluded from such institutions is beyond me. Black people and people of color have had to create their own spaces after being denied access to predominantly white spaces for decades. I guess segregation and systemic racism never happened though.

What’s even worse is that even after being dragged online, Wendy will most likely not address the controversy. She’ll move on to throwing more shade at Beyonce and other Hollywood celebrities like just another Thursday.

Nick Young’s Baby Mama Reveals She’s 22 Weeks Pregnant With Their Second Child

The mother of Nick Young’s 4-year-old son, and maybe one of the reasons his engagement to Iggy Azalea fell apart, is spilling all the tea. Keonna Green just gave an exclusive interview to Us Weekly and revealed that she is in fact pregnant with Young’s child.

Green says she is 22 weeks pregnant and that she and Young had been fooling around behind Azalea’s back. In fact, they started hooking up three months after Young proposed to the Australian rapper. The two have since stopped sleeping with each other. Though she knows she wasn’t the only one, Green says she wouldn’t mind giving the compulsive cheater another chance at a real relationship. She actually says she still loves him.

Green also revealed that Young refused to tell Azalea about their relationship after she asked him. However, she does not feel bad for her part in Young’s betrayal to his former fiancé.

Here are her words to Azalea:

“I wish her a lifetime of success … I mean, I’m definitely not going to apologize for being in love with a man who I have a lot of history with. I do wish her that kind of success and hope that she can get through this difficult time and she and Nick can move forward from this.”

Well, it seems like Young and Green were made for each other. I’m no Iggy Azalea fan, but she definitely doesn’t deserve to be treated the way her fiancé and his baby mama treated her. It probably would have been in Green’s best interest not to tell her side of the story so Young could take all the heat. However, she’s proven herself to be just as culpable.

Azalea responded to Green’s interview when she was hounded by a paparazzo in an Australian airport. She said Green was lying and gave the middle finger. “That’s my message to them, not you,” she told the photog.

Young has yet to comment.

Tamar Braxton Dodges “The Real” Execs During Essence Festival, Changes Hotels

Talk about AWKWARD!

Tamar Braxton is rightfully still a little salty after being abruptly fired from The Real. Unfortunately, she recently had several run-ins with a few of the talk show’s executives while attending the Essence Festival in New Orleans.

Braxton, husband Vincent Herbert, and current The Real employees were all apparently booked in the same hotel. However, randomly seeing her foes was too much for her to handle.

“Tamar lasted one night in that hotel. She and her husband Vince [Herbert] kept running into executives from Warner Bros. and Tamar was very uncomfortable,” a source told Page Six. “She even walked through the lobby with dark black ‘Jackie O’ sunglasses. They were booked into a new hotel room first thing the next morning. Everyone was talking about how they demanded to leave.”

On top of that, Braxton also had to deal with seeing billboards of the remaining Real co-hosts posted around the city. The cast did several live shows while attending the festival. This was the first time they were together since Braxton’s exit. Photos of them rubbing elbows with Oprah and other superstars were also posted online.

Braxton was missing out on the fun with her former friends. However, she attended the McDonald’s 365Black Awards, which honored her sister, Toni Braxton.

You know Tamar has to bring a little extra drama wherever she goes. Though it’s still a fresh wound, she could have faced those execs with her head held high. The Real lost a big personality when they let her go and maybe a few viewers. Tamar also gets the last laugh as she has already signed on with Steve Harvey’s production company to host her own talk show. Though I’m not too sure how successful it will be, that’s the ultimate comeback.

Black Girl Magic: 15-Year-Old Black Girl Set Be the Next “Iron Man”

The comic book world just got real interesting. Marvel’s upcoming relaunch of Invincible Iron Man will feature black female teenager as Iron Man.

Riri Williams is an intelligent 15-year-old MIT student who builds her own Iron Man suit in her dorm room. She will have some interactions with current Iron Man, Tony Stark, but he will eventually pass the torch on to her.

