Mariah Re-hires Former Publicist and Pushes Back “Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel” … Again!

Mariah Carey has re-hired her former PR representative Cindi Berger for her new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Berger was the reason for Carey’s hit album Emancipation of Mimi becoming the big success it was; but then she went on to be fired in 2004. Now, it looks as if she’s back and ready to make “Memoirs” a hit. They have started by claiming that “Obsessed” was not in fact Maria’s first single, but only a “summer trifle [that] was a lot of fun.” Reports are stating that the official first single will be a powerhouse ballad along the lines of “Vision of Love”.

In other MC news, her album has been pushed back once more to September 29th and her newly re-hired publicist Cindi Berger has been quick to release a statement about it:

“Record release dates change all the time. It’s nothing unusual and it doesn’t signal anything. There are a lot of moving parts to Mariah’s professional life… She’s making sure the record is how she wants it to be and it’s no big deal.”

It’s pretty clear that they are forgetting about meeting deadlines, performances, etc. to take their time on the album. The album was first supposed to hit stores August 25th, six days before the Grammy deadline. Now, it is being released more than a month later. We’re rooting for Mariah and hopefully she can prove she’s still got it once the “official” first single is released.

Michael Vick Blogs for Forgiveness: “I’m sorry. That’s the place where I need to begin…”

Michael Vick once had a contract with the Atlanta Falcons worth over $100 million making him one of the highest paid football players in the NFL. But that was all snatched away, along with 2 years of his life due to jail time, when he was indicted on dog fight charges back in 2007.

Now, Vick has been released from prison and given a second chance with the NFL by the Philadelphia Eagles. In a blog posted exclusively to Global Grind, the remorseful NFL player admits that he’s never written a blog before, though it’s a challenge he must face in order to let millions of people know that he is truly sorry.

I’m sorry. That’s the place where I need to begin. My feeling of remorse. I ain’t never written a blog before, so putting my thoughts down on paper is a challenge – however it’s a challenge I must face. I can look a 250 pound linebacker in his eyes at the line of scrimmage and have no fear. But expressing myself when I know that there are millions of people who are so angry with me, and rightfully so, is a challenge unlike any other I have faced before.

What I did was horrendous. Awful. Inhumane. And I’ve no excuses for my actions. It makes my heart hurt now to think about what I’ve done. And I’m gonna be real honest, it took a while for me to get to this place.

Sean Kingston on Chris Brown: “People make mistakes. Let it go…”

Reggae fusion singer Sean Kingston has spoken out about how he feels about this whole “everybody hates Chris” scenario. He believes that his friend deserves another chance, according to a recenter interview with Rap-Up Magazine.

“At the end of the day, he’s human. People make mistakes. Let it go,” Kingston tells Rap-Up.com, before adding that the public shouldn’t jump to any conclusions. “I don’t [believe] in somebody beating a woman, but we don’t know what happened in that car. All I’m gonna say is let the man be him.”

The 19-year-old met Brown when he toured with him in 2007. “He’s a great person. He’s cool.” After seeing his former tourmate’s video apology last month, Kingston is convinced he’s sincere. “He sent the apology out. I could tell it came from his heart, so they should give him another chance.”

Sean Kingston is writing for Brown’s ex-girlfriend Rihanna’s new album and promoting his sophomore effort Tomorrow, in stores September 22.

[VIDEO] Drake Says He “Forgot” He was Injured Before He Collapsed in New Jersey

Up and coming rapper Drake says he was so excited when he performed in Camden, NJ that he completely forgot he was injured. He explained to MTV that the adrenaline rush from the crowd led him to get carried away, which subsequently led to him collapsing after he ran across the stage.

“What the footage doesn’t show is that I actually came out of the sky that night,” he told MTV News. “I was 20 feet in the air on a little platform. Philadelphia was the only sold-out show on the tour — 25,000 people. And before they see me, I see them for about five seconds. I was staring out into the crowd and I literally … when I landed on that platform, I blacked out and really forgot I was injured. I was just so full of adrenaline, so happy to be there, it kind of set in for me. I remember on the I Am Music tour, the reaction was great. But these were my songs. These are songs people know and love and we really made this happen in a short time. I was just enjoying myself. I had the mic and I was really going. And when ‘Best I Ever Had’ came on, I felt like dancing. It was a great moment. I wanted to run across stage, I wanted to jump into the crowd.”

