Blac Chyna Shares First Photo of Her Unborn Kardashian Baby

As Blac Chyna rounds out the first trimester of her pregnancy with Rob Kardashian‘s first-born child, she took to Instagram to reflect on how happy having this baby is making her feel.

Chyna posted a photo of the couple’s first ultrasound with a very sappy but sweet caption in which Chyna remembers the days she thought she would never have another child or man in her life other than her 3-year-old son King Cairo.

“For a long time I felt like King was going to be an only child. That he was my greatest blessing and we were gonna live happily ever after together Just the 2 of us, I was no longer looking for love because I thought I had all that I needed. We needed. But look at God ! Here I am Engaged to be married to one of the greatest men I know who loves King & I unconditionally AND having another bundle of joy! I just want to say Never give up & ALWAYS have faith because fairytales DO come True #LookAtOurLittleNugget #KingsGoingToBeABigBrother”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFxYWdNRvjy/

This is real. These two seem to be very excited about this baby.

Two weeks ago, Rob praised Chyna’s motherly instincts in a Mother’s Day message dedicated to to his wife-to-be.

“I fell in Love with her immediately because of how great of a mom she is and now I’m looking forward to starting a family with her.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFKVNRtpWQ5/

No one is more excited about this baby than us. For a while we didn’t believe it, but here are the receipts to prove it.

The birth of the potentially coolest Kardashian is less than eight months away. And we can’t wait.

Nobody Likes D. Smith and Betty Idol on “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”

After the epic breakup episode last week, Love & Hip Hop Atlanta decided to give us a break and introduce some news faces in the mix to shake things up.

Like J-Nicks, for instance, who is best described as a butch lesbian-looking version of Twista.

jnicks

The strange thing though is that he’s floated as a love interest for Tiarra, but with that Ms. Thang headscarf (which makes no sense since he’s bald) and those diva shades, I think J-Nicks might would rather bump uglies with D. Smith.

Seriously, the shot of J-Nicks, Tiarra and Jessica Dime chatting at the counter looked like a still from the Real Housewives of Atlanta when the girls meet up to settle some beef.

jnicks-tiarra-dime

Nene Leakes, is that you girl?

Scrapp Is Definitely Pulling a Mendeecees

scrapp-family-meeting

I guess the “Shit, I’m going to prison” thing must’ve done wonders for the LHHNY edition of the franchise because Mona and co. are copying and pasting the shit out of Mendeecees’ storyline with Scrapp.

In a dramatic move, Scrapp calls his “family” over to his apartment so he can break the news about the fact that he’s being sentenced to jail for 5 years. Everyone looks like they’re attending a funeral. Tommie, who ain’t even engaged to this dude, is weeping like she’s been a good wife for a solid 10 years.

Meanwhile, I’m wondering why the hell I should give a damn about a criminal getting locked up for doing fuckboy shit. If Mona wants to pull at my heartstrings, she’s gonna need to find people who are actually worth crying over.

On the back of Scrapp’s sentencing, he tries once again to get his mother KK to sit with Tiarra to squash their beef so his family can maintain a relationship with his son. This time, KK relents and agrees to meet with Tiarra.

But guess how things turn out? Tiarra is on the defensive from the jump and KK doesn’t have a diplomatic bone in her body. So when Tiarra starts to express hesitation about reconciliation, KK sinks her teeth in and shouts about how she doesn’t like Tiarra. Then the two of them proceed to threaten to show up on each other’s door steps while security holds them back from tearing each other apart.

tiarra-kk-fight

You know, with a ratchet grandma like KK, maybe this baby boy is better off without contact from her.

D. Smith and Betty Idol Piss All the Girls Off

dsmith-yells

I really don’t know why D. Smith and Betty Idol were added to the cast of LHHATL. They don’t seem terribly connected to the key players and everyone who they spend more than 5 seconds with onscreen hates them.

At K. Michelle’s release party, Joseline and Ariane rub shoulders with D. Smith and Betty Idol. D. Smith apparently has beef with K. Michelle’s make-up artist Japan, and when K and Joseline bring it up, D. Smith goes nuclear as if Japan snatched her testes from her ball sack.

bambi-dsmith-betty

And when the Bambi makes her way over to K’s party later, Betty and D. Smith AGAIN get into it and D. Smith makes a sarcastic remark about Bambi being a trans girl like her.

