Omarion & Apryl Jones Break Up Just 4 Months After Birth of Second Child

We can all stop tapping our toes while waiting for Omarion and Apryl Jones to get married. The longtime couple has announced they have broken up.

Omarion shocked fans with his announcement on Instagram. “The beautiful and talented mother of my children for whom I hold the highest regard and respect, Apryl Jones, and I have mutually decided to end our relationship,” he wrote after stating this will be the only time he will publicly discuss the private matter.

Omarion and Jones have two children together. Son, Megaa will celebrate his 2nd birthday in August, while their daughter, A’Mei, is just four-months-old.

The couple starred on the first two seasons of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood. They seemingly had the most stable relationship and fans believed they would walk down the aisle at some point. Unfortunately, even perfect relationships have a few cracks.

It’s unclear what lead to the split. However, Jones shut down some rumors via Snapchat, including a running joke the former B2K member broke-up with her after she stated “All lives matter” in response to the recent police-involved shootings.

The break up comes as a real surprise. Just three weeks ago, Omarion praised the mother of his children in a heartfelt IG post. “Maybe I don’t express my gratitude enough. I am rebuilding some things inside myself. With all that goes on in my world, I can depend on you. Because you’re solid. Thank you @aprylsjones just in case you needed a reminder on how awesome of a mother you’re,” he wrote.

Draymond Green Arrested on Assault Charges in Michigan

Golden State Warriors’ nefarious forward Draymond Green was arrested on assault charges on Sunday in Michigan. He was released on a $200 bond that night after what police described a “basically an altercation between two guys.”

Green, who is set to join Team USA in August for the Olympics in Brazil, could face up to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine if convicted.

Right now, not much more is known about the situation. The Warriors are aware of the altercation, saying, “at this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Draymond Green is known to be a tough guy, and after a slew of on-the-court fracases, it’s kind of not surprising that this would happen. The real question, though, is what was Green’s plan of attack in the fight? If history is any indication, I think we all can take a wild guess at what he did.

A Look at Tim Duncan’s Legacy Following His Announcement to Retire

After 19 years in the league, future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan has announced he will be retiring from the game he loves. The 40-year-old has been a staple for the Spurs organization since drafting him as the first overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft and will leave a tough void for replacement Pau Gasol.

In light of the recent announcement, it seems like a good time to highlight the greatness of Duncan’s illustrious career.

His Original Dream Was Being an Olympic Swimmer

Growing up in Christiansted, a town in the Virgin Islands, Tim Duncan was an avid swimmer as a child. His older sister, Tricia Duncan, participated in the 1988 Olympics and inspired Tim to follow in her footsteps.

Excelling in the 50, 100, and 400-meter freestyle, Duncan planned on representing the United States at the 1992 Olympic Games until a hurricane destroyed the island’s only Olympic-sized pool, forcing Duncan to train in the ocean. A fear of sharks turned him off of his training and Duncan turned to another sport: basketball.

In today’s age, it’s a rarity for a player to stick with one team for their entire career (just look at Kevin Durant). With big paydays and better opportunities for championships, players are constantly evaluating their options and moving around the league. But not Tim Duncan.

Drafted number 1 by the Spurs, Duncan spent his entire career in black and silver. His 19-year stint with one team is second to only one person — Kobe Bryant, who spent 20 years with the Lakers. He retires as the Spurs all-time NBA leader in total points, rebounds, blocked shots, minutes, and games played. He is also only one of two players in NBA history to record at least 26,000 points, 15,000 rebounds, and 3,000 blocks. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is the only other player to accomplish this.

Rumors of a Kylie Jenner & Tyga Engagement May Be True, Kylie Caught Wearing a Ring

The rumors of Kylie Jenner and Tyga being engaged are heating up. A few weeks ago, the reality star referred to the on/off again boyfriend as her “husband.” Now we may have photographic evidence that two are headed down the aisle.

Jenner recently posted an interesting pic on Instagram… with no caption. Though her hands are mostly covered by an oversized sweatshirt, we clearly see a big rock her left hand. The Kardashian/Jenner clan is very clever when it comes to social media, so Jenner knew she was fueling the flames when she posted the pic.

