Chris Brown Released From Jail After Posting $250K Bail, Get the Latest Details on His Arrest

After an intense Tuesday with LAPD, Chris Brown is out of jail. The singer was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He was released early Wednesday morning (Aug. 31.) after posting $250,000 bail.

His lawyer Mark Geragos confirmed his release with a tweet. Brown also reposted the tweet via his Instagram account.

The hip hop star was also subjected to a drug test while in custody. Though the results are unknown, during his standoff with police, he reportedly threw a duffel bag out the window which contained drugs. However, he wasn’t arrested for drug possession.

Brown was arrested after a woman named Baylee Curran accused him of pulling a gun on her. According to her, the incident was ignited after she admired a piece of jewelry and refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Some reports claim Brown and his friends thought she was trying to steal the jewelry.

Interestingly, Curran was suspected of grand larceny in 2013. She allegedly stole a $1,000 Louis Vuitton purse while in a hotel lobby. As security chased her down the street, she dropped the purse but stole some of the contents inside.

Curran says her friend was the thief, not her. However, the victim still filed a restraining order against Curran.

Brown’s court date is scheduled for September 20th.

Turns Out Tim Tebow Can’t Hit a Real Pitch and His Baseball Showcase Was a “Complete Waste of Time”

Tuesday (Aug. 30) marked the day that Tim Tebow got the opportunity to prove to 40 Major League Baseball scouts and 50 members of the media that he has what it takes to play professional baseball. The result? A “complete waste of time,” according to one American League scout.

Tebow was put through the usual drills — running, throwing, catching. You know, boring baseball stuff. And while he was at least somewhat impressive in his 60 yard dash, everything else was pretty ho-hum.

His throws were weak, according to certain scouts, and he didn’t have the best tracking ability in the outfield despite catching all the popups. Where he really failed to impress, though, was, not surprisingly, the batter’s box.

Prior to yesterday, videos had surfaced of Tebow’s swing in the batting cage where he was hitting solid line drives on a regular basis. And during his showcase, that success in batting practice continued. He knocked a few out of the park and demonstrated some impressive strength.

But honestly, everyone looks good in batting practice. We can all step into a batting cage and connect more often than not. The reason? We know damn well where the ball is going to go and at what speed. So if every major league pitcher just threw a 90 mph fastball right down the middle every time, well then Tebow might have a decent shot in the majors.

Unfortunately for him, they don’t. Hitting a professionally thrown pitch is one of the hardest things to do in sports, and it was proven true when Tebow stepped into the batter’s box against ex-MLB pitchers. When facing off against them, Tebow struggled with off-speed pitches, curving throws, and varying fastballs. Of the roughly 60 pitches he saw, he might’ve managed to get on base once or twice.

And really, unless you are a great pitcher, hitting is one of the most important things for MLB players. Not to diminish what they do, but there are a large number of people who can catch a fly ball or make a play at first. It’s what you do in the batter’s box that really separates the big leaguers from the good baseball players.

If yesterday was any indication, that means Tim Tebow doesn’t have what it takes. He says he will play in the minors or other lesser leagues in an attempt to ultimately earn a spot on a MLB roster, but after watching him perform, most are in agreement: this looked more like a publicity stunt than a MLB prospect trying out.

In an attempt to put the Rio fiasco behind him, American swimmer Ryan Lochte has joined season 23 (have there really already been that many seasons?) of Dancing With The Stars. The cast has been released and it was revealed that longtime ballroom dancer Cheryl Burke would be returning to the show to partner up with the controversial swimmer.

But the only reason people outside of the show’s fans are really talking about this moment is the way Lochte was gazing at his new dance partner during a Good Morning America segment.

No one knows exactly what is on Lochte’s mind as he stares creepily at Burke, but to me, that’s the look of one thirsty man. It’s either that or he’s a serial killer and is planning his next attack.

I for one can’t blame him. Cheryl Burke is a beautiful lady with some killer dance moves, but you can’t go staring at someone like that in public, let alone when you’re in front of the GMA cameras.

I guess we’ll have to wait until the show kicks off to see how the two’s chemistry is and if this new side of Ryan Lochte will do anything to help clear his tarnished reputation. Until then, though, take a drink Lochte and quit looking so damn thirsty.

Feel Good Story of The Day: FSU Football Player Enjoys Lunch With Autistic Boy Who Was Eating Alone

Keeping up with the news can be a depressing venture. It seems like anytime you browse the internet, watch news on the TV, or listen to the radio, it’s nothing but bad things being reported. And while there are certainly a number of unfortunate events happening across the world, there’s just as many good things that happen and never go noticed.

Take, for example, a simple yet kind act made by Travis Rudolph, a wide receiver for Florida State University. Yesterday, some of FSU’s players visited a middle school in Tallahassee where Bo Paske goes to school.

