Susan Lorincz Identified As White Woman Who Shot & Killed Black Mom of 4 in Front of Her Kids But Hasn’t Been Arrested

UPDATE: Susan Lorincz Arrested & Charged with Manslaughter in Shooting Death of Unarmed Black Mom Ajike “AJ” Owens

The allegedly racist 58-year-old white woman who has somehow managed to evade any repercussions after shooting and killing an unarmed Black mother of four in Florida over the weekend has been identified, according to a growing number of social media posts.

Unconfirmed reports from social media sleuths state that Susan Lorincz shot 35-year-old Ajike “AJ” Owens Saturday (Jun 3) following a dispute over an iPad and young children allegedly playing on the white woman’s property.

According to a press release from the office of attorney and civil rights advocate Ben Crump, who is representing Owens’ family, Owens’ children were playing in a field next to an apartment complex in Ocala, Florida when Lorincz reportedly yelled at them to get off her property and called them racial slurs.

The children left the premises but accidentally left behind an iPad, which the woman took. When the kids went back to the woman’s home to retrieve the iPad, she threw it, hitting one of the children and cracking the screen.

When the children went back home and told their mom what happened, she and at least two of her children, including her 9-year-old son—who had been hit by the iPad—walked across the street so that she could speak with the woman. After Owens knocked on the front door, Lorincz responded by shooting through the door, striking Owens, who later died from her injuries.

Three days after the fatal shooting, Lorincz—a suspected white supremacist—has yet to be charged or arrested and her identity has not been publicly disclosed by law enforcement officials.

In fact, some social media reports state that the woman has since received a police escort to go to her home and retrieve belongings, while a makeshift memorial near where the fatal shooting occurred has been disassembled so as not to “draw attention” to the area.

During a news conference Monday (Jun 5), Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods didn’t confirm or reject Crump’s story, telling reporters he wasn’t “going to stand here and tell you what they’re putting out there is inaccurate. It’s just I don’t know yet.”

Ajike “AJ” Owens pictured here with one of her four children.

Sheriff Woods did say that there’d been a long-standing “neighborhood feud” between Lorincz and Owens about her kids. He also confirmed that the children may have been hit by an unspecified object. Was something thrown at them? Yes, but not directly at them of what we’re being told now,” Woods said. “It just unfortunately may have hit them.” He added: “The children are a big part of answering a lot of our questions.”

Woods also said that when Owens went to the Lorincz door, a heated exchange occurred before the shooting, and at least two of Owens’ children may have witnessed the shooting.

As we all know, Florida is a “Stand Your Ground” state, which gives citizens the legal right to defend themselves with lethal force, however, this case doesn’t appear to fall under “self-defense.”

Welcome to America, where a white woman can shoot and kill a Black woman in front of her young children and not be charged with a crime.

A GoFundMe has been organized to help with funeral costs for AJ Owens, as well as costs associated with her children’s education expenses.

“Ajike Owens (affectionately known as AJ) graciously affected all she came into contact with her infectious personality,” the GoFundMe reads. “She had a smile that would light up the room. But most of all, she was known for how much she loved and absolutely lived for her four children. To say she loved her children unconditionally is an understatement.

“She was a single mother whose life centered around her children. She was the Team Mom for her children’s football/cheerleading teams. She excelled professionally as a manager in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry. She was a devoted Christian who believed in bringing her kids up in a supportive Christian environment.

“After being a devoted mother, she was a devoted friend that took friendships to heart. There wasn’t anything that she wouldn’t do for those near and dear to her heart. She often would give to other single mothers that were in similar situations that she’d been in.”

The page concludes: “In 2023, we witnessed the shooting of Ralph Yarl and the killing of Kaylin Gillis as instances where the Stand Your Ground doctrine has emboldened individuals to use unnecessary violent force in the name of self-defense. This is yet another instance where the law could potentially come into play and erode justice.

“AJ’s family has partnered with activists and national advocacy groups to effect change on a national scale.”

Shanquella Robinson: Details on N.C. Woman Dead After Brutal Beating During Mexico Trip, Friends Said She Died of Alcohol Poisoning

These days you really have to be careful who you call friends…

Shocking footage of a North Carolina woman getting beaten to death by her so-called “friends” has social media in an uproar.

