Top 10 College Football Playoff Rankings Remain Unchanged for First Time in History: Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame & Michigan Still Top 4!

After a winning week in college football, the Top 10 CFP (College Football Playoff) Rankings remained unchanged in Tuesday’s release of the third list. This is the first time in the history of the rankings that has happened.

Alabama (10-0), Clemson (10-0), Notre Dame (10-0) and Michigan (9-1) kept their spots in the top four, with Georgia (9-1) and Oklahoma (9-1) keeping their positions on the list as well at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Alabama is the #1 team in the country for the 15th time in 28 rankings, and they, along with Clemson (#2) and Notre Dame (#3), remain undefeated.

“These are complete teams,” committee chair Rob Mullens said when asked about the gap between Alabama and Clemson. “We spent a lot of time talking about it. They are both top-10 offenses, top-10 defenses, but at this point, everyone has Alabama one, Clemson two.”

LSU (#7), Washington State (#8), West Virginia (#9) and Ohio State (#10) stayed the course as well, rounding out the top 10.

More via ESPN:

There was shuffle beyond the top 10, with some losses dropping a few teams and knocking out others altogether.

But first, those that gained. Undefeated UCF climbed up one spot to No. 11, as did Syracuse to No. 13. Penn State climbed six spots, up to No. 14, after a 22-10 win over Wisconsin.

UCF’s No. 11 ranking is the highest for a Group of Five team in the CFP’s history.

“You can’t avoid the fact that strength of schedule is an issue when compared to the other teams,” Mullens said of UCF.

Iowa State also climbed six spots to No. 16 after its fifth straight win. Texas is No. 15 this week, up three spots.

But Washington was the biggest climber, coming in at No. 18 — up from No. 25 last week.

Some teams dropped after performances last week: Kentucky slipped from No. 11 to No. 17 after falling to unranked Tennessee, and Florida slipped two spots to No. 15 after a close win against South Carolina. Boston College is No. 20, three spots down from last week, following a 27-7 home loss to Clemson. Another SEC team slipped five spots: Mississippi State, down to No. 21 from No. 16 after a 24-0 shutout loss to the Crimson Tide on Saturday.

Utah is back in the rankings at No. 19 while Northwestern made its CFP debut this season as No. 22.

Michigan State, NC State, Fresno State and Auburn fell out of the rankings altogether.

There was movement among Group of Five teams this week, with Boise State debuting at No. 25 after defeating Fresno State. The Mountain West conference also has representative Utah State at No. 23. And Cincinnati came in at No. 24 this week.

At this point, you’re probably wondering what the College Football Playoffs schedule could potentially look like.

While nothing has been confirmed—as there are still two weeks left in the season and even though the top 6 teams are VERY good, college football is extremely unpredictable—here’s what the bracket would look like today (via ESPN):

And, unless something changes, this will be the schedule:

Saturday, December 29th

Noon ET: Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: No. 12 Syracuse vs. No. 9 West Virginia (Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta)

4 p.m. ET: College Football Playoff semifinal at the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic: No. 4 Michigan vs. No. 1 Alabama (AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas)

8 p.m. ET: College Football Playoff semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl: No. 3 Notre Dame vs. No. 2 Clemson (Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida)

Tuesday, January 1st

1 p.m. ET: PlayStation Fiesta Bowl: No. 11 UCF vs. No. 7 LSU (State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona)

5 p.m. ET: Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual: No. 8 Washington State vs. No. 10 Ohio State (Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California)

8:45 p.m. ET: Allstate Sugar Bowl: No. 6 Oklahoma vs. No. 5 Georgia (Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans)

The 2019 College Football Playoff National Championship game will be held on Monday, January 7th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Potential CFP Championship game match-ups include: Alabama vs. Clemson, Alabama vs. Notre Dame, Michigan vs. Clemson or Michigan vs. Notre Dame.

Who do you think will be playing in the National Championship?

