A Florida man has been arrested on child abuse charges after he left his juvenile son on the side of a highway after suspecting that the boy was gay.
Police said 30-year-old Evenaud Julmeus dropped his son off near the Haines City Police Department with a duffel bag filled with clothes, but no money or food.
The local precinct was closed at the time, however, a witness saw the incident and reported it to authorities.
Police said the boy, who is a preteen, was “very upset and crying.” He told police his father was angry with him because he thought he was gay.
The boy said he and his dad got into an argument after his dad found him watching gay porn on his phone, immediately leading to the father’s suspicions that his son was a homosexual.
The boy said Julmeus told him to pack his bags and get in the car. When they arrived on Highway 27 near the Haines City Police Department, the boy said Julmeus ordered him to get out and told him: “Police will find you a new home.”
After abandoning his son on the side of the road, Julmeus returned home, the police report states.
When the boy’s mother asked Julmeus where their son was, he told her what he did and if she wanted to go get him, he’s at the police department. The woman then immediately left the house to find her son.
Evenaud Julmeus was arrested Sunday (Dec. 1) and charged with three counts of negligent child abuse without bodily harm.
Police said Julmeus had fled the home before they arrived to arrest him, leaving two young children alone with no supervision, which explains the other two negligent child abuse charges.
George Zimmerman, the Florida man who got away with the murder of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin 2012, has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the boy’s family, their attorneys, prosecutors and the state of Florida on allegations that the prosecution’s key witness in his 2013 murder trial was “fake.”
Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, said he’d been attacked by Martin and was simply defending himself when he shot and killed 17-year-old Martin in a gated community in Sanford, Florida in February 2012.
Martin, who lived with his mother, Sybrina Fulton, in Miami Gardens was visiting his father, Tracy Martin, at the time of the fatal shooting.
Zimmerman’s lawsuit—which was filed Wednesday (Dec. 4) in Polk County, Florida and obtained by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel—alleges that in March 2012, the Sanford Police Department thoroughly investigated Martin’s shooting death and closed the case, calling the killing “self-defense” on Zimmerman’s part.
However, the suit claims that a week later, attorney Benjamin Crump—who represented Martin’s family—produced an audiotape recording of “Diamond Eugene”—Martin’s 16-year-old girlfriend who’d been on the phone with him just before his fatal altercation with Zimmerman.
The suit alleges that two weeks later, 18-year-old Rachel Jeantel told prosecutors she was Diamond Eugene and “and provided false statements to incriminate Zimmerman based on coaching from others.”
Zimmerman’s lawyers are arguing that based on Martin’s cellphone records, Rachel Jeantel was not Martin’s girlfriend, was not on the phone with him prior to the altercation, and that “she lied repeatedly to cause Zimmerman’s arrest and to try to send him to prison for life.”
During Zimmerman’s murder trial, Jeantel told the court she signed her name as Diamond Eugene in a letter she sent to Martin’s mother about the shooting.
The lawsuit states: “Defendant Jeantel lied repeatedly about having a relationship with Trayvon, about being on the phone with Trayvon in the days and minutes up to his death, and lied about everything she claimed to have heard over the phone in the hours and minutes prior to Trayvon’s death. Defendant Jeantel also lied about her identity, falsely claiming her nickname to be ‘Diamond Eugene.'”
According to Zimmerman’s lawyers, the real Diamond Eugene was actually a Miami resident named Brittany Diamond Eugene who “refused to bear false witness against Zimmerman.”
Zimmerman’s attorneys say the allegations didn’t come out during the trial, however, it was “the fraud that was perpetuated on the court.”
Larry Klayman, a former federal prosecutor representing Zimmerman in this case, added: “It was a complete travesty of justice which destroyed my client’s life. People are destroyed and smeared and they have to start fighting back.”
The lawsuit goes on to say that after the charges, Zimmerman dropped out of school, received multiple death threats and suffered “great mental anguish, resulting in Zimmerman requiring professional treatment by psychologists for anxiety, depression, insomnia, and weight gain. Zimmerman was formally diagnosed with depression as well as PTSD and PTSS which he suffers from and remains in treatment for to this day.”
Zimmerman’s lawsuit also names HarperCollins Publishers, accusing them of defamation in a book Crump published in October 2019 called Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People.
According to the lawsuit, the book was published “with actual malice knowing the untruth or at a minimum a reckless disregard for the truth,” and its title “creates the false implication that Plaintiff Zimmerman participated and participates in the genocide of colored people.”
Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, is running as a 2020 Democrat candidate for the Miami-Dade County Commission, District 1 seat.
With the launch of Disney+, many are binge-watching their early 2000s Disney Channel favs for nostalgia and a few laughs.
