“Project Runway” Designer Mychael Knight Dead at 39

According to various sources, fashion designer Mychael Knight has died at the age of 39. Obvious Mag, who first broke the news, reports that Knight passed away a little before 7:30 a.m. outside of Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday (October 17) “surrounded by his loving family and friends.”

Mychael Knight’s official cause of death hasn’t been released, but TMZ reported that Knight had recently checked into a hospital and was getting treatment for intestinal issues, and it was assumed that his cause of death was related to that.

“We are still processing the untimely death of our son, brother, friend, and uncle,” Knight’s family said in an official statement. “Mychael meant everything to us and we loved him dearly. He was generous and so full of life. This is how we choose to remember his legacy.”

The sad news comes on the heels of Knight’s friends recently calling for prayers on social media. The renown designer spoke out about his illness back in July and revealed that he had been suffering from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) since 2012, and this year, in particular, had the been the worst for him.

“I’ve decided to share something personal b/c in the past few months, I’ve disappeared from the socials and my actual life,” Knight wrote to his friends on Facebook. “After several of my close friends sending random texts and calls, concerned w/ my well being, I just decided this would be the best way to share with the rest of my friends and family.”

He added, “For the past 5 years, I’ve been suffering from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). This year has really taken a toll on my health…badly. In short, IBS is a gastor-intestinal [sic] disorder in which the food I eat, my body doesn’t absorbed [sic] (malabsorption) the nutrients from what I eat.”

Knight continued, “In addition, b/c I have a ‘leaky gut,’ opening in my intestines, toxins from that food leak into my bloodstream, which can cause Autoimmune diseases (Diabetes, Lupus, Celiac Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis).”

He went on to describe other various ways IBS had affected his quality of life (including developing respiratory issues) and said that he would need to change his diet and lifestyle to help combat the illness.

“I suffer from chronic abdominal pain/diarrhea/nausea, EXTREME fatigue and exhaustion, food sensitivities/allergies, foggy brain, headaches etc,” he shared. “As of recent, I’ve develop [sic] some acute Autoimmune responses like Psoriasis, inflamed joints, and small respiratory issues.”

“After months/years of cutting out process food and some meat, ex’ing out gluten and other toxins (all helped some), being bed ridden for weeks and seeing doctors/specialist, I realized that ‘traditional medicine’ only remedies the symptoms, and not rectify the illness. So with the help of a nutritionist and herbalist, it’s a MUST I go with a complete plant/herb diet and lifestyle.

“This issue is SERIOUS. It has completely taken over my life. It’s more than an upset stomach and shit spills. 80% of your immune system is created in the gut. I’ve been living in torment…for a long time.

“Again, I just want to share b/c I LITERALLY disappeared. A few close friends know, my immediate family knows of coarse. I wanna say THANK YALL. I know there’s been ALOT of unreturned texts/calls. But honestly, some days I don’t have the energy to do either. Thank you to all my clients who’ve been patient and understanding as well!

“I also wanted to share b/c I have noticeably, lost an EXTREME amount of weight, so it’s become obvious something is going on. SIDEBAR: I’d appreciate everyone holding the ‘you so skinny’ or ‘you need to eat’ comments. YES I lost weight, NO I’m not trying to, YES I eat, NO I don’t have Cancer and anything else terminal. LOVE Y’ALL.”

Mychael Knight, a native of Atlanta, is best known for his stint on Season 3 (2006) of “Project Runway,” in which he finished in fourth place and went home with the Fan Favorite award. After the show, in 2007, he went on to become a powerhouse in the fashion industry, introducing his self-titled label on BET’s Rip the runway and designing a line of custom tees for the Starbucks Corporation.

The following year, in 2008, Knight launched a lingerie label for men and women called Kitty & Dick, as well as his unisex fragrance MajK. Knight also participated in the Project Runway: All-Star Challenge in 2009.

In 2010, Knight unveiled his Fall/Winter 2010 during Charleston Fashion Week in Charleston, South Carolina, and in 2013 he became a contestant on Season 3 of Project Runway: All Stars.

Michael Anthony Knight, Jr. was born on April 11, 1978, in Nuremberg, Germany to Pamela and Michael Anthony Knight, Sr.

Although Knight spent his childhood in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1996, he received his high school diploma from Washingtonville Senior High School in Washingtonville, New York. Later that same year, Knight began his freshman year of college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. In 2001, this university awarded Knight a Bachelor of Science degree in Apparel Design and Merchandising.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Knight broke into the fashion industry in Atlanta, Georgia by working as an intern at Wilbourn Exclusives in 2001 and then by becoming a Fashion Stylist in the music industry in 2002.

In 2005, Knight auditioned for the second season of the Bravo network reality television series, Project Runway, but he was not accepted as a Season Two Contestant. In 2006, Knight reauditioned for Project Runway, and this time he was accepted as a contestant for season three. Knight went on to win season three’s Fan Favorite award and to place fourth in the overall competition.

In 2007, Knight introduced his label, Mychael Knight, on BET’s Rip the Runway and he designed a line of custom tees for the Starbucks Corporation.

In 2008, Knight launched Kitty & Dick, his female and male lingerie label, and his unisex fragrance, MajK.

On August 20, 2009, the Project Runway: All-Star Challenge aired on Lifetime Television. Knight joined Daniel Vosovic and Santino Rice of season two, Jeffrey Sebelia and Uli Herzner of season three, Chris March and Sweet P of season four, and Korto Momolu of season five in a special, “one-shot” competition where the winner, Daniel Vosovic, received $100,000.