Tyga was also seen shopping at Polacheck’s Jewelers in Calabasas just one day before Jenner flashed the ring. You do the math. Later that day, Jenner posted a picture of her and Tyga with the caption “Mr. and Mrs.” However, she soon deleted the photo.

Adding pieces to the puzzle, it sure seems like the couple is flirting with jumping the broom. Or they could be flirting with us so that their names remain prominent on social media and the blogs.

I’ve never been a fan of this pair, mainly because we all knew a grown man was dating a minor. The couple didn’t confirm their relationship until Jenner turned 18. However, I highly doubt they are engaged. The new ring could very well be an apology gift from Tyga.

The circus between this two continues and, unfortunately, we have to witness it all.

Serena Williams Makes History at Wimbledon, Proves She’s the GOAT

Can we make it official, already? Serena Williams is the GOAT!! You can debate it all you want, but Williams is seriously one of the greatest athletes of all time. At the conclusion of the prestigious 2016 Wimbledon Championships, the tennis player walked away with two trophies while making history in the process.

In competitive straight sets, Williams defeated Angelique Kerber to win her 22nd Grand Slam Singles titles. 22!!! She now ties Steffi Graf with the most singles titles in the Open Era. With 24, Margaret Court has the most of all-time and Williams is well on her way to match — and possibly surpass — that feat.

Just a few hours later, Serena joined her sister, Venus Williams, for a doubles final. The unseeded team were victorious in very entertaining straight sets. This is the sisters’ 14th doubles title. Amazingly, they are 14-0 in doubles finals. Come on? How is that even possible?

Many celebrities were spotted at Serena’s singles match, including Ellen DeGeneres, Natalie Portman, and Game of Throne’s Maisie Williams. Beyoncé Fights Against Police Brutality With Powerful Performance and Call to Action

Since the powerful images revealed in her “Formation” music video, Beyoncé has been unapologetically championing the black community and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. As we all mourn the shocking deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, the singer continues to speak out against police brutality.

The singer paused her July 7 Glasgow performance for a moment of silence for the two victims. The names of several other African American men and women killed at the hands of police officers were also displayed on a giant cube.

Beyonce then performed a touching a cappella version of her song “Freedom,” while her dancers stood strongly beside her in solidarity.

The moving tribute came the same day the singer penned an open letter about police brutality on her website.

“We all have the power to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must use our voices to contact the politicians and legislators in our districts and demand social and judicial changes,” she wrote.

The letter focuses on the frustrations the black community and other marginalized people have regarding social injustice. She encouraged people to contact local politicians and legislators to demand change and reform.

She also included the helpful link, contactingthecongress.org. The site crashed after her posting, a sign that her words and influence are helping the cause to end police brutality.

Thanks to Russell Wilson, Ciara finally got the fairytale wedding she had hoped for when she became engaged to Future. Wilson and the singer tied the knot Wednesday (Jul. 6) at the Peckforton Castle in England.

Though guests were banned from leaking any info, we’re now learning more details about the ceremony. Official photos from the ceremony have been also been released and you must see the gorgeous couple on the special day.

Ciara’s breathtaking cathedral-length gown was a custom Roberto Cavalli piece, personally designed by the label’s creative director Peter Dundas. Her shoes were also the result of a collaboration between herself and Giuseppe Zanotti.

Wilson’s suit was custom designed by Giorgio Armani. The father of the bride also donned Armani and the designer even made a special “little man suit” for Ciara’s 2-year-old son, Baby Future Zahir.

Ciara and Wilson had eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen. Bridesmaids included Kelly Rowland and Lala Anthony. Ciara really went all out for her fairytale wedding, too. Each bridesmaid had custom-made gowns by Michael Costello. The designer confirmed that Ciara made sure that each dress showcased each wearer’s individual personality. The groomsmen wore Armani just like Wilson.