And with the playback of these shows with fresh eyes and ears, we’re catching some interesting things we may have missed when they first aired.
Earlier this week, a Twitter user was watching the Raven-Symone hit That’s So Raven.
As the characters Raven and Eddie get in a verbal argument during a road trip, the user was shocked at what they thought they heard Raven slip and say not just once, but twice!
“Omfg Raven really slipped in ‘JUST LIKE A RUDE N*GGA’ twice in her argument with Eddie and Disney ain’t even notice”
Omfg Raven really slipped in “JUST LIKE A RUDE NIGGA” twice in her argument with Eddie and Disney ain’t even notice ??? pic.twitter.com/assT5RmniZ
The fan went on to stan Raven in subsequent tweets, naming her “the Queen of Disney.”
Upon further inspection, many noted that Raven seemingly says “fruity n*gga” instead of “rude.”
Eddie’s comeback references of the pink car the three friends are driving in and the flamboyant musician Little Richard supports the corrected semantics, albeit very problematic.
Either way, the fact that Raven went full mad black woman and uttered the slang term “n*gga” on a kid-friendly Disney show not once, but twice remains.
The episode in question is titled “Driving Miss Lazy” and aired during the show’s fourth and final season in 2006.
Raven-Symone and Orlando Brown (Eddie) would have been around 21 and 19, respectively and may have felt grown and rebellious during this particular adlibbed scene.
But even given That So Raven‘s enormous popularity at the time and the freedom that may have come with it being the network’s first original show to surpass 65 episodes, one has to wonder how this major gaffe slipped past producers, script advisors, editors, and even Raven and Brown!
Editor was like “A fruity ninja? Ha, this girl is so funny and child friendly!”
Neither Raven nor Brown have commented “N*gga-Gate” since the clip has gone viral.
I’m sure many more Disney+ subscribers will be listening even harder for previously unnoticed funny slip-ups and mishaps as they re-watch their favorite shows and movies.
The opioid epidemic is a crisis affecting many families across the nation. Singer Lil’ Mo just revealed that her own home was rocked by an opioid addiction.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday (Dec. 3), the entertainer bravely revealed to her fans that she was secretly addicted to opioids and was also being physically abused.
The black and white text photo reads:
“I never thought I could get off opioids!”
“BUT I DID!” she added in the post’s caption.
Mo writes that she received treatment for her addiction and has been sober for nine months.
“The OPPS is real mad that i can speak about not having to wake up and pop a 30 PLUS, addi, tramadol and/or whatever else was brought into the house by the devil. I was just the MONEY. Not gonna even CAP. Spent sooooo much paying other people bills just to be high and a functioning addict. Glad i let the TOXIC GO!!!”
Mo also revealed that she was in some sort of abusive situation in connection with the drugs, and that having her life threatened and contemplating suicide was her rock bottom that prompted her to get sober.
“Clean bitch, inside out. Was in and out of court because i was being PHYSICALLY abused…Until the day i heard the words ‘I’ll blow your fcukin [sic] head off and throw you over this balcony!! Then i ran for MY LIFE!! 9 months ago. I haven’t looked back!”
Though it has not been confirmed if her abuser was husband boxer Karl Dargan, the two did split earlier this year following accusations of infidelity and an overall tumultuous relationship.
With her newfound sobriety and cleansing her life of toxic people, Mo has high hopes for herself and her five children for the new year.
And she also has wise words of advice for those who may be in similar situations.
“I’m at so much peace i don’t want it to be disturbed (save yourself then put the oxygen mask on everyone else),” Mo writes.
“Whatever you are dealing with Don’t take into the new decade. We 28 days away. You can quit NEOWWWWWWW!! Don’t be embarrassed be empowered.”
Cardi B is defending her husband Offset against accusations that he’s still out here cheating on her.
Earlier today, Tekashi 6ix9ine’s girlfriend Jade—one of two women accusing Cardi B of sending people to beat them up at a strip club last year—took to Instagram and shared a video screenshot of what appeared to be Offset sliding in her DM’s, writing in a private message: “Miss u fr.”
“Your wife @iamcardib has a OPEN CRIMINAL CASE,” Jade wrote in the caption. “Why are you writing me you don’t respect her ??????? [There’s] a lot of sh*t I haven’t exposed yet , but there’s a time for that.”
She added: “I’m the QUEEN of talking sh*t now I’m backing it up,” apparently shading Cardi, who raps a similar line in her song with Pardison Fontaine “Backin’ It Up.”
https://www.instagram.com/p/B5nxMTKHdRH/
Cardi B has since taken to social media herself to respond to the drama, saying that his account was hacked and he’s not the one who sent Jade that DM.