On March 17, 2010, Mychael Knight debuted his Fall/Winter 2010 line at Charleston Fashion Week in Charleston, South Carolina. In 2013, Knight became a contestant on Project Runway: All Stars (season 3).

Nelly’s Rape Case Will Go Forward Without Accuser’s Testimony

Despite his accuser refusing to testify, Nelly’s not all the way in the clear just yet. An investigation into a claim the rapper raped a woman will continue even without the alleged victim’s cooperation.

Sources tell TMZ that Auburn, Washington police intend to move forward with their investigation and gather evidence after the rapper was accused of raping a woman on his tour bus. TMZ reports the police hope to present the case to the prosecutor’s office later this week.

Over the weekend, the alleged victim announced she would not be testifying against Nelly and wished to drop the case. The 21-year-old maintains the sexual assault occurred, but believes she cannot battle a celebrity in court and the system will fail her.

Karen Koehler (the woman’s lawyer) explained in a letter on behalf of her client:

“She wonders who is she to go by her small ‘unimportant’ self against a celebrity. Who will believe her. People are saying things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break. She wants to close the door. She wants this to end. She just cannot bear it.”

In response to Auburn police continuing their investigation, Nelly’s lawyer Scott Rosenblum tells TMZ he believes evidence will ultimately lead to the case being closed. “I would expect the police to do their due diligence,” he said.

Nelly was arrested on suspicion of second-degree rape on October 7, however, he was released and was never charged. He denies sexually assaulting his accuser.

EXCLUSIVE: R. Kelly Serenades Rumored Girlfriend Halle Calhoun at Her 22nd Birthday Party in Atlanta

Amid allegations that R. Kelly is running an abusive “sex cult” with a harem of women, the 50-year-old R&B singer was spotted at his rumored girlfriend Halle Calhoun’s 22nd birthday party in Atlanta over the weekend.

Gossip On This has obtained photos and exclusive video footage from the party, which was held Saturday night (Oct. 14) at a private location in Dunwoody—a northern suburb of ATL.

In the video, R. Kelly can be seen performing for Halle and her friends, and at one point, he’s even dancing with Calhoun while singing his hit single “Ignition (Remix).” Kelly also serenades his young (alleged) girlfriend with a special rendition of the “Happy Birthday” song while she’s admiring her money cake, which was likely a gift from the singer himself.

R. Kelly, who is 50 years old, and Halle Calhoun—a (now) 22-year-old model from Greenville, South Carolina, have been seeing each other for a while now (at least a year). We first reported on their “relationship” around this time last year. At the time, we were told she was 19 years old, but since she’s now celebrating her 22nd birthday, she was apparently 20 years old (going on 21) when we first reported on her last August.

The rumored couple were even spotted out partying together at Atlanta’s Gold Room nightclub last August.

Word on the street is that Halle is a part of Kelly’s harem of women, but it looks like she gets a little more “freedom” compared to some of the women who have come out since BuzzFeed’s not-so shocking report exposing R. Kelly’s sex cult.

Bridget Kelly Blames Love & Hip Hop Hollywood for Ruining Her Relationship

Singer and current Love & Hip Hop Hollywood star Bridget Kelly says the show ruined her relationship.

Viewers watched Bridget’s relationship with boyfriend James Shipp Jr. crumble as he dumped her on the show. The couple’s main storyline has centered around Bridget’s cheating on James with multiple men throughout their seven-year relationship. End the end, James just couldn’t forgive her.

However, in an exclusive interview with Bossip, Bridget revealed that James cheated on her right before their break-up. She says she didn’t want to talk about it on the show because she wanted to focus on repairing their relationship. Unfortunately, she was blindsided when James kicked her to the curb on camera.

“The unfaithfulness on his side came around right before our breakup. I didn’t want that to be broadcast because it looks petty, like I’m trying to justify my behavior. I wanted to work it out because I felt so guilty about my past transgressions that I wasn’t about to throw him under the bus on TV.”

Bridget quickly moved on with LHHH co-star Daniel “Booby” Gibson. The two went on a romantic boat trip and shared a kiss. However, Bridget says they are just friends and never had sex. In fact, Booby gave her some helpful advice on her relationship with James.

“He came to be somebody who gave me a lot of sound advice. I wouldn’t call him a distraction, but we established a friendship on the show, which especially at that time, was supportive.”

The season 4 finale of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood airs tonight (Oct. 16) on VH1, immediately followed by part 1 of the reunion.

Woman Accusing Nelly of Rape Refuses to Testify, Drops Case

The woman accusing Nelly of rape is refusing to testify against the rapper and has decided to drop her case.

In a letter first published by TMZ, the 21-year-old’s lawyer, Karen Koehler, says her client feels the system has failed her and does not believe she can fight a celebrity in court and win. Koehler also says the college student cannot handle the negative media and internet attention her accusation against Nelly has brought.

Koehler writes in part:

“Every step of the way since the time she called 911, she wishes she had not. Not because what happened didn’t occur exactly the way she described it. Not because she did not want the police to charge the celebrity with alleged rape.

“She wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her.

“She wonders who is she to go by her small ‘unimportant’ self against a celebrity. Who will believe her. People are saying things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break. She wants to close the door. She wants this to end. She just cannot bear it.”