We’ve also learned that Earth, Wind & Fire introduced the couple during the reception. The 100 guests reportedly partied until dawn with music provided by DJ Nabs. Maybe that’s why the newlyweds were looking all wore out the next morning. Oh, who am I kidding? We know exactly why they were tired!

Police Brutality Protesters Pepper Sprayed & Arrested in Phoenix, Officers on High Alert After Dallas Shooting

Protests against police brutality have popped up across the nation in response to the shocking deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. While most have been peaceful, cops are not playing any games with protesters.

Protesters in Phoenix were reportedly pepper sprayed after the rally “spiraled out of control.” People in the crowd were seen running from the police while covering their eyes. Phoenix cops also fired beanbag rounds and arrested three people.

The protest began peacefully. However, three hours after its start, cops deemed the protest an “unlawful assembly” and ordered people to leave. Objects allegedly thrown at the officers sparked this order and led to the chaos.

A SWAT team ended a protest in Rochester, NY after it began blocking streets. An organizer of the event explained they sat down in the streets to show police they were non-violent. Even so, 74 people were arrested.

Though other protests have been relatively peaceful, cops are on high alert since the Dallas shooting that left 5 officers dead. Police departments in New York, Washington D.C., Boston, St. Louis, Las Vegas have all ordered officers to work in pairs or teams.

Please be safe if you intend to march or protest in any way. It’s no telling what these cops might do.

People Close to Chris Brown Worried He’s Headed for Another Major Downfall

Should we be worried that Chris Brown is gearing up to punch somebody in face like the good ole days of 2009? Well, allegedly he already has, and people close to the singer fear he is walking down another destructive path.

Chris Brown has had a rough few months. His publicist quit after the two had a vulgar fight via text. He allegedly punched his manager of four years repeatedly in the face and neck; the former manger is now suing him. It was also reported that he threatened his tour manager and he’s randomly being sued by Suge Knight. On top of all that, Brown made headlines a few weeks ago for allegedly trashing a rented villa with pee and vomit, which he adamantly denies.

Whew, and that’s really just the month of June. This list doesn’t even include all of Brown’s legal and public image troubles since physically assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. With all of that in mind, friends see Brown slipping into bad habits.

“I don’t think he’s aware of the downfalls that can come from the things that he does,” an anonymous source, who has worked closely with Brown, tells The Post. “He falls back into these moments where he doesn’t seem to care about the repercussions. It’s almost like a blackout situation.”

Though his public image is far from squeaky clean like when he burst on the music scene in 2005, his music continues to sell. In a sense, he may not personally see a need to change.

“Seems like, as long as he keeps coming up with hit records, the public will find a way to forgive him,” a disappointed source says. “Chris Brown has to want to do better. There is no publicist on this planet that can tell him what to do. He’s been through a lot of them at this point.”

BET music editor Iyana Robertson noted, “He’s completely permeated today’s R&B and pop music scene. So when he says, ‘This is who I am. Like it, hate it, love it, it’s up to you,’ that raw honesty is admirable to his fans.”

Could Chris Brown really be headed for trouble or is this just more media hype? Honestly, anything is possible with him. He definitely has anger management issues that I think he struggles to get under control.

However, up until this June, he seemed to be doing well… for his standards at least. Hopefully close friends and family can stop the downward spiral before it’s too late. Or, maybe not. You just never know with Chris Brown.

The Game and Snoop Dogg Lead Peaceful March to LAPD Headquarters

Just hours after the shooting that claimed the lives of five Dallas police officers during a Black Lives Matter protest, rappers the Game and Snoop Dogg led a peaceful march on the LAPD headquarters just in time for the graduation of the law enforcement agency’s latest recruits, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Jayceon Terrell Taylor, aka “The Game,” sent out a message via Instagram at 6:30 a.m. Friday morning, calling upon men of all races to participate in a march to the Los Angeles Police Department’s headquarters. The goal was to “make the Californian government & it’s law branches aware that from today forward, we will be UNIFIED as minorities & we will no longer allow them to hunt us or be hunted by us !!!”

Organizers started organizing the march before dawn. Roughly 50 men arrived to show their support. The Game encouraged women and children to forego the event.