25-year-old Shanquella Robinson made headlines after she didn’t return home alive from a Cabo, Mexico trip with a group of friends.

Robinson’s family was told she died from alcohol poisoning on the trip, but new footage surfacing online may show otherwise.

In the video, Shanquella can be seen taking several blows from another woman. Throughout the video, she is seen with her head down as she repeatedly gets brutally attacked.

Here are a few things to know about her death:

Shanquella’s family was told she died from alcohol poisoning

Shanquella’s parents Bernard and Salamondra Robinson said she left Charlotte on a trip to Cabo, Mexico with a group of friends on October 28. Shanquella was never seen alive after that trip. Her parents were told she died from alcohol poisoning.

“I spoke with her Friday evening she was having dinner and I never spoke with her again,” Mrs. Robinson told WBTV. “On Saturday evening, they called and said she wasn’t feeling well, and they were going to call a doctor. And when they called, the doctor hadn’t arrived yet, but they
said she had alcohol poisoning.”

An autopsy revealed she suffered a spinal injury

Shanquella’s parents aren’t buying the story from her friends that she died from alcohol poisoning after an autopsy stated that she suffered a spinal injury.

“After they said it was alcohol poisoning, we received the autopsy report on Thursday and it said that her neck had been broken and she had a back spasm there was a crack, spinal cord was [cracked],” Shanquella’s parents told WBTV. “That took it to a whole ‘nother level because that meant somebody had attacked her.”

Shanquella’s friends lied to her parents about the events leading up to her death and told conflicting stories.

Shanquella was reported to have gone on the Mexico trip with her best friend Khalil Cooke and five others. The names of the other five individuals on the trip were later released: Malik Dyer, Wenter Donovan, Alysse Hyatt, Daejhanae Jackson, and Nazeer Wiggins.

According to reports, Shanquella’s best friend Kahlil Cooke was in contact with her family and was the one who revealed she had suffered from alcohol poisoning which led to her tragic death.

After returning home from the trip with the others, Kahlil also went to Shanquella’s family home along with two other women who were on the trip, Wenter Donovan and Daejhanae Jackson. All three told Shanquella’s family that she died from alcohol poisoning.

“When Khalil came back over to Salamondra’s house, he brought Wenter Donovan and Daejhanae Jackson, two of the three girls that were with them in Mexico, with him,” The North Carolina Beat reported. “Donovan and Jackson told Salamondra and her family the same story Khalil told them, Shanquella died from alcohol poisoning.”

However, Shanquella’s family had received phone calls from an anonymous source that a fight had occurred during their Mexico trip in which Shanquella was involved.

“By the time Khalil brought the girls over to my mama’s house, we had started receiving calls that they were over there fighting and jumped my sister, We asked them if that was true, and they said “NO” and that there was no one fighting at all,” Shanquella’s mother Salamondra Long said.

Long also said that none of Shanquella’s friends who attended the trip told the same story regarding her passing, making the cause of death even more questionable.

“No one told the same story, so I never believed them anyway,” she said.

New video footage surfaced showing Shanquella being assaulted by another woman who attended the trip.

Footage showing Shanequella Robinson being brutally attacked in a hotel room has made its way to social media.

While taking several blows to the head and being slung around the room, Shanquella appeared to be helpless and unable to defend herself in footage recorded on the trip in Cabo, Mexico.

The woman attacking Shanquella can be heard shouting “Get up!” while a male recording the video is heard saying “Fight back, at least do something!”

Social media later revealed Shanquella’s attacker as Daejhanae Jackson, who has since deleted her Facebook page and other social media platforms.

On her now-deleted LinkedIn page, Daejhanae Jackson listed herself as an aspiring healthcare professional.

Shanquella Robinson was a proud business owner

According to Shanquella’s family, she was well known for her hair-braiding business.

The last time her mother Salamondra Robinson said she spoke to her daughter, she revealed she was having a good time on her Cabo trip and that she loved her.

“She said they had a chef. They were getting ready to eat. They were eating tacos or a salad or something, and I said, ‘OK. I love you. Have a good night, and I will talk to you tomorrow,” Salamondra told news reporters.

Social media is calling for justice for Shanquella Robinson.