“I respect you. I think you’re making history. It’s only two of us and us trans girls gotta stick together!” D. Smith says.

Now that was shade well served.

But then Betty Idol starts piping up, trying to go back and forth with Bambi over some song credits and it just devolves into a pathetic dick clit measuring contest. D. Smith is a pitbull and Betty is her chihuahua and frankly, both of these dumb bitches need muzzles put on them ASAP.

BET Promises Proper Prince Tribute in Shady Tweet About Madonna’s Billboard Awards Performance

Talk about killing two birds with one shady-ass stone.

Madonna closed out the 2016 Billboard Music Awards with a dreadful Prince tribute performance that put ZERO respeck on the Purple One’s legacy.

This is how our own Roger Ratchet described the uneventful performance:

We didn’t get any flashbacks of ’80s greatness from Madonna. Instead, we were tortured with a wretched, pained 8-minute long tribute that consisted of Madonna screeching, caterwauling and groaning through “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain,” which she roped in serial awards-show performer Stevie Wonder for.

Dressed like a pimp version of Prince and with a face that was injected with so much botox that her mug looked like it was made of marshmallows, Madonna’s boring, awful tribute surely sent Prince into a second death in the afterworld.

Fortunately for us, the 2016 BET Awards are right around the corner, and they’re promising a proper tribute to honor the late, great Prince Rogers Nelson.

Not too long after Madonna’s struggle of a tribute performance ended, BET shared a promo clip on their social media channels pledging to do their Prince Tribute at their award show the right way.

“Yeah, We saw that,” the promo reads. “Don’t worry. We Got You.”

https://twitter.com/bet/status/734584199546589184

Well, damn. SHOTS FIRED. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. BANG BANG BANG BANG. They basically killled two birds with one stone! They’re promoting

BET better come through with the best Prince tribute ever with warning shots like that.

The 2016 BET Awards airs live from Los Angeles on June 26th.

Tamar Braxton Reportedly Fired From “The Real”

Tamar Braxton will no longer be a host on “The Real.”

Tamar’s departure from the show was confirmed in a statement from the daytime talk show Sunday morning (May 22):

“THE REAL and Tamar Braxton have mutually decided that Tamar will not be continuing with the show for its upcoming third season. She will be leaving in order to concentrate on her solo career. Everyone associated with THE REAL appreciates Tamar’s efforts and the contributions she has made to the show’s success, and we wish her all the best for the future.”

The night before, Braxton shared a cryptic post on Instagram signaling her exit from the show.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFsBMv3AsXI/

I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted ( not my man or my sisters) I am not about to be tried and tested to snitch (?) and it’s not in good taste to tell you who…… but as #tamartians you are very smart and can figure things out on your own. But know that every one who smiles in your face is NOT your friend and is NOT cheering for you and will LIE and try and tear u down to TRY and dim your light. Thank GOD HE HOLDS MY FUTURE AND MY HAND!

(Remember who u are)….I am Tamar Braxton. And if you thought for 1 sec u played me…..In the late great prince and the amazing Beyoncé voice you PLAYED yourself? to God be the Glory and I will be taking a short break from ALL social media…until then? yourself and WATCH YOUR BACK ( I put this picture up cause this is the embrace I got from my sister and best friend that she ALWAYS gives when she knows I’ve been had)

Despite The Real and Tamar’s “joint statement” noting that Braxton’s exit from the show was “mutually decided,” online reports claim otherwise.

According to Love B. Scott, the “Love and War” singer was actually fired from the show.

Citing a “very reliable source,” the gossip blog reported that Braxton was fired because “she wasn’t reading too well with the audience and sales people didn’t find her to be a good fit with advertisers.” On top of that, “production found her too difficult to deal with,” the insider added.

The site also notes that Tamar has unfollowed everyone (Adrienne Bailon, Jeannie Mai, Loni Love, and “The Real”) but Tamara Mowry-Housley.

