In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Mariah Carey offers the reporter, Carly Steel, a tour of her yacht, which is anchored off the coast of Italy. The gag is that this yacht is exclusively HER yacht. Her boyfriend, Packer, has a nearby yacht that she ferries over to whenever she feels like jumping his old bones.

But the fact that Mariah Carey and her boo has a his and hers’ yacht, while eye-popping, isn’t that crazy. When you’ve got over billion dollars to play with, why not?

No, the real mind boggling thing is that Mariah Carey has apparently decided to LIVE on her yacht for the summer. Carly Steel brushes past this little tidbit in her interview like it’s totally normal, but it’s very much NOT. Typically, the only people who live in houseboats are those who can’t afford to do better. But Mariah’s consciously and purposely decide to live on the water in a boat, for an entire season.

Yes, the yacht is the equivalent of a castle floating on the water. So it’s not like she’s lacking for space, but still. Who just decides to live ON the ocean and call that home? Who does she think she is? Ariel?

In case you’re wondering, it apparently costs ~~Mariah~~ James Packer $340,000 a week to fund this luxurious lifestyle on the ocean.

I know James Packer is stupid rich, but throwing that kind of money on a floating summer house is absolutely insane and impressive at the same time.

Michelle Williams Gets the Last Laugh in Foot Locker Commercial

Look, it’s no secret that the most successful, visible and popular member from Destiny’s Child is Beyoncé. Kelly Rowland comes in a distant second and Michelle Williams…well, did you even remember she was a part of the group?

Now, before any Destiny’s Child fans (or more specifically DC3 fans, because DC4 fans have never seen it for Michelle) claw my eyes out, of course Michelle is a talent in her own right. Anyone who has studied or followed Destiny’s Child after they became DC3 knows how funny, kind and grounded she is. But to the general public, she’s that “other” girl in Beyoncé’s old group.

Never one to take herself TOO seriously, Michelle plays up her diminished status in her post-Destiny’s Child life in a commercial for Foot Locker.

In the clip, which is called “Stand Out,” Golden State Warrior player Draymond Green is sitting in a hotel lobby when he’s approached by former Chicago Bull Horace Grant. Grant compliments Green on his Foot Locker gear but then encourages him to find a way to stand out, since he’s surrounded by MVPs.

Green responds in surprise, asking, “You play?” He clearly doesn’t recognize Grant. So Grant pulls out his iconic goggles and reminds him who he is. After Green realizes he’s talking to a living legend, Michelle Williams, who casually happens to be walking by, chimes in and tells Green, “He’s right, you know?”

Confusing Michelle for a waitress, Grant shoos her away telling her they don’t need anything. Michelle balks and informs him that she doesn’t work at the establishment. She is Michelle Williams! You know, from Destiny’s Child.

“Oooohhh!” Grant and Green say in unison.

At that moment, Green asks Michelle if he can introduce him to….and then the commercial fades to black. If you have to guess who the person implied in that commercial is, you must’ve been dropped on your head as a child.

New Couple Alert: Nick Cannon Spotted Dining With Chilli & Her Mother at LA Japanese Restaurant

There’s no denying it anymore. Nick Cannon and Chilli are definitely an item. Cannon is even meeting the parents.

The multi-faceted entertainer was spotted last week (Aug. 4) dinning with Chilli and her mother. Reportedly, Chilli and her mother, Ava, requested a “relatively exclusive” table at Los Angeles restaurant ROKU and Cannon arrived 15 minutes later.

“Nick was super engaged with Chilli and her mom and very animated. They were laughing and giggling and seemed to be telling lots of jokes,” a source told People magazine. The source also added the couple were “very warm” with each other.

After dining on “yellowtail sashimi, spicy tuna on crispy rice and baked crab hand rolls” (according to People) for an hour and a half, the trio left the restaurant together.

Cannon and Chilli have been rumored to be in a relationship for a little over a month now. They’ve been seen making out and getting very close, however they have not confirmed the romance. Cannon even laughed off the rumors, stating he’s “damaged goods” and she wouldn’t even want to date someone like him.

I don’t see how the two can continue to play coy. However, I completely understand wanting to keep a low-profile given Cannon’s much publicized marriage to Mariah Carey.

