Bye Felicia! Megyn Kelly Reportedly FIRED From NBC After Ignorant Blackface Comments

To the left, to the left, everything you own in the box to the left, Megyn Kelly!

According to multiple credible news sources, just two days after Megyn Kelly admitted on national television that she thinks that it’s OK for white people to dress up in blackface for Halloween, she has been fired from NBC.

BIG SHOCKER, RIGHT?! The same woman who once said that Santa Clause and Jesus are both white men is being ousted from a major news network because she doesn’t understand how racist blackface is.

So, I say this with absolute joy and nothing but glee: BYE FELICIA!!!

On Tuesday’s (Oct. 23) episode of her “Megyn Kelly Today” show on NBC, Megyn was all “What’s the big deal?!” when the issue of non-melanated folks wearing blackface was brought up.

“Back when I was a kid that was OK as long as you were dressing up as a character…” were actual words that came from her mouth.

Newsflash, Megyn! There are LOTS of things that were “OK” back when you where a kid that are no longer acceptable today, like racism and segregation, for instance.

Megyn didn’t stop there either. She then tried to compare wearing blackface on Halloween to someone having a fake ax coming out of their head. “It’s gonna be jarring,” she explained.

She also brought up a controversial moment on the Real Housewives of New York when a white woman just as clueless as she is (if not more) dressed up as Diana Ross and wore dark makeup to appear Black.

“I don’t know, I felt like, ‘Who doesn’t love Diana Ross? She wanted to look like Diana Ross for one day. I don’t know how that got racist on Halloween,” she said. “I haven’t seen it, but it sounds a little racist to me,” said a white person on the panel with some damn sense.

Nevermind the fact that Diana Ross is such an iconic figure that there are many ways to dress up like her WITHOUT darkening your skin. According to Megyn’s line of thought, if you truly want to embody Ms. Ross, you must mock her skin color as well.

In the words of someone on Twitter: “You can take the Megyn Kelly out of Fox News, but you can’t take the Fox News out of Megyn Kelly.”

And now, because Megyn Kelly is so deeply rooted in her conservative Fox News-ish views, she’s out of a high-paying gig at NBC—one she didn’t deserve, btw, but that’s beside the point.

For what’s it worth, Megyn made an attempt at an apology on her show the following morning:

But apparently, that wasn’t enough for her to keep her job at NBC. According to TMZ, she’s OUTTA THERE! And not only that, but her talent agency, CAA, has also dropped her like the big ol’ racist sack of bricks that she is.

“Megyn Kelly Today” aired a repeat on Thursday morning, 2 days after she uncorked the absurd comment that it’s okay to wear blackface at Halloween. Sources connected to the network tell us unless a Hail Mary is thrown and caught at some point today … Megyn is gone for good.

The split with NBC comes the day after Megyn’s emotional on-air apology where she insisted she’d learned a lesson due to the backlash.

The mea culpa was clearly a case of too little, too late for the Peacock … which, to be honest, had issues with Megyn’s show even before the blackface blowup. Translation: the ratings were terrible. They’d dropped more than 30 percent, year-to-year, in her time slot.

Another NBC source tells us it didn’t help that Megyn’s co-workers “hated” being on air with her. One specific example was during coverage of Dr. Christine Ford’s testimony — Megyn was part of the panel with Savannah Guthrie, Lester Holt, Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd.

We’re told the other anchors and correspondents felt Megyn was way too bluntly conservative on air. Andrea eventually left the panel, mid-coverage.

The divorce — which, we’re told is more mutual than a firing — isn’t shaping up to be quick and easy. Daily Mail, which first reported Megyn’s ouster, says she’s hired high-powered attorney Bryan Freedman who’s scheduled a sit-down with NBC … no doubt to discuss the terms of her departure. She has a $69 million contract.

Megyn’s talent agency, CAA, also dropped her.

NBC’s already said it’s airing another repeat of her show on Friday.

As for what happens Monday? Stay tuned …

CNN is reporting that Megyn and NBC News execs are “negotiating the terms of of her departure” from the network, and though her “exit is not official yet,” sources close to the situation are saying that “it is likely to be announced in the days ahead.”

Long story short: “Kelly will not be returning to her 9 a.m. show ‘Megyn Kelly Today,'” CNN has confirmed via sources.

GOOD-BYE. And GOOD RIDDANCE.

Who Won the Mega Millions Lottery $1.6B Jackpot? Here’s Everything We Know So Far

Millions of people played the Mega Millions Lottery for their chance at winning the $1.6 billion jackpot—the biggest jackpot in Mega Millions history—but only one person in the entire country found out they had the winning numbers.

Who is he or she? Where do they live? And what store did they purchase their ticket from?

Here’s what we know:

1The $1.6B jackpot winner lives in Simpsonville, South Carolina.

On Wednesday, October 24th, South Carolina lottery officials announced shortly before 1 a.m. EST that one person in the Palmetto State had won the massive $1.6 billion jackpot.