Ariana Grande Electrifies Billboard Awards Stage with “Into You” Performance

Fresh off the release of her third album Dangerous Woman, Ariana Grande took to the 2016 Billboard Music Awards stage to perform two cuts from the project.

After singing a small portion of her new album’s title track, Grande launched into a electrifying live debut performance of her new single “Into You.”

Earlier in the evening, Ariana tripped up on the red carpet, but managed to make a nice recovery into the arms of E! News reporter Sibley Scoles.

“I almost broke my ass,” Ariana joked. “Can we rewind? But that pony! You gotta make it work.”

Fortunately for her, she didn’t fall during her performance. Check it out below.

Demi Lovato’s Billboard Awards Performance a Statement on Bathroom Laws?

Back in April, Demi Lovato made a huge statement in support of transgender rights by canceling her and Nick Jonas’ tour dates in North Carolina in protest of the state’s infamous “bathroom law.”

But did she use her 2016 Billboard Music Awards performance Sunday night to make an even bigger statement?

USA Today reports:

At her performance during the Billboard Music Awards Sunday night, Lovato donned a bedazzled black shirt with the gender inclusivity symbol (a bathroom symbol depicting half a man and half a woman) and sang her 2015 hit Cool for the Summer in front of what looked like an artist’s rendering of yellow and black bathroom tiles.

The subject matter of her song Cool for the Summer also speaks to LGBT exploration and bi-curious flirtation.

Lovato and Jonas cancelled their Honda Civic Tour: Future Now shows in Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., to protest the “bathroom bill,” which is widely believed to be discriminatory against gays and transgender people.

“One of our goals for the tour has always been to create an atmosphere where every single attendee feels equal, included, and accepted for who they are,” Lovato wrote in a statement on Twitter that was signed by both her and Jonas.

Pink Wows at the Billboard Awards with “Just Like Fire” Performance

Pink always puts on great awards show performances, and this year’s Billboard Music Awards performance was no different.

For the live debut of “Just Like Fire,” her new single from the Alice Through the Looking Glass soundtrack, Pink pulled out all the stops, kicking the performance off by flying in the air, similar to her 2010 Grammys performance.

And right before you could even say, “Oh God, here she goes again with the same ol’ Cirque du Soleil-type act,” she returned to the stage for some choreography while her dancers did acrobatics in the background.

Pink finished her performance off by actually setting a giant clock on fire with her swinging above the stage on oversized clock hands.

Check it out below.

Watch: Fifth Harmony & Ty Dolla $ign Perform “Work from Home” at the Billboard Awards

Fifth Harmony teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign Sunday night (May 22) to perform their new hit single “Work From Home” at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

The performance comes just a few days before the release of the pop quintet’s second studio album 7/27, which is due out this Friday (May 27).

Justin Bieber Performs “Company” and “Sorry” at the 2016 Billboard Awards

Justin Bieber took a short break from touring to attend the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, and while there, the 22-year-old pop star performed a medley of his Purpose singles “Company” and “Sorry.”

We usually love JB on stage and are huge fans of Purpose, but this performance left a lot to be desired. The choreography from his dancers was on point, but the Biebs didn’t look like he had as much energy as everyone else on stage.

Plus, besides singing a few lines here and there, he was lip synching for most of the routine, and he wasn’t even dancing that hard. Luckily we had his fancy set and a laser light show to keep us distracted from Bieber’s lazy performance.

Watch Madonna Kill Prince Again With Her Dreadful Tribute at the Billboard Music Awards

When Madonna was announced as the performer who would be honoring the late, great Prince Rogers Nelson at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards with a tribute performance, I was surprised but not distressed.

No, Madonna is not the first artist who comes to mind when I think of Prince and his musical style, but she was a peer and she can bring good energy to a live performance, so maybe Madonna would get funky to “Let’s Go Crazy” or something.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get any flashbacks of ’80s greatness from Madonna. Instead, we were tortured with a wretched, pained 8-minute long tribute that consisted of Madonna screeching, caterwauling and groaning through “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain,” which she roped in serial awards-show performer Stevie Wonder for.

Watch Rihanna Stun With “Love On the Brain” Performance at the Billboard Music Awards

Rihanna can sing. There, I said it. Some of you people might be scrunching your nose and rolling your eyes but the statement is a fact and her performance at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards will make you a believer in the Fenty spirit if you weren’t before.

