Ginuwine’s Nudes Leak Online, Thirsty Twitter Responds with Memes & Praise

If you checked Twitter’s trending topics last night (Nov. 16), you may have noticed that Ginuwine had the internet going crazy. Basically, all of Twitter wanted to jump on the R&B singer’s saddle and ride his “Pony.”

Though that’s a reference to his signature song, Pony (1996), I’m really not joking. The 46-year-old’s alleged nudes have hit the net and Twitter seemed quite impressed. Memes, jokes, and praise catapulted “Ginuwine” to not only a trending topic in the US, but also briefly worldwide.

Ginuwine (whose real name is Elgin Lumpkin) caught wind of why his mentions were blowing up and responded to the frenzy on Twitter. Though he doesn’t confirm the leaked pics are his dick pics, he does definitely put someone he shouldn’t have trusted on blast.

I’m also curious to what he means by “stay tuned.” Are more pics to come?

In any case, he attempted to shift the focus with the following tweets.

Ginuwine recently divorced his wife, singer Sole. The two were married for 11 years and separated in 2014. Their divorce was finalized in 2015. So, again, the R&B star was “just a bachelor looking for a partner” (another “Pony” reference). It’s quite possible the ladies’ man has slipped into some DMs and shared a few private pics.

What’s interesting is that the alleged nudes were actually leaked on Tumblr back in August but was reported and taken down. However, nothing disappears on the internet and the pics could be found with a search.

Kandi Burruss Says She and Phaedra Parks “Don’t F**k With Each Other”

If you were hoping against hope that one-time pals Kandi Burruss and Phaedra Parks would be able to mend fences and patch up their friendship some time this season, you can give up now.

Kandi Burruss made it clear that her friendship with her Real Housewives of Atlanta is pretty “dead and gone” like the Justin Timberlake and T.I. song.

While answering fan questions on Instagram, Kandi clarified why she didn’t receive her former gal pal Phaedra so warmly during a recent episode of RHOA.

Basically, Phaedra and I haven’t been around each other one on one without anybody else around in over a year at that time and that’s because we really didn’t mess with each other like that.

But she did come to the hospital when I had the baby, but things where really not great. She reached out and said she wanted to come, so I was like “Cool”…tryna be cordial, but then she said something else after that and I was like, “I don’t fuck with her.”

We really don’t fuck with each other, so we were trying to just be cordial because we have to be on the show together.

Welp. Guess that ship has sailed and left the dock.

Not even the birth of Kandi’s baby could bring their friendship back together. And babies have successfully held crazy Kardashian relationships together so that’s saying a lot.

Given Kandi’s track record with “friends” on RHOA, she doesn’t tend to really backtrack with folks once that bridge is burned. Perfect example being Kim Zolciak, who Kandi was super friendly with but quickly distanced herself once Kim denied her rightfully earned iTunes coins.

Phaedra, to be honest, seems unbothered about the whole thing but then again, it ain’t nothin’ for Phaedra to make friends with someone who was once her enemy. Remember how cozy she got with NeNe last season?

Iggy Azalea Is Very Proud of Her “Award-Winning Vagina”

Iggy Azalea is happy to know that her vagina wins awards, and she isn’t afraid to let the world know about it.

She may have become the laughing stock of rap music over here in the United States, but over in her home country of Australia, she’s still a pretty big deal, which probably explains why GQ Australia decided to present Igloo Australia (sorry, that never gets old!) with the “Woman of the Year Award” Wednesday night (Nov. 16).

While accepting her award, the X Factor Australia judge — who showed off her boob job, rocking a black blazer with no shirt underneath — boasted about her “award-winning vagina.”

“I didn’t know everybody was going to have such hilarious speeches and I didn’t prepare anything foolishly,” she joked to the crowd. “Thank you GQ for this award. I have won a lot of awards over the last few years but this one means the absolute most to me because I can finally say I have an award-winning vagina.”

Jon Hamm echoed Iggy’s sentiment later in the night when he received his award for “International Man of the Year.”

“This is amazing for me. I got the best vagina in the world,” the Mad Men star joked in his acceptance speech. “How do you say no to that? I guess the short answer is you don’t. You just say, ‘Yes, this vagina is phenomenal.’”

While it may sound like it came out of nowhere, Iggy’s “award-winning vagina” joke seemed to reference a comment she made in her interview with GQ magazine prior to receiving her award.

“I’m excited [about my award],” she said in this month’s issue of GQ. “I like to call it ‘Vagina of the Year’ though. I don’t know why it cracks me up, I just think it’s funny to reduce myself down to a vagina sometimes.”