The winning numbers for the Tuesday, October 23rd drawing were 28 – 70 – 5 – 62 – 65 and a Mega Ball of 5.

2The winner purchased their ticket at KC Mart in Simpsonville.

A Simpsonville convenience store was credited with selling Tuesday’s winning Mega Millions ticket, lottery officials confirmed Wednesday morning (Oct. 24).

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, it was announced that the KC Mart #7 at 303 Lee Vaughn Road in Simpsonville was the lucky store.

Following the announcement, lottery representatives put up a banner outside the store that read “Luck Struck Here!” The store was also given a banner provided by the South Carolina Education Lottery that said “We Sold A Mega Millions Ticket Worth $1.5 Billion.”

C.J. Patel, the owner of the KC Mart in Simpsonville, said he will receive about $30,000 for being the store that sold the winning Mega Millions ticket. He said he plans to split the proceeds with his four employees.

“Hopefully it will bring us more business,” he told reporters.

According to the S.C. Education Lottery, this is South Carolina’s first ever Mega Millions jackpot win.

3The winner’s name has not been officially been revealed yet.

Lottery officials have not revealed who purchased the winning Mega Millions ticket, and because South Carolina is among the few states where it’s not legally required to reveal who won, we may never know.

What we do know is that because they were the ONLY person to win the jackpot in the ENTIRE country, they will either take the lump sum of $878 million (approximately $553 million after federal taxes) or the annuity, which would be around $50 million per year ($32 million after taxes).

Because South Carolina has a 7% state tax on lottery winnings, the lump sum amount goes down to $492 million and the annuity would be around $29 million per year.

$1.6 Billion Mega Millions Lottery Ticket Sold in South Carolina

South Carolina residents, check your ticket(s), because someone in the state won the $1.6 Billion Mega Millions jackpot for the October 23rd drawing.

According to South Carolina state lottery officials, at least one winning ticket was sold in the Palmetto State. More information, including whether there were any other winners in other states, will be released later Wednesday.

There are reports floating around online that at least two other winning tickets were sold in other states, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

A single winner could walk away with a lump-sum payment of $904 million, and if the rumors are true about two other winners, each person would walk away with $301.3 million.

The winning numbers were: 5, 28, 62, 62 and 70 and the Mega Ball was 5.

Lottery officials in California and Arizona confirmed there weren’t any jackpot winners in their states, but that leaves at 47 other states that haven’t reported.

Those who didn’t win the jackpot should still check your tickets because even without having ALL of the numbers, there are multiple ways to win:

The NCAA Should Be Paying Zion Williamson & Other College Athletes: Here’s Why!

The NCAA, the non-profit organization that regulates athletes of 1,281 North American institutions, has always been a hotbed of controversy. The organization, which during the 2016-2017 season brought in over a billion dollars in revenue, has monopolized amateur athleticism on the backs of young men and women who are, by rule, barred from ever seeing a single penny of that revenue.

Players and their families are unable to collect any form of payments or gifts, and can even be suspended for receiving money for their own signatures. So while players put their bodies on the line every single week and never receive payment, others are raking in the money. During the 2015 calendar year, Mark Emmert, President of the NCAA, was credited with more than $1.9 million in total compensation.

In fact, a quick Google search will show that college football and basketball coaches are the highest-paid public employees in almost every state. So basically everyone involved in college athletics is seeing the results of these massive profits being brought in. Everyone except the people actually playing the games, of course.

It should come as no surprise that an organization with that much money, being made in essence by a group of unpaid interns, would be a suspect for corruption. It all came to a head late last year when the FBI announced they were investigating allegations of fraud and corruption throughout college basketball’s recruiting channels.

The first trial in the FBI investigation kicked off earlier this month, and for a more in-depth look at what exactly is at stake, read Matt Norlander’s article over at CBS Sports . The short version, however, is that there was a system in place to bribe players and their families in order to get them to choose particular schools to attend, with some players even being given up to $100,000.

Unsurprisingly, it was not a single person or a single school that was guilty of these practices, but rather it is a larger, unspoken system that has been in place for a long time. Despite an apparent wide-spread knowledge that these systems are in place, players weren’t left with many options other than to shut up, accept it, and hope they don’t get injured before being eligible for the pros.

Now, another marquee player is potentially in trouble due to having the audacity of trying to make some money for doing his job. Zion Williamson, the YouTube sensation turned Duke basketball player, is awaiting to hear if his eligibility for the upcoming season is in jeopardy.

The incident started when a wiretap transcript was read aloud in the courtroom of the federal investigation into college basketball corruption. The transcript alleges that Williamson’s stepfather solicited or received money from Kansas before declaring for Duke.

If these allegations are proven to be true, Josephine Potuto, a law professor at the University of Nebraska, says, “An agent’s activity on behalf of a prospect renders the prospect ineligible under NCAA amateurism rules. An amateurism violation affects an athlete at all NCAA schools. Amateurism violations are not dependent on where the athlete enrolls.”

