Disturbing Photos & Video Footage Show Mike Brown’s Body Lying in the Street

Images showing the moments immediately after the senseless shooting of unarmed black teenager Michael Brown have been passed around on social media, and they are very disturbing to say the least.

19-year-old Michael “Mike” Brown was unarmed when he was shot several times by officer Darren Wilson in the middle of a street in Ferguson, Missouri, a predominately black suburb with a population of about 21,000 outside St. Louis.

An aspiring rapper from the small town who goes by the name “Thee Pharoah” was home last Saturday afternoon when he looked out the window and saw a cop shoot the young man to death.

Pharoah immediately took to social media and proceeded to live tweet the shooting and its terrible aftermath

One of his tweets included a graphic photo of Brown’s lifeless body lying in the street with an officer standing over him, and it wasn’t long before the young man’s name “Mike Brown” ended up on the worldwide trending topics list on Twitter.

According to Thee Pharoah’s timeline of the shooting, the first bullets struck the 18-year-old just after 12 noon local time Saturday.

He tweeted that he heard a total of seven shots, two of which were fired at Brown’s back and the other five came as a “barrage” after the teen turned around.

Asked by a user why the officer shot the man, Pharoah replied that there was “no reason” and the young man was “running” as he was shot in cold blood.

Several hours after the shooting, Pharoah tweeted that Michael Brown’s body was still lying in the street.

The following Sunday, Thee Pharoah said that he would no longer be tweeting about the shooting, and since his newfound fame (his tweets have been picked up by a number of huge sites, including Mashable, The Verge, GawkerThe Telegraph, The Los Angeles Times, etc.), his friends have been advising him to hire a lawyer and “lay low.”

Since the shooting, Pharoah has been writing about the protests in Ferguson and all over the country, while also re-tweeting news items about the incident and its consequences.

On Thursday, he told reporters to refrain from asking him questions about what he witnessed, tweeting, “I will tell you I know nothing.”

Over the weekend, CNN aired startling video captured near the scene of the shooting that shows Brown lying dead in the street as a crowd of people — including his own family, reportedly — look on.

“That’s fucked up man… It’s too early in the day,” a man off camera is heard saying. He’s then heard describing what happened to another person off camera.

“Police killed the dude. They said he had his hands up and everything,” he said. “They still shot him; he fell on the ground, they stood over him and shot him some more. They’ve just got him laying in the street dead as a motherfucker.”

Terrible.

J. Cole Visits Mike Brown Protests in Ferguson After Releasing “Be Free” Tribute Song

J. Cole released a tribute song in honor of Michael Brown titled “Be Free” last week, and on Sunday (Aug 17), the rapper paid a visit to Ferguson, Missouri to pay his respects to the teen who was shot and killed by a police officer last Saturday.

Accompanied by members of his Dreamville label, Cole stopped by the scene where Brown was killed and spoke to protestors and activists about the civil unrest taking place in the St. Louis suburb.

He also made other stops in the neighborhood, including a visit to the QuickTrip gas station that has been referred to as “ground zero,” where protestors and police have battled, and is not too far from where Brown was gunned down.

Photos and Instagram videos of Cole’s appearance were captured by residents on the scene as he interacted with them and community leaders.

On “Be Free,” released last Friday (Aug 15), J. Cole skipped the rapping, opting instead for “haunting and heartbreaking singing over a piano,” MTV News noted.

The song also includes audio of Michael Brown’s friend Dorian Johnson, who was with him at the time of the shooting, recounting the events that led to his friend’s death.

Days before the song’s release, J. Cole tweeted:

“American Idol” Alum Josh Gracin Checks Into Facility After Writing Suicide Note

“American Idol” Season 2 finalist Josh Gracin has reportedly voluntarily checked himself into a mental health facility and is being held on a 5150 psychiatric hold after posting what appeared to be a suicide note on Facebook in the wake of marital issues.

TMZ reported last Thursday (Aug 14) that Gracin “had neighbors and police racing to his door” for a welfare check at his home in Tennessee after a family member saw a dark and foreboding Facebook message:

“I’ve loved her for 17 years … I made mistakes … I admitted them, told her the truth and she turned her back on me when I needed her help the most.”

He continued, “Please remember me as someone who gave his all in his music … Pray for my family as they carry on in this world without me. Goodbye.”

When cops arrived at Gracin’s home, they found his wife and children, but no Gracin. The “American Idol” alum was later pulled over on his way back home, and it was then that he decided to drive himself to a hospital with a police escort.

