Snoop Dogg is going to become the first living rapper ever to be immortalized in wax for Madame Tussauds famous wax museum. He’ll be the third rapper on display at the museum in Los Angeles, and his figure will be unveiled sometime Monday, April 20th. The figure will stand in the “On Stage” area and he’ll be the third rap icon on display, joining the likes of the late Tupac Shakur. The statue reportedly will be worth $300,000 and he’ll be rocking his trademark cornrows.
“Fa shizzle dizzle I said yes when asked,” the rapper tells PEOPLE. “I’m honored! The D O double G got a double. It’s real to be immortalized [in wax] in the ranks with President Barack Obama,” he said.
“He was on high demand at our museums” says Roxanne Holland of Madame Tussauds. “When we asked guests who they wanted to see next, Snoop was at the top of the list.”
“When our team from London met with Snoop in Hollywood, he gave us about two hours and we took nearly 200 measurements – matched eye, skin and hair coloring,” says Holland. “He gave our sculptors the chance to experience his personality and nuances. He was an absolute joy!”
