Xscape Is Back! R&B Quartet Reunites After 18-Year Hiatus to Perform and Release New Music as Kandi & Tiny End Feud

The one thing you probably thought never would happen just happened. Kandi and Tiny made up! And on top of that, Xscape reuniting with all four original members!

After 18 years of going their separate ways, Xscape is putting the old band back together again. Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and Tamika Scott made the announcement Tuesday (Feb. 28) during an appearance on Big Tigger’s radio show on Atlanta’s V103.

LaTocha Scott was unable to be in the studio live, but she called in. It was the group’s first interview together in 18 years! LaTocha also confirmed the news on her Instagram account.

Nearly two decades since the release of their third and last album, Xscape is prepared to perform together again, as well as record new music.

The R&B quartet disbanded in the late 90s after three successful albums to pursue solo and other projects. A longstanding feud between Tiny and Kandi also kept the original four from reuniting. The two revealed they reconciled during a much-needed conversation that took place on Monday (Feb. 27).

Kandi: “It was emotional, but then we had a real conversation, which we haven’t had in a long time. I was able to let it go after that.”

Tiny: “Now, we grown. We gon’ let the bygones be bygones. It’s the last time you will hear this. Anything after this is going to be our legacy and what we doing next.”

Kandi previously revealed during a 2013 V-103 interview that she felt Tiny purposefully spread rumors that she had sex with Jermaine Dupri’s father in an attempt to damage her public image. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said at the time:

“To this day now, I have to see people try to say that I had sex with Jermaine’s father. She said that just to make me look bad to people. She came back to apologize to me, but she never apologized in public…It’s not true. It was a flat-out lie. When people do stuff to try to damage you or bring you down to the public, that’s hateful.”

Fans couldn’t be happier the two finally squashed their beef and are even more excited Xscape is back together.

Kodak Black Arrested in Florida After Allegedly Fleeing Police & Violating Parole, Held Without Bond

Kodak Black is back in jail. The up and coming rapper was arrested during a court hearing after a judge found he violated his parole. He was booked at the Broward County jail in Florida and held without bond.

According to the Broward County Sheriff’s office, the 19-year-old was arrested Tuesday (Feb. 28) on “violation of community control,” more commonly known as a parole violation. Online arrest details show Kodak allegedly violated his parole by possession of a firearm, and fleeing or eluding a police officer. The arrest is also classified as a felony.

TMZ also reports the judge may have locked the rapper up for failing to complete an anger management program and leaving his Florida home without permission at least twice, including going to a strip club.

The arrest warrant confirms these charges, claiming Kodak allegedly violated parole by:

“failing to remain confined to his approved residence except for one half hour before and after approved employment, public service work, or any other special activities approved by the officer […] on various times and dates, as evidenced from the pictures on video showing the offender at various places that were not approved.”

Kodak currently has 5 years of probation and 1 year of house arrest.

Last September, he spent 120 days in a Florida jail on drug charges. After his release, he was then extradited to South Carolina for sexual assault charges. He was released Dec. 1 after posting $100,000 bond. Kodak’s arrest history also includes strong armed robbery, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm.

Kodak recently released his latest single, “Tunnel Vision,” which debuted at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. He was also scheduled to perform in New York City for the first time tomorrow (March 1). Since no bond has been set for his latest arrest, Kodak might be a no-show.

“Gary from Chicago” Released from 20-Year Prison Stint 3 Days Before Rubbing Elbows With Celebs at the Oscars

You knew it was coming. It was just Sunday (Feb. 26) that “Gary from Chicago” warmed America’s (and the world’s) heart as he casually rubbed elbows with Hollywood’s biggest stars during the Oscars. But it was only a matter of time before his backstory became public.

As it turns out, Gary Alan Cole has spent the last 20 years in prison, only being released three days before being “married” by Denzel Washington, kissing Halle Berry’s hand, and holding Mahershala Ali’s shiny new Academy Award.

My first thought upon learning this news was “of course ‘they’ can’t let a black man just enjoy his once-in-a-lifetime moment.” However, it was actually Gary, himself, who revealed his prison stint. He briefly mentioned his incarceration during an interview with Chicago’s ABC 7.

“Change is possible. It’s a sad day to be in prison for 20 years and not be able to be a dad, a granddad to your children. You know what my son told me today, man? I almost come to tears. He said he’s proud of me. So to hear your children say that they’re proud of me means the world to me.”