Later that night, Gracin’s manager took to Facebook and Twitter to let his followers know that he was alive and “safe and with his family now.” She also thanked everyone for their “prayers and concern” and asked that they respect his family’s privacy.

The statement was later amended to add:

“As many of you know, Josh Gracin has been battling depression and as a result found himself in a personal crisis [Thursday]. Thanks to the outpouring of concern from family, friends, fans and the police, Josh was admitted to the hospital for observation … With family by his side, Josh has since been discharged from the hospital and has voluntarily checked himself into an inpatient facility to seek the help he needs.”

33-year-old Gracin also gave his own statement:

“I want to thank you all for your prayers and support. I take responsibility for my actions and apologize dearly for what I have put my family through. With the help of my family and friends, I am getting help … Again, thank you for your love and I will see you very soon.”

Josh Gracin finished in fourth place on American Idol’s second season back in 2003 when Ruben Studdard was the winner. After losing AI, Gracin completed his service in the Marine Corps before signing a deal with Lyric Street Records and releasing three studio albums.

Kevin Hart, Dave Franco Star in Hilariously Weird Madden ’15 Commercial

EA Sports released a brand new commercial for Madden NFL 15 today called “Madden Season,” and if we could describe the whole thing in one world, that one word would be INSANE.

The ad stars Kevin Hart and Dave Franco who have a pretty intense Madden rivalry with each other. Hart shows up to Franco’s doorstep and slaps him right in the face and later trashes his car (among other things), all in the name of “Madden Season.”

When the two finally meet up to play, Franco gets so into the game that he doesn’t even care that his house is on fire. “Let is buuuurrrn!!” he shouts.

Look out for appearances from Colin Kaepernick, Dez Bryant, LeSean McCoy, Eddie Lacy, a weird Ke$ha look alike, the video game version of Richard Sherman, as well as the DJ with a bear head that rises out of the pool full of dolphins. (Remember how we told you this commercial was insane?)

Madden NFL 15 is due out on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on August 26th in North America and the 29th in Europe.

Ferguson Police Name Darren Wilson as Cop Who Shot Michael Brown

The Ferguson, Missouri Police Department has finally released the name of the officer who shot and killed unarmed 18-year-old Michael “Mike” Brown last Saturday (Aug 9).

Earlier this week, the Ferguson Police Department announced they wouldn’t be releasing the name of the cop who gunned down Mike Brown because at the time “the value of releasing the name is far outweighed by the risk of harm to the officer and his family,” according to Ferguson police chief Thomas Jackson.

But after a week of protests, rising tensions and debates on social media, Ferguson officials changed their minds and have now identified Michael Brown’s killer.

Chief Jackson said the officer was Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran of the force who had no disciplinary action on his record.

No other information about the officer has been disclosed, and the FBI and Department of Justice haven’t released any information either regarding their own respective investigations into Brown’s death.

Ferguson police also confirmed reports that the teenager was believed to have been involved in a robbery at a nearby convenience store prior to the shooting.

From the NY Times:

Chief Jackson said that Officer Wilson had been alerted to the robbery shortly before the encounter with the teenager, Michael Brown, 18, who was walking home from a store on Saturday when he was shot.

The Ferguson police released security camera video after the news conference that showed a confrontation inside the store about 15 minutes before Saturday’s shooting. The images show a man, identified by the police as Mr. Brown, who appears to be pushing a store clerk.

The police said that Mr. Brown, who was in the store with a friend, had stolen a box of Swisher Sweets cigars. When confronted by the clerk, Mr. Brown “forcefully pushed him back into a display rack” before leaving, a police report said.

But Benjamin L. Crump, a lawyer for the Brown family, said that “Nothing, based on the facts before us, justifies the execution-style murder by this police officer in broad daylight.”?

“The police are playing games here and the parents are beyond incensed with the way that the police are handling the distribution of information,” Mr. Crump said. “The police are not being transparent and they are strategically trying to justify this execution-style murder.”?

Brown’s death had sparked several days of protests that were quashed by police officers shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at groups of demonstrators.

Early Friday (Aug 15), Chief Jackson said authorities believed it was an appropriate time to release the name of the officer who shot Michael Brown to death.

“A lot of the stakeholders had a big meeting conversation yesterday, and then yesterday evening,” Chief Jackson told a St. Louis TV station, “and we made the determination that today is the day.”