After the video of Shanquella’s beating surfaced online social media users expressed their sadness and disgust over her death.

“This is so disheartening. Please be mindful of who you call a friend & who you take trips with! A jealous friend is worse than a known enemy. Those ‘friends’ be the main ones plotting against you. Prayers to her family & loved ones. I pray that they get some answers, closure, and justice,” one social media user wrote.

Another user wrote: “This is heartbreaking and coldhearted, I pray US Marshall’s step in on this, she needs to haunt all of them for the rest of their lives.”

PnB Rock Dead at 30, Shot & Killed During Robbery at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles

PnB Rock has died after being shot during a robbery earlier today at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times confirmed the rapper/singer’s death. He was 30 years old.

More below (via LA times):

Los Angles police Capt. Kelly Muniz, who would not identify the victim, said the shooting took place at 1 p.m. at the famous eatery on Main Street and Manchester Avenue.

Rock, 30, whose real name is Rakim Allen, had been at the restaurant with his girlfriend, who’d posted a location-tagged photo in a since-deleted Instagram post.

Muniz said a suspect brandished a firearm inside the restaurant and demanded items from the victim. Sources told The Times that Rock was targeted for his jewelry.

“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” she said.

Muniz said the victim was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead at 1:59 pm.

According to a law enforcement source, LAPD investigators are examining security video from inside the restaurant to identify the shooter. They also are checking surrounding businesses to see whether security systems captured any images of the suspect leaving on foot or in a vehicle.

PNB Rock Rushed to Hospital After Being Shot During Attempted Robbery at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles

UPDATE: PnB Rock Dead at 30, Shot & Killed During Robbery at Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in Los Angeles

PNB Rock was shot in Los Angeles Monday afternoon (Sep. 12) in what is being described as a “robbery turned badly,” according to social media reports.

Details are extremely scarce at the moment, but there’s a graphic video circulating on Instagram and Twitter that appears to show the 30-year-old rapper/singer lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood.

The footage shows a man believed to be PNB Rock, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, struggling to move his arms and legs as bystanders frantically try to help him.

TMZ reports that PNB Rock was shot while dining with his girlfriend at a Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant in the Inglewood area of Los Angeles. Police responded to reports of shots fired around 1:23 p.m. PT.

DaBaby Concert in New Orleans Canceled After He Sold Less Than 500 Tickets for 14,000 Seat Arena

A DaBaby concert scheduled to take place on Friday, September 2nd at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans has been canceled due to low ticket sales.

The New Orleans Advocate reports:

Before Ticketmaster’s seating chart for the concert was deactivated Tuesday, it showed that hardly any advance tickets had been sold, even though they were priced as low as $35.

The number of tickets sold appeared to be fewer than 500 for an arena with a concert capacity of 14,000 or more.

Faced with the prospect of potentially losing hundreds of thousands of dollars if DaBaby played to a mostly empty arena, the show’s promoter apparently decided to cut his losses and cancel the show.

Jonathan Kirk, better known as DaBaby, broke out with two full-length albums in 2019. His debut, “Baby on Baby,” yielded the hit “Suge,” while the follow-up, “Kirk,” contained “Intro” and “Bop.” 2020’s “Blame It On Baby” contained the No. 1 single “Rockstar,” a collaboration with Roddy Ricch.

But even as DaBaby has notched one chart success after another, he’s also shot himself in the foot. He was involved in a couple of actual shootings, one of which resulted in a death.

Then, in the summer of 2021, he made comments onstage at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami that were widely seen as homophobic. As a result, DaBaby was booted off the roster of several other festivals last year, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Governors Ball. His non-apology apology didn’t help much.

He’s since embarked on his own headlining arena tour. But if what happened in New Orleans is any indication, his career as a live performer is at a challenging juncture.

Yikes.

Philadelphia Man Stabbed His Children’s Mother 18 Times to Death Because He Thought She Was Cheating on Him

A Philadelphia man accused of stabbing his children’s mother 18 times to death inside a van in broad daylight has officially been charged with murder.

Police said the body of 32-year-old Ashley Lockhart was found Saturday morning (Aug. 9) inside a Honda Odyssey on the 5300 block of Chestnut Street with stab wounds all over her body and face.