It’s no secret that Rihanna has built her career on a catalogue of largely uptempo pop jams that weren’t vocally demanding. But Rihanna has steadily and consistently produced stunning ballads, such as “Russian Roulette,” “Stay” and “Diamonds.” Her live performances of these ballads, however, haven’t always been so sweet.

With “Love on the Brain,” from her album ANTI, at the Billboard Music Awards, Rihanna channeled some serious Mary J. Blige and gave us SOUL. Rihanna’s voice bellowed, growled and flitted into her head voice with mastery. And the crowd ate up every single drop of it.

The Grinch-inspired outfit and stage setup was questionable, but I guess she’s just carrying over her green theme from her iHeart Radio Music Awards performance of “Bitch Better Have My Money” from last year?

Watch Rihanna sing her face off at the Billboard Awards below.

Watch Britney Spears Sort of Get Her Groove Back at the Billboard Awards

Back in her heyday, Britney Spears was that chick. Ya heard me?

Britney had body, sass and sex appeal for days. As a vocalist, she was certainly no Christina Aguilera, but that statement is both a compliment and a diss.

While no one will deny that Christina’s got golden pipes, Aguilera has used her instrument like a sledgehammer, pounding her listeners into submission with her yelping and hollering. Britney, on the other hand, has preferred to coo and breathily moan her way to pop star fame and glory.

And truthfully, what Britney lacked in vocal prowess, she made up with her ear as she has a catalogue full of hits that are bound to please any millennial crowd. And back in her heyday, Britney Spears could dominate the shit out of a stage, lip synching and all.

That all changed back in 2007 when lost her mind and gave the world one of her worst live televised performances at the VMAs.

britney-billboard2

Here’s the good news: Britney’s “comeback” performance (if you’re asking “Come back from what?”, I’m talking about that god awful Britney Jean era that we all would prefer to pretend never happened) at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards was NOT anywhere near the level of bad that was the 2007 VMAs. No, she’s not back at 2001 VMAs level either, but let’s face it: She’s never going to get back to that level.

However, there were genuine moments of spark, snap and life that Britney gave during her medley, which included some bold and daring choices. You have to be a true Britney fan to appreciate the deep cuts that Britney pulled out, which include “Touch of My Hand” and “Breathe on Me” from the underrated In The Zone album. But “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” we could’ve just done without, though the dry humping on the giant glittery guitar was quite nice.

Watch Britney put in that work with her opening performance from the 2016 Billboard Music Awards below.

Beyoncé Performed an Entire Concert in Rainy, 40-Degree Weather and Still Slayed

Add cold, rainy weather to the list of things that can’t stop Beyoncé from slaying on stage.

Beyoncé’s “Formation” World Tour stopped in the town of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada Friday night (May 20), and as usual, Queen Bey put on a spectacular 2-hour show that her fans will never forget. But this concert was a tad different, even for Beyoncé, apparently.

Fans were advised ahead of time to “dress warmly” and prepare for cold weather and a chance of rain.

https://twitter.com/FormationWT/status/733749332000669697

BeyHivers attending the concert were also reminded that, like every date on the “Formation” World Tour, which is being performed exclusively at huge stadiums (some indoor, some outdoor), the show is rain or shine.

https://twitter.com/FormationWT/status/733756035463188480

The temperature was dangerously close to freezing point. Any lower and it could have possibly sleeted or snowed. But the show must go on.

https://twitter.com/FormationWT/status/733863994620944388

And Beyoncé came prepared. She switched up some of her stage costumes to include overcoats, and of course she looked amazing.

Gossip On This was in Raleigh, North Carolina earlier this month when a lightning storm (accompanied by heavy rain showers) forced us concertgoers to evacuate the Carter-Finley stadium for nearly an hour while the storm passed, which we thought was a big deal at the time.

But after hearing how the Canadian BeyHive had to battle the rain AND the freezing cold temperatures in Edmonton, we’re a bit more appreciative of our little lightning storm.

According to reports, the weather in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) was a chilling 40 degrees Fahrenheit (about 4 degrees Celsius) throughout Beyoncé’s entire 2-hour set.

