DJ Mustard Says It Was Him, Not Ella Mai, Who Removed Jacquees’ “Trip” Remix From YouTube & Soundcloud

DJ Mustard is letting it be known that he was the one who had Jacquees’ viral cover of Ella Mai’s newest hit single “Trip” removed from the internet.

Jacquees, who is known for his “Quemixes,” decided to put his own spin to Ella Mai’s “Trip” and even shot and released a video for the song before she had a chance to.

Ella’s video was uploaded to YouTube last week (Tuesday, September 18th to be exact) and since then, Jacquees’ version has been scrubbed from the web.

Fans on social media started dragging Ella after news spread that she reportedly had Jacquees’ version of the song deleted and allegedly planned to sue him.

But, none of that was true, according to DJ Mustard, and he has since come to the defense of Ella—who is signed to his 10 Summers record label—after folks accused Ella of forcing Jacquees to delete his “Trip” cover/remix from YouTube and Soundcloud because his version had more hits than hers.

In response to the speculation, DJ Mustard decided to set the record straight once and for all because he’s “tired of people picking on” Ella Mai.

“Our artists don’t send cease and desists, we do,” the producer wrote in a Twitter post. “When you monetize content you don’t own you are stealing and no one steals from 10 Summers. Ella had no say in the matter and any platform reporting differently is spreading falsities.”

Jacquees’ team has also responded to the drama with their own statement (via Billboard), confirming that there is no beef between the two artists.

“For the new people who are just catching up to who Jacquees is as an artist, this has become very controversial for no reason,” reads the statement. “We love Ella and are cool with her team as well. He has been releasing not only Quemix songs but entire projects with remixes of other artists’ songs ranging back to 2013. This was an act of genuine support and should not turn into negativity for either of the artist or from their supporters.”

Jacquees also hopes that he and Ella Mai can work on an official collaboration in the near future.

“There is still hope for the song as an official remix or maybe fans will get something better that is an original collaboration,” the statement added.

Jesse Williams Apologizes for Controversial Emmett Till Meme

Jesse Williams faced a lot of backlash on social media after using Emmett Till’s mother in a meme to promote his directorial debut in the upcoming movie Till, a film version of the 2005 documentary “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till” by Keith A. Beauchamp.

The meme parodied Colin Kaepernick’s Nike “Just Do It” ad campaign, using the same “believing in something, even if it means sacrificing everything” format placed on top of pictures featuring Mamie Till-Mobley sobbing over her son Emmett’s casket.

Williams quickly removed the memes after receiving backlash on Twitter and has since apologized for them in a lengthy statement he screenshotted and posted on the popular social media site.

“As much as I’d like to address what my intentions were and the meaning of those images,” Williams said, “it’s more important that I first acknowledge that I seem to have offended and possibly hurt some of the very people I aim to uplift.”

I posted a few images as art in support of the announcement of my upcoming film TiLL, that provoked a strong reaction. While some clearly understood my intention and it’s connection to Mamie’s real life, many didn’t. As much as I’d like to address what my intentions were and the meaning of those images, it’s more important that I first acknowledge that I seem to have offended and possibly hurt some of the very people I aim to uplift.

I would absolutely never make light of the tremendous tragedy that foisted Mamie Till Mobley into her life of activism and could never pretend her child being brutally tortured and executed was her “sacrifice.” That doesn’t even kinda make sense, never mind being absurd and ahistorical.

The images were designed to highlight the tremendous sacrifices Mamie made by sharing her unrelenting journey for justice—including boldly sharing those iconic images from her son’s funeral, which changed the world. I adopted an iconic contemporary visual framework to connect past to present and contextualize our language around loss, leadership and sacrifice. My intent aside, I take responsibility for how they were received.

My heart is always with my people and this includes my artistic commitment to telling our stories. Always have, always will. And while I stand for creative expression, every swing ain’t gonna be a home run. (And y’all know I swing a lot.) Those who are sincere in this work and concern, I thank you.

Doja Cat recently performed her viral hit “Mooo!” for the first time, and fans immediately noticed something about her appearance.

Someone who attended her show in San Antonio, Texas last Sunday (Sep. 16) was kind enough to upload video footage on YouTube, and if you read the comments, everyone pretty much saw the same thing: Doja Cat is THICKA THAN A SNICKA.

“Like I’ve said before and I’ll say again, she thick like a ‘milk shake’ Mooooooo,” wrote YouTube user Predator13. “Oh we didn’t know she was DOUBLE CHEEKED UPPP, DOJA CAME OUT PACKIN A WAGOOONNNNN,” said John Nieto.

Kenneth Shyne said, “Doja Cat out here thicker than frozen peanut butter.” Iceewitdaspice e wrote: “She’s making her bag and having fun that’s all that matters … We love a thic queen.”

In case you didn’t know, Doja Cat isn’t new to this music thing. She’s been releasing songs and performing for years, but “Mooo!” recently made her a household name because of its catchiness and how infectious it is.

She came under fire last month after someone uncovered some old tweets from 2015 showing her using a homophobic slur. Her nonchalant response to the drama didn’t go over well with some people, so he had to apologize again, and then she deleted that lengthy apology and rewrote a much shorter version.

After 16 Seasons on “SNL,” Kenan Thompson Could Be Leaving to Star in His Own NBC Sitcom

Kenan Thompson is the longest-running cast member on Saturday Night Live … EVER.