On October 7, Koehler’s client called 911 and claimed Nelly raped her on his tour bus in Washington state following a concert. He was arrested the same day on suspicion of second degree rape. However, he was later released without bail and no charges filed against him.

Nelly denied all the allegations on Twitter and his lawyer said the accuser’s “allegation [was] devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.”

Koehler writes in the two-page letter that her client “never wanted notoriety. She never wanted a dime from that man.” The college student, who claimed Nelly attempted to pay her off immediately after the alleged assault has also previously stated she was being bullied and intimidated by the rapper and his lawyer.

Haley Perea & Savannah Sugg: Racist Beckys on Video Assaulting Men for Not Standing During National Anthem Exposed

Shocking video footage showing a woman assaulting a man for the so-called “crime” of kneeling during the national anthem at a Lakers game has gone viral on social media.

Last Wednesday (Oct. 4), during a preseason game for the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center, Haley Perea, a woman who has publicly used the n-word multiple times on social media, honed in on two men who chose to kneel instead of standing for the national anthem, and attacked one of them by throwing a drink on him.

Making matters even worse, her friend, Savannah Sugg, recorded the incident and shared the video on Twitter.

“This is for the national anthem you pieces of shit,” Becky #1 (Perea) can be heard saying before tossing a dark-colored beverage on the man. “Yeah! F**kers!” Becky #2 (Sugg) screams in the background.

Sugg captioned her tweet:

“Take a kneel for the land of the slaves.” Disrespect our flag and our country and that’s how we’ll react.

Becky #2’s tweet has since been deleted, as well as both of the women’s social media accounts, but that didn’t stop the footage and their names and photos from being shared all over the Internet.

Haley Perea and Savannah Sugg—who, according to reports, are both Trump supporters (surprise, surprise!)—attend California Baptist University, a private Christian college in Riverside, California. Perea apparently works (or at least worked) at a raw juice bar called “Juice It Up,” and Sugg reportedly works at a restaurant/brewery in Riverside called “Heroes.”

After Perea and Sugg went viral over their videos, The Tab uncovered a number of tweets showing Perea using the n-word.

“Hook a nigga up,” Perea said in one tweet. “We cute mah nigga,” she wrote in another tweet. “Too many niggas here,” she said in another. And in another post on Twitter, Perea talked about how she loves calling her roommate ‘nigga.’ “She freaks out every time [monkeyface] [crying laughing emoji],” she shared.

Some Twitter users have called for the two Beckys to be arrested for assault, as well as fired from their jobs and expelled from school, which one Twitterer noted was “notorious for turning a blind eye to racist behavior.”

Meanwhile, Juice It Up was quick to dispel rumors that Perea was an employee of their establishment. Apparently, she hasn’t worked there since July.

On Sunday (Oct. 8), California Baptist’s Dean of Students Anthony Lammons promised to “investigate” and take “appropriate action” against Perea and Sugg.

“California Baptist University does not support or condone such behavior,” he said in a statement to The Tab. “Based on the video, the incident did not take place on our campus. Nonetheless, CBU takes such behavior very seriously; we will investigate, and take appropriate action.”

The school itself also released an official statement basically saying the same thing. See below:

“On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, an incident occurred at a pre-season NBA basketball game at the Ontario Citizens Business Bank Arena. While this was not an event affiliated with California Baptist University, two current CBU students were involved.

“On Thursday morning, October 5, 2017, CBU learned of this incident and initiated an investigation and plans to take appropriate action. CBU does not condone or support the behavior depicted in the recording of the incident.

“CBU takes this matter very seriously and is cooperating with law enforcement and arena management.”

According to their website, California Baptist University “believes each person has been created for a purpose” and they strive to “help students understand and engage this purpose by providing a Christ-centered educational experience that integrates academics with spiritual and social development opportunities.”

So this should be an open-and-shut case right? Especially since Cal. Baptist’s mission is to help students “glorify God” and distinguish them[selves] in the workplace and in the world,” which probably doesn’t include throwing drinks on people for exercising their civil right to a peaceful protest.

A Patheos.com writer pointed out that the womens’ actions seems to violate an older version of CBU’s Student Handbook, which states that students are to obey all local and state laws and should “respect members of the campus community from diverse ethnic, cultural, or religious traditions and refrain from any act of discrimination or racism.”

Harassment and abuse and physical violence are also prohibited, per the handbook, which also has this nice little passage:

The University reserves the right to deal with behavior, regardless of the location, that is detrimental to the Student, community, University, and others.

The school also prohibits organizing or participating in dances on campus, and having premarital sex is grounds for expulsion, so surely assaulting someone should get you expelled too, right?

The two men in the video, 21-year-old Matthew Brady (pictured above left) and 20-year-old Jiahn Talebi (above right), have since spoken out about the incident and told their sides of the story. They said that Perea and Sugg’s attack wasn’t the only instance of assault they experienced that night and police refused to do anything about it.

Matthew Brady, 20, and Jiahn Talebi, 21, said they attended the Lakers game Wednesday, Oct. 4, in Ontario and did not stand during the national anthem prior to the game.

“We’re joking around and talking. We don’t want to show respect for the national anthem. I sing out, ‘Home of the slave,’ because that’s what it should say,” Talebi said in a telephone interview Monday. He said a group of men sitting in front of them, in seats that actually belonged to Talebi and Brady, began quarreling with them.

Security intervened and made the group of men leave that section, Talebi said. The basketball game began, and things remained calm, until the end of the fourth quarter, said Talebi.