Therefore, even though Williamson is alleged to have sought money from Kansas, the fact that he decided on Duke wouldn’t matter. All he can do now is wait and see whether or not the NCAA will rule him ineligible for the upcoming season.

Stories like this happen all of the time. Players being suspended because they received a free meal or skipped class, and they have no recourse to turn to. Players are at the NCAA’s will, and what they decide is final.

It’s a system that has long angered many. Calls for paying the players is nothing new, but the typical counter is they are receiving a free education. But what if they aren’t interested in an education and would rather go do the thing they love and make a healthy amount of money in the process? Why are these kids being forced to make money for other people while potentially putting their own future at risk?

Well, for basketball players at least, there might be a new solution. The NBA recently announced an alternative to college basketball that would allow players to start getting paid immediately following high school.

In a progressive move that is sure to shake up the NCAA’s stronghold on young basketball players, the NBA G-League will provide select contracts to players that will pay them $125,000 and allow them to train in a professional environment before making the jump to the NBA.

So now players from 3 out of the 4 major sports have an alternative to the NCAA. Basketball players now have a viable option with the G-League, and both baseball and hockey players can go straight to the MLB and NHL from high school.

That still leaves football players, though. Unless the NFL opts to create their own G-League type alternative, NFL hopefuls are still forced to play for three years in the NCAA before being able to play professionally. And they will continue to still be unpaid.

Personally, I support the notion of paying these players. Simply put, if it wasn’t for them then none of these other people (coaches, execs, etc.) would be making the money they are. If payment is off the table, however, perhaps there’s a system that could be at least marginally better.

Colleges should create a “Professional Athlete” major for these players. If the idea of going to school is to prepare yourself for your future career, then why are we forcing players to take classes that don’t pertain to what they are hoping to accomplish?

This would help bypass all of the issues surrounding academic fraud and would at the same time prepare these athletes for their future careers. The major would account for practice and time spent working out as part of their academic schedule, and could also include subjects like money management, social media professionalism, how to navigate friends and families … basically any of the issues professional athletes face and how to handle those obstacles.

It would allow them to play the sport they love and at the same time learn applicable life skills and would avoid all of the issues of forcing these athletes to be students first.

With a rising wave of dissent against the NCAA, something will have to change for college athletics to continue the way it has. And when it finally happens, it’ll be long overdue.

Former Panthers Star Rae Carruth Earns Spot on Notorious NFL Ban List

After nearly 19 years, former Carolina Panthers first-round draft pick Rae Carruth stepped out of a North Carolina prison as a free man and right onto an NFL list that no one wants to be on.

On the same day that Carruth was officially released from prison, the NFL announced they are banning the sale of any jersey depicting the former wide receiver’s name and number.

The official ban puts him on the very short list that consists of two other players who have also been banned: O.J. Simpson and Aaron Hernandez. All three have all been associated with murders.

Carruth’s case dates back to 2001 when he was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder, using an instrument with intent to destroy an unborn child, and discharging a firearm into an occupied property that resulted in the death of Cherica Adams.

At the time, Adams was Carruth’s pregnant girlfriend. A man responsible for the actual shooting testified that Carruth wanted Adams dead so that he could avoid having to pay child support for the as yet unborn child.

Carruth orchestrated an attack on Adams by having her follow him home in separate cars before coming to a stop so she couldn’t drive anywhere. Then, three accomplices of Carruth’s pulled up and shot her four times through the driver’s side window.

Adams fought to stay alive from her injuries as an emergency c-section was administered to save the 8-month-old baby. They managed to save the child, Chancellor Lee Adams, but Cherica ultimately died from the injuries.

As for Chancellor, because he was deprived of oxygen, he suffered severe irreparable brain damage and was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy.

While in jail, Carruth had originally said he wanted custody of his son after being released from prison, telling WBTV, “I let him down as he came into this world, and the only way that I can make that right, and the only way I can work out my relationship with my son is to be there for him.”

Since that interview back in February, Carruth has since walked that sentiment back, writing to The Charlotte Observer that he would, “no longer be pursuing a relationship with Chancellor,” continuing with, “I promise to leave them be, which I now see is in everyone’s best interest.”

WATCH: Rajon Rondo & Chris Paul Fight in 4th Quarter of Lakers-Rockets Matchup

LeBron James made his Staples Center debut Saturday night (Oct. 20) in his first official NBA game with Los Angeles Lakers.

Though James’ first game as a Laker was supposed to be a big deal, it was overshadowed by a fight that broke out between Rockets player Chris Paul and Lakers player Rajon Rondo in the fourth quarter.

With just four minutes left in the game, Rockets guard James Harden drew a foul while driving to the hoop, making a layup over Lakers forward Brandon Ingram to put the Rockets up by 109-108.