“Everybody know he’s done some dumb sh*t, but come on … n***as ain’t crazy,” she said, likely referring to the cheating allegations that almost ended their marriage around this time last year.
She added: “We’ve been so good. We had a sweet weekend, life has been good … He would never play himself like that. That’s why I’m not entertaining it and getting all rowdy.”
After her explanation, Cardi quickly panned the camera to Offset, who was holding their daughter Kulture. “I got hacked y’all,” he said.
Cardi wrote in the caption of her video: “We look crazy …don’t mind us y’all we both sick and just woke up …anyways we not going to entertain bullsh*t.”

“If you ain’t eating Rap Noodles, then you shouldn’t be eating noodles,” P said. “Cause this is the best of the best noodles. Those other noodle companies have nothing on us! We Rap Noodles … the King Kong of Noodles.”
He wrote in the caption of his post on Instagram: “Chef-Boy-Ar-P. I grew up on noodles now I created my own brand. Start small and build. Get you some product if you want to be successful. Former Notre Dame and NFL running back George Atkinson III unexpectedly died Monday (Dec. 2). He was only 27.
Though his cause of death of death has not been revealed, Atkinson’s sudden passing comes less than a year after his twin brother, Josh, committed suicide.
As reported by Pete Sampson of The Athletic and other outlets, Atkinson had been suffering from depression since his brother’s suicide in January 2019.
Former Notre Dame running back George Atkinson III has died. Atkinson III has been dealing with depression since the death of his twin brother Josh roughly one year ago. Both were part of Notre Dame’s 2011 recruiting class.
In October, Atkinson—who had an unstable childhood—penned an essay to “kids going through tough times” and opened up about how his brother’s tragic death lead to depression. He even revealed that he was admitted to a psychiatric institution and trying to self-harm.
Atkinson III wrote in part:
“That’s the moment I felt like I lost everything. That’s the moment I can’t describe…I was 5150’d – forced into the same institution my mom was once in because I, too, tried to harm myself.
“Filled with anger and guilt, I was on an emotional roller coaster and in a real dark place.”
It was his 2-year-old daughter who gave him strength to get better.
“Without my daughter, I don’t know where I would be right now. She gave me that second wind of motivation,” he wrote.
George and Josh were the sons of Super Bowl champ and former Oakland Raiders defensive back George Atkinson II.
Their mother suffered from schizophrenia and self-medicated with crack cocaine and other drugs.
She died last October from complications of Crohn’s disease. Josh’s grief over her death was a factor in his deep depression and subsequent suicide.
In his October 2019 essay, Atkinson III ominously admitted that the impending holiday season would be difficult without his mother and brother.
“My mother’s birthday just passed and I know the holidays this year won’t be easy. But I am trying to take life one day at a time,” he wrote.
Despite his father’s legendary status, Atkinson III never found much NFL success.
After he and his brother both played for Notre Dame, Atkinson was briefly signed to the Oakland Raiders and then bounced around between several practice squads.
His only NFL regular-season appearance was in 2016 and he was last signed to an NFL team in August 2018.
Our thoughts go out to the Atkinson family as they continue to grieve their three family members.
The death of a 6-year-old boy who collapsed and died while in his school lunch line has been ruled a homicide caused by his mother.
In June, Tyzavier Martin was in his school lunch line waiting for pizza when he suddenly collapsed, began bleeding from a neck wound and foaming at the mouth.
It was only his second day back at school after having survived his mother slashing his throat with a box cutter in April.
Last week, the Bronx Office of the Chief Medical Examiner officially ruled Tyzavier’s death a homicide.
The report states the 6-year-old died of “asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by laryngeal granuloma complicating incised wound of neck.”
In April, Shanice Martin, 24, allegedly left Tyzavier and her 2-year-old daughter for dead on a Bronx street after slitting their throats with a box cutter.
Following the brutal attack, Martin walked to a nearby police station covered in her children’s blood and turned herself in, stating “Go ahead and arrest me.”
Meanwhile, passersby came to the rescue of Tyzavier and his sister. The two were taken to hospital and they both survived the initial attack.
Martin has been held on Rikers Island since turning herself in. She was charged with several counts of attempted murder, assault, child abandonment, child endangerment and weapons possession, with a possibility of the charges being upgraded.
It has not been announced if Martin’s charges have been upgraded in light of Tyzavier’s death being ruled a homicide, but it’s likely.
A Connecticut church community is in shock after a newlywed pastor and her retired police officer husband, who was also a church elder, were found shot dead in bed after what sounds like a murder-suicide.
