Kimora Lee Simmons Says She’s Relaunching Baby Phat This Spring

Kimora Lee Simmons announced Friday (Mar. 8), which is International Women’s Day, that she has personally re-purchased her iconic Baby Phat brand from an undisclosed company and will relaunch the label sometime this year, hopefully by spring.

“We had to hunt around for it,” she told WWD. “[…] It’s perfect timing for this. Over the past several years, we realized the brand resonates with people and lives deep in their souls.”

Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner founded Baby Phat 20 years ago as a womenswear extension of the Phat Fashions imprint owned by her now ex-husband Russell Simmons.

Baby Phat was one of Phat Fashions’ most profitable brands in its heyday, earning more than a billion dollars in sales across a wide variety of product categories. The brand was worn by major celebrities and hosted elaborate fashion shows.

Baby Phat, along with the Phat Fashions companies, was sold to Kellwood Apparel in 2004, and a couple of years later, Leissner took on the role of brand president, a position she held until parting ways with the company in 2010.

Leissner told WWD that she plans to officially relaunch Baby Phat in the spring and says that it will be a “mainstream sportswear” collection for Millennials targeted to the mid-tier retail level.

Leissner said she plans to tap into her “amazing personal archive” as inspiration for the collection, resulting in a mix of retro and modern elements, as well as new looks, so fans should expect a hint of nostalgia—including the brand’s signature Baby Phat rhinestone T—along with “new messaging.”

“We’re working fast and furiously and have a lot up our sleeves,” she said.

Jussie Smollett Indicted on 16 Felony Counts by Chicago Grand Jury

A Chicago grand jury has hit Jussie Smollett with an additional 15 counts of filing a false police report.

The Empire actor was initially charged with one Class 4 Felony charge of disorderly conduct last month, but a grand jury applied that charge 15 more times in an 86-page indictment that was returned Thursday (Mar. 7).

Each new charge doesn’t pose any additional prison time but carries a maximum probation sentence of four years. Smollett now faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison or probation and a $25,000 fine.

Smollett claimed on January 29th that he was assaulted by two masked men who yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him. The 36-year-old actor, who is black and gay, also said his attackers poured a chemical substance he believed was bleach and also put a noose around his neck.

CWB Chicago reports that the grand jury’s indictment states that Smollett lied about the attack to two separate police officers—the beat cop who took his initial report and a detective who conducted a follow-up interview that same day.

According to CWB Chicago:

In one set of charges, the grand jury found that Smollet filed a false police report around 2 a.m. on Jan. 29th in which he told an officer that he was attacked near 341 East Lower North Water Street by two unknown men who were dressed in black and one of whom wore a ski mask.

The jury further found that Smollett told the original officer that the attackers called him racial and homophobic slurs and struck him in the face with their hands.

The police report connected to these charges also indicate that Smollett claimed that a noose had been placed around his neck and a “chemical” had been poured on him.

The second set of charges returned by the grand jury involves Smollett’s alleged false reporting of the incident to a police detective later the same day.

Additional details that Smollett apparently included in the second interview include: the men approached him from behind, Smollett fought back, and all three men fell to the ground where Smollett said he was kicked in the back and felt someone pulling on his neck.

During this interview, Smollett also told the officer that one offender was a white male wearing a black mask with an open area around the eyes that exposed the attacker’s skin, the grand jury found.

While announcing the initial charge against Smollett last month, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said his department believed that Smollett was also responsible for mailing a threat letter to himself that set the stage for the purported hate crime.

Nonetheless, no charges were brought against Smollett in connection with the letter by the grand jury.

The new charges against Smollett each carry a potential sentence of probation to four years if convicted.

Realistically, though, Smollett is unlikely to be convicted on more than a fraction of the charges. Most Cook County criminal cases are resolved through plea bargains in which a defendant pleads guilty to one and, rarely, two counts of an indictment in return for a favorable sentence.

Only by going to trial do most defendants run the real risk of being convicted of more than one or two counts.

Smollett is accused of hiring brothers Abel and Ola Osundairo to help him stage the attack.

The brothers told police the actor paid them $3,500 and promised them an additional $500 which they would get when they returned home from a trip to Nigeria. They said Smollett’s motive was that he wanted a higher salary on Empire.

Before he was arrested, the actor went on Good Morning America, where he cried and insisted he was telling the truth amid public cynicism.

Fox has said it’s “considering its options” in light of Smollett’s arrest. He won’t appear in the final two episodes of Empire that are scheduled to air later this year.

Smollett’s attorneys are due back in court next week.

The actor and his legal team have denied the allegations against him and say that he’s been the victim of police and prosecutorial misconduct.

Smollett’s lawyers said his presumption of innocence was “trampled” and the entire investigation into the attack has been flawed from the beginning.

R. Kelly Says He Only Has $350K in His Bank Account: “People Have Been Stealing My Money”

R. Kelly has made millions of dollars from his career as a singer, songwriter and producer, but you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at his bank account, which has dried up over the years.

In the second part of Sylvester the Molester’s interview with Gayle King on CBS This morning, the disgraced entertainer said he’s down to his last $350,000 in his bank account.

Kelly sat down with King for his first interview since his arrest last month for aggravated sexual abuse. He was tossed back in jail the same day the first of the multi-part interview aired after he failed to pay $161,663 in back child support to his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly.

Kelly explained to King why he couldn’t post his own bond, which was $100K (10% of $1M bail), when he was arrested in February and why he’s struggling to come up with the $161.6K child support, which the judge said had to be paid in full before he’s able to be released.

“So many people have been stealing my money. People [were] connected to my account,” Kelly told King.

Around three weeks ago, Kelly said he went by himself to a Bank of America branch for the first time to see where he stood financially with his own two eyes.

“I didn’t know what I was doing, didn’t know what the hell was going on,” he said, adding that he was “tired of not knowing where my money was, where my publishing is.”