Bo just entered middle school and is struggling socially, mainly due to the fact that he suffers from autism. His mother, Leah, says that she “remember(s) middle school being scary, and hard. Now that I have a child starting middle school, I have feelings of anxiety for him, and they can be overwhelming if I let them.”

Every parent wants the best for their child, but it can be difficult when you know you can’t shield him/her from all of the negativity in the world. So imagine how happy Leah was when she received the following picture.

That is Travis enjoying his lunch with Bo, who was alone at the lunch table. The simple act went a long way, though. As Leah explains in a Facebook post, when she saw the picture she, “had tears streaming down my face…I’m not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I’m happy to say it will not soon be forgotten.”

The 20-year-old, along with four other football players, was visiting the school to meet with the students when he saw Bo, a sixth grader, eating lunch all by himself. “I asked could I sit with him and he said, ‘Sure, why not?'” Rudolph told Seminoles.com. “He told me his name was Bo, how much he loves Florida State. And we went from there.”

Rudolph said one of Bo’s first questions to him was if he was in the NFL, to which he replied, “Not yet.”

Rudolph told Tallahassee’s WCTV in a later interview that he and Bo had a “great convo,” and he called Bo a “great kid overall.” He added, “Honestly that’s a cool person. I’ll hang out with him any day.”

After hearing about the photo going viral on Facebook and how it touched Bo’s mother’s heart, Rudolph said he was close to tears and invited Bo and his family to join him for an FSU football game this season.

Jimbo Fisher, FSU’s head football coach, said he was “extremely proud” that Rudolph “made some young man’s day.”

“You can affect people in a lot of ways. That’s the way you affect people,” Fisher told the Orlando Sentinel. “Make somebody’s day by being yourself, and going and spreading the word, and understanding the impact you have as an athlete and role model to people in the community.”

Sometimes it doesn’t take much to change someone’s day. A simple gesture, like enjoying lunch with a lonely kid, speaks volumes about the man Travis Rudolph is and goes a long way in both Bo and Leah’s life.

Stanford Rapist Brock Turner to Be Released From Jail 3 Months Early for “Good Behavior

Three months ago a Stanford student made headlines across the country for raping an unconscious classmate. And while the act alone is gruesome enough to warrant national attention, it was the incredibly lenient sentence that garnered the ire of the public. The judge in the case decided to ignore the prosecution’s request for a 6-year sentence and instead gave Brock Turner a measly 6 months.

Well, today that 6 months was shortened to 3 months as Turner is set to be released on Friday (Sep. 2). According to The New York Post, he is being let out after serving half his already shortened time due to “good behavior.”

The fact that this guy can rape an unconscious woman and then be set free on the streets after a mere three months makes you wonder about our justice system. Undoubtedly, the fact that he is a white, college educated man plays a part, but even then, the sentence and early release is ridiculous.

The judgment was so bad, Aaron Persky (the judge who sentenced Turner) has had jurors refuse to serve under him and was taken off a different sexual assault case.

The news comes the same day President Obama has commuted the sentence of 111 prisoners with his clemency authority. Obama has by far been the strongest proponent amongst presidents to use this power, mainly using it to free or shorten convictions for people who suffered unfairly long sentences for nonviolent drug arrests.

Many of those being helped by Obama were not afforded the same luxuries that Turner had growing up and have therefore been punished much more harshly by the law. There are many life sentences for intent to distribute, and unlike Turner, who only had to serve months, most have spent the majority of their lives in prison.

All I can hope is that despite his early release, Brock Turner continues to pay for his heinous actions. And while I wish he would be cast out as a pariah, unable to get a great job or form a real relationship with a woman, with the way he’s been treated since this all started, I somehow don’t think that will be the case.

After a stand-off with LAPD that lasted hours, Brown has been taken into police custody and could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Brown is now on his way to the police station to be processed.

The possible felony charge comes after police were granted a search warrant to search his home while the singer waited outside. Brown seemed to in good spirits as he talked with police (with his lawyer present) and didn’t seem too bothered.

He even waved to media helicopters gathering aerial footage multiple times. Clearly the situation was more serious than he was letting on.

Brown’s arrest is connected to an incident that allegedly occurred at his home early Tuesday morning (Aug. 30). Beauty queen, Baylee Curran, claimed Brown pulled a gun on her after an argument over jewelry.

Though she was an uninvited guest in his home, she also reportedly refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Curran called the police after the incident, and LAPD and SWAT have surrounded his house ever since.

T-Pain’s 23-Year-Old Niece Stabbed to Death, Rapper Asks for Information About Murder via Social Media

Another celebrity has suffered the tragic loss of a loved one. T-Pain’s niece, Javona Glover, was fatally stabbed outside a Tallahassee Walgreens earlier today (Aug. 30).

