Despite numerous reservations of his ability to compete at the next level, the Carolina Panthers still made 2011 Heisman trophy winner Cam Newton the #1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
The man was simply too good to pass up. Even though he only played one year at Auburn University, he was dominant while leading them to an undefeated season that ended with an NCAA National Championship.
Cam’s got a load of confidence, but he knows he needs to work on his game.
“I’m ready to change this whole organization around, to go from worst to first. Just being a Panther is the most special part about this,” Newton released in a statement.
Can’t wait to see how this guy fairs next season. (Assuming there even is a next season).
