Stress Had Nothing to do With Bow Wow’s Hospitilization

Stress Had Nothing to do With Bow Wow’s Hospitilization

Remember last week when it was reported that Bow Wow was rushed to the hospital for “exhaustion” or whatever after a concert? Yeah, that was just a big ol’ lie and Bow Wow himself has cleared up everything. Apparently he threw a little temper tantrum like the 3-year-old that he is. Remember those candids we posted? Yeah, I thought so lol.

“I hit something and cut my hand. It would not stop bleeding,” he was quoted as saying. “I was bummed out because a lot of the stuff that I had as part of my show wasn’t there,” the rapper says. “I was upset nobody made me aware of it, and I threw a tantrum.”

Grow up, son!

OFFICIAL Video Premiere: M.I.A. – “Paper Planes”

Yay! BETTER. And let me just say I knew M.I.A. would truly not approve of the previous video premiere so I was not particularly disappointed in her but MTV. Why …. why is M.I.A. yelling at me? lol and id understand why she is so surprised MTV censored her ass, again. “Fool me once…Fool me twice….FU!” is what I say! lmao

The Boys cause enough havoc to chase Uncle Ruckus away, which leaves Huey in charge… much to Riley’s disappointment. Interesting…

YOU DON’T KNOW ME

Platinum recording artist D.WOODS of pop/R&B act DANITY KANE and Bad Boy/Atlantic label mate GORILLA ZOE teamed up to bring you the hottest rap/R&B collab of the winter with “You Don’t Know Me” off his recent debut album “Welcome to the Zoo.” Zoe has hit big on radio with his chart-topping single “Hood Figga” while D.WOODS has been in the studio writing and recording songs for the highly anticipated second album from DANITY KANE of MTV’s hit show Making the Band 3 to follow their #1 Billboard charted and certified platinum debut album last fall. Co-written by D.WOODS, “You Don’t Know Me” is her first major album collab since the success of Danity Kane, though she is no stranger to songwriting and grinding in the studio to come up with hot hooks and verses. Based in Atlanta, GA in the middle of the vibrant urban music scene D.WOODS has been working her way up as a recording artist and songwriter since her years at Atlanta’s famed Tri-Cities Magnet High School for the Visual and Performing Arts. It was there that she and Alonzo Mathis aka GORILLA ZOE first met. Who would have known that only a few years down the road they would be labelmates on Diddy’s Bad Boy/Atlantic imprint.

Most recently D.WOODS has been with Danity Kane in New York and Miami shooting the next season of MTV’s Making the Band set to premiere January 28th, 2008 at 10pm and in the studio recording the Danity Kane album with mega-hit producers Scott Storch, The Runners, and Bryan Michael Cox. In addition D.WOODS has been working with Lloyd (The inc/Universal) on songs for his next album and the upcoming debut album of her sister, Shanell aka SNL, for her debut album on Ne-Yo’s Compound Entertainment label.

D.WOODS continues to make her mark as a musical force and is currently one of entertainment’s quickly rising young pop/urban stars. With several television and film projects and her upcoming fitness video “Crunk Abs!” in the pipeline, as well as a second album with Danity Kane to be released in spring 2008, D.WOODS is certainly one young entertainer to watch!

Time for Janet Jackson’s “Feedback!”

Janet Jackson - Discipline Promo

Janet Jackson – “Feedback”
[audio:feedback.mp3]

Let me tell YOU…..R&B is O-U-T! Sorry to say but this is fact. We are slowly emerging into 2008, get with the times. I like to spectate a lot and in my observation I learned that young adults (roughly 18-35) generally do not enjoy R&B or “slow music” but instead leaning towards dance-pop, electro, house, alternative, etc. or just “fast-pace music.” This group of persons (including me) may consist of your average club/party goers but also include people who work out, drive, dance in the mirror — I’m sure you get my point. I do not believe anything can be just R&B anymore, this is apparent.

In objection to Janet Jackson’s “change”: I see none. Jackson has always been pop and edgy, so this is no surprise: THIS is Miss Jackson.

Artists do occasionally switch up their styles to accommodate and it is inevitable, I’m afraid. But really, I want to see the same people-crying-R&B-Janet’s receipts for 20 Y.O. or HELL any female R&B artist’s album lately … Thank you. Janet is back and now it’s all or nothing!

“My swag is serious something heavy like a first-day period” – it doesn’t get more serious than that, people! Now dance dammit!