Beyoncé herself even acknowledged how cold it was outside, saying, “Can you feel your fingers? I can’t feel my fingers” after performing an acapella version of “Love on Top” with the crowd.

“I have to say this is the coldest show I’ve ever done,” she said before singing the show’s closing song Halo. “But it feels incredible.”

Despite battling the freezing cold and the rain for over 2 hours, it was all worth it, according to fans on Twitter, because Beyoncé still put on an unforgettable show.

Well, Damn! Soulja Boy Really Did Sign a $400 Million Deal

Earlier this month, Soulja Boy shocked the web when he tweeted that he had landed a deal worth $400 million.

Besides making the announcement, Soulja didn’t give any details on what the deal was or who it was with, leaving many to wonder if the whole thing was a desperate attempt by Soulja Boy to get everyone’s attention.

Well it turns out, Soulja wasn’t lying after all and he will be cashing in on some very BIG coins.

World Poker Fund confirmed in a press release Friday (May 20) that they have struck a 5-year endorsement deal with Soulja Boy, who they believe will “mobilize his network” to promote the company’s online gaming assets, which will also include their soon-to-launch “in-flight gaming” platform.

The company bills itself as the leading developer and operator of online and event based social gaming platforms and brands, on their website.

In the press release, WPF labeled Soulja Boy as one of the most influential urban entertainers and artist on social media, and compared their deal with Soulja Boy to Diddy’s deal with Ciroc and 50 Cent’s with Vitamin Water.

Soulja Boy also released a statement in World Poker Fund’s press release explaining why he will be a great addition to the company.

“I invest in things I understand. I enjoy music, and of course gaming. Being an influencer is a form of currency. Having portfolio diversification is critical if you want to be an effective brand ambassador. With regards to World Poker Fund, I believe in its strategy, its team, the vision, and management’s ability to target its financial goals.”

President of 1-800-PublicRelations and spokesperson and publicist for World Poker Fund Holdings Matthew Bird also bragged about Soulja and how he has already been able to build the company’s brand.

“The world of marketing is changing, today’s biggest influencers are not brands, but individuals who create content that drive loyalty and brand sentiment. We no longer are fed content from major news networks — we seek it out and consume it by individual influencers that enrich our lifestyles. Soulja Boy represents the best of the best and we are already seeing the impact from his presence.”

Last week, Soulja announced that he had signed to FilmOn Records, the same label that signed Chief Keef and suspended him in November for management issues. He also posted a pic on IG of him and FilmOn CEO and billionaire Alki David with the caption, “I’m in the fam.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFSM2mULjyN/?taken-by=souljaboy

In April, Soulja Boy was credited as a writer on Beyonce’s Lemonade album after his 2008 hit “Turn My Swag On” was sampled on “Hold Up.”

Soulja Boy currently owns his own label SODMG Records and a shoe line called SBeezy Lights.

Can you say … winning?!?!?!?!?!?

Why Whitney Houston’s Hologram Will Not Duet With Christina Aguilera on “The Voice”

Here’s one more scandal, brought to you by holograms.

If you know anything about Christina Aguilera, you know she loves Whitney Houston with all her heart. So you can probably imagine how crushed she was when the Whitney Houston estate pulled the plug on a scheduled posthumous duet between the two singers that no one ever asked for.

The Voice had planned on airing a performance between the divas next week during its Season 10 finale. But Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and executor of her estate, released a statement telling you and everyone else why that will not be happening:

“We are so appreciative of the opportunity for the Whitney Houston hologram to appear on NBC’s The Voice with a talent pairing as extraordinary as Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston. We were looking to deliver a ground breaking duet performance for the fans of both artists.

“Holograms are new technology that take time to perfect, and we believe with artists of this iconic caliber, it must be perfect. Whitney’s legacy and her devoted fans deserve perfection. After closely viewing the performance, we decided the hologram was not ready to air. We have much respect and appreciation for Christina, and she was absolutely flawless.”

Lucky for us, a video of the performance has leaked online, and it shows Whitney and Christina singing together flawlessly. They brought back 90’s Whitney with the updo to help Christina sing “I Have Nothing” and “I’m Every Woman.” The vocals are on point, and Whitney even has a majestic, on-stage wardrobe change.

