First, can we all acknowledge how perfect it is to have a player called Green playing for the Celtics? It’s almost as on-the-nose as Andrew Luck playing for a team whose logo is synonymous with good fortune. Well, Boston’s Gerald Green decided to take it one step further by braiding a clover into his hair before the 2016 season.
That’s right, Green spent an hour-and-a-half getting the team logo braided into his hair prior to their home opener against the Nets last night. And the plethora of luck apparently paid off, as the Celtics won and Green brought home a stat line of 9 points, 2 assists and 5 rebounds in just 15 minutes of play.
Remember the black and blue dress last year that had everyone completely losing their minds? Well there’s a whole new optical illusion that has the Internet in a heated debate.
It all started when Instagram user @leonardhoespams posted a photo of her legs on her page. The photo was shared on Twitter and instantly went viral, becoming the talk of the Internet.
Come to find out, after viewing the photo full-size, it can easily be seen that the person actually has paint on their legs. Many tweeted that once they were able to see the paint on the person’s legs, they weren’t able to see shiny/oily legs anymore.
It’s not much of a surprise, but it’s still exciting news. Ciara has officially announced she is expecting baby number two!
Celebrating her 31st birthday, the singer made the announcement on Instagram with an adorable black and white photo with hubby Russell Wilson.
“On this special birthday I received an abundance of love from friends and family…and I’m excited to finally share one of the greatest gifts of all that god could give.”
Ciara’s baby news shouldn’t be all that surprising given the rumors that have followed the couple for months. Ciara’s public appearances last week further fueled speculation as she began to wear loose fitting clothes and large peplums. However, she wasn’t fooling anyone and a baby bump was clearly visible.
It seems the expecting mom wanted to announce the news on her terms. Following the heightened speculation, Ciara attempted to squash the rumors during an Oct. 19 appearance on Access Hollywood. “We got time,” she said.
“Our mission is, I got to make my best album for my fans. I want to rock out and make the world dance, and he’s got many more games to play. We got time to live life and things will happen at the perfect time as they’ve been [happening].”
The married couple of barely four months have not stated when their bundle of joy is expected to arrive. The new baby will be Wilson’s first and Ciara’s second. She shares two-year-old, Future Zahir, with rapper Future.
The Walking Dead has become a cultural phenomenon since it first aired six years ago. It has amassed a huge following over its six seasons, earning a spot in the top five most viewed shows on television right now. And after a long hiatus between season 6 (which ended in a brutal cliff hanger) and the season 7 premiere this past Sunday, fans were clamoring for the latest episode in this violent series.
And it certainly didn’t fail to live up to its violent history, with some critics calling it, “an hour of pure, relentless misery,” and “as much fun as…a barbed-wire baseball to the skull.” For those who haven’t seen it yet, just know that it was eye-poppingly brutal.
In fact, the episode was so violent and tough to watch, many viewers are saying they’ve finally had enough:
These threats of being done with the show are nothing new for TWD crew. You only have to look back to the season 6 finale when countless people vowed to drop the show because of the cliffhanger ending. There was even a change.org petition created to rally fans to stop watching.
How’d that work out, you ask? Sunday’s season 7 premiered with an average of 17 million viewers, up 20% from last year’s finale. So for now, it’s tough to believe all the angered chatter on social media.
They’ve proven they will keep coming back. As the executive producer of the show, Greg Nicotero, put it, “I think it’s a kneejerk reaction that people have, because they care about these characters. If we killed someone they didn’t care, like, ‘no big deal, just gonna go have a bagel and not worry about it,’ that means we haven’t done something to connect our people to the characters.”
So it’s probably safe to say The Walking Dead is in no trouble of losing its viewship. Besides, there’s a freakin’ tiger this season, and who’s not going to keep watching for that?
Four people were killed Tuesday (Oct. 24) on the Thunder River Rapids Ride at Dreamworld, Australia’s biggest theme park, located on the Gold Coast in Queensland.
Here are some things to know about the tragic incident.
1. The four victims killed in the accident were all adults.
When they arrived to the scene, officers found two victims were ejected after a malfunction on the ride and the other two victims were trapped inside. All four victims died from their injuries.
