Praise the divine Blue Ivy! This year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show is going to be unBEYlievable. Yes, megastar Beyonce has been confirmed as the halftime show performer by the NFL.
The NFL confirmed the announcement through Twitter:
Beyonce will perform @pepsi #SB47 Halftime Show in New Orleans. Feb. 3 2013 on @cbs. twitter.com/SuperBowl/stat…
— Super Bowl XLVII (@SuperBowl) October 16, 2012
This is amazing, because it means the Super Bowl Halftime performers are trending back toward relevant, young artists and away from dried up, shriveled old fossils like Paul McCartney.
We do have to wonder what Beyonce’s set list will be like. “Single Ladies” will most likely be on there, but will Beyonce overdose by double-dipping on feminism with her “4” girl power anthem, “Run the World”?
Another question: Will Jay-Z be making a guest appearance? How could he not. It’s the Super Bowl.
And we can’t forget about Destiny’s Child. Could a quick, one-off reunion be on the horizon?
Guess we’ll just have to wait and see on February 3rd!