After sixteen seasons on the show, Kenan won his very first Emmy recently, and now, there are reports that he could be leaving his longtime post on the popular sketch comedy show in favor of his own sitcom on NBC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thompson is eyeing a starring role in his own NBC show called Saving Larry, which will be produced by SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels and Superstore writer Jackie Clark. Thompson will executive produce the series alongside Michaels and Clark.

THR reports:

Should Saving Larry move to series, Thompson would likely exit Saturday Night Live. Sources close to NBC and SNL stress that no decision has been made about Thompson’s future.

It’s worth noting that Saving Larry — which stars Thompson as a father who is left to parent his kids after the death of his wife, with his father-in-law hovering over him — still has to get picked up to pilot and then to series. Ultimately, a final decision would come closer to May when NBC makes its series-order decisions.

That said, SNL castmembers always wind up exiting the show when other projects are picked up to series (see Andy Samberg with Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Bobby Moynihan with Me, Myself and I, among others).

“I think about leaving and I fear it,” Thompson told THR’s Awards Chatter podcast in June. “This is such a special place, you want to do your part here, but you also want to make room for people that are coming behind you. This was the first year I really started feeling like, ‘OK, I could push out of it now.’ Chris Redd is super-duper strong, and I really look forward to his potential on the show. That was the first time I thought, ‘Maybe I should give this dude more room.’ If that’s the case, then it might be time to move on.”

It’s worth noting that Thompson has been a part of several other comedies that would have seen him leaving SNL over the years, however, none of them moved to pilot or series.

The comedic actor, who started his career in scripted comedy with Nickelodeon’s All That and the spinoff Kenan and Kel, previously teamed with his SNL boss Lorne Michaels in 2012 for an NBC single-camera family comedy that never saw the light of day.

However, if NBC does decide to order the series after seeing how the pilot performs, that would most likely mean the end of Thompson’s longtime tenure on SNL, because it would be virtually impossible for him to do both.

Jesse Williams Made a Nike Meme to Promote His New Emmett Till Movie, and Twitter Was NOT Here For It

Actor Jesse Williams took a huge L on Twitter today after he came up with the not-so-bright idea of using a meme to promote his upcoming Emmett Till movie. Any other day, Williams would be considered one of the wokest actors in Hollywood, but, today, it looks like he was caught taking a nap.

In an effort to promote a film about the tragic death of Emmett Till that he’s set to direct, Williams posted an image of Mamie Till-Mobley, Till’s mother, crying at her son’s casket in the style of Nike’s recent “Just Do It” ad campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick.

Williams’ upcoming movie, Till, will focus on the murdered teen’s mother’s search for justice, and is based on Keith A Beauchamp’s 2005 documentary, “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till.”

In his widely-shared meme, Williams wrote in superimposed words “Believe In Something. Even If It Means Sacrificing Everything,” in a style similar to the Colin Kaepernick Nike ad.

The original Nike ad has been turned into numerous memes, so Jesse likely thought to himself: “Hey, this could be a great way to get a lot of attention for this new movie I’m doing about Emmett Till.” Which, as it turns out, he is getting a lot of attention, but probably not the kind he was looking for.

The actor announced Monday (Sep. 24) he would be directing Till, which will be produced by Whoopi Goldberg, according to Deadline. But Williams quickly deleted his announcement about the movie Monday afternoon after receiving backlash in response to the photos he posted.

Williams later replaced his tweets with another announcement about the movie featuring screenshots from Deadline’s article.

He also shared a number Nike ad-like images on Instagram, which he also deleted, except for one featuring Till’s great-uncle Moses Wright at the teen’s murder trial.

“Thank you for taking down those other bullsh*t ass memes. You need to delete this one too. This is not a game. I think you know that,” one Instagram user commented under the meme of Wright in court as he pointed out the men who beat and shot his grand nephew.

Emmett Till was just 14 years old when he was lynched after being accused of flirting with a white woman in Jim Crow-era Mississippi in 1955.

As expected, Twitter dragged Williams for implying that Mamie Till put her son up for an offering to be murdered by racist pigs who were hellbent on believing a lie and murdering a young black boy. Also, memes are usually meant to be funny … and nothing about this incident should be considered humorous by any means at any time.

Leslie Jones Goes Off on Kevin Hart & Katt Williams: “None of Those N***as Put Me On!”

Leslie Jones did not take too kindly to being name-dropped by Kevin Hart amid his feud with Katt Williams.

On Friday, during an interview with the Breakfast Club, Kevin Hart went in on Katt Williams in response to his comments about Tiffany Haddish’s career. In that same interview, Hart also claimed that Leslie Jones was one of the many female comedians who were “underneath the umbrella of Katt Williams,” but said Katt didn’t help her make it.

“So when you say Tiffany Haddish doesn’t deserve, or isn’t really a comedian, and these other women have worked hard, which they have,” he said. “Shoutouts to Melanie Comarcho, shoutouts to Luenell, shoutouts to Leslie Jones, who are all underneath the umbrella of Katt Williams. Katt Williams, have you ever used your platform to f***ing bring the people that were under you up? You haven’t!”