But the poor guy didn’t even get to perform one line of the song. He hit the ground right before the opening chorus began. He says once the footage of his fall hit the net, people like Lebron James, Chris Paul and his mentor Jamie Foxx contacted him personally telling him to stay off of his leg.

Vibe Magazine Purchased // Website to be Relaunched Later This Year!

It look as though Vibe Magazine is going to be making a big comeback in online form, All Hip Hop reports. According to the immensely popular hip-hop site, one of the biggest hip-hop/R&B magazine’s to ever exist has been purchased by a New York City based private equity investment firm known as InterMedia Partners.

Vibe was founded by music legend Quincy Jones and media giant Time Warner back in the early 1990s, but they failed to keep up with the changing market when they were purchased by Wicks Group of Companies, which ultimately caused them to announce their sudden closure back in June 2009. But since the Vibe brand is so strong, Intermedia Partners and its portfolio company Uptown Media Group hope that a carefully strategized re-launch will bring the magazine back on top.

“Vibe is the preeminent brand in R&B and Hip-Hop. We feel privileged to purchase and resurrect such a storied brand,” explained David Koff, a Senior Partner at InterMedia Partners. “Together with the re-launch of Soul Train this fall and the rapid expansion of Uptown Magazine, a reinvigorated Vibe enables us to serve a broad spectrum of the African American audience with high quality entertainment and information.”

Michael Vick Given a Second Chance in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles!

So it looks as though Michael Vick is going to get a second chance in the NFL after all. The former Atlanta Falcon was given a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, with an option for a second year. The first year is worth $1.6 million while the second year is worth $5.2 million, according to AP. A special clause in his contract says that none of the money is 100% guaranteed, so the Eagles won’t be facing any financial risk if Vick doesn’t make the team.

“I think everybody deserves a second chance,” a somber Vick said Friday, a day after signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. “We all have issues, we all deal with certain things and we all have our own set of inequities. I think as long as you are willing to come back and do it the right way and do the right things and that you’re committed, then I think you deserve it. But you only get one shot at a second chance, and I am conscious of that.”

The three-time Pro Bowl pick served 18 months in federal prison for running an illegal dogfighting ring and was reinstated into the NFL after being shunned in 2006.

Mo'Nique Actress/comedienne Mo’Nique talks about her 40-pound weight loss (she went from 262 pounds to 220 pounds) and the added enjoyment it brings to her sex life in the latest issue of Life & Style magazine.

“The sex is better! I have so much more energy. I can move around better, and that’s what it’s all about. I want to lose more, so I’ll just keep eating better and exercising, and the weight will come off. It took time to put in on, and it will take time to take if off. It’s still okay to be big, but let’s be big and healthy. I had to lose some weight to get healthier because I want to be around for a while. I have twin sons who are 3 and a son who is 19, and I want the opportunity to meet their children.”

Kourtney Kardashian These damn Kardashian sisters are busy! Khloe is going around kissing Terrence J, Kim is dealing with her big break-up with Reggie Bush and all of the drama/rumors surrounding it … and now Kourtney is pregnant!

TV personality Kourtney Kardashian is expecting her first child and will officially be a mom sometime around Christmas.

“We were in the Everglades and I kept feeling nauseous and sick,” Kourtney tells E!. “I just kept thinking something wasn’t right. … I went to the doctor and he confirmed the news. I was just so shocked.”

Kourtney confirmed that her ex-fiance Scott Disick is the father of the child, who is due in December.

And all of this comes just in time for her new reality show with her sister Khloe. How convenient…

Complex: You’re a Philly girl. What was your childhood like?
Amber Rose: I grew up in South Philly. I grew up very poor with a single mother. My mother is a waitress, and she raised me on a waitress salary. I went to a Philadelphia public school. I’ve been in Philly my whole life, but obviously I’ve traveled in between. I was definitely not in the suburbs, I was in the inner city of South Philly.

Complex: What were some street experiences you’ve witnessed?
Amber Rose: Like gun violence, drug dealers, nowhere safe for the kids to play. In the schoolyard people were drinking 40s, smoking weed. I personally used to drink, I never smoked weed though. The craziest shit was just having my friends’ parents die of drug overdoses and things like somebody getting shot on the corner of my block.

Complex: How have you been dealing with the gossip blogs?
Amber Rose: This is my life, this is how my life’s been since I was a kid. I’ve always been popular, my name has always been in somebody’s mouth in high school. I don’t lose no sleep over this shit. Some of the stuff, when it’s extremely far-fetched and stupid, I just laugh. I don’t lose a minute of sleep over this.