Apparently Ingram, though, didn’t like the call and the 21-year-old quickly shoved Harden in the back, drawing a technical foul.

Lance Stephenson then ran in, grabbed Ingram and tried to walk him away from the situation in an attempt to deescalate it.

According to ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Paul said the fight started between him and Rondo started because Rondo spit in his face. In a video she posted on Twitter, you can see Chris wiping his face before he goes after Rajon.

After officials reviewed the incident, Ingram, Paul and Rondo were all ejected from the game. and the trio will likely face suspensions and fines from the league as soon as Sunday.

The Rockets held on to their slight lead after the fight to take the 124-115 win, spoiling James’ opener in L.A. and getting their first win of the year.

Philly Rapper AR-AB Indicted on Federal Drug Charges, Could Face Life Prison Sentence

The feds have Philadelphia rapper AR-AB and his OBH movement in their crosshairs, and they could be headed to prison for a very long time.

According to Attorney William M. McSwain, the rapper and eight other men were indicted on federal drug charges.

The men are accused of running a drug trafficking organization with multiple counts related to the distribution of large quantities of drugs in North Philadelphia, including cocaine, crack, methamphetamine and heroin.

The charges include:

“conspiracy to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, 280 grams or more of crack, 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, and 100 grams or more of heroin. The superseding indictment also includes individual charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine, crack, and heroin; distribution of methamphetamine; and a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.”

The federal agents are under the impression that AR-AB, whose real name is Abdul West, is the leader of the drug trafficking organization that distributed over 5 kilos of cocaine from at least March 2017 through June 2018.

The following individuals, all of Philadelphia, have been charged (according to the Dept. of Justice):

  1. Abdul West, a/k/a “Assault Rifle Ab,” “AR-Ab,” “El Patron,” “the Goon,”
  2. Jamaal Blanding, a/k/a “Bionickhaz,” “Khaz,” “Deangelo Smith,”
  3. Jameel Hickson, a/k/a “Meliano,” “OG,”
  4. Richard Chase Hoover, a/k/a “Boog,”
  5. Dontez Stewart, a/k/a “Taz,”
  6. Amir Boyer, a/k/a “Mulla,”
  7. Daryl Baker, a/k/a “Shotti,”
  8. Hans Gadson, a/k/a “NoBrakes Bras,” and
  9. Dennis Harmon.

The indictment alleges that AR-AB’s organization was part of a network that received drugs from California and distributed them in Philadelphia.

Philly’s Top Goon” and his crew are also being accused of purchasing high-end rental properties in Philly to evade detection and to protect their supply of drugs.

During two different raids on properties owned by AR-AB, cops recovered a large amount of drugs, thousands of dollars in cash and a handgun.

From the DOJ:

On September 11, 2017, the Philadelphia Police Department executed a search warrant at a house owned by West on North Sydenham Street, recovering 62 grams of crack, 229 grams of heroin, and 48 grams of methamphetamine, as well as $8,000 in cash and a handgun.

On May 17, 2018, the FBI executed a search warrant at an apartment complex on Christopher Columbus Boulevard, recovering approximately 10 kilograms of cocaine and nearly 6 pounds of methamphetamine, along with $20,000 in cash.

“The charges alleged in the superseding indictment are extremely serious, and if convicted, these defendants are facing major jail time,” said U.S. Attorney McSwain. “The investigation and prosecution of drug trafficking organizations remains a high priority of this Office and the Department of Justice. We are committed to doing everything we can to keep our streets safe and stop the flow of these deadly drugs into our communities.”

If convicted, AR-AB could face a life prison sentence.

Back in February, AR-AB won $200,000 in a bet against Birdman that the Philadelphia Eagles would win the Super Bowl.

The Philly rapper was also reportedly close to signing with Drake’s OVO imprint at one point after Drake name-dropped him on his Meek Mill diss track “Back to Back.”

Bill Cosby Reportedly Has a New Job in Prison: Here’s What It Is

Despite rumors suggesting Bill Cosby is struggling in prison, according to a new report, he’s is actually making the best of his time behind bars.

Since Cosby was sentenced to prison almost a month ago, tabloid stories have been running rampant online, but according to his publicists and jail officials, none of the reports are true.

No, he wasn’t attacked with a chicken patty or a stale hot dog bun. And no, he didn’t get pushed down or fall down a flight of stairs. In fact, there aren’t any stairs for him to fall down, because the place where he’s being held is stair-less.

The Washington Informer reports that Cosby’s wife arranged for his longtime publicists Andrew Wyatt and Ebonee Benson to surprise him with a visit on Monday.

“You know, a person says that they are OK, but you really need to lay eyes on them. At least that’s how I feel,” said Benson, who along with Wyatt spoke of their visit exclusively with NNPA Newswire and radio host Frankie Darcell of WDAS and iHeart Radio in Philadelphia.