Well, according to Bossip, Leslie was most certainly not here for being brought into Kevin and Katt’s beef. Read her statement below, in which she calls out both Kevin and Katt for not doing their part to help female comics:

“Real talk both of them n***as need to keep my name out they mouth unless they using it to eat my p***y REAL TALK!! None of those n***as put me on or any woman. While he talking about Katt, what did he do to put women on? He didn’t help females, they [weren’t] on his tour, F*** THAT N***A!! At least Katt put me on his tour. Leslie didn’t stop there either. She went on to say that neither Katt nor Kevin helped with her career; Chris Rock was the one who really put her on, and even then, she still had to work hard to get to where she is today.

WATCH: Tiger Woods Kisses Girlfriend Erica Herman After First Tour Championship Win in 5 Years

Tiger Woods captured the Tour Champion title on Sunday (Sep. 23), marking his first win in five years, and he celebrated the momentous occasion with a PDA moment with his girlfriend Erica Herman.

After giving an emotional post-match interview, Woods met up with Herman, who looked very happy to congratulate her beau, who was sporting a huge smile across his face. Herman flung her arms around Woods’ neck and the two shared a lengthy brace and told each other “I love you.” After pulling away from one another, they kissed.

“It’s been tough,” Woods said after the event. “I’ve had a not-so-easy last couple of years and I’ve worked my way back and … it’s just hard to believe I’ve won the Tour Championship.”

His comeback has been several years in the making after his career took a downward spiral following a cheating scandal and ugly breakup with ex-wife Elin Nordegren. He later joined a 45-day therapy program.

“I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to do,” Woods said in 2010. “I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled.”

Woods dated Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn for over two years after the two met in 2012 at a charity event.

The pro golfer was arrested for driving under the influence last year after authorities found him asleep at the wheel not too far from his home in Jupiter Island, Florida.

Following his May 2017 arrest, in which he told officers he had a bad reaction to prescription drugs, Woods said in July that he had sought treatment to deal with issues regarding his medication.

Woods, 42, and Herman, 33, have been dating for more than a year. They have been spotted on various dates together, grabbing sushi in California and even hitting up a baseball game. The couple took their relationship public—officially—when they attended the Presidents Cup together last fall, where Herman was spotted wearing a “Player Spouse” badge.

Herman has since accompanied Woods to many other events, and the two have been spotted out on numerous occasions, like back in December 2017 when Herman was seen with Woods’ two children at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. The paparazzi have also caught them on various dates in California and in Florida.

This year, Herman, who met Woods through work (she was the general manager of his Jupiter, Florida restaurant The Woods), has been spotted cheering for her man from the gallery at various courses. According to TMZ, Herman no longer works at Woods’ restaurant.

Regarding the seriousness of their relationship, a source previously told People that Woods doesn’t plan on getting married again after his split from Nordegren in 2009.

“No one has signed any paperwork,” People’s insider said. “It’s not like they’re pledging their lives to each other. But she’s really nice and Tiger likes her. Tiger doesn’t like to be alone… But he doesn’t like to settle. Not anymore. So when he’s with someone, he really needs to be into her.”

Demi Lovato Spotted Out for the First Time Since Near-Fatal Drug Overdose

Today marks exactly two months since Demi Lovato was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after overdosing on drugs, and it looks like she’s doing a lot better these days.

Lovato was photographed for the first time since her overdose back in July early Sunday (Sep. 23) while she was out for a walk during her day pass from her rehab facility.

In the photo, obtained by TMZ, Demi—with a large coffee cup in her hand and wearing an olive-green shirt, black leggings, white sneakers, and a black cap—looks pretty happy while conversing with a lady walking her dog.

Eyewitnesses previously told TMZ that Demi had been seen at the local Starbucks fairly regularly lately, but she usually isn’t alone.

Sometimes she heads to the coffee shop with other patients from her rehab facility, which utilizes group therapy as part of its treatment plan. But she’s also reportedly been spotted there with her ex Wilmer Valderrama, who has flown in “several times” to see her at rehab on visiting days and has become a “constant presence” for her.

A source close to Demi told TMZ the exes haven’t reignited their relationship, as Wilmer is just there for her right now as a friend.

As previously reported, the 25-year-old Disney Channel alum was hospitalized in Los Angeles on July 24th after paramedics who were called to her Hollywood Hills home found her unconscious after an apparent overdose.

According to TMZ, her drug dealer allegedly gave her “aftermarket pills” that appeared to be laced with fentanyl, which caused her to OD. Sources close to the singer say that Narcan, which is used to treat narcotic overdoses, was administered to Lovato, and it saved her life.

Lovato’s overdose came a month after the singer revealed in her new single “Sober” that she had relapsed after six years of sobriety. Lovato, who has been open about her struggles with addiction, being bipolar, and an eating disorder, first checked into rehab in 2010 at the age of 18 and entered a sober house for about a year in 2013.

She went straight to a long-term facility on the East Coast after leaving the hospital at the beginning of August before quietly transferring to another facility that is world-renowned for its addiction programs. She broke her silence on August 5th, posting a message to fans on Instagram.

“I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction. What I’ve learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet,” she wrote. “I want to thank God for keeping me alive and well. To my fans, I am forever grateful for all of your love and support throughout this past week and beyond. Your positive thoughts and prayers have helped me navigate through this difficult time. I want to thank my family, my team, and the staff at Cedars-Sinai who have been by my side this entire time. Without them I wouldn’t be here writing this letter to all of you.”