Glover was only 23 and was the mother of a 2-year-old daughter. Police arrived on the scene around 10:30 am and found her bleeding heavily. Unfortunately, she passed away before she could be treated at a hospital.

The killer is still on the loose. The Tallahassee Police Department released details about the suspect. They are looking for a “5-foot, 9-inch black male weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and white tennis shoes,” reports XXLmag.com.

Dwyane Wade’s 32-year-old cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was shot and killed last Friday (Aug. 26) in Chicago while pushing her 3-week-old baby in a stroller. She was caught in the crossfire of a shooting and police have arrested and charged two men in her murder.

Nick Young Begs Chris Brown to Move After SWAT & Helicopters Swarm Neighborhood

Chris Brown made headlines earlier today as he was held up in his house with authorities reportedly prepared to place him under arrest. However, Brown’s neighbors do not appreciate chaos and Nick Young wants his friend to pack his bags.

LAPD and SWAT have surrounded Brown’s Tarzana, CA home since early Tuesday morning (Aug. 30). The situation has also attracted media outlets and helicopters.

“Chris, you gotta move,” Young addressed his neighbor via Instagram video. He said Brown is “making the block hot” and may cause problems for the few black people living in the upscale neighborhood.

“There’s really only two of us [black people] over here … at this rate you gonna make it one… Please, I like you, man. You my dawg. We go out, but you go out away from over here… go!”

Young was obviously joking, he even included #YouKnowImPlaying in his post’s caption. However, I’m sure having helicopters and authorities swarm your usually quiet neighborhood is an unsettling annoyance, especially if you’re a person of color.

Unfortunately, Nick will probably have to deal with this issue for a little while longer. Brown briefly spoke with police (with his lawyer) and may be arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman.

UPDATE: Chris Brown Has Been Arrested!

Things are definitely getting serious regarding Chris Brown’s latest run-in with the police. TMZ is now reporting Brown will most likely be arrested and his attorney, Mark Geragos, has arrived on the scene.

LAPD and SWAT surrounded Brown’s house early Tuesday morning after a woman claimed he threatened her with a gun. Brown would not exit his home or allow police to enter.

While a search warrant was reportedly being issued, Brown threw a duffle bag out the window and reportedly yelled, “Come and get me!” The bag contained a gun, other weapons, and drugs.

Baylee Curan, a beauty pageant queen, made the allegations and has exclusively spoken to TMZ, which also originally broke the story.

Curran claims Brown became angry after she admired a piece of jewelry and refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement. He then allegedly demanded her to leave while pointing a gun at her.

Ray J was also present at the time of the incident. He attempted to leave after cops were called, but was handcuffed and questioned once police arrived. Though his car was seized, he was eventually let go. TMZ reported he used an Uber to get home.

Another day, another wild Chris Brown story. Early Tuesday morning (Aug. 30), a woman claimed Brown threatened her with a gun. And now LAPD and the SWAT team are surrounding Brown’s house.

Brown has not exited his house since the police arrived, but they are trying to communicate with him. The LAPD are also reportedly requesting a search warrant to look for a gun matching the description the woman gave.

The singer, who has had several run-ins with the law and authorities in recent years, apparently just woke up to the chaos. He has posted a few Instagram videos blasting the police and media for covering the story.

The allegation stems from an incident that occurred early Tuesday morning. Brown had several friends at his house, including Ray J. Two women showed up uninvited and were asked to leave.

At that point, the story gets murky. The guests included a man who was invited, and two women who were not — one of the women who’d been asked to leave is the one who made the police report, claiming Brown pulled the gun on her. Someone inside the house insists Chris was asleep the whole time.

At some point Ray J left the house and when he got to the base of the driveway, police handcuffed him and seized his BMW. They checked his ID, uncuffed him and let him go, but kept his car as evidence. He Ubered home.

Ray J has not commented on the matter and by the looks and sound of his videos, Chris truly doesn’t know what’s going on. This story is developing, but this could turn out to be Brown’s worst run-in with the law yet.

Rodney Harrison Doesn’t Think Colin Kaepernick Understands Racial Injustice Because “He’s Not Black”

Former NFL safety Rodney Harrison is the latest to join in the discussion on Colin Kaepernick’s decision to protest the racial injustices in America by not standing during the National Anthem. Harrison agrees with the anti-Kaepernick crew, but for very different reasons than most.

“I tell you this, I’m a black man. And Colin Kaepernick – he’s not black,” Harrison said during an interview on iHeartRadio Tuesday morning. “He can not understand what I face and what other young black men and black people face, or people of color face, on a every single (day) basis.”

Harrison’s issue with Kaepernick’s protest isn’t that the protest is unwarranted or he’s going about it the wrong way; rather, it’s that he doesn’t believe Kaepernick truly understands the struggle due to the fact that he has a white biological mother and was adopted by two white parents.

