Though it hasn’t been confirmed by neither her nor MTV, it’s being rumored that Beyonce will be performing at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Her backup dancer Ashley Everett, who can be seen in all the Sasha Fierce videos this era, broke the news through her twitter that Beyonce will be performing:

Lady Gaga and Bey’s husband Jay-Z are also expected to perform at the live event on Sunday, September 13th at 9 PM.
Now that Leona Lewis has been certified a superstar, it is time for another “X-Factor” champ to shine! Alexandra Burke is the latest champ from Britian’s hit talent competition series, “The X-Factor,” and will be dropping a single very soon. Alexandra won her way into the hearts of Simon Cowell and hundreds of fans when she entered the competition and only gained more as time went on. During the finals of the show, she performed “Listen,” the hit song from Dreamgirls, with her favorite artist, Beyonce. Throughout the show, she made it known that Beyonce was one of her heroes and when the two singers met, Beyonce took a liking to her and offered her tips and coaching.
After winning the show, Alex headed to the U.S. to start on her debut album. She met and worked with the likes of Phantom Boyz, Akon, Pharrell, Red One, Stargate, and even Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z. The power couple met up with Alex many times to offer her help on her debut album. Beyonce even offered Alex a chance to open for her during her “I Am…” tour but due to scheduling conflicts, the match never happened.
Now, Alexandra is finally ready to show the world what she’s got. She recently signed a”six-figure deal” with Dolce & Gabbana and she also announced that her upcoming single will be titled “Bad Boys” and will feature rapper Flo Rida. Promotion for the singer has begun and two new very “Sasha Fierce” looking promo pictures for her new project have surfaced (see above).
Hopefully, Alexandra can see the same success as her predecessor Leona Lewis. But of course, only time will tell. We are wishing her the best of luck and will keep you updated once her single drops this Tuesday, August 25th.

Socialite turned TV personality Kourtney Kardashian says that her pregnancy, which she is five months into, is a “bittersweet” experience due to the fact that her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, isn’t here to experience the joy with his family. She also revealed that “almost” doesn’t want to get married because he won’t be here to give her away at the altar:
“I wish my dad was here, but I know that he is here with us [in spirit], and I feel like this is definitely a blessing from him,” Kourtney, 30, tells PEOPLE of her father, who passed away at age 59 in 2003 after being diagnosed with esophageal cancer. “I would love for him to be here and experience this all. I feel like he would be so happy.”
Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner – who divorced Robert in 1989 and subsequently married former Olympian Bruce Jenner – has also gotten emotional about his absence. “My mom was crying, like, ‘Your dad would be so happy.’ And you know, I feel like it’s cool, because I feel like he’s here.” In fact, Kardashian says, “It’s bittersweet, and that’s how I feel about getting married, too. I almost don’t want to get married because I don’t want him to not be there.”
The man doing his job to protect Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z while the couple were spending some quality time together in Croatia last week will walk free of charges.
The charges originally brought against Julius the bodyguard were officially thrown out in court last week, meaning there will be no jail time for the big bodyguard, who had assaulted paparazzi and destroyed some of their personal property, including throwing one camera man’s tripod into the sea only after the same camera man threw it at him as his back was turned.
The bodyguard will reportedly be fined an undisclosed sum for the damaged equipment and police will not pursue further legal action.
Previous X-Factor winner Leona Lewis will release her sophomore album Echo on November 17th. The singer’s debut album Spirit was released in 2008 and has now gone multi-platinum.
“An echo describes a big, organic sound,” Lewis says of her choice. “I’m working with incredible songwriters and producers, and my music has really evolved.”