Kelly said a bank teller told him he had $350,000 in his account, so he opened a new account and transferred the money into that account, but was told that it would take up to six or seven business days to complete the transfer.

Kelly claimed to not have access to those funds when he was arrested on February 22nd, the day after his trip to the bank.

“How can I pay child support? How? If my ex-wife is destroying my name and I can’t work. How can I work?” he wailed. “How can I get paid? How can I take care of my kids? How?”

Kelly said he never did any of the things claimed in the Lifetime docu-series “Surviving R. Kelly,” including hog-tying his ex-wife.

“I don’t know how to hogtie people,” he said with tears in his eyes. “Why would I hogtie her? My kids [are] listening to this nonsense …  and I ain’t spending no time with them.”

He continued, weeping: “What kind of woman would tear down a dad who’s trying to have a relationship with their kids? You know how many kids need a relationship with their father?”

WATCH: Video Shows People Fighting Over Crab Legs at Chinese Buffet in Queens

People are really out here showing their a-s-ses over crab legs.

A massive brawl broke out over crab legs a Chinese buffet in Queens, New York last month, and the whole thing was captured on video.

Video footage of the altercation shows several people pushing and hitting each other after the buffet’s most popular food item is brought out from the kitchen.

One of the people involved in the February 23rd incident told the New York Post that things got heated after another woman in the buffet line pushed her 10-year-old son with her hip.

“I was like, ‘Can you please do me a favor? I would appreciate it if you kept your hands off my child.’ And the mother comes over and she was like ‘You already had the first two batches,'” a 39-year-old woman who only identified herself as ‘Christine’ told the Post.

“I said ‘Listen, he’s 10-years-old, he’s going to grab maybe six or seven and we’re leaving. We’re gonna keep it moving.’ And she turns around and she goes ‘Privileged white bitch’ and that’s when everybody came over and started screaming,” added Christine, who is white.

Donna Brown, a customer at the restaurant not involved in the brawl, recorded the incident via Facebook Live.

“Listen y’all, I had to come out here to let y’all see this. I’m in a buffet and they are fighting over crab legs!” Brown says in the clip.

https://www.facebook.com/donnabrowneny/videos/10212715779560603/

The 10-minute video shows a group of people shouting before a huge fight breaks out near the buffet.

“Craziness,” Brown says as the brawl goes on. “They throwing glass around. This is getting real now.”

Brown continues: “My people are so ignorant over food. Over food. Crab legs, yo. You can’t make this up. You can’t make this up at all… I can’t believe it.”

Christine told the Post that she left the restaurant with a bleeding neck, bruises all over her body, and a bald spot from someone ripping her hair out.

The restaurant’s manager, Budi Chan, said that the fight involved two groups—a party of 16 people and another party of seven whom he said were regulars. “They had kids. Both [groups] were families,” Chan told the Post.

“It was out of control because at that time it was full so we were busy with customers, ” said Chan. “I know they started shouting, yelling so I just told them ‘Calm down, calm down.'”

Chan, who called 911, added: “They were hitting each other and I saw they pulled the hair.”

Chan said the fight was over by the time police arrived, and the customers involved had already left the premises. No arrests were made, but police are looking for a group of 10 people who started the fight.

The manager said this isn’t the first crab leg-related altercation he’s witnessed in his restaurant.

“Mostly the customers argue with the crab legs because when the crab legs come out people just rush and take them,” he said. “If we have a few guests when they come out, after maybe one or two minutes [the crab legs are] gone.”

Interestingly enough, the day before the brawl at the Queens buffet, reports emerged from Alabama that a fight broke out at a Huntsville restaurant between customers over crab legs.

Officer Gerald Johnson was simply trying to enjoy a nice Friday evening out when his dinner at the Meteor Buffet was interrupted. “Literally, as I sat down and maybe took two bites out of my plate,” Johnson said that’s when the fight started.

“There’s a woman who’s beating a man,” Johnson told WHNT News 19. “People are moving around, plates are shattering everywhere.”

As the officer moved in the break up the melee, he watched as two diners, an elderly man and an adult woman, started fencing each other with metal tongs.

“It’s not something you typically hear, if you can imagine a fencing match,” Johnson said.

In that incident, police arrested 71-year-old John Chapman and 39-year-old Chequita Jenkins, who was eating at the buffet with her kids. According to News 19, Chapman was charged with disorderly conduct and Jenkins was hit with a third-degree assault charge.

“They’d been waiting there for the crab legs for a good 10, 20 minutes. When they finally came out, it’s very heated. Especially if someone is taking more than their fair share,” he told the news station. “Everyone was saying, ‘They cut me in line. She cut me in line. He cut me in line. I was here first.'”

Crab legs are good, don’t get me wrong … but is it really that serious?

Grandma Goes Missing With 16-Month-Old Grandson, Takes Him With Her to Buy & Use Crack Cocaine

Police in Greenville, South Carolina said that a grandmother who was believed to have gone missing with her 16-month-old grandson was arrested after they found out she took the baby with her to buy and use crack cocaine.

According to Fox Carolina News, 61-year-old Cathy Diane Brown and her one-year-old grandson, Genesis Shell, had been last seen the morning of Monday, February 25th when Genesis’ mother dropped him off. When the mother returned, Brown and Shell were gone, but Shell’s baby bottles, car seat and diaper bag were still at the home.

After the mother called the police, an investigation was launched, and later that night, Greenville police announced via Facebook that the grandmother and her grandson had been safely located.

Brown was arrested and charged with child neglect by a legal custodian. Genesis was returned to his mother and DSS was notified.

While Brown doesn’t own her own vehicle, according to her arrest warrant, she left with the baby in someone else’s car and drove the 16-month-old child from place to place without a car seat while she obtained and used crack cocaine.