Warriors Suspend Draymond Green Without Pay After Fight With Kevin Durant

Draymond Green will sit out tonight’s game against the Atlanta Hawks because the Golden State Warriors has suspended him without pay following his heated verbal exchange with teammate Kevin Durant during and after yesterday’s overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Warriors said in a press release that Green’s conduct was “detrimental to the team,” which is why he is being suspended without pay.

According to ESPN reporter Bobby Marks, the one-game team suspension will cost Green $120,480.

Via Sports Illustrated:

The exchange started after Green collected a rebound with six seconds left and instead of passing to Durant, who was calling for the ball, turned the ball over with the game on the line. The Warriors eventually lost the game 121–116 in overtime, their second defeat in the last three games.

Green reportedly called Durant “a b*tch” repeatedly after Durant called him out on the decision. Green also reportedly challenged Durant about the two-time Finals MVP’s impending free agency.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears of ESPN.com, the shouting match in the locker room after the game was “one of the most intense” scenes of this current era of Warriors basketball. The altercation did not get physical, but Green’s vigorous defense of himself helped increase the volume in the room.

Yahoo Sports insider Chris Haynes reported that the Warriors felt Green “cut too deep in his disagreement with Durant,” leading to his suspension.

Here’s a video clip showing the entire heated on-court verbal exchange between Durant and Green:

Golden State (11-3) will play against the Hawks (3-10) at 10:30 p.m. ET at home in Oakland.

Jaden Smith: “Tyler the Creator is My Motherf**king Boyfriend!” (VIDEO)

While performing at the Camp Flog Gnaw music festival in Los Angeles Sunday night (Nov. 11), Jaden Smith made a rather interesting announcement.

Speaking to the crowd, Jaden said that Tyler the Creator is his “boyfriend.”

“I just wanna say Tyler the Creator is the best friend in the world and I love him so f***ing much,” Smith said into the microphone. “And I wanna tell you guys something. I wanna tell you … Tyler doesn’t wanna say, but Tyler’s my motherf***ing boyfriend! And he’s been my motherf***ing boyfriend my whole f***ing life!”

Smith added, “Tyler the Creator is my f***ing boyfriend! It’s true!” He concluded: “Tyler the Creator is my f***ing boyfriend. OK? You take anything away from this f***ing show, that’s what you need to take away.”

Fans managed to capture Jaden’s speech on film, and in one video, the camera pants to Tyler, who wagged his finder, looked at the crowd and shook his head “no” while laughing.

Following the performance, Jaden wrote on Twitter: “Yup @tylerthecreator I Told Everyone You Can’t Deny It Now.”

https://twitter.com/officialjaden/status/1061916953101524992

After seeing Jaden’s message, Tyler replied: “hahaha you a crazy n***a man.”

While Tyler’s reaction seems to suggest Smith was joking, it isn’t clear whether Smith was up to his usual crazy antics or genuinely announcing a romantic relationship.

Neither Smith nor Tyler have explicitly labeled their own sexualities, with Smith being known for embracing gender-fluid fashion and Tyler calling himself gay and alluding to “coming out of the closet” on Twitter on multiple occasions.

Tyler seemed to have confirmed his queerness on his 2017 album “Flower Boy.”

On “I Ain’t Got Time!” he rapped: “Next line will have ’em like ‘whoa’ / I’ve been kissing white boys since 2004.” And the whole second verse of “Garden Shed” addresses him basically hiding in the closet.

Juelz Santana Reveals the Truth About His “Missing Teeth” in Dipset Video

Juelz Santana made headlines over the weekend and became the butt of many jokes after a screengrab from Dispet’s “Sauce Boyz” video seemingly showed him with a row of missing top front teeth.

Twitter, of course, responded with a bunch of jokes, memes and questions:

The internet’s biggest troll, 50 Cent, even got in on the fun:

This isn’t the first time Juelz’s teeth (or lack of teeth) have been a topic of discussion either.

Last year, Dispet appeared on TRL with DC Young Fly, and viewers were concerned about the “Mic Check” rapper’s grill—most notably, his bottom teeth were gone, and you could clearly see it.

Well, after getting roasted for appearing to not have any top teeth in Dipset’s new “Sauce Boyz” video, Juelz Santana is finally setting the record straight.