She concluded, “I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”

Demi’s mother, Dianna De La Garza, opened up about her daughter’s near-fatal overdose in an interview with Newsmax TV on September 18th. She said her “heart dropped” when she received the news from Lovato’s assistant. “She said Demi overdosed. So I was in shock. I didn’t know what to say. It was something I never, ever expected to hear as a parent about any of my kids,” De La Garza said. “I said, ‘Is she OK?’ And she stopped for a second and she said, ‘She’s conscious, but she’s not talking.’ I knew at that point that we were in trouble.”

Demi’s mother admitted, “We just didn’t know for two days if she was going to make it or not.” Thankfully, however, Demi is doing much better now. “She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs,” her mom said. “That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

SiriusXM Satellite Radio to Buy Pandora for $3.5 Billion to Get Into Music Streaming Business

These days, digital music streaming is business, and the satellite radio service SiriusXM wants in on it. So, instead of building their own platform from scratch, they are putting up $3.5 billion to buy Pandora in an all-stock deal to battle heavyweight streaming rivals Spotify and Apple Music.

Reuters reports:

Sirius XM, controlled by media mogul John Malone’s Liberty Media Corp, has built a name supplying more than 175 channels to car drivers, but has largely trailed Pandora and Spotify Technology SA (SPOT.N) in mobile and streaming content.

Monday’s deal gives the pair a market value of about $34 billion, topping Spotify’s $31.2 billion and follows through on Sirius’ purchase of a 15 percent preferred-stock stake in Pandora for $480 million last year.

Shares in Pandora, which has posted losses for at least the past eight quarters, initially soared 18.4 percent to $10.75 in premarket trading, topping an offer value of $10.05 based on Sirius’ Friday closing price. Sirius shares, however, fell 5 percent to $6.63 as investors worried the company had overpaid.

The deal, worth $2.68 billion at that offer price, is expected to generate more than $7 billion in expected pro-forma revenue in 2018. Analysts said the two businesses were largely complementary.

“SIRI cannot offer on-demand radio, and cannot offer customization, and Pandora offers both,” said Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Securities in Los Angeles. “Sirius can merge Pandora’s radio business into its satellite subscription business, and can also begin to offer on-demand to its large installed base of satellite subscribers.”

Pandora shareholders will receive a fixed-exchange ratio of 1.44 newly-issued SiriusXM shares for each share they hold. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019.

This acquisition is interesting, considering Pandora, which launched as “Savage Beast Technologies” way back in 2000, was the first big player in the music streaming business, however, they failed to capitalize on that advantage in a way that could produce a nice profit.

Despite tough competition from other music services such as Spotify and Apple Music, Pandora had nearly 6 million paid subscribers as of May. Roughly 71 million people use Pandora’s free, ad-supported service.

Meanwhile, SiriusXM currently has roughly 36 million paid subscribers in North America, and Pandora’s large listener base of 77 million users will be a welcome addition to SiriusXM’s business. The combined company will tout more than 100 million listeners.

“We have long respected Pandora and their team for their popular consumer offering that has attracted a massive audience, and have been impressed by Pandora’s strategic progress and stronger execution,” Sirius XM’s chief executive Jim Meyer said in a statement.

“We believe there are significant opportunities to create value for both companies’ stockholders by combining our complementary businesses. The addition of Pandora diversifies SiriusXM’s revenue streams with the U.S.’s largest ad-supported audio offering, broadens our technical capabilities, and represents an exciting next step in our efforts to expand our reach out of the car even further,” Meyer said.

SiriusXM said there won’t be any changes to its satellite offerings or to Pandora subscriptions right now, however, that could change in the future. The two services will also reportedly keep their individual brands, though that might become an issue for the company later on down the road.

“The powerful combination of SiriusXM’s content, position in the car, and premium subscription products, along with the biggest audio streaming service in the U.S., will create the world’s largest audio entertainment company,” Pandora CEO Roger Lynch said in a statement. “This transaction will deliver significant value to our stockholders and will allow them to participate in upside, given SiriusXM’s strong brand, financial resources and track record delivering results.”

Young Thug’s “On The Rvn” EP is finally here! As promised, the rapper has blessed his fans with the release of a new project, just a little over a month after releasing Slime Language.

On The Rvn was originally set to be released on September 11th, but that ended up being the day he turned himself in to DeKalb County police in Georgia after they put out an arrest warrant for him related to his indictment on 8 felony drug charges stemming from his September 2017 arrest when he was caught with a medley of drugs in possession. He was released from jail two days later after a judge approved his bail.

Thug teased the EP’s official release late Sunday on Instagram with the caption “#OnTheRvn midnight” accompanied by a trailer showing what he’s been going through over the past few weeks.

It looks like Tory Lanez is Joseline’s rebound after she and her baby daddy Stevie J officially broke things off in December 2016, just a few days before she gave birth to their daughter Bonnie Bella. Stevie J has clearly moved on from the relationship as well, because he and Faith Evans tied the knot in a secret “quickie wedding” in Las Vegas back in July.

In a separate interview with Bossip earlier this month, Joseline said she and Stevie are not currently on speaking terms and he owes child support for eight months. She also claimed that the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star hasn’t seen their 21-month-old daughter in five months.

