Usain Bolt Finishes Olympic Career With Historic 9th Gold Medal

“There you go. I’m the greatest.”

Those were the words Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt said after he finished the 4x100m relay Friday night (Aug. 19), earning him his 3rd gold medal this year and 9th in his career. It’s hard to deny the claim by the world’s fastest man when you look at the facts.

With his clean sweep in Rio — he won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m — Bolt became the only human to ever win all three sprint events at three Olympic games. His victories also put him into another rare group, making him one of only three athletes to ever earn 9 gold medals along with American Carl Lewis and Finnish Paavo Nurmi. Only one person in the world has more than those three — Michael Phelps.

And while the results are impressive in their own right, the manner in which Bolt manages to win is incredible. Whenever he is on the track, it seems like he’s running in another gear, leaving all of the other athletes to compete for second. We’ve all seen the viral photo of one of his earlier races.

That wasn’t an anomaly, either. In tonight’s relay, Bolt received the baton at right about the same time as his competitors, but in a mere 100m, he managed to distance himself from the pack and win the gold for Jamaica easily.

When asked how he would celebrate his historic performance in Rio, Bolt replied, “I’m to stay up late and have fun. I never knew this would happen when I started out.” He’s certainly earned the right to have a little fun (just hopefully not as much fun as Ryan Lochte) after dominating in what he says will be his last Olympic games.

Bolt turns 30 this Sunday and would be 33 when the 2020 games kick off in Rio. He’s been adamant that he will not participate, citing next year’s World Championships as his last competition. His teammate, Yohan Blake, is hoping that’s not true, though. “Usain needs to be immortal and he is immortal,” Blake said. “I will encourage him to come back for 2020.”

With how well he’s been performing, it looks like he’s more than capable. So who knows, maybe we’ll see Bolt in 4 years making a run at becoming the outright second most medaled athlete in history.

Ryan Lochte Issues Half-Ass Apology For Lying About Rio Robbery

On Friday (Aug. 19), US Olympic Swimmer Ryan Lochte finally issued an apology about his behavior during a night out with some friends in Rio and the ensuing chaos it caused. For those of you not aware of the situation, here’s a brief summary.

On Sunday (Aug. 14), reports surfaced that Ryan Lochte and three of his swimming teammates had been robbed at gunpoint while hitting the town in Rio. In an interview with an NBC broadcaster, Lochte told the harrowing tale of how he and his friends were robbed by men posing as police, with one even cocking the gun and putting it to Lochte’s head.

After conflicting reports began to emerge, a Brazilian judge ordered that the swimmers stay in Rio as an investigation ensued, but Lochte had already fled back to the States, leaving his fellow teammates stranded in Rio. Eventually, the truth came out that the group had vandalized a bathroom, and that the fake policemen were actually security guards demanding money for the damages.

The rest of the swimmers were eventually released, and after all of that, Lochte finally made his statement.

And to that, I think it’s clear why Lochte has earned himself the title of ultimate douche.

First, the way Lochte told the lie is a perfect reflection of his character. He could have just said they were robbed, but he had to go a step further, saying that while his teammates dropped to the ground, Lochte wasn’t going to be bullied, not even being phased by a cocked gun to his head.

Then, knowing sh*t was going to hit the fan, Lochte immediately fled the country, but left his friends and teammates behind to deal with the blowback. If there is even a strand of decency in him, he will pay back teammate James Feigen’s nearly $11,000 he was forced to pay to be allowed to leave Brazil.

Even the way in which Lochte apologized exemplifies why people don’t like him. First, he does it over Instagram rather than opening himself up to questions from a reporter. And then, he doesn’t really apologize for what he did.

Nowhere does he say he lied and fabricated a story for some unknown reason. (Which he clearly did.) He still tries to play the victim, blaming everything on the traumatic nature of being out “late with your friends in a foreign country.”

Nowhere is there an apology about vandalizing a bathroom and then lying about it on national news, causing an international hubbub.