“When you walk in a grocery store, and you might have $2,000 or $3,000 in your pocket and you go up in to a Foot Locker and they’re looking at you like you about to steal something,” Harrison said. “You know, I don’t think he faces those type of things that we face on a daily basis.”

Kaepernick may not agree. Despite his mixed racial background, America still views him as a man of color. The evidence is clearly on his Twitter account which has been flooded with racial slurs after his protest went viral.

And this isn’t the first time Kaepernick has faced racial adversity (sadly, obviously). He has been seen and treated as a black man since his early childhood.

But Rodney Harrison doesn’t seem to care about all that. “I’m not saying he has to be black,” he said, “but I’m saying his heart is in the right place, but even with what he’s doing, he still doesn’t understand the injustices as a black man, or people of color, that’s what I’m saying.”

During the Olympics, USA Women Soccer’s goal keeper Hope Solo made headlines when she criticized the Swedish team following a loss. Solo, it turns out, did not appreciate the Swedes reserved tactics in a match that resulted in the US being knocked out of the games, referring to them as “a bunch of cowards.”

That was apparently enough for Solo to be receive a 6-month suspension and have her contract terminated with the US women’s soccer team. A video surfaced today of the moment Solo discovered her fate.

U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati said, “The comments made by Hope Solo after the match against Sweden during the 2016 Olympics were unacceptable and do not meet the standard of conduct we require from our National Team players.”

I get that a player should not go out and insult another country’s team or players, but to kick Hope Solo off of the team, after she has dedicated the last 17 years to them, for calling her opponents cowards seems a bit harsh.

There was no vulgarity. There was no violence. There was no vandalizing a bathroom and fabricating a story. It was just one player who was upset following a major loss and said something she probably shouldn’t have.

But the reaction by US Soccer comes across as overreacting in my opinion. Now, perhaps some of Solo’s past actions played a part (this isn’t the first time she’s gotten in trouble), but if that’s the case they should have made it clear.

Regardless of their reasoning, it’s clear from the video that Solo ain’t too pleased with their ruling.

Chance the Rapper Hilariously Reacts to Beyoncé Crashing His VMA Interview

What would you do if you were an up and coming rapper, you’re in the middle of an interview with MTV backstage at the VMAs, and Beyoncé walks up right behind you and grabs your arm? Well, that happened to Chance the Rapper, and his reaction was priceless.

During an interview with MTV News, Chance was talking about how he was coming for Drake’s muscles when Beyoncé walked right up and grabbed him from behind. He didn’t seem fazed at first, that is, until he realized who touched him.

“Oh my God, that was ‘Yonce!” the 23-year-old rapper screamed before running over to talk to her.

Queen Bey, being the polite person that she is, also made sure to converse with the interviewer as well. They bonded over both being Virgos and Bey even complimented her on her tattoos.

“This my life, n**ga!” Chance said to the camera after Yoncé left. “That just happened!” the MTV correspondent said.

The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards should have been called the Beyoncé Music Awards (or, BeyMAs, for short) considering she took home 8 moonmen for Lemonade AND performed half the album in a show-stopping medley. She also turned heads on the red carpet, where she posed for pics with her daughter Blue Ivy and the mothers of Oscar Grant, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Mike Brown.

NY Jets Quarterback Geno Smith Says He Has Zero Friends

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith hasn’t had the best of luck in his NFL career. In his three years in the league, the second round draft pick has amassed less than stellar numbers: 58% completion, more interceptions than touchdowns, and a paltry 72.3 QB rating. Needless to say, things haven’t been going great for Geno on the field.

But it looks like things haven’t been going great for him off the field either. After serving as a placeholder starting QB as the Jets negotiated with their real starter, Ryan Fitzpatrick, it looks like they’re ready to get rid of Geno.

Before he can get traded, however, Smith has to deal with his own team’s fans booing him during their preseason games. And on top of that, apparently Geno isn’t the most liked man in the locker room, either.

Just last year, Geno missed part of the season after having his jaw broken in the locker room by a fellow teammate (all over $600). And it seems things haven’t gotten any better for the Jets bench player.

While answering questions by reporters last weekend, Smith was photographed proudly sporting a hat playing off of the TV show Friends logo. But instead of actually having friends, his hat was embroidered with a “zero” before the friends portion.

Yup, Geno Smith is letting the world know he doesn’t have any friends. Zero. Nada. Sin amigos. Hopefully for him those trade rumors prove to be true and he can maybe find a friend in his new city.

Tinashe Shocks Us With a Spot-on Britney Spears Impression

Some singers like to channel Julie Andrews and use the standard Do-Re-Mi scale to warm up their vocal chords. Tinashe, apparently prefers a different technique. While being interviewed on the VMA white carpet, the singer admitted she’s partial to a Britney Spears vocal.

“Usually, for me, it comes with singing a little bit of Britney Spears. That’s usually my go-to warm-up.”