He took to the ‘gram to post a selfie of him showing off his pearly white smile:

The photo’s original caption (according to The Shade Room) said “Good Photoshop But, Next…” but he later updated it to “Next…”

Whether he has veneers, implants or dentures remains to be seen… but Juelz wants everyone to know that he does have “teeth.”

Stan Lee, the man who co-created Marvel Comics, has died. His daughter confirmed the news to TMZ. He was 95 years old.

“My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man,” Lee’s daughter told TMZ.

According to the gossip site, an ambulance rushed to Lee’s home in Hollywood Hills early Monday morning (Nov. 12) and he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later died.

Lee’s cause of death has not yet been revealed, but we do know he has suffered a number of illnesses over the past year or so, including pneumonia.

Stan Lee and Jack Kirby started Marvel in 1961 with the Fantastic Four, and Lee went on to create Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange and The Avengers.

Stan was also known for making cameo appearances in all of the Marvel movies.

It’s reported that Lee and Marvel had a rocky relationship after the company started re-making the comics/cartoons into big Hollywood blockbusters. He sued the company in 2002 for royalties he said the company owed him for the first “Spider-Man” movie. He settled the case three years later for $10 million.

Lee is survived by his daughter, Joan Celia aka “J.C.” His wife of 69 years, also named Joan, died of complications from a stroke in 2017. She too was 95 years old when she passed away.

Malfunctioning Water Heater That Makes Gunfire Sound Led to Active Shooter Reports at NC High School

UPDATE (08:47 A.M. ET): False alarm! A malfunctioning water heater that makes a sound similar to gunfire caused active shooter reports at a North Carolina High School Friday morning (Nov. 9).

According to WECT:

Commissioner George Brown said a piece of equipment at the school that has been malfunctioning in recent days and it sounds like gunfire when it makes noise. This has been going on for several days and is being investigated as a source. Regardless, officials are taking the situation very seriously to ensure everyone’s safety.

Pender County Emergency Director Tom Collins said he also believed a malfunctioning water heater caused a gunfire noise and that the sheriff’s office is expected to hold a news conference soon.

“I was sure it was not gunfire over an hour ago,” said Commissioner David Williams, who is also the assistant coach for the varsity football team. “I also coach football there. Lately (during practice), we’ve been hearing a piece of mechanical equipment go ‘bam bam bam.’ It made us the first time we heard it turn around.”

Williams said he has heard the sound personally and can understand how someone might hear it and make a report. He thinks it could be a remnant problem from Hurricane Florence, explaining the sound is up high, near the roof line and faces the back of the building.

“Obviously I was worried,” Williams said. “My son goes to school there. My daughter just graduated.”

Williams believes the law enforcement response was 100 percent correct. There are a lot of kids on campus in the morning for practice.

“They did exactly the right thing. Law Enforcement did what they’re supposed to do,” Williams said. “There’s no such thing as an over response.”

This is good news, as this would have been the second mass shooting in the United States within 48 hours. Hopefully, they get that water heater fixed ASAP though!

XXXTentacion Releases Posthumous Single “Bad!” (NEW MUSIC)

Before XXXTentacion was fatally shot back in June, the rapper was reportedly working on two albums, one called Skins and the other called Bad Vibes Forever.

Though we haven’t received an official release date for either album, insiders have confirmed a number of posthumous records were due to come out soon.

“We actually have nine more songs with X that are coming out,” producer Mally Mall revealed on ‘The Cruz Show’ last month. “It’s crazy, man. The kid was so talented. X was so talented that he would sound like three different artists on one song. It’s crazy. It’s sad because he predicted his death at 17. He thought he was gonna die.”

Friday morning (Nov. 9) at midnight, XXX’s team released a new single called “Bad!”

The track, produced by Keeley and John Cunningham, is said to be the first single from X’s first posthumous album Skins, which is due out before the end of the year.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BpxuP1YFiTg/

Although an official release date for Skins has not been confirmed, it’s been reported that the album will drop on December 7th.

Like most of X’s recent singles, “BAD!”—clocking in at under two minutes—is an extremely short song, but it gets its message across.