So, for that, this “apology” doesn’t hold much weight for me.

Wayment. Did Soulja Boy Really Threaten to Kill His Ex Girlfriend Nia Riley’s New Boyfriend?

Soulja Boy is looking like a real a-s-s right now.

Earlier this week, the “Crank That” rapper posted a video to his Instagram (which is now deleted) threatening to kill a guy on social media he thought was his ex Nia Riley’s new boyfriend.

In the video, Soulja waves what appears to be a glock at the camera.

“Ay dude, f*ck you and f*ck Nia Riley. Stop playing with me before some shooters be outside your house lil n*gga, kill your bitch ass n*gga,” he says in the clip.

Turns out the guy Soulja is losing his shit all over is an Internet troll and has no connection to Nia Riley whatsoever.

Nia spoke with TMZ after Soulja made his video and revealed that she isn’t dating anyone. She says that the guy Soulja got confused and thought was her BF is just a random guy trying to make Soulja mad on social media.

Nia also doesn’t plan on reporting Soulja to the police.

Nia tells TMZ she’s NOT calling cops to report Soulja. She says she doesn’t have a BF, and the person he threatened is just an Internet troll trying to piss off the rapper.

A rep for Soulja Boy is claiming that the gun in the video was a fake, and he personally apologized to Nia. Too bad we aren’t buying that mess. Nia, don’t take him back girl!

Diddy and Cassie Are Still Together Despite Troubling Police-Involved Domestic Dispute

Lovers’ quarrels are pretty common, but it’s never a good sign when the police have to get involved. Cassie and Diddy reportedly got into a heated argument and cops were called to Cassie’s home.

According to TMZ, the couple got into a heated argument while driving through Beverly Hills on Wednesday (Aug. 17) after Cassie told the Hip Hop mogul she wanted to break up. Apparently, suspicious if another guy is in the picture, Diddy grabbed her phone and started scrolling. He eventually jumped out the car, with phone in hand.

Cassie then arrived home and told her mother, Stacey Hobson, about the incident. Hobson then called the police. However, by the time the cops showed up, Diddy had returned the phone, but took two cars that were in the driveway.

Though police filed a domestic incident report, they claim no crime had been committed.

So is this the end of Cassie and Diddy? Not so fast. Us Weekly exclusively reports the couple is still together. A source confirmed the incident, but claims it was “just an argument” and media has blown it out of proportion. “[It] is what is,” the source said.

Diddy and Cassie have been off-and-on since 2007 and rarely discuss their relationship. Back in 2013, Cassie said “Just being around [Diddy] is a completely inspiring experience.” She also admitted that “honesty and communication” is the key to maintaining a relationship.

Well, they clearly need to work on the communication part. Because this is giving me all kinds of Rihanna and Chris Brown flashbacks.

Former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Star Benzino’s Nephew Convicted of His 2014 Shooting

The nephew that shot former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Benzino has been found guilty.

Gai Scott was convicted of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. However, he was cleared of armed assault with intent to murder. Scott is scheduled to be sentenced August 26th.

Scott shot his uncle in March 2014 during the funeral procession for Benzino’s mother. The two were both in separate moving vehicles and Scott allegedly shot Zino due to a lingering family dispute over money.

Because of the family tension, Benzino paid his respects to his mother privately and decided not to attend the funeral. However, he encountered the procession while picking up a friend and Scott opened fire.

Zino was hospitalized, but suffered non-life threatening injuries. He also did not reveal the name of his shooter, presumably to protect his nephew.

In 2014, Scott’s lawyer at the time, Jon Ciraulo, argued the shooting was in self-defense.

“When the dust settles with respect to this case, it’s going to be abundantly clear that Mr. Scott, a licensed gun owner, was acting in self-defense and in defense of his family,” he said.

His current lawyer maintains this argument. “We’re very happy that the jury found that there was no intent to murder anyone, that he was exercising self-defense,” Rosemary Scapicchio said.

Benzino has yet to comment on Scott’s conviction and impending sentencing.