Dwyane Wade: I’m Returning to the Miami Heat & Retiring After 2019 NBA Season

Dwyane Wade says the upcoming 2019 NBA Season will be his last … because he is retiring after 16 seasons in the league.

Last Sunday (Sep. 16), Dwyane Wade hit NBA fans right in the feels by announcing his retirement. He also announced that he has decided to return to the team that kicked off his NBA career: The Miami Heat.

Wade was drafted by the Miami Heat, and he played 13 straight seasons with them before taking his talents to his hometown of Chicago and then Cleveland to play one more time with his former Heat teammate LeBron James. In an emotional announcement, the 12-time NBA All-Star declared that the upcoming 2018-2019 season will be his last before retiring.

“This is the hardest decision that I’ve ever had to make, but it’s one of the best decisions that I’ve had to make as well,” Wade said in a nearly 10-minute video posted on his YouTube channel. “To be in this position I’m in, to have the career that I’ve had, I can’t do nothing but smile on it.”

In the video, titled “One Last Dance…”, Wade—clad in a black t-shirt that read #SPOTLIGHTON and standing in front of a dark background—said he used the summer to reflect on his future. He opened the video by saying: “When you first come in the league the vets tell you, ‘Young fella, it’s gonna go by fast.’ You think at that time, ‘Nah, I’m just getting started.’ As I stand here today, September 16th at roughly 1:15 pm, I’m here to tell you, it goes by fast.”

Wade fought back tears as he revealed the death of his agent, Hank Thomas, made him feel like he lost a part of himself. And even though being traded back to Miami helped fill the void a little, he’s ready to see what else his career has in store for him off the court.

“I always did things my way,” Wade said. “Whether they’ve been good or they’ve been bad, I got here because I’ve done things the way that I feel is right for me and right for my family. He added, “I feel it’s right to ask you guys to join me for one last dance, one last season. This is it. I’ve given this game everything that I have, and I’m happy about that, and I’m going to give it for one last season.”

Wade—who already leads the Miami Heat in games (876), minutes played (31,027), points (20,473) assists (5,009), and steals (1,433)—will enter his final season with career averages of 22.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. He’s also one of just nine players in league history with more than 20,000 total points, 5,000 assists, 4,000 rebounds, and 1,500 steals, according to Basketball-Reference.

The Mami Heat announced last Tuesday (Sep. 18) that Wade had signed his contract to make his decision to retire official. According to an NBA source, he will play on a one-year $2.4 million veteran’s minimum deal.

“We are very delighted that Dwyane decided to return,” Heat president Pat Riley said in a statement. “I believe that Dwyane can play a big part in us winning, that’s what he is all about. I’m glad he’s back.”

World, Stop! Beyoncé & LaTavia Roberson Reunite at “OTR II” Show in Houston, Texas

Wayment. So this REALLY happened?! Yup, it sure did!!

Beyoncé updated her official website today with a bunch of new photos from her and JAY-Z’s On The Run II Tour stop in Houston, Texas … and among the pics were some showing her reuniting with yet ANOTHER former Destiny’s Child bandmate: LaTavia Roberson!

In case you missed it (or forgot), Beyoncé made headlines last week when she posed for a couple of pictures backstage with (a very pregnant) former DC4 member LeToya Luckett. And now, she’s doing it all over again with LaTavia!

 

Beyoncé’s reunion with LaTavia was teased when Roberson was spotted in the VIP section of the audience at the second Houston show Sunday night (Sep. 16).

This reunion was a LONG time coming, apparently. LaTavia re-posted the photos on her Instagram, writing in the caption of one that she hadn’t seen Bey in almost two decades:

“It was so wonderful sharing a laugh and spending time with my FRIEND of 30 yrs…..hadn’t seen Bey in 18 yrs. My mother @cheryl_lastrap is clearly tickled. The children are amazing…”

Just last month, LaTavia posted on Twitter that she was tired of being called “bitter” by Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child fans.

And a few months before that, she posted a throwback photo of Destiny’s Child on Instagram, again, saying that she’s tired of being called “the bitter one.”

Anywho… The Carters have four shows coming up in California, which just so happens to be Farrah Franklin’s home state. The internet would literally break if she invited her out to one of the shows and reunited with her backstage. I’m sure Farrah would accept the invitation.

Kaiden Lee-Welch: Quick Facts About 1-Year-Old Swept Away in Hurricane Florence Floodwaters

Search teams have recovered the body of a 1-year-old North Carolina boy who was swept away in rushing floodwaters from Hurricane Florence Sunday evening (Sep. 16).

Kaiden Lee-Welch was declared “missing” Sunday night, and after an hours-long search, his body was found Monday morning not far from where he and his mother encountered floodwaters in the small town of Marshville, NC.

Here’s what you need to know:

1Kaiden Lee-Welch’s mother, Dazia Lee, said she drove around a barricade and lost control of her car after encountering floodwaters.

Dazia Lee was driving along North Carolina Highway 218 with her 14-month-old son, Kaiden Lee-Welch, to visit family when they arrived at a barricade around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night (Sep. 16).

Officials said Lee drove around a barricade that was blocking off a flooded road in the small town of Marshville (about an hour outside of Charlotte), and lost control of her car after the floodwaters took the vehicle and pushed it into a tree.