Via HotNewHipHop:

X plays on the confidence of a gorgeous woman, reaffirming her knowledge that she’s beyond fine. The instrumental would sound perfect at a strip club, and X’s syrupy vocals melt over the hypnotic drums.

DaBaby Says Gunman Approached Him While He Was Shopping With His Family at Walmart

Earlier this week, DaBaby reportedly shot and killed a man at a Walmart in Huntersville, North Carolina (outside of Charlotte).

He was taken into police custody and released within 24 hours with no charges. At the time, rumors suggested that the Charlotte, N.C. rapper acted out of self-defense in the shooting, and now DaBaby is speaking out about the incident via social media.

In a series of videos posted on Instagram Live, DaBaby confirmed that he was involved in the deadly Walmart shooting, which police said stemmed from a fight between “several individuals in the store.”

DaBaby said that he was shopping with his family (his 1-year-old daughter, 5-year-old son and baby mama) when he was approached by two men. At least one of the men had a gun, and he said security footage will back up his side of the story.

Without explicitly stating that he shot at the man, DaBaby explained exactly what went down at the Walmart and said that that the “gunshots” that customers in the store heard is what actually saved him and his family from being shot.

“If them gunshots ain’t go off, n***a, my f***in’ daughter could’ve got hit, son could’ve got hit, me,” he says in a video recorded from his bed.

He said his lawyers had advised him not to speak about the incident, but he doesn’t care. “F*** all that,” he said. “Two n****s walk down on you and your whole mothaf***in’ family, threatening y’all, whip out on y’all, n***a, let me see what y’all gon’ do. You feel me?”

Initial reports stated that DaBaby was shopping in the produce section when the shooting happened, however, the rapper says that wasn’t true. He was actually at Walmart to buy winter clothes for his daughter.

“I wasn’t in no mothaf***in’ produce section, I wasn’t grocery shopping, I was buying my baby some more winter clothes, n***a, it’s cold outside, n***a,” he said.

“These n****s see me buying baby clothes and these n****s wanna come and show me how tough they is and sh**. Come on, my n***a, quit playing … I really don’t give a f*** how y’all feel, a n***a tried to take my life in front of my 1-year-old daughter.”

He went on to say to “let that man family [the victim] grieve in peace and leave my family alone because I’m dying about mine, right there on the spot.”

The man who was shot and killed in the altercation was identified as 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig.

After the shooting, investigators said that a suspect was being questioned, along with “several people” who were arrested at the store “due to an altercation.”

According to Fox 46 Charlotte, police haven’t filed any charges related to the shooting.

An officer told the news station that police were aware of DaBaby’s social media videos, but won’t release the names of those interviewed about the altercation unless charges are filed against them.

Surprise! Dwyane Wade & Gabrielle Union Welcome First Child Together

A huge congrats are in order for Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade as the couple shared earlier today that they are now the proud parents of a baby girl. Surprise, right?

I know you’re probably wondering, “How in the hell did Gabrielle Union hide a whole pregnancy from the world for nine months?” Well, it’s easy. She and Dwyane hired a surrogate to carry their baby and kept the news under wraps until now.

The couple each took to their respective Instagram accounts Thursday (Nov. 8) to share photos of them holding their newborn daughter.

“We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that, our miracle baby, arrived last night (11/7) via surrogate,” they both shared along with lyrics to the song ‘Lovely Day.’ “Welcome to the party sweet girl!”

Union has been very open about her struggles with infertility as the couple has been trying to have a child of their own for years. She revealed in her 2017 memoir We’re Going to Need More Wine that she had “eight or nine miscarriages” while trying to conceive on her own.

“For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant — I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle or coming out of an IVF cycle,” she wrote.

The baby girl, whose name has not yet been revealed, is the first child for 46-year-old Gabby, while 36-year-old Dwyane is already dad to sons Xavier Zechariah (who turns 5 years old on Saturday), 11-year-old Zion Malachi Airamis and 16-year-old Zaire Blessing Dwyane. Wade also raises his 17-year-old nephew Dahveon Morris.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade recently celebrated their 4-year wedding anniversary in August.