“Iron Man” writer Brian Michael Bendis says Williams was inspired by young people rising above the street violence he witnessed while working in Chicago. A story of a girl leaving the environment and going to college has remained with him for years. It was the modern example of a superhero, he explained to Time magazine.

“It just seemed that sort of violence inspiring a young hero to rise up and act, and using her science acumen, her natural born abilities that are still raw but so ahead of where even Tony Stark was at that age, was very exciting to me.”

Of course there were some haters, but many seemed to welcome the change.

Ciara and Russell Wilson Are Now Husband and Wife, Can Finally Have Sex

Umm, who gets married on a Wednesday? In any case, congratulations are in order for Ciara and Russell Wilson. Or should I say Mr. & Mrs. Wilson. The two have officially tied the knot.

The singer and NFL star wed today (Jul. 6) at the Peckforton Castle in Liverpool, England. Ciara wore a custom Roberto Cavalli gown, while Russell wore an all black suit.

There were 100 guests in attendance. Jennifer Hudson, Lala Anthony, Kelly Rowland, and Serena Williams (who’s currently a semi-finalist at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships) were among Ciara’s bridesmaids. Guests were also reportedly asked to hand over cell phones to ensure privacy.

Ciara and Russell Wilson both shared the first official photo from the ceremony.

The couple was also captured attending their rehearsal dinner at the Titanic Hotel the day before the nuptials.

The couple’s engagement was fairly short. Hmm, I wonder if their decision to abstain from sex until marriage had anything to do with the urgency to jump the broom? They announced their engagement in March, after beginning to date in April 2015. This is Ciara’s first marriage, while Russell is trying it again for a second time. He was previously married to his high school sweetheart from 2012 – 2014.

We wish the happy couple well. Let’s just hope Ciara’s baby daddy, Future, allows them to enjoy their honeymoon before enacting the murder plot Ciara says she afraid of.

Celebrity makes for strange bedfellows and equally strange behavior as Justin Bieber proved over the July 4th weekend.

Bieber, in Miami for his Purpose World Tour, spent Sunday night (Jul. 3) keeping up with at least one Kardashian, Kourtney. The singer was hanging out at Story Nightclub at his after-party when he spotted Kourtney who was at the night spot to celebrate club owner David Grutman’s birthday, according to Us Weekly.

A source told People that Bieber made a beeline for the reality TV babe and mother of three, “bringing her up to a private table behind the DJ booth.” Scott Disick, Kourtney’s ex, was nowhere to be seen (He accompanied Kourtney and their three children on the jet-set excursion). Kourtney did have pals Larsa Pippen (wife of former NBA player Scottie Pippen) and Jonathan Cheban in tow.

Rumors of the less annoying Kardashian MILF and the “family friend” hooking up began circulating last October when they were spotted leaving a West Hollywood club together. In April, People broke the story that Kardashian, 37, and Bieber, 22, had been “hooking up for months,” according to multiple sources.

Could the “couple’s” confusing relationship status have been the inspiration for Bieber’s odd Facebook opus on Tuesday regarding the meaning of life?

Jaguars RB Denard Robinson Found Sleeping In Car As It Sinks Into Pond

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson was found asleep in his Chevy Impala early Sunday morning (Jul. 3) by police officers. That in its own right is nothing special; a lot of people have taken power naps in their car from time to time. What makes this NFL player’s situation unique is that his car happened to be sinking into a pond while he snoozed.

Robinson had apparently dozed off while driving and ended up in a retention pond in Jacksonville. When officers arrived on the scene, he apparently “opened his eyes then went back to sleep.” And Robinson wasn’t alone.

In the passenger’s seat was a woman who was also knocked out. When she woke up, she rolled down the window and said, “what’s up?” Officers were forced to help the woman out of the passenger’s side as the driver’s side was submerged.

Robinson, however, needed a little convincing. He reportedly thought he was still on the road, so officers had to unbuckle and persuade him to exit as well.

There’s nothing nefarious here, though, as Robinson was not deemed to be impaired and not charged with DUI. The guy was just tired. He released a statement regarding the incident on Tuesday:

When asked, the Jaguars organization said they were “aware that running back Denard Robinson was involved in a single-car accident over the weekend and is thankful that nobody was injured.”

