Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are engaged!
The happy couple—who have been dating for a little over two years—announced the news on their respective Instagram accounts Saturday evening (Mar. 9) with the same sunset photo of their hands showing off J.Lo’s massive engagement ring.
Lopez captioned her photo with a series of heart emojis, while Rodriguez wrote in the caption of his photo “she said yes” followed by a heart emoji.
Judging by the latest photos on their Instagram pages, J.Lo and A-Rod are currently on a #baecation and enjoying some well-deserved R&R.
Earlier in the day on Saturday, A-Rod posted a quote on his Instagram Story defining a soulmate.
“A soulmate isn’t someone who completes you. No, a soulmate is someone who inspires you to complete yourself. A soulmate is someone who loves you with so much conviction, and so much heart, that it is nearly impossible to doubt just how capable you are of becoming exactly who you have always wanted to be,” the quote read.
While this will be Alex Rodriguez’s second marriage, this will marriage number four for Jennifer Lopez.
As for Lopez, she was previously married to Ojani Noa (1997-1998), Cris Judd (2001-2003) and Marc Anthony (2004-2014), the latter of whom she shares 11-year-old twins Max and Emme with.
Despite going through three divorces, Lopez told Harper’s Bazaar magazine in March 2018 that she was open to walking down the aisle again, just not anytime soon.
“I do believe in marriage,” she told the magazine. “And I would love to grow old with somebody in a committed relationship. But I’m not forcing anything right now.”
Of her relationship with the former New York Yankees star, she said: “It’s good, it’s healthy; we communicate well. We understand each other’s lives in a way that most other people couldn’t.”