Tinashe most likely jokingly said this because Spears’ highly-anticipated VMA comeback performance was something she was looking forward to seeing during the show. However, she did give us a rather impressive Britney impersonation.

Britney Spears is not necessarily known for giving us the greatest vocals, but she definitely does have an instantly recognizable voice. Tinashe actually captures it well and it’s always great to see the influence Spears has had on other performers. I’m sure she’s quite flattered by the 23-year-old’s impression.

Unfortunately, Tinashe did not take her talents to the VMA stage. However, she has recently been linked to DJ Calvin Harris, who took home 2 coveted Moonmen.

Maybe Harris, Tinashe, and Spears and could all collaborate together. The DJ constantly churns out hits and Britney Spears and Calvin Harris actually seems like a perfect match.

Gladys Knight Sues Son Over “Chicken & Waffles” Restaurant Chain

Whoa! Gladys Knight is not playing any games. The legendary soul singer has sued her own son to sever her association with his Gladys Knight’s Signature Chicken & Waffles restaurant chain.

Knight allowed her son, Shanga Hankerson, to use her name and fame to grow his business back in 1999. However, Hankerson was recently arrested for tax evasion. He’s accused of stealing $650,000 in sales and reportedly owes the IRS nearly $1 million.

Other than the use of her name, Knight has nothing to do with the business and is not suspected of any wrongdoing. Two of the chicken and waffle joints are now under new management (the third location permanently closed down Aug. 21) and she no longer wants to be associated with the chain. Knight wants her image and name removed from signs/promotions and she wants all of her memorabilia returned.

There haven’t been many updates since authorities raided the eateries and arrested Hankerson in June. Though an exposé released in July revealed Hankerson allegedly spent the stolen money on sex parties and to support his marijuana habit.

The same report also claims he often shorted employees in pay and they were forced to work in unsafe conditions.

Benzino Refuses to Snitch on Nephew That Shot Him Despite Nephew’s Confession

Benzino ain’t no snitch. The producer gave an interview with VladTV and briefly discussed his nephew’s upcoming trial. Gai Scott was recently convicted of shooting Benzino in 2014, yet the former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star refuses to confirm Scott as the shooter.

Zino testified to the grand jury and maintains that he doesn’t know who shot him. Scott was only taken into custody because he confessed to the crime. Zino refuses to “snitch,” not just because Scott’s family, but because he abides by the rules of the street he grew up with.

“If you sit there and say yea he shot me, and he gonna do 100 years, that’s snitching on him… the reason why that code is so important is because when you’re in the streets, and you’re doing dirt you don’t want people snitching on you… We’re living in some f**ked up times right now when I grew up it was different; you would get f**ked up royally for snitching.”

While he’s totally against snitching, he concedes that sharing information to authorities or the court may be beneficial for those who don’t live the street life.

Shockingly, he also shares that his no-snitching mentality may have been influenced by his father. According to Benzino, his father, who served 20-25 years in prison, had major ties to the Italian, Irish, and Columbian Mafias.

Though Scott confessed and his lawyer is building a self-defense argument, don’t expect Benzino to help the prosecution any time soon.

Charles Barkley Speaks Out on Ezekiel Elliott and Weed: “That’s Just Stupid, Man…”

I love it when Charles Barkley talks. You know as soon as that mouth opens something crazy or stupid (or more likely both) is about to come out. Last Friday, Barkley spoke to CSNPhilly about Ezekiel Elliot’s trip to a Seattle dispensary. And in true Barkley fashion, the dude was hatin’.

“That’s just stupid, man,” Barkley said. “He’s got to be smarter than that. I mean, that’s just stupid. It’s like Ryan Lochte, that’s just stupid.”

I get the feeling that Charles thinks that was a stupid move. Call me crazy. So it turns out Barkley doesn’t support Elliott’s little sightseeing trip to Herban Legend (which, what a great name). And you might be thinking it’s just because ole Chuck’s looking out for the young buck’s best interest. Turns out, it’s mostly because he doesn’t like weed.

“Come on, man. You gotta be smarter than that. I’m not a marijuana guy. I smoked pot like five times in my life. All it made me want to do was eat potato chips. It was like a waste of my time. I didn’t feel no euphoria, it didn’t take me to no special place. I just said, ‘do we have any more potato chips in the state of Alabama or Pennsylvania.'”

Yeah, weed does give you the munchies, but if that’s all you experienced, you’re probably doing it wrong or you were smoking some reggie, Charles.

Regardless, it’s obvious that Ezekiel Elliott hasn’t earned the backing of Barkley quite like Draymond Green (who can do no wrong in his eyes, apparently) has, but it’s early in his career, so we’ll see how it all turns out in good time.

In the meantime, if you’re partying it up with Charles Barkley, you best protect your chips, ‘cuz he’s coming for them.