Lee later told officials that she drove around the barricade because it was slightly tilted to the side, and she thought the road was safe for travel.

Lee was able to free her son from his car seat, and they both got out of the car, but she lost her grip in the rough waters.

“I was hydroplaning. I was trying to do everything I could and it got worse when water gets in your car. You start to panic, you start to freak, you think you’re sinking fast. Everything just happened too fast,” Lee told Channel 9 News.

“When [the] water came in I was trying to calm my son. He was confused, that’s all he was. He was just confused but I told him it’s okay, don’t panic, even though I was panicking, I told him don’t panic,” Lee said.

“I was holding his hand, trying to hold him, trying to pull him up,” Lee told FOX 46. “I couldn’t hold on anymore, and he let go.”

The 1-year-old was swept away in the rushing waters of Richardson Creek.

Paramedics on the scene also had to be rescued when their ambulance got caught in the floodwaters.

2Kaiden’s body was found in about 10 feet of water. He was pinned between the car’s front bumper and a tree.

After losing control of her car and witnessing her baby being swept away in Hurricane Florence’s floodwaters, Dazia Lee was rescued and taken to the hospital.

Rescue teams spent several hours searching for the baby boy Sunday night, but Kaiden was nowhere to be found. They called off the search to wait for daylight.

Dive teams were sent out Monday morning, and that’s when they found the boy’s lifeless body near a flooded soybean field, not too far from the car, The Charlotte Observer reported.

Officials said Kaiden’s body was found pinned between the car’s front bumper and a tree in about 10 feet of water.

3Kaiden was Dazia Lee’s only child, who she described as “the sweetest boy you could ever have.”

Sadly, Kaiden Lee-Welch was Dazia’s Lee only child. “He had really changed my life,” Lee told local NBC affiliate WCNC. “He’s my only child and now he’s gone.”

Lee told NBC Charlotte she would never put her child in harm’s way, but because she’s not from that area, and the barricade wasn’t in the road as it should have been, she had no idea the danger that lied ahead.

“I was about to detour, but I stopped. I saw cars coming in and out, so I thought it was safe,” Lee said, holding back tears. Lee said she was driving on that road to bring Kaiden to visit his great-grandmother.

“She was a stranger to the area, driving to just be with her family,” the Sheriff said. “Her car got caught in the water and was forced onto an open field.”

Lee said Sunday night is a night she never wants to talk about again. “All I know is I’ve been traumatized, I’ve been through so much. There’s no more that I can take,” she said.

“He’s the sweetest boy you could ever have,” Lee choked through tears to FOX 46. “I did everything I could from the moment I was pregnant to the moment I lost him.”

Buffalo Bills’ Vontae Davis Explains Bizarre Halftime Retirement: “Reality Hit Me Fast and Hard, I Shouldn’t Be Out There Anymore”

Buffalo Bills Cornerback Vontae Davis raised a lot of eyebrows with his bizarre halftime during Sunday’s (Sep. 16) game against the Los Angeles Chargers, which ended in a 31-20 loss.

30-year-old Davis, who signed with the Bills this offseason and was inactive for Week 1, reportedly “put on his street clothes” during halftime, “said he was quitting and left the stadium,” ESPN reporter Chris Mortensen wrote on Twitter, responding to this tweet from Buffalo Bills beat reporter Mike Rodak: “[Bills Linebacker] Lorenzo Alexander says he was told at start of second half that Vontae Davis quit and retired.”

In a post-game interview with SportsCenter, Lorenzo Alexander said Davis’ quitting in the middle of the game (which they ended up losing) was “completely disrespectful to all of his teammates.” Alexander added, “[Davis] didn’t say nothing to nobody. You know as much as I know. I know I found out going into the second half of the game. He said he was not coming out, he retired.”

Hours after his abrupt exit, Davis released a statement via the NFL’s official Twitter account.

“This isn’t how I pictured retiring from the NFL,” he wrote. “But today on the field, reality hit me and hard. I shouldn’t be out there anymore.”

Davis said he didn’t mean to disrespect his teammates and coaches—some of whom took it as disrespect.

“I hold myself to a standard. Mentally, I always expect myself to play at a high level,” he wrote. “But physically, I know today that isn’t possible and I had an honest moment with myself. While I was on the field, I just didn’t feel right, and I told the coaches, ‘I’m not feeling like myself.’”

Bils coach Sean McDermott was just as confused as everyone else. “[He] pulled himself out of the game. He communicated to us that he was done,” McDermott told reporters.

Bills Defensive Tackle Kyle Williams said he’s never experienced something like this before. “I think the only thing to say is he’s where he needs to be right now,” Williams said. Asked where that was, he responded: “That’s not here, point blank and simple.”

Watch the First 6 Minutes of Black Ink Crew’s Season 7 Premiere

We’re just days away from the Black Ink Crew (New York) Season 7 premiere, and VH1 is teasing fans by previewing the first six minutes of the episode.

The clip opens up with Ceaser throwing a block party at his 113th street shop in Harlem to celebrate the upcoming launch of a new shop in New Orleans. “You heard right! Four shops, bitches!” Ceaser says excitedly. “Now I have 113th, 125th, ATL, and New Or-leans!”

When the party moves inside the shop, the cameras cut to Alex and Donna tonguing each other down. “Dayummmmm!” Kitty says. “Is she gonna come up for air?!” Apparently, the two have gotten extremely close ever since professing their love to one another since the Miami trip at the end of Season 6. “I just love everything about this man,” says Donna.