So even though the performance part of the situation went well, here are the reasons I think this didn’t work out:

1. No one ever asked for this.

2. Lighting issues make Whitney’s hologram look like a light-skinned-Aunt-Viv version of herself.

3. Christina’s opaque cape with the hood… O_O

4. Whitney looks a little flat … as in two-dimensional.

5. And Whitney’s hologram should be making an appearance somewhere a bit more important than The Voice‘s tenth season finale.

We love Whitney. She is a legend. Watch her hologram harmonize from heaven in the video below, and keep your eyes peeled for a crying Pat Houston at the end of the clip.

Jussie Smollett: I Never Said I Was Leaving Empire

Fans of Empire can now rest easy knowing that Jamal Lyon survived being shot, and Jussie Smollett is not leaving the show.

Smollett had Empire fans in a tizzy last week when he teased that he would be leaving the show after the finale to pursue his music career and to do movies.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with Empire. I love you all. Truth,” Smollet wrote in a message on Twitter. “Time to make a record and some movies.”

After the Season 2 finale aired Wednesday night (May 18), Jussie posted a video update on Twitter explaining what he really meant in that tweet.

“First of all, I said ‘I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Empire Fox,’ which is true,” he said. “I said ‘I love you all,’ which I do. I said, ‘Time to go make a record and some movies,’ which I am.”

Jussie’s co-star Gabourey Sidibe, however, was not here for his “explanation” and she went AWF on him.

“Let me light that ass up with facts real quick though!” Sidibe screamed before she went into the ghetto clap. “What you said though, was, ‘I thoroughly…,’ first of all your timing was f**ked up!”

Ha! We all feel you Gabby, but we’re just glad Jamal is OK and Jussie ain’t going NOOO-WHERE.

Tyga Attacks Birdman in “Cash Money” Diss Track (NEW MUSIC)

Tyga finally stepped out from the Kardashians’ shadows to release some new music.

It’s been almost two years since Tyga went through a public falling out with his label YMCMB after airing out his frustrations with the label holding artists’ albums and royalties hostage. This led him to leak his last album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty independently and concentrate on mixtapes and collaborations with Chris Brown in the meantime.

He wasn’t alone in his issues with Cash Money CEO Birdman, though. Months after making his initial statements, Lil Wayne joined Tyga by filing a $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money, ordering them to release his long-awaited album Tha Carter V and pay him a bunch of money owed over the last 10-plus years of his career.

Due to loyalty towards Lil Wayne, Tyga is hanging on to the Young Money name as he tries to buy his way out of his janky contract, which is keeping his career in limbo. But now that he’s less concentrated on how to keep Kylie Jenner around, it looks like Tyga is back to the music and starting things off with a bang.

His new track “Cash Money” lyrically lists his grievances with Cash Money over a club-ready beat with a chorus highlighting Birdman’s sketchy payment plans:

“Cause I’m paid, cash money / Cash Money never paid me, but your boy did his thing / And still made, cash money / Yeah it’s mine, I could throw it in the air if I wanna.”

While other parts of the song see Tyga standing up for Lil Wayne:

“I’m a hot boy, shout out Weezy Baby / If your man is loyal, nigga you should pay him” … “I’m a hot boy, free BG / Free the Carter 5, let the streets eat.”

Although Tyga doesn’t outright put “disrespeck” on Birdman’s name, he is taking shots at Birdman’s already unstable reputation as a label head (and human being).

Listening to the song, it’s like Tyga wishes being a Cash Money artist had somehow worked out with his references to Juvenile lyrics and Manny Fresh melodies (plus that Cash Money font on the artwork). Let’s just hope he doesn’t feel the same way about becoming a part of the Kardashian Krew.

Blake Lively’s “L.A. Face with an Oakland Booty” Instagram Post Irks Social Media

Blake Lively posted on Instagram that she had an “L.A. face with an Oakland booty” and, as expected, all hell broke loose on social media.