Further investigation shows Gary was convicted of petty theft in 1997 and sentenced 25 years to life under California’s three strikes law. The Three Strikes Reform Act recently commuted Gary’s sentence to 6 years, having already served 20 years.

According to a Facebook post by Karen Nash (Gary’s public defender), Gary “got a life sentence for stealing perfume in 1997.”


Gary also has several other convictions including petty theft, robbery, and a 1978 attempted rape conviction.

“Gary from Chicago” become a viral sensation when he and fiancé Vickie Vines, and several other LA tourists were unknowingly brought to the Dolby Theatre during the 89th Academy Awards telecast.

Like a real tourist, he captured the moment with his phone as he met A-list celebs like Denzel & Halle, Ryan Gosling, Nicole Kidman, and Meryl Streep. Vickie even stated Denzel Washington was her favorite actor.

The internet couldn’t get enough of “Gary from Chicago,” which began trending on Twitter. The viral star has since been offered free pizza from Chicago’s Gino’s East and an offer to attend a game by the Chicago Bulls.

The troubled and twisted cast of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta is ready and willing to give us the ratchet, ghetto, trash mess that we need to make it through the Trump administration with its sixth season.

When we last left off, Joseline told Stevie J that she was pregnant with his baby. In the sixth season megatrailer, we see Stevie struggle with believing whether Joseline’s baby is really his or not. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really work as a suspenseful plot since anyone who follows them on social media already knows that the baby is indeed Stevie’s.

But still, we get to witness Joseline fight, scream and fuss at Stevie as she goes through one of the most simultaneously miserable and glamorous looking pregnancies ever.

In a strange twist of events, some butch lesbian stud gets caught in the crossfire between Mimi and Joseline. It appears that the stud is licking the milk from both Mimi and Joseline’s saucepan? Gross.

The other big dramatic narrative is between Kirk Frost and Rasheeda as Kirk seems dead set on laying claim to the title of worst reality TV husband ever. Look, for many people in their 30s, Halle Berry will always be one of those standards of beauty. Her status as a beauty icon is cemented. And not even a bad hair day can take that away from her.

Halle had a very bad hair day at the 2017 Oscars. She showed up with a very noisy, messy and busy cornucopia of curls sitting wildly on top of her head. While the choice was a bit of a curveball, even more eyebrow-raising were the claims she made after the Oscars that her hair was “natural” and that she was merely honoring her natural beauty with the big, curly look.

In Halle’s own words to Vogue, she said:

“I have always marched to the beat to my own drum, and I think this red-carpet look encapsulates that. The dress is glamorous with a sense of romance that made me feel feminine and fresh. With this look, I celebrate my natural hair by allowing it to be wild and free.”

Hold up. Waaaaaaaiiiiiitt. Now I know that Halle Berry is a mixed race woman, but caucasian blood or not, there is no way that bird’s nest is “natural.” The shape and volume of those curls look about as natural as the nose on Lil’ Kim’s face.

Trey Songz Addresses Rumored Sex Tape Days After Being Caught in the Middle of Nicki Minaj & Remy Ma Beef

Trey Songz has been having a very interesting few weeks. First, Keke Palmer put him on blast, then he was brought into the middle of the Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj beef, and now the singer’s own piece of meat may have hit the net (if you know what I mean).

A 13-second graphic video surfaced online and the rumor is swirling that it features Trey Songz. The “sex tape” features a man and a woman having anal sex. The man’s arm tattoo and voice has people believing it’s the “Bottoms Up” singer.

Entertainment site Fameolous first leaked the video and Songz has even addressed the rumors on his Twitter account.

Notice he doesn’t exactly deny the video. The singer even uses it to promote his upcoming album, Tremaine. He also acknowledges and take advantage of the free publicity from the Remy/Nicki/Keke situations.

In January, Palmer accused Songz of “sexually intimidating” her to appear in his music video for the “Pick Up the Phone” remix, which was being filmed during a house party the singer threw. He dismissed her allegations and basically said on The Breakfast Club that the actress wasn’t important enough to “sneak” her into one of his videos.

Most recently, Songz was name-dropped in Remy Ma’s epic Nicki Minaj diss track, “ShETHER.” Remy claimed Nicki has had sex with the Songz. He eventually denied the accusation in an Instagram story video and stated he had respect for both rappers.