Adele Reportedly the Frontrunner to Headline 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show, But Is She the Right Artist?

It’s getting close to that time again. The National Football League is narrowing down their list to determine who will headline the 2017 Halftime Super Bowl show, and sources say British crooner Adele is at the current frontrunner.

Though reps for Adele or the NFL have not commented on the rumor, an unnamed source revealed the news to British tabloid The Sun.

“There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up. She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers. It’s Adele’s nerves that are the issue — it hasn’t been an easy sell.”

As much as I love Adele (and I do love me some Adele), she’s not the right fit.

The Super Bowl halftime performance needs someone who’s going to put on a show, complete with choreography, dancers, intricate lighting, props, and maybe even some fire and fog. Adele doesn’t do that; she stands in front a mic stand and sings her heart out and this is what we expect from her. Anything else would seem forced and probably uncomfortable to watch.

Early in her career, she tried using back up dancers and backdrops to give her live performances a little action, but she said she felt unauthentic and no longer goes for the glitz and glam we might see from the likes of a Beyoncé or Katy Perry.

The halftime show also needs positive, upbeat music that will keep the football audience hype. Adele has a few song selections that kinda-sorta-but-not-really fit the bill. However, most of her popular songs are somber ballads with a heartbreak theme.

Don’t hate me for saying it, but I’d almost rather have Taylor Swift headline the next Halftime Show. Her name has also been thrown around for the past year or so. At least she would keep the rowdy football fans engaged and awake.

All the speculation will have to continue. An official announcement is still months away.

Drake Is Still Throwing Jabs at Hot 97 Even Though It’s Time to Move on From This Petty Hip Hop Beef

This Drake vs. Hot 97 feud has gotten real petty real quick. The rapper spent his fourth and final night at Madison Square Garden dissing the radio station.

The final concert of Drake’s four-night Summer Sixteen Tour run in NYC featured Fat Joe, Remy Ma, T.I., J. Cole, Dipset, and other popular hip hop artists. Due to the amount of stars Drake had out on the stage, he threw a little shade at Hot 97’s annual hip hop fest, Summer Jam. “This was the real Summer Jam. What have they done for New York lately? I don’t know,” he said to the crowd.

To make matters worse, Drake took to social media and posted photos of him and Charlamagne Tha God popping bottle after the concert. Charlamagne is a popular personality at Hot 97’s main rival station Power 105.

Although Drake and Charlagmane have had beef in the past, the pic was in reference to a lyric from “Back to Back,” a diss track the rapper released last year aimed at Meek Mill.

“You gon’ make me send some bottles to Charlamagne,” he rapped. Drake also sent the radio personality six bottles of Dom Perignon champagne with a handwritten note after the track dropped.

The back-and-forth beef began after Ebro revealed on his radio show “Ebro in the Morning” that Eminem was planning to release a diss track targeting Drake. This now seems not to be true, and Drake did not like the insinuation and reportedly said “F**k Hot 97” during one of his MSG concerts. He also urged the station to fire Funkmaster Flex, a personality he already has beef with.

The drama was interesting in the beginning, but now I’m wondering why grown men are being childish over something so petty. Honestly, both sides need to just let it go at this point.

But when Lochte showed up in Rio for this year’s games, viewers quickly noticed the new hairdo. Gone are his dark locks, instead replaced with a bluish gray set of hair. The change kind of makes him look like a younger, douchier version of CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

But what made the swimmer decide to make such a drastic change? Was it a statement on civil liberties or maybe to raise awareness or funds for a special cause? No, not at all.

When asked what prompted the change, Lochte told USA Today, “usually I’ve always done the grills at the Olympics. I left the grills at home. I had to do something different so why not the hair? It’s different, that’s me, that’s my personality.”

Dwayne Johnson Disses Male “Fast 8” Co-Stars and Probably Wishes He Could Settle Their Issues in a WWE Match

Admittedly, I don’t know much about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I did not follow his wrestling career and have not seen many of his films since he became a popular actor. However, one thing I do assume is that it’s never a good idea to get on his bad side.