She added, “‘Vagina of the Year’ is a big achievement, number one Australian p***y. People won’t get the joke, but it’s funny because [in the media] women are reduced to vaginas. Some days I’m a vagina, others I’m a human.”

Despite her having an award-winning vagina, Iggy Azalea has had a pretty rough year.

In addition to breaking up with her cheating NBA star fiancée Nick Young (who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and welcomed his second child with his baby mama less than five months after his split with Iggy), she got dragged on social media by the BeyHive for saying that Beyoncé’s “Becky with the good hair” lyric on “Sorry” was “racist” towards white women. And on top of all of that, she’s facing a $1.5 million lawsuit from Atlanta producer Jon Jon Traxx.

Honestly, her GQ award is probably the highlight of her crazy year, so it makes sense that she’s happy her vagina allowed her to receive an award. Now, whether it’s deserving of such an honor, we have no idea, but her rumored boyfriend French Montana might know a little something about that.

Love & Hip Hop NY Season 7 Super Trailer Promises More Wig Snatching, Heart Attacks and Fist Fights

The original heavyweight of the Love & Hip Hop franchise is back and ready to reclaim its crown.

In a bit of a throwback, Kimbella Vanderhee, Juelz Santana’s baby mama, returns to the show. And in the trailer, we see her being confronted by her friend Yandy, who claims Kimbella hasn’t been there for her in her time of need with Mendeecees’ prison sentence.

Elsewhere, we see the that the Creep Squad, which consists of Cisco, Rich Dollaz, DJ Self and Peter Gunz, is starting to fall apart as Cisco is, once again, fighting with his boys over a woman. Strangely enough, Peter and his baby mama drama with Tara and Amina aren’t at the center of the storm this time. In fact, Tara and Amina aren’t shown in the trailer at all, which suggests they’ll be guest stars, if they even appear at all.

Speaking of guest stars, Cam’Ron, Juelz’s Dipset homeboy, is also along for the ride. Cam is a bit unpredictable, so who knows what will come out of this.

One thing we do know is that Cardi B’s fiery attitude and slick mouth haven’t changed one bit. We see that she’s decided to start hooking up with one of her producers. The only problem is he’s got a woman. But Cardi B doesn’t give a single fuck and when she’s confronted by her lover’s woman, Cardi snatches her own wig off and gets to swinging.

But Cardi’s brawl is nothing compared to the utter chaos that will be unleashed as Yandy goes toe-to-toe with Mendeecees’ two baby mamas.

You’ll recall Lil’ Mendeecees’ mother and his butch-ass lesbian grandmother from previous seasons. They’re back and this time they’ve teamed up with another woman Mendeecees knocked up named Erica, who is the mother of his other son, Aseem. Erica hasn’t been featured on the show before. However, things get a little too turnt up for Kim, the aforementioned butch grandma, and she starts to have a heart attack.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Is People Magazine’s First Non-White Sexiest Man Alive in 20 Years

Someone finally told People magazine that “sexy” not only comes any many shapes and sizes, but races too. The magazine unveiled its annual “Sexiest Man Alive” issue and has chosen the first person of color in 20 years.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the lucky guy to hold the title. The half-black, half-Samoan is the first non-white person to be named “Sexiest Man Alive” since Denzel Washington waaaay back in 1996. So, umm what took so long?

Johnson jokes the honor is the “pinnacle” of his career, but it also made him reflect on what he has achieved in his career. Growing up in Hawaii, his family struggled financially. He also had several run-ins with the law and was unsure of who he was and wanted to be.

Now, he’s the highest paid actor and able to provide for his family the way he’s always wanted.

Despite the body and the chiseled face — which he exfoliates — what truly makes Johnson the “Sexiest Man Alive” is loving relationships with longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, and his two daughters.

“I’ve made big sweeping changes in my career over the years, which have served me nicely. But I feel that the big sweeping changes that happened in my life, in my relationships, of being a dad, of being a partner, and the things that I was and the things that I am, has really lent itself to a confidence. We just have this awesome family that is truly non-traditional but so rooted in love. And that’s such a cool thing. I’m very proud of it.”

The Rock is certainly a man worthy of People’s honor, let’s just hope it doesn’t take another 20 years for another non-white “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Atlanta-Based Anti-Trump Group Has Strong Message for the President-Elect

The election of Donald Trump has sparked protests, walk-outs, and anger across the country. One Atlanta group decided to show just how much they disapprove of the President-elect in the most epic way possible.

On Monday (Nov. 14), some Atlanta residents may have noticed a simple, yet emphatic statement sprawled on the side of the Crowne Plaza hotel. Three stories tall, projected for everyone to see was the message, “F**K TRUMP.”