UPDATE: The man authorities arrested at an airport in Toronto, Canada was NOT Ryan Jenkins. As of right now, Jenkins is still on the loose…
TMZ is reporting that Ryan Jenkins, a former contestant on VH1’s “Megan Wants a Millionaire” reality series, was arrested at an airport in Toronto, Canada. Jenkins was charged with the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore Thursday (Aug 20), which is 5 days after the super model’s mutilated body was found stuffed into a briefcase.
According to reports, Jenkins strangled and beat Flore before stuffing her naked body into a suitcase and placing it inside a dumpster in the Buena Park area of Southern California on the morning of August 15th 2009. Police also say her teeth and fingers had been removed in an obvious effort to evade investigators attempting to identify the remains. Investigators ended up identifying Fiore, who was last seen alive with Jenkins in San Diego, by using the serial numbers from her breast implants.
Ryan and Jasmine checked into the Lauberge Del Mar hotel last Friday night (Aug 14). Investigators say Jenkins left the hotel that following Saturday morning (Aug 15) with a grey suitcase, and later that day Ryan Jenkins reported her missing. Fiore hasn’t been seen alive since.
Upon hearing the news, VH1 halted all future airings of Megan Hauserman’s show, “Megan Wants a Millionaire,” where 32-year-old Ryan Jenkins was originally a contestant and supposed overall winner of the show, though VH1 hasn’t yet confirmed who actually won. But there are rumors floating around saying Ryan told his friends he won $250,000 after being chosen as the winner. So VH1 decided it’d be best to pull the plug on the show as it would put them in a very bad position to continue to air it in light of the charges recently brought against him. They’ve even removed the show completely from VH1.com.
R&B singer Omarion is hitting out at rumors claiming he was “dropped” from Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment for leaking a song [ I Get It In ]. He says he asked to be released from his contract. He took to his Twitter Thursday (Aug 20) to tell his side of the story.

Actor/singer Tyrese Gibson is a free man as his divorce settlement from wife Norma Gibson has been finalized. The Mayhem! comic book creator was granted joint custody of his two year old daughter Shayla in the agreement, folowing a long battle with now ex wife Norma Mitchell Gibson. He’s required to pay $6,230 a month in child support and he gets to keep his Temecula, CA home. Both Tyrese and and Norma have split up other assets.
The couple had been married since November 2007 and in January of 2009, Tyrese filed for divorce in January 2009, citing irreconcilable differences following a mere 10 months of marriage.
Both Norma and Tyrese signed a prenuptial agreement, which stated that if the two were ever to divorce, Norma wouldn’t ever get a piece of Tyrese’s possessions. The only thing she would get is a lump sump of $50,000 for every year they were married, for up to 10 years. Only thing is, the couple would have to had made it to a year, but Tyrese filed for divorce 10 months after they said their “I Do’s.” So in other words, besides the mandatory $6,000/mo child support, she can’t get anything unless Tyrese gives it to her.
Our next music act for our YouTube Friday feature is The Shures! The group consists of three members: Ashley Burns, 23, from West Virginia, Gabriel Cabrera, 24, from Sydney, Australia, and Chris Kennedy, 22, from Milton Keynes, UK. For a group with a pretty good blend of “close-knit” harmonies, you would never believe that all three members have never met each other in person, though they hope to one day.
The trio met over two years ago on a music networking site and fell in love with each other’s voices. The group formed when group member Ashley brought up the idea of creating an online album to her two friends and from there, the online band concept was born. They entered an online competition but when they needed to enter a name, they noticed they were nameless. Gabriel Cabrera came up with “The Shures” and they decided all to run with it.

Dressed up like a pants-less vampire, Stefani Germanotta, best known to us as Lady Gaga, brought out the fangs (and her butt cheeks) as she arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport in the UK early Thursday (Aug 20).
Having just wrapped up a concert in Israel, the pop star will be performing for the UK’s V Festival Saturday and Sunday before heading back to NYC in a couple of weeks to do the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. In addition, her co-headlining tour with Kanye West kicks off in Buffalo, NY on October 4th and is expected to run through mid-December.

R&B songstress Mary J. Blige premiered her new music video for “Stronger,” a song from the Lebron James Nike documentary “More Than a Game.” The documentary follows Lebron James and his childhood friends from grade school to playing at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio to being drafted in the NBA. Directed by Kristopher Belman, the film is set to be released to select theaters on October 2nd.