Because Sky can’t do anything without being extra, she makes a huge grand entrance by being carried into the shop on a platform being held up by four shirtless men. “I am the Empress of Black Ink, so of course I deserve the same royal treatment that Ceaser got the last time he opened up a shop,” she says. “Therefore, I’m here with these half-naked servants to celebrate the grand opening of Black Ink New Orleans, bitches!”

Things are still pretty tense between Tati and the rest of the cast, so when she walks in with an emotional support dog, the jokes start flying. “I need emotional support,” she explains, because “I don’t know what to expect from some of you guys.”

Knowing exactly what she’s talking about, everyone says “Ooh!” and looks at Jadah. If you’ll remember, Jadah jumped on her in Miami for allegedly messing around with Teddy. Then, lest we forget, we’re treated to a montage of Tati being attacked by Young Bae and Donna, and, of course, the Jadah incident.

The Black Ink Crew Season 7 Episode 1 preview ends with Ceaser announcing that he’ll be taking some of the crew to New Orleans to help open the new shop, while others will stay behind to watch over the New York shops.

Moniece Slaughter Is Begging to Be Released From Her “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood” Contract

Moniece Slaughter wants out of her Love & Hip Hop Hollywood contract, and she’s begging Mona Scott Young’s team to make it happen ASAP.

Moniece took to social media recently to ask her LHHH bosses to relieve her of her reality show duties.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, Moniece thanked the LHHH team for providing her with the opportunity to “financially provide for myself and my son,” but she feels like it’s time for her to move on.

Moniece said she’s tried to get out of her contract in the past, but was “told no to a clean release.” And after shopping around for other reality TV opportunities and not being able to find any other shows to be a part of, she said she returned “to ensure my son was taken care of.”

While shooting Season 5, Moniece said she had a “complete mental breakdown” and chose to admit herself to outpatient therapy and put herself on medication.

“But today, I’m in a place where I absolutely can not take any more. For any reason. I’m miserable,” she wrote. “I have completely run out of steam. I have no more to give to this franchise. It’s sucked the life out of me. My depression. My anxiety. My sleep deprivation. My weight loss… are at an all-time high. And with a slightly teary stare, I am begging you. Humbly. Desperately. Please. Moniece Slaughter wants out of her Love & Hip Hop Hollywood contract, and she’s begging Mona Scott Young’s team to make it happen. [Release] me. I don’t know how else to drive it home. But I feel like I’ve run out of options.”

She ended her message saying that she’s “thankful for 5 amazing seasons” but she’s ready to move on for her own sanity. “I neeeeeeeeddddd to be released,” she said.

Katt Williams Says Wanda Smith’s Husband Pulled a Gun Out on Him

It sounds like Atlanta radio personality Wanda Smith’s husband was not amused by Katt Williams’ epic roast of his wife on the radio the other day.

According to reports, the husband of the “Frank and Wanda in the Morning” co-host allegedly pulled out a gun on Williams at a comedy show in ATL Saturday night (Sep. 15).

The internet was treated to a hilarious exchange between Katt Williams and Wanda Smith, in which Williams cracked a number of jokes about Smith’s weight, her wig, and her cooking skills.

Katt was apparently there for an interview, but it turned into a brutal roasting session when Smith defended comedic actress Tiffany Haddish after Williams said Haddish wasn’t really that funny, and her fame was because “she wanna sleep with a white man.”

Video clips of the tense back-and-forth between Williams and Smith went viral on social media Friday, garnering millions of views in less than 24 hours.

The following evening, outside the Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross, GeorgiaSmith’s husband, LaMorris Williams, confronted Katt about the many digs he took at his wife, and even allegedly went as far as threatening him with a gun.

According to Sandra Rose:

LaMorris introduced himself to Williams as Smith’s husband, according to witnesses. Williams was in the club to support fellow comedian Red Grant who performed that night.

LaMorris, who was accompanied by the couple’s sons, didn’t open fire on the comedian, but Gwinnett police responded to the club and took a statement from Williams. LaMorris was gone by the time police arrived.

When interviewed by police, Sellers said that Williams had a verbal fight with Smith, and Williams “indicated he wanted to fight,” according to the police report. Sellers reportedly approached Williams and chased him into the parking lot of the Food Depot, then turned back to the Atlanta Comedy Club.

Sellers admitted to having a gun, however, he said he never pulled it out on Williams. He said the gun simply fell from his waistband while he was chasing Williams. Sellers denied pointing a gun at anyone.

Police said no independent witnesses came forward to corroborate Williams or Seller’s account of events. Surveillance video from the Food Depot showed Sellers chasing Williams into the store, but didn’t show Sellers holding a gun, police said.

The Atlanta Comedy Theater has surveillance cameras, but they weren’t accessible at the time the police report was filed. Williams told police that he didn’t want to press any charges over the incident, but if the club’s cameras showed any crimes were committed, charges could be filed.

Wanda recalled the weekend’s events Monday morning (Sep. 17) on the radio, and said that Katt wasn’t even supposed to be doing an interview with them Friday. She said she and Frank were interviewing Red Grant from “Leprechaun in the Hood” when they heard Katt was in the building, and Wanda convinced him to come into the studio.

