It looks like another Hollywood couple has called it quits. Film Director Sam Mendes and actress Kate Winslet (from “Titanic” and “The Reader”) have filed for divorce after close to seven years of marriage. Here’s the statement released by their lawyer:
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year,” the couple’s lawyers, Schillings law firm, said in a statement. “The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect the privacy of the family.”
During Sam and Kate’s marriage, they gave birth to their son Joe. Just in case you’re wondering who the hell these people are, Sam Mendes is best known for directing “American Beauty” and “Jarhead,” while Oscar winning actress Kate Winslet is known for her famous roles in numerous movies including “Titantic” and “The Reader.” Kate won an Oscar last year for Best Actress.