“Nothing specific went into that decision, but we feel that there’s a certain calm,” he said. “There’s a huge outcry from the community.”

Tia Mowry-Hardrict Slams Internet Trolls for Criticizing Her Son Cree’s Hairstyle

Social media is known to be a place where personal opinions are expressed about news and current events, the media, celebrities, etc. And while most people with good sense know not to target children (regardless of how rich/famous their parents are or aren’t) … some folks just don’t care.

A couple months back, Beyoncé and Jay Z’s 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy ended up in the crosshairs of Internet trolls who kept making comments about her hair. Things got so bad that a petition was created, and bloggers were forced to respond with diatribes about Blue Ivy’s hair and “why it matters.”

The latest celebrity to have to deal with the comments from Internet bullies is Tia Mowry-Hardrict, who posted a few photos on Instagram of herself and her son Cree spending time together.

The photos show the adorable 3-year-old wearing a topknot and a small bun in the back of his head. Cree’s hair is naturally curly, so to keep it tamed for the outing, Tia tried a new style.

But people who follow Tia’s account didn’t think the hairstyle was appropriate for a little boy, but instead, a girl and they let it be known in the comments. The debate went on for a while, and the “Instant Mom” star eventually responded with a whole new post:

She wrote in the caption:

I am proud to have a SON that embraces his natural hair :). Hair length does not define your sex. Last I checked a pen*s and a vag*na does. Pick up a book, educate yourself, and embrace cultures outside of your own and maybe you will see that there are PLENTY of MEN wearing top knots and MEN with long hair. Here’s a shout out to all the moms who have boys and girls with natural hair! Live ON!

Sadly, this isn’t the first time the actress has had to deal with responding to people for making comments about her son.

In 2012 when Internet trolls criticized her then 1-year-old son’s looks, she said, “I really don’t understand why people feel the need to belittle a child, someone who doesn’t even have a voice yet to express themselves. I just think it’s disgusting—disgusting that we live in a society that focuses on looks.”

Baby North West Makes Her Modeling Debut in Adorable Photo

How long can one hold out the word “awwwwwwwwwwww” before it gets too long and annoying? Because … AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! LOOK AT BABY NORTH WEST!!!!!!

The 13-month-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West recently made her official modeling debut in the fall issue of the CR Fashion Book, the same publication that featured Kim last year in a photoshoot while she was pregnant with North.

Last year’s photoshoot of Kim showed the reality star in a gold grill and one of Kanye’s infamous face masks, and she also flaunted her baby bump. But this year is all about Baby Nori, who, in a black-and-white photo, can be seen looking adorable as ever, rocking a Chanel brooch and bag with Lorraine Schwartz diamond studs in her ears.

North was styled by CR Fashion Book found and editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld and her outfit likely costs more than rent for most people.

While this may be North West’s solo modeling debut, this isn’t her first photo shoot. As you’ll remember, she was also featured in the March issue of Vogue magazine along with her famous parents, so this is nowhere near new territory for her.

“Every time there is a camera out and paparazzi and they’re taking pictures…she does this like either like a mean ‘angry Kanye face’ or a pose, I can’t tell what it is,” Kim said Tuesday during an appearance on the TODAY show with Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. “She’ll be cracking up and then the second the camera comes on, she’s like [doing that pose].”

Robin Williams’ Wife Says Actor Was Battling Parkinson’s Disease

Robin Williams was secretly battling Parkinson’s disease at the time of his death.

The actor/comedian’s wife Susan Schneider revealed in a statement Thursday afternoon (Aug 14) that he was in the early stages of the disease.

In the full statement (below), Schneider also said that Williams had not relapsed from his sobriety, but was struggling with depression and anxiety, as well as the early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which she noted, “he was not yet ready to share publicly.”

“Robin spent so much of his life helping others. Whether he was entertaining millions on stage, film or television, our troops on the frontlines, or comforting a sick child — Robin wanted us to laugh and to feel less afraid.

“Since his passing, all of us who loved Robin have found some solace in the tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched. His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles.

“Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly.

“It is our hope in the wake of Robin’s tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid.”

Robin Williams died Monday after committing suicide by hanging, investigators confirmed Wednesday. He was 63 years old.

“I’m sorry moms. I didn’t tell her about the picture that I was using for the album cover,” he said. “I don’t think she’s going to be upset but I know personally that she don’t really like that picture of herself ’cause she’s not looking in the camera.”

