Miley Cyrus is not the biggest fan of her country roots, and she is definitely not a fan of her dad Billy Ray Cyrus‘ country music, even though back in 1992, Cyrus’ hit single “Achy Breaky Heart” was a chart hit around the world. But why does the former “Hannah Montana” star hate the country genre?
She tells Parade, “It scares me… It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it’s not going to sell. I think that’s why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all.”
So that’s two genres we know do not exist on Miley’s iPod. The first? Pop.
