As expected, Ms. Whitney Houston soared to the top of the Billboard 200 this week with her new album, I Look To You. With very little promotion and no music video, the album sold a very impressive 305k copies. This is Whitney’s best opening week sales since the Nielsen SoundScan began in 1991.
We expect that these numbers will go even higher in no time. With her tell-all interview with Oprah airing next week on September 14th and 15th and two new music videos on the way (“I Look To You” premieres this week and “Million Dollar Bill” premieres next week) we’re sure the album will soon go platinum.
In other Billboard chars news, Trey Songz‘s newest album Ready debuted at #3 with 131k sold and Miley Cyrus‘ EP The Time Of Our Lives debuted at #2 with 153k sold.