“We thought it was the end of everything, and then this girl comes down and throws her drink on us. It was a soda or something,” said Talebi. Brady received the brunt of it.

“I was on my phone texting someone. I’m just looking at my phone, I look up and my whole body’s wet,” Brady said in a telephone interview Monday. “My pants are drenched. My shirt’s drenched. I never even seen their face. I just seen them running upstairs.”

Talebi and Brady said they chased the two women after one threw her drink on them. Arena security, they said, did not intervene, but merely pointed toward the direction in which the two women fled — outside the arena. Once outside, the two men said they were accosted again, only this time by a middle-aged man who apparently was aware of what they had done.

The man approached Talebi, and when Brady came to his aid, the man reportedly grabbed Brady by the neck. “This guy just grabbed me by the neck and said, ‘You better have some respect for the (national) anthem, boy. You better have some respect, boy,’” Brady said. A red-jacketed security guard was standing within feet of Brady and his and Talebi’s alleged assailant, but did nothing, Brady said.

Several police officers responded and made Brady and Talebi sit on the curb while they talked to the man, before letting him go. They both said passersby approached officers and tried to tell them what had happened, but they were instructed to “mind their own business” and “keep moving along.”

Then, police instructed Brady and Talebi to leave or face arrest, they said. When Brady and Talebi tried getting the officers’ badge numbers, they were denied and threatened with arrest again.

“An officer said there was nothing he could do about it, and there was nothing we could do about it, and if we got attorneys or went to court, it wouldn’t work out for us,” Brady said.

Despite the officer’s suggestion, Brady and Talebi have lawyered up and are apparently preparing to file a civil lawsuit.

Brady and Talebi on Sunday retained the services of Victorville attorneys Sharon Brunner and Jim Terrell.

“They threatened our clients with ‘you leave or you will be arrested,’” Brunner said.

Terrell said the video posted on social media was an attempt to make the perpetrators of a criminal act out to be heroes.

“They videoed (sic) themselves throwing the beverage on an African American,” Terrell said. “We believe it’s a civil rights issue. It’s a First Amendment right for them (Brady and Talebi) to stand or sing as they like. It’s the obligation of the Citizens Business Bank Arena to provide security to everyone.”

Brunner said the potential defendants in the case are the two women, Citizens Business Bank Arena and the Ontario Police Department.

The controversy is part of an ongoing debate about whether NFL players should be fired, as Donald Trump has suggested, for refusing to stand during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Following the lead of former San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick, NFL and NBA players (and now citizens too) are trying to draw attention to widespread shootings of unarmed black people by police in the United States.

Despite how the Haley Pereas and Savannah Suggs of the world feel, the protest has NOTHING to do with “disrespecting” the flag, the military or the country.

Love & Hip Hop Wedding: Bambi Confirms She’s Lil Scrappy’s “Trophy Wife”

It’s official: Lil Scrappy and Bambi Benson are, in fact, now husband and wife. Bambi reluctantly confirmed the news during a live talk show.

Bambi appeared on TV One’s Sister Circle on Thursday (Oct. 12) with hosts Syleena Johnson and Quad Webb-Lunceford. The interview kicked off with Johnson acknowledging the glitter makeup on Bambi’s chest. “Yes, this new trophy wife thing going on,” Bambi responded.

The comment could have been a slip of the tongue, but after some prodding from the hosts, Bambi confirmed that she and Scrappy have been married for about a month.

“Listen, I can’t even hide it anymore. I’m married, I’m happy. We’re just trying to do this thing on our own… It’s been a month. We actually weren’t trying to hide it. It was just something we were doing just for us.”

We reported in late-September that the off-and-on Love & Hip Hop couple had secretly tied the knot. The newlyweds told family and close friends after the fact. However, Bambi told the Sister Circle hosts that both families were happy for the union and she and Scrappy are planning a wedding specifically for family and friends to attend.

Bambi and Scrappy broke off their engagement earlier this year allegedly due to cheating and trust issues. In July, Bambi posted screenshots of Scrapp begging her to take him back and he launched “Operation: Find the Bam” in August.

Clearly, they have found their way back to each other and we wish them well.

Xscape Fires NeNe Leakes As Official Host of Reunion Tour Over Distasteful Rape “Joke”

NeNe Leakes has suffered the first professional setback since making a distasteful rape joke towards a female heckler at a comedy show and one of her Real Housewives costars played a pivotal role.

Kandi Burruss and her band Xscape announced Thursday (Oct. 12) that they have decided to drop NeNe from their reunion tour. It was only announced last week that NeNe would serve as the tour’s official host.

Xscape’s statement regarding their decision to part with NeNe reads in part:

“Like many, we were dismayed by the recent remarks made by our talented colleague and friend Nene Leakes. As a result, we have decided to no longer proceed with her participation on our tour…

“As strong supporters of all women, we know this decision is what is best. Our hearts go out to all female victims and we stand with you! This tour is for and about our fans and we want to provide an entertaining and enjoyable experience for every single person who attends.”

Tamara Tattles first speculated NeNe was off the tour last night when it was pointed out that the reality star’s name had been removed from all social media related to “The Great Xscape Tour.”

NeNe’s PR nightmare was sparked by an off-comment she made at comedy show over the weekend. “I ain’t even gonna tell you about the goddam Uber driver. I hope he rape yo’ ass tonight when he take you home, bitch,” she told a female heckler in the crowd.