Congrats again to Gabby and D-Wade on the birth of their baby!

WATCH: Ariana Grande Soars Through the Clouds in “Breathin” Video

Ariana Grande flies through the clouds in the video for her new single “Breathin.”

The song is the latest cut from Ariana’s fourth album Sweetener. Watch the video below:

Back in August, Ariana explained that the song was about anxiety.

“‘Breathin’ is about breathing and when you’re anxious,” Grande told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. “It’s about anxiety. You know when you feel like you can’t get a full breath? It’s like the worst feeling in the whole world. It’s just a song about that feeling.”

“Were you having an anxiety attack?” Fallon asked.

“I was having lots of them,” Grande replied. “We were in the studio. We were writing. I was like, ‘I can’t breathe.’ They were like, ‘We’re gonna write this song.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I still can’t breathe, but we’ll write it.’ We made this song. I can kind of breathe now. Progress.”

Ariana Grande has been very open about mental health and her own issues with PTSD and anxiety, which she experienced after the Manchester terrorist attack that killed 22 people at her concert in May 2017.

“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss,” Grande said to Vogue U.K. this past June. “But, yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing.”

Last weekend, Ariana released her breakup anthem “Thank U, Next”—which is an ode to her past relationships with Big Sean, Pete Davidson and Mac Miller, the latter of whom died on September 7th at age 26th of a drug overdose. She performed the song live for the first time on The Ellen DeGeneres show Wednesday (Nov 7), just a few weeks after her split from her former fiancé Davidson.

UPDATE (10:53 P.M. ET): Tamera Mowry-Housley wrote on Instagram about the death of her 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley:

Alaina. My sweet, sweet Alaina. My heart breaks. I’m still in disbelief. It’s not fair how you were taken and how soon you were taken from us. I was blessed to know you ever since you were 5. You stole my heart. I will miss our inside jokes, us serenading at the piano. Thank you for being patient with me learning how to braid your hair, and I will never forget our duet singing the national anthem at Napa’s soccer game. I love you. I love you. I love you. You are gonna make one gorgeous angel. My heart and prayers are with every victim of this tragedy.

Tamera’s twin sister Tia Mowry also paid tribute to Alana via Instagram, writing:

Our sweet Alaina. We are broken. Our hearts are broken. We love you.

UPDATE (3:33 P.M. ET): Tamera Mowry-Housley has confirmed that her 18-year-old niece Alaina Housley was one of the victims in the mass shooting that happened Wednesday night (Nov. 7) in California.

Tamera said in a statement released to the media: “Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline Bar in Thousand Oaks.”

She continued: “Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner.”

Tamera and Adam’s 18-year-old niece, Alaina Housley, attended the “College Country Night” event where a gunman opened fire, killing dozens, including heroic sheriff’s deputy Ron Helus. The gunman was later identified as 28-year-old Ian Long, a former marine with apparent mental health issues.

According to a tweet sent by Alaina’s friend Ashley, Alaina was the only girl out of their group of friends unaccounted for after the shooting.

Tamera responded to the tweet saying, “Ashley this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley. Can you please DM me your information?” Ashley replied, saying that she’s been in contact with Alaina’s uncle (Tamera’s husband Adam) and so far there’s nothing new to report.

Tamera’s twin sister Tia wrote on Instagram along with a photo of them at Tamera’s wedding in 2011: “Alaina Housely we are praying. We love u! If you know anything or any information please let us know. We love you!”

Adam Housley later asked his 100,000 Twitter followers for prayers. “Please pray if you believe…pray,” he wrote. When a follower asked what to pray for, Housley wrote: “My niece. A beautiful soul.”

When actress Holly Robinson Peete asked Adam if his niece had been found, he responded “No” with a praying hands emoji. Hours later, another follower asked if Housley had heard anything about his niece, to which he responded, “Nothing.”

Adam, a former Fox News correspondent, told the Los Angeles Times that he went looking for Alaina at a Los Robles Regional Medical Center around 3:30 a.m., but guards wouldn’t let him in because the facility was on lockdown.