Just hours after the gruesome discovery, police said a 34-year-old man was in custody. And now, that man has been identified as Raymond Thompson, who has since been charged with murder and other crimes.

Following the murder, the District Attorney’s Office stated that Thompson was known to police and that Lockhart had filed a protection from abuse order against him, but the couple was still living together for whatever reason.

“I don’t have specifics to answer for you on this man’s record, I do know that it’s very lengthy, and I know the case is extremely sad very, very troubling,” District Attorney Larry Krasner said.

Thompson turned himself in on Saturday, almost immediately after the fatal stabbing of Lockhart, according to authorities. He reportedly told police that after he stabbed Lockhart—who was in the van’s passenger seat—he went and got high on heroin before turning himself in.

The motive for the killing has not been revealed by investigators, but law enforcement sources speaking on the condition of anonymity said Thompson told detectives he stabbed Lockhart because he thought she’d been cheating on him.

“This particular victim did the right thing, but for some reason, she was back with this man in that particular van,” Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore told Philly’s Fox 29. “I don’t know the circumstances of that, I don’t know why that was, but sadly enough she’s not going to be here to tell us what happened.”

According to court records, Thompson had several prior convictions for crimes including drug offenses.

In 2018, he was sentenced to six to 23 months in jail after pleading guilty to charges including risking a catastrophe and resisting arrest. In that case, court records state Thompson ran from police and jumped on train tracks in an attempt to escape after they tried to arrest him for a drug violation.

Lockhart leaves behind six children, the youngest of whom is only five months old.

A GoFundMe established for Lockhart’s children called her “an amazing mother” who “devoted her time, energy, and made sacrifices for [her children] that they will forever remember.”

Nicole L. Linton Charged with Murder in Fiery Crash that Killed Six, She Was Involved in 13 Prior Crashes According to Investigators

The woman responsible for the deadly crash in the Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles that killed six people—including a pregnant woman, her unborn child, one-year-old son and fiancé—was charged Monday (Aug. 8) with six counts of murder and five counts of gross vehicular manslaughter.

The Los Angeles Times reports that 37-year-old Nicole Lorraine Linton is accused of reckless disregard for life in connection with the multi-vehicle crash that happened last Thursday (Aug. 4).

Prosecutors said Linton, a registered nurse from Texas, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz that was traveling at a rate of nearly 100 mph when she sped through a red light shortly after 1:30 p.m. and crashed into traffic at the busy intersection of La Brea and Slauson avenues.

“In an instant, Ms. Linton’s conduct took the lives of six people and injured many others,” L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón said.

Investigators with the California Highway Patrol also found that Linton has a history of dangerous crashes and was involved in 13 prior crashes.

PREVIOUSLY: Police Arrest Driver Who Caused Deadly L.A. Crash That Killed 6 Including Pregnant Woman & Toddler

In order for Linton to be convicted of second-degree murder, prosecutors will have to prove that she acted with implied malice and knew that driving at a high speed on city streets was dangerous to human life.

Such charges are typically presented if the driver is impaired and has a prior DUI conviction after completing DUI classes, and because Linton has a history of dangerous crashes, prosecutors say she knew the threat posed by her driving behavior.

Gascón added that there’s no evidence Linton was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash at this time.

“I know that some of you spoke to a woman that alleged they have been drinking together. The CHP is working to identify this person, but we don’t have any further information,” he said. The district attorney said he wasn’t “going to get into the details” of what prompted the crash and would not comment on what caused it.

Linton’s murder charges are for the deaths of 23-year-old Asherey Ryan, her nearly 1-year-old son Alonzo Quintero, her fiancé Reynold Lester and their unborn child whose birth was due in mere weeks as Ryan was 8½ months pregnant when she was killed. The baby she was carrying was a boy named Armani Lester, and both his birth and death dates were the same day.

“A young family was destroyed in the blink of an eye,” Gascón said in announcing the charges against Linton, a native of New York who spent the last 10 years working as a nurse in Texas before relocating to California where she was temporarily licensed a nurse with a focus on ICU care.

Linton was also charged with murder for the deaths of two women killed in the crash who haven’t been identified yet. The five counts of vehicular manslaughter against her are for the deaths of the four adults and Baby Alonzo, who would have celebrated his first birthday in about two weeks. Ryan’s unborn child couldn’t be included in those charges.