Though she still hasn’t responded to Remy’s diss, Nicki felt some type of way of Songz’s delayed denial of the claim. She deleted the tweet and her silence in regards to Remy herself is deafening.

Singer Kay Cola Defends Karrueche Tran, Says She Personally Heard Chris Brown Abusing Ex-Girlfriend

Karrueche Tran recently dropped several bombshells claiming Chris Brown attacked her during their relationship and recently threatened to kill her, causing her to file a restraining order. Her claims were questioned on social media, but someone has now come forward corroborating Karrueche’s allegations.

Following the news of Karrueche’s restraining order, singer Kay Cola revealed on Twitter she personally heard the former couple’s altercations. Cola is Chris Brown’s former neighbor. Cola claims in her tweets she used to hear Chris “beating” Karrueche and Karrueche “screaming at the top of her lungs.”

She also added more details when replying to an Instagram gossip account that questioned her own allegations.

The Grammy-nominated singer says she never publicly said anything because it wasn’t her place. She’s now backing Karrueche due to the hate that’s come her way since filing the restraining order.

Cola is still facing backlash on Twitter for speaking out now, rather than when it was occurring and battling trolls who support/defend Chris.

Cola’s allegations stem from Karrueche’s statements in the restraining order she filed Friday (Feb. 17). In the document, she claimed Chris punched her in the stomach twice and pushed her down a flight of steps during their relationship. She also told the judge Chris recently threatened to kill her.

“Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me. He said if no one else can have me, then he’s gonna take me out.”

A source tells People magazine Chris been attempting to contact Karrueche “nonstop ever since they broke up.”

“He texts her and leaves her crazy messages — one day saying he loves her, the next saying things like I’m going to ruin you and make your life a living hell. She had to change her phone number a few times.”

The temporary restraining order requires Chris to stay 100 yards away from Karrueche and her mother and brother. The order is in effect until the next court hearing March 9.

Pregnant Beyoncé Cancels Coachella Performance, Will Headline 2018 Festival Instead

Ever since Beyoncé announced her pregnancy with twins earlier this month, fans have wondered whether or not she would perform at this year’s Coachella Festival as planned, and now, the burning question of “will she or won’t she?” has been officially answered.

Per doctor’s orders, Beyoncé WILL NOT be performing at Coachella 2017.

In a statement released to the press Thursday afternoon (Feb. 23), Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice said the singer had to pull out of the festival “following the advice of her doctors.” The statement added that she will instead headline at the 2018 festival.

“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” the statement read. “However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”

Beyoncé, who is rumored to be around 4 or 5 months pregnant performed at the Grammys last Sunday (Feb. 12), but was seated during most of it, and even though she sounded (and looked) flawless, you could hear how hard it was for her to breathe with two babies sitting on her lungs.

By the time Coachella rolls around in April, she would be at least 5 or 6 months pregnant, and obviously doctors don’t think it would be a good idea to even try to do a 1-2 hour show, even if she’s sitting down the entire time (which, honestly, would not be a Beyoncé concert).

Festival organizers haven’t announced a performer to replace Beyoncé, however, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar are still set to headline their nights as planned. Radiohead will perform on April 14th and 21st, while Kendrick’s performances are scheduled for April 16th and 23rd. Beyoncé was supposed to perform on April 15th and 22nd.

Other performers at this year’s Coachella include Future, Gucci Mane, DJ Khaled, Lorde, Bon Iver and others.

Nick Cannon Welcomes Baby Boy Golden “Sagon” Cannon with Ex-Girlfriend Brittany Bell

It was just a few months ago that Nick Cannon admitted he was going to be a father for the third time. Well, the new bundle of joy has arrived and Cannon seems to be one proud papa.

Cannon took to his Instagram account Wednesday (Feb. 22) to announce the birth of his son, Golden “Sagon” Cannon. The baby boy was born one day prior, Tuesday (Feb. 21). Cannon shared the first photo of his second son with a Bible verse and heartfelt caption.

Cannon shares Golden Cannon with his ex-girlfriend, Brittany Bell. Bell is a model and former Miss Arizona USA. Though there were rumors, Cannon didn’t confirm the pregnancy until a November interview on The Breakfast Club.

