He’s considered a rock and roll music legend and has probably done a lot of things in his lifetime. But one thing Mick Jagger has never had a chance to do in his ENTIRE music career …. is perform at the Grammy Awards.
Even though the Grammys are considered the biggest night in music, the 67-year-old Rolling Stones frontman will perform at the show for the very first time in his career at this month’s ceremony in Los Angeles.
Grammy organizers revealed yesterday that the 67-year-old legend will perform solo as a part of the show’s annual tribute to musicians who have recently passed on. Mick Jagger, joined by soul singer Raphael Saadiq and his band, will honor gospel and blues singer Solomon Burke.
“We’re thrilled, delighted, excited and very much looking forward to Mick doing his debut on the Grammy stage,” said Neil Portnow, the president and chief executive of the Recording Academy. “It’s extraordinary to many of us that the fact is, this will be the first time; he has never performed on the Grammy stage.” (Source)
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13th and will air live on CBS at 8pm.