Surveillance footage captured the moment Linton’s black Mercedes-Benz was speeding down La Brea Avenue in Windsor Hills as dozens of cars were seen crossing Slauson Ave.

The Mercedes didn’t appear to slow down before running a red light and crashing into cars in the intersection. The vehicle caught on fire upon impact and flew into a light pole before finally stopping. After the collision, a flame trail was seen burning on the ground and billowing smoke could be seen from miles away.

According to CPH investigators, at least six vehicles were involved in the crash, and in addition to the six fatalities, eight people were injured.

Linton was hospitalized with moderate injuries (a broken foot and broken wrist) for several days before being taken into police custody. It was previously reported that she was being held on $9 million bail at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood.

If Linton is convicted of all of the charges brought against her, she could face up to life in prison.

32-Year-Old Philadelphia Mom of Six Stabbed 18 Times to Death Allegedly by Children’s Father

Six young girls have been left without a mother after a 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death in a brutal murder allegedly committed by the father of her children.

According to Fox 29, police said the body of Ashley Lockhart was found inside a gold Honda Odyssey parked on the side of a road in West Philadelphia just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday morning (Aug. 6).

The woman suffered multiple stab wounds to her body and one to her face, police said, adding that the woman and a man were fighting before she was fatally stabbed.

A weapon was recovered at the scene, but no arrests have been made, though police did confirm that a 34-year-old male person of interest was in custody.

It is believed that that person of interest is Ashley Lockhart’s boyfriend, who is also said to be the father of her children.

While official news reports haven’t mentioned Lockhart’s name, she’s currently trending on Facebook due to the number of people on social media talking about the sad story.

A photo circulating around the internet shows Lockhart and her six daughters, aged between five months and 10 years old, along with a man who appears to be her boyfriend and alleged murderer.

The motive behind the woman’s murder hasn’t been confirmed, but it is being said that it was a domestic violence situation and her children’s father had previously been abusive to her in the past.

A video report from Fox 29 mentioned that a state representative told them that Lockhart lived with her boyfriend just a few blocks from where her body was found and she had a protection from abuse order against him.

Surveillance footage captured the moment the man believed to be the woman’s boyfriend jumped into the vehicle and appeared to assault her before stabbing her 18 times all over her body and face.

According to sources who spoke to Fox 29, the crime was so horrific that when police arrived, the knife was still lodged in the victim’s head.

Members of the community expressed feelings of shock and sadness when speaking about the tragic incident.

“It’s sad, you know, this is horrible how women are treated,” Karyn Karriem, a neighbor of Lockhart’s, told Fox 29. “Their lives just mean nothing. Not only our children, but our women. They care nothing about what’s happening to the women here.”

Ashley Lockhart’s family has started a GoFundMe for her six daughters. The GFM, which has a target goal of $15K, reads::

On Saturday August 6, 2022 Ashley Lockhart was taken so tragic and sudden from her 6 beautiful daughters and family and loved ones. Ashley was an amazing Mother, dedicated working Mother and devoted Mother. She loved all of her children and devoted her time energy and made sacrifices for them that they will forever remember.

As this is extremely difficult to process, and unimaginable to even begin to try and move forward, we the family would like to maintain the momentum for the girls. They are returning to school in a few short weeks, and their every day essentials are important for us to make sure they aren’t lacking, as Ashley did.

The ages of all of the girls are 10, 8, 6, 5, 4 and 3 months. As a family we will make sure that all “6 Charms” (as Ashley called her girls) stay together and that their Mothers life and legacy is one that they will remember. All proceeds will go towards costs and needs for the girls only.

Story developing… More to come.

Asherey Ryan: Quick Facts About Pregnant Woman & 11-Month-Old Son Alonzo Killed in Fiery L.A. Crash

23-year-old Asherey Ryan, her unborn baby boy Armani, her 11-month-old son Alonzo, and her fiancé Reynold Lester have been identified as four of the six victims who were killed Thursday (Aug. 4) in the fiery L.A. crash that has been making headlines all weekend.  The additional two victims—described as two women by the coroner’s office—have not yet been publicly identified.

Also identified was the driver who caused the deadly crash—37-year-old Nicole Loraine Linton. She was injured in the crash as well and was arrested while recovering at the hospital. Police say she will be formally charged Monday.