The pair said they wanted to share their visit with African Americans and on platforms that would allow their comments to air unfettered. They said Cosby’s predicament is bigger than the comedian and should count a cautionary tale to all Black Americans about the perils of the criminal justice system.

Wyatt said Cosby got a kick out of hearing about published reports that he was attacked by other inmates with a chicken patty and a hot dog and that he’s mistreated. “He laughed,” Wyatt said. “The staff has been nothing but professional and none of that stuff has happened.

“He said it’s just that the mainstream media is continuing its efforts to try and stop him from getting the facts out,” Wyatt said. “He said to look at the facts, ‘I shouldn’t be here, but I’m here. But, I will be able to write about it, write music about it. They can put you away, but they can’t take away your memory, your life experience.’”

Cosby’s publicists said the actor is sporting a full beard and looks to be in great health, and he also has a new job while behind bars as an unofficial life coach.

“He has been able to speak with other inmates about their situation and impart advice,” Wyatt said. “Mr. Cosby loves hearing other stories of the inmates whom he calls residents. It’s that psychology part of him that takes them into his laboratory. He tells them, ‘You don’t have to swear or curse, this is what you do.’ He’s doing what he always have on the lecture circuit.

“Mr. Cosby said Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela helped him prepare for this chapter of his life,” Wyatt continued. “He said they told him that if he was going to continue to fight for civil rights, something like this was bound to happen and he’s been prepared for it and he knows he’s in prison not for rape, but for infidelity. He knows he’s innocent and he’s kept his head up.”

Bill’s publicists also denied reports that his wife of more than 50 years, Camille Cosby, plans to file for divorce and take their $400 million fortune with her. In fact, she’s been the one behind the scenes directing her husband’s legal team on his behalf, and it was her who ultimately made the call to replace Cosby’s former attorneys.

More from the Washington Informer:

Cosby, who grew up in the Philadelphia projects, also described his living conditions.

“He said the bed lies on thick steel or concrete and he’s allowed to make phone calls, but he’s still being assessed right now so he’s not in general population,” Wyatt said. “He follows the rules and respects the guards. They’ve given him a cane and, because he’s blind, they have a trustee to help him.”

Like just about all maximum security prisons, the facility is surrounded by razor-blade gates and concrete walls. However, because it’s new, there is a refreshingly nice look to it. Cosby has hot water and the ability to shower.

And he continues to fight for his freedom.

“He says we, his team, is part of what he calls this revolution,” Wyatt said. “When you look at his case, they convicted him with no evidence, no DNA evidence, no forensic evidence and on the word of a woman who isn’t even American.”

Both Wyatt and Benson said Cosby remains confident in his pending appeal.

“He has never been in any legal trouble before so this is brand new for him,” Benson said. “At 81 years old, he’s never had any problems with the law, never any legal issues until this case but he’s positive and talking to people and he’s concerned not about himself but about others who might find themselves in his position.”

Wyatt said his boss has grown a full beard. Asked whether he and Benson felt compelled to want to groom him or encourage him to shave, both Wyatt and Benson said no.

“He’s good. He looks really good,” Benson said.

“He’s sharp and he talked about what his team is doing on the outside and his wife, who has been so supportive,” Wyatt added. “He’s doing great, disregard what you’re reading. We want people to really know that this man is an American citizen and he hasn’t been treated like an American citizen.

“He’s behind bars for infidelity,” Wyatt said. “The reason he says and we say that this is bigger than Bill Cosby is, for other Black people, this could be your son, your father, your family member. They are trying to change the laws. Sexual assault is the only crime you can be convicted of with no evidence and no proof and we’ve seen the justice system and how it works with recent major things happening with [Supreme Court Justice] Brett Kavanaugh, or Harvey Weinstein.

“The judicial system is not the same for people of color,” he said. “This is about civil rights. If people don’t start paying attention, a lot more freedoms are going to be taken away. Remember, just last week a white woman accused a little black boy of sexual assault. Pay attention. Stay woke.”

So Bill Cosby is out here giving out life advice to his fellow inmates? Interesting.

You Won’t Believe How Much Money Floyd Mayweather Spent on Mega Millions Lottery Tickets

Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly dropped an insane amount of money on Mega Millions lottery tickets.

With the Mega Millions jackpot hovering at around $1 billion, everyone wants a piece of the action—even “Money Mayweather,” who already has a reported net worth of close to $1 billion.

According to TMZ, the undefeated pro boxer dropped $2,000 to try his luck—which, considering how much money he has, is chump change to him.

The jackpot is $1 BILLION, so if there’s a single winner and that person chooses the lump sum over the annuity, they would take home $565 million before taxes.

The drawing is Friday night (Oct. 19) at 11 p.m. but if nobody wins, the prize will roll over to next week, and millions of Americans will be bombarding gas stations and grocery stores for a chance at winning over $1.6 BILLION!

