Miranda Cosgrove and Brody Jenner presented Beyonce with the award for “Best Video” at the 2009 MTV EMA last night (Thur Nov 5). And when Beyonce made her speech she said she only wanted to thank one person:
“Okay, there’s only one person I wanna thank. …. And that is Jay for putting a ring on it”
Wait, this can’t really be the first time Beyonce has publicly acknowledged her marriage to Jay-Z in the past year and a half can’t it?? Better late than never we guess but damn!
Beyonce’s music video for “Single Ladies” beat out “Waking Up In Vegas” (Katy Perry), “Circus” (Britney Spears), “We Made You” (Eminem), “She Wolf” (Shakira) in the category. Earlier in the night she performed her hit single “Sweet Dreams.”

Worlwide star Beyonce is under scrutiny by the Egyptian Muslims because of her theatrics and tour customes, and they’re saying her show is an “insolent sex party” and believe that her performing in their country will make it hard to maintain social peace and stability. Displayed throughout Cairo, Egypt are posters of Beyonc gripping a set of motorcycle bars extending from her waist and sporting a revealing flame covered outfit. This is completely opposite of anything a Muslim woman wearing a traditional head car would have on walking down the streets of the Egyptian capital.
TV ads running on Egyptian and Arab satellite stations have been promoting the show, which is a part of Beyonce’s “I Am…” world tour. And as of October, said tour has grossed nearly $54 million, according to Billboard magazine. Campaigns and social networking sites accussed the government of debauchery and fought hard for a cancellation of the show. And a facebook campaign collected over 10,000 members for banning Beyonce’s “concert nudity.”
Beyonce took to the stage to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards today in Berlin, Germany to perform her single “Sweet Dreams.” Naturally, she worked it out but we gotta admit we were expecting her to top the epic performance of “Single Ladies” she did at this year’s VMAs. This performance just felt really rushed and had very limited dancing. But she’s still Beyonce so you know she killed it anyway! We’re not saying the performance was bad, we just expected a bit more, you know?
Check it out after the break!! (Oh and make sure you come back here later today to peep she and Lady Gaga’s new “Videophone” music video)
After you are stuffed from turkey and whatever else you decide to chow down on this Thanksgiving, you can plop down on the couch while it all digests and take in Beyonce’s Thanksgiving special on ABC!
Beyonce’s new concert DVD, “I Am… Yours: An Intimate Performance At Wynn Las Vegas,” is a double disc CD/DVD compilation that was recorded earlier this year in Vegas and will be released on November 23rd. And just 3 days later (on Thanksgiving), Beyonce’s one-hour TV special on ABC will air at 9 PM. This will mark Bey’s first ever prime-time network special.
In related news, it was recently announced that Beyonce and Lady Gaga’s music video for “Video Phone” will premiere exclusively on air on MTV and online on MTV.com this Thursday (Nov 5)! It will premiere in the US on MTV and MTV.com at 5:30pm EST. MTV channels in 162 countries will also premiere the video following the MTV Europe Music Awards, which will take place the same day and where Beyonce is slated to perform.
With Beyonce busy touring the world and Jay-Z promoting his new album and DJ Hero video game, seeing the two of them together has become a rare occasion.
But the married couple dropped $1,200 on lunch (including a bottle of Dom Perignion champagne) at Nello’s restuarant on the Upper East Side of New York City Monday afternoon (Oct 26). The pair also reportedly left the server a $500 tip.

It seems that the two pop divas are preparing to end the year with a total chart domination. According to sources, Beyonce will be featured on Lady Gaga’s re-release of her hit debut album, The Fame.
The album is currently titled The Fame: Monster and coincidentally, Beyonce is featured on a track called “Telephone.” The track was written by Gaga herself and produced by Darkchild; it was originally intended for Britney Spears‘ last album “Circus” and it will serve as Gaga’s second single after the newly released “Bad Romance.”
It’s becoming clear that this is definitely a marketing ploy! First “Video Phone“ and now “Telephone?” Both parties have very smart marketing people working for them so it’s obvious that the year’s biggest artists want to end it with a bang. Smart move; very smart move!
Everything has been under wraps for a couple of weeks now, but now video director Hype Williams has confirmed that top divas Beyonce and Lady Gaga will be collaborating on Beyonce’s new “Video Phone” music video! Initial word came from a little birdie that told another little birdie in our neighborhood.
The video shoot was done in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood, but so far that’s all we know because Williams’ reps couldn’t give out any more additional information on anything. Life and Style Magazine reported that security was extremely tight, and that this video will set the fashion for this upcoming year with Beyonce displaying a “feathered dress” you already know Gaga likes taking her fashion to the extreme, so this video is guaranteed to be a hit!
Life and Style further reported that no cell phones, cameras or any other type of electronics were permitted on set. They also stated that unlike Beyonce’s original verison on her I Am… Sasha Fierce album, the new version of the song will feature a verse from Ms. Gaga. The video is also said to have a lot of choreography besides the two dancers she’s always had in her videos this era.
At this pressing time there has been no commentary from either Diva’s spokespeople. But we will definetly all be on the lookout for what will most likely be the biggest video of the year!
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME! This is the second time in Beyonce’s career that she has had to place a concert on hold in Malaysia; this time it’s because her tour costumes are “too sexy.”
Muslims in the area have raised an apparent issue of an immoral visual that is not looked highly upon. Malaysian entertainment company Marctensia stated on Monday that the concert “has been postponed to a future date to be announced shorty … The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons.”
The “Single Ladies” singer was set to take the stage in Kuala Lampur on October 25th, but that date has been pushed back to allow time for changes to be made to the singers’ tour wardrobe, which is something that should be respected. Not too many artists would compromise just ONE show for a few thousand fans, but Beyonce humbly shows respect by having designers and stylists make these wardrobe adjustments to appease the Islamic conservatives.
It’s unknown whether or not the decision was made due to criticism from the country’s largest opposition group, the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, who think the show would promote “Western sexy performances” and want the entire thing to be cancelled altogether.
But Beyonce doesn’t want to cancel the show as she had to in 2007 due to the same amount of protesting that the opposition party brought forth. She instead performed in Indonesia, where there’s also a large Muslim population, but with less restraints on how western performers should and/or should not dress. However, this time around, Beyonce’s Malaysian fanbase has her back and are hoping for the best.
R&B/pop singer Beyonce took some time out of her busy touring schedule and stopped by Studio Mouris Roppongi in Tokyo, Japan Friday afternoon (Oct 16) to host a meet and greet for the Samantha Thavasa handbag collection.
Beyonce is currently on tour and performed 5 dates in Japan. She’ll be taking the stage in Seoul, South Korea tomorrow (Oct 20) and also on Wednesday (Oct 21) before she makes her way to China to perform in Beijing on Friday (Oct 23). After she leaves Asia, she’ll be heading to the Middle East to perform in UAE, then she’s got shows Russia, Egypt and Greece. And she’ll wrap up the tour in November when she hits Europe and performs in the UK.