The Waterbury Police Department said in a statement that the bodies of 48-year-old LaRhonda Jones, an assistant pastor at RIM City Church in New Haven, along with her 54-year-old husband, Eric, were found on Thursday, November 21st.
LaRhonda’s employer, as well as her sister, called police to perform a welfare check after she didn’t show up for work.
The woman and her husband were found in the bedroom of their Waterbury condo dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
While officials haven’t classified the case as a murder-suicide, police found a handgun at the scene and said they needed a property manager to unlock the couple’s condo, so it doesn’t appear anyone broke into the home.
“The church is devastated, devastated,” Denarian Gordon, Sr., RIM City Church’s senior pastor, who performed the couple’s marriage ceremony just one year ago, told WTNH. “We’re all in a state of shock, disbelief.”
A friend of LaRhonda’s, Jennifer Whiten, said she was shocked to hear the news, considering LaRhonda always seemed happy with her husband Eric—a former New Haven police officer who retired in 2012 after 20 years on the force.
Whiten described LaRhonda as a selfless woman—the kind of friend who’d drop whatever they were doing to be there for people in their time of need.
Whiten also said that LaRhonda was a survivor of domestic violence from a previous relationship.
“She had a huge presence,” Whiten told WFSB. “Her spirit was just a welcoming spirit, everybody gravitated towards her. Everybody just loved her. It’s just a shock.”
The couple also frequently wrote about their relationship and talked about how much they loved each other on social media.
“Saturday, March 10, 2018, I married one of God’s sons. He loves me in-spite of me. He is saved for real, he loves God, patient, kind, funny, straightforward, and handsome. I am proud to be his wife and call him my husband. #wearethejones’s,” she wrote on Facebook shortly after their wedding.
Less than two months later, in a post shared on May 4th, LaRhonda called Eric the “perfect example of a man and husband” and thanked him for working hard to support her ministry and patiently “putting up with me.”
She wrote:
“Dear Husband: Eric Jones. You are one of God’s greatest blessings to me. Thank you for choosing me to be your good thing. I am blessed to have you as my husband. You are so dope.
“Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for your endless patience. Thank you for taking care of everything. Thank you for working so hard for us. For going to work day after day to make things happen for us. It is not going unnoticed. For going out there and doing your best despite the frustrations and obstacles.
“Thank you for supporting my ministry. I really appreciate that. Thank you for your constant encouragement and belief in me. You push me to be better even though I try to hide behind you. Lol!!!
“Thank you for listening and keeping me on my toes. Thank you for being so handsome along with other things I can’t mention here. You are the perfect example of a man and a husband. You are the perfect husband for me.
“I don’t have the words to express what an awesome husband you are but I love you with my whole heart. Forever and always devoted to you. Your wife Rhonda.”
On his Facebook page, Eric described his 2018 marriage to LaRhonda as a “fresh start.” He celebrated his birthday in October and thanked his wife in a post on Facebook.
“I am so great full for everyone who took the time out for all the birthday wishes. I am still smiling. God has blessed me to see another year in which, I am thankful,” he shared. “Special thanks to my wife for making the day great… Love you sweetheart.”
Back in March, LaRhonda posted on Facebook that she celebrated her birthday with Eric by attending Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Farewell Tour at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, CT.
She wrote: “My husband made sure my birthday was perfect. He is the best husband ever. Today was an excellent birthday. [Thanks] sweetheart for the gifts, the flowers, the balloons, and the play. Now off for a late dinner. Also, thank you to my FB family and friends for all the birthday wishes. You guys rock.”
Kid Rock showed his whole entire A-S-S recently at a bar he owns and ended up getting kicked off the stage after going on a drunken rant about Oprah Winfrey.
TMZ reports that the incident went down last week at his restaurant/bar, Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock ‘N Roll Steakhouse, in Nashville, Tennessee.
While addressing patrons, Kid Rock took aim at Oprah Winfrey and other famous TV talk show hosts, like The View’s Joy Behar and Kathy Lee Gifford:
“I’m not a bad guy. I’m just an honest guy that says, ‘Hey, I don’t like Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar. They can suck d**k sideways,’ […] Sorry, mom…. F**k Oprah. F**k Kathie [Lee] Gifford…. I’m not the bad in the equation. I’m the f**kin’ guy you want—like, ‘Hey, he’s pretty cool.'”
Kid went on to say that just because he hates these people, especially Oprah, that doesn’t make him a racist, however, some people in the crowd disagreed.
Rock also seemingly offered an explanation behind his rant via Twitter, saying his beef with Oprah started when producers of her show asked him to “write down 5 reasons why [he] loved [Oprah].”
“I said f**k that and her,” he said. “End of story.”