Rihanna Turned Down Super Bowl Halftime Show in Support of Colin Kaepernick

Performing during the Super Bowl Halftime Show is a huge milestone that not many artists have been able to achieve, and it’s rare that an artist would turn down the offer.

Last year, JAY-Z declined (and confirmed it in his hit single with his wife Beyoncé “Apesh*t“), and this year, reports are suggesting that his Roc Nation artist Rihanna has followed in his footsteps.

Citing an unnamed source, Us Weekly reported that the NFL and CBS “really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer” for the big game in Atlanta.

However, she declined in support of Colin Kaepernick, who was basically blacklisted from the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem played at games in protest over racial inequality and police brutality against black people and other minorities in the United States.

“They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy,” the source said. “She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance.”

Reps for the NFL and Rihanna haven’t responded to requests for comment, however, an anonymous source told Entertainment Tonight that Rihanna and Pink were both approached by the NFL in its halftime show discussions, but both women decided to move on when negotiations took too long. That source said Kaepernick’s name didn’t come up in those early conversations.

After Rihanna turned them the down, the NFL reportedly extended their offer to Maroon 5, though nothing has been officially announced yet.

According to Us Weekly, Cardi B could join the band as a special guest, which wouldn’t be too surprising considering they have a chart-topping song together.

“She is definitely being considered, but it’s obviously way too early to say for sure,” one insider revealed. Another source said, “Pepsi, the NFL and Cardi are all interested in her performing more than just her ‘Girls Like You’ verse.”

Colin Kaepernick’s decision to begin kneeling during the anthem in 2016 sparked a heated national debate, with critics, including President Donald Trump, calling players who kneel unpatriotic. Giving in to pressure from Trump and other conservatives, the NFL ordered players not to kneel on the field during the anthem and threatened to fine those who do.

After the protests, Kaepernick—who once admitted to having a crush on Rihanna—could not find a job for the 2017 season and sued the NFL, accusing owners of colluding to blackball him. He’s still without a team, but Nike recently revealed that they have been quietly paying him and he is currently the face of their “Just Do It” campaign.

Roseanne Barr Responds to Her Character Being Killed Off: “I AIN’T DEAD, BITCHES!!!”

Roseanne Barr is far from happy about her character being killed off The Conners—the reboot to the reboot of her successful sitcom Roseanne, and she has made sure that the world knows it.

Just hours after ABC premiered the Roseanne-less show on Tuesday, October 16th, Barr fired back, letting everyone know that she didn’t like the way they chose to get rid of her character, who died due to an accidental opioid overdose.

“I AIN’T DEAD, BITCHES!!!!” Roseanne tweeted.

She eventually deleted that tweet and came back with a more relaxed response via a statement released on her spiritual teacher Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s Facebook page.

“While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of ‘The Conners,’ all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel ‘Roseanne’ by killing off the Roseanne Conner character. That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show,” the statement reads in part.

The lengthy statement went on to slam ABC’s cancellation of Roseanne, calling it a result of “fear, hubris, and a refusal to forgive.”

ABC fired Roseanne and canceled her namesake sitcom after she posted a racist tweet comparing former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett to an ape. Roseanne later blamed her outburst on Ambien—whose makers, in an unprecedented move, responded by saying “racism is not a known side effect” to their drug.

The show had just been rebooted, and two months prior, ABC had ordered 13 episodes for Season 11. In mid-June, the show was revived as a spinoff titled The Conners, which has the same cast as Roseanne (minus Roseanne, of course).

The Conners‘ highly anticipated premiere dipped slightly—about 35 perecent—compared to ratings from the reboot’s premiere last spring. Despite the dip, the premiere was still considered a success. It beat NBC’s The Voice, but lost to NCIS on CBS.

The premiere found Dan (John Goodman), Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and the rest of the Conner family three weeks after the shocking death of their wife/sister/mother.

At first, the family thought Roseanne had died from a heart attack, but it was later revealed that it was an accidental overdose that killed her, leaving Dan in disbelief since he claims he flushed all her pills.

Dan later found out that Roseanne had been exchanging pills with their neighbors, leading to a line that was obviously meant to refer to the circumstances surrounding Barr’s dismissal from the show.

“She was going to do what she was going to do,” Dan said. “She never listened to a damn person in her life.”

Read Roseanne’s full statement about her departure from the show below:

Roseanne Barr and her longtime Rabbi and friend, World Values Network Founder Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, have issued the following statement regarding the cancellation of Roseanne and the premiere of The Conners:

“While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of The Conners, all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel Roseanne by killing off the Roseanne Conner character. That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show.

“This was a choice the network did not have to make. Roseanne was the only show on television that directly addressed the deep divisions threatening the very fabric of our society. Specifically, the show promoted the message that love and respect for one another’s personhood should transcend differences in background and ideological discord. The show brought together characters of different political persuasions and ethnic backgrounds in one, unified family, a rarity in modern American entertainment. Above all else, the show celebrated a strong, matriarchal woman in a leading role, something we need more of in our country.