Alaina’s family members were able to track her Apple Watch and iPhone, both of which showed her location at the bar, leading them to fear the worst.

“My gut is saying she’s inside the bar, dead,” Housley said. “I’m hoping I’m wrong.” He added: “You just don’t think that — same stupid quote — you just don’t think it’s going to happen to you.”

Ex-Marine Ian Long Identified as Mass Shooter at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California

The gunman who opened fire on a crowded college bar in Thousand Oaks, California Wednesday night (Nov. 7)—killing at least 12 (including a brave sheriff’s deputy who ran in without backup) and wounding many more—has been identified as 28-year-old Ian David Long.

RELATED: At Least 13 People Killed (Including Gunman & Sheriff’s Deputy) in Mass Shooting at Bar in Thousand Oaks, California

The Borderline Bar & Grill in Ventura County was packed with around 200 college students as it hosted it weekly “College Country Night” event when gunshots rang out around 11:20 p.m. A man, later identified as Long, had walked into the bar and started firing with a handgun.

A number of patrons broke windows to allow themselves and others to escape, cutting themselves on shards of glass as they exited.

Sheriff’s deputies responded quickly to the shots fired reports, and as they rushed the bar, the gunman opened fire on them, killing Sergeant Ron Helus, who was labeled a hero for giving his life to save the lives of others.

The suspected shooter, Ian David Long, died of a gunshot wound at the scene. Earlier reports said he shot himself, but officials didn’t confirm that. NBC News reported that Long drove his mother’s vehicle to the bar, but authorities later said that information hadn’t been confirmed either.

Police said Long was “heavily tattooed” but didn’t provide any details about the tattoos, which were used to identify him, along with fingerprints, NBC News reported.

“I was thinking that might be the last day of my life. I was just hoping not to get killed,” one eyewitness told KTLA-TV of the shooting. The witness was eventually rescued by the SWAT team.

A woman in the neighborhood described how she saw a lot of people, mostly aged 18 or 19, “running everywhere.” The sidewalks were covered in blood and some witnesses described how they hid in the bathroom.

Here’s what you need to know about Ian Long and the shooting:

Ian Long is a former U.S. Marine and served in Afghanistan as a machine gunner.

Ian Long had a military background, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a news conference.

According to TMZ, Long—a veteran who was in the United States Marine Corps—served in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Marine Regiment, Third Marine Division, in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, and he entered active duty in Los Angeles, California, according to journalist Cassie Carlisle.

Long was deployed to Afghanistan in November 2010 through June 2011.

The Marine Corps confirmed that Long served in the military from August 2008 to March 2013 and earned the rank of corporal.

He was a machine gunner who received numerous awards, including a Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon X2, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and NATO Medal – ISAF Afghanistan.

Long recently underwent a mental health evaluation for acting “irate.”

Ian Long has had prior run-ins with Ventura County police over the years, including an incident this past April when Long was described by a neighbor as screaming and banging on the walls of the home where he lived, NBC reported.

The neighbor called 911 thinking that Long was violent and possibly trying to hurt himself. Deputies from the Ventura County sheriff’s department responded to the call and found Long acting irate and irrationally, Sheriff Geoff Dean said.

Following an evaluation from mental health specialists, they decided not to take Long into custody.

That April incident wasn’t his first run-in with the law either. Sheriff Dean said: “We’ve have had several contacts with Mr. Long over the years, minor events,” including an incident in which Long was the victim of batter at a local bar in 2015.

Helus was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Eleven other people were shot and killed in the incident, and numerous others were wounded.

The shooter, whose name has not yet been released, was reportedly found dead inside the venue with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sheriff Helus described himself on his LinkedIn page as follows:

According to his LinkedIn, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s Degree in Administrative Leadership.

Sergeant Ron Helus—a 29-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office—is survived by his wife and son. Authorities said he planned to retire within the next year.

“Ron was a hardworking, dedicated sheriff’s sergeant, he was totally committed,” Sheriff Dean said. “He gave his all. And tonight, as I told his wife, he died a hero because he went, he went in to save lives, to save other people’s lives.”