Smith said this was her first time meeting him, and she respected him as a big-time comic. She said she was shocked, however, when the comedian started going in on her.

“I am not playing victim,” Smith said (via AJC). “I am not a jokester like that. I don’t know how to do that. He did it. He won. It threw me off.”

Atlanta Comedy Theater owner Gary Abdo said he was in the V-103 studio when the exchange between Smith and Williams went down and said it was really tense between them. The interview led to Saturday night at the comedy club, where Smith is a regular host.

Smith said when Williams saw her outside the club, he walked up to her and said, “I told you f****n’ with me will make you go viral!” She said that’s when her husband got upset, but she couldn’t go into details on air for legal reasons.

Some V-103 listeners supported Smith, saying Williams’ behavior was inappropriate. “You invited hatred in,” one caller said. “He did not come in love. You guys were the portal.”

Others, however, said that as a fellow comic, Smith should be able to handle the jokes. Another caller said she “can dish it but can’t take it.”

Ski defended himself for not ending the interview early because, at the time, he didn’t think anything was wrong. “I just see two comedians going back and forth,” Ski said. “I’m okay,” Smith said.

Tiffany Haddish wasn’t the only person on the receiving end of a verbal assault from Katt Williams on Friday’s (Sep. 14) “Frank and Wanda In The Morning” radio show. The Emmy Award-winning comedian also went in on one of the show’s hosts, Wanda Smith.

It all started when Katt made a joke about Wanda’s cooking skills. Katt asked her how many kids she has, and she told him she has “three boys.” He said, “Ain’t boys simple?” She replied, “Uhm… they could be.” Then Katt said, “She didn’t do as much cooking in the latter years” as she did in the beginning. Wanda snapped back, “Aww, whatever, I cook, I do it all.”

Katt said, “I didn’t say that you didn’t” as Wanda explained how she cooked for her sons “in the beginning, the middle, and the end.” From there, you could tell this interview was about to go way left.

Red Grant from “Leprechaun in the Hood” then asked her what her sons’ favorite meal from her was, probably in an attempt to stop this Wanda vs. Katt thing from going any further. But Katt couldn’t help himself when she said her sons loved her “broccoli and baked chicken.” He let out a chuckle and said that broccoli is the easiest thing in the world to make, because its main ingredient is hot water.

“Have you ever heard of burned broccoli? Can you burn broccoli??” Katt asked. “You can’t burn it because it’s made in a pot of water.”

Then he made a joke about her next best dish being corn. “What I do with corn… I like to [get] it out that can, and I put it in there. And then I get a can of water, then I put it on there. And then I get some Zatarain’s, they don’t expect that.”

Wanda then talked about Katt going to jail and threw shade at his hair. “Hurry up and get to the salon. Your hair is kinda…” she said before bursting into laughter.

Katt, however, was clearly not amused, as he kicked off a roasting session that lasted at least two minutes while her co-host and the show’s guest laughed hysterically in the background.

Katt Williams: “My hair is 19 inches long and I have no perm. Oops.”

Wanda Smith: “You don’t? That’s not a perm?”

Katt: “No, it is is not, nice lady. Come run one of your gnarled fingers … while you’re on air, so they can hear you lie.”

Wanda: “Come over here.”

Katt: “No, no, no… that’s now that works.”

Wanda: “Oh, OK, well then stay over there.”

Katt: “Don’t worry, ain’t nobody puttin’ their hands through yours.”

Wanda: “That’s right, they don’t have to. I don’t want them to. Get on out of here! You OK?”

Katt: “Only one of our hair is moving while we talk.”

Wanda: “Are you alright this morning?”

Katt: “Tell Wanda to take off them headphones and that wig. That wig and them headphones go together?”

And that was just the first minute! He also called her “The Black Lane Bryant” and told her that he was “not the one” to go back-and-forth with. He also said: “If you can’t get your blood pressure down, you can’t calm me down. Your cholesterol is 600 … You probably shouldn’t talk about sizes. Youg big on the radio.”

Wanda responded saying that he was “big in prison,” and Katt clapped back letting her know that he’s never been to prison, only jail (and there is a difference). “19 felonies, no convictions, knock it off, prison and jail is not the same,” he said.

Black Ink Crew (New York) is back for an all-new season full of new drama, and ahead of the Season 7 premiere, VH1 has released the full supertrailer giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect.

In the extended sneak peek, Sky is all “life is all about celebration,” but it looks like the festivities are going to be cut short when her son Dez reveals that he wants to enlist in the Army. Since getting together with Alex, Donna is falling more in love everyday. However, trouble soon finds paradise when the free-spirited tattoo artist seemingly goes back to her old ways.

Ted went from Sky to Jadah Blue, to shop manager Tati but after some unexpected news, he may need to make a U-turn back to his blue-haired bae. The whole crew is shocked to hear that Jadah is with child, and Ted needs to guard his head because Tati has good aim. The shop welcomes Tokyo Renee, a body painter who Donna and Melody feel is crazy, so crazy, that Jadah throws hands with her. In lighter news, business is booming and Cease is ready to open up another shop, but those NOLA dreams quickly turn into a nightmare.

Bae gives birth, O’S**t and Cease’s brotherly bond may be a wrap, Walt gets fired, and who is that man Ceaser is fighting with?