Unfortunately, a few of his Fast 8 castmates did not get that memo. The actor is wrapping up his portion of the film and took to Instagram to thank the cast and crew. While he had great things to say about his female co-stars, he takes a few shots at the nameless male co-stars that get his blood “legit boiling.”

Here’s what he wrote in part:

“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken shit to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and newcomer Scott Eastwood are a few among Johnson’s male co-stars. Some have suggested Johnson’s jabs were aimed toward Tyrese or maybe even Eastwood, whose legendary father, Clint Eastwood, basically supported racism in a recent interview the father-son duo did together. In the same interview, Scott also uses the term “candy-asses.” So yeah, that’s an interesting coincidence.

However, none of the co-stars have responded to Johnson’s IG post. But I would definitely have loved to be a PA on that set. Could you image The Rock and Vin Diesel going at it? It’s clearly going down behind-the-scenes!

Fast 8 is expected to hit theaters in April 2017.

Karen “KK” King Claims Scrapp DeLeon Isn’t King’s Father and Tiarra’s Baby Daddy

One step forward, two steps back. Just when Tiarra and Karen “KK” King seemed like they’d finally gotten to a good place at the end of season 5 of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.

After a tearful exchange, the two women in Scrapp’s life had made amends and even worked together to throw a birthday party for King, Scrapp’s son.

But during the reunion special, KK dropped a major bomb when she claimed that a strange woman texted her claiming that her son and King were brothers and that Scrapp was NOT her baby’s father. KK believed that the boy in the picture that was sent to her looked remarkably like her alleged grandson.

Now, this is a messy, awful thing for a GRANDMOTHER to do on national television. I know she thinks she’s doing Tiarra in with this move, but she’s also slandering her grandson, King, by carrying this vicious lie. Anyone who looks at King can see that he’s the spitting image of Scrapp.

When she was confronted with the news by the reunion host, Tiarra smoothly brushed the baseless claim off. It didn’t even appear to be worth losing her shit over as she knew KK was willing to say and do anything to make her look bad, even if she had to make up things to make it happen.

If this drags out into next season, perhaps KK and Tiarra can invite Maury Povich to settle this once and for all?

No, We Don’t Need An “Empire” Spin-Off

The 2016 fall television season is upon us and all of your favorite shows will return with new episodes. Taraji P. Henson and Empire executive producers recently previewed the show’s third season at the Television Critics Association press tour.

The second season of the hit Fox series saw many unnecessary A-list guest stars, which the shifted show away from its main characters and rushed forced storylines. Showrunners have heard our complaints and have decided to return to what made Empire a must-watch show when it premiered in January 2015.

“We learned that the stories that work best and that we love telling most are about the family, and that always will be our focus,” said executive producer Ilene Chaiken said. “No matter what’s going on at Empire, it’s always about the family.”

However, guest stars including Taye Diggs, French Montana, Birdman, and even Mariah Carey have already been announced.

Chaiken also discussed the idea of a spinoff series after a reporter brought up the topic. “We talk about it. I think the show offers so many opportunities. There are potential spinoffs with Lucious and Cookie’s characters, sure,” he said.

Wait! Hold up! We need to toss that idea right out the window.

Empire is a ratings juggernaut, so I understand the desire to capitalize on its success and popularity by any means. But let’s keep it all the way real: we all struggled through season 2. For me, the show lost its unique spark. Writers and producers really need to focus on the show they have on air right now rather than trying to create a spin-off.

It’s absolutely true that there are several characters that could lead a show of their own and possibilities for other spin-off ideas. But if the audience leaves Empire (as is quite possible) there won’t even be a need for a spin-off.

Even though a reporter posed this particular subject at a press event, Chaiken, creator Lee Daniels, and other producers shouldn’t even have this conversation behind closed doors.

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s Reality Show May or May Not Be in Crisis Mode

Rob & Chyna, the reality show that everyone was dying for about 5 months ago before messy Chyna made up with her soon-to-be sister-in-law, might be hitting a bumpy patch in the road. Or it might be running along just smoothly, thank you very much.

So which story is true? Well, it depends on whether you believe TMZ’s version of events or People’s magazine’s.

TMZ came out swinging first with a story claiming that Rob Kardashian was having second thoughts about placing his personal life back under the unflattering glare of reality TV. After all, the pressures of fame drove him to become depressed and obese in the first place.