Cannon has five-year-old twins with ex-wife Mariah Carey, which he affectionately refers to as “dem babies.” Golden is Bell’s first child.

The birth of baby Golden brings much joy to a rough week for Cannon. Last week, he reportedly quit his hosting job of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, after executive producers threatened to “punish,” possibly even fire him, over a joke in his recent Showtime comedy special. Producers felt Cannon disparaged the network, a violation of his NBC contract.

The comedian explained his decision to quit the show in a Facebook post. He wrote in part:

“I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn’t have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property…

Not to get too detailed but this isn’t the first time executives have attempted to “put me in my place” for so called unruly actions. I will not stand for it. My moral principles will easily walk away from the millions of dollars they hang over my head.”

Quitting the show that made him a household name (or least something other than Mariah Carey’s Husband) may be difficult and sad, but the birth of his son is certainly something to celebrate. We wish Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell all the best as they co-parent baby Golden.

Laverne Cox Reveals Why She Declined Offer to Work with Beyoncé & What It Was Like to Finally Meet Her Idol

If there’s one thing you need to know about Laverne Cox, it’s that she is a die-hard Beyoncé stan!

We all witnessed this during Beyoncé’s 2014 MTV Video Music Awards medley performance of her self-titled visual album as Cox was seen getting her whole entire life in the audience.

You would think she would jump at the chance to work with her idol, but the actress just revealed she had to turn down a once-in-a-lifetime offer. She told People magazine that she was asked to appear in the masterpiece, Lemonade.

“Actually, Miss Tina [Lawson] contacted me about their initial concept of ‘Sorry’ from Lemonade. They wanted to have all these powerful, empowered black women in the video and they wanted to have me and Viola [Davis] and Kerry [Washington].

Unfortunately, Cox had to decline the offer, not because she didn’t want to work with Beyonce, but due to scheduling conflicts while filming Fox’s Rocky Horror Picture Show.

“I was shooting Rocky Horror Picture Show at the time and they were like, ‘Can you get the EP [executive producer] to shoot something and send it to us?’ and there was just no time to do it.”

Cox says it all worked out for the best and praised Serena Williams, who ultimately appeared in the video alongside Beyoncé. “The concept changed. And could you imagine anyone else?” she rhetorically pondered. “I mean, there was Serena Williams, like, giving us full life.”

Though she didn’t work with Beyoncé or appear in Lemonade, the stars aligned for the actress at the 2017 Grammy Awards, where she was able to finally meet her idol for the first time. She expressed her joy on Instagram accompanied by a picture of the magical moment.

It’s quite unfortunate Cox was unable to be part of one of the greatest works of art of the 21st Century, but maybe she’ll have the opportunity to work with Beyoncé in another capacity. Or better yet, their Grammy meeting may be the beginning of a nice friendship.

Ed Hartwell Doesn’t Want to Pay Child Support for 2-Month-Old Daughter With Keshia Knight Pulliam

In a saga that has played out like a Love & Hip Hop storyline rather than an episode of The Cosby Show, Keshia Knight Pulliam’s messy relationship drama continues. We now have an update on the paternity test Pulliam’s soon-to-be ex-husband, Ed Hartwell, so desperately wanted.

According to a TMZ report, a paternity test has proven Hartwell is the father of Pulliam’s newborn daughter, Ella Grace. However, while Hartwell accepts the two-month-old is his child, he has no plans to help provide for the child financially, at least not right now.

Hartwell states in new divorce documents that he does not believe Pulliam is in need of “emergency financial support” and wants to hold off paying her any money until the court decides on child support payments.

He argues Pulliam is financially stable (most likely referring to her Cosby money) and that she is not taking into account his financial needs, such as preparing a nursery in his own home.

Pulliam and Hartwell’s divorce has been extremely messy. They have each accused the other of being “mentally and emotionally abusive” and unfaithful during their 6-month marriage. Cops were even called to Pulliam’s home in September after Hartwell attempted to enter the home without permission to retrieve a few of his personal belongings (Pulliam was not at home at the time).

Ella Grace is the former couple’s only child together. Hopefully, Hartwell will pay up once child support is ordered by the court.