The victims were later identified as 32-year-old Kate Goodchild, 35-year-old Luke Dorsett, 38-year-old Roozi Araghi, and an unidentified 42-year-old New Zealand woman.
Queensland Ambulance spokesman Gavin Fuller said a “malfunction” was to blame for the incident. “The ride had sustained some sort of malfunction causing two people to be ejected,” said Fuller. “Another two people were caught inside the ride — two males and two females, they were assessed by Queensland ambulance personnel and had all sustained injuries that were incompatible with living.”
Two children, ages 10 and 13, were on the same raft as the victims, but managed to escape before being harmed.
2. Three of the four victims were family and had traveled around 2,300 km (over 1,400 miles) from Canberra to the theme park in Queensland.
Kate Goodchild and her brother Luke Dorsett along with his partner Roozi Araghi (L to R, all three killed in the incident) were visiting Queensland from Canberra (2,300 km/1,400 mi away) when they decided to stop by Dreamworld.
Kate and Luke’s mother Kim Dorsett told Courier-Mail that she is deeply devastated by the incident. “I have three children and have lost two of them today — my whole family has been wiped out,” she said.
She describes her son and daughter as kind, loving souls. “They really were just wonderful people – that would be the best way to describe them,” Dorsett said. “They were kind, loving souls that would honestly do anything for anyone.”
Kate Goodchild was the mother of two daughters, a 12-year-old and an 8-month-old. The oldest child is said to have been at the theme park when the accident occurred. Kate’s mother Kim said the oldest child is blaming herself for her mother’s death.
“Like me, she [the older daughter] is still coming to terms with it all but she is completely devastated – she is blaming herself for what has happened,” Dorsett said. “She has had a truly terrible day, she is going through unimaginable pain at the moment.”
Dorsett continued, “I’m at a loss as to how to deal with this now – I woke up this morning with three children and tomorrow I am only going to have one left. I have two granddaughters … and it truly breaks my heart to know that my eight-month-old is never going to get to know her mum.”
The other woman killed in the tragedy is said have been vacationing from New Zealand with her husband and two children at the time of the incident.
3. The park is now closed in light of the tragic incident.
Dreamworld’s CEO Craig Davison announced in a news conference following the accident that the park is closed and the situation is under investigation.
“At this stage, the park is closed and Dreamworld is working closely with police and emergency services to establish the facts around the incident,” Davison said. “We are deeply shocked and saddened by this and our hearts and our thoughts go to the families involved and to their loved ones.”

The company’s secretary Alan Shedden issued a statement saying, “Dreamworld’s focus and priority is with the families of those involved in this tragedy.”
4. US Olympian Matthew Centrowitz was on the ride minutes before the tragedy occurred.
US Olympian Matthew Centrowitz tweeted that he had just got off the ride 15 minutes prior to four people being killed. “Dude! Just got off a ride 15 mins ago that has 1 person seriously injured & 2 others trapped. #Dreamworld,” he tweeted.
hearing more news about the tragic event at Dreamworld today. Thoughts and prayers go out to people and families involved.
He also sent out another tweet giving his thoughts and prayers to all those involved: “hearing more news about the tragic event at Dreamworld today. Thoughts and prayers go out to people and families involved.”
5. The ride had stopped earlier in the day.
Witnesses said that there had been a problem with the ride earlier in the day and engineers had been called in for repairs.
“They drained all the water out and then had to refill it back up, and then we were allowed to go. We were stuck there for about 30 to 40 minutes at least,” a witness told Telegraph.co.uk.
Jesse Lovett told reporters that the velcro seat holding passengers in didn’t feel secure when he was riding with his 2-year-old daughter.
“It’s so rough and you had to hold it really tight. It was my favourite ride and now with my daughter I was pretty scared to go on it,” he said to news.com.au. “All that was holding her in securely was me. The strap did nothing and easily came undone because it was wet.”
Authorities would not comment on the cause of the malfunction, but forensics and workplace safety experts were investigating the matter.
6. Witnesses were seen hysterically crying
Witnesses said they saw a young girl was screaming who they believe was the daughter of one of the victims. “We saw people hysterically crying, running around … One of the daughters said it was her family,” a witness told Sky News.
Another witness Lisa Claire said that she and others tried to comfort the young girl.