Power Season 3 Episode 7 Recap: Ghost Is No Longer In Control, Has Lost All of His “Power”

The last episode of Power ended with Lobos being killed, Ghost finding out his security guy Dean is actually the Serbian drug lord Milan who he stole a shipment from last season, and Angela taking her breakup with Ghost very badly.

This episode focuses on Ghost having to work to pay back Milan, Kanan getting closer to having Ghost exactly where he wants him, and Lobos’ task force being investigated over his transfer being leaked. Based on Ghost’s current situation, it looks like he is literally losing all of his “power.”

Here are some things to know about Power Season 3 Episode 7, “Don’t Go”:

1. Angela’s sister Paz hates Ghost’s guts more than ever

It’s no secret Paz isn’t a fan of Ghost and has been doubting his relationship with Angela since day one. When she finds out Ghost called things off with Angela, she doesn’t seem surprised at the news and assures Angela she will find somebody much better than Ghost.

Later when Ghost stops by Angela’s apartment to pick up a few things, Paz scolds Ghost for leaving Angela out of the blue and blames him for her not thinking straight the past few days. Paz also threatens to kill Ghost if he ever sees Angela again (i’m sure he’s not too concerned about those threats) and takes his key to Ang’s place.

2. Kanan is keeping a very close eye on Tommy and Ghost

Kanan has been trying his best to keep tabs on Ghost, mainly by bullying Andre around and forcing him to find out what’s going on with Ghost and report back to him. Early on in the episode when Tommy and Ghost get in Milan’s car to talk business, Kanan watches from afar while sipping on some dirty sprite (a.k.a. lean).

He later finds out from Andre about Milan taking over Ghost’s business, and after he kills an old lady (for no apparent reason) and finds an apparently familiar hole in her wall, he tells Andre that he is going to give Ghost a history lesson. Whatever that means…

3. Tommy still has beef with Andre

Tommy and Andre haven’t been on the best of terms ever since Andre pulled a gun on Tommy to defend Ghost in last season’s finale. Andre also took Tommy’s place as Ghost’s sidekick and right hand man, so it makes sense why there’s animosity between these two.

Now that Tommy is back working with Ghost, he wants Andre nowhere near him or their drug operations. He lets Ghost know up front that he won’t be working with that “Tony the Tiger looking motherfucker” and shuts down Andre’s attempt to make amends over the situation that played out last season. Yep, Tommy ain’t feelin’ ya boy.

4. Tariq is long overdue for an old school butt whoopin

Tariq has really, really lost his damn mind. Bringing the gun to school was enough, but now he is cursing/talking back to Tasha and Ghost (like he ain’t too old to still get that azz whooped). He calls Tasha a “fucking liar” when she tells him she doesn’t hate Ghost and moves her hand out the way like he’s big and bad when she goes to smack the piss out of him. Tasha must be getting too comfortable living that luxurious lifestyle because if they were still at the bottom, Tariq would have definitely gotten that well-deserved beatdown.

Later when Ghost has a father-son talk with Tariq and tells him he has to apologize to his mother, Tariq grows some very huge balls and tells Ghost “so you want me to apologize like I did to your side bitch right.” This causes Ghost to lose every bit of calm in his body, and explode on Tariq. He snatches Tariq up and yells at him, “What the fuck did you just say to me little motherfucker?!” The only other time I’ve ever seen Ghost this mad was when Shawn tried to kill him last season. Tariq definitely didn’t see that one coming. Hell, even Ghost felt bad afterward.

5. The DOJ is investigating Lobos’ task force

The DOJ has launched an investigation to find out who leaked information on Lobos’ transfer and the Lobos’ task force is being drilled like a nail on the wall. Mike is investigated because he has been working the Lobos case longer than any other AUSA agent. Greg was the only one to survive the shooting last episode and has it out for Angela, which makes him questionable.

Angela is connected to James St. Patrick a.k.a. Ghost and is known for breaking the rules to get what she wants, which makes her look like like a suspect. Even Saxe and Donovan get hounded about their connection to the case, but it’s clear that they aren’t thought to be involved. The feds give Mike (who is the actual person they are looking for…SMH) an opportunity to be in the clear if he helps them, so he throws Angela under the bus. Greg also throws Angela under the bus and guarantees investigators she is involved.

6. Tommy is losing all respect for Ghost

With Holly dead and Milan now running their lives, Tommy doesn’t have much hope or faith in anything, especially Ghost. He thinks Ghost is weak for allowing Milan to take over his business and make him deal in his club. Tommy also disagrees with Ghost’s plan to follow Milan’s orders and pay him by the end of the day.

Tommy tells Ghost that he’s not paying upfront for an untested product and that he doesn’t care what Milan says, Ghost is not his boss and he will handle matters his own way. Tommy also gives Ghost flack for not taking his advice and killing Angela.

