As far as her music career is concerned, our girl Keri Hilson gets no love. But we love her over here at GOT! So hopefully ’09 will bring her much success. She was one of the performers at The World’s Largest Office Christmas Party at Cafe Iguana in Davie, Florida. Power 96, a popular radio station in the area, hosted the event. Other performers included Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, and Jazmine Sullivan. More pics after the cut!
Singers (and lovers) Chris Brown and Rihanna look like they just want to grab each other and …. well, you know the rest. The two performed on stage together at the B96 Jingle Bash in Chicago Tuesday night (Dec. 16th).
SHARON OSBOURNE BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE LAPD » The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating an incident that happened this past Sunday (Dec. 14th), reportedly involving Charm School: Rock of Love host Sharon Osbourne and contestant Megan Hauserman, during the recording of the VH1 reality series’ finale show.
Allegedly, words were exchanged between both Sharon and Megan, and when Megan told Sharon that she’s “only famous for managing a brain dead rock star,” all hell broke loose, according to TMZ. Sharon then lunged at Megan, scratching and pulling her hair, so much that Megan had to be taken to a hospital. TMZ cameras caught her leaving the ER with a sling on her left arm and plugs of hair missing from her head.
We hear Megan is pressing charges, but so far, none have been filed yet. Calls to VH1 and Sharon’s people were not immediately returned. The moral of the story is … don’t f**k with the Osbournes!!

Ciara’s pushed back her Fantasy-Ride project till next year and another song has just leaked. The track is titled “Rattla” and it’s reminiscent of “Oh.” Defiantly, a “Goodies” feel. We’re not sure what she is doing with this project. Ciara has to work twice as hard on every album. The girl is very talented and we’re certain she’ll be coming correct … but the song is a lackluster. Don’t get us wrong … it’s catchy, but there’s something about the beat that feels empty.
Apparently VH1 has given yet another reality show standout their own reality series.

R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo dropped by M. Agnes Jones Elementary School in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia to present band director Arthur McClenton and his students a $30,000 check for brand new instruments, courtsey of VH1’s Save the Music Foundation and an anonymous donor.
“Music is not what I do, it’s who I am,” Ne-Yo said. “If you cut off off my arm right now a song would probably fall out…And I know it may be cliche, but these kids are our future. And we are going to have some very smart, but very boring, very bland kids if we don’t keep programs like these in the schools.”

AKON SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ABOUT HIS CRIMINAL PAST » Hip-hop star Akon (real name: Aliaune Thiam) cleared up allegations of him fabricating his criminal past to create this “gangster image” we all know him for. Just earlier this year (April 2008 to be exact), The Smoking Gun, a website famous for letting people know what’s really up with these celebrities, published reports of Akon’s true criminal past, making it known that the founder of Konvict Musik wasn’t in jail for 3 years, as he had claimed in numerous media interviews and in the lyrics of his music. But in an interview with Access Atlanta, Akon said that the “three years” he had previously mentioned didn’t represent one long sentence. Instead, they represented an accumulation of all of his run-ins with the law.
“I got caught up in cars and this and that. Kept going in and out of jail. Three months here, six months there, two weeks here,” Akon said. “And it was to a point where I was like, ‘This really doesn’t make any sense. What am I doing?’ And the last stretch I did was six months in Dekalb County (Georgia) after I was pulled over in a stolen car. So I guess when I was being interviewed, and I would say, ‘Yeah I did about three years,’ I wasn’t saying I did a three year stretch, I was calculating the time from when I started to get in trouble to the time when I said, ‘Enough is enough.’ And I think that was mistranslated in the Smoking Gun article and other stories.”
Yeah … usually when you say “I did 3 years in prison,” it usually means you did three years in prison! Not 3 months here, 6 months there, a week here, 12 hours there, 72 minutes there. He knew what he was doing to get those album sales, SMH…
The human beat box we all know as Doug E. Fresh is over $3.5 million in debt! And multiple banks in New York are pursuing the hip-hop icon to get their money. According to reports published by The New York Post, not one, not even two, but THREE of Fresh’s Harlem home mortgages are behind payment and he is facing around $60,000 in debt stemming from credit card charges by American Express.
In addition to all of that, the IRS has also hit the rapper with a tax lien worth over $360,000, in addition to over $40,000, which he already owed to the state. So not only are the banks on his back, he has Uncle Sam to worry about too! SMH…
But hopefully his latest business venture, a restaurant named “Doug E’s Chicken & Waffles,” which is set to open in the Harlem area in January 2009, works out so that he can get out of the deep financial hole he’s in.

A few days ago, we reported that TLC member Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins was losing her home. Well, she sat down with Essence.com and set the record straight in an exclusive interview with the popular magazine.
ESSENCE.COM: Well, there have been reports that a Georgia property of yours is going into foreclosure. Is that true?
T-Boz: No, I’m not homeless. During my last marriage [to Mack 10], I had a bunch of things that were put in my name. If one of those properties is going into foreclosure then I don’t know. Although I’ve been divorced for five years, there are still a lot of things I’m dealing with on getting straight in that regard. All I know is that the house I live in with my daughter is not. When you pull up my name, my real house doesn’t show up because it’s not in my real name, because I enjoy my privacy and I’m not trying to have people be able to find me that easily.
JERMAINE DUPRI SUES ATLANTA NIGHTCLUB FOR USING HIS NAME » Atlanta native Jermaine Dupri is suing a nightclub and a promoter in his hometown for using his name without permission. The producer turned record executive filed the lawsuit last Tuesday (December 9th) against Pure Atlanta, a popular nightclub in the city, and Binyam Yayine from Elite Entertainment Group, LLC for using his name to promote a weekly “Industry Thursdays” event. When Yayine and his company contacted JD’s management to ask that he make an appearance at the party, they declined explaining that he’d be out of the country on the night of the event, and wouldn’t be able to make it. But Pure Atlanta went ahead and promoted the party with Dupri’s name, saying that he’d be hosting the “All Black Affair” on November 20th.
When JD and his people found out about the club using his name without permission, they contacted Elite Entertainment Group, asking that they immediately cease using his name and image to promote the event. But they ignored JD’s request and went on with the party anyway. And now Dupri and his management are suing Elite Entertainment Group and Pure Nightclub, asking the court to render a judgement against the defendants for “all profits received from their unauthorized use of Dupri’s name and image, including false designations of origin and false descriptions and representations of endorsement, approval, and/or sponsorship by Dupri.”
JD’s attorneys are requesting that this matter be decided by a jury in Fulton County, Georgia. He’s also seeking punitive damages, though no specific dollar amount was requested, in addition to legal fees being reimbursed.
The 2008 Video Game awards, presented by Spike TV, went down last night in Culver City, California at Sony Pictures’ Studios. The annual show, which recognizes the best computer and video games of the past year, was hosted by comedian/musician by Jack Black, who is nothing short of a damn fool, lol!