“We saw [a] little girl and we believe it was her mum because it was just her and her little sister that was an infant. We tried to comfort her to the side to distract her,” Claire said. “The kids and people in there were screaming. It all happened so quickly. There were heaps of people crying, it all happened so fast.”
Claire Wooley told reporters, “She just kept screaming ‘Where’s Mummy? Where’s Mummy? We tried to comfort her, but she was so emotional it was hard. We were in tears ourselves and she was just hysterical.”
Other people who were on the ride at the time of the incident were said to have been hysterically crying as they were leaving the scene.
7. The ride was almost over when the malfunction happened.
A former Dreamworld employee who worked at the park for over a decade told the Gold Coast Bulletin that the ride was nearly finished when it hit an empty raft and flipped over.
“If you ever saw a doughnut being made at Donut King, they have a conveyor belt at the end that the doughnuts go up to dry off. It’s exactly the same thing … It just takes them from the water in the bottom to the unloading point at the end,” the former staffer said.
8. Police said that it was a miracle the two children on the raft survived.
Queensland police assistant commissioner Brian Codd said that the two girls who survived the tragedy were extremely lucky. “It was absolutely traumatic for these children. Almost a miracle that anybody came out of that,” he said in a statement.
The children were taken to the hospital and were receiving counseling.
“Our focus at the moment is on the two young children that were on that ride. We need to make sure that they are getting the care and the counselling that they need,” Annastacia Palaszczuk, the premier of Queensland said.
9. The Australian Prime minister released a statement.
A man pictured leaving flowers at a makeshift memorial near the theme park’s entrance
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said that he was sad to hear the news and assured a thorough investigation will be held.
“Theme parks are a place for family fun and happiness, not tragedy. This is a very, very, sad, tragic event. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives,” he said.
He added, “This is a very sad day, and we trust there will be a thorough investigation into the causes of this accident over the days to follow.”
Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Greenville, South Carolina.
According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, shots were fired just after 5 p.m. near the Turning Point of of South Carolina rehab facility, where deputies were attempting to serve a warrant.
Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis said in a press conference that as police pulled into the parking lot of the rehab center, they observed a man trying to hide his face and features. Three officers chased down the suspect, described as an “African-American male,” who they said confronted them with a 3-inch knife.
Sheriff Loftis said the man, who was two feet away from deputies, ignored repeated commands to drop the knife, and when he didn’t, one deputy fired a single shot that hit the suspect in the abdomen.
Loftis said there were a number of witnesses on the scene who have verified the story and no one else was in danger at the time of the shooting. Per protocol, the deputy who fired the shot has been placed on administrative leave.
The man, whose name and age haven’t been released yet, was taken to the hospital. Details regarding his condition weren’t immediately available.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates…
Bravo got us pumped for Real Housewives of Atlanta when the extended trailer for the upcoming season was released a few weeks ago. Now, the season 9 taglines have been revealed.
Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss drew inspiration from their personal lives, while Kenya Moore was inspired by, what else, her own name. Returning with a peach in her hand, Sheree Whitfield says “don’t call it a comeback.”
Phaedra: “You can’t always get what you want, but I can.”
Porsha: “I’m too blessed to be stressed, and too sexy to be thirsty.”
Cynthia: “Life is a runway, and Cynthia Bailey is ready to walk it alone.”
Kandi: “Now that I’ve got my Ace, I have a full house.”
Kenya: “I give the people what they want, and they always want more.” Or possibly “Moore”
Sheree: “Don’t call it a comeback. Call it a takeover!”
All of the taglines are pretty solid. However, I’m partial to Kandi’s and Phaedra’s. On Bravo’s website, fans have voted Phaedra’s season 9 tagline their favorite, while Sheree is second. Unfortunately, Cynthia’s is dead last, polling just 4% as of the writing of this post.
While the taglines are new, it seems Bravo is being cheap on photoshoots. Twitter noticed the title card for season 9 are shots from the season 8 photoshoot. Kandi was the only one to have an updated looked, presumably because she was pregnant during last year’s shoot.
Season 8
Season 9
You would think Bravo would pull out all the stops for its highest-rated Housewives show. In any case, season 9 premieres Nov. 6 at 8 pm.