She has since apologized for the horrible joke. “As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the worlds that I used,” she wrote, in part, in a statement. “I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies.”

Only time will tell if NeNe will lose any more jobs and/or coins over the joke, including her coveted spot on E!’s Fashion Police.

On Friday night (Oct. 6), many of the biggest names in hip-hop converged in Miami for the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, which aired Tuesday night (Oct. 10).

Eminem unloaded on the man who is unfortunately currently the President of the United States, and he held absolutely nothing back as he ripped into Mango Mussolini in a four-minute freestyle for the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher.

In an acapella freestyle, Em went after the Cheeto-in-Chief for his (mis)use of Twitter, escalating tensions with North Korea, supporting the Ku Klux Klan, and being the overall POS POTUS that he is. Mr. Mathers also addressed controversial topics such as the NFL protests, Puerto Rico, the border wall and more. Slim Shady also name-dropped Steve Bannon, Colin Kaepernick and others.

“But we better give Obama props, ’cause what we got in office now is a kamikaze that’ll probably cause a nuclear holocaust. Among the many reasons we watch Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, the biggest would have to be the fights, because we all love a good fight, right?

In recent seasons, production has warned cast members that throwing hands will result in reduced checks and camera time, so instead of fighting with their hands, nemeses must use their words. And if that doesn’t work, they’re allowed to, at the most, throw drinks and grab wigs. And Masika chose to do the latter when she finally came face-to-face with Hazel E on Monday night’s (Oct. 9) episode.

When Donatella asked Masika to be a part of a music showcase, she had no idea “Nazel E” was going to be a part of it. So when “Nazel” strolled into the room, Masika tried to get her attention by yelling a plethora of hilarious nicknames: “Young man! Nosey-Nose! Nostrildamus!” And when Hazel refused to come to her, Masika barreled through a number of bodyguards and grabbed her by her wig, nearly ripping the thing off and pulling her over a whole balcony.

Immediately after the tussle, Donatella couldn’t believe her eyes as Hazel’s wig was LITERALLY hanging on by a thread, and her reaction made the hilarious exchange even funnier: “Her wig is coming off! Her wig is coming off! Maybe she’s got to stitch it?”

And apparently, I wasn’t the only one who thought Donatella’s “Her wig is coming off!” declaration (in her posh, British accent, no less) was not only hilarious, but also hella shady, because Twitter couldn’t get enough of it.

Terry Crews Reveals Male Hollywood Exec Sexually Assaulted Him Amid Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Revelations and accusations against Hollywood giant Harvey Weinstein has sparked a conversation about sexual harassment within the industry. As many celebs have spoken out against the producer, it has given actor Terry Crews the courage to share his own sexual harassment experience.

In a Twitter thread on Tuesday (Oct. 10), the Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor revealed he was inexplicably groped by a male “Hollywood honcho” last year during a party. “This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME,” he wrote.

Crews explained that his first instinct was to “kick his ass right then,” however, he contemplated how a 240-pound black man beating a Hollywood exec. would be portrayed in the media and how it could affect his career. The actor and his wife ultimately decided to leave the party.

The actor discussed the incident with several people within the industry and word apparently got back to the Hollywood executive who called Crews the next day to apologize, but failed to offer an explanation of why he grabbed Crews’ groin.

Crews dropped the issue, admittedly, because “I didn’t want 2b ostracized— par 4 the course when the predator has power n influence.” The unfortunate situation helped the former NFL player understand “why many women who this happens to let it go.”

“Who’s going 2 believe you? (few) What r the repercussions? (many) Do u want 2 work again? (Yes) R you prepared 2b ostracized?(No),” he wrote.

By sharing his story, Crews hopes to encourage others who have had similar experiences and to deter predators from continuing their behavior.

A rep for Crews says the actor has no further comment about the incident at this time.

Based on the accounts of former employees and associates, an exposé by The New York Times published last week accused heavy-weight Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexually harassing women for several decades.

Several A-list celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow have come forward to reveal Weinstein has sexually harassed them, while stars like Meryl Streep and George Clooney have spoken out against Weinstein.

Amid the allegations, Weinstein has been fired from his own company, The Weinstein Company, and his wife of 10 years, designer Georgina Chapman, announced she is leaving him. TMZ is also reporting Weinstein entered rehab for sex addiction in Europe on Tuesday.

Watch Masika Snatch the Life Out of Hazel E’s Wig on “Love & Hip Hop Hollywood”

There’s an old proverb that says, “Don’t start none, won’t be none.” Apparently, Hazel E either hasn’t heard of that or she just doesn’t care, because she’s always starting something with somebody, especially when it comes to her long-running beef with fellow Love & Hip Hop Hollywood castmate Masika Kalysha.

In case you’re not familiar with Masika and Hazel (or, “Nasal,” as Masika calls her because of her big nose), let’s give you a quick backstory. On the first season of LHHH, the two women began to clash over their mutual interest over rapper/songwriter Yung Berg (who was on LHHH’s inaugural season).

After both ladies moved on from Berg, tensions continued to grow between the women when Hazel E lied about having a song with Masika’s baby daddy, rapper Fetty Wap. As the two women went back-and-forth everytime they saw each, Hazel E would call Masika’s motherhood into question, and Masika has made it very clear that you can talk isht about her all you want, but you WILL NOT bring her child into it.

