Bow Wow has recorded and uploaded a new video to his YouTube Channel of a track from his new album Pedigree (LBW Ent./SoSoDef). The title of the track explains itself, “Big Bank Take Little Bank”. Bow Wow has a whole new swag on this new album. He’s really trying to prove his relevance to the hip hop game. Check out the video up top!
Chris Brown & Ne-Yo Debut Wrigley’s Gum Remade Jingles
NEW YORK CITY // SUNDAY, JULY 29TH 2008 » Chris Brown & Ne-Yo are both participating in remaking the jingles to some of Wrigley’s brand chewing gum. Chris Brown will be putting a twist on Wrigley’s Doublemint gum jingle using his single, “Forever”. Ne-Yo will be remaking the jingle for Wrigley’s Big Red gum jingle, “Kiss A Little Longer”. I’d really like to see these new commercials to see how these jingles came out. No wonder Chris Brown was chewing a Wrigley’s brand chewing gum in his video. Tatyana Ali Featured in King Magazine
Tatyana Ali is featured in the July 2008 issue of King Magazine. In this issue the Harvard grad talks about her new movie Hotel California, Being Black in Hollywood, Her new album, and Barack Obama.
What are your thoughts on black Hollywood?
It’s kind of like the Wild West out there, and not just for black Hollywood. In a traditional sense, things look bad—there are people out of work, shows aren’t going up and a lot of films aren’t being made, because of the fear of actors going on strike. But I think it’s a real fertile time to stake your claim. With things up in the air, it creates new space for people who are trying to break through, business-wise.

“Can’t Believe It” is slated to be the first single from T-Pain‘s forthcoming album, Thr33 Ringz (Jive/Zomba) in stores this Fall. The song, as well as the rest of the tracks on the album, features production by T-Pain himself. Lil’ Wayne features as a guest appearance on this track as well as another that will make the album. As far as what I think of the track? I don’t know, I mean, it reeally has to grow on me eventually because the snap-music-Autotune-whining thing is getting repetitive (with other people copying him); though, it is his style and signature. I love T-Pain and Wayne but I think they can do better, but then again, what do I know? I only listened to this a couple times …

2008 Pemberton Music Festival – Day 3
BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA // SUNDAY, JULY 27TH 2008» Rapper Jay-Z hit the stage last night during day 3 of the 2008 Pemberton Music Festival, a weekend long event in British Columbia (Canada).
The sun had just set behind the mountains on Sunday evening as Jay-Z took the stage to a roar of cheers – and quickly stole the show. Backed by a brass band, the legendary producer and rapper worked the 30,000-person strong crowd into a frenzy. The ground shook as the audience thrust their fists in the air to hit after hit, including “99 Problems” and his breakthrough “A Hard Knock Life.”
“To come up and here and get this much love, don’t think I don’t appreciate it,” Jay-Z shouted to the thundering crowd. “I appreciate each and every one of y’all out there.” [ SOURCE ]

Not a lot went down this weekend, but here are a few events that you might (or might not) be interested in! First up, we have Ne-Yo, Nicole Scherzinger, and Cee-Lo Green, who all attended a private after party at club Hush in Hollywood.
Plies Not The “Definition Of Real” Afterall?
So it looks like Rick Ross isn’t the only Miami Rapper to be caught lying about his past. Hip Hop DX claims that although Plies proclaims himself a “goon affiliated, ex-drug dealer” and raps about a criminal past, his records show that he had never been in trouble with the law until after his records were made.
HipHopDX has obtained documentation from the state of Florida that lists the “definition of real” rapper’s first real run-in with the law to have not taken place until two years ago, on April 12, 2006, when Plies – real name Algernod Lanier Washington, born May 22, 1976 – would have been on the eve of his 30th birthday and just beginning his ascension to his current status of gold-certified rap star.
The 32-year-old was arrested for the first time at the age of 29 on April 12, 2006 for the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.
Trey Songz Talks Hair and Politics With Essence
Trey Songz posted up an interview with Essence.com on his MYSPACE page today. In the interview with Essence Trey talked about his recent change in appearance, politics, growth, and love.
ESSENCE.COM: So I hear you’re making a pretty big change soon…
Trey Songz: I cut my hair today. Everything I do in my life I do with a do-rag [laughs]. The braids are a part of me. It’s been ten years, but I am tired of them.ESSENCE.COM: Is this change just another step in your evolution process?
Songz: With the new album, I am growing more into adulthood. I’m wearing my pants up a little more, my clothes are fitting [now], and I think it’s time to step into manhood, so that’s why [I decided to cut my hair.]

Ciara graces the August 2008 cover of Billboard Magazine. In the issue Ciara talks about her modeling contract with Wilhelmina, her new movie Mama I Want To Sing, and her new album, Fantasy Ride (LaFace), which is scheduled to drop November 2008! Oh Yes Ladies, You read that correctly! Rapper Nelly has been picked by Diddy to be the first ever spokes model for Sean John Underwear. Nelly spoke with AHH.COM about the Ad Campaign and how he felt about being chosen to model the underwear.
“I have been a big fan of Diddy and the Sean John clothing line for years,” Nelly told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “So, when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it.”

In this edition of T2W‘s Who Owns the Track?, we have Rihanna and fellow label mate Ne-Yo with “Take A Bow“. I think I’m going to have to give this one to Rihanna; though, I do give props to Ne-Yo for his contribution since obviously he owns the rights to the song. LeBron James Covers TIME Magazine
LeBron James is on the cover of the August 2008 issue of TIME Magazine. He’s currently working hard to push towards the gold medal in the 2008 Men’s Basketball Olympics in Beijing. He talks a little bit about how proud he was to represent the creator of basketball [USA]:
LEBRON: “It’s going to be like waking up on Christmas Day,” says James picturing himself on the stand being presented Beijing’s gold medal. “All you dreamed about this whole month was having that bike you wanted, and you get down to your living room — it’s there. It’s like one of the greatest things that has ever happened to you.”
TIME MAGAZINE: So you’re going to bring a hoops title back home to the U.S., the country that gave birth to the game, reared it and then lost the ball to more graceful global neighbors?
LEBRON: “Absolutely,” James responds. Guarantee it? “Absolutely.”
2008 State Farm USA Basketball Challenge: USA Embarrasses Canada!
The USA Basketball Senior Team got off to a great start in the 2008 Men’s Basketball Olympics last night and made me very proud! Although LeBron James was injured with a sprained ankle for the challenge the team still did wonders on the court without him beating Canada by 55 (120-65)!!! Imagine if LeBron James was playing! Coach Mike Krzyzewski said he wanted Dwyane Wade as emergency backup just in case something happened to Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. The backup [Dwayne Wade] kicked into overdrive in the challenge against Canada scoring 20 points in his first game in 4 months. Chris Paul, who had 11 points and 8 assists, talked about Wade’s perservance:
“D-Wade is a warrior to anybody who knows him. He’s been rehabbing and he’s been working out probably more than anybody, just trying to get back in shape,” Chris Paul said. “That’s D-Wade. We see it every day in practice and you saw it tonight, that he’s back. When he’s aggressive like that, we’re a dangerous team.”