Janet Jackson officially confirmed her pregnancy with a People magazine exclusive. The 50-year-old was recently spotted walking around in London, but she made sure no one could see her fairly large baby bump.
Though it has been reported doctors ordered Jackson to remain on bed rest, the singer and her husband were seen strolling down the streets of London on Sunday (Oct 23). Jackson wore a hooded black poncho — which The Daily Mail described as an “Islamic-style dress.” Accessorized with a head wrap and black skirt/dress, the garment covered Jackson’s body from head-to-toe.
Jackson’s husband, Wissam Al Mana, complimented his wife by wearing a grey hoodie and black sweatpants. However, they booth looked happy and comfortable as paparazzi snapped pics.
Despite previous concerns and complications, a source tells Daily Mail that doctors say Jackson is doing much better and she has even started thinking of names for her firstborn.
“Her support system is extremely strong. She is taking things easy these days and is feeling well but not overdoing it in any capacity of her life. Janet is staying healthy for her and her baby. She’s been praying for a child for a very long time. She’s already in the process of thinking of baby names.”
It’s still unknown when Jackson is expected to give birth. However, she told People: “We thank God for our blessing.”
If you’ve ever played fantasy football and owned Arian Foster, you understand the struggles that he has experienced his entire career. When healthy, he’s been one of the best running backs in the league. The problem is he’s rarely stayed healthy for long.
Well, after eight seasons, Miami Dolphins running back Foster has decided that “there comes a time in every athlete’s career when their ambition and their body are no longer on the same page. I’ve reached that point.” That’s right, via a tweet from Uninterrupted, Foster has announced his retirement — effective immediately.
The news comes amidst the rising value of his backup, Jay Ajayi, who has busted out for two great games in a row. For Foster, however, the decision didn’t come easy. “It’s hard to write those words,” he says, “because this game has been everything to me.”
It’s unfortunate to see such a great talent have his career cut short because of injuries. The four-time Pro Bowler amassed over 6,000 rushing yards and 54 touchdowns, and those stats would’ve been even more impressive had he managed to stay healthy.
But the simple fact is he couldn’t. Foster has always struggled with injury issues, and as a football fan that’s tough to watch. But as a human, his decision to step away from the game is completely understandable.
Because while we’d all love to continue to watch him dominate the game when healthy (and rack up those fantasy points) he has the rest of his life to think about. And a life with crippling injuries isn’t worth a few more years in the NFL.
And the way he worded it should let every fan know that this is the best move for him. “I am walking away in peace.”
As a football fan and multiple fantasy football Foster owner, all I can say is good luck in your next venture, and your undeniable talent will be missed.
Being an NFL kicker is a pretty tough gig. The pressure is always turned up to the max for these guys, whether it’s a ho-hum field goal, or a potential game winner. As a kicker, you’re either the game’s hero, or everyone hates you. Just ask Blair Walsh.
Well, there’s a new kicker being added to the “I hate you” list. Actually, two. But only one is being shat on by his own head coach. In the Sunday night matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks, the game went to overtime and came down to a field goal to win it.
Cue Arizona kicker Chandler Catanzaro. With 3 minutes left in overtime, the Cardinals got within six yards of the endzone and decided to trust their kicker to win the game. Sensible. I mean that’s basically an old school extra point. The result?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaZUJudLCWQ
Yeah, not what you want to see as a head coach. And the head coach, Bruce Arians, was none too thrilled with the result.
“Make it. He’s a professional. This ain’t high school, baby. You get paid to make it.”
Those were his thoughts in the post-game press conference. Clearly, he wasn’t overly thrilled with Catanzaro’s performance. But, being the coach that he is, he did offer some helpful insight for future kicks.
“The kicker needs to kick it through the two poles,” he told reporters.
Sage wisdom from the coach right there. As for Catanzaro, the only solace he can take in his botched field goal is that it didn’t cost them the game. Well, not entirely, at least. Because in the following possession, Seattle’s kicker, Steven Hauschka, did this.
It hasn’t even been a full six months since Drake released his fourth studio album Views, and the rapper is already preparing to drop another project.