7. Kanan puts the pressure on Andre

With Kanan on him like white on rice, Andre has been trying to get any information he can get out of Ghost that could possibly save his life. The only problem is, for most of the episode, Ghost leaves Andre in the dark and doesn’t allow him in on the Milan situation. When Andre isn’t able to bring Kanan any new info, Kanan starts to think he is playing him and snatches him up outside of Truth as he takes the trash out.

Kanan accuses Andre of lying to him about Ghost and Tommy working together. Andre convinces Kanan that Ghost has been keeping secrets from him and has left him out in the cold. Kanan gives Andre one more shot to make things right with him, but doesn’t give him a lot of time.

Andre later goes to Ghost’s office and begs him to let him back in on the street business, and this time Ghost doesn’t refuse. Ghost tells Andre everything about Milan and offers him the street business in return for his help taking down Milan. The first thing Ghost instructs Andre to do is make an anonymous tip about a missing person, who turns out to be Tatiana.

Andre calls Kanan (while he is in the middle of killing an old lady) and tells him about Milan taking over Ghost’s business. Kanan seems like he is satisfied with the news Andre brought him this time.

8. Tasha refuses to give Ghost money to pay Karen

In order to pay Milan, Ghost is going to be short on the cash to land his deal with Karen Bassett. Without a choice, he goes to Tasha and asks her to cosign a loan from the IRA and the kids’ trust fund so he can pay Karen. Ghost assures Tasha he will pay the money back, but she isn’t taking any chances with their children’s future and tells him to get the money from his boo Angela instead, who she says has “all that lawyer money.” Ghost breaks the news to Tasha that he and Angela are no longer together, but even this doesn’t change Tasha’s mind. She’s pretty much over being of any assistance to Ghost and his bullshit.

9. Ghost chooses to pay Milan over Karen

After taking Ghost and Tommy to a warehouse where he tied a chain around the neck of one of his own men, choked him to death, and snapped his neck, Milan demands that Ghost have a cashier’s check made out to his company with the full cost of the product he stole by the end of the day. This leaves Ghost in a conundrum because he also has to pay Karen in order to land the hotel deal.

Later when Ghost meets with Karen and her father, he asks for more time to make the payment to them, however he is rudely informed by Karen’s father that this won’t work. Karen’s father tells Ghost that his stockholders are expecting to “hear certain numbers” on his earning report at the end of the quarter and he can’t deliver without the money Ghost promised to deliver. Karen’s father tells Ghost, “It’s clear you’re in no financial shape to join our group.” Though at this point Karen’s father has given up on Ghost, Karen gives him until the end of the day to get them the money.

Ghost knows that he doesn’t have a choice in this situation and has to miss out on the deal with Karen to pay Milan, who has access to everything — his family, clubs, Angela, etc. After Ghost finds Milan at his home with his wife and kids, he pays him the money he owes him, only to find out Milan still has more orders for him. He wants Ghost to sell drugs for him in his clubs and he isn’t taking no for an answer. Milan also wants Ghost to still try to make the deal with Karen Bassett, even though because of him Ghost wasn’t able to get the contract.

10. Tasha lies to Angela about her and Ghost having sex

Angela is getting way too comfortable with popping up at Tasha’s place. She shows up unexpectedly for the second time and demands that Tasha tell her whether or not she was with Ghost at Karen Bassett’s hotel on the night Lobos was killed. Angela tells Tasha that if she doesn’t tell her the truth she can be charged as an accomplice in a conspiracy to commit murder and could lose her kids and home.

While at first it looks like Tasha is going to fall for Angela’s antics, Tasha doesn’t snitch on Ghost and tells Angela that Ghost was with her the whole night having husband and wife make up sex. Tasha says Ghost was hitting that thang so good that he almost broke her back. “You know how it is,” she says.

Angela is upset to hear the news and asks Tasha how could she take Ghost back after everything that happened. Tasha gladly reminds Angela that she is still Ghost’s wife and the mother of his children, before shoulder bumping her and walking off.

11. Tasha tells Tommy that Holly was pregnant

Tasha still has no clue that Tommy killed Holly and thinks that they broke up over her being pregnant. When Tommy stops by to pick up a check at Tasha’s place, she asks Tommy, “Why did you do that to Holly?” and tells him that Ghost told her “what happened.”

At first it seems like she knows about Holly’s murder and even Tommy looks like he is ready to go kill Ghost for telling his deepest darkest secret, but Tasha clears things up when she mentions Holly being pregnant and Tommy leaving her for this reason. Tommy is shocked to hear the news and, with tears in his eyes, he tries to play it off like he knew about the pregnancy before awkwardly getting in the elevator and leaving.