Rob Kardashian is going back in his shell … and his reality show is now on the ropes.

Production sources for his new reality show with fiancee Blac Chyna tell TMZ … Rob has been skipping filming over the last month, complaining that the show is compromising their relationship.

We’re told Rob believes ‘KUWTK’ has destroyed his family, and he fears the same will happen with his relationship with Blac Chyna if they put everything out there for the new show.

As a result he’s been a no-show for various shoots … notably a big Kardashian shindig in San Diego celebrating his grandmother’s birthday. Blac Chyna ended up filming solo.

Honestly? This doesn’t sound far-fetched given Rob’s random bouts of reclusiveness and his spotty track record with appearing and disappearing on main reality franchise, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

But Kris Jenner and Blac Chyna weren’t about to have Rob mess up their money, so they quickly dialed up the folks at People magazine and put out a counter narrative, claiming that all was well and that there haven’t been any disruptions with production of the show.

Though expectant parents Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s relationship has encountered pressures in recent weeks, an insider tells PEOPLE that “there haven’t been any problems with production” on filming the couple’s E! reality show.

There have definitely been a few growing pains on the set of the show. It’s a lot of work and a big commitment,” a source close to Kardashian tells PEOPLE. “But things are going more smoothly now.”

“There haven’t been any problems with production,” an insider closely tied to the reality production said of filming Rob & Chyna, which will debut later this year. “It’s set up to follow the ups and downs of their lives and yes there are ups and downs, but that hasn’t affected production at all. The network is extremely happy so far.”

The People version of events is too neat, too clean and too polished to really ring as true. If I were a betting man, I’d place my money on TMZ. After all, they knew Michael Jackson was dead before anyone else. TMZ runs these streets.

Karlie Redd and Lyfe Jennings Throw Shady Insults at Each Other on Instagram

Even though their storyline was one of the LEAST interesting stories from the hip-hop soap opera known as Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Karlie Redd and her ex-boyfriend (almost fiancé) Lyfe Jennings still feel some type of way about their relationship coming to an abrupt halt.

The latest dust-up between Karlie and Lyfe didn’t take place on the LHHATL reunion, but on Instagram. It all started when Karlie Redd shaded her ex-boo passively aggressively by bragging about the car that her new man bought her.

And in an effort to rub the utmost salt in the wound, Lyfe mocked Karlie’s car present by posting a picture of what looked like a bumper car and called it his “Just because gift.” The funniest part? When Karlie called him out in the comments, Lyfe trolled so hard and tried to act like he was shading some OTHER woman who was just on Instagram begging for “Just because” car gifts.

While this session of petty and shade was mildly entertaining, I really do hope Karlie has found a better man than Lyfe’s broke-ass. Karlie is already on the struggle train so there is absolutely no need for her to keep the struggle fire burning with Lyfe’s success-deficient lifestyle.

Porsha Williams Rushed to Atlanta Hospital after Collapsing in Shopping Center Parking Lot

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams has suffered a health scare. Williams was rushed to an Atlanta hospital Monday (Aug. 8) after collapsing in a shopping center parking lot.

The Bravo personality was reportedly gasping for air while shopping and passed out. Witnesses called 911 and a rescue unit transported her to Piedmont Hospital.

Her condition is currently unknown, but sources say she’s doing fine. Apparently, she has not been eating properly and may have had low blood sugar.

A similar incident occurred back in March when Williams fainted during a flight from Atlanta to Miami. Three doctors aboard the flight determined low blood sugar was the cause and provided her with sugar. She was re-examined once the plane landed.

Williams’ sudden collapse is the latest frightening incident to occur to an Atlanta “Housewife.” Just a few weeks ago, a former client of Phaedra Parks’ threatened to blow up her law office if he didn’t get to talk to the lawyer turned reality star. Fortunately, he had no bomb and also entered the wrong building.

We sure hope Porsha isn’t suffering from anything worse than treatable low blood sugar. Hopefully she’ll recover quickly and back to her ditzy, yet entertaining self.