“Through humor and a universally relatable main character, the show represented a weekly teaching moment for our nation. Yet it is often following an inexcusable — but not unforgivable — mistake that we can discover the most important lesson of all: Forgiveness. After repeated and heartfelt apologies, the network was unwilling to look past a regrettable mistake, thereby denying the twin American values of both repentance and forgiveness. In a hyper-partisan climate, people will sometimes make the mistake of speaking with words that do not truly reflect who they are. However, it is the power of forgiveness that defines our humanity.

“Our society needs to heal on many levels. What better way for healing than a shared moment, once a week, where we could have all enjoyed a compelling storyline featuring a witty character – a woman – who America connected with, not in spite of her flaws, but because of them. The cancellation of Roseanne is an opportunity squandered due in equal parts to fear, hubris, and a refusal to forgive.”

Iman Shumpert Puts “Thirsty” Groupie Celina Powell on Blast: “You Built Bad … I Would Never!”

Iman Shumpert did not take too kindly to a woman sliding in his DMs on Instagram and trying to shoot her shot.

The NBA player—who is happily married to Teyana Taylor, with whom he shares a 2-year-old daughter—recently took to his IG stories to expose notorious groupie Celina Powell, who is known for stalking celebs and exposing them when they bite the bait.

Powell has previously “outed” celebs like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Akon, Offset, and others, but Iman didn’t fall for her antics and put the girl on blast.

Apparently, some chicks who don’t get responses from Iman take it as far as faking a response from him so they can gain a little social media clout. But, Iman was like, “Nope, not today sis! I’m exposing you FIRST!” with her phone number on full display and everything.

He wrote: “Smh. Then they make a fake dm of me responding so I’m gon start exposing yall thirsty a** first. U thirsty af shorty and you built bad. I would never.”

After some people took issue with him exposing her without blocking out her phone number, he said in a later video: “Man, they mad at me for posting her… I don’t care dawg, I’m done getting in trouble for you rats. Y’all some rats, I don’t care. And I’m also starting to feel like she mess with dudes that keep the cape out on their durag.”

He later explained that the reason why he gives no fawks about putting Powell’s number out on the internet was because back in 2016 she ruined his New Year’s Eve by making up a story about him saying he did something that he didn’t.

“I really don’t care what happens to her. At all. I don’t care,” he said.

Iman went on to warn any other women out there who may be trying to pull stunts on social media.

“It be real consequences to y’all little quick flexes for $300,” he said. “If y’all piss Teyana off enough and I don’t get see [my daughter Junie], it’s going to be trouble trouble.”

Yella Beezy Watched His 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards Performance From His Hospital Bed

Being in the hospital didn’t stop Yella Beezy from watching himself perform his breakout hit single “That’s On Me” Tuesday night (Oct. 16) at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards.

Video footage has surfaced showing the rapper lying in a hospital bed with an oxygen mask over his mouth to assist with his breathing while being tended to by nurses.

Across the room, the BET Hip Hop Awards are playing on the TV, and the rapper excitedly informs the nurses that he’s the artist performing on the screen. Surprised, they ask him questions about the show, which was pre-recorded from Miami last Saturday (Oct. 13)—just one day before he was shot.

The Dallas rapper appears to be on a good road to recovery after being shot early Sunday morning (Oct. 14). As we previously reported, Beezy was shot at 12 times during a drive-by on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville, Texas.

Beezy was reportedly hit at least three times in the shooting. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but as you can see, he’s now alert and talking. A previous report said he had been discharged from the hospital, per info from police, however, he’s apparently still in the hospital (possibly at a different one).

Aside from the shooting, Yella Beezy has had a pretty good 2018. “That’s On Me” put him on the map as a rapper and he got the chance to open up for Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s “On the Run II” tour stop in Arlington, Texas.

Black Dad Who “Golfcart Gail” Called Police on Breaks Down in Tears, Says Woman Owes Him an Apology

It’s a tale that has now, sadly, become as old as time. Yet another white woman has called the cops on a black man for the simple fact that he had the audacity to live in America while not being white.

What was the cause of the latest in this long-running string of incidents? A man telling his son to listen to the refs at his youth soccer game.

That’s right. Gerald Jones was doing nothing but trying to teach his son to listen to the refs during his game when all of the sudden “Golfcart Gail” decided it was necessary to bring in the authorities.

The unnamed woman, only identified as a field marshal for the Ponte Vedra Athletic Association in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., allegedly told the responding officers that “she feared for herself and the children because she didn’t know what he [Jones] was capable of.”

The woman, now known as “Golf Cart Gail,” claims that she reported Jones for “harassment” against the refs, yet witnesses who filmed the encounter say that Jones did nothing wrong; he was simply telling his son, who was on the field of play, to listen to the referee overseeing the match.