Using tin foil, an X-Acto knife, and home movie projector, the Metro Atlanta Democratic Socialists of America pulled a boss move and told the presumed 45th President how they truly felt.

“Sometimes you’ve got to do something shocking and startling. Sometimes, it makes people uncomfortable,” said Milton Tambor, Chair of the organization.

Though it doesn’t begin to compare to what Trump has said in the past, some were outraged that children were exposed to the profanity being projected. Tambor is making no apologies.

“I think part of what parents have to explain is these may not be nice words, but a lot of people are upset, a lot of people are concerned they’ll be deported, a lot of people are concerned they’ll be losing the healthcare that they have, a lot of people are concerned they’ll be the targets of racism, hatred and bigotry and that’s what needs to be explained, not the word itself.”

“F**k Trump” was projected for 30 minutes before the Atlanta DSA took it down. Authorities were notified, but no one was arrested nor were any charges filed because no crime was committed. The projection didn’t cause any permanent damage and was not considered vandalism.

Though Tambor said he is not afraid of potential arrests.

“We’re used to civil disobedience. The more people who are arrested, the more influence you have on changing policies.”

Crowne Plaza hotel was not pleased in being an unwilling participant in the protest action and released a statement regarding the matter:

The Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown hotel holds the safety, security and well-being of our guests and employees as our top priority and concern.

Overnight, the associates of the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown hotel were alerted to a defamatory statement being projected onto the Crowne Plaza/Staybridge Suites Midtown Atlanta building by an unrelated person or group from a distant location.

Our hotel staff and leadership team immediately implemented proper protocols to notify local authorities and have this projected statement removed as quickly as possible.

The hotel staff continues to cooperate fully with local authorities in their investigation. All further questions should be directed to the City of Atlanta Police Department.

It seems the Atlanta DSA is actually expressing what many Americans feel right now. Personally, the best I can do at the moment is acknowledge Donald Trump as the “President-elect.” So, while Tambor and his organization may have ruffled a few feathers, their actions are understandable.

#ThankYouObama: BET & Twitter Pay Tribute to President Barack Obama, the Coolest POTUS Ever

In just a few months, we will have to say goodbye to the coolest President of the United States ever. Last night (Nov. 15), BET aired the TV special Love & Happiness: An Obama Celebration. The program celebrated President Barack Obama’s two-term presidency and also sparked the hashtag, #ThankYouObama.

The special was filmed last month on the White House lawn and included performances by Janelle Monae, Common, and Usher. Celebrities such as Jesse Williams and Samuel L. Jackson also spoke and the President and First Lady Michelle Obama were honored from the audience.

BET encouraged audience participation by using #ThankYouObama. The hashtag quickly became a trending topic and took on a life of its own as many expressed their gratitude for the First Family.

Jwan Yosef, Artist: Some Things to Know About Ricky Martin’s New Fiancé

Ricky has announced that he is now engaged to a man named Jwan Yosef, who he has been dating for more than a year following his split from Carlos González Abella in 2003 (though the breakup wasn’t officially announced until January 2004).

Now that Ricky is in a new relationship, people want to know all about his new man. Who is Jwan Yosef, where is he from, and how did he and Ricky meet?

1. Jwan Yosef is an openly gay Kurdish-Swedish painter and conceptual artist.

Jwan Yosef was born in Syria (1984) to a Kurdish family. In Kurdish, his name means “handsome, beautiful and young.”

When his family immigrated to Sweden, he studied painting at the Pernby School of Painting in Stockholm between 2004 and 2006. He transferred to Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (also in Stockholm), where he graduated with a BA in Fine Arts in 2009. He earned his MA in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins in London in 2011.

On his Wikipedia page, he is described as a painter and “artist of plastic arts.” According to Wiki, he has been a part of a “great number of art fairs and group exhibitions.”

In 2013, Yosef held two solo exhibitions titled “Painting about Sex, Flesh and Violence, lol” at the DIVUS Gallery in London, England and “High Notes” at the Galleri Anna Thulin in Stockholm, Sweden. That same year, he was awarded the Threadneedle Prize and the BEERS Contemporary Award for Emerging Art.

Yosef was part of a group exhibition called “There and Beck Again,” along with fellow Konstfack grads Josef Bull, Petr Davydtchenko and Natasja Loutchko. He’s also a founding member of the not-for-profit art studio The Bomb Factory Art Foundation in Archway, North London.

2. Jwan Yosef is engaged to Ricky Martin.

Ricky Martin appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Wednesday (Nov. 16), where he revealed that he had proposed to Jwan Yosef, his boyfriend of more than a year.

“We just got engaged,” Martin said. “I proposed. I was really nervous. But I got on my knees and I took out — not a box — I just had them in a little velvet pouch.”