Well, to make a long story short, Masika’s request to keep her child out of their beef has fallen on deaf ears, because Hazel E went as far as to post a photo of Masika holding Kari, her daughter with Fetty Wap, along with this caption: “You are a deadbeat, prostitute, porn star of a mother. I got your police records from being arrested in 2003 for prostitution.”

She’s since deleted the post, but VH1 showed a screenshot on last night’s episode:

“You actually posted a photo of my child, and said something very disrespectful and disgusting about my daughter and me as a mother,” Masika said to the camera in her confessional. “OK, it’s time to check you boo.”

And that’s exactly what Masika did.

Later on in the episode, Donatella attempts to bring the women on the show together for a music showcase, and things go completely left when Hazel E enters the room.

Bridget Kelly opens this Love & Hip Hop Hollywood clip with her angelic vocals and she is excited because she is finally doing what she set out to, which is shine. Brooke has a strong side-eye towards her former friend but is refreshed to see a familiar face, Masika.

Back in the day, Masika did a video for Brooke which makes it easy for Miss Valentine to confide in her long time friend. She explains that Bridget has been moving real foul telling Marcus business he shouldn’t be hearing from her in regards to Booby. Although Brooke isn’t impressed with her performance, Donatella is and she asks Bridget to close to show.

As Donatella runs down the itinerary, Masika and Brooke are shocked to hear that Hazel-E is up next to rehearse. “Young man! Nosey-Nose! Nostrildamus!” Masika calls out trying to get Hazel’s attention but because Hazel isn’t coming to her, Masika goes after Hazel.

She isn’t as slow as Hazel thinks because Masika grabs that blonde unit one time and gives it a good tug, damn near dragging her over the balcony. As brutal as it looked, Brooke does not feel bad because to her, Hazel had it coming.

The absolute best part of their brief scuffle comes at the end as Hazel is being whisked away by security and Donatella is in the background yelling, “Her wig is coming off! Her wig is coming off!” Then she hilariously throws in this shady question: “Maybe she’s got to stitch it?”

Jesus be a needle and thread (or at least some strong gorilla glue).

NeNe Leakes Apologizes for Horrible Rape Joke at Comedy Show: “I Regret the Words That I Used, I Made A Mistake”

It’s been a rough few days for NeNe Leakes. Earlier this week, the reality star was embroiled in a heated social media war with Real Housewives of Atlanta costar Kim Zolciak-Biermann and now she’s facing heavy backlash for a crude comment she made to a heckler at her comedy show.

NeNe is still trying this stand-up comedian thing and hosted the “Girls Night Out for Laughs” comedy event at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, California on Saturday (Oct. 7).

However, her joke about male Uber drivers trying to have sex with their female passengers did not go over well with the crowd and she called out one specific female heckler with a rape clap black.

“I ain’t even gonna tell you about the goddam Uber driver. I hope he rape yo’ ass tonight when he take you home, b*tch. And steal yo’ funky hello kitty, b*tch.”

The clip went viral on Monday (Oct. 9) and the RHOA star was dragged on social media for the distasteful and unfunny remark. She quickly issued a public apology following the backlash.

There’s no question that NeNe is the Queen of RHOA, but this is what happens when a reality star starts feeling themselves a little too much and thinks they are a Jack (or Jill) of all Trades. The inexperienced “comedian” was ill-equipped at how to properly handle a rowdy heckler.

In fact, there are even reports that NeNe has privately struggled with handling audience criticism since launching her stand-up hobby.

Hopefully, NeNe picked up some tips from the professionals at the “Girls Night of Laughs” event like Adele Givens, Tiffany Haddish, and Loni Love. I’m sure they wouldn’t have spouted a rape joke at a female heckler.

Laura Helm May Have Lied About Having Unprotected Sex With Usher

Usher might be one step closer in dismissing one of the lawsuits connected to his herpes scandal and he didn’t even have to do anything. One of his accusers was just caught in a lie regarding her case and it could possibly call her credibility into question.

TMZ has obtained audio of Laura Helm telling her publicist, Dennis Byron, that Usher used a condom during both of their two alleged sexual encounters. However, in her $20 million lawsuit, she claims Usher only used protection during their FIRST encounter.

“That’s why they make protection, for people who have STDs,” Helm told Byron as she explained why it didn’t matter Usher didn’t inform her of his STD status before engaging in sexual activity. (FYI: Condoms only reduce, but does not prevent, the spread of herpes).

In the phone conversation allegedly recorded on July 19, Helm also tells Byron she had no intention of suing the singer. “I’m not moving forward with anything!” she said. “I don’t want people to know I had sex with someone who has an STD. That’s even more embarrassing.” Helm filed her $20 million lawsuit two days later.

Doing damage control, Helm’s lawyer Lisa West tells TMZ that her client actually lied to Byron about having protected sex with Usher because she thought Byron was attempting to sell a story about her to the media.

According to West, Helm “didn’t want to be exploited and, in her attempt to deter Byron from doing so, she told him (inaccurately) that she never had unprotected sex with Usher and that she did not have herpes.”

West added that Helm suspects Byron of extorting her and has alerted law enforcement. TMZ also reports that a judge dismissed Helm’s claim Byron was stalking her on Friday (Oct. 6) due to lack of evidence.

As for Usher, he recently filed new court documents which, again asserts his defense that Helm assumed any risks when she consented to sexual activity with him. He claims in the documents:

“With a one in six chance that any given partner could have genital herpes, [she] assumed the risk of contracting an STD each and every time she chose to have unprotected sex with a casual, consensual partner.”