“THIS IS OUR MISSION FOR THEM,” the Game wrote in his post.

Participants wore shirts emblazoned with the achronym H.U.N.T. (Hate Us Not Today, Hunt Us Not Today).

Organizers were not aware of the graduation ceremony, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, told reporters. Hip Hop mogul and philanthropist Russell Simmons was also spotted out there.

“The mission is to reintroduce our community to the LAPD… just to get some understanding and dialogue,” he said. “We’re the ones they’re going to be dealing with, we’re the ones that are going to be pulled over. … We’re here on peace.”

The Game, who hails from Comton, led the march out of a sense of civic, moral and personal responsibility.

“I would be lying to you if I didn’t say I was saddened by what happened in Dallas. I would be lying to you if I didn’t say I was angered about what occurred in Minnesota and Louisiana and Fresno,” he told the L.A. Times. “The cops that died in Dallas weren’t the cops that shot and killed Philando or Alton. As much as Philando and Alton didn’t deserve that, those cops in Dallas didn’t deserve that. And the only thing I could think of was to initiate peace on both sides, so that’s why I’m here.”

Organizers took precautions to ensure the event was a peaceful one by asking attendees not to bring “any weapons or anything illegal” and educating participants of the H.U.N.T. movement’s “unifying, peaceful message, so it couldn’t be misconstrued by police, and conversely, so they would listen when law enforcement responded.”

“We don’t have to fear each other today,” the Game posted.

Mischa Barton Apologizes for Idiotic Alton Sterling Instagram Post

Mischa Barton, best known for playing bi-curious, emotionally unstable, poor-little-rich girl Marissa Cooper on the teen soap The O.C. has a new claim to fame thanks to a recent Instagram post.

The actress, clad in a bikini and holding a glass of wine while on board a yacht, commented on the Alton Sterling shooting.

“I’m truly heartbroken to watch videos like the #altonsterling execution,” Barton wrote in the since-deleted post. “This may have been going on forever in the United States but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now. Its unthinkable and an embarrassment to America. The country I was brought up in.”

Needless to say there was some blowback.  Gersh Kuntzman of the New York Daily News stated, “Mischa Barton’s Instagram post about Alton Sterling was the most insensitive thing in the history of the Internet.”

Barton went viral and Twitter was all abuzz with some choice words for and about the lovely Miss Barton.

Mischa, perhaps sensing that she may have missed the boat (pun intended) has since apologized, “I’m human, I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry if my Instagram post went out of context,” she wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

As part of her mea culpa campaign, Barton has been busily tweeting away.

Raising Black Kids Causes Kim Kardashian to Support Black Lives Matter Movement

Have you ever wondered about the conversations Kanye West and Kim Kardashian must have? Kanye is so politically outspoken and Kim spends most of her day finding the perfect selfie angle. Well, that has all changed, as Kardashian has penned an essay regarding the Black Lives Matter movement.

After graphic video footage of two black men getting shot by police officers was released this week, Kardashian was criticized for remaining quiet on the matter. Several celebs had expressed their thoughts, but the reality star opted to post a selfie on Instagram instead.

Kardashian –- who is raising two black children with West — must have heard the criticism and showed her support for the movement and the call to end police brutality.

“I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust — the people who ‘protect and serve’ — may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin,” she wrote with her son Saint West in mind.

The reality star also understands her power and influence as one of the most recognizable public figures.

“We must peacefully use the power of our voices and the strength of our numbers to demand changes in the judicial system so that brutality doesn’t ever go unpunished… We must do something NOW… We must speak up until we are heard and real, effective changes are made.”

Celebs should not be obligated to publicly speak on political issues or social movements. They may be working toward change private; we don’t know. However, I can’t condemn anyone who truly wants to make a difference and Kim Kardashian seems like she’s making an honest effort

She’s actually becoming more vocal on hot topic issues. Kardashian recently advocated for gun control after the Orlando massacre in June.

Maybe Kanye and Kim are good for each other.