I think it’s safe to say Ms. Cathy Brown won’t be watching her grandson alone anytime soon, at least not until she cleans up her act.

The Feds Watching: Man Who Went Viral For Buying $540 Worth of Girl Scout Cookies Arrested in Federal Drug Bust

A man whose random act of kindness went viral has been arrested in a federal drug bust.

Detric McGowan went viral on social media last month after he bought $540 worth of Girl Scout Cookies from two girls so that they wouldn’t have to stand in the cold outside a grocery store in Greenville, South Carolina.

A photo of McGowan posing with the two girls was shared on Facebook thousands of times, and the story gained a ton of mainstream media attention.

“This man purchased seven packs of cookies. Gave the girls $40, told them to keep the change,” the Facebook post read. “Then he came back to the table and said, ‘Pack up all of your cookies. I’m taking them all so y’all can get out of this cold’ … $540 he spent on cookies. What an amazing soul!!!!”

The purchase happened on Friday, February 22nd, and the feds were obviously watching because the following Tuesday (Feb. 26), McGowan was arrested by DEA agents on several charges, including conspiracy to manufacture and distribute heroin, cocaine and fentanyl.

More via CNN:

The 21-page indictment also says McGowan and 10 others conspired to import the drugs from Mexico into the United States. Authorities said they were found with more than $1 million in cash.

Although McGowan’s lawyer, Janis Hall, didn’t comment on the case, she did tell CNN she believes he’s a good-hearted person.

The DEA official said the viral photo from this weekend had nothing to do with the agency’s federal drug charges stemming from a grand jury begun in 2018.

The Girl Scouts said it was saddened to learn of “the unfortunate turn of events in South Carolina.” It’s not clear if the Girl Scouts will have to return the money they received. CNN has reached out to them to ask but has not heard back.

“We want to assure the public that all of our girls are currently safe, that all proper safety protocols were followed during the sale, and that at no time were any of our girls or volunteers threatened,” the organization said in a statement.

“The troop had no way of knowing who they were dealing with, and every reason to assume a good Samaritan wanted to help power amazing Girl Scout experiences through the Girl Scout Cookie Program.”

McGowan is one of 11 defendants in the case and was arrested at his home in a rural part of Laurens County, South Carolina. US Marshals seized cash and other assets at the time of his arrest.

According to the indictment, McGowan was charged with eight drug-related counts, including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, conspiracy to import controlled substances and possession with intent to distribute and distribution of heroin.

We don’t know if we’re buying that whole “the viral photo had nothing to do with his arrest” story from the DEA. The timing was just way too good.

Texas Death Row Inmate’s Son & Grandson Arrested After Attacking Officers During Execution

The outside of a Texas death chamber became a scene of chaos when the son of an inmate on death row pounded on chamber’s window, shouted obscenities and threw fists after his father said his last words.

70-year-old Billie Wayne Coble’s son and grandson reportedly swung and kicked at other people in the death chamber’s witness area, and continued to resist and act out even after officers stepped in.

The two men were eventually dragged out of the room by guards and were arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

According to AP:

Billie Wayne Coble, a Vietnam War veteran who killed his estranged wife’s parents and brother and threatened to do the same to her in 1989, told five witnesses that he selected to attend his Thursday night execution that he loved them. Coble then nodded as they watched from a witness room, saying: “Take care.”

When he finished speaking, his son, grandson and daughter-in-law became emotional, and the men swung and kicked at others in the death chamber witness area. Officers stepped in but said the men continued to resist and were eventually moved to a courtyard, where both were handcuffed and arrested.

“Why are you doing this?” the woman asked. “They just killed his daddy.”

As the men were being subdued outside, a single dose of pentobarbital was injected into Coble. He gasped several times and began snoring as the lethal dose of drug was being administered inside the death chamber at the state penitentiary in Huntsville.

He was pronounced dead 11 minutes later, at 6:24 p.m. His son and grandson, later identified as Gordon Wayne Coble, 45, and Dalton Coble, 21, were arrested on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Both have been released on $1,000 bond each.

The 70-year-old Billie Wayne Coble was the oldest inmate executed by Texas since the state resumed carrying out capital punishment in 1982.

He was convicted nearly three decades ago for the August 1989 shooting deaths of Robert and Zelda Vicha, and their son, Bobby Vicha. The victims were killed at separate homes in Axtell, northeast of Waco. A prosecutor once described Coble as having “a heart full of scorpions.”

Coble, distraught over his pending divorce, kidnapped his wife, Karen Vicha. He was arrested and later freed on bond. Nine days after the kidnapping, Coble went to her home, where he handcuffed and tied up her three daughters and nephew, J.R. Vicha, according to investigators.

Coble then went to the homes of Robert and Zelda Vicha, 64 and 60 respectively, and Bobby Vicha, 39, who lived nearby, and fatally shot them.

After Karen Vicha returned home, Coble abducted her. He drove away, assaulted her and threatened to rape and kill her. He was arrested after wrecking the vehicle in neighboring Bosque County following a police chase.

Coble was convicted of capital murder in 1990. An appeals court ordered a new trial on punishment in 2007, but a second jury also sentenced him to death. Other appeals were also denied.

J.R. Vicha, Bobby Vicha’s son, was 11 when he was tied up and threatened by Coble during the killings. Coble’s execution would be a relief knowing the execution finally took place, said Vicha, who eventually became a prosecutor in part because of his father.

“Still, the way they do it is more humane than what he did to my family. It’s not what he deserves, but it will be good to know we got as much justice as allowed by the law,” he said ahead of the execution.

“This is not a happy night,” added McLennan County District Attorney Barry Johnson. “This is the end of a horror story for the Vicha family.”

Coble was the third inmate put to death this year in the U.S. and the second in Texas, the nation’s busiest capital punishment state.

A sad situation all around.