12. Tommy gets his ass kicked by like 10 dudes

Tommy goes back to the place where Ghost buried Holly’s body and drunk talks with her. Milan’s people find Tommy there and take him back to the warehouse where he has to fight like ten other guys, street fighter style. At first Tommy throws a few punches, but he eventually gives up and lets the men beat the living hell out of him before Milan intervenes.

Tommy, at this point, has no fight in him whatsoever (mentally and physically) and wants to die. He tells Milan to hurry and kill him, but Milan sees something in Tommy. He tells Tommy that he has nothing to lose and this is the best time to be alive.

13. Tommy makes the priest stop selling guns

In addition to demanding Ghost have a cashier’s check by the end of the day to pay back for the drugs he stole, Milan also orders Tommy to kill father Callahan, the dirty priest. Callahan runs guns for the Albanians and Milan sees this as a problem. Tommy tells Milan that killing the priest will be bad for business and refuses to carry out the hit.

Tommy later visits the priest and tells him that he has to stop selling guns. The priest doesn’t want to comply with Tommy’s wishes, but when Tommy puts a gun on him and tells him to let him do this one good thing, he agrees.

14. Kanan kills an old lady with a “Jesus Saves” throw pillow

Kanan has really taken this whole bad guy thing to a whole nother level. It’s bad enough that he killed his son Shawn last season and was about to throw Andre’s young daughter out of a window if he didn’t agree to help him get back at Ghost. But the fact that he kills an old lady for no reason at all is just ridiculous.

Kanan helps the elderly woman in her home, which we find out is where “an old friend” of his used to live. Before they get all the way inside, he pushes the old lady to the ground and smothers her to death with a throw pillow with the phrase “Jesus Saves” sewn into it. Just ruthless…

15. Milan ambushes Ghost at Tasha’s place

After jacking up Tariq and spazzing on him, Ghost goes to Tasha’s place to find Milan is there interacting with his family. Milan also has Tatiana with him and they plan on staying for dinner. Tasha scolds Ghost for not telling her he was having people over for dinner at her house, but little does she know that Ghost had nothing to do with this. Ghost is not only shocked to see Milan intruding into his family life, but he’s also shocked to be seeing Tatiana alive, who he thought was dead after he went to her house to kill her and found blood everywhere.

Milan informs Ghost that he knew that he was looking for Tatiana and put out an anonymous tip. Milan also sits Ghost’s kids at the dinner table as if they are his own and gives a short speech about the importance of family. With everything all happening at once, Ghost just stands there in a trance looking like the Mr. Krabs meme, until Milan instructs him to have dinner with the rest of them.

After dinner, Ghost gives Milan the cashier’s check to pay him back for the drugs he stole. Milan tells Ghost that he made the right decision to pay him instead of Karen and also informs Ghost that he will be selling drugs out of his clubs. When Ghost refuses to follow Milan’s orders, he reminds him that he can take everything and everyone he loves away from him. Before leaving, Milan lights a cigarette right in front of Ghost’s face (SO DISRESPECTFUL!) and Ghost gives him a death stare to die for. Tatiana returns to his side and jokes about how Ghost looks every time he sees her.

As soon as Milan and Tatiana leave, Ghost takes Tasha outside (because there are eyes and everywhere) and tells her about Milan and how dangerous he is. Tasha asks Ghost if Milan is bigger than Kanan, and he informs her that he is on a whole ‘nother level than Kanan. Ghost also tells Tasha that he thinks that he has a way to take Milan down and keep them safe. Could it have something to do with Milan being a cigarette smoker? We all know how much Ghost pays attention to detail.

16. Ghost doesn’t tell Angela the truth about Lobos

At the end of the episode, Angela visits Ghost at his new place to confront him about Lobos’ murder. She believes Ghost is responsible and tries to get him to confess, but Ghost acts like he has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about. Angela tells Ghost that she could go to jail behind the ordeal and, even worse, could get the death penalty, however he still doesn’t break. This really hurts Angela and she tells Ghost that he never loved her. Ghost tells Angela he will somehow fix the situation, but he doesn’t know anything about Lobos’ transfer being leaked or his murder. Angela tells him to find out who did it and leaves all frustrated.

The moment we were all not-so-secretly waiting for almost happened, but didn’t.

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” Drake said while presenting Rihanna with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs. The two have long been rumored to be an item and some thought (including me) this would be the night they made it official.

As he handed her the award, the rapper seemed to lean in for a kiss, but Rihanna definitely cave him the curve on national TV.

It wasn’t quite what Twitter expected and social media reacted to all the awkwardness we witnessed.

However, alternate angles of the VMA moment show Drake might have gotten a little peck on the lips. Videos from the rest of the night also show Rihanna and Drake putting on the PDA.


Ahead of the Rihanna’s big VMA night, Drake basically professed his love with a billboard congratulating the singer. While it’s probably best to keep their relationship as private as possible, I think they can only hide for so long. They’re so cute together; even the curve was adorable.