No Chill: Gilbert Arenas is an Absolute Fool, Torments Nick Young & Nick Jr. on Snapchat

Former NBA player, Gilbert Arenas, paid an unexpected visit to his friend Nick Young’s house. And let’s just Arenas was either high as kite or just annoying as hell. Hell, maybe a bit of both.

Arenas documented his visit via Snapchat. First he jumped the gate and then proceeded to tease Young on topics such as his split from Iggy Azalea and how the LA Lakers player has a basketball court in his backyard, but rarely gets any court time during the season.

While holding a knife, he even claimed he was the “new OJ” and insinuated he knew how to take care of Young’s baby mama drama.

If that’s not disturbing enough, the 34-year-old taunts Young’s 4-year-old son multiple times. He pushes the kid’s toy off the couch, throws his scooter, and clowns the little boy when he begins to cry.

Everything You Should Know About the Dallas Police Shooting Massacre

The recent fatal and tragically unnecessary shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile (both black men) by law enforcement within the brief span of just two days sparked demonstrations across the country.

But an otherwise peaceful Black Lives Matter protest against police brutality in downtown Dallas, TX on the evening of Thursday, July 7 took a deadly turn when a sniper(s) opened fire on the crowd, targeting police officers who were on hand to protect the protesters.

Five officers lost their lives and seven others were wounded. Two civilians were injured as well. This marks the deadliest day ever for Dallas Law Enforcement and the deadliest single attack on police officers since 9/11.

Police identified the shooter as 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson, an ex-Army reservist. Police stated that during hours of negotiations, Johnson “expressed anger for Black Lives Matter” about the recent shootings of black men by police, and he told a hostage negotiator he “wanted to kill [police] officers,” Dallas Police Chief David Brown said Friday.

The suspect also reported told police that “the end is coming” or “the end is near.”

As law official continue their investigation, details regarding the horrific massacre continue to emerge.

1Gunman Micah Johnson Identified With at Least One Politically Radical Group

Micah X. Johnson was involved with several pro-black and police watchdog groups, according to TMZ.

Johnson was a member of several Black Panther organizations, including The New Black Panther Party Houston Chapter.

Johnson’s Facebook page also revealed ties to a group called The Black Matrix whose mission appears to be to challenge a system that “white societal elites” have constructed to “control the perceptions of its Black populations.”

2Police Continue to Round Up and Question Suspects and Initially Identified the Wrong Man as the Shooter

The Dallas Police Department tweeted this (now deleted) message wrongly identifying the shooter.

Three additional suspects — two men and one woman — were arrested. The police have not stated for the record that these four individuals were the only persons involved in the attack.

Dallas PD Chief Brown stated that while the gunman claimed to have acted alone, “we’re not satisfied that we’ve exhausted every lead.”

According to the New York Times, initially it appeared that the shooting was a coordinated ambush, but a senior law enforcement official later said Johnson had been identified as the only shooter.

Brown said, “through our investigation of some of the suspects, it’s revealed to us that this was a well-planned, well thought out, evil tragedy by these suspects. And we won’t rest until we bring everyone to justice.”

Around 11:50 pm Thursday night, the Dallas police tweeted a photo of a man, Mark Hughes, they believed to be a suspect. It turns out Hughes was simply exercising his Second Amendment rights by openly carrying a gun at the scene. Hughes surrendered his weapon once the shooting began.

3Bomb Threats Were Apparently a False Alarm

Before authorities killed the gunman with a bomb, the suspect reportedly told negotiators that more cops were going to get hurt and that bombs had been planted throughout downtown Dallas.

After conducting primary and secondary sweeps of the area, police said Friday morning they found no explosives.

Police advised residents who work in the downtown area to stay home, and the city was on lockdown.

4This Was the First Time a Robot Was Used to Lethally Subdue a Suspect

After hours of negotiations with Johnson failed, Brown told reporters his department used a robot to deliver a bomb that killed the suspect. It was the only way to guarantee the safety of his officers. Brown said they saw no other option.

Robotics expert Peter W. Singer says that to his knowledge, this is the first time a robot has been used lethally by police.