Jaden Smith’s JUST Water Company Brings More Clean Water to Flint

Jaden Smith is helping residents of Flint, Michigan obtain clean water through a new initiative.

The rapper/actor’s eco-friendly company JUST Water announced this week that will have partnered up with a local Flint church to deploy a mobile filtration system called “The Water Box,” which filters out lead and other contaminants in water.

ABC 7 Detroit reports:

Flint’s water crisis began in April 2014 after the city’s water source was switched from the Detroit River to the Flint River, which resulted in city-wide lead contamination of public drinking water. First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Flint has been on the front line of the battle to restore drinkable water in the city. The church has also given out over 5 million bottles of water to local residents.

In 2018, the free bottled water program set up by the state was ended under former Gov. Rick Snyder. However, a recent announcement by newly appointed Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer states that the program will be reinstated. Bottle donations for the city have declined and accessing clean water continues to be an issue, which is why JUST Water stepped in to assist, according to a release.

“This has been one of the most rewarding and educational experiences for me personally,” Smith said. “Working together with people in the community experiencing the problems and design(ing) something to help them has been a journey I will never forget. We are planning to deploy more water boxes in Flint and other communities facing similar challenges.”

The Water Box will produce up to 10 gallons of clean drinking water per minute. The water is tested each day with use, as well as every few weeks by an independent and certified laboratory.

Residents will be able to fill any container of their choice with the clean water. The filtration device will be available through the church with set distribution times.

“We are committed to serving the community in which we worship in,” said Ezra Tillman, pastor of First Trinity Baptist church.

Wow, this is most definitely a good look for Jaden!

Oprah Winfrey Applauds Gayle King for Keeping Her Composure During R. Kelly Interview

Immediately after Gayle King’s highly publicized interview with R. Kelly on CBS This Morning aired Wednesday (Mar. 6), Oprah Winfrey tweeted about how proud she was of her bestie for how she handled R. Kelly’s stunt queen antics.

Kelly sat down with King for his first interview since his arrest late last month for 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse including three minors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07yZF2lM1y0?start=322

At one point during their discussion, during one particularly angry outburst, Kelly leaped out of his chair, screaming and yelling as he stood over King, who was unmoved and unbothered by Kelly’s tomfoolery.

Oprah applauded Gail for her poise and remaining calm and focus in spite of Sylvester the Molester’s craziness.

“Bravo @GayleKing for calm and steady focus during #RKelly interview. Outstanding job!” she tweeted. “Tell @CBSThisMorning we want to see the whole thing.”

There’s nothing like getting public recognition from your world-famous BFF, right?

By the way, we will, in fact, get to “see the whole thing” because the full interview will air as a primetime special tonight at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Teacher Allegedly Had Sex With 13-Year-Old Student While His Friend Watched

A former Arizona teacher who was arrested last year for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student had sex with the teen while another student was in the classroom, police said.

According to the Arizona Republic, 28-year-old Brittany Zamora’s illicit relationship with her 13-year-old student began with a message on a school app.

Zamora asked her sixth-grade students at Las Brisas Academy in Goodyear, Arizona to message her on an online instruction app called Class Craft, but police said a message from one male student turned into flirting and then evolved in a full-out sexual relationship between the then-27-year-old and her barely teenage student.

On one occasion, Zamora and her 13-year-old lover fondled each other in her classroom while other students, unaware of what was going on, watched a video.

The boy told police that there were also times when Zamora would grope him at her desk while pretending like she was looking for something in a drawer while other students worked on a project mere feet away.

In class, the teacher and the teen would pass love notes to each other (see below), including one that read “U R SEXY!” Another note, seen in photos released by the Goodyear Police Department, said “Stop turning me on [baby]!”

The boy also told police that he and Zamora exchanged nude photos and they frequently talked about what they wanted to do to each other.

“She said she wanted to give me a blow job and my stuff is really big and stuff like that,” the pupil said in a police interview. When the interviewer asked him to clarify what he meant by “stuff,” he whispered “penis.”

The boy said this went on for weeks until one night, when he was staying at his grandparents’ house, the teacher messaged him while her husband was out fishing and asked “if she could come over to show how much she loved him,” the Arizona Republic reported.

The teen told police he sneaked out of the house after midnight to meet Zamora in her red Mazda, which she had parked at the other end of the street, and the two kissed and performed oral sex on each other before Zamora’s husband called saying he was on his way home.

Zamora returned the very next night, and the boy said they had sex briefly before her husband called and she left. She told the teen not to tell anyone, but he confided in a classmate anyway.

One day, the two boys were supposed to stay after school to help prepare for an upcoming talent show, but instead, Zamora kept the boys in the room and started kissing the victim, the friend told police.

The Las Brisas Academy Elementary classroom where Zamora and the student had sex

The friend said Zamora asked him to stay and play lookout to “make sure no one saw as they had sex in the classroom,” according to the Arizona Republic. “They were just doing it,” the friend told police. “It was very uncomfortable.”

The friend told police that the next day, Zamora and the boy asked him to keep watch, but he refused and left. The friend said the victim told him that he and Zamora had sex again.

“It’s, like, weird how a 27-year-old can, like, love a 13-year-old and do stuff,” the friend said to police. “It’s just crazy. She’s not a good person.”

The friend said Zamora never attempted to sexually assault him, but he did tell police that Zamora asked him if he was circumcised one time, and she showed him pictures on her phone when he didn’t understand what she meant. “The conversation stopped because it was time for recess,” the Arizona Republic reported.

The boy eventually confessed to his parents that he and his teacher were having sex, and Zamora was arrested in March 2018 on suspicion of sexual misconduct with the student.

Zamora later pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including molesting a child and sexual contact with a minor, and she’s currently being held in a Maricopa County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

The teenager’s parents have filed a civil suit against the school district, Zamora, and her husband for $2.5 million.

