Rihanna and her BFF/personal assistant Melissa Ford were spotted at LAX airport in Los Angeles Friday (Nov 20) as they made their way through the terminals after touching down in the city.
Even though she and Chris Brown are not allowed to communicate with each other in any kind of way, she says she still finds herself listening to her music. And yes … she actually “misses” him.
“There are a lot of … places that we’ve been to together, music, different things that come up that are reminders of your ex,” the singer, 21, tells the Atlanta radio station Q100. “When [his music] comes on the radio, I don’t … turn it off. I like his music.”
She adds: “I’ve gotten over it, but there are definitely constant reminders … songs that were our favorite songs, or hit songs.”
And is she dating that guy from 90210? Short answer? No. She doesn’t even have his phone number! And she says she’s not even interested in being in a relationship right now.
The paparazzi spotted entertainer Rihanna leaving her hotel in London Tuesday night (Nov 17). That mystery bump still appears to be sitting right above her left eye. What the hell is going on with that? We wish she used her Twitter more like Chris Brown. We probably would have found out by now.
Anyway, she premiered songs from her new album Rated R Monday night (Nov 16) in London and brought out Jay-Z for “Run This Town” and invited Young Jeezy on the stage to debut her new single, “Hard.”
Following her big Nokia-sponsored live concert, Rihanna and her people, including Beyonce, Jay-Z and her assistant/best friend Melissa Ford, partied the night away Monday (Nov 16) at Mahiki nightclub, Mayfair in London. Actor Idris Elba was also spotted enjoying himself at the nightclub.
Last night at London’s Brixton Academy, pop singer Rihanna performed her very first live concert since her February 8th altercation with Chris Brown. Performing a 45-minute set of hits and new songs from her forthcoming album Rated R, Rihanna was joined by Jay-Z and Young Jeezy as she helped Nokia launch their new X6 cell phone. The concert was streamed live worldwide via the Internet.
She emerged on stage in an eye mask and studded leotard to perform a selection of new songs and hits like Take A Bow. Jay-Z made his surprise appearance for the finale, performing his recent hit, Run This Town, and Rihanna’s Umbrella. Several members of the audience, made up of competition winners, held aloft umbrellas during the song in an unorthodox moment of crowd participation.
The 45-minute show kicked off with two songs from Rihanna’s new album – Wait Your Turn and Russian Roulette. Slow-burning and dramatic, they set the tone for a concert where many of the star’s hits were reinvented with distorted guitars and dark, pulsing synths.
The set-list included fan favourites such as Don’t Stop The Music and Disturbia, while Rihanna was also joined by rapper Young Jeezy for Hard, a track which is set to be the second single from her new album.
Wearing a furry grey hat (must be hella cold over the pond!) and dark sunglasses, pop Rihanna was spotted arriving at her hotel in London Sunday night (Nov 15). But eff what she has on and where she was going … where’d that knot above her eye come from?! We’re so glad she’s not allowed to be within 300 yards of Chris Brown for the next 5 years. Why? Because it would be damn hard to convince people that he’s not behind that big ol’ knot. She probably ran into something anyway, but still…
Rihanna is currently in London, England making her promotional rounds for her new album Rated R. And here are a few pics of the pop singer as she leaves BBC Radio One Friday (Nov 13).
In related news, the “Russian Roulette” singer is set to host a special concert today sponsored by Nokia at the Brixton Academy. This will mark Rihanna’s first show since the February assault incident and the concert will be streamed live on the internet, beginning at 3 PM Eastern (right now!!)
Sources say Jay-Z and Kanye West will join her for their hit single, “Run This Town.” A source told UK newspaper The Sun: “Rihanna seems to be orchestrating a star-studded event.”
Here’s Rihanna’s new music video for her “Russian Roulette” single.
This one here is much better than “Wait Your Turn.” It’s pretty dark but it’s different for Rihanna. The cinematography and editing alone is amazing! But we can already see the Illuminati theorists getting their stuff together and coming HARD after this video. Anyway, be on the look out for Rihanna’s new album Rated R, due in stores next week! And check out the new Anthony Mandler directed clip when you continue reading…
A new song from Rihanna’s upcoming Rated R album leaked not too long ago. The track is called “Cold Case Love” and it was written by Justin Timberlake and produced by his team.
In the song, she’s obviously taking shots at ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. The track is not bad but it isn’t anything to write home about. We got a bit bored listening to it but it finally heats up about 3 and a half minutes in. Unfortunately, she doesn’t sing for too much longer after that and the ending is a bit too long. Definitely not a bad track but we’re lad it’s not a single…for now.
Singer Rihanna, pictured above with her boss, Island Def Jam record exec Antonio “L.A.” Reid, made a public appearance Monday night (Nov 9) in New York City at the Glamour Magazine 2009 Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall.
Wearing an ivory gown by designer Stephane Rolland, here she can be seen hitting the red carpet of the event, designed to honor the biggest women of the year 2009. Read her acceptance speech below:
“It was a real honor to be named Glamour’s Woman of the Year, especially because I think of myself as just becoming a woman. I just turned 21 this year. Just to be mentioned in this group of women is overwhelming. I love being a part of a night where we’re celebrating women and such strong women.”
She thanked a host of people, including her record label, her mentor Jay-Z and her mother and grandmother.
“They are my two women of the year. I love you very much, Granny. I love you very much, mom. They’ve shown me what strong women can accomplish and achieve. Without their unconditional love and guidance, I wouldn’t be here, and I hope I can be an example for young girls and women today. Thank you so much.”
Other celebrities at the event were Estelle (who performed), actress Gabourey Sidibe, Serena Williams and more. Continue reading for the rest of the pictures!
According to our homie BlogXilla, ABC got a whopping 8.1 million people to tune in last Friday night (Nov 6) for that big Rihanna 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer. He also posted an excerpt from a Complex Magazine interview where Rihanna talked about how she made her mom “pretty upset” when she smashed a glass bottle in her younger brother’s face.
Complex: Did you see 300? Rihanna: [Deadly serious.] 300 is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The choreography, the fighting, the costumes, the production—phenomenal. I make everybody watch it.
Complex: So you didn’t think it was too violent. Rihanna: Oh, not at all. That was the good part. I’m the oldest child with two brothers. We talk all the time now, but we used to fight—and when I say “fight,” I don’t mean arguments, I mean physically fight.
Complex: Who won? Rihanna: I hit the older one in his face with a glass bottle.
Complex: Bokkle dem! Whoa. Remind me not to piss you off. Rihanna: Yeah, my mom was pretty upset.
We’re just going to leave it at that and let you draw your own conclusions…
Also, Chris Brown released a statement following the 20/20 interview, maintaining his stance on keeping the details of the incident private. Too bad Rihanna didn’t get the memo beforehand.