5There Were No Reports of Hostility Between Dallas PD and Protesters

During the protest, Dallas PD chronicled events via Twitter, and while the mood was somber, police were on hand to maintain order and even posed for pictures with attendees.

Reportedly, “Many of the demonstrators could be seen in the typical Black Lives Matter pose dubbed ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ as they marched.”

6The 5 Slain Officers Have Been Identified

CNN reports that Dallas Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa was one of the five police officers killed in the ambush in Dallas, according to social media posts from family members and reports from local media outlets. Zamarripa was a U.S. Navy veteran and father of two.

Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer Brent Thompson was the first officer killed in that agency’s line of duty. Thompson, 43, was a newlywed (his spouse is also a transit officer) and a nearly seven-year veteran of the transit force.

“Brent was a great officer,” said James Spiller, police chief of DART. “He was an outstanding patrol officer as well as a rail officer. We have the highest respect for him,” Spiller told CNN.

Michael Krol, 40, was a former Wayne County sheriff’s deputy (2003-2007), according to Sheriff Benny Napoleon. Krol was a former resident of Redford Township in Michigan.

“We are saddened by the loss of the dedicated officers in Dallas — one of whom was a former member of this agency — and also the wounding of the other officers,” Napoleon said in a statement.  “Those officers made the ultimate sacrifice and died honoring their oaths to protect and serve. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families and also the Dallas Police Department.”

According to Dallas’ WFAA-TV, Police Sgt. Michael Smith, 55, was a native of Port Arthur, Texas. After graduating high school, Smith joined the Army and became a Ranger. Following his stint in the military, Smith graduated from the Lamar Institute of Technology in 1989 and eventually joined the Dallas Police Dept. where he served for 14 years. He leaves behind a wife and two young daughters.

Lorne Ahrens was a 6-foot-5, 300-pound, former semi-pro football player, according to this Washington Post report.  “He was a big ol’ boy,” Ahren’s father-in-law Charlie Buckingham told reporters. “Big as he is, just walking down the street he cut a real figure. I’m sure it helped him in his work.”

7Dallas Mayor Calls for Unity as Community Mourns

Thousands of mourners attended a prayer vigil Friday afternoon for the five officers killed in Thursday night’s shooting. Speaking to the massive crowd at Dallas’ Thanksgiving Square, Mayor Mike Rawlings acknowledged that racial tensions continue to divide the nation and called for unity in the city.

Meanwhile, people have been placing flowers on top of two police cars stationed as a makeshift memorial outside the headquarters of the Dallas Police Department and offering their condolences to nearby police officers.

What You Need to Know About Dallas Sniper Micah Xavier Johnson

The identity of the man suspected of killing five police officers has been released. Here are a few things you need to know about 25-year-old Micah Xavier Johnson and the Dallas massacre:

1He Was Not Affiliated with Terrorists or Other Groups

Johnson opened fired during a protest against police brutality. There has been much speculation whether he was actively involved with the Black Lives Matter movement, any similar organizations, or terrorist groups. Johnson has stated he worked alone.

However, on his personal Facebook page, Johnson had posted images of a “Black Power” poster and a pan-African flag. He had also “liked” pages for the Nation of Islam, the New Black Panther Party, the Black Riders Liberation Party, and the African-American Defense League.

2He Served in Afghanistan

The 25-year-old was a military veteran. He was a corporal in the Army Reserve for six years, until 2015. He deployed to Afghanistan in November 2014 and returned July 2014. He was even awarded an Army Achievement Medal.

Trained in carpentry and masonry after basic training, Johnson mostly did construction work during his deployment. Though he reportedly worked on Army vehicles, there is no indication that he ever participated in combat.

3Micah X. Johnson Targeted White Officers

According to Dallas police chief David Brown, Micah Johnson specifically targeted white police officers.

“He was upset about Black Lives Matter. He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. The suspect said he was upset at white people. The suspect stated he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers,” Brown stated in a press conference.

4Johnson Was Equipped for War

Johnson was reportedly wearing body armor and possessed a SKS semi-automatic assault rifle during the attack. He also had a handgun.