With a population of more than 100,000, Thousand Oaks is one of the second-largest cities in Ventura County, about 40 miles north of Los Angeles and is considered one of the safest cities.

“You know, I’ve been a cop for 41 years, and I never thought I would see the things around the country that would happen,” Sheriff Dean said. “But I’ve learned, it doesn’t matter what community you’re in, it doesn’t matter how safe your community is. It can happen anywhere.”

At Least 13 People Killed (Including Gunman & Sheriff’s Deputy) in Mass Shooting at Bar in Thousand Oaks, California

A gunman opened fire on multiple people at a country music bar in Thousand Oaks, California Wednesday night (Nov. 7), killing at least 12 people, including a sheriff’s deputy, and injuring several others.

The shooter, whose name has not yet been released, was reportedly found dead inside the venue with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The sheriff’s deputy who was fatally wounded was identified as Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said “at least 200 people” were inside the Borderline Bar, which was hosting a “college country night” gathering for students.

Ventura County Sheriff’s Sergeant Eric Buschow told reporters on the scene there were “multiple fatalities.” Captain Garo Kuredjian said he could not comment on the status of the victims, however, the number of victims was expected to rise.

Among the victims was a Ventura County deputy sheriff, a doorman, a cashier and college students. The lifeless body of a suspected male victim was seen on KABC-TV helicopter video outside the bar.

Captain Kuredjian said there was no immediate threat to the public and homicide investigators are at the scene investigating.

The gunman—reportedly dressed in all-black, wearing a trenchcoat, glasses, a baseball cap and a mask covering the bottom part of his face—opened fire at around 11:20 p.m. (2:20 a.m. ET Thursday).

One officer was injured when he arrived at the scene with colleagues and “attempted to neutralize the threat,” Capt. Kuredjian said.

One woman, who didn’t give her name, said she was inside the bar when she heard “a lot of gunshots.”

“We dropped when we heard the gunshots,” she told MSNBC. “I looked behind me and there was a smoke bomb going off.”

Witnesses said the shooter fired at least 30 shots from a pistol with extended mags and threw smoke grenades.

One witness, a man named John Hedge, told ABC 7: “I was at the front door talking to my stepdad. I just started hearing these big pops. Pop, pop, pop. There was probably three or four and I hit the ground. I look up and the security guard was dead. Well, I don’t want to say he was dead, but he was shot. He was down, and the [shooter] had a handgun. He threw in smoke grenades all over the place and he kept firing. I saw him point to the back of the cash register…and he just kept firing. I ran out the front door.”

Hedge’s stepfather, Tim, told the news station, “He fired the first shot. I knew it was live. I knew it was real. My son thought it was a joke so I pulled him down and got some cover. I looked up and he was moving to the right. He shot the front doorman, who was just a young man. Then he shot the cashier, just a young girl. Then he started moving to the right. He wasn’t looking at us. Then he went into the office, where all the cash and stuff is. He didn’t say anything at all. He just started shooting.”

“I thought it was a joke when the shots started firing. I know people there. I hope everybody’s OK. I don’t know how I didn’t get shot,” John Hedge told KABC.

Another witness said: “This maniac came in. Threw in smoke to confuse people and opened fire on the dance floor. He’s taken many young lives.”

According to news reports, people were hiding from the shooter in bathrooms and attic spaces in the bar, while others who managed to escape the venue ran to nearby gas stations for medical help. Some people reportedly had to use chairs to break windows inside the bar to escape.

The Los Angeles Times reported that one woman was in the front of the restaurant with more than a dozen friends when the gunman came in and started shooting at the ceiling. She said a friend threw her onto an outdoor balcony so that she could escape. She said she was afraid some of her friends were still inside the bar.

Witnesses have said that many people at the bar also attended the Route 91 country music festival in Las Vegas in October 2917, where the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history claimed the lives of 58 people and injured 851 others.

“A lot of people in the Route 91 situation go here,” 23-year-old Chandler Gunn told the L.A. Times. “There’s people that live a whole lifetime without seeing this, and then there’s people that have seen it twice.”