Former “RHOA” Star Kenya Moore Says a Restaurant Kicked Her Out for Changing Her Baby’s Diaper at a Table

Kenya Moore became a first-time mom last November at the age of 47, and she recently learned the hard way that you can’t just change your newborn’s diaper anywhere you please.

Moore, who celebrated her 48th birthday back in January, posted on Instagram that she was asked to leave a restaurant after someone spotted her changing her daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly’s diaper while dining.

Last Thursday (Feb. 28), along with an adorable photo of herself and Baby Brooklyn, Moore shared the story of being booted from a restaurant on Instagram:

“Last week when I was traveling with Brooklyn, I got kicked out of a restaurant for changing her diaper! OMG, I was so embarrassed. I had no idea about these rules! As a new mama, I’m learning new things every day…”

Several of her fans who are moms chimed in on her post, and while many empathized with her etiquette error, a large number felt that she displayed poor judgment in this instance.

One fan wrote: “I am a mother of 4 and [grandma] to 1 and I would not change my baby in [the] middle of [a] restaurant where others are eating. Saying that is just like breastfeeding is taking it [too] far… Most restaurants are equipped with changing tables in restrooms where that business should be handled.”

Another commented: “Are you f**king serious…you don’t know not to have sh*t near where you eat?!?! I love you Kenya but that’s f**kin nasty!!! You need to wash your hands after changing a diaper too!!!”

One other follower, who said she’s a mom of two, pointed out that restaurants provide changing tables in bathrooms for this very reason, to which Kenya responded: “It was empty around me and no restrooms in the airport restaurant. Thanks for your input learning every day.”

Beyoncé Won’t Be Doing Any Interviews Anytime Soon, According to Her Publicist

When you’re a superstar as big as Beyoncé, everyone wants to score an interview with you. But according to her publicist, that won’t be happening anytime soon.

Beyoncé has only done a small handful of interviews in recent years, and if you’ll recall, back in 2015, she became the first-ever Vogue cover subject to skip a sit-down interview altogether.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, Bey’s longtime publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, shared details about Queen Bey when it comes to interviews.

Yvette Noel-Schure (right) with Destiny’s Child at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards.

Noel-Schure’s relationship with Beyoncé goes back to the days when she was the lead singer of Destiny’s Child when people would ask to interview specific group members by themselves.

“People started saying, ‘Do you think I can just do an interview with Beyoncé? Just Kelly?’ No, it’s a group,” Noel-Schure remembers.

Noel-Schure, a former journalist herself, says she understands the importance of having a formal sit-down with such a major icon such as Beyoncé, however, now that she’s a publicist, her views have changed.

“I don’t know that any artist owes someone a sit-down interview, honestly, now,” she said. “Politicians, yes … I feel like what artists owe their audiences is a really good performance.”

And although we may not get an actual interview from Beyoncé, Noel-Schure assures that fans get more than enough from her music.

“I think people have to respect an artist who often does a lot of talking with the content, with the music. Some people actually say a little bit too much. The music, the content that we consume, doesn’t live up to all the controversy that you create,” she said.

“I think I sort of like what my client does, and that she has leveled the playing field so fans, as well as critics, get it at the same time.”

Forbes: Kylie Jenner is the World’s “Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Ever”

At 21 years old, Kylie Jenner is “the youngest self-made billionaire EVER,” according to Forbes magazine.

Last July, Forbes revealed that Jenner built a $900 million fortune in less than three years. It was projected at the time that she would soon reach billionaire status, thanks to her wildly successful Kylie Cosmetics company.

Now that the brand has expanded and is now being offered in Ulta beauty stores across the country, the youngest Karjenner sibling has officially hit that major milestone and is considered to be the world’s youngest “self-made” billionaire.

From Forbes:

In mid-November, Kylie Jenner marked a milestone moment with a visit to a strip mall. For the past three years, her Kylie Cosmetics had only sold its makeup online and briefly in pop up shops.

But after signing an exclusive distribution deal with Ulta, the beauty retailer, Kylie Cosmetics was rolling its $29 lip kits—a matte liquid lipstick and matching lip liner—into Ulta’s 1,000-plus stores. And Jenner showed up to the Richmond Avenue Ulta in Houston to greet customers, sign autographs on lip kits and, of course, pose for selfies with her fans.

Over the next six weeks, Kylie Cosmetics sold $54.5 million worth of products in Ulta, according to estimates from Oppenheimer. “I popped up at a few stores, I did my usual social media—I did what I usually do, and it just worked,” she says.

Fueled in part by the Ulta expansion, Kylie Cosmetics’ revenue climbed 9% last year to an estimated $360 million. With that kind of growth, and even using a conservative multiple from the booming makeup industry, Forbes estimates Jenner’s company is worth at least $900 million. She owns all of it.

Add in the cash Jenner has already pulled from the profitable business, and the 21-year-old is now a billionaire, with an estimated fortune of $1 billion. She’s the youngest-ever self-made billionaire, reaching a ten-figure fortune at a younger age than even Mark Zuckerberg (who was 23 when he hit that mark).

“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” says Jenner, who is the youngest billionaire in the world. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”

The beauty of Kylie Cosmetics, which Jenner started in 2015, is its minuscule overhead—and the outsize profits that go straight into Jenner’s pocket. Her empire consists of just seven full-time and five part-time employees.

Manufacturing and packaging is outsourced to Seed Beauty, a private-label producer in nearby Oxnard, California. Sales and fulfillment are handled by online merchant Shopify. Her shrewd mother, Kris, takes care of finance and PR in exchange for the 10% management fee she siphons from all of her kids.