Police found “bomb making material, ballistic vests, rifles, ammunition, and a personal journal of combat tactics” during a raid of Johnson’s home

Dallas Police Chief Brown described that attack as a “well-planned, well-thought-out, evil tragedy.”

5He Was Killed With a “Robot Bomb”

After several hours of negotiations with Johnson failed, gunfire again erupted between Johnson and officers. He was then killed by a bomb that was delivered by a robot.

“We saw no other option but to use our bomb robot and place a device on its extension for it to detonate where the suspect was,” said Police Chief Brown.

Experts agree this was a “reasonable” tactic, given the circumstances.

6Micah Johnson’s Sister Spoke Out Saying the Shooting “Wasn’t Like Him”

Johnson’s sister, Nicole Johnson, expressed confusion and mourned the loss of her brother in now-deleted Facebook posts.

“I keep saying it’s not true. … My eyes hurt from crying,” she wrote. “The news will say what they think, but those that knew him know this wasn’t like him. This is the biggest loss we’ve had.”

Just days prior to the Dallas shooting, Nicole commented on the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

7His Neighbors Say He Was Friendly and Kept to Himself

Dallas investigators have spoken to his neighbors. By all accounts, he was quiet, pleasant, and kept to himself.

“He came real nice and friendly – he wasn’t aggressive,” said Jowanda Alexander. “He just came told me what happened and went on about his business,” she said recalling six months ago when Johnson informed her that her daughter was messing with his mailbox.

“He was nice. I didn’t have any problems with him,” said an anonymous neighbor.

8Were There Any Other Suspects?

Although Johnson reportedly stated he acted alone, Dallas police believed more shooters were involved. Three other suspects were taken into custody. However, their identities were not released. So far, police have confirmed that Johnson was the only shooter.

Ex-Congressman Joe Walsh Threatens Obama During Dallas Shooting, Warns “Real America” Is Coming for Him & Black Lives Matter “Punks”

As a sniper opened fire on protesters and killed multiple police officers in Dallas, former congressman Joe Walsh was slowly losing his mind. The conservative radio pundit quickly took to Twitter to condemn the Black Lives Matter Movement and basically threatened the President of the United States’ life.

Threatening the President is a class E felony under the United States Code Title 18, Section 871. If Walsh was really down for his cause, he should go ahead stand in solidarity with officers by getting in the back of the police car and taking residence in a jail cell.

And we all know exactly what he means when he references “Real America.” Walsh has made several inflammatory racist and sexist remarks in the past, and it’s unfortunate that he’s now using the deaths of officers and the valid frustrations of the black community to purport the belief that white men are masters of the universe.

Walsh’s tweet was heavily scrutinized and became a trending topic as we learned more about the deadly shooting. He deleted the tweet and attempted to clarify his initial thought.

But that doesn’t change the ridiculous tirade he spewed from his Twitter profile.

The President of the United States, regardless of who he/she is, should not be above critique. However, Walsh is a perfect example of the lack of respect and pure hatred some white people have for a black president and the black community.

Where was Walsh’s outrage over Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the countless others who have been unnecessarily killed by police officers? He deemed them “thugs,” while calling their murderers heroes.”

The death of the police officers is tragic and we mourn their loss. But, Walsh has once again proven that some lives are more valued than others. Let’s see if he’ll face any consequences for his careless threats of the President.

Philando Castile Would Not Be Dead If He Were White, Minnesota Governor Says

The separate, but fatal, shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile at the hands of police officers have rocked the country. The deaths of the two black men have revitalized the call to end police brutality and one Governor has bravely stated Castile’s death wouldn’t have happened had he not been black.

“Would this have happened if those passengers, the driver were white? I don’t think it would have,” said Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton.

The Democrat stated he was “appalled” at the death of Castile, a Minnesota citizen. He has already spoken with Minnesota senators and the area’s House of representative on the matter and has called for a Justice Department investigation.