Dennis Rodman Tells the Stories of How He Broke His Dick Three Times

We all know Dennis Rodman. The eccentric player who played with Michael Jordan on his championship teams. You know, the one who wears dresses and dyes his hair all sorts of crazy colors. And, unsurprisingly, Dennis’ personal stories are even crazier than the public persona he puts on.

Russian Hockey Player Tries to Fight Entire Opposing Team, Forces Forfeit

Hockey is this magical sport that combines elements of all of our favorite past times. It has the physicality of football, the teamwork of basketball, the scoring of soccer, and the fighting of boxing. All while players skate at high speeds on ice.

But a KHL player (that’s an international league consisting of 29 clubs) took the sport to a whole ‘nother level recently when he single-handedly decided he was going to challenge the entire opposing team to a fight.

A member of the Kazakhstan team, Damir Ryspayev, decided to go ham against the China-based Kunlun Red Star squad in a pre-season match.

He started by sucker-punching one player, then moved onto another, and then another, before finally ending up on the opposing team’s bench and punching the first player he saw.

The hot-headedness of the defensemen led to his coach pulling his team and forfeiting the match. The KHL announced Ryspayev has been suspended indefinitely and additional punishments are forthcoming.

Fights are one thing that separates hockey from most other sports where the act is, to say the least, frowned upon, but Ryspayev took it to a whole ‘nother level. To me, it seems like this guy should take the skates off and get himself into the octagon where it seems he’d be more comfortable.

Snoop Dogg’s Son Quits UCLA Football Team Again to Become Underwear Model

Snoop Dogg’s son clearly wants to live the Hollywood life rather than play football. Cordell Broadus has quit the UCLA football team for the second time in less than two years.

The 19-year-old was not present as the Bruins began training camp Monday (Aug. 8) nor was he on the official roster. This lead to the UCLA associate director of communications to confirm Broadus was, once again, off the team.

Sources say his “head wasn’t completely in it” and decided to quit. In 2015, the rapper’s son forfeited his football scholarship to focus on other opportunities. Missing the game, he wanted to earn his spot back onto the team in March.

He must not have missed it too much because sources say he wants to focus more on his modeling career. Just months attempting his football comeback, Broadus signed with Wilhelmina modeling agency, and he’s currently working on an underwear line.

The film student is also very interested in filmmaking. He produces films for the UCLA YouTube page.

Growing up with a famous dad wasn’t enough, apparently. I think Cordell Broadus wants a taste of Hollywood success and fame for himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops out of UCLA altogether to focus on his Hollywood interests.

Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers Slays at Stand-Up Comedy

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin is best known for throwing down ferocious dunks. He and fellow big man DeAndre Jordan (and, soon, UNC grad Bryce Johnson) are what make Lob City so exciting to watch. It’s things like this that made me a Clippers fan.

But it turns out that Blake has another talent outside of the court. Just as Portland guard Damian Lillard could be a professional rapper, Griffin could probably make a living doing stand-up comedy. He recently visited Just For Laughs in Montreal and did a 10-minute set that had the audience in stitches.

And this isn’t the first time the Clipper has taken the stage. Back in 2014, he went to the famous Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and performed at their open mic night with a little “slam dunk poetry.”

So what have we learned? Being traded in the NBA is like trading spouses, Griffin loves titties, and football players are f*cking stupid.

Being a parent isn’t always the easiest thing in the world. You want nothing but the best for your child, but sometimes the struggle is real when you have to take a step back and watch them, well, struggle.

It’s no different for the parents of Aly Raisman, the 22-year-old gold medal American gymnast nicknamed Grandma. During Sunday’s (Aug. 8) beam performance, Aly nearly fell off but managed to save herself and finish with a strong performance.

But while watching Raisman compete is entertaining, it doesn’t hold a candle to watching her parents watch her compete.

By this point, the Raismans are well known for being squirmy parents while watching their daughter do her thing. Back in the 2012 London games, the camera caught the couple reacting the same way.

Not many parents get the opportunity to watch their child perform on the biggest stage in sports, but most can relate to the powerless feeling of hoping they succeed without the ability to help. But most aren’t quite as visual with their feelings as the Raismans.

Regardless, I just hope Aly is able to pull an Oksana Chusovitina and compete into her 40s so that we keep getting these great reaction videos from her parents.