Here’s what you need to know about Asherey Ryan, her family and the tragic car crash that claimed their lives:

1Asherey Ryan was 8 months pregnant and on the way to a doctor’s appointment with her family at the time of the crash.

Asherey Ryan pictured here with her fiancé Reynold Lester who was also killed in the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon (Aug. 4), a black Mercedes-Benz coupe caused a crash involving as many as six cars near a gas station.

Asherey Ryan was riding in the car with her fiancé Reynold Lester at the time of the crash, and her toddler Alonzo was also inside the vehicle.

Ryan’s family says she was eight months pregnant, and she and her fiancé were on their way to a doctor’s appointment to check on the health of their unborn son, whom they planned to name Armani.

Sharita Randleston, Asherey’s mom and grandmother to the children, described her as a loving mother.

“We were so close. She was my first best friend,” Ryan’s sister, Shaseana Kerr, told NBC Los Angeles.

Kerr said she rushed to the scene immediately after seeing the news reports of the crash, which happened at the busy intersection of S La Brea Ave & Slauson Ave in Windsor Hills. “And when I got there, I felt destruction. I felt just evil. And I knew it was my sister,” she said.

“The first thought that came to my head was that it can’t be, it can’t be, because my daughter her doctor’s appointment was at 2:30, but it was really at 2 o’clock so they left at 1:30,” Ryan’s mother said.

“And then when my daughter Cody sent me a picture, I identified my daughter’s body right then. I knew what she was wearing, and I knew my daughter’s birthmark on the back on the right side, so no one had to tell me that it was her.”

Alonzo’s father Luis Fernando Quintero wrote on Facebook: “I don’t have any words rn [right now] I’m too much in pain because this is something I never expected no one did I’m going to miss you both and I didn’t get to say goodbye or make up for time lost with you Alonzo my heart is aching may y’all rest in [peace] god has gained two amazing angels.”

2The car Ryan was riding in split in half immediately upon impact, killing everyone inside, and she and Baby Alonzo were ejected from the vehicle.

Asherey Ryan and her unborn son were pronounced dead at the scene along with her 11-month-old son Alonzo Luchiano Quintero, whose first birthday would have been next month.

Ryan’s fiancée Reynald Lester, who was the father of her unborn son Armani, was also killed in the crash after their car split in half immediately on impact, sources close to the family confirmed.

Veronica Esquival, who witnessed the crash firsthand, said she was pumping gas just feet away when suddenly she saw debris flying through the air following the fiery collision.

“I was about to pump gas and all of a sudden, I hear all of the noises from all of the collisions, and then the fire explosion and I saw things, metal and things flying in the air. So, I just covered myself behind the pump,” Esquival told KTLA.

“All of the sudden, a baby literally flew from the middle of the intersection to the middle of the gas station and landed right on the floor in front of me. One of the workers came and saw me with the baby and took the baby out of my hands. Somebody tried to resuscitate the baby, but the baby was gone.”

Another heartbroken witness, Alphonso Word, who was just a few cars away from the intersection when the crash happened, said it sounded “like a bomb.” He said the child was “ejected from the street” along with the pregnant mother, who “landed over to the side.”

Word added: “Like I say, it’s the kids. That’s what touched me more than anything, the children, the ones that didn’t get a chance. The mother that probably was happy that she’s having a baby. It hurts. It does … Because I have a grandson. I know people that have kids. For a mother to be pregnant … that child never had a chance.”

3Nicole Lorraine Linton, the driver of the vehicle that crashed into Asherey Ryan and her family, was arrested in the hospital and will be formally charged, police said.

Nicole L. Linton, 37, a registered nurse from Texas who works in Los Angeles, was taken into police custody Friday (Aug. 5) at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood, where she is recovering after suffering “major injuries” as a result of the deadly crash she caused allegedly while driving drunk.

The California Highway Patrol said Linton will be formally charged Monday (Aug. 8) and could face charges of manslaughter with gross negligence.

“She needs to pay for her actions and the justice system needs to see that everything is done to make sure, uphold everything and be accountable for everything,” Asherey Ryan’s mother Sharita Randleston said of Linton.