For the past few weeks, the 28-year-old actress, famous for playing Serena van der Woodsen in the hit drama “Gossip Girl,” has been posing for a bunch of photos on the red carpet for various events in conjunction with the 2016 Cannes Film Festival in France, but there’s one set of photos that has social media really talking.

On Tuesday night (May 17), Lively ended up pissing a lot of people off when she posted a photo on Instagram showing off an unusually plump backside along with the caption, “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.” The post has well over 600,000 likes and more than 25,000 comments.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BFhx9lGR4Jj/

Some people got that Blake was just quoting Sir-Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” and they giggled at her little joke. But others who didn’t get the joke thought Lively’s comments were racially insensitive, essentially making a mountain out of a molehill. Then there were the select few who just didn’t give a holy hot damn either way.

Here are a few comments from Instagram:

And here are a few tweets from Twitter:

See, here’s the thing: I get both sides. I don’t think Blake Lively intended to make this into a thing about race. She honestly was just innocently flipping through pictures of herself, noticed that one photo showed that she has a lil’ junk in the trunk, and came up with a funny caption to post on Instagram. That’s all.

All of this faux outrage over stuff like this needs to stop. It’s not really that serious. Let’s back off of Blake Lively a bit and turn our anger towards George Zimmerman and his continued existence.

Rhonda and Anika Go At Each Other’s Throats in the Empire Season 2 Finale

You want drama? Empire will give you drama!

Even though the show had a whopping 18 episodes this season to draw out the tensions and battles that they laid the foundation for at the start of the season, the writers instead opted for the kitchen sink approach and decided to tie up every loose end they could in 45 minutes.

That budding romance between Lucious and Cookie? Lucious admits he could never marry another.

That puppy love, co-dependent relationship between Hakeem and Laura? We get a wedding.

That suspicious nagging feeling Rhonda has that Anika might have had something to do with her tumble down the stairs? Rhonda jumps straight from suspicion to all-out assault and accusation.

Which is a really strange and bizarre twist because Rhonda went from being utterly clueless and ignorant about Anika’s devilish ways to highly woke and alert in a way that didn’t make sense given the evidence she had in front of her. At this point, the ONLY thing Rhonda is going off of to accuse Anika of murdering her baby is just a hazy memory of seeing the bottom of Anika’s Louboutins. That’s it.

Don’t the writers think we as an audience deserve something a bit meatier than that if we’re going to pull for Rhonda? And furthermore, doesn’t Anika’s character deserve a bit more nuance and exploration than she just shoved her friend down the steps because? Can we get some insights into her motivation? Surely she thought about the possibility that she’d get caught? Or did she have the ability to see into the future and know Rhonda would suffer from temporary amnesia after her fall.

It’s interesting that the season finale of Empire‘s second season is bookended by physical altercations between Rhonda and Anika.

In the first eight minutes of the episode, Rhonda bursts into Lucious’ office and yells out, “I knew I heard your voice you evil bitch!” and then proceeds to grab Anika by the throat and punch her.

Can someone let me know when Rhonda joined Crime Mob? Because she is knuckin’ and buckin’ and ready to fight!

Of course, this is wildly inconsistent with her character’s behavior prior to this episode as she and Andre have operated behind the scenes and in the shadows. They know how to throw a rock and hide their hand. But who needs character development and consistency when you can have a cat fight on primetime television?

Where the stakes for Rhonda and Anika’s confrontation really get elevated though is by the end when Anika (now wedded to Lucious Lyon — like I said, they crammed a lot of shit in this episode) is confronted by an OJ-inspired Rhonda who again strangles her and attempts to throw her off the building.

Andre catches the two ladies mid-struggle and as they battle it out on the ledge, the screen goes black and we hear a woman scream. Which woman fell off the building? You’ll have to wait till season 3.

If it feels like a cheap, tacky ploy to draw viewers back, that’s because it is, but Empire is shameless at doing whatever it takes to stir the pot. So take it for what it is.

He Brought Hookers to Your Son’s Wedding

As far as classy affairs go, Hakeem’s wedding falls short on the list of must-see events. But for Shine Johnson, a rapper and producer from Lucious’ past, it’s the party of the century.

Although Laura’s parents are mortified at the prospect of Shine attending the wedding (he’s apparently well-known), Shine is excited to have an opportunity to put some hos on his arms and sip fancy stuff out of glasses.