Helm claims in her lawsuit that she contracted Herpes Simplex 2 from Usher after having sex with him on two separate occasions in April 2017, once with a condom and once without. She says they had been “platonic acquaintances” for several years prior to making their relationship sexual.

Nelly’s Accuser Says He Raped Her Without a Condom & Tried to Pay Her Off Afterwards

The woman who has accused Nelly of rape is speaking out and exclusively told her side of the story to TMZ.

The 21-year-old resides in Seattle and says she met the “Hot in Herre” rapper at a club. She and her friends partied and drank with his crew, getting “tipsy” at his table. The alleged victim says she was eventually invited to an after-party and was driven to Nelly’s tour bus by members of his entourage.

While on the bus, the woman was alone with Nelly in his room and she claims he told her he wanted to have sex with her without a condom. Though she said “no,” Nelly allegedly told her to “shut up” and proceeded to “force” himself on her without protection.

The woman tells TMZ the rapper offered to pay her after the alleged rape, however, she declined. A woman then entered the room and told her “You gotta go.” The accuser claims this woman then kicked her off the bus and threw $100 at her.

Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, dismissed the accuser’s account to TMZ:

“It does not surprise me that she wanted to have her story publicized. That is playbook 101 of a person with an agenda and clearly she has one. The agenda is money, fame and notoriety.”

Rosenblum says his client’s accuser is a liar who is making “dangerous, fraudulent allegation(s).” He also informed TMZ he has hired an investigator to look into the matter and is confident he “will be able to show by objective evidence and unbiased witnesses that [the accuser] has zero credibility.”

Nelly was arrested and booked on suspicion of second degree rape on Saturday (Oct. 7) in Washington state. He was released later that day without bail or any charges, pending further investigation.

In a series of tweets following his release, Nelly denied sexually assaulting anyone and wrote that he was “completely innocent.”

Hours after being arrested for allegedly raping a woman, Nelly broke his silence and claims he is “completely innocent” and is the “victim of a false allegation.”

Nelly took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 7) to assert his innocence. In several tweets, he apologized to his family for the embarrassment the allegation has caused and thanked his fans for their support. “Y’all know damm well I ain’t do no dumm S^*t like this,” he wrote.

The rapper—whose real name is Cornell Haynes Jr.—was arrested Saturday morning at around 7 a.m. in Washington state after a woman claimed he raped her on his tour bus. The alleged victim called 911 at 3:48 a.m. Saturday and specifically identified Nelly as the person who assaulted her.

Nelly was booked on second degree rape charges. While he was taken into custody for an unspecified amount of time, the 42-year-old was released without bail (and no charges), pending further investigation.

His lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, also released a statement earlier today claiming Nelly is innocent and the allegation is “devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.” Rosenblum’s full statement reads:

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

The “Hot in Herre” artist is currently on tour with country-pop duo Florida Georgia Line. The alleged victim claims to have met Nelly after his concert in Auburn, Washington on Friday night (Oct. 6).

Nelly canceled his scheduled performance Saturday night in Ridgefield, Washington, though it’s unclear whether or not he’ll perform at Thursday’s (Oct. 12) show in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nelly’s Lawyer: Rapper DID NOT Rape Woman on Tour Bus, Accuser Is Being “Greedy” and “Vindictive”

Nelly’s lawyer says the rapper DID NOT rape a woman on his tour bus and his accuser’s allegations are “devoid of credibility.”

According to an update on TMZ, an attorney representing the rapper released a statement saying that he is completely innocent and the woman who claims she was raped by him is being “vindictive.”

Nelly’s lawyer told TMZ:

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

As we reported earlier, a woman claims she was raped by Nelly (real name: Cornell Haynes Jr.) on his tour bus in Washington state early this morning (Sat, Oct. 7) at around 3:45 a.m.

According to Brandi Kruse, a news reporter out of Seattle, Washington for Q13 Fox, the rapper met a woman following a concert in Seattle and brought her back to his tour bus, which was parked behind a Walmart, and police felt there was enough probable cause to arrest him.

Nelly was booked on second degree rape charges at around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, however he’s no longer being listed in the jail roster. It’s not clear whether he was released or just transferred to a different facility, Kruse reported.

Nelly has been arrested for rape, according to a breaking news report from TMZ.

According to law enforcement sources, a woman claims she was raped by the rapper on his tour bus in Washington state early Saturday morning (Oct. 7) at around 3:45 a.m.

Sources told TMZ the woman specifically pointed out Nelly (real name: Cornell Haynes Jr.) as the person who raped her. The rapper was booked on second degree rape charges at around 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to a Washington news reporter, Nelly met a woman in Seattle following a concert and brought her back to his tour bus, which was parked behind a Walmart, and Auburn police felt there was probable cause to arrest him.

Nelly is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line and is due to perform Saturday night in Ridgefield, Washington, though it’s unclear whether he will be released in time for his performance.

Kenneka Jenkins: Autopsy Results Reveal Drugs and Alcohol Were in Her System, Death Ruled an Accident

Alcohol intoxication and the use of a drug for treating epilepsy and migraines were “significant contributing factors” in the death of 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Initial autopsy results proved inconclusive, but results from the toxicology tests have revealed alcohol, caffeine and topiramate (an epilepsy/migraine medication) were in Jenkins’ system when she died. Her blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.112, which is higher than the legal limit of 0.08 for motorists.