T.I. & Tiny May Be Headed to Divorce Court, Read Tiny’s Vague Statement

Are T.I. and Tiny getting a divorce? Rumors have swirled for weeks that there’s trouble within the couple’s marriage. However, Tiny is now setting the record straight.

Tiny has released a statement through her rep insisting everything is “good” and family always comes first. The full statement reads:

“Certain blogs have ‘reported’ that she’s going to be a single mom, she’s getting a divorce, she has a new residence and everything in between. On behalf of Mrs. Harris, this is the truth – Tameka and TI are good. They love each other and they have a beautiful family with seven amazing children. For them, it will always be family over everything.”

Though Tiny gave birth to the couple’s seventh child in March, Tiny and baby Heiress have reportedly been living in a separate house from TIP. In fact, it’s a $1.4 million home she bought in 2014 when she suspected T.I. was cheating on her.

The couple has been together since 2001 and married in 2010. However, the family has encountered rough times in recent months. Tiny’s oldest daughter, Zonnique, was arrested for carrying a weapon through an airport and a man was shot and killed during one of Tip’s concerts.

Tiny also recently engaged in a social media battle with Zonnique’s step-mom, Cheryl. During the heated war of words, Cheryl also brought up the cheating rumors, including an alleged encounter T.I. had with a prostitute. “Yeah he was with a prostitute so they say. He gotta deal with that with God,” Tiny replied.

T.I. has remained mostly silent on all the drama. However, he did post a message on Instagram. “Lies will be told … but Truth will be seen!!! I feel no need to address gossip or respond to peons,” he wrote.

I clearly don’t have the tea, but it does seem T.I. and Tiny are going through a rough patch. Tiny’s statement from her rep addresses “family over everything” but does not directly address the state of her marriage. I suspect rumors will continue to swirl until we get definitive proof whether the two have separated or still together.

Malia Obama Reportedly Attended “Rowdy” College Party Shut Down by Police

Ya’ll, Malia Obama is so ready to be out of the White House! The 18-year-old clearly doesn’t care who’s watching anymore; she just wants to have a good time like every other college-aged teen.

Malia reportedly attended a party that was ultimately shut down by the cops. The party was thrown by a group of college kids in “sleepy” West Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Police asked the owners to end the party after a noise complaint was made.

Although police did not confirm if Malia Obama was in attendance, the Boston Herald reports she was getting turnt up and bolted soon after the police arrived.

Malia, of course, was escorted home by her Secret Service squad, who we’re told, got her outta there right quick when the heat showed up!

Just to show how OG Obama is, she’s in Martha’s Vineyard with her parents! The Obamas vacation on the affluent island for their annual summer vacation.

She went to the most lit college party with her parents down the street and Secret Service in tow. This certainly beats the childish antics we did when we were her age, like, sneaking out the house or coming home past curfew. KID STUFF, compared to Malia, right?

For reasons unknown, everybody and they mama on social media has been participating in the latest Internet craze, the “So Gone Challenge.”

The point of the #SoGonChallenge is to make a video of yourself rapping to Monica’s 2003 hit single “So Gone” and post it on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc).

While the majority have been painful to watch, there have been a few standouts that were actually good. Several celebrities, including Monica herself, Keke Palmer, and Kevin Hart even joined in on the fun.

“Very Rich” NeNe Leakes Owes the IRS a Ton of Money in Back Taxes

Well, the secret is out. We finally know how NeNe Leakes became to the “rich bitch” she claims to be, and it wasn’t just cashing in those “Trump checks.” Apparently, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star owes a buttload of back taxes.

According to a tax lien the IRS filed last month, Leakes owes $824,366.01 in taxes from 2014. The reality star has often bragged about her wealth and riches since becoming a well-known figure. But it looks like she included the money that belonged to the government in her overall net worth.