Carl Edgar, who came to the scene after hearing about the shooting, told the Times: “As far as I know, all of my friends are OK, safe. There are a few people we can’t get a hold of, but in these situations people usually turn off their phones to be safe so I’m not gonna get too worried. A lot of my friends survived Route 91. If they survived that they’ll survive this.”

Captain Kuredjian said it’s been a while since shots were fired in the city. He said the area is safe and shootings are a very unusual occurrence. In fact, Business Insider called Thousand Oaks, which is about 40 miles west of Los Angeles, the third-safest city to live in in the United States.

Whoops! Ariana Grande Almost Falls in First “Thank U, Next” Performance on Ellen (VIDEO)

Ariana Grande nearly fell during the first live performance of her new single “Thank U, Next.”

The 25-year-old singer was performing her new track for the first time on Wednesday’s (Nov. 7) episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show when the slip-up happened.

As Grande entertained the audience, she briefly lost her footing while stepping down from a chair, but she caught herself, saying “Oh my god” before going right back into the song as if nothing didn’t happen and laughing it off. Honestly, if it weren’t for her saying “Oh my god,” you probably wouldn’t notice.

Grande and her two backup dancers, wearing all-white outfits, channeled the 1996 movie The First Wives Club (starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton). The trio performed in front of white tables covered with flowers and a faux cake, just like the beloved film’s last scene in which the women sing “You Don’t Own Me,” with Grande and her backup performers mimicking some of the movie’s choreography.

“Thank U, Next” is described as a love letter to herself, as she opens up about her past relationships with Big Sean, Pete Davidson and the late Mac Miller, thanking them for helping her grow in different ways. One of the song’s lines addresses those moments, with Grande singing, “One taught me love / one taught me patience / and one taught me pain.”

Thank U, Next is Grande’s upcoming fifth studio album—a follow-up to her fourth album Sweetener and her second album release of the year.

In addition to performing “Thank U, Next,” Ariana also performed “Breathin,” her latest single from Sweetener. Check it out below:

In addition to her mini-concert at the Bilboa, Spain awards show, Jackson also gave an empowering acceptance speech for the Global Icon Award that touched on women’s rights, gender inequality and a plea to help those in need.

To be called an icon is a tremendous honor but one that comes with tremendous responsibility. Tonight I feel moved to speak for women whose voices have been stifled,” Jackson said. “I am one of those women. Women who have been gagged, both literally and emotionally. Women who have been abused. Women who have been intimidated. Women who have lived in fear. I stand with you. You are my sisters.”

The singer continued: “Tonight, I carry the hope that a new world is emerging. A world in which caring people, male as well as female, will no longer tolerate gender inequality. Women, our voices will be heard.”

How to Dress Up As Beyoncé For Halloween WITHOUT Wearing Blackface

It seems like every Halloween, some white people have to be reminded that wearing blackface as a part of your costume is simply unacceptable.

One woman, who dressed up like “Beyoncé,” was fired from her nursing job after photos of her wearing blackface went viral on social media., which leads us to believe that some (not all) wypipo either don’t know that blackface is not OK, or they just don’t care.

Well, now that Halloween has come and gone, we’re going to show you some examples of how you can look like Beyoncé without wearing blackface, and hopefully, we won’t have to see your atrociously racist costumes in 2019.

Twitter Is So Done With Florida & Texas After the 2018 Midterm Elections

Twitter has had it up to here with Florida and Texas—two states that continue to elect Republican governors, even though Republicans have proven time and time again that they don’t know how to do their jobs, or simply don’t care about the people they’re supposed to represent, or maybe a little bit of both.

Republican Congressman Ron DeSantis, a three-term congressman from the Jacksonville area, is the fourth consecutive Republican elected governor of Florida, a winning streak that dates back to 1998. And Gregg Abbott, who has served as the 48th Governor of Texas since January 2015, won his second term.

Twitter is understandably pissed and has been going in on Florida and Texas for the past 24 hours straight, basically calling those states out on their lack of intelligence.
