Actor Jason Bateman, who stars alongside Jennifer Aniston in the new movie “The Switch” (and kissed Dustin Hoffman on the lips at a basketball game back in June) doesn’t think that men and women can have healthy platonic relationships.
In a recent interview, the 41-year-old actor tried to prove his theory by using his promiscuous male friends as an example:
“It’s a horrible generalization, but a lot of the guys that I’ve met will sleep with pretty much any girl they meet. And if you’re actually good friends with that girl, too, well, that’s a home run. How can you resist that? I feel a guy and a girl can remain best friends and not have something happen, as long as one of them is in a relationship. As soon as both are single, you just kind of start the clock running …”
What do you think? Is it possible for men and women to have healthy “friendships” without sex?