2014 was extremely profitable for NeNe Leakes. During this period, she was still holding a peach on RHOA, had a recurring role of FOX show Glee, appeared on Broadway in Cinderella, and launched an HSN clothing line. Given the high tax lien, she most likely earned well over $1.5 million that year.

In fact, she may have earned $1 million of that from the Bravo reality show, alone. It was reported in mid-2013 that she signed a $1 million contract to return for the show’s sixth season, which ended in May 2014.

Leakes and husband Greg also recently purchased a $2.1 million house in Sugarloaf Country Clun in Georgia. The IRS could seize the house and other assets if Leakes doesn’t pay up.

Maybe this explains why the house was unfurnished when she provided photos of the mini-mansion on an episode of The View.

Is a week free of insane Azealia Banks-related news really too much to ask for Unfortunately, the rapper is, once again, making headlines by continuing to support skin bleaching.

Though she claimed to quit social media a few weeks ago, Banks took to her Instagram account to promote a skin-whitening product called “Whitenicious.” And I wish I were making this up.

“Are you ready to get rid of unwanted dark spots, ingrown hairs, scars, acne and discoloration?” Banks write in the caption. “Tired of nursing your imperfections but are unsure about how to get rid of them? Look no further! Whitenicious is here!”

The post also comes with a 10% off code for Banks’ fans. Just enter the code, “AZ,” and you, too, can look like a chocolate powdered donut.

A testimonial from a Whitenicious user claims the product made her skin look “healthy” and is not used to manipulate skin complexion. However, if the name wasn’t proof enough, these photos from the official Whitenicious Instagram account sure is.

Azealia Banks was accused of skin bleaching months ago after horrendous photos went viral; she confirmed the rumor soon after. The rapper recently defended the practice in a 20-minute Facebook video and likened it to other body modification and beauty procedures.

“What’s the difference between getting your nose done and changing your skin color? What’s the difference between getting a hair weave and changing your skin color? Nobody was upset when I was wearing 30-inch weaves and tearing out my edges. You guys loved it, but what is the difference? I don’t understand what difference is, because there really isn’t a difference.”

Despite the few hiding behind the “skin health” claim, make no mistake, this product is for the sole purpose of lightening one’s skin. Don’t be like Banks and leave this product on the shelf.

Bishop Eddie Long Reveals Shocking Weight Loss, Says He Doesn’t Eat Food From “Slave Menu” Anymore

Bishop Eddie Long is the talk of the Internet again, but this time it has nothing to do with young boys. It’s over his shocking weight loss.

Bishop Long debuted his new slim physique in a video posted on his Facebook account. According to Long, he gave up the honey biscuits and spicy chicken wings from Popeyes for a healthier lifestyle.

Eddie Long says that his previous way of eating was from the “slave menu” and urges others to follow him and do the same.

“I said to my congregation that I’m going to live to be 100 years old, maybe add a few more years. But you know what, I wasn’t going to get there by stopping by Popeyes,” he said in the video. “That was my weakness. The biscuits with honey and chicken wangs, spicy, and all of that. Many of us are still eating from a slave menu, you need to check that out.”

Bishop Long also added that by eating on a raw vegetable diet he was able to lower his blood pressure and has more energy.

It’s nothing wrong with a person eating right and losing weight, but if I have to look like Bishop Eddie Long to be “healthy,” I will stick with my greasy “chicken wangs” and buttermilk biscuits. This dude looks like a broke down, crackhead version of himself.

North Carolina Man Gets Life in Prison for Driving to Atlanta and Murdering Man Who Finessed Him on the Loud Pack

A North Carolina man who traveled all the way to Atlanta to kill a man who robbed him during a drug deal will be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

28-year-old Antonio Williams was convicted of murder and sentenced to life plus five years in prison for the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Martrell Gay in March 2015, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard said in a news release

The attack occurred over an incident weeks before in which Gay stole $900 from Williams during an attempted marijuana deal. In an effort to seek revenge, Williams drove over 200 miles from N.C. to Georgia and shot Gay inside of a grocery store.