My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show…???? I said fuck that and her. End of story.
Terry Glenn Jr., the son of the late former NFL star receiver Terry Glenn, died of an accidental drug overdose on Thanksgiving, close family sources revealed to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The newspaper reports that the 22-year-old was at home with his family in Columbus, Ohio Thursday (Nov. 28) when he was found unresponsive in a bathroom.
Glenn Jr.’s tragic death comes nearly two years to the date after his father died in a car crash on November 20th, 2017 while on his way home from a Cowboys game with his fiancé, Verina LeGrand.
The vehicle struck a concrete barrier and rolled over before ejecting Glenn Sr. from the driver’s seat. A toxicology report later revealed Glenn Sr. had a BAC of .165 at the time of the crash, more than twice the legal limit.
In a twist of fate, Glenn Jr.’s last tweet, posted on Thanksgiving Day, was about his late father.
“I miss him so much,” he tweeted. “This time of the year is the hardest by far man… This was his holiday and the last one got cut short right before we were allllll gonna be together… really just wonder why.”
I miss him so much. ?? this time of the year is the hardest by far man… this was his holiday and the last one got cut short right before we were allllll gonna be together… really just wonder why
Terry Jr.’s death follows a tragic family legacy. His grandmother was murdered by a former boyfriend when Terry Sr. was just 13 years old.
The elder Glenn lived with relatives before eventually becoming a ward of the state of Ohio. He went on to become a star football player at Ohio State and eventually made it to the NFL.
Terry Glenn Sr. was the 7th overall pick of the 1996 NFL Draft and played 12 seasons in the NFL with the Patriots, Packers and Cowboys.
Before playing in the Super Bowl in 1997 with the Patriots, Glenn Sr. told Sports Illustrated that 10 of his close friends and relatives had died since his mother’s murder, including two cousins and an uncle, who were both shot to death.
Glenn Sr. also said many of his loved ones had turned to drugs, and now, his son who shares his name has died at the age of 22 from an accidental drug overdose.
Billy Dee Williams—best known for playing Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars franchise and also the man your grandmas and aunties fawned over back in the 80’s and 90’s—is opening up about his gender identity.
In a newly released interview with Esquire magazine, the 82-year-old actor revealed that he is gender fluid and uses both he/him and she/her pronouns.
“I say ‘himself’ and ‘herself,’ because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine,” Williams said. “I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself.”
He continued: “I never tried to be anything except myself. I think of myself as a relatively colorful character who doesn’t take himself or herself too seriously.”
When the interviewer pointed out that Donald Glover, who portrayed Lando in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars, talked about embracing gender fluidity and sexuality ahead of his own Star Wars franchise debut, the legendary actor lit up.
“Really? That kid is brilliant—just look at those videos,” he said, referring to Glover’s “This Is America” (as Childish Gambino).
Williams also discussed another signature role of his, one he says he’s most proud of—as famed NFL running back Gale Sayers in the 1971 movie Brian’s Song.
The film, which inspired people like The Rock and Jamie Foxx to get into the entertainment biz, is about two football players who were roommates and best friends.
“It was a love story, really,” Williams said of the movie, which went on to win an Emmy. “Between two guys. Without sex. It ended up being a kind of breakthrough in terms of racial division.”
Asked if his upcoming performance in the latest Star Wars movie means the end for his Lando Calrissian character, Williams said with a wink: “It’s a conclusion—certainly it depends on how much money is generated. That’s when they determine where’s the conclusion … The one thing about show business, you can resurrect anything.”
Billy Dee Williams is set to reprise his role as Lando in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which will be released on December 20th and will feature unused footage of the late Carrie Fisher to help complete the story.
Fisher, who would have played a key role in the film, passed away in 2016, two years before production began.
Chico DeBarge was recently arrested for drug possession after police caught him trying to break into his own car in a Walmart parking lot.
TMZ reports that the younger brother of the DeBarge family was popped earlier this month in Burbank, California after cops saw him using a piece of wire to try to unlock his SUV.
The singer had locked his keys inside the vehicle, and the po-po thought he was trying to break into someone else’s car.
After a quick search, police found methamphetamine in his pockets and he was placed under arrest. Police said they also found drug paraphernalia in his SUV.
Chico was taken to the Burbank City Jail and released. Formal charges, pending review by the City Attorney, will be announced at a later date, TMZ reported.

Chico DeBarge rose to fame in the 1980’s with his self-titled debut album featuring the hit single “Talk to Me.”
After releasing his sophomore album, he was arrested alongside his brother Bobby DeBarge in the late 80’s for drug trafficking.