Beyonce‘s tour manager Marlon Beyince, who just so happens to be her cousin as well, took to his Twitter page yesterday and came at Rihanna (the “i” comes BEFORE the h, Mr. Beyince), claiming she can’t sing and that she is Def Jam’s version of Cassie. He posted:

In related news, Kourtney told People that she thought about terminating her pregnancy, but weighed out the options and obviously decided to keep the baby.

Situation: What would you do if you wrote a book that was over 96 pages long and before it hit shelves, you spent many sleepless nights hunched over a keyboard typing your thoughts down only for it to be paraphrased into a blog post 2 years later by an old washed up soon to be ex-wife of an R&B star? Just ask Aisha Curry, the author of “She’s Pretty for a Black Girl.” Notice how the title of Maneka’s blog entry and Curry’s author are strikingly similar?

All the hard work, all the sleepless nights I had endured was playing back in my head as I read this article written by a woman I didn’t even know,” Curry told BV Buzz. “Why did I feel so connected to this article? Curry said she began writing ‘Pretty For a Black Girl’ in 2007 after receiving compliments about her beauty, only to have them followed up with a reference to her ethnicity.
“One day about five years ago, I was absolutely tired of being told that I was pretty for a black girl,” she explained. “I started asking my friends if they had heard this statement before, and as time went on, I realized how prevalent the issue was.”
It looks like Ciara has ditched her short wig and is going back to rocking the long hair. Paps spotted her and her dog out in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon (Aug 20) doing some shopping at Intermix in West Hollywood. We’re glad to see the old “CiCi” is back! We were on the fence about that wig. Sometimes, she killed it. Other times? Not so much. It just didn’t work out too well for her, so we’re glad she realized that.
It was recently announced that the R&B/pop singer had been replaced by Jordin Sparks as the opening act for Britney Spears’ tour. Her people put out a short statement recently confirming the news, but they’re still not saying why she was replaced:

We don’t have any new pictures of Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush out and about together (yet) but multiple reports of the two spending time together are surfacing regularly now. The two were recently spotted Monday (Aug 16) at a restaurant in New Orleans and were “all smiles” as they walked into the establishment together:

The View’s Sherri Shepherd is showing off her new bod on the cover of the latest issue of OK! Weekly. In the magazine, the talk show co-host reveals how she lost 41 pounds the old fashion way: diet and exercise.
She publicly stated on The View that she would be going on a diet and working with a personal trainer to knock off the weight she gained back after losing it the year before, upping the ante with promises of appearing on the live show in a bathing suit. Ms. Shepherd definitely kept her promise and now she’s telling her story!
“I lost weight last year and started gaining it back because I wasn’t exercising,” Sherri explains in the new issue of OK!. “I said to my producer, ‘Why don’t we do something where I tell people ‘Let’s do it together!’ and maybe [up the ante with] a bathing suit. The minute I said that, I was like, ‘Gosh, I should take it back because I really want M&M’s!’ But I had to do it. Then all of sudden I had all these people doing it with me. I’d Tweet about going to the gym and how hard it was, and followers would write and say, ‘Sherri, I’ve lost two pounds!’ I thought, ‘Okay, people are getting into this.'”
An investigation has been launched in Croatia following an altercation between Beyonce‘s bodyguard Julius and local paparazzi. Officials have charged the handler with assault and destruction of property after he got into with the photographers/cameramen on the scene trying to get shots of Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z as they vacationed in Croatia. Footage of the incident was posted to YouTube (check it here).
Footage of the incident shows the bodyguard, named only as Julius, wrestling with snappers in an alleyway as the couple leaves a restaurant. Jay-Z is heard calling after him, “Let’s go, let’s go, don’t worry about it” and “stop stop stop”. The tape then cuts to a scene as the pair and their entourage are boarding a boat. One of the snappers is seen throwing a piece of camera equipment at Julius, which he then tosses into the sea.
At a news conference held in Dubrovnik on Thursday (20Aug09), three photographers alleged Julius made threats, physically attacked them and damaged their property in an incident not seen on the short video. Police spokesperson Marija Genero has now confirmed the local authorities are investigating the claims.