Tyga Dumped His Fiancée Blac Chyna, But She Doesn’t Know It Yet

Tyga is officially a free man!

The “Rack City” rapper has reportedly called it quits with his fiancée/baby mama Blac Chyna.

Tyga and Blac Chyna have been together since 2011. The couple got engaged in 2012 and welcomed their son King Cairo in October.

There’s no official details on the reason for the break-up, but according to TMZ, Chyna isn’t taking it seriously.

Chyna isn’t acknowledging the breakup — she’s in denial — and some of her stuff is still at the house.

We’re told Tyga hosted two pool parties at their home in the last few weeks (including one for Kylie Jenner’s birthday) but she wasn’t invited to either.

Maybe he hasn’t sat her down and had “the talk” with her in person yet? Girls don’t usually accept break-ups over text/email. Just a thought.

No, Chris Brown Did Not Join the Eat A Booty Gang

Is Chris Brown the newest member of the Eat A Booty Gang?

Trick Daddy and rap newcomer Kevin Gates have both publicly made it known that they pleasure women by eating the booty … and this past weekend Chris posted a very NSFW picture of him licking a woman’s butt, or “Eat[ing] the booty,” as he described it in the caption.

Chris also wrote the hashtag “#idgt” in the caption, which stands for Kevin Gates’ famous catchphrase “I don’t get tired.”

But hold off on giving Breezy his welcome papers for the Eat A Booty Gang because the pic he Instagrammed is actually a screenshot from the video for his 2010 single “No Bullsh*t,” specifically at the 3-minute mark.

So no, Chris Brown did not join the Eat A Booty Gang. Sorry ladies. #SadFace

Chris deleted the pic not too long after posting it, but because the Internet is a place where things never go away, you can check it out here:

After Kim and Kanye found out that the paparazzi could shoot right across the street, the couple decided not to buy that house — Kanye HATES the paparazzi — but before that, Kim shot a scene for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” in which she gives her grandmother a tour of the original home while it was under construction. The episode aired this past Sunday night (Aug 10).

“I’m hoping so,” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star revealed. “You know I kind of wish I was pregnant at the same time Kourtney is. She’s like more than half way in, so you know, we’re trying.”

Kim added that she thinks it would be “fun” for all the sisters to be pregnant at the same time. “There’s a lot of craziness in the house, so why not add pregnancy hormones to the craziness?” Kim said, smiling. “It would be like a partner in crime. Someone to know those cravings that you’re really going through.”

The video is inspired from the 1975 film “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.”

“This is the first video from Carter V,”  Weezy told MTV News. “It’s not about anyone being crazy, although I guess some people think the things I do are crazy. I thought the idea of being in a strait-jacket would work for this song, so that’s what we did.”

“Krazy” is the second single off Tunechi’s upcoming album Tha Carter V.

Investigators: Robin Williams’ Death Ruled Suicide by Hanging

Robin Williams‘ cause of death has been revealed. Investigators in California said today that the Oscar Award-winning actor’s death was a suicide by hanging.

According to reports, the beloved comedian was found unconscious in his home Monday morning (Aug 11). He was reportedly clothed and slightly suspended in a seated position with a leather belt wrapped around his neck, with one end sandwiched in between a closet door and the door frame.

Lt. Keith Boyd, assistant chief deputy coroner for Marin County, CA said at a news conference that Williams was cold to the touch by the time he was found and rigor mortis had already set in, meaning that the actor had been dead for several hours.

Williams’ personal assistant found his body after breaking into his room Monday morning when he didn’t respond to her knocks. She sounded distraught in the 911 call and indicated Williams’ death was a suicide by hanging.

Williams’ wife Susan Schneider last saw him alive at about 10:30 p.m. the night before. She left the house 12 hours later thinking he was asleep in his room.

Lt. Boyd said investigators found some superficial cuts were found inside Williams’ left wrist and a pocket knife nearby, which means that he likely tried slitting his wrists before hanging himself.

“The preliminary, and I again say preliminary, result of the forensic examination reveals supporting signs that Mr. Williams’ life ended from asphyxia due to hanging,” Boyd said.

Boyd wouldn’t say whether or not a suicide note was found, nor would he discuss any medications, but he did say toxicology reports wouldn’t be available for several weeks and he did note that Williams had recently sought treatment for depression.

Robin Williams was 63 years old.