Marketing is done mostly through social media, where Jenner has a massive following. She announces product launches, previews new items and announces the Kylie Cosmetics shades she’s wearing directly to the 175 million-plus who follow her across Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

“It’s the power of social media,” Jenner says. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”

When Kylie Cosmetics launched in Ulta in 50 states, the reaction was a real-life version of the online rush Jenner created years earlier, when her initial kits sold out online in less than a minute. Ulta shoppers went wild. In some stores inventory was gone in hours. “It sold out faster than we planned,” admits Tara Simon, Ulta’s senior vice president of merchandising.

Ulta and Jenner are a sensible pairing. With Ulta’s mix of pricier prestige brands, like MAC Cosmetics, and cheaper selections, such as Nyx Professional Makeup, it has a larger footprint than that of its closest competitor, the more expensive Sephora.

Analysts say Kylie Cosmetics is drawing younger customers through Ulta’s doors—teens who might not have a credit card to shop online. Plus, selling in physical stores gives Jenner a chance to reach “people that would never buy my products online,” she says. The ones who want to “see, touch and feel before they buy.”

Ulta provides access to a wide swath of America—more than just kids on the coasts—with stores across middle America. (It also has 714 more standalone stores than Sephora.)

Ulta, meanwhile, gets a brand that requires no marketing push. So far, the retailer hasn’t spent a dime on traditional marketing to launch the brand in stores, which is “unheard of,” Simon says: “”[Jenner’s] ability to communicate with well over 120 million people in a snap has a lot of power.”

Impressive.

Now, most people scoff at the idea that Kylie Jenner would be considered “self-made” since she comes from a family that is known for their wealth.

But, according to Kylie, she’s been on her own financially since she was a teenager, so Forbes isn’t wrong to consider her self-made.

In a cover story for the February 2019 issue of Paper Magazine, Kylie said “the self-made thing is true” because her parents “cut [her] off at the age of 15” and told her to start fending for herself financially.

“My parents told me I needed to make my own money, it’s time to learn how to save and spend your own money, stuff like that,” she said. Though Kylie recognized she has a huge platform, “none of my money is inherited,” she added.

Still, some would argue that Kylie, who makes a sizable income from paid appearances and being a part of the longest running reality TV series ever, her family’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians show, was practically set up for success.

But even with that, reaching billionaire status is still a big deal for Kylie, considering no one else in her family has a net worth even close to that.

The next richest person in the Karjenner Klan is, of course, Kim Kardashian, who brought her family to the forefront and is basically the reason why any of them makes the money they make, is only worth $350 million, less than half of Kylie’s net worth.

Kylie’s dad, Caitlyn Jenner, is next with $100 million, and her mom/manager, Kris Jenner, has a net worth of around $90 million. Kylie’s brother Rob has the lowest net worth of the bunch with around $10 million.

So, it’s safe to say if anyone in the Kardashian-Jenner family ever runs into money issues, it’s pretty clear who they’ll be calling for a loan.

Kellen Winslow Jr. Arrested (AGAIN!) After Allegedly Touching Himself in Front of 77-Year-Old Woman

Former NFL player Kellen Winslow Jr. was already out on bail on rape and sex crime charges when he was arrested AGAIN earlier this week after he was accused of touching himself in front of a 77-year-old woman.

If you’ll remember, last June, the 35-year-old was arrested TWICE over a seven-day period after he was alleged to have raped two women, exposed himself to a third and entered the homes of two additional women with the intention of raping them.

PREVIOUSLY: Kellen Winslow Jr. Arrested on Rape & Kidnapping Charges, Faces Life in Prison

He was hit with a whopping NINE criminal charges, including kidnapping with intent to commit rape, forcible rape, forcible sodomy, burglary, indecent exposure and more.

Winslow—who faces life in prison if convicted of the aforementioned charges—posted a $2 million bail in July, however, officials now say that he violated the terms of his freedom, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Monday (Mar. 4).

According to the newspaper, Winslow Jr. was working out a San Diego area gym on February 13th when he started touching himself in front of an elderly woman and asking her if she liked it.

The following week, on February 22nd (just nine days later), prosecutors said the woman was in a hot tub at the same gym when Winslow allegedly got in wearing only a towel and engaged in lewd conduct once again.

The woman said she got out of the tub to report the incident, and as she tried to leave, Winslow reached out and touched her arm and foot.

On Thursday, February 28th, Winslow was charged with two counts of lewd conduct, and one count each of battery of an elder and willful cruelty to an older, all misdemeanors.

The judge over Winslow’s case revoked his bail Monday and sent him to jail.

Kellen Winslow Jr.—who is the son of Chargers Hall of Famer Kellen Winslow—played 10 seasons in the NFL with five different teams between the years of 2004 and 2013, earning more than $30 million.

After leaving the NFL, Winslow Jr. has dealt with a number of legal issues, including a 2013 arrest after he was allegedly caught masturbating in a Target parking lot and cops said they found vaseline and synthetic marijuana in his car.

Winslow denied the masturbation allegations (he said he was changing his clothes), but he charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance. He later struck a plea deal and got the drug charge dropped.

Now, with this latest incident, he’s added more “lewd conduct” charges to his criminal record, which is most certainly not going to help his case.

Watch Traci Braxton Confront Birdman in the “Braxton Family Values” Season 6 (Part 2) Trailer

The Braxtons are back!

If you’ll remember, at the beginning of Braxton Family Values Season 6, there was a lot of drama surrounding the show as the Braxtons—with the exception of Traci—refused to film because they were felt they were being underpaid.

We don’t know if they’ve resolved their financial issues with production, but it looks like the whole family is back like they never left.

The minute-and-a-half trailer shows us a quick preview of some of what to expect in the remainder of Season 6, including the Braxtons celebrating Tamar’s historic Big Brother win, Toni telling Tamar it’s a “problem” that she and Vince haven’t finalized their divorce, and of course, Toni’s own relationship issues with her (ex?) fiancé Birdman.

At one point in the clip, the Cash Money founder asks Traci why they never “vibed” like the rest of Toni’s sisters, to which she responds, “I’m very protective of my sisters.” She later confronts him face-to-face. “I’ma keep coming for you, ’cause I’m gonna make sure that she’s OK!”