Martin told Ellen his proposal was non-traditional. “Instead of saying, ‘Will you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something.’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you.’ And he was like, ‘What is the question?’ [I said] ‘Would you marry me?’ It was very beautiful … He said yes.”

3. Jwan and Ricky went public with their relationship in April 2016.

Martin also told Ellen about how he met his new fiancé. “He’s a conceptual artist, and I’m a collector. So I started looking for art and I saw his art and I went crazy because I love what he does, really original, and I contacted him — and then I collected him.”

Even though they’ve been dating for more than a year, Martin and Yosef didn’t make their relationship public until April when they appeared on the red carpet together at the amFAR Inspiration Gala in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Martin confirmed the relationship on Instagram by posting a photo of them at the event along with the caption, “Yup.”

Meet Sherien Almufti: Internet Uncovers Identity of Apollo Nida’s Fiancé

The internet will never let you down! Earlier this week, we learned Apollo Nida of The Real Housewives of Atlanta fame has found love while in prison and is now engaged. While Bravo was hoping to reveal the mystery woman on the show, the Internet has already brewed and spilled the tea.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Apollo’s new fiancée, Sherien Almufti!

According to savvy social media investigators, Sherien is about 34 years old, a divorcée, and the mother of a daughter around 3 or 4 years old. Earlier reports claimed Apollo’s new girl lives in New Jersey, near the Fort Dix prison where he is currently locked up. However, Sherien lives in Philadelphia and is a licensed real estate agent, though she did attend high school in New Jersey.

The new couple allegedly began dating in 2014 (before Apollo was locked up) and he popped the question in September 2016. A woman also told Fameolous that she sees Apollo and Sherien “hugging [and] kissing” when she goes to visit her husband at the same prison.

Peter Thomas: Cynthia Bailey Wasn’t As Committed to Our Marriage As I Was

Cynthia Bailey got married on reality TV and now she’s going through a divorce on reality TV. The Atlanta “Housewife” is hoping for a friendly spit from Peter Thomas, but it seems the two are already off to a rocky start.

Peter recently contacted our friends over at Straight from the A to reveal he was hurt by a statement Cynthia made in a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. During a confessional, Cynthia admitted that she felt Peter only wanted to remain married for the sake of being in a relationship.

“When I decided to get married, he knew that I wasn’t the type of woman to stay in something just to stay in it. Peter is built a little bit differently. He will stay in the relationship just to be in the relationship and that just doesn’t work for me.”

Peter was not only offended by this statement, he now believes Cynthia was never as committed to their marriage as he was.

“My commitment is not to ‘stay in it to stay in it’ my commitment was to stay in it because I know that every day is not a sunny day… not in any marriage.

“There’s highs and lows. But the interesting thing about the highs and the lows is that you go through them together. That’s what commitment is. I’m committed. I don’t ‘stay in it to stay in it.’

“Obviously she wasn’t as committed as I was… and I was offended by her statement.”

In her Bravo blog, Cynthia also admitted that she is finding it hard to remain friends as the couple proceed in their divorce.

She wrote:

A divorce is a very difficult thing to go through. It is spiritually and emotionally draining. The hardest part of this process for me has been trying to maintain a friendship and mutual respect for each other. We were friends before we were husband and wife. I just don’t want to lose that.

Cynthia and Peter’s marriage began to crumble as Peter basically started living in Charlotte to focus on his sports bar, while Cynthia remained in Atlanta.

Though cheating rumors have plagued the couple in the past, an Instagram video last year depicting Peter and another woman getting a little too close for comfort sparked several rumors and delivered a heavy blow the two never seemed to fully recover from.

However, Peter emphatically says nothing happened with the mystery woman. Cynthia even told her divorce lawyer infidelity was never an issue. The video was just the final straw in their already strained marriage.

No one ever likes a messy divorce. I hope the two can find a way to achieve an amicable split and also maintain their friendship if that’s what they both want. (Although a little bickering would make this lackluster RHOA season a little more interesting).

Beverly Whaling: Things to Know About WV Mayor Who Agreed With “Ape in Heels” Michelle Obama Facebook Comment

The Obamas have had to deal with racist undertones since moving into the White House in 2009. The campaign and election of Donald Trump has reignited such racist rhetoric and other elected officials are beginning to follow suit.

Thousands are calling for a West Virginia mayor to be removed after she agreed with a racist Facebook post regarding First Lady Michelle Obama. Here are a few things you need to know about Beverly Whaling and the comment calling the FLOTUS an “ape in heels.”

