Michael Jackson’s Hair Will be Turned into Diamonds?

This is getting out of control! Reports are stating that pieces of Michael Jackson’s burned hair from the unfortunate Pepsi commercial shoot will be turned into diamonds. LifeGem, a Chicago-based jeweler, specializes in turning hair samples to high-quality diamonds and they have released plans to create a collection from Jackson’s hair.

“Our plan is to give people an opportunity to own a diamond made from Michael Jackson’s DNA,” said Dean VandenBiesen, founder of LifeGem, in a statement.

The hair was first obtained by executive producer Ralph Cohen during the now-infamous 1984 Pepsi shoot for Pepsi when Jackson’s hair caught on fire. After helping extinguish Jackson’s hair with his Armani jacket, Cohen scooped up the hair and put it into the jacket’s pocket, where it remained until Jackson’s death 25 years later.

Former Danity Kane Member Shannon Box Going Country?

Since the platinum selling group Danity Kane was disbanded by Bad Boy exec Diddy, we haven’t heard much from two of its members: vocalist Aundrea Fimbres and blonde beauty Shannon Bex. It’s being reported that Shannon will soon beheading back into the studio to start on her new album. She will be abandoning her pop roots to turn to country.

She says, “I’m just working on kind of finding my solo sound. I’ve been with a group for an amazing five years, and you know, it kind of happens, things move on. I want to do it right, though. I’m not jumping into anything.”

In related news, a friend reached out to NY Daily News to dispel any rumors of her hooking up with Chris Brown after they reportedly checked into the same hotel this past weekend:

“Ri didn’t even know Chris was going to be in town, much less that he was in the same hotel,” a pal says of the songbird, who had checked into the Trump International Hotel & Tower on Columbus Circle. “As for whether they’re sneaking around together, she’s not dumb – she would never mess around with him again.”

A friend of Brown’s confirms, “Chris is taking the court orders [to not get within 50 yards of his ex] seriously. He has called Rihanna since discovering they were staying in such close proximity, but he has definitely not tried to see her.”

In fact, Brown has since checked out of the Trump hotel, but he will still remain in New York for work: This week, he’ll shoot the music video for “Stronger,” his collaboration with Mary J. Blige. As for Rihanna, she’s currently in the studio with mentor Jay-Z and pal Kanye West working on her upcoming album.

Kristinia DeBarge Signs Copies of Her New Album “Exposed” at Journey’s in New York City

Up and coming R&B singer Kristinia DeBarge assisted Kimora Lee launch Baby Phat’s new line of sneakers, Pure Cat, at Journey’s shoe store in New ork City Monday afternoon (Jul 27). The Def Jam recording artist, who just so happens to be singer James DeBarge’s daughter, also signed copies of her new album, Exposed, which is in stores and online today!

The “Goodbye” singer has a lot to smile about right about now too! It was recently announced that she will join Ciara as Britney Spears‘ opening act for the upcoming Fall leg of her “Circus” tour, which opens August 20th in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) and wraps on September 27th in Vegas.

“Joining Britney Spears for her Circus tour will be an amazing and surreal experience for me,” Kristinia said in a statement posted on Spears’ site. “I have been dreaming of an opportunity like this forever, and can’t wait.”

According to a review of the show, Ginuwine wasn’t able to offer his best performance due to him being hoarse after just wrapping up a promo tour for his new album, A Man’s Thoughts. But they say he made up for it in the end when he joined Joe and Chico for the show’s final segment, which was a tribute to Michael Jackson, and busted out the moonwalk during a performance of “Billie Jean.”

Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush Call it Quits

Word on the sidewalk is that socialite Kim Kardashian and her NFL football star boyfriend Reggie Bush have split! Kim’s rep confirmed the news to various media outlets. Sources say the time they spent apart took a toll on their relationship. Having recently returned from a trip to Africa in honor of Russell Simmons’ Diamond Empowerment Fund, the pair decided it’d be best to just go their separate ways with Reggie’s upcoming fourth football season just on the horizon.

“They never get to see each other, ever,” the source says. “It’s been a long time coming. They still love each other and are part of their lives, but Reggie spends six months out of the year in New Orleans, so it’s tough.”

Kardashian, 28, the star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, had been dating Bush, 24, since 2007. The couple were seen as the perfect Hollywood pair, stepping out on red carpets and posing for a GQ spread together.

“They were the cutest couple,” another source tells PEOPLE. “They loved each other so much but they hardly saw each other. He starts his football training camp this week and she starts filming Keeping up with the Kardashians this week. They just need a break right now.”

Actress Holly Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL football player Rodney Peete, hosted the HollyRod Foundation’s 11th Annual DesignCare Fundraiser at a private residence Saturday (Jul 25) in Beverly Hills, CA. Holly recently spoke out about the treatment of autism, calling it “expensive.” She and Rodney have a son with the disorder and have been trying to raise funds for his treatment through their HollyRod Foundation.

“We started the HollyRod Foundation years ago to help people with Parkinson’s disease – my dad had Parkinson’s and then about five years into the foundation, my son was diagnosed with autism… Much like Parkinson’s, autism is very expensive to treat so we started raising money for the quality of life for people suffering from both because of our personal experiences,” she revealed at the 11th annual DesignCare event in Hollywood.

“You can’t even know how expensive it is to treat a child with autism, especially families who don’t have insurance – it’s next to impossible. It destroys families.”
Holly added: “We raise money through these fundraisers and we beg people to use their gorgeous homes, we beg all of our friends to get dressed up and play with us.”