AJC reports:

Police found the 25-year-old shot in the face outside the West End Food Market at 812 Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard on March 7, 2015. Surveillance cameras captured Williams standing outside the store looking through the storefront window before he walked in the store and toward Gay, Howard said.

Inside the store, Howard said cameras watched Williams pull out a handgun. The men were less than three feet away from each other when Williams fired a single shot into Gay’s face, Howard said.

Gay stumbled out of the store and collapsed on the sidewalk, police said. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. After police released video of the suspect, with distinctive blond-streaked dreadlocks, Williams was quickly identified by multiple people.

WTF?!? All of this over some loud? One man is dead and the other is going to be in jail forever. I mean damn, I know the loud be good, but not this damn good!

Jazmine Sullivan Lends Vocals for Frank Ocean’s “Endless” Visual Album

After a very long music hiatus, Frank Ocean released his new visual album Endless on iTunes at midnight.

While fans are in complete awe over the project and the fact Frank finally put something out, Twitter has also been showing love to singer Jazmine Sullivan, who is a featured vocalist on four songs on the album.

Sullivan lends her vocals to the following tracks: “Alabama,” “Wither,” “Hublots,” and “Rushes.”

Frank Ocean fans, the wait is over!

After waiting for what feels like forever, Frank Ocean’s highly anticipated new album is FINALLY here!

The long-awaited follow-up to Ocean’s 2012 debut Channel Orange premiered exclusively via Apple Music in the form of a 45-minute visual album called Endless.

The visual, which takes place in the same warehouse where Frank had been hosting a live stream, is reportedly just the beginning too. According Apple, we should “keep an eye out this weekend for more from Frank.”

No word on what the title “Boys Don’t Cry” has to do with anything (maybe it’s a song on the album?) but it feels good to finally be able to hear AND see something legitimate from Frank Ocean!

Frank Ocean has the whole Internet going crazy right now.

After fans were left disappointed (once again) when Frank’s highly anticipated Boys Don’t Cry album didn’t drop on August 5th, a mysterious video live stream with new unheard music has appeared on Frank’s boysdontcry.co website.

The stream shows Frank building a staircase in a black and white workshop, and features his beautiful vocals, which sound like they were definitely worth the wait.

Chris Hansen Is Back to Catch Child Predators in Action

Back in the early 2000s, the best reality TV show wasn’t on Bravo, MTV or VH1. It was on NBC. Chris Hansen and his To Catch a Predator docuseries was enthralling must-see TV. The show, in cooperation with law enforcement, would lure child predators to what the criminals thought was their victim’s house.

Instead of the perky young thing they were hoping to hook up with walking through the door, out would step Chris Hansen in dramatic fashion as he queried the child predators on their sick, sick, ways.

Though the show was massively popular, it was ultimately cancelled in 2007, due to the liability that it exposed NBC to. The network was in fact sued by the family of a man who killed himself after he was caught in one of the show’s stings.

But the show, due to popular demand, is coming back as an independent series. Chris Hansen launched a Kickstarter last year to fund the initiative and it was successful. And now, one sting operation is already in the can. Fans got a peek at the new material as part of the teaser for the show’s return. However, instead of being called To Catch a Predator, it’ll be called Hansen vs. Predator.

Does Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Star Tommie Lee Have a Crush on Future?

While she was once ride or die for Scrapp, Tommie Lee, the requisite drunk chick on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, signaled to the world that she might just have a thing for Drake’s BFF and Ciara’s baby daddy, Future.

In an interview with TMZ’s Raq Rants, Tommie mentioned that though she’s hit up by plenty of famous men in her DMs, there are some men who’d she’d like to see in her DMs who aren’t currently hitting her up.

The interviewer pressed Tommie for more details and she confirmed that it was a rapper, but refused to give anymore specifics.

That is until it was time to play “Spittin’ Game,” which is basically a word association game. When she was asked to respond to Stevie’s name and face, Tommie called him a weirdo. And when the Game’s name was thrown out there, she said she wasn’t interested.