1. Mayor Beverly Whaling agreed with Facebook post comparing Michelle Obama to an “ape in heels.”

After seeing a photo of Michelle Obama and future First Lady Melania Trump, Pamela Taylor (a Facebook friend of Whaling) shared her thoughts on the matter on Saturday (Nov. 12). She proceeded to compare Michelle to an “ape in heels.”

“It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House. I’m tired of seeing [an] Ape in heels.”

Whaling responded to the post by writing “Just made my day Pam.”

The original post, as well as Whaling and Taylor’s Facebook accounts have since been deleted.

2. Over 150,000 people have signed an online petition to remove Whaling as mayor of a town with roughly 467 residents. Whaling has since submitted a letter of resignation.

Whaling is the mayor of Clay, WV, a town that has approximately 467 residents according to the 2015 census. However, Pamela Taylor’s racist post quickly went viral and over 150,000 people have signed an online petition to Whaling and Taylor to lose their jobs.

At the time the story went viral, Whaling had not stepped down, however a Clay councilman confirmed to the Charleston Gazette-Mail that the issue would be discussed during a previously schedule council meeting on Tuesday (Nov. 15). The mayor was elected in 2015 and, if permitted, her term would not end until 2019.

Beverly Whaling has since submitted a letter resignation in response to the controversy surrounding her Facebook comment.

Taylor is not an elected official, though at the time of her post, she worked for a non-profit Clay County organization, which provided aid to elderly and low-income Clay County residents. Taylor told the local ABC affiliate WCHS that she was placed on leave. However, a representative for the nonprofit says Taylor was “removed” from her position and no longer works for the organization.

3. Mayor Whaling has offered a half-hearted apology, while Pamela Taylor feels she has become the victim of a hate crime.

Beverly Whaling has offered somewhat of an apology for her role in the matter. She says she did not intend to be racist and apologized to those who viewed her comment as such. She, of course, also denies being a racist.

“I would like to apologize for any unintentional harm caused by my comment. My comment was not intended to be racist at all. I was referring to my day being made for the change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused! Those who know me, know that I am not in any way racist! Again, I would like to apologize for this getting out of hand!”

Pamela Taylor, on the other hand, feels she is the victim. She told WSAZ she did not intend for her original post to be interpreted as racist and that she was expressing her opinions on Michelle’s physical attractiveness, not skin color (like that’s any better).

In fact, Taylor says the entire situation has become a “hate crime against me.” She claims she and her family have received death threats and plans to file a lawsuit against those that have slandered and libeled her.

Of the 8,910 Clay County residents, only two-tenths of 1% of the population is African American. About 77% of the county supported Donald Trump and the President-elect ultimately won every county in West Virginia. However, WV Democratic Party leaders and the NAACP West Virginia chapter have denounced Whaling and Taylor’s comments.

Joe Murphy, vice chairman of the Clay Democratic Executive Committee:

“While we respect Ms. Taylor’s right to free speech, we strongly oppose any form of racism or hate speech. We fully support our president and the first lady.”

State Democratic Party Chairwoman Belinda Biafore:

“On behalf of my fellow Mountaineers I would like extend my sincerest apologies to first lady Michelle Obama. West Virginia truly is better than this. These radical, hateful, and racist ideals are exactly what we at the West Virginia Democratic Party will continue to fight against. These words and actions do not represent West Virginia values.

“We will continue to fight for a West Virginia that is inclusive, not divisive and a home for all to feel safe, welcome, and protected. In a time when we are at a crossroads and many fear the future we must stand together against hate of all forms.”

“I feel so it’s unfortunate that people still have these racist undertones. Unfortunately, this is a reality that we are dealing with in America today. There’s no place for these types of attitudes in our state.”

Tika Sumpter’s Mom Arrested for Having $10 Library Fine, Actress Blasts Police Department on Twitter

As if we didn’t have enough to worry about when it comes to law enforcement, police are apparently now arresting citizens for late library fines. Is this what we can expect in Donald Trump’s America?

Actress Tika Sumpter took to Twitter Monday (Nov. 14) to reveal her mother had been arrested for having a $10 library fine at the Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield. WTF?!

The arrest took place in Smithfield, North Carolina (of course it would be my home state). According to the library’s website, printed books are fined 25 cents per item, per day. Meanwhile, audiobooks, CDs, and movies, incur a 50 cent fine per item, per day.

Sumpter’s mother was eventually released and the actress wrote on Twitter that even the officers working at the police station were dismayed by the strange arrest.

Given that we’re headed into worrisome times with President-elect Trump, Sumpter also stressed the importance of local elections.

We all know that every state has its own strange laws, but they are rarely enforced and certainly don’t lead to arrests. I’m sure Sumpter’s mother would have much rather reached into her purse and paid the $10 fine than be hauled off in jail.