In honor of his 30th birthday, which is today (Oct. 24), Drake announced last night on his Beats 1 radio show OVO Sound that he will be releasing a new album (or “playlist,” as he’s calling it) in December called More Life: The Playlist.
“I’m off like mixtapes, I want to do a playlist,” Drake said on the show. “I want to give you a collection of songs that become the soundtrack to your life, so this More Life: The Playlist. Like I said, dropping in December. All original music from me.”
Drizzy added, “You might hear some tunes from the family on there, but I’m just really excited. I had a great tour, I had a great summer. And most people, I guess, would like go probably take a break. But for me I just want to get right back to it. Be with the people again.”
After his album announcement, Drake showed that it’s real by playing not just one, two, or three, but FOUR new tracks from the project: “Two Birds One Stone,” a remix of Santan Dave’s “Wanna Know,” “Sneakin” (ft. 21 Savage) and “Fake Love.”
He also shared the project’s cover art on Instagram:
So, who do you believe? The “he said, she did” game between Azealia Banks and RZA continues. Both rappers are sharing their side of story regarding what actually went down during Hollywood part hosted by Russell Crowe.
The backstory of the incident in question: On Saturday (Oct. 15), RZA attended a very small and private dinner party hosted by Crowe with Banks as his guest. The night eventually turned to chaos and banks alleges the Oscar winner grabbed and choked her, spat on her and called her “n*gger” as she was thrown out.
The original Wu-Tang member explained his version of the night through a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday (Oct. 20). He writes Banks began verbally “insulting half the room” and then threatened to cut a woman in the face with glass. The situation escalated when she actually grabbed a glass. He says the young rapper exhibited “obnoxious erratic” behavior and even wondered if she was on drugs or had too much alcohol.
Though he never heard Crowe utter the n-word, he did confirm the actor spat at Banks (and missed) as she was being thrown out of the Beverly Hills Hotel suite.
He also recently spoke to TMZ about the situation.
RZA and Azealia Banks were first acquainted during filming of RZA’s upcoming film, Coco. RZA says he “fought” for the “struggling artist” to be able to join the project as others were concerned by her reputation. He says she was professional on set and did not know she would cause a problem during Crowe’s party.
“Regardless, you need to have the respect and decency to have someone properly escorted out. Grabbing them by the neck, calling them n*gger and tossing them out is not the look. NOR Is spitting an acceptable form of self-defense. I will be moving forward with Pressing charges.”
It has been confirmed by the Beverly Hills Police Department that Banks filed a report against Crowe on Sunday (Oct. 16). Detectives are currently investigating the situation. Crowe has yet to comment on the matter and share his side of the story.
Another day, another example of our justice system failing us. Much like the Brock Turner case, there has been another lenient sentencing for a rapist, only this one is even more egregious than that one, and it has the judge, John McKeon, on the hot seat.
1. Who Is John McKeon?
John McKeon is a State Judge in Eastern Montana who has recently made headlines across the country for a sentencing he made. And while some may hear the ruling and assume this was an inexperienced judge, McKeon has been serving for over twenty two years at this point.
In fact, he was on the verge of retirement before he was thrown into the national spotlight for his extremely lenient sentencing of an incestual rapist.
2. Why Is He In The News?
This otherwise Average Joe has been launched into national infamy after his ruling on a case that involved a Montana man repeatedly raping his 12-year-old daughter. 40-year-old Martin Blake had pleaded guilty to the crimes over the summer, and the prosecution was seeking a 25-year jail sentencing.
After hearing the case, however, McKeon decided to punish Blake with a paltry 60-day sentence with time already served. That means this man, who admits to having repeatedly raping his pre-teen daughter, will only spend 43 days in jail.
3. There is a Change.org petition to have him impeached.
After news of the downright insulting ruling broke, people across the country decided to take action. The petition says that “Judge McKeon did not uphold the responsibility of ensuring justice as he is required to in his elected position.”
“He is just one of many judges who have been caught handing down light sentences to rapists. This must stop and we can only do that by sending a message. It is time to start punished the judges who let these monsters walk our streets. Please sign this petition calling for the impeachment of Judge John C. McKeon.”