But when Future was brought up, Tommie instantly turned into a shy school girl and began to play dumb like she didn’t know who he was. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!

Since Ciara has vacated the premises, and since they both have a penchant for being reckless at the mouth and alcoholics, I could definitely see Tommie and Future being the black version of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. And let’s be honest, if Tommie could bring future onto LHHA, that’d be a major key for the show.

But the reality is, Tommie is probably not high enough on the celebrity ladder for Future at this point. Ciara done upgraded to a clean-cut NFL player. Future ain’t gonna go from dating a C-List celebrity to a D-Lister. But she might could be his backstage groupie or somethin’.

Countess Vaughn ended up a trending topic on Twitter today for all the wrong reasons.

The actress turned reality star is no stranger to the spotlight, having been on the scene since the 1980’s and starring in hit sitcoms such as “227,” “Moesha” and “The Parkers.” In recent years, she’s re-emerged via the TV One reality series Hollywood Divas and her expressive personality makes her a staple on social media.

Despite being diagnosed with a thyroid condition that makes her voice hoarse, Countess has decided to embark on a career in music, and this season on Hollywood Divas, she shot a music video for a song she recorded called “Do You Love Him?”

Vaughn finally released the video today, and Twitter can’t stop talking about it.

Based on Countess’ awkward dancing, her signature funny faces, and the “campy” nature of the storyline, some folks are questioning if the video was meant to be a joke, while others are simply asking why it was even created in the first place. Then there are those who seem to genuinely enjoy the overall gift that is Countess Vaughn.

You can take the girl out the strip club, but that doesn’t mean she’s ready to leave… or something like that. The point is: engaged and very pregnant Blac Chyna has no qualms about going back to the pole, if necessary.

Chyna and Rob Kardashian recently did a Facebook Live Q&A. The couple answered several fan questions like “when/where did they meet,” “what pregnancy cravings does Chyna have,” and “which of Rob sisters would be the best babysitter to their unborn child?”

However, things got very interesting when a fan asked what would Chyna be if she weren’t famous. At first, she sarcastically asked if she was famous. After a moment of thought she said this brilliant line: “I would probably be working the strip club.”

“I would probably still be in the strip club. I’m just keeping it real, like I couldn’t be nothing else,” she continued.

Rob Kardashian didn’t seem surprised by the former stripper’s answer and simple said, “That’s alright. I feel you.” He piggybacked off Chyna’s response by stating he’d also be in strip club because “they got the best food.”

So… yeah. Honestly, I don’t know what to say about that particular moment. However, I did find the overall Q&A pretty interesting. We’ve heard rumors about trouble within their relationship and many still have questions regarding how this pairing happened in first place. But, the couple seems to be happy and in good spirits throughout the 14-minute-clip.

Just don’t be surprised to find Blac Chyna back on the pole if everything goes south.

Princess Love Is Tired of People Telling Her She Lost Too Much Weight

While Teiarra Mari is ballooning like the spoiled brat Violet from Willie Wonka, Princess Love has made a commitment to getting very slim and trim.

Ain’t that the devil’s work? Princess Love got the man (Ray J) and the BODY? Teiarra Mari is meanwhile relegated to the second tier on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood and her music career is still on life support.

But some segment of the black community is not happen about Princess’ weight loss. According to these folks, Princess Love was better when she was thicker than a snicker.

The thing is, Princess has never even been fat. But apparently, after giving up alcohol and going vegan, she managed to drop an eye-popping 40 lbs.

Some fans, unfortunately, have not been supportive and let Princess know that they liked her better when she was “fat.”

Well, Princess decided to clap back and let the world know she’s not here for it.

I’m happy with my body and that’s all that matters. I understand that everyone has an opinion and that’s fine.. Not everybody wants to see you win. Princess is to be commended on making a lifestyle change that improves her both on the outside and the inside. Those who like “fat” Princess should go ahead and enjoy their own chubby, flabby reflections in the mirror and let her live.