Massive Hoverboard Recalls Means Thousands of People Will Be Forced to Walk

Ever seen someone floating around town on his hoverboard (You know this is a guy thing) and thought, “What a monumental D-bag?” Well, you’re in luck because the U.S. Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is coordinating a recall of over 500,000 hoverboards due to safety issues.

According to Mashable, the recall affects the biggest hoverboard brands on the market including: Swagway (the Swagway X1 model), the Hovertrax from Razor, the Airwalk Self Balancing Electric Scooter, the iMoto, the Hype Roam, the Wheeli, 2Wheelz, Back to the Future, Mobile Tech, Hover Shark, NWS, X Glider and X Rider.

The recall comes after months of safety warnings and fires caused by the high-tech gadget. The CPSC’s concern stems specifically from the lithium-ion battery packs used in hoverboards which can “overheat, posing a risk of the products smoking, catching fire and/or exploding.” That’s one way to get where you’re going in a hurry.

According to the CPSC, roughly 99 hoverboard battery-related incidents have resulted in reports of injury and over $2 million in property damage across 20 states.

“Consumers should immediately stop using these recalled products and contact the recalling company to return their hoverboard for a full refund, a free repair or a free replacement depending on the model,” reads the official CPSC advisory in a statement sent to Mashable.

Consumers can call the CPSC consumer hotline at 1-800-638-2772 to determine if their device is part of the recall.

On a happier note, Segway, scooter and skateboard manufacturers and retailers could see a slight boost in sales.

Alton Sterling Autopsy Confirms Police Shot Him in the Back and Chest “Multiple” Times

Alton Sterling died as a result of being shot “multiple times” in the back and chest, East Baton Rouge Coroner William “Beau” Clark has revealed.

Video footage showing Sterling being shot and killed by Baton Rouge police outside a convenience store early Tuesday morning (Jul 5) has sparked outrage and quickly drawn national media attention.

According to reports, BR police were called about a disturbance outside the Triple S Food Mart, where Sterling was selling CDs. The caller said a black man was threatening him with a gun, and two police officers reacted by tasering Sterling, forcing him to the ground and shooting him multiple times, killing him instantly.

“Get on the ground! Get on the ground!” one officer can be heard screaming in the beginning of the shocking video clip before a taser pop is heard. “He’s got a gun! Gun,” an officer says while they pin the man to the ground. “Hey, bro, you f**king move, I swear to God!” one of the officers shout just moments before the other, who was aiming his gun at the Sterling, discharges his firearm multiple times.

A preliminary autopsy conducted on Sterling’s body shortly after the shooting found that Sterling’s cause of death was from “multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and back,” Coroner William “Beau” Clark told CNN Wednesday.

Clark wouldn’t provide anymore details regarding precisely how many times Sterling was shot, but he did reveal in a separate interview with Heavy.com that the gunshot wounds in his back were entrance wounds, confirming that Sterling was indeed shot from behind. Clark said a full autopsy would be completed over the next 60 to 90 days, and toxicology results could take up to 21 days to come back.

Abdullah Muflahi, the owner and manager of the store, who saw the entire incident from beginning to end, described police as “aggressive” and said that Sterling was armed, but he never reached for his gun. “His hand was nowhere (near) his pocket,” Muflahi said, adding that after the shooting, an officer reached into Sterling’s pocket and pulled out the gun.

Both of the officers involved in the shooting, Blane Salamoni, a four-year veteran with the BRPD and Howie Lake II, a three-year-veteran, have been placed on paid leave. The officers were reportedly wearing body cameras, which is required by law, however, the two men said both of their cameras “fell off” during the confrontation.

As news of Sterling’s death spreads, protesters are taking to the streets of Baton Rouge amid the national outcry, which is leading to calls by the NAACP and members of Congress for a federal investigation by the Justice Department.

At a press conference, District Attorney Hillar C. Moore III said “the officers feel they were completely justified.”