4. Judge McKeon has issued a statement defending his ruling.
Amidst the outcry of anger since his ruling, McKeon has come out and tried to explain why he decided such a lenient sentencing was best. He said that an evaluation performed on the defendant found that he was not likely to repeat his crimes and that he could be safely treated and supervised in the community. He cites the exception to the mandatory 25-year prison sentence for incest involving someone age 12 or younger.
McKeon also said that the victim’s mother and grandmother wrote letters asking that the defendant not be sentenced to prison. The victim’s mother wrote that while the defendant made a horrible choice, he needs help, not a prison sentence, even invoking the man’s sons who “will be devastated if their Dad is no longer part of their lives.”
He concluded his statement by saying:
“All district judges take an oath to uphold the Constitution and laws of this state. These constitutional provisions and laws include certain fundamental legal principles that apply at sentencing, including a presumption of innocence for unproved criminal allegations, the varying sentencing policies and government’s burden to counter evidence supporting an exception to mandatory sentence.”
5. McKeon plans on retiring in the near future.
For many judges, having such a harsh kickback from the public would be a career killer — something that follows you around for years to come (much like the Brock Turner Judge). But for McKeon, this won’t be a problem as he is planning on stepping down from the bench next month.
So the Change.org petition is aimed at doing more than just having him removed from his seat, as that won’t be a punishment at all. Instead, the call for impeachment is in the hopes that McKeon will not receive his taxpayer pension after he leaves.
As the petition says:
“We can ensure Judge McKeon doesn’t get to retire and collect a paycheck from taxpayers after failing to fulfill his duty as a judge.”
We’re into week six of the NFL season, and the National Anthem protest started by Colin Kaepernick continues around the league. Every Sunday (and Thursday and Monday) players are kneeling on the sidelines and raising their fist in protest of the racial issues facing our country. But not everyone is on board with protest.
One such person might be the Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. Irsay decided to let former Pro-Bowl cornerback Antonio Cromartie, and according to Cromartie’s wife, Terricka, it was because he decided to kneel during the anthem.
“One things for sure I know my husband was told not to take a knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his job, and clearly this statement backs that up. Just a paid to put on a show.”
The statement Terricka is referring to comes from an NFL owners meeting where Irsay said, “I think it’s the wrong venue. It hasn’t been a positive thing. What we all have to be aware of…is when the lights go on we are entertainment. We are being paid to put on a show.”
So clearly Irsay is not a proponent of the protest players are putting on around the league, claiming that it is having a negative effect on ratings and thoughts towards the NFL. So when Cromartie was let go after kneeling two weeks in a row, it’s not crazy that Terricka thought the two were connected.
Others, however, believe it was purely a football decision. Cromartie is an aging cornerback in an increasingly young league, and he was only brought onto the Colts to fill a gap in their injury-riddled secondary.
Others point to the fact that Cromartie was unsigned prior to the Colts picking him up, and no team has grabbed him off the waivers yet, so perhaps his skill set isn’t what it used to be.
The most likely reason? It was a mix of both. If Cromartie was killing it as a cornerback and helping the Colts win out, perhaps the protest would’ve gone unnoticed and not been an issue. And maybe if Cromartie didn’t take a knee and continued to play alright, he’d still be on the team.
But to not be contributing in a major way and then go against the owner’s advice of not protesting, well, at that point, whether right or wrong, it was probably an easy decision for ownership.
The stranger than fiction story of Mexican drug king pin El Chapo got more bizarre this week when the federal judge presiding over the appeals of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was murdered. El Chapo has been named “public enemy number one” by the Chicago Crime Commission because of the massive drug shipments being channeled into the U.S. by the Sinaloa cartel.
He has made headlines earlier in the year for escaping from a Mexican prison for the second time and the legal battle over his potential extradition to the United States for prosecution. He’s currently being held in another Mexican prison just south of the border and is fighting the extradition to the U.S.
The judge, Vicente Bermudez Zacarias, was out on a jog Monday (Oct. 17) when an unknown man ran up behind him, shooting him in the head.
Warning: the video below shows the murder taking place.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muxnnu6MSfM
Despite committing the murder in broad daylight with a number of witnesses and being caught on camera, the gunman has yet to be identified or caught.
It’s still too early to say how this will affect El Chapo’s extradition to the US, but it’s apparent that he has many connections and is willing to use every last one of them to stay in Mexico.