One Facebook user was quoted as saying: “A parent at my son’s soccer game had the police called on him for cheering for his son during the game. The man was simply trying to watch his son’s soccer game and cheer for him from the sides. He yelled ‘The ref is right!’ when he saw his kid out there gettin frustrated after a call.”

After hearing both sides of the argument, the responding officers let Jones leave, yet the Ponte Vedra Athletic Association is coming to Golfcart Gail’s defense, issuing a lengthy statement basically saying she was in the right to call the cops.

“The Ponte Vedra Palm Valley Athletic Association puts the welfare of children above all else,” wrote Gary Easom, president of the association. “That is an extreme circumstance which seldom occurs, but that is exactly what happened in this situation…The field marshal acted appropriately and without malice to ensure the welfare of the children she is charged with protecting.”

Hold up, so she’s in the right by calling the cops on a father trying to teach his son to respect the proper authorities? C’mon, man.

It’s one thing if this was an isolated incident, but we all know it’s not. Do I need to run down the list of occurrences again? Honestly, it’s getting to be so commonplace, we can’t even come up with original names anymore. Just this week we had Gas Station Gail, now we’ve got Golf Cart Gail?

It’s tough to keep track at this point. And since I can’t fix the issue of racial injustice and inequality, at least let me fight for the right to be creative and identify these people on an individual basis. You’re telling me no one could think of Golf Cart Glenda? Golf Cart Grace? Maybe even Golf Cart Genna?

Let’s not let these people slip back into anonymity just because we can’t think of more original names. Golf Cart (insert your preferred G-name here), we see you, and believe you me, the internet never EVER forgets.

As for the situation at hand, Jones is saying that he is owed an apology, telling ABC News, “Anything could have escalated—me going to jail, my kid seeing me like that,” as he broke down in tears.

White people, do better.

Raheem Cole Dashanell Davis: Man Accused of Killing North Carolina State Trooper Kevin Conner Identified

The man who was arrested for shooting and killing North Carolina State Trooper Kevin Conner during a routine traffic stop early Wednesday morning (Oct. 17) has been identified as 20-year-old Raheem Cole Dashanell Davis.

Conner was killed just after midnight after pulling Davis’ car over for speeding in the southeastern area of North Carolina.

According to CBS News, when Conner approached Davis’ white pickup truck, Davis shot at Conner several times and fled the scene. Conner was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died of his injuries, officials with the NC State Highway Patrol said.

Davis then reportedly drove 20 miles west to the Fair Bluff area of N.C., leading authorities on a pursuit for several hours.

After his truck got stuck on railroad tracks, Davis jumped out and fled on food. Police eventually tracked him down in the woods and arrested him in around 4 a.m. in Fair Bluff, near the South Carolina state line.

Davis is reportedly being held at the Columbus County Jail and has been charged with first degree murder.

Conner, an 11-year police veteran, was described as “the nicest guy you would ever meet,” per a statement by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said in a statement: “The tragic loss of Trooper Kevin Conner of the N.C. State Highway Patrol weighs heavily on our hearts. We are forever grateful for his devoted service and selfless commitment to protecting the people of North Carolina. Our prayers are with his family and friends and his colleagues in law enforcement.”

“The Highway Patrol family is mourning the loss of a hero and will forever be changed by the tragic events that have occurred”, said Colonel Glenn McNeill Jr., commander of the State Highway Patrol. “We ask everyone to please keep Trooper Conner’s family and all who knew him in your thoughts and prayers.”

Gov. Cooper ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-rise on Thursday through sunset on Sunday in honor of Trooper Conner.

Conner’s funeral will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. following visitation between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at South Columbus High School.

Mugshot Madness (Pt. 2): Tommie From LHHATL Arrested AGAIN, This Time for “Stalking” Her Daughter

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Tommie Lee is in jail AGAIN after she was arrested for the SECOND TIME in less than 24 hours Wednesday (Oct. 18).

As we reported yesterday, Tommie (real name: Atasha Chizaah Jefferson) was arrested on charges of battery, aggravated assault and child cruelty after the reality star allegedly smashed her daughter’s head into her locker at Griffin Middle School in Cobb County, Georgia. Online reports allege the 34-year-old also punched her teenage daughter.

PREVIOUSLY: Tommie Arrested at Daughter’s Middle School

Tommie posted a $27,000 bond and was released early Wednesday morning at 4:40 a.m. She was ordered to stay away from her daughter, but she apparently violated that order by making contact with her daughter within 3 hours of getting out of jail, TMZ reports.

According to WSBTV Atlanta, Tommie was arrested again at her home in Smyrna around 8 p.m. Wednesday, but not without incident. WSBTV reporter Matt Johnson said Tommie allegedly refused to come to the door when police arrived, and she tried to evade them by hiding in her attic.

After her second arrest, Tommie was charged with aggravated stalking (for violating the no-contact order) and obstruction of an officer (for hiding from police).

Tommie is currently being held without bond in the Cobb County Jail, where she will remain indefinitely.