However, I’m also sure the arresting officers were not expecting her famous daughter to put them on blast on social media. The Johnston County Library and police department definitely played themselves on this one.

Alright, before we go any further, let me just say this. Our country finds itself in a tumultuous time right now.

With the election of The Donald as our next president, it’s understandable that many people are feeling upset, helpless, or downright angry. And there’s a reason so many people across the country have taken to the streets to protest the election of The Donald as their next president.

And while some may disagree with the protests, or the manner in which they are being done, everyone has a right to have their voices heard. Protests are a part of our constitutional right, and violent retaliation against those protests should never be the answer.

Again. I understand all of that. But with that being said, this right here is downright hilarious. A recent anti-Trump protest at Ohio State was interrupted when a (I’m assuming) supporter of The Donald decided to end it early by tackling the speaker to the ground.

I feel bad about saying it, but there’s something so funny about seeing a hipster get truck-sticked to the ground. Add in the fact that it’s by some hunchback looking guy angrily yelling, “You Idiot!” followed by the loud thump and “Hey homeboy!” Pure internet gold right here.

Turns out the future NFL linebacker is Shane Stanton and a student at OSU. He was quickly escorted out by police (as the crowd chanting “shame” repeatedly – guess they like Game of Thrones) and has been suspended and faces a misdemeanor assault charge.

As for the speaker, he wasn’t injured but he did break his glasses. I’m sure the fact that I find this so funny makes me a bad person, but I’m alright with that because I got a good laugh in for the day.

Madam President? Millions Petition Electoral College to Make Hillary Clinton POTUS After Winning Popular Vote

There were many disappointed (and maybe stunned) people as it became clear Hillary Clinton had lost the presidential election. Or has she?

Protests and anti-Trump campaigns have sparked across the nation as we prepare for a Donald Trump presidency. However, there may still be hope that we’ll be saying “Madam President” come January 20, 2017 and it all lies in the hands of the Electoral College.

Trump clinched the minimum 270 electoral votes needed to become Barack Obama’s presumed successor. However, Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 700,000 votes (.5%) and the lead continues to grow as final votes are counted.

This has caused many petitions urging members of the Electoral College — which doesn’t officially vote until December 19th — to forgo tradition and vote for Clinton instead of the admittedly unprepared Trump, thus electing Mrs. Clinton as the 45th President of the United States.

The Electoral College is composed of 538 members, at least one member for each state (including District of Columbia) senator and House lawmaker. Each member pledges to vote for the candidate that won their state; though it’s not necessarily required. Depending on the state, an electorate can vote however they choose without consequence or face a fine.

Amongst the many petitions, a particular Cchange.org petition has gained the most traction. It has received almost 4.4 million signatures urging the Electoral College to elect Secretary Clinton. The creator of the petition even writes Clinton supporters “will be glad to pay” those facing fines if they go against states won by Trump. The petition is just shy of its 4.5 million signature goal.

The Electoral College has faced heavy criticism in recent years. Even prior to the 2016 election, both Trump and Clinton have called for its end. The system is now seen as outdated and many cite its roots in slavery as a reason to end.

Some historians point to the critical role that slavery played in the formation of the system. Southern delegates to the 1787 Constitutional Convention, most prominently James Madison of Virginia, were concerned that their constituents would be outnumbered by Northerners. The Three-Fifths Compromise, however, allowed states to count each slave as three-fifths of a person — enough, at the time, to ensure a Southern majority in presidential races.

Clinton is the fifth presidential nominee to win the popular vote, but lose the electoral vote. The controversial 2000 election was the previous example of this scenario in modern history when George W. Bush got more electoral votes, but Al Gore won the popular vote.

Even though she’s clearly more qualified and prepared, the Electoral College electing Clinton is definitely a longshot. However, I hope the millions of people supporting these petitions and protesting the current President-elect will continue to speak up, speak out, and hold President Trump accountable over the next four years. The outcome may not have been what most of us desired, but “We the People” still have power.

Incarcerated Apollo Nida Set to Appear on Real Housewives of Atlanta With New Fiancé

The first two episodes of the current season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta have primarily focused on the barely finished “Moore Manor” “Chateau Sheree.” However, keep watching because things are about to get crazy. Word on the street is jailbird Apollo is set to return to the show… with his new fiancé!

Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida will make an appearance. As Apollo is still in prison serving an 8-year sentence, his return the show will be voice-only. According to TMZ, Apollo is newly engaged and his soon-to-be wife will also make her TV debut.

Via TMZ:

“Sources close to production tell us Apollo started dating the woman 2 years ago … before he started his prison sentence, and they got engaged a couple months ago. We’re told the woman lives in NJ, not far from the federal prison where he’s serving his sentence… and she visits twice a week.”