Regardless of how hard urban radio tries to avoid this, they cannot. As I speak this shit is blowing up slowly and people are going crazy.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 9: Saleisha Wins!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 9 Winner: Saleisha Cooper
AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL FOR CYCLE 9: SALEISHA COOPER (CLICK TO ENLARGE)

I really haven’t been into this cycle (9) of America’s Next Top Model that much, it got boring for me. But thank God for my friend Koriee; she informed me who won this season. Saleisha Cooper, a 21-year-old receptionist from Los Angeles, California and one of the final two girls, next to Chantal Jones, won.

Prior models eliminated during the season include: Mila Bouzinova, Kimberly Leemans, Victoria Marshman, Janet Mills, Ebony Morgan, Sarah Hartshorne, Ambreal Williams, Lisa Jackson, Heather Kuzmich, Bianca Golden, Jenah Doucette.

Anyone else saw the finale? How was it? Do you think Saleisha deserved to win this cycle? Thoughts?

Video Premieres: Cherish F/ Yung Joc – “Killa,” Backstreet Boys – “Helpless When She Smiles,” & Sean Kingston – “Kingston”

Uh-oh, Cherish, I see you! They done stepped it up with “Killa,” featuring Yung Joc, this is a definite club banger! The song is about a girl who knows this guy is bad for her, and he’s a player but she still wants him. The video premiered today on BET’s Access Granted and comes from Cherish’s sophomore album entitled The Truth (Sho’ nuff/Capitol); due out February 5th next year.

New Beatz For The Freakz

JANET JACKSON » TIMBALAND » FERGIE » CHINGY

Janet Jackson » “Feedback” » LISTEN » (Full) » I’m sure you all remember me posting about Janet Jackson’s forthcoming single not too long ago (in April). Here is her brand new song “Feedback,” produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins, it will be the first single lifted from Janet Jackson’s 10th studio album, appropriately entitled, Discipline (Island Def Jam). The singer’s new LP is due out February 26th of next year.

Timbaland ft. Keri Hilson + Nicole Scherzinger » “Scream” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Scream” is set to be the forth single lifted from Timbaland’s Shock Value (Interscope). The heavy string/tambourine sounding single features co-production by Danja and a guest appearance by Keri Hilson and light background vocals from Nicole Scherzinger. I really wasn’t all into this song that much at first but it’s getting there!

Fergie ft. Soulja Boy » “Clumsy (Collipark Remix)” » LISTEN » (Full) » Yelp, you read right. Collipark decided to make a remix to Fergie’s song “Clumsy” and decided to throw Soulja Boy in the mix! I like the original of “Clumsy” so much that any remix wouldn’t do me, not even Soulja Boy swayed me, sorry.

Chingy ft. Ludacris + Bobby Valentino » “Gimme Dat (Explicit)” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Gimme Dat” is slated to be Chingy’s second single from his forth studio album Hate It Or Love It (Def Jam/DTP). The single features stellar production by Full Scale and guest appearances by Ludacris and Bobby Valentino (vocals). The bass did it for me, this is my cut! Very nice single choice. Hmm, I wonder if Chingy reads blogs becos he has definitely stepped his game up this time around I’d say!

Ike Turner Dies at 76 Years Old

Ike Turner Dies at 76 Years Old

It seems like the entertainment industry has seen a new death, one after another, for the past month or so. Crazy stuff… TMZ is reporting that Ike Turner died in his San Marcos, California home. Sources tell the popular website that he may have died in his sleep. R.I.P. Ike

Ike was recently in the news (back in May) when he was arrested on some charges from the 1980’s. We posted a video a while back of him talking to TMZ about how it all went down.

Out with the old, in with the Nu: Erykah Badu preps for Winter album release

45906.jpg

Nu-soulstress Erykah Badu recently revealed the name of her 4th full length album, Nu AmErykah, which will feature production by Madlib, 9th Wonder, Mike “Chav” Chavarria, and a guest spot from Bilal the LP’s due date is expected for a Winter release (February 26th) of next year via Universal/Motown. In reference to the prior provisional title, Kabbah, Badu says that that name was never final and that she prefers to wait and title her albums once they’re finished:

“I named the album Nu AmErykah because I’m dealing with whatever is to come instead of what was,” said Badu. Apparently being her 3rd LP, Worldwide Underground, in 2003 due to lackadaisical sales which was due to timing the singer proclaims, “I didn’t feel like doing the whole promotional circuit for that record. I’d just had a baby.” – source

Nu AmErykah will include a total of 18 pre-recorded tracks on a two disc format and will include the psychedelic single “Honey” produced by 9th Wonder.