Bobby later lost his life to AIDS in 1995. Their brother, James DeBarge, is the father of singer Kristina DeBarge, who appeared on WeTV’s Growing Up Hip Hop.
James was briefly married to Janet Jackson back in the 80’s and he, too, has suffered from drug addiction over the years.
Another famous DeBarge brother, El DeBarge, possibly the most well-known member of the family, has been plagued with his own addiction issues as well.
His addiction to cocaine led to multiple drug possession arrests and a 13-month stint in state prison in California.
El DeBarge was arrested again in 2012 for drug possession, but the case was dropped after the L.A. County District Attorney determined there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him.
A Texas high school teacher who was once honored as the “teacher of the year” of an entire school district was arrested for having an improper relationship with a student.
36-year-old Randi Chaverria was a Family and Consumer Science teacher at Round Rock High School.
According to an affidavit obtained by Round Rock’s KVUE News, Chaverria had sexual conduct with a current student several during the 2019 fall semester.
The student reportedly told police Chaverria performed oral sex on him twice in her classroom on or around October 16th.
Officials said they reviewed text messages between the student and Chaverria, and they were consistent with the student’s allegations.
School officials sent an e-mail to parents saying they were first notified that Chaverria had been accused of sexually abusing a student on November 18th, and once they were notified, the teacher “elected to take leave” before the administration received the report.
“Once notified, the teacher, who had elected to take leave before administration received the report, was immediately reported to the District’s Human Resources Department and law enforcement and not permitted to return to campus,” Round Rock High School principal Matt Groff wrote in the e-mail, according to KXAN-TV.
Groff also wrote that the case had been reported to the State Board for Educator Certification.
Groff also said the district plans to cooperate with police in the investigation.
“Safety is the top priority of Round Rock High School and Round Rock ISD. Ensuring a safe and secure learning environment requires partnership between students, parents, campus and district staff, as well as law enforcement,” he wrote.
Prior to the incident, Chaverria was a decorated teacher, having been awarded Secondary Teacher of the Year in May 2019, according to the Round Rock Independent School District website.
According to the news release announcing her award, Chaverria also headed an “Adopt-A-Child” community service project where high school students would adopt elementary school students in need and buy Christmas gifts for them.
Chaverria turned herself in to Williamson County Jail Tuesday morning (Nov. 26) and was released that same day after posting bond.
According to court records, she has yet to enter a plea and hasn’t hired an attorney to speak on her behalf.
A North Carolina woman was murdered at her job by her ex-boyfriend, and her family feels like the police could have done more to protect her.
28-year-old Victoria Amanda St. Hillaire was shot and killed on Monday (Nov. 25) outside of UNC Family Medicine where she worked on Mayfair Street in Durham.
St. Hillaire’s ex-boyfriend, 33-year-old Lequintin Raishawn Ford, has been named as the shooter in the incident. Police revealed that after killing St. Hillaire, Ford turned the gun on himself and took his own life.
Here are some things to know about the murder-suicide:
Police found both bodies in a parking lot outside of UNC Family Medicine.
According to reports, officers were called to the building’s parking lot Monday around 8 a.m. and found a man and woman shot dead.
The two bodies were later identified to be 28-year-old Victoria Amanda St. Hillaire and 33-year-old Lequintin Ford.
Police say that Ford showed up to St. Hillaire’s job and shot and killed her before turning the gun on himself.
Neighbors near the facility described hearing as many as nine gunshots.
UNC Health Care spokesman Phil Bridges said in a statement that St. Hillaire was a certified medical assistant and had been working at the clinic since September.
The clinic focuses on primary care and has roughly 35 employees.
Victoria St. Hillaire had a restraining order against Lequintin Ford and she’s called the police on him 30 times over the past two years.
Victoria St. Hillaire and Lequintin Ford had previously been in a relationship and dated off and on for 6 years.
Their relationship was described as very violent and volatile, with Ford being said to have been the abuser.
Over the past two years, police were dispatched to St. Hillaire’s home 30 times due to incidents involving Ford.
The calls included trespassing, prowler, communicating threats, malicious damaging and disturbance, ABC 11 reported.
In October, St. Hillaire filed a protection order against Ford in which she told authorities Ford was stalking and threatening her.
In the protection order, Hillaire also said that Ford had on one occasion beat her in the leg with a bat and choked her out. On another occasion, he threatened to commit suicide—a form of mental/psychological abuse.
The protection order was approved by the court, however, even with that being in place and Ford having to surrender his guns and wear an ankle monitor, he continued to harass and stalk St. Hillaire.
Court documents and arrest records show Ford continued to harass and stalk St. Hillaire and her family, and on Oct. 19, was accused of stalking them at the family’s home in Burlington.