Randleston lived with all of the family members who died in the crash and said that she can’t go back home.

“I’m so hurt I don’t know what to do,” she said. “That woman took three, four lives from me that I can never get back. Nothing can ever bring my babies back. Nothing.”

Tabia Johnson, a witness to the crash, photographed Linton sitting on a nearby sidewalk after the crash the crash with the burning wreckage visible in the background.

Linton appeared to have only sustained minor injuries, including bleeding near her head, according to Johnson, who condemned the woman’s driving.

Another woman who claimed to be Linton’s friend told reporters Linton was “drunk” and “fighting with her boyfriend” before she got into her car and caused the crash that claimed six lives and left at least eight others severely injured. Of those injured, six were teens with one suffering major injuries, according to reports.

Officials confirmed Linton was alone in the car. “She was drinking and she was not aware that it was a red light because she shot straight through,” Linton’s unidentified friend told KTLA.

Surveillance footage showed Linton’s black Mercedes speeding through an intersection, hitting at least two vehicles that caught fire and were sent hurtling onto a sidewalk before coming to rest against the corner sign of a gas station. A streak of fire led to one car, while another was split in half.

“It looked like the whole intersection from corner to corner was on fire,” said witness Harper Washington. “A lot of sparks and electricity. I was under the impression that, really at first I thought they dropped a bomb on us. I thought another world war had started. Then I realized it was a car into the sign.”

“Once the fire went away and the booming left, I realized it was two cars there. You could see the people on fire and that’s just sad. I really pray for the people and the community.”

4Asherey Ryan’s family has started a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.

A GoFundMe started by Asherey Ryan’s family to help with funeral expenses has exceeded its $100,000 goal from over 2,000 donors (as of the time this article was published).

The message on the page reads:

“On August 4,2022 the worst thing occurred. We lost Asherey Ryan her 11 month old son Alonzo Quintero, Asherey’s unborn baby Armani to a tragic car accident that took place on Slauson and La Brea. We need help with funeral expenses because they did not have insurance so any donations help. Please let the family mourn in peace.”

Police Arrest Driver Who Caused Deadly L.A. Crash That Killed 6 Including Pregnant Woman & Toddler

The reckless driver who caused the fiery L.A. crash that killed six people including a pregnant woman and a toddler has been arrested.

KABC reported that 37-year-old Nicole Lorraine Linton—a registered nurse from Texas—was taken into custody at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood on Friday (Aug. 5), just one day after the car she was driving crashed into several vehicles at a busy intersection in Windsor Hills and ignited a massive fire that instantly claimed the lives of innocent people.

More via KABC:

Charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence will be recommended when the case is presented to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office, the Highway Patrol said.

Earlier Friday morning, authorities identified a pregnant woman and her unborn child as two of the six victims who were killed in the collision.

Los Angeles County coroner’s officials said Asherey Ryan and her unborn son died in the incident.

The coroner’s office did not immediately release the names of the other four deceased victims, but described them as a boy, whose age was not specified, two women and a man.

The young child who died was Asherey Ryan’s son Alonzo, her sister said Friday in an interview with Eyewitness News.

“I drove to the scene,” Ryan’s sister said. “I ran past the police officers just because I wanted to feel her energy one more time.

“Yesterday, I truly lost it,” she said. “My family was broken yesterday. And we’re still broken.”

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a Mercedes-Benz coupe caused a crash involving as many as six cars near a gas station, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Several people were ejected from the cars and two vehicles caught fire. News video from the scene showed the charred and mangled cars, as well as a child’s car seat among the debris covering the street.

Surveillance showed the Mercedes careening through an intersection, striking at least two cars that exploded in flames and were sent hurtling onto a sidewalk, winding up against the gas station’s corner sign. A fiery streak led to one car. One vehicle was sheared in half.

Seven injured people were taken to the hospital, including the woman who was driving the Mercedes. Her injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The other victims had minor injuries and included a 33-year-old woman and six children ranging in age from 13 months old to 15 years old, CHP Officer Franco Pepi said.

Witness Alphonso Word choked up as he described seeing the pregnant woman and a child in the immediate aftermath of the crash.

“It hurts. It does,” Word said. “Because I have a grandson. I know people that have kids. For a mother to be pregnant … that child never had a chance.”