Karrueche Claims Chris Brown Attacked & Threatened to Kill Her, Files Restraining Order

As if we needed more proof Chris Brown is crazy, Karrueche Tran just dropped a bombshell and made a bold move. TMZ is reporting Karrueche has filed a restraining order against Chris after she claims he threatened to kill her.

TMZ is exclusively reporting Chris has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Karrueche, her brother and her mother. She claims in the legal documents Chris has threatened to shoot her and “take [her] out.” She also alleges he physically assaulted her during their relationship.

Via TMZ:

Karrueche claims in a sworn statement to the judge, earlier this month Chris “told a few people that he was going to kill me.” She then says Chris told the friends if he can’t have her then no one else can, threatening he was going to “take me out” and “threatened to shoot me.”

Karrueche also says several years ago Chris “punched me in my stomach twice,” and “pushed me down the stairs.”

She now feels Chris’ verbal threats may be escalating as he allegedly recently threw a drink at one of Karrueche’s friends.

TMZ also notes that the physical abuse Karrueche claims would have occurred while Chris was still on probation for Rihanna’s domestic abuse case.

Chris has often come off as someone with severe anger and controlling issues. It was just a few weeks ago when he recorded himself saying that he will make all his exes lives “miserable” by stalking them and not letting them go.

Last week, Twitter was captivated by #HurtBae, an emotional viral video by The Scene that found a woman confronting her cheating ex-boyfriend. A new hashtag has now surfaced, but it’s way more ratchet and entertaining (and confusing).

Sunday night (Feb. 19), Twitter became transfixed by #StrandedBae. It all started after Twitter user @_iamqueenk began sharing her story of being stranded at the airport by her boo, @KashMoneyKanee.

He apparently flew @_Iamqueenk out for a quick hook up, but after he hit it and quit it, he sent her packing and dropped her back off at the airport. Unfortunately, she missed the flight and @KashMoneyKanee ignored her calls, leaving her stranded. And it only got worse from there.

She has since deleted the thread, but her story consisted of some girl being stranded by BF and ended up staying a couple of days in @Teezybaby21’s dorm room. Only problem is the girl overstayed her welcome, had no money, and says she was jumped by a group of girls while @Teezybaby21 was out. The girl was also allegedly pregnant.

The ninth season of Real Housewives of Atlanta has been one for the record books. If this season had a motto, it would definitely be: “Expect the unexpected!”

“Britney Ever After” Was an Absolute Disaster and Twitter Could Not Stand It

Once upon a time, Lifetime was pitched and positioned as a network geared to entertaining and/or inspiring women. To be fair, the Lifetime film division has always been a B-rate dumpster fire, but it used to tread exclusively in the arena of overwrought, cheesy films about domestic violence, marital infidelity or baby kidnapping.

These days, Lifetime has decided that it would be better positioned as a source of low-budget biopics that make VH1 and BET’s productions look like Hollywood blockbusters in comparison. They started this trash with the Whitney biopic, and most recently, they marred Aaliyah’s legacy with their shitty adaption of her career and life. So why not go after some of white people’s most beloved icons such as Britney Spears? Black folks deserve a break from Lifetime’s bullshit.

There’s plenty of things to tear apart about the film. We could start with the miscasting of the lead role with Australian actress Natasha Bassett as a mishapened, wispy looking Britney.

Or we could weep over the god-awfulness of the supposed post-breakup dance-off between Britney and Justin that was forced on us.

Soulja Boy Claims Victory as Chris Brown Appears to Quietly Back Away from Fight

The High-Yellow Tyrant, better known as Chris Brown, and the Tattooed, Goofball One-Hit Wonder, better known as Soulja Boy, started off the new year on the wrong foot.

After a social media war of words, videos and memes over Chris’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche, Chris Brown challenged Soulja Boy to a boxing match for charity to settle their beef.

An official poster was created and Adrien Broner said a fight between Soulja and Breezy was set for sometime in March.

So here we are in the middle of February and all has been pretty quiet on more specifics on the Breezy/Soulja fight night. In fact, Chris Brown has been suspiciously quiet and his Instagram feed has been scrubbed of any personal or controversial posts, leaving up only posts that promote his music and his clothing line. It’s almost as if an adult has stepped in and advised Christopher to focus on what matters: his career.

Apparently, there’s a reason for Chris’s silence as the paperwork has apparently been drawn up but he’s refused to sign it, according to Wack 100.