The arrest warrant said Ford showed up at the home on Oct. 9 and repeatedly banged on the windows. He was charged Oct. 19 with breaking one of those windows and with three misdemeanor violations of the domestic violence protective order and three felony counts of stalking.
On Oct. 21, Ford was charged again with misdemeanor stalking after he followed St. Hillaire, rented a car and drove by her home at odd times of the night, and banged on the home’s windows, a record shows. He fled before police arrived, it said.
More charges were levied against Ford on Oct. 23 after he attempted to talk with St. Hillaire when her car broke down on the side of the road, records show.
The next day, he was charged again, this time with making harassing phone calls after he allegedly called St. Hillaire more than 40 times from a private number.
During a court hearing on October 28th, Ford and St. Hillaire both agreed to continue with the domestic violence protective order restrictions.
Ford was scheduled to have two upcoming hearings on December 11th and January 7th for his charges involving St. Hillaire over the past few months.
The charges included misdemeanor stalking, felony stalking, three counts of misdemeanor violation of a domestic protection order and misdemeanor making a harassing phone call.
St. Hillaire’s family believes police are also responsible for her death.
St. Hillaire’s family called police out for allowing Ford to be out on the streets knowing that he had been stalking/threatening her and had a violent past.
The family says that Ford should have been locked away a long time ago.
St. Hillaire’s sister, Melinda Renfrow, told ABC11: “I feel like he should have been put away a long, long time ago. And I don’t understand and I can’t comprehend or wrap my brain around how someone so mentally unstable with a history was not put away a long time ago.”
Renfrow also called Ford a coward and that she wanted him to suffer for his actions. “I think he’s a coward. I think he deserved to suffer,” she said.
Lequintin Ford has a violent criminal rap sheet.

Lequintin Ford was no stranger to violent charges and had been arrested in the past.
According to reports, he has been convicted of assault on a female and other charges in the past.
St. Hillaire’s family had no clue about Ford’s abusive past and didn’t find out until last year about his abusive ways with St. Hillaire.
Her family is now calling for all domestic violence victims to take a stand and get help before it’s too late.
Her sister Sasha St. Hillaire posted on Facebook:
“So I have not been able to share til now. RIP 11/25/19 My little sister Victoria Amanda St.Hillaire Trinasian Thai I’m so angry this happen to you. I love you. I pray you are in heaven now no more pain suffering.
“To all my friends and family my sister was a victim of domestic abuse. Please get help if you need to before it’s too late. I love you Vicki my baby girl I will always remember you as you were. You are forever with me in my heart.”
Silver’s post caused a lot of controversy in the comment section of his post from those who found his remarks inappropriate and out of pocket.
One social media user responded: “He killed that girl who cares!!! F**k him.”
Another user also called out those supporting Ford after he took an innocent woman’s life.
“So let me get this straight since this story has aired on tv, all I’ve seen on Fb is RIP to this son of bitch that killed this woman. That’s all I’ve seen when you type this maggot slob ass n***a name in the search engine on Fb.

R.I.P. Victoria St. Hillaire … Our prayers go out to her family, friends and loved ones.
Queen Key had plenty to be thankful for this Thanksgiving … so thankful her belly is filled with three mini turkeys.
In a lengthy, heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday (Nov. 28), the Chicago rapper announced to her fans that she is pregnant with triplets!
“I’m having triplets & I’m happy about it,” she wrote.
The post includes a video of Queen getting an ultrasound. The doctor explains that triplets are such a rarity that they only see about one or two cases a year and that IVF or other fertility treatments often account for the multiples.
However, in Queen’s case, her triplets were “spontaneous,” making them even more miraculous.
Queen wrote in part:
“I would’ve never thought me out of all people would be having kids… and triplets at that. God always shows me that I’m so strong, when i made my babies I was being irresponsible…. af, but they’re now my biggest responsibility, I can’t wait to see them, touch them, love them.”
Fans immediately began to speculate that rapper 600Breezy was the father. Breezy denied the claim, but Queen shot back and confirmed that Breezy IS the father of her triplets.
Breezy is currently dating Sky Days of Black Ink Crew. They just went public with their relationship last month.

Queen put them both on blast in a series of tweets and on Instagram Live, including shading Sky’s parenting.
I just hope mfs know they’re not going to be around my babies….. just legit sending checks… mfs betta put they money togetha ??
How tf u gone be a step mama & couldnt even take care of yo own kids …… & can’t have more cause u too damn old lmao breezy ass betta go play before i shut his whole life down lmao.
However, Sky says she wants no parts of the drama. She exclusively tells The Shade Room that she’s never spoken to Queen Key before and doesn’t know why the rapper is throwing so much hate her way.
