Hines Ward and His Dance Partner Kym Johnson Win “Dancing with the Stars!”

Hines Ward is the “DWTS” champ of season 12 after he and his dance partner Kym Johnson delivered a terrific final performance to win the crowd over.

The NFL star managed to take the crown last night and beat out his biggest competitor on the show Kirstie Alley. “[When] I heard my name…I looked over at Kirstie and I was like, ‘Oh geez.’ Everybody loves Kirstie!” Ward said. “So it was the fans that carried me through and I couldn’t believe it!” He said, before going on to add: “Anyone in this final deserved the trophy tonight. I’m not going to apologize for winning, but…”

Ward is the second NFL player to win the dance competition. Former NFL Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith won back in 2006, but Ward was considered by the judges to be the best dancing athlete they have had by far.

While there, the New York native said growing up in the Big Apple, she had showbiz dreams from a very young age and that she was very grateful for the opportunity to be sitting on Letterman’s couch. Gaga and Dave also talked about her getting a college degree someday in the future and why she showed up to his interview with no pants on. “I only liked the jacket so I decided that’s all I would wear,” she said.

A bunch of the media mogul’s most famous friends, including Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys and many more packed into the United Center in Chicago for “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular,” a star-studded send-off for the legendary talk show host.

Beyonce kicked off the festivities with a performance of her new single “Run the World (Girls),” which was followed by a poem recital from Maya Angelou (accompanied by Alicia Keys on the piano), a performance from music legend Aretha Franklin, an appearance from Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, a performance from Usher and more. The event also featured appearances form many other celebrities, including Tyler Perry, Tom Hanks, Maria Shriver (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s estranged wife), Simon Cowell, Patti Labelle, Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes and tons more.

“Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular” will air on television today (May 23) and tomorrow (May 24).

Beyonce shined in a big way Sunday night (May 22) at the 2011 Billboard Awards, held at the MGM Grand Arena in Los Vegas. The singer, who served up a show-stopping performance of her new single “Run the World (Girls)” during the ceremony, was presented with the first ever Billboard Millennium Award by her mother Tina Knowles and her 6-year-old nephew Julez.

Just before her performance, in addition to Tina and Julez, her father and former manager Mathew Knowles, as well as Lady Gaga, Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Bono, The Dream, “Baby Face” and even First Lady Michelle Obama were shown in a video tribute honoring Beyonce for her achievements in both her career and her personal life.