For those who don’t know: Wack 100 is a manager of both The Game and Ray J. Two negros who stay in some hot mess. He’s also apparently Soulja Boy’s promoter. So given his track record and his status as being firmly in Team Soulja’s camp, he’s hardly an unbiased source of information.

But still, Soulja Boy pounced on the news and fired off a tweet storm at Chris, mocking, taunting and laughing at Rihanna’s ex for backing out of the boxing match. TheShadeRoom has a nice tidy recap of all of the ranting and raving:

Now I’m not usually Team Soulja, but Chris Brown DID propose the fight, not Soulja. And he made a hell of a lot of noise about how he was going to beat down Soulja to the ground. While I respect that someone in Camp Breezy has stepped in and taken away his Twitter and Instagram access, it’s too little and too late. Chris has written a check and now he’s gotta cash it.

I know Chris is not backing out because he’s scared to lose to Soulja Boy. It’s just clear that someone on his team smartly recognizes that being violent on international television is a bad look for Brown, given his checkered history with violence and the law.

But who says common sense should stop a good fight from happening? Come on, Team Breezy, let Christopher knock Soulja Boy out for the good of humanity. It’s not like he could cause much more brain damage to Soulja’s mashed-potato mental status.

Brittney Jones Arrested Weeks After Performing & Filming Oral Sex in Florida Courthouse

Brittney Jones evaded authorities for as long as she could, but, unfortunately, her luck just ran out. According to News 4 Jax, Jones has been arrested for the public sex act she performed in a Jacksonville, Florida courthouse hallway.

Jones was arrested Wednesday (Feb. 15) and booked at the Duval County Jail. She is charged with unnatural and lascivious act and a marijuana charge was added Thursday. She also appeared in court Thursday and pleaded not guilty.

According to Action News Jax reporter Bridgette Matter, clearly enjoying her Internet fame (or infamy, depending on how you look at it), Jones “smiled and waved to the cameras as she was being led back to jail.” She’s due in court on February 28.

Jones did not turn herself in to authorities, as she previously hinted on social media. She was reportedly arrested at her Jacksonville home in the Herlong neighborhood on Wednesday night.

Jones’ father wrote on Facebook:

“Bittersweet moment this morning. I will definitely keep her in my prayers — much, much, much prayer needed.”

The 26-year-old made international headlines in early February after filming herself performing oral sex on a man in the fourth-floor hallway of Duval County Courthouse. She then posted the video on Twitter and promoted it on her other social media accounts.

“Found a way to get my charges dropped,” she wrote on Twitter before deleting the video.

The sex act was also captured on courthouse security cameras, which lead to an investigation and eventual arrest warrants for Jones and the man in the video, Jeremiah Robinson.

Robinson, 35, turned himself in to police custody Feb. 7, one day after the warrants were issued. He was also charged with unnatural and lascivious act and pleaded not guilty. He is now released on bond.

Carlos Santana Says Beyoncé Is “Not a Singer” Then Apologizes After BeyHive Swarms His Social Media Accounts

If old people learned to not stick their feet in their mouth, they really would be able to age a lot more gracefully.

Carlos Santana is a rock legend, so I don’t want to disrespect him too much, but the man behind top 40 hits such as “Smooth” and “Maria, Maria” needs a slap or two for his ridiculous comments about Beyoncé.

As the world continues to recover from the head-scratching decision from the Grammys, which awarded Album of the Year to Adele and not Beyoncé, Santana decided to fan the flames and declare himself Team Adele.

“I think that Adele won because she can sing, sing,” Santana told AAP.

“With all respect to our sister Beyonce, Beyonce is very beautiful to look at and it’s more like modelling kind of music – music to model a dress – she’s not a singer, singer, with all respect to her,” he said.

Now, see, this is the kind of shit that makes me really mad. Yes, Beyoncé is more of an all-around entertainer than Adele is, but on what planet does that mean you’re less worthy of winning Album of the Year? Michael Jackson was a powerful singer and dancer: Will anyone sit here and argue that the man was NOT a remarkable singer because he moonwalked?

Furthermore, when did the notion that the only singers that can or should be rewarded are those who stand still and belt? Carlos’ comment is especially confusing given that Taylor Swift has won Album of the Year twice. Surely, Carlos can agree that Taylor Swift is NOT a better singer than Bey, right?