“Breezy and her had whatever dealings BEFORE me…I wish her nothing but a happy and healthy pregnancy! The babies didn’t ask to come into negativity.”
Queen is still tweeting and subtweeting subtle jabs toward 600Breezy and Sky. However, she also says she’s fully focused on her babies.
Below, you can watch the first full episode of Key+3, Queen Key’s web series that will most likely document her entire pregnancy journey.
A dispute between a mother and daughter on Thanksgiving has left a North Carolina family heartbroken.
56-year-old Elvira Elizabeth Alexander was arrested on Nov. 28 for the murder of her 37-year-old daughter Chante Lavarche Alexander.
While there are very little details about the crime, here’s what we know so far:
Elvira Alexander shot and killed her daughter Chante on Thanksgiving night.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment on the 3300 block of Krupa Court in Charlotte, N.C.
When they arrived at the scene, they found 37-year-old Chante Avarche Alexander unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
Chante was taken to the hospital by authorities and was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Her mother, 56-year-old Elvira Elizabeth Alexander, is being held responsible for her death and has been charged with murder and possession of a stolen firearm.
Police have not released a motive for the crime.
Detectives are investigating a homicide in the 3300 block of Krupa Ct. The call for service came in at 9:37 p.m. on November 28, 2019.
While investigators are describing the incident as “domestic-related,” a motive for the crime has not been revealed.
Law enforcement is also asking anyone who knows anything about the case to contact the homicide unit detective with Charlotte-Mecklenburg police at (704) 432-TIPS.
A police spokesman also said it was unknown whether Chante’s mother Elvira Elizabeth Alexander has a lawyer who can speak on her behalf.
Chante appeared to be a fun girl on social media who often promoted fish frys at her mom’s house.
On August 30th, Chante posted on Facebook about a fish fry she and her mom were having.
Chante’s family remembers her as being the life of the party.
Chante’s family says she was always a joy and pleasure to be around.
One of her cousins posted a video on Facebook of her dancing and having a good time with the caption: “I love U Cuz Chante Lavarche Tha life of EVERY mf party FACTS!!”
T.I.’s invasive and extreme measures of safeguarding his teenage daughter’s hymen and virginity sparked a national conversation. With the tide mostly against the Atlanta rapper, two lawmakers now want to criminalize “virginity check-ups.”
New York state Sen. Roxanne Persaud and assemblywoman Michaelle Solages have introduced new legislation that would ban doctors from performing virginity examinations.
The bill states:
“These examinations are not only a violation of women’s and girls’ human rights, but in cases of rape, can cause additional pain and mimic the original act of sexual violence, leading to re-experience, re-traumatization and re-victimization.”
Licensed medical professionals performing or supervising the globally denounced practice would face professional misconduct penalties. And if performed in a non-medical setting, said person could be charged with sexual abuse, a class D felony.
“It’s misogynistic, it’s appalling…I was horrified to see this was happening,” Solages told The New York Post referring to T.I.’s comment about having the gynecologist to ensure his daughter’s hymen was intact.
“If a celebrity can impose his power to ensure his 18-year-old daughter gets checked, imagine what can be done in households across New York state?”
Tip and wife Tiny Harris appeared on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk earlier this week to address “hymengate” for the first time since the rapper made the controversial comments on the Ladies Like Us podcast.
T.I. stated that his comments began in a joking manner that went too far, but maintained that he was only trying to be a proactive parent.
He also clarified that he was never in the exam room during the gynecology appointments, but was made aware of the results.
“I think this surrounds a conversation I was having in a very joking manner. I just began to—from a place of truth—I began to embellish and exaggerate,” he said.
“I think people kinda took it extremely literal, because if you put any of my reputation… Who I am as a father, who I’ve been…I honestly thought people knew me better than that.”
It should also be noted that the United Nations and World Health Organization have both called for a global prohibition on these types of pelvic exams, which have been deemed unscientific and abusive.
Ray was previously on the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad, but was released earlier this month. He also spent a brief time on the Houston Texans practice squad and was released earlier this season.
Back in May, the 6-foot-3, 255-pound footballer was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Cleveland Browns upon graduating Boston College and was among the team’s final cuts during training camp.
With a solid college football career, Ray’s inability to find a steady NFL home has been somewhat unexpected.
“The fact Ray went undrafted is a shock in itself considering he was viewed as a Day 3 talent by most outlets and he had a more than solid career at Boston College,” Josh Keatley of Brownswire wrote at the time of Ray’s Browns signing
“He certainly has enough traits to develop into a quality starter in the NFL,” Keatley added.