Shine’s entrance, with a a few hookers surrounding him, is one of the more wow-worthy moments in the show and one of Lucious’ friends sums it up best, “He brought hookers to your son’s wedding…”

As far as low moments go, Shine Johnson’s trashy behavior ranks up there. Especially since Shine’s hos look so tired and too damn ghetto.

Meet the New Mr. and Mrs. Lyon

After enduring endless flirting back and forth between Cookie and Lucious, we’re met with a splash of cold water to the face when Lucious proposes that he wed Anika in an attempt to prevent her from having to testify against him in court.

Earlier in the episode, Anika nearly threw herself off of a building at the thought of having to testify against Lucious in court (which seemed to be an overly dramatic response…). And Cookie extended her hand to Anika in friendship and even told her she was officially a Lyon now. Well, yes she is, and she took your, spot Cookie!

Seeing Anika come full circle, from being the rejected mistress to the official Mrs. Lyon is a bit surreal. While it’s something that is seemingly decided in an instant, after she’s served by surprise during Hakeem’s wedding, it’s a delicious return to form for Anika’s character. Anika was at her best when she was a foil and antagonist for Cookie. But for much of the season, she’s been a punching bag for the Lyon family and she’s begged and scrapped for attention and relevance.

As Mrs. Lyon, Anika will beg no more. The question though, is how will Cookie deal? We’ll have to wait and see how things shake out in season three.

Is Jamal Gonna Die on Empire? Jussie Smollett Promises “Tears” on Tonight’s Season Finale

The Empire Season 2 finale airs tonight on Fox, and the main question everyone will be asking throughout the episode is: IS JAMAL GONNA DIE?!?

On last week’s episode, the middle Lyon brother got into a huge verbal altercation with Lucious.

After walking in on Jamal and his downlow friend D-Major, who were about to suck each other’s faces off, Lucious and Jamal were hurling insults at each other when Lucious said, “The day you die from AIDS, I’m gonna celebrate.”

Near the end of the episode, while posing for pics on the red carpet of the ASAs, Jamal takes a bullet from Freda … for LUCIOUS, of all people, and by the time the credits started rolling, we were still left wondering about Jamal’s condition. Is he going to live? Is he going to die?

Making matters even worse for inquisitive Empire viewers is the following message Jussie Smollet posted on Twitter right after last week’s episode aired on the West Coast, seemingly announcing his farewell from the show:

ET has since spoken with Jussie Smollett, and the actor didn’t offer any new insight regarding Jamal Lyon’s fate on the show.

From ET Online:

“Wednesday at 9/8 Central, only on Fox,” Smollett teasingly replied, when asked about whether Jamal bites the dust.

Hmm… sure makes you wonder! While Smollett wouldn’t give a straight answer, he understood the uproar by the show’s loyal and passionate fans.

“[Creator] Lee [Daniels] has been getting death threats of people being like, ‘If Jamal dies, you die.’ Knife emoji, knife emoji, knife emoji!” Smollett shared. “The fans are on another level, it’s incredible. But you know, we’ll have to wait and see.”

He did, however, promise an action-packed season two finale that will be a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and the payoff for Jamal’s story — however it turns out — will be worth the anticipation.

“It’s handled in a beautiful way,” Smollett promised. “I think there’s going to be tears and [there’s] also going to be a lot of happiness. So you know, it’s OK. It’s going to be great. It’s a phenomenal finale and all questions are going to be answered Wednesday at 9/8 Central, only on Fox.”

Smollett also talked about how the writers came up with that infamous “The day you die from AIDS, I’m gonna celebrate” line.

That harrowing exchange was borne from Smollett and Terrence Howard workshopping the dialogue in executive producer Sanaa Hamri’s office.

“We came up with all those horrible things because it was something that had to be said, that you just can’t come back [from] — something so hurtful,” Smollett explained. “And look what ends up happening? Your son ends up getting shot — ‘I took a bullet for you.'”

“It’s one of those instances where we’re not preaching, we’re just holding up a mirror to society and saying, ‘Is this you?’ and if it is, what about that?” he added.