Production is keeping the identity of the woman under wraps. Unfortunately, it looks like she has not/will not film any scenes with Phaedra, which is probably why they’re keeping her identity a secret so that we’ll tune in for the big reveal. However, cameras did capture Phaedra’s reaction of learning the father of her two young boys got engaged… while in jail.

Apollo was sentenced to 8 years (initially facing 30 years) in 2014 for bank fraud and identity theft. Over the course of four years, he defrauded over 50 people and stole at least $2.3 million by setting up fake bank accounts to launder money and creating fake debt collection agencies. He also cashed fraudulent US Treasury checks and US income tax returns.

It’s unknown when Apollo’s episodes will air. But make sure your DVRs are set because this is going to be good!

Obama Will Have to Babysit Donald Trump Throughout His Presidency (Report)

Since Hillary Clinton clinched the nomination to be the Democratic Presidential nominee, President Barack Obama was probably looking forward to passing the reins to capable hands. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen and Obama might have to linger around the White House longer than he anticipated.

Anyone with a little a bit sense can agree that President-elect Donald Trump — who, unlike the 44 presidents before him, has never held elected office or served in the military — is in over his head has assumed the role of Commander-in-Chief in just a few months. Because of this, there are reports that reveal Obama will basically babysit Trump and “spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do.”

The Wall Street Journal reports:

During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.

So yeah, we’re screwed!

All of the fears and worries you’ve have had since election night are completely justified. Trump has spent most of Obama’s presidency questioning his citizenship and, during his own campaign, vowed to dismantle the president’s legacy. Now, the President-elect even concedes he will need Obama’s “counsel” in the future and is overwhelmed with the task(s) ahead of him.

Is it too late to for a recount? Better yet, can the Supreme Court just grant Obama another year or two under these dire circumstances?

New York Woman Sues Zara After Discovering Dead Rat Sewn Into Dress

The following story will most likely creep you out and give you the heebie-jeebies. A New York woman is suing the clothing company, Zara, after suffering an extremely gross experience while wearing one of its products. Cailey Fiesel says she found a dead rat sewn into her dress!

The 24-year old bought two dresses from a Greenwich, Connecticut Zara store in July. However, she wore one of the dresses for the first time to work in August. Court documents detail the experience of how she discovered the alleged rat sewn in the hem of her dress. It literally reads like a horror story.

Per the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit:

“While at work, she started to notice a disturbingly pungent odor and was unable to identify the source. Despite getting up from her desk and walking around, she was unable to escape this odor.

As the day went on, Ms. Fiesel started to notice what felt like a loose string from her dress rubbing against her leg… without giving it much thought she reached down with her hand to try and locate the piece of string that was rubbing against her.

To her utter shock and disbelief, as she ran her hand over the hem of the dress she felt an unusual bulge and suddenly realized that it was not a string that was rubbing against her leg but was instead a leg rubbing against her leg. The leg of a dead rodent that is.”

Citing personal injuries and emotional distress, Fiesel has sued the Spanish company claiming it was negligent in manufacturing, inspecting, and distributing its products. She also allegedly suffered a rash caused by a “rodent borne disease.”

The monetary amount in damages Fiesel is seeking is unknown. The court documents simply states “a sum that will fairly and adequately compensate her for the damages and injuries she has suffered.”

Zara has acknowledged the lawsuit and is investigating Fiesel’s claim.

A Zara spokesman said:

“Zara USA has stringent health and safety standards, and we are committed to ensuring that all of our products meet these rigorous requirements.”

I absolutely hate rats and their gross tails. After this bizarre story, I suggest you all look into your closets and closely examine the hems of your clothing. You might have dead rat too (or maybe something worse)!

Adrienne Bailon & Israel Houghton Tie the Knot With Intimate Paris Wedding

Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton didn’t waste any time. Just three months after announcing their engagement, the couple has already tied the knot.

Bailon and Houghton wed last week in Paris at the Hotel Plaza Athénéel. E! News as well as Bailon’s daytime talk show, The Real, have released video of the couple exchanging vows and their first kiss!

Paris was the perfect place for the newlyweds to share their “I Do’s.” The couple became engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower in August and their rehearsal dinner was also held at the same Paris restaurant where the two first met almost a decade ago, Ferdi.

With about 70 guests, the ceremony was an intimate affair. “I’m so glad we chose such an intimate group of who have shared in our journey and know our hearts and that I honestly feel comfortable crying in front of,” Bailon told People magazine. “I didn’t want to invite people I felt I had to put on a performance for. I wanted every moment to be genuine and really special and that’s what it is going to be.”