Yikes.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Trina gets heartbreaking news about her ex-husband Gabe, who was diagnosed with cancer and recently passed away, and Mama Braxton wants to know “what happened, for God’s sake?” with Toni’s relationship with Birdman.

Braxton Family Values returns to WeTV on April 4th at 9/8c. Take a look at the trailer up top!

YNW Melly Pleads Not Guilty in Double Murder of His Two Friends

YNW Melly, the aspiring rapper who was arrested in February under suspicion of murdering his two friends last fall and staging it as a drive-by shooting, pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.

The 19-year-old “Murder on My Mind” rapper, whose real name is Jamell Demons, was arraigned Wednesday (Mar. 5), which is when he entered his not guilty plea.

Another one of Demons’ friends, 20-year-old Cortlen Henry (aka YNW Bortlen) was also charged for the October 26th murders of 21-year-old Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and 19-year-old Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr.

Both Williams and Thomas Jr. were suffering from severe gunshots wounds when they were driven to the Miramar Memorial Hospital by Henry around 4:35 a.m. on October 26th. Williams and Thomas Jr. were pronounced dead upon arrival, the Sun Sentinel reported.

“They arrived with multiple gunshot wounds. They were dead already,” Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues said at the time.

In disturbing new details released last week, Melly and Bortlen drove around with their friends’ dead bodies “for a period of time” in his car while they came up with a story to tell police.

Henry (Bortlen) told police that he and his two friends (Juvy and Sakchaser) had just finished a late note studio session, and as he was pulling off the freeway, a car pulled up and opened fire.

Police confirmed there were 8 bullet holes on the right side of the vehicle, where Thomas (Juvy) and Williams (Sakchaser) were sitting. Thomas and Williams were both shot in the head, torso and back, and investigators said blood was splattered all over the car.

Police eventually discovered forensic evidence that contradicted Cortlen and Melly’s story about the drive-by shooting, including a shell casing found inside the vehicle along with eight matching shell casings in a different location, where cops believe Demons and Henry shot up the car to make it look like a drive-by.

According to police, the initial shot was fired from inside the vehicle—not outside, as Henry claimed—and came from the left rear passenger side of the car, which is where Demons was sitting, and that’s why they believe he was the trigger man.

Police haven’t provided a motive or say what prompted the shooting.

Demons knew the victims since childhood, and days after the shooting, his lawyer described the guys as “best friends.”

Officials said Demons, Henry and Thomas shared a two-story house in Miramar, Florida, a few miles from where police believe the shooting took place. Williams was living in Fort Lauderdale.

Demons and Henry are both scheduled to appear before a judge for a formal arraignment later this month.

R. Kelly’s Mugshot Released After Arrest for Unpaid Child Support, Singer Must Pay $161,663 to Get Out of Jail

Robert Sylvester Kelly posed for a brand new mugshot Wednesday (Mar. 6) after he was arrested for unpaid child support. This makes his second mugshot in two weeks.

R. Kelly—who is currently fighting off well-publicized charges of sexual abuse—owes his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, $161,663 in back child support.

Sylvester the Molester could be charged with a crime for his failure to pay child support because in the state of Illinois, any amount over $20K is considered a felony, and Kelly is well over that limit.

R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, told TMZ: “In 30 years of practicing criminal defense law, I have never seen anyone prosecuted for non-payment of child support. Maybe it happens, but I’ve never seen it done in Illinois.”

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office said that the embattled singer must pay the amount in full before he can be released from jail.

Kelly’s next court date is a week from today—next Wednesday (Mar. 13).

I Believe I Can Cry: The Most Cringeworthy Moments From R. Kelly’s CBS Interview With Gayle King (Part One)

The first of R. Kelly’s “explosive” two-part interview with Gayle King aired on CBS This Morning Wednesday (Mar. 6), and it was just as bizarre as we all expected it to be.

Kelly’s interview with King was his first since his arrest in late February.

The disgraced R&B singer—who is facing 10 counts of criminal aggravated sexual abuse involving minors—vehemently denied ALL of the allegations against him, and said that EVERYONE is lying on him as he proclaimed his innocence throughout the interview, which was broken up into two parts, the second of which will air Thursday (Mar. 7).

Now, you might be wondering to yourself, why on earth would someone go on national television at a time like this? Well, according to Sylvester the Molester, he’s “tired of all the lies.”

“I’ve been hearing things, and you know, and seeing things on the blogs, and you know, you know, I’m just tired,” he said.

Below are some of the most cringeworthy moments and quotes from part 1 of R. Kelly’s sit-down with Gayle King.

1When he basically called the people participated in the “Surviving R. Kelly” Lifetime documentary a bunch of liars.

“They are lying on me… If you really look at that documentary, which I’m sure you have, everybody says something bad about me.

“Nobody said nothin’ good. They was describing Lucifer. I’m not Lucifer. I’m a man. I make mistakes, but I’m not a devil, and by no means am I a monster.”

2When he explained “the power of social media” and how easy it is someone to lie on him.

“You can start a rumor on a guy like me or a celebrity just like that. All you have to do is push a button on your phone and say, ‘So and so did this to me, R. Kelly did this to me.’

“And if you get any traction from that, if you’re able to write a book from that, if you’re able to get a reality show… then any girl that I had a relationship in the past that it just didn’t work out, she can come and say the same exact thing.

“I have been assassinated. I have been buried alive. But I’m alive.”

3When he talked about allegations that he’s held women against their will and how stupid it would be for him to do that.

“I don’t need to. Why would I? How stupid would it be for R. Kelly, with all I’ve been through in my way way past, to hold somebody, let alone 4, 5, 6, 50, you said — why — how stupid would I be to do that?!”