Complex: What’s one thing about ’Ye that really blew you away about him?
Amber Rose: Well, the fact that there can be a noise in the background, or like a windshield wiper and he will start beat-boxing or banging on the dashboard and start doing some type of beat and it sounds so fresh. I remember when he first did something like that and he just closed his eyes, and gets in the mode. I was like, “Wow.” You have to be a genius to that. He’s amazing.

This dope piece of art you’re feasting your eyes upon is the official cover for Kid Cudi‘s debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of Day, due in stores September 15th.

The album was originally slated to be released on August 25th, but due to the fact that the artwork and the album’s other illustrations weren’t done in time, Cudi and his label had no choice but to push it back a couple of weeks, which means that the project will not be eligible for a Grammy Award (the cut-off date is Aug 31). This also means that it will compete with Jay-Z‘s Blueprint 3 in album sales, which is set to be released 4 days prior on September 11th.

Carmen Ortega Says She’s Behind Kim Kardashian & Reggie Bush’s Split … And She Has the Sex Tape to Prove It!

Some video chick named Carmen Ortega is looking for some free publicity at the expense of Reggie Bush. She has revealed that she has a sex tape of a late night romp between her and the New Orleans Saints football player, who recently broke up with his longtime girlfriend, socialite/TV personality Kim Kardashian.

Ortega claims she was romancing the New Orleans Saints running back while he was dating his ex – and she has the footage to prove it. Speaking on New York radio station Hot 97, Ortega reveals, “Me and Reggie were friends that became more… during Kim… (but now) me and Reggie do not communicate… I don’t want to.”

Asked if sex tape rumours are true, Ortega said, “Possibly… There’s stuff that I have. I have no idea what I’m gonna do with it, to be honest.” But the model dismissed reports she’s expecting Bush’s child: “I am not pregnant.”

And the drama between rapper Yung Joc and Diddy‘s Bad Boy record label continues…

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Out, Joc is speaking on why he hasn’t come out with an album yet, among other things. The Bad Boy recording artist first showed that he wasn’t happy with his label earlier this year because of unpaid royalties and a lack of promotion. He also publicly revealed that he had plans on filing a lawsuit against Diddy’s Bad Boy label and Block Entertainment.

“Honestly, there is no current situation with Bad Boy right now,” the rapper said. “We’ve been in talks of me being possibly released. I just don’t think at the present time that regime is the right outfit for me at the moment, considering I work very hard as an artist and I’m still in the position where I’m not able to put out my music because of some conflicts of interest…”

Def Jam recording artist Amerie‘s upcoming fourth album, In Love & War, originally slated for a September 29th release, has reportedly been pushed back to November 3rd. This marks the fourth time the album has been issued a new release date. But surprisingly, Amerie isn’t bummed about it.

“Very happy w/my album date! Got the one I wanted,” she tweeted. “So I’m officially putting it out there: In Love & War — November 3, a special date…”

In Love & War will feature production from The Buchanans, Teddy Riley (“Tell Me You Love Me”), Sean Garrett and Eric Hudson (“Heard ‘Em All”), Jim Jonsin and Rico Love (“Swagback”), and Bryan-Michael Cox (“Red Eye”).

Mishon Ratliff is also an actor, and he’s currently starring in ABC Family’s “Lincoln Heights” sitcom and has had small roles in movies like “The Heartbreak Kid” (the kid in the batting cage) and “Akeelah and the Bee,” where he did uncredited post production voice overs. He’s also appeared in ads for AT&T and has guest starred on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

[VIDEO] Garcelle Beauvais Reveals that Jamie Foxx Has a Secret Child!

Looks like it isn’t a secret anymore! Jamie Foxx‘s former co-star Garcelle Beauvais (aka “Fancy” from The Jamie Foxx Show) slipped up and told radio shock jock turned TV talk show host Wendy Williams that the triple threat entertainer (actor/singer/comedian) just had a love child!

“We’re very cool,” Beauvais-Nilon said of Foxx. “We saw each other on Easter Sunday… and he told me that he had a new baby and I said, ‘Jamie, wow! Do I know the babymama?’ and he goes, ‘No.’ And I go, ‘Do you know the babymama?”

A noticeably shocked Wendy Williams asked her studio audience if they knew Foxx was a new dad who all responded with a roaring “No!” Williams then thanked Garcelle for the “hot topic tidbit.”