The magazine has also exclusively released the couple’s official wedding photo.

Bailon and Houghton’s fast-tracked relationship has been plagued with controversy and rumors since the two went public in April. Houghton had just divorced his wife of 20 years, which lead to cheating allegations. Most recently, it was revealed Houghton fathered two children outside of his marriage and is currently being sued to pay child support.

Despite the drama, Bailon tells People she couldn’t be happier.

“I genuinely just feel so blessed and grateful. I’ve honestly never been happier in my entire life. I’ve never felt what I feel right now. I can’t even describe what it is, but it’s such a peace mixed with total excitement.”

Let’s hope the couple holds onto that happiness for as long as they can before more of Houghton’s hot tea spills. One thing we can guarantee, though, is that they will enjoy their honeymoon. The couple recently revealed they were “saving themselves” for marriage.

How to Get Away With Murder Poll: Who Is Under the Sheet? Frank, Nate or Wes (or Someone Else)?

WHO IS UNDER THE SHEET?!?

We’re one week away from the mid-season finale of How to Get Away With Murder, which means that there are just days (DAYS!) left until we finally get the answer to that burning question that’s been bugging us all season long: “Who the hell is up under that sheet?!”

In the Season 3 premiere, it was revealed that someone died in Annalise’s house, which is ON FIRE, Y’ALL. Annalise fights her way through policemen and paramedics to take a peek at who’s under the white sheet on the stretcher. She howls and breaks down into tears (Annalise tears, which include A LOT OF SNOT) after finding out who died. Later in the season, we found out Laurel was in the fire also. She survived, but she’s in pretty bad shape.

As the rest of the season unfolded, we were slowly able to eliminate a number of characters from the list of people who could be dead. We know it’s not Laurel (she survived and is recovering in the hospital), and we know for a fact it’s not Bonnie, Oliver, Michaela or Asher. And at the very end of Thursday night’s episode, Connor’s name was cleared after it was revealed he was under a different sheet (he hooked up with the same guy who turned Oliver down for having HIV).

So that leaves only a few characters: Nate (Annalise’s on-and-off lover), Frank (Annalise’s former “hitman” who she now hates after learning he’s responsible for killing her baby) and Wes (Annalise’s most treasured student who she’s been fighting to protect at all costs).

Frank has been MIA most of the season, but in last night’s episode, he finally comes face-to-face with Annalise and they get into a huge argument. He feels terrible for being responsible for killing her baby years ago, so he plans to “fix” things by killing himself. As he points a gun to his head, Annalise yells at him to “DO IT!” while Bonnie is behind her crying and begging him not to.

The scene ends without us knowing what happens from there, but the question still remains: Who is under that dang sheet?!

Judging by Annalise’s distraught reaction in the season opener, it’s someone she cares deeply about, which could possibly rule out Frank, leaving either Nate or Wes (or maybe someone else that isn’t so obvious).

So the question remains, “WHO IS UNDER THE SHEET?!”

Leonard Cohen Cause of Death: How Did the Canadian Singer-Songwriter Die?

Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has died at the age of 82, his label, Sony Music Canada, confirmed via Facebook. Though Cohen’s death was made public late Thursday night (Nov. 10), The Washington Post is reporting that he passed away on November 7th.

Other details, including his cause of death, have not yet been made available.

“It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet, songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away,” the official statement on Cohen’s Facebook page read. “We have lost one of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries. A memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later date. The family requests privacy during their time of grief.”

Though he began his career as a well-regarded poet and novelist before becoming a performer in the 1960s, Leonard Cohen was best known as a “hugely influential singer and songwriter whose work spanned nearly 50 years,” Rolling Stone noted.

While he never had a song in the Top 40, several songs that he wrote, including “Hallelujah,” “Suzanne,” “Bird on the Wire” and “First We Take Manhattan” were recorded by big-name performers like Nina Simone, Johnny Cash and R.E.M.

Cohen’s son Adam wrote in a statement to Rolling Stone: “My father passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles with the knowledge that he had completed what he felt was one of his greatest records. He was writing up until his last moments with his unique brand of humor.”

Cohen’s manager Robert Kory wrote in another statement: “Unmatched in his creativity, insight and crippling candor, Leonard Cohen was a true visionary whose voice will be sorely missed. I was blessed to call him a friend, and for me to serve that bold artistic spirit firsthand, was a privilege and great gift. He leaves behind a legacy of work that will bring insight, inspiration and healing for generations to come.”

Leonard Cohen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.

“For six decades, Leonard Cohen revealed his soul to the world through poetry and song — his deep and timeless humanity touching our very core,” the RRHOF said in 2008. “Simply brilliant. His music and words will resonate forever.”