As the dump of emails from the Democratic campaign continue to be released by WikiLeaks, more and more information comes out. Some of it is mundane, some of it is damning, and some of it is just downright weird.
Take, for example, a recently released email showing the behind-the-scenes of creating a speech for Hillary Clinton before a campaign event in Alabama. It turns out, a staffer wrote a “Yo mama” joke into the speech and was looking for approval to run with it.
Not shockingly, they decided to cut that bit.
Yikes, indeed.
While I’m not surprised the campaign decided that a “Yo mama” joke probably wouldn’t work for ole’ Hill-dog, it does raise the question: what was the joke? Because now, all I want is to hear what kind of “Yo mama” joke Hillary and team could come up with, and how (most likely) painfully awkward that delivery would be.
And in a campaign that has been as hectic and unconventional as this one, this really is the only year a presidential candidate could bust out a joke like that with little to no negative impact. In fact, I say we lobby for a fourth presidential debate that is nothing but a Wild ‘n Out episode between the two candidates.
Even though that won’t happen, who knows, maybe the next batch of emails released by WikiLeaks will shed some light on what kind of jokes the Clinton campaign’s got.
Though their wives certainly aren’t friends, it seems Kanye West and Jay Z are also not as close as we once thought. Kanye even went on rant during a concert to spill some Tidal versus Apple tea and complain the hip-hop moguls’ daughters have never played together.
During his Wednesday show (Oct. 19) in Seattle, West was in his feelings because he believes Jay and Beyoncé could be more supportive friends since Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in Paris.
“Don’t call me after the robbery and say, ‘How you feelin’?’ You wanna know how I’m feelin’? Come by the house. Bring the kids by the house like we brothers. Our kids ain’t never even played together.”
Some have seemed very shocked that Blue Ivy (4) and North West (3) have never had a playdate. However, I’ve always assumed Beyoncé doesn’t fool with Kim Kardashian unless absolutely necessary at a public function. I mean, did anybody really believe Queen Bey was eating Kim’s “soul food” at a private Carter/West cookout?
West’s rant was sparked as he began to perform his verse of the Drake song, “Pop Style.” According to West, he wasn’t included on the final version of the song due to “Tidal Apple bullsh*t.”
“Let me tell you something, there will never be a Watch the Throne 2. You know why? Because…I wasn’t on this song because of Hov. Because of Tidal Apple bullshit. And this shit be getting me tight every time I perform this motherfucker. So y’all didn’t get what y’all was supposed to get with me and Drake on this song, because of Tidal Apple bullshit. Every time I perform this song I think about this shit. I think about the politics and the bullshit. I think about how hard I go. For music. For art, for y’all, for the fans. And Hov, he don’t.”
So exactly how long has this rift been going on? A source revealed to Page Six that Jay Z only “tolerates” Kanye West and only collaborated and toured with him in 2011 to make money.
“Jay can’t stand him. He looks at him as this crazy, eccentric motherf***ker he can tolerate in small doses. Kanye is a nut job. Everyone knows that.”
However, another Page Six source shot down this claim and insisted West was not dissing Jay in his rant.
“It didn’t seem like Kanye was dissing Jay at all. They are brothers, closer than friends. Jay appreciates Kanye’s genius, understands his passions and eccentricities and is accepting of it all.”
Regardless of what kind of “beef” the two of them have, still don’t anticipate any Blue Ivy/North West playdates anytime soon. At least, not on Beyoncé’s watch.
It seriously might be time for you to get your tweets and baby emojis ready. Ciara is continuing to spark rumors that she and new husband Russell Wilson are expecting their first child together.
The singer has been making several public appearances lately, and though she usually never misses an opportunity to show off her abs and toned body, Ciara has opted for loose fitting clothes and peplums.
Serving in her role as Revlon brand ambassador, Ciara attended an event at Refinery Hotel in New York on Tuesday (Oct. 18) wearing a white loose fitted tuxedo. The jacket was buttoned of course and her long hair was styled over her shoulder.
But it was her Wednesday (Oct. 19) appearance as guest co-host of Live with Kelly that really got us talking! The “Goodies” singer wore a ruffled black outfit. Despite the prominent peplum, it still didn’t hide what seems to be a cute baby bump.