4When he turned to the camera and started screaming for people to “use your common sense.”

“That’s stupid, guys! Is this camera on me?!?

“That’s stupid! Use your common sense! Forget the blogs, forget how you feel about me. Hate me if you want to, love me if you want. But just use your common sense.

“How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I’ve been through – oh, right now I just think I need to be a monster, and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement, and don’t let them eat, and don’t let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle!”

5When he snapped on camera and jumped up, shouting with eyes full of pedo tears.

“Stop it. Y’all quit playing! Quit playing! I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me! I’m fighting for my f***ing life! Y’all killing me with this sh*t!

“I gave y’all 30 years of my f***ing career! 30 years of my career! And y’all trying to kill me?!? You’re killing me, man! This is not about music!

“I’m trying to have a relationship with my kids! And I can’t do it! Y’all just don’t want to believe the truth! You don’t want to believe it!”

6When production briefly paused filming so that R. Kelly’s team could help him calm down.

“I hope this camera keep going… This is not true! That doesn’t even make sense! Why would I hold all these women? Their mothers and fasters told me, we’re going to destroy your career!”

7When he pleaded for people to focus on the “real girls out there missing.”

“It’s real girls out there missing! It’s real young girls out there being abducted, being raped, OK? They really are on chains. They really do have chains on their wrists and they can’t get out and they end up buried and dead. This is not me.”

8When Gayle King had to take control and tell “Robert” that she wants to have a conversation with him and not have him “just ranting at the camera.”

“I came here for them to hear me talk. I need help! This is the kind of help I need. I need somebody to help me not have a big heart, because my heart is so big. People betray me, and I keep forgiving ’em!

9When Gayle told R. Kelly to his face that he was clearly playing the victim card.

“I’m just telling the truth. I’m just telling the truth and the reason I’m emotional – and I apologize for that — is because this is the first time I was able to say something. I’ve said nothing!”

10When he talked about his “girlfriends,” 23-year-old Joycelyn Savage and 21-year-old Azriel Clary.

“I love ’em and it’s almost … it’s like they’re my girlfriends. It’s like, you know, we have a relationship. It’s real. And I know guys—like, I’ve known guys all my life to have five or six women, OK? So don’t go there on me, OK? ‘Cause that’s the truth.”

11When the 52-year-old talked about his affinity for younger women.

“I don’t look at ‘much younger than me.’ I just look at ‘legal.’ I just look at ‘you’re you, I’m me.”

He said to Gayle: “Now, I don’t know if you’re married. I don’t know. I don’t know if you have a relationship. I don’t know what you … you know, I don’t know. But one might be older than the other. One might be younger than the other, OK?

“So I just look at ‘legal,’ OK? People. There are older men that like younger women. There are younger women that like older men. I’m a older man that love ALL women.”

12When he talked about meeting Joycelyn Savage through her father.

“I didn’t go looking for a Joycelyn Savage. I was doing my show. He brought her and asked a friend of mine to put her on the stage with R. Kelly … make sure she’s on the stage.”

13When he said Joycelyn & Azriel’s parents sold them to him.

“What kind of father, what kind of mother, will sell their daughter to a man? How come it was OK for me to see them until they wasn’t getting no money from it?

“Why would you take your daughter – if I’m going to take my daughter and she’s 19 years old to a 49-year-old icon, whatever, celebrity or R. Kelly concert, or whoever it is, I’m not going to put her on the stage and leave her. I’m going to take her to the concert. Their father is more into my music and know about my music than they do.”

14When he talked about wanting to have a relationship with his kids.

“I’m not fighting for my career here. I’m fighting for my rights, and I’m fighting to have a relationship with my kids more than anything. I was a relationship with my kids because I’ve missed a lot of years of their lives. They love me, I love them.

“I bet you they [want a relationship with me]. I’d bet my breath on it. But they’re pressured, and I get it, but I think that’s going to change in due time.”

15When Gayle asked him how if he would feel if someone did to his daughters what he’s accused of doing to other people’s daughters.

“Let me tell you something, I’d be up in that mother… f**k everything up. I had to bleep myself, but I would be f**king everything up. I would have to arrest myself after I did what I had to do.”

16When he was asked if being sexually abused as a child affected him.

R. Kelly: “It hasn’t affected me at all.”

Gayle King: “Robert…”

Kelly: “It has affected me in a way though, yeah. It affected me in this way. Anything that I’ve been through, [the sexual abuse], any struggles I’ve had in my past has affected my music.”

King: “Has it affected your behavior?”

Kelly: “Absolutely not. Because I’m gonna tell you something. I know people thing, ‘Oh, he was abused, that’s why he doing that. No no no no no.”

17When he became increasingly arrogant and condescendingly challenged mental health experts’ theory that most people who are abusers have been abused, but not all people that have been abused go out and abuse others.

“That’s what the experts say? But they didn’t say all, did they? Alright. Here I stand. I’m in the ‘not all,’ OK?

“But they also didn’t say when you’re R. Kelly, OK? And you’re famous, and your name is ringing 25 million times a day all over the world … of people trying to get money from you … and they’re using your past … they’re using the past allegations, ‘the past case that he beat’ to link it on to that. They’re using that.”

“Jeopardy!” Host Alex Trebek Diagnosed With Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

Alex Trebek is preparing for the fight of his life after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

The longtime “Jeopardy!” host announced the sad news Wednesday (Mar. 6) in a video posted on the show’s YouTube account.

“Now, normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this. And I’m going to keep working and with the love and support of my family and friends — and with the help of your prayers also — I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease,” he said.

Alex intends to finish out the current season of “Jeopardy!” and even joked that his contract calls for him to host the popular game show for at least three more years.

“So help me. Keep the faith, and we’ll win. We’ll get it done,” he added.

Alex Trebek, 78, has hosted the show since its debut in 1984 and they’ve never had a guest host.