Following a full review of the autopsy and toxicology results, Jenkins’ death has officially been ruled an accident.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said that she died from hypothermia after being exposed to conditions of the walk-in freezer and the combination of the alcohol and the topiramate drug can enhance each other. The coroner’s office also said it’s not known exactly when Jenkins died or how much alcohol she consumed.

The combination of alcohol and topiramate found in her blood can cause “impaired memory and concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgement,” among other adverse effects, the coroner’s office said. This, in addition to cold exposure, could have sped up the onset of hypothermia and death, the office said.

Jenkins’ family reportedly told investigators she didn’t have a prescription for the topiramate medication and the amount of the drug in her system was said to be in the “therapeutic range,” according to the coroner’s office.

“Alcohol and topiramate are synergistic. When combined, the effect of either or both drugs is enhanced. Topiramate, like alcohol, can cause dizziness, impaired memory, impaired concentration, poor coordination, confusion and impaired judgment,” the news release stated. “Central nervous system depression, or impairment, combined with cold exposure can hasten the onset of hypothermia and death.”

The medical examiner’s office said there’s no evidence Jenkins was forced to consume the alcohol or the drug, and there was also no evidence of another person near the kitchen with her. They also said there was no evidence of an altercation or an interaction with another individual immediately prior to her death.

The autopsy also found “mucosal erosions,” a type of lesion, in Jenkins’ stomach, which basically confirmed Jenkins had suffered from hypothermia. The autopsy also uncovered an abrasion to her right ankle and a purple contusion on her right leg, but no other sign of external or internal trauma. The coroner’s office also said her brain was swollen, however, that isn’t indicative of a specific cause of death.

The Chicago teen has been the subject of rampant social media speculation for the past few weeks after she was found dead in a hotel freezer nearly a month ago on September 10th.

Jenkins was initially reported missing after her friends lost track of her following a party at the Crowne Plaza Hotel the night of September 8th.

When the news was first reported, the initial lack of information released by authorities sparked online conspiracy theories that she was attacked and killed. The speculation was fueled by several videos showing the party that were shared on Facebook and Snapchat.

On Sept. 27, the medical examiner’s office went back for a follow-up investigation. A forensic pathologist assigned to Jenkins’ case and the office’s chief of investigations, a former New Orleans Police Department homicide detective lieutenant, went to the hotel and followed the path Jenkins took to a kitchen on the lower level of the hotel, the office said.

Rosemont police led the staff through the main kitchen area, up a set of stairs into a second kitchen area that was said to be unused at the time of Jenkins’ death, the office said.

They were directed to a large walk-in cooler in the back of the kitchen, and no other doors, entrances or exits were accessible from the back of the kitchen, the office said.

Inside the cooler is the walk-in freezer where Jenkins was discovered, the office said. At the time of the inspection, the cooler’s thermometer indicated a temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and the freezer’s thermometer indicated a temperature of 10 degrees Fahrenheit, the office said.

The freezer Jenkins was found in was capable of getting to a temperature of 8 degrees, the medical examiner’s office noted.

The cooler and freezer were both outfitted with external handles that must be pulled to open, the office said. The inside of the freezer door was equipped with a circular release mechanism, the office said.

Rosemont police told the medical examiner’s staff that the light inside the freezer was not on when Jenkins was found. There is a light switch outside the cooler door, the office said.

Early on in the investigation, authorities suspected she walked into the freezer by herself on accident, but Jenkins’ family and social media sleuths weren’t buying that theory, so police released video footage from the hotel’s security cameras showing the teen wandering the building by herself and appearing disoriented.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any video footage of Jenkins actually entering the freezer because there are no cameras that directly show those doors.

Federal authorities declined to open their own probe into Jenkins’ death after Rosemont police said they interviewed two dozen people and were satisfied that she wasn’t murdered.

Meanwhile, in anticipation for a lawsuit against CPO Hospitality LLC, Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel and F & F Realty Ltd, attorneys for Jenkins’ family are conducting their own investigation and they have suggested the hotel may be at fault for her death.

Jenkins’ family filed a legal document in Cook County Circuit Court Friday claiming several padlocks could have prevented entry to the unused freezer were available nearby but not used. The abandoned and unused kitchen also had its cooking stoves and ovens removed, but the empty walk-in freezer was still operating for “an unknown reason.” The court filings also revealed a private investigation found no evidence of injury from a physical attack or sexual assault.

Kenneka Jenkins was laid to rest on Saturday, September 30th following a funeral that was attended by over 1,000 people, including many who never even knew Jenkins or her family.

A video posted on YouTube showed one of Jenkins’ friends, Monifah Shelton, hugging Jenkins’ mother Tereasa Martin at the cemetery.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Friends and family did not speak during the funeral; instead it was up to pastors James Meeks, a former state lawmaker, and Andre Williams to eulogize the young woman.

“Some of us are best friends because of Kenneka,” Williams said. “She was sent her to serve a purpose — which she did — and that was to touch the world.”

Much of the service honored [Kenneka’s mother Tereasa] Martin, who had undergone a double mastectomy not long before Jenkins’ death. Many pointed to Martin’s strength during the weeks that followed both her surgery and the death of her daughter.

“We’re not here to solve this, we’re not here to ask questions,” Rev. Meeks said. “We’re here to wrap our arms around a mother, a father, many aunts and uncles and friends who have lost a loved one.”

Meeks pointed to Martin many times during the service. “We live in a mean world with mean and cruel people, but we can’t let that stop us.”