“I can’t say how shocked I am and deeply, deeply offended that this would happen to somebody in Minnesota. No one should be shot in Minnesota for a tail light being out of function. No one should be killed in Minnesota while seated in their car,” Dayton said.

Castile, 32, was shot by a police officer during a traffic stop. It’s unclear what exactly led to the shooting. However, Castile’s girlfriend, Diamond “Lavish” Reynolds, recorded the aftermath of the shooting in a Facebook Live session. She stated the officer shot Castile several times while he was attempting to grab his ID out of his back pocket. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The unidentified officer is on paid administrative leave and the Justice Department has already launched an investigation.

Dayton’s words are a stark contrast to what many politicians have said regarding police brutality. Even President Obama has walked a tentative line when discussing the issue and the Black Lives Matter movement. Politicians tend to support the “Men in Blue,” blame the victim, or ask us to “wait for all the facts.”

Dayton has taken a bold stance and is not taking the murder of Philando Castile lightly. But the real question is whether other politicians will follow suit or if officers will continue to abuse and kill without consequence.

Chris Brown, Desiigner & Snoop Dogg Are NOT Helping the Black Lives Matter Movement With These Posts

The brutal, unnecessary and race-motivated deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile have rocked the country. And the outpouring of reactions from black celebrities has been ramping up as the evidence gathers and the public cries for answers.

Many celebrities are taking to their social media profiles to vent or make statements. Having a celebrity or public figure help drive awareness and activism around ending police brutality and supporting the Black Lives Matter movement is generally a good thing. But some of the celebrities stepping out there might want to take a bit more care and thought when it comes to crafting their messages.

Specifically, Desiigner, Chris Brown and Snoop Dogg should stop and hit the reset button with some of their social media activity. Because it actually could end up doing more harm than good for the movement.

Snoop Dogg Essentially Calls for Violent Assault in Retaliation

One the one hand, as one of the OGs of gangsta rap, seeing Snoop turn to violence in response to violence isn’t a surprise. But on the other hand, as a 40+ something father and husband, you’d think he’d evolved a bit mentally at this point, especially since he’s prone to palling around with Katy Perry these days more Compton’s most wanted.

But apparently, Snoop is ready to clap back at law enforcement in a not-so-friendly way. And he used his Instagram post to send out a dog whistle to any other gang members who might be interested in attacking police.

“Holla at me. All the real ones holla at me. What y’all wanna do? Fuck the marching, fuck the talking. Get at me,” said Snoop.

He also posted graphics calling for Bloods and Cripps to unite and set aside their differences. The implication here being that the gangs should unite against their common enemy: the police.

This kind of dog whistling is VERY, VERY dangerous. At the moment, several Dallas police officers have been killed in a vicious shooting at a Black Lives Matter movement. If the person responsible is a member of the BLM movement who subscribes to the kind of thinking Snoop is promoting, we see where that road leads.

Desiigner Smokes a Blunt While Ranting Against the Police

You might say that “respectability politics” shouldn’t matter in situations like this, but you can’t help but cringe as you watch Desiigner smoke a blunt and tell cops to “suck my dick.”

Not everyone can be as intelligent and eloquent as Jesse Williams was at the BET Awards, but we need more celebrities who can speak and present themselves like that and fewer celebrities getting high and swearing at the camera.

Chris Brown and His Rainbow Braids Plead for Unity

You would hope that Chris Brown has learned by now that public speaking and media relations are not his strengths. Unfortunately, Chris has failed to grasp this point and continues to make an ass of himself on social media regularly.

In support of the BLM movement, Chris took to his Instagram to call on humanity as a whole to do better. And he preached non-violent retaliation, which was good. But he sort of didn’t follow his own advice when he told people to be “articulate.”

“We don’t gotta be violent, or irate or fucking belligerent. We can be real, articulate humans and really get this shit together, my nigga,” said Brown.

The problem is that Chris couldn’t get through a single sentence in that video without swearing. So how articulate and “together” is he? The obvious answer is “not very.” Learn to speak without swearing and compose yourself in a manner that speaks authority and leadership, and less restless crack user. All that fidgeting on camera for no damn good reason.