Though no official announcement has been made, two sources revealed to E! News that the 30-year-old is, in fact, expecting a bundle of joy. “Ciara is pregnant and is so excited to be a mom,” one source said. “Russell would like to have two to three children. They both would like a big family.”
Ciara recently sparked rumors last month after posting a video of herself dancing. Many speculated they saw a slight baby bump as she did a body roll.
The newlywed couple previously revealed they were holding off on kids to focus on their individual careers. However, it looks like all that smashing on their honeymoon has altered that plan. If the rumors are true, this will be Wilson’s first child and Ciara’s second.
Well, this just might be the most adorable thing you’ll see all day. Three weeks after giving birth to her first child, Angela Simmons has debuted her baby boy to the world.
Rev Run’s daughter posted the cute photo of Sutton Joseph Tennyson on her Instagram page. “My favorite part of me,” she wrote.
Sutton Joseph was a few weeks earlier than his expected due date on born Sept. 29. Though she loves being a mom, Simmons tells People magazine she is still getting used to motherhood.
“He is a hungry boy. He’s up every few hours wanting to eat. It doesn’t leave a lot of time to close my eyes. But it’s all worth it… I’ve always wanted to be a mom so I’m loving every minute of it.”
However, being a mom hasn’t stopped Simmons from taking time for herself and staying healthy. Just two weeks after giving birth, she returned to the gym to get back into shape. “Light workouts approved by the DOC. #13DaysPostBaby #Day1Gym,” she wrote.
Life couldn’t get any better for Simmons and now that Sutton Joseph has made his debut, you can probably count on several adorable pics to put a smile on your face when needed.
After a two-week trial and less than four hours of jury deliberation, Derrick Rose was found not liable of all charges in the highly-publicized gang rape case.
Rose and two friends, Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen, were cleared of all charges in a civil suit, which included sexual battery, gender violence, battery, conspiracy, emotional distress, and trespassing. A woman (only known as Jane Doe) accused the three of gang-rapping her in 2013.
After being cleared of sexual battery and battery, Rose closed his eyes and tiled his head back. But that was expressive as he got.
The Knicks player reportedly showed little emotion as the verdicts were read and only answered one question from reporters, noting he now wants to “focus on the season.” His lawyer, Mark Baute, then spoke for his client. However, Rose did issue a brief statement.
“I am thankful that the jury understood and agreed with me. This experience and my sensitivity to it was deep. I am ready to put this behind me and focus on my family and career.”
Mike Monico — lawyer for both Hampton and Allen — was also pleased with the outcome. Though he denounced sexual assault, he also made a slight swipe at Jane Doe. “It’s amazing that one woman and a false claim can cause this much difficulty for these men,” he said.
“A celebrity can come to court and slut shame a plaintiff,” Jane Doe’s lawyer said, dismayed by the verdict.
Meanwhile, Baute claimed the media was biased against the three defendants because they are black men.
Members of the jury — comprised of six women and two men — initially did not speak to press. However, two men, only giving their first names, eventually explained how the jury reached its decision.
Jared said Doe “didn’t do any of the steps to prove her own case” and “nothing added up to a correct statement.” Jared felt like Doe “was playing us,” and he believed witness Gabriel Chavez, who testified that Doe was a liar. In contrast, Jared said Rose and his friends seemed “genuine” and “honest.”
When the jurors deliberated over the verdict, they “considered all evidence based on the facts” according to Jared, and at first tried to “prove the plaintiff correct” before deciding, but felt like they couldn’t. He said factors for the jury were Doe blacking out, her alcohol drinking, and not getting a hair test done to test for date rape drugs, before adding that three years having passed since the alleged incident was not a factor, except for how it affected witnesses’ ability to remember what happened. “She made her choices that night,” he added.
A second juror found Jane Doe initially asking Rose for money after the alleged incident to be troubling.
Both then went back into the courthouse for a photo-op with Rose and his lawyer.
Despite the verdict, Jane Doe’s lawyer says an appeal is also possible. Doe alleges Rose and his friends drugged and raped her in 2013. She says she passed out in her dress in her home, but awoke the next morning with her dress around her neck and no recollection of what happened the night prior.
