50 Cent // Power by Fifty Fragrance Launch

Rapper 50 Cent has crossed over to the world of fragrances, and here he can be seen at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City Thursday (Nov 5) promoting his new “Power by Fifty” cologne.

50 Cent // Power by Fifty Fragrance Launch

50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) says that before he even got to work on the fragrance, he already knew he wanted it to smell “successful.”

“The fragrance Power was an idea I came up with,” 50 said before the event started. “I wanted to offer confidence. I wanted to make something that smells like success. We went through a whole lot of different ideas. I created storyboards, things I felt was representation of power. It turned into the actual shape of the bottle, if you look at the top. The details on it might remind you of my favorite watches, Audemars Piguet or Hublot. I wanted it to be masculine, sexy, attractive. Prior to creating this actual fragrance, I had the opportunity to enjoy Creed; that was one of my favorite fragrances. That kinda inspired me.”

And word is Kim Kardashian will be the spokeswoman for the upcoming perfume for women.

[MUSIC VIDEO] 50 Cent F/ Ne-Yo - "Baby By Me" (Starring Kelly Rowland) (click to watch!)

Rapper 50 Cent recently premiered his brand new music video for the latest single off of his new album, Before I Self Destruct. “Baby By Me” features a hook sung by R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo and the video stars R&B singer and former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland, who plays 50’s love interest and baby mama.

A lot of folks raised their eyebrows when it was announced that Kelly would star in the clip, but we see no problem with her accepting this offer. We’re in a recession. It’s not good business to turn down money! And we hear 50 Cent begged her any way. Who can say no to someone begging to give you money???

He says he bumped into her in Los Angeles and he knew right then and there he wanted her for his new video.

“I actually ran into her, I said, ‘Wow! It’ll be great if I could get her to come tomorrow [for the shoot]‘,” 50 Cent explained. “Kelly was getting ready to fly back to Miami. I was lucky enough to catch her. I kinda begged my way into her doing it. I didn’t want to do the normal video situation, where you have the vixen or somebody no-one knows from anywhere. I think it intensifies the whole song.”

A pretty decent investment for both parties wouldn’t you agree? Continue reading to peep the new video!

Jay-Z

(01.) Jay-Z was given the honor of being the top emcee in the rap game for the year 2009, according to MTV. They give most of the credit due to his recent success with his latest album, The Blueprint 3.

Blueprint 3 is another Hov tour de force — and it destroys the myth that there’s an age limit on being a dope MC. At 39 years old, Jay is arguably still better than anybody on the mic today, rhyming with precision and grace. He throws buzzsaws right from the gate on the intro “What We Talking About,” where he raps about what he deems to be nonsense, like dwelling on rap beef.

50 Cent with kids at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey

Rapper 50 Cent bused a group of kids and their chaperones to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey Saturday afternoon (Aug 29). Here are a few pics of him posing with some of the kids backstage before his concert in front of the invite-only crowd. In between songs, the Jamaica Queens, NY born and raised rapper thanked everyone for coming out to the Vitaminwater sponsored event.

“I want to thank everyone for getting on the buses and coming out,” 50 stated. “I was trying to do something good. When I was small Great Adventures (Six Flags) was a big thing to me. So I wanted to make sure I brought kids so they could have that same experience.”

The next day, 50 wanted to host a concert in his hometown for “family day,” but the City of New York nixed the plans due to safety concerns. The Six Flags show, however, went on without a hitch and 50 plans to make the benefit an annual event.

Album push-backs are so common now-a-days! Rapper 50 Cent announced on his website that the release date for his upcoming fourth studio album, Before I Self Destruct, has been pushed back to the first week of November. He blames Eminem’s album and the ever-changing music industry, among other things, for the constant set-backs.

“I had the time make it and remake it,” he said. “I didn’t have that [kind of time] on my other projects. I was limited, just because the system was in a state of confusion with things changing. The music business itself changed. It was periods of time I felt I was ready and it wasn’t a possibility for me to release the record at that point. Then the Eminem train came running down the track — I had to get out of the way to let Eminem’s record come out. Because he had been off for two years, it made sense for me to let him come out first. My new album, it should be out early November. The first week of November.

Mr. Jackson is also planning to transport locals in his old Southside Jamaica Queens neighborhood via 30 buses to Six Flags Great Adventures in New Jersey this Saturday for a concert.

Jay-Z & 50 Cent

Rapper Jay-Z unsurprisingly ranked Number 1 on Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings List 2009 with fellow hip hop stars Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent and Akon rounding out the top 5. Now, 50 is promising that he will top the list next year:

“I’m on deck,” 50 said in an interview. “I’m loaded. Call me ‘four’ this year, and then you call me ‘one’ next year, because I’m really preparing for my cycle. They’re fine…What kind of person would be upset at what position they fall when they’re on the Forbes list. That person would be a complete idiot.”

It is rumored that 50 will be releasing his new album on September 11th, the same day Jay-Z will release Blueprint 3. Who do you think will come on top with their album release? We say Jay-Z!
